Last week I kept you up to date on the latest example of the vast tidal wave of hate sweeping America in which Trumpist white males attack blacks while shouting improbable things:

Breaking National News from NYT: 12-Year-Old Black Girl Arrives Home with New Hairdo But When Her Grandma Objects, Girl Blames Haircut on “Nappy” Hair-Hating White Male Racists

Here was the New York Times’ headline last week on this Big Story:

But in a stunning, utterly unexpected development today, the New York Times now reports:

Virginia Girl Recants Story of Boys Cutting Off Her Dreadlocks

You’ll note the slightly different wording of the second headline: “Black Virginia Girl” becomes just “Virginia Girl” and “White Classmates” become just “Boys.”

The 12-year-old-girl’s story drew national headlines and a police investigation last week. Her family has apologized.

By Niraj Chokshi, Sept. 30, 2019

It was a story bound to unleash a storm of news coverage: A black 12-year-old girl reported that three white boys had pinned her down in a school playground and cut off her dreadlocks.

It was the same private Christian school in Virginia where the vice president’s wife was a part-time teacher, which only fueled the social media outrage. …

But in a matter of days, the story fell apart.

On Monday, the school announced that the girl had admitted the story was a lie, and that her family had apologized.

“While we are relieved to hear the truth and bring the events of the past few days to a close, we also feel tremendous pain for the victims and the hurt on both sides of this conflict,” the school’s principal, Stephen Danish, said in a statement.

So the false accuser is a victim, too.

He continued: “We recognize that we now enter what will be a long season of healing. This ordeal has revealed that we as a school family are not immune from the effects of deep racial wounds in our society.” …

In other words, when you look at it properly, white people still at fault.

“To those young boys and their parents, we sincerely apologize for the pain and anxiety these allegations have caused,” the family said. “To the administrators and families of Immanuel Christian School, we are sorry for the damage this incident has done to trust within the school family and the undue scorn it has brought to the school. To the broader community, who rallied in such passionate support for our daughter, we apologize for betraying your trust.”

In an interview with The New York Times on Friday, the girl, A A, had said that she was attacked during recess on Sept. 23 by three boys who held her down, covered her mouth and cut her dreadlocks.

“They were saying that my hair was ugly, that it was nappy,” she said.

After all, there is nothing 12 year old white boys think about more than the texture of black girls’ hair.

I saw this on the morning news last week. I need a PredictIt entry to bet against the morning news retracting the hoax, because we know they won’t do it. Somehow I don’t think anyone will take the opposite position.

These have to be immigrants, and fairly religious ones at that. Can you imagine black Americans talking like this?

We belong to a swim club (more like a pool to lounge in) in the suburbs of Detroit. We got so many Blacks who sneak in or drop off their kids to sneak in, and then cry racism when caught, that the board hired 2 Black women as ‘pool hosts’ to check IDs and call the cops. They still cry racism.

Those of you who don’t have the honor of living in midwest rust belt cities with lots of Blacks…. literally every time they get caught doing something, it is racism. Everything. Two years ago 2 Black guys carjacked and kidnapped a white woman outside a drugstore in Detroit. They raped her. The criminals’ families went on TV to declare the victim and cops were racist because she wanted the sex and to give her car away.

Call me a hopeless romantic, but maybe this sort of thing finally helps to increase the number of people who fully understand that the political class has nothing to do with ‘public service’, the ‘greater good’, the ‘common welfare’ or any of the myriad other bullshit phrases that people have used since Rousseau’s unmitigated pile of horse-shit about some putative ‘contract’ that binds us serfs to the parasites (but gives them no obligation to fulfil their side of the contract and leaves them free to alter the terms as they fell… doesn’t sound remotely contracty to me).

A similar thing has happened here on the top side of the world (Straya); a state government has legalised weed (as they ought to), and the fuckwit ex-[corrupt drug]-cop in charge of the Federal Sicherheitsdienst is goung full Heydrich-meets-Beria over it.

To be fair, Reichsleiter Potatohead is probably not happy about potential loss of market share for the (other) corrupt cops he failed to identify while working in the same division for a decade. Market share, margin pressure…the economic means is anathema to tax-eating scumbags.

