From the New York Post:

Richard Carranza held ‘white-supremacy culture’ training for school admins

By Susan Edelman, Selim Algar and Aaron Feis May 20, 2019

City Department of Education brass are targeting a “white-supremacy culture” among school administrators — by disparaging ideas like “individualism,” “objectivity” and “worship of the written word,” The Post has learned.

A presentation slide obtained by The Post offers a bullet-point description of the systemic, supposedly pro-white favoritism that Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza claims must be eradicated from the DOE, and provides just one insight into his anti-bias training efforts.

The list — derived from “Dismantling Racism: A Workbook for Social Change Groups” by Kenneth Jones and Tema Okun — names more than a dozen hallmarks of “white-supremacy culture” that school administrators are expected to steer clear of. …

“It requires discomfort,” said Matt Gonzales, who serves as an outside adviser on the DOE’s school diversity task force and is a director of New York Appleseed, an advocacy group for school integration.

“Having to talk about someone’s own whiteness is a requirement for them to become liberated.”

… But Carranza said on Monday that such skeptics often don’t realize their own biases until they are forced to confront them and that they are likely the ones who need the training the most.

“It’s good work. It’s hard work,” Carranza said. “And I would hope that anybody that feels that somehow that process is not beneficial to them, I would very respectfully say they are the ones that need to reflect even harder upon what they believe.”

But one Manhattan middle school teacher who underwent mandatory implicit-bias training in December said … “It feels like I’m in a dystopian novel where all of a sudden being white is bad. All of a sudden, I’m the enemy.”

Carranza’s consistent argument is that, in effect, It’s All About The Bell Curve: either you are one of those vicious racists who suspects Herrnstein and Murray are right or you need to enlist in his crusade against whiteness:

Confronting the Elephant in the Classroom

Kossoff Lecturer Richard Carranza takes on segregation in New York City’s schools

When New York City Public Schools Chancellor Richard Carranza stepped to the podium to deliver TC’s 2018 Phyllis L. Kossoff Lecture in Education & Policy …

“My priority for this school year – and every moment I’m New York City Schools Chancellor – is to advance equity now,” Carranza told a Cowin Auditorium audience of TC administrators, faculty, students, staff and alumni. …

… At the elite Stuyvesant High School, for example, just 3 percent of this year’s incoming students are black.

Stuyvesant is 74% Asian, but let’s talk about evil whiteness.

“In a city like New York City, with a public school system like New York City’s system, how can that be OK?” he asked. “Either the students are biologically, genealogically, psychologically incapable of being admitted to a school like Stuyvesant – or perhaps there are systems and structures to identify students for that opportunity that are not calibrated to who our students are.” …

To supplement the learning initiatives, Carranza has mandated that 125,000 teachers, administrators and other members of the city-wide instructional staff participate in anti-bias training between now and 2022.

He said the training is designed to help teachers and administrators see one another, students and parents “as people, not as a demographic. This is a powerful way to break down stereotypes.”

Or to stereotype white people as The Enemy …

Keep in mind that there aren’t many white students even left in New York City public schools (just 15%), with whites only the 4th biggest group. But the psychological beatings will increase until morale improves.

Wesley Yang writes:

The distinctive jargon deployed in these training sessions are rooted in a successor ideology that is being mandated from above in universities and foundations.

Once confined to marginal academic departments, these concepts will sweep through institutional liberalism. …There are those who insist that the successor ideology is merely a manifestation of the yearning for equality among college students or marginalized voices on social media. They are simply mistaken. It is the new language of power throughout the non-profit sphere. …

The successor ideology is what happens when ideas meant to encourage critical self-reflection become a part of an echo chamber and grow increasingly divorced from reality.

The list takes on the coloration of every romantic, reactionary, and left-wing shibboleth ever created.

From eco-feminism to Carlos Castenada to Carol Gilligan to German Romanticism, there isn’t a single woolly-headed critique of Western philosophy that isn’t thrown willy-nilly into this stew and presented as authoritative, despite the obvious internal inconsistency.

You can believe in any soft-major world-view you want, from the most intellectually distinguished to the most crackpot, as long as you subscribe to Hate Whiteyness.

Lomez responds:

The successor ideology as an amalgam of all of these disparate and contradictory fringe beliefs is a feature, since it shields critique and any coherent interrogation of the ideology’s roots and core goals and motivations.

Who is conducting this anti-bias training for 125,000 school personnel? What will it cost the tax payers? Do the people conducting the training make more or less per hour than the trainees? What provisions are made to protect the trainees from violent out-bursts by trainees who will not or can not comprehend the material?

  4. Let’s just call it “civilization” and be done with it.

  5. “Either the students are biologically, genealogically, psychologically incapable of being admitted to a school like Stuyvesant – or perhaps there are systems and structures to identify students for that opportunity that are not calibrated to who our students are.” …

No matter how bold the truth, some still ignore it.

