Will the Berkeley Riot Make NYT's "This Week in Hate" List?
Search Text Case Sensitive  Exact Strings  Include Comments

The New York Times, in collaboration with the SPLC and ProPublica, has been running a weekly “This Week in Hate” column of purported hate crimes and harassment incidents supposedly unleashed by Trump’s election:

Screenshot 2017-02-08 18.45.08

A few days ago, I submitted to the NYT/ProPublica the violence against Milo fans in Berkeley and got back a reply announcing they’d received my report:

It will be interesting to see whether the New York Times includes Berkeley in “This Week in Hate.”

  2. This Week in Hate

The ongoing replacement/dispossession of legacy Americans is pretty hateful. Maybe we could get them to make a “This Five Decades in Hate”.

  3. Steve,

Disappointed you didn’t make this list:

    http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/02/steve-bannon-books-reading-list-214745

Also of note: how much Eliana Johnson, daughter of Powerline’s Scott Johnson, gets exactly backwards, seemingly tendentiously so. Has the Deep State gotten to her?

  4. Speaking of SPLC, “Oklahoma City” is a new documentary that just played at Sundance and has been getting concurrent airings on PBS stations around the US. Its subject is the 1995 bombing, of course, but the real theme is the evil of right-wing white men. One of the most prominent talking heads in it is a guy named Mark Potok, identified only as a “Journalist.” A title card at the end states that according to the SPLC, there are something like 500 active white-hate groups in the US.

The doc is most notable for what it leaves out and glosses over. The name Andreas Strassmeir is never uttered, for example.

  6. It would be very interesting indeed, but let’s face it, not going to happen. As we all know now, it’s ok to punch Nazis. If you don’t agree with that, get with the program already! Furthermore, the people going to see Milo Yiannopoulos are all Trump lovers, and again, as we all know Trump is a racist, sexist, misogynist, who hates Muslims as well, therefore anyone who is pro-Trump is all of the above, as well as a Nazi. So no, under the NYT rules, this is not a hate crime, and anyone who disagrees, well that is just fake news, isn’t it? So just as the colored people can’t be racist, it cannot be hate to attack anyone who is in the Trump/Yiannopoulos camp.

I have been making comments on Steve's blog for many years. From the iSteve days to the current Unz Review blog, I cannot recall ever having a comment I have submitted that was not published. I guess that makes me a sycophant.

Nick, I've seen a lot of your posts. What is the ratio of non-published to published posts for you, do you reckon? Maybe he doesn't let really stupid shit get displayed, but I wouldn't know, right?

Seriously. Are you so stupid that you don't understand the difference between a federally funded institution (i.e. one that depends on taxpayers involuntary contributions) and a private blog (one that depends on taxpayers's voluntary donations)?

Same thing they did with his rallies when they spoke of all the political violence that occurred at them…from leftists (but lets not mention that part). I bet it isn’t even done maliciously at this point. Its Ben Kenobi (so what I told you was true…from a certain point of view) meets Orwellian Crimestop.

  13. Well of course not. The NYT is propaganda organ of the establishment and promoter of the grand narrative that whites are bad and racist and that ethnic vibrants are good.

So of course they won’t include the rioters at Berkeley. OTOH if a dozen HBD’ers and Western civilization enthusiasts have a pancake breakfast at IHOP that will be duly reported on as some sort of nefarious meeting of dastardly evil doers.

Those on the other side never - emphasis on never - apologize for their transgressions, however heinous. They never offer the slightest shred of sympathy to the innocent victims of their excesses. They are frequently, even perpetually, in error, but never in doubt.

You can't nick their aura of smug self-righteousness with a diamond-cutter. The only thing stronger than their delusional self-regard is the nauseating aroma of the reeking bullshit they spew.

They destroy careers, lives, families, organizations, cities, countries, even entire civilizations ... and they never deign to question their methods, let alone their motives.

So don't have a heart. Hang, draw, and quarter their pitiful little egos. Let the special snowflakes melt and boil in the crucible of truth.