  24. @Russ

The problem is that the Smollett incident and the failure of law enforcement and the DA to go after him has now legitimized these types of hoaxes. And as Steve has shown the NYT and other Khazar owned media will tell a slightly different story after the hoax omitting the race issue that they pounced on when they thought they could smear more whites.

You’re wrong (and so is the commenter who extends the cognitive franchise to NYT readers): people can, and do, accept, and always have accepted, whatever narrative they are told to accept.

That’s why the political class is always keen to cuddle up to powerful media proprietors (and to spend vast amounts of tax funds on advertising with them)… more than 2/3rds of the population are hostage to any view presented to them by an authority figure. Add some visual effects and the proportion thus affected increases by another 20%.

Humans are a herd animal, and a very large proportion of them cannot think for themselves in any coherent way.

  30. The sad part is that New York Times hoax culture has percolated all the way down to sixth graders. Instead of “the dog ate my homework,” it’s now “white MAGA boys poured bleach on my homework.”

I think even the NYT true believers were rolling their eyes and counting down the days to implosion on this one. (No comments allowed on the article about the recanting.)

As an aside, the NYT gratuitously noted in the original article that this school follows the bizarre Cult of Christianity, and is thus presumably a hate group:

Immanuel Christian’s website — which describes the school’s expectations of students, parents and guardians, and its employees — says that it does not accept gay students and that it requires employees to affirm that marriage should be between one man and one woman.

If it’s about race then in the media the Narrative comes before the truth. It’s the same game when “youths” attack people in the street or bus stops – the media feels no need to be specific lest giving people accurate news gives them the wrong idea about society.

Perhaps it’s in the most recent article, but what is this girl’s stated reason for this hoax? Also, what are the odds she gets expelled for falsely accusing three classmates of assault? Maybe they are just hoping she leaves – I would imagine that to the extent she has casual friends there, a lot of them are going to steer clear now. Middle school is brutal enough without being known as a massive liar who was willing to wreck some of her classmates’ lives for reasons unknown (at least to me).

  37. The girl did not “recant”. She admitted that she had been LYING.

To “recant” does not mean to ‘fess up, it means to disavow a formerly-held doctrinal belief and admit that the belief was in error. That is not what she did. She LIED, and then continued to publicly LIE, when she knew quite well that innocents would suffer because of her LIE. She even cried fake tears in public over it. And then, only when her lie could no longer be credibly sustained, she copped to it, probably under pressure to do so. I understand that video evidence directly contradicted her. So, no pangs of conscience, even — just Woops, I guess you got me.

We get stuff like “the story fell apart” rather than “her LIE was exposed.”

By using the word “recant” instead of “admitted to lying,” the NYT of course lies by omission.

But we already knew (((that))) was gonna happen.

Don’t know about NYT, but Wash Post, which is the local major newspaper of Northern Virginia ran it on the front page of the Metro section–so that would be page B 1 in most newspapers. It got three columns of solemn reporting. That story rated all of six sentences-not paragraphs. Just business as usual in the current year.

You’re right that the reporters who bought this story (and not just at the Times) are gullible clowns.

But running these transparent hoaxes day after day still has the desired effect for the people in charge.

It creates an atmosphere of menace where none objectively exists. To the average inattentive person, they just see one outrageous headline after another, and the vague impression for them is that there’s bad stuff happening everywhere. It doesn’t matter that a hoax is later exposed (if that ever even gets reported); the very frequency of the headlines affirms the impression of a crisis.

I noticed one of the reports of the girl’s confession quoted some academic as claiming that “actual race hoaxes are rare”; a link on those words led you to a story about Smollet—NOT a study that justified the claim, as any of us here would expect. But how many people are going to click on the link to begin with, let alone ask the relevant question? Thus the false statement prevails.

In any case, hiring credulous, incompetent, ass-kissing reporters is the first step to create the requisite climate of loathing towards whites.

The media tries to treat any instance of white-on-black violence as part of an overall, related trend that exists nationwide. So running this story, even though it was false, reinforces that narrative.

At the same time they treat black-on-white violence as isolated, random and unrelated. And such attacks rarely get covered beyond the local news. So Whites nationwide have a hard time connecting the dots that they are on the receiving end of a low-level racial war.

I recall reading a Fred Reed column awhile ago where he recounted his days as a beat reporter. He wrote that riding along with the cops one could not help but notice that blacks target Whites. He wrote that the media goes to great lengths to downplay this, lest Whites begin to retaliate.

    Weird.

  64. Around the country, the school year begins somewhere around very late August or very early September. Let’s say on average that the school year started on September 1st. That means there have been roughly 21 official school days to date.

This means, as a matter of near certainty, that /at an absolute minimum/, this far into the school year, nationwide at least 21 White sixth-grade girls have been sexually harassed, groped, molested or assaulted by their Basketball-American classmates, many of whom will be 13 or 14 years old due to repeating a grade. It’s probably more like 21 White girls per state. And it’s very likely many more than 21 per state. And each of these incidents will be quite chillingly real, not imaginary.

And not a single one will fetch even a local headline, let alone national. Our ever-vigilant Holocaust-American reporters will be far too busy vigilantly sniffing around kindergarten classrooms, in quest of a pipe-cleaner twisted into a lower-case letter q, which can then be turned upside down and construed as a noose. That’s what it’s all about. As Steve points out, when blacks are victims (even if the crime didn’t even occur because they made it up) it’s all about race. Everything is about race. When the hoax is exposed, nothing to see here racists, just keep moving.

And as Steve also points out, whatever happens, whites are the enemy. Whites are the eternal enemy. And a final victory over them may finally be in sight at last. Mazel!

  74. @The Germ Theory of Disease

Thank you. Much needed clarity, not a hint of which will appear in the MSM.

On the bright side, three white boys learn early about how their society works.

On the not so bright side, you may be reasonably sure they’re getting indoctrinated as to how the girl is the real victim here, and they should stfu if they know what’s good for them, because privilege.

  76. @Danindc

That’s rather unkind. The expression of frustration is familiar to nearly all of us, but that doesn’t make the frustration any less irritating.

  77. Anon[428] • Disclaimer says:

The literary “girl recants story” is less visceral than “boys cut dreadlocks.” Would a Trump headline ever contain the word “recant”? I think you’d get something more like”admits … was a lie.” Everything about the second story is softened and made abstract. And I honestly think that a sizable proportion of the Times’ readers of color don’t know what “recant” means.

  78. Anon[428] • Disclaimer says:

It’s interesting that progressive websites like Vox, Salon, Slate, Mother Jones, and The Atlantic ignored the story. Salon, for instance, will tend to have half a dozen hot takes from different writers on viral stories, almost as if there is no central editorial traffic control. So it’s obvious that internet savvy SJW writers were not fooled by the hoax at all.

The question becomes why did Wapo, the Times, NBC, BBC, and the Guardian fall for it? As far as the British outlets, I think it’s partly a reaction to their cartoonish image of U.S. culture. The NY Post ran it precisely because they knew it was fake and would give them a double clickbait bite of the Apple.

If they had any real “grace” they would take their lying daughter out of the school. They are only sorry they got caught.

If the principal had any integrity he would expel her.

    No consequences here, move along.

  85. @Anon

The reporter has a boss, the boss has editors. So the reporter gets a call: The girl recanted. The reporter goes to the boss to report the call and ask whether to write it. The boss goes up the chain to see if the retraction shall be printed. At WashPost, nothing is acknowledged yet. NY Times removed all reference to race in the headlines where it was blared when the accusation was made.

These hoax deals are to me exactly the same as the word ‘teens’ when MSM is describing accusations and new exploits in violent Black depravity. I expect ‘teens’ to become a new slander someday, however, they know *I* know it means Blacks.

We will read very little about how this accusation affected the boys. Even now I’ll bet there’s mosre sympathy for the black girl and that the boys aren’t even an afterthought. When I was in 7th grade I was accused of stealing another student’s lock from his gym locker. To this day I think I was literally framed for it, because the lock was in my locker and I had no idea how it has gotten there. Now, to an adult this is an obvious triviality, but I was brought into the Principal’s office by the gym teacher and given the 3rd degree by both of them. I didn’t know what to think other than I didn’t do it. My point is, this was kind of a traumatizing experience for a 12-year-old kid. And that pales in comparison to what these three boys must have been put through.

So in other words, Trump is causing these democrats to act out in ways that are embarrassing to liberal whites by proving correct all right wing talking points and so he must be impeached. This was said to me by college educated people with a straight face. Digging deeper, liberal whites understand that the thin veneer of a functioning society depends on placating these democrats. The liberal prefers the illusion of a functioning society over the exposure of corruption and bad deeds that are being perpetrated by the chosen elite, the underclass and the homos. To me this is classic boomerism in a nutshell.

OT, a while ago I mentioned that the fifty-odd volume Yale Chronicles of America history set, published in the 1920’s, had an introductory paragraph which if published today would be rather controversial. This morning, looking at Conrad Black’s article at American Greatness, I saw that very set of books, at least part of it, on an Oval Office shelf over the shoulder of President Trump in the illustration.

Proof that no one reads books anymore, since if any reporter could recount taking down volume one and discovering the first paragraph — in the Oval Office!, he’d have a lede to beat the band.

Across the twilight lawn at Hampton Institute straggles a group of sturdy young men with copper-hued complexions. Their day has been devoted to farming, carpentry, blacksmithing, or some other trade. Their evening will be given to study. Those silent dignified Indians with straight black hair and broad, strong features are training their hands and minds in the hope that some day they may stand beside the white man as equals. Behind them, laughing gayly and chattering as if without a care in the world, comes a larger group of kinky-haired, thick-lipped youths with black skins and African features. They, too, have been working with the hands to train the mind. Those two diverse races, red and black, sit down together in a classroom, and to them comes another race. The faces that were expressionless or merely mirthful a minute ago light up with serious interest as the teacher comes into the room. She stands there a slender, golden-haired, blue-eyed Anglo-Saxon girl just out of college—a mere child compared with the score of swarthy, stalwart men as old as herself who sit before her. Her mobile features seem to mirror a hundred thoughts while their impassive faces are moved by only one. Her quick speech almost trips in its eagerness not to waste the short, precious hour. Only a strong effort holds her back while she waits for the slow answers of the young men whom she drills over and over again in simple problems of arithmetic. The class and the teacher are an epitome of American history. They are more than that. They are an epitome of all history.

I would go deeper and ask “What is racism? What is a racist?”

The left is fond of vague smears like “racist!” But when you drill down into “What is a racist?” it’s always a version of “who/whom?”

Do not use their language. Do not cede this point. If you respond to a charge of “racist!” you have accepted their frame and already lost.

Actually, while I’m philosophically in agreement with you, if you look in the rural South you will find that blacks and whites get along fairly well these days. It’s in the cities where woke whites have to virtue signal and ambitious black “leaders” want to gain power and influence (with the woke {{whites}} help) that things get messed up.

Just because coexistence can work sometimes is no reason to disdain separation. It’s enough that coexistence doesn’t work a lot of the time.

Human nature ensures that power-hungry people will wedge and leverage racial and ethnic differences for power. Always. You think it’s bad now? Oh, they’re just getting started.

I was in Japan recently. I was struck by how peaceful, orderly and clean it was. And, yes, homogenous.

I would trade a growing economy with social dysfunction for a socially harmonious but flat (but still prosperous) economy any day.

You’re right that the reporters who bought this story (and not just at the Times) are gullible clowns.

When reporters were mostly brightish blue collar guys who could write, they were far less gullible and had a much better feeling for verisimilitude. Today’s Ivy educated reporters have no sense of verisimilitude at all, and live in fantasy worlds populated with stock figures from TV/ movies and comic books. Sad.

I agree with you but optics do matter for influencing white liberals.

  152. Nobody says:

No forgiveness. Not until there’s some harsh punishment. In the words of Amari’s grandmother, “Some consequences should be implemented so that the school will send a strong message: We will not tolerate this, under any circumstances. No matter who you are.”
    >But she’s just a little girl, you monster!
Yeah, and the falsely accused are just little boys. There would have been no forgiveness for them had her false accusations not been disproved.

Yet i just read Rod Dreher saying that he resubscribed to the New York Times again. He couldn’t resist. I called him out on it, on the American Conservative website, and he told me “you do your thing, I’ll do mine.”