No more Perfectionism. (No more seeking an ideal, a perfect form. Plato, anyone? No more excellence, because our students cannot achieve it and are not genetically capable of even striving for it. Furthermore, they can’t hold two ideas in mind at once: 1. That there is a perfect form of whatever it is you are trying to accomplish, and 2. Y0u can come increasingly close to it as you keep it in mind as a goal.)

No more respect for The Written Word. (Apparently we must abolish respect for this in our schools, so that people who never created literature and written records can keep up, feel comfortable and pass.)

No more Individualism. (Can’t have that! Respect for the individual, liberty and responsibility are not compatible with whoever we’re talking about.)

We should encourage Richard Carranza and his allies in this anti-white vendetta. Carranza’s vendetta hurts one portion of our enemies: SJW whites who regard us and our views worse than something that the cat dragged in. Anti-white animus coursing through the schools will make big city American life near impossible for middle-class, SJW whites. Decent schools (along with trendy neighborhoods) are the oases for these people, the respite from the dysfunction and grime that will surely come surging back to America’s cities sometime soon. Wall Street, Google, Amazon, et. al, cannot alter the fundamental facts of demographics, and the demographics of the USA going forward are dead set against SJW whites, especially in urban areas, as much as it is against ourselves.

And the schools also provide steady employment for SJWs, with decent salaries and excellent benefits. Here’s for hoping that Carranza makes things so hot that SJWs decide that they must flee and decamp for the ‘burbs. Yeah, we will never convert SJWs themselves, but their children will almost certainly be red-pilled from the trauma of being schooled in an environment that is so explicitly anti-white.

The worser it gets, the better it gets. Go Carranza.

“you need to enlist in his crusade against whiteness”

Not against whiteness, but white supremacy. There is a difference.

Regardless, if one simply replaced the title “white supremacy” with “SWJism” or “Alt Rightism” in that graphic, it would be most accurate of each extremist side.

Let us NOTICE–Consider how the Alt Right intellectual elites sucker people into proving how race realism is superior to all other concepts. As that is the directive, the “thinkers” must never be challenged, for their truths are “obvious” and “factual”. And through the past decade, the Alt Right has written endlessly about this one theme; anything else is automatically false.

It’s like kids and the Easter-egg hunt. If you tell a bunch of kids to go looking for Easter eggs in a park, their minds will shut off to all the other wonders and realities of the park. They won’t care about flowers, trees, ducks, squirrels, and butterflies. Their minds will be obsessively focused on the Easter eggs as the only goal, only purpose, only truth, only reward, only meaning. Like Easter Eggs, they’ve been pre-planted by the Controllers, in this case the intelligentsia of the Alt Right.

After all, kids who find Easter Eggs are not unearthing anything new. They are just “finding” something that the Alt Right wanted them to find. The “conclusions” have already been decided for them. If they arrive at those “conclusions”, they are rewarded. If they settle for different conclusions that goes against the Narrative and Iconography, they are punished. They really have no choice. And Alt-Right intellectuals and scholars insist that certain idols and icons must be worshipped. As a result, they will hysterically eviscerate any “bad thought”.

Another moment in NOTICING–Consider how the SJW intellectual elites sucker people into proving how white privilege is superior to all other concepts. As that is the directive, the “thinkers” must never be challenged, for their truths are “obvious” and “factual”. And through the past decade, SJW’s have written endlessly about this one theme; anything else is automatically false.

I get why it is appealing to some people, because human psychology generally prefers simplicity over complexity.

So, kids, remember Sailer’s first law of NOTICING THE UNNOTICED–The media, mainstream or alternative, furnishes us with convenient concepts, such as “white fragility”, “safe spaces”, “race realism”, or “KKKrazyKlue”, that make it easier to remember the facts they prefer you to know and harder to remember the facts that undermine the concepts.

And knowing is half the battle!

At least those white people aren’t evil enough to value consistency.

  13. Anon[819] • Disclaimer says:

    “No more Perfectionism”

Translation: Expect less from minorities because they aren’t as capable.

“No more respect for The Written Word.”

Translation: No more need for facts and figures that disprove our narrative.

    “No more Individualism.”

Translation: Don’t promote your own accomplishments because they easily outshine ours and make us feel bad.

    “Sense of urgency”

Translation: Don’t mention to others that you’re more likely to show up at work on time and work longer hours with fewer interruptions.

    “Defensiveness”

Translation: Just believe whatever you’re told, no matter how bad, because that’s the only way we’re going to make this thing work.

    “Quantity over Quality”

Translation: You work harder than minorities, so we have to rebrand this as bad and somehow detracting from quality … which you also do better for some reason.

    “Only one right way”

Translation: You quickly identify the most efficient way to do something because you’re smarter, but we have to pretend that this is just you bullying other people with good ideas because you’re a racist.

    “Paternalism”

Translation: You value the organization over yourself, so you take it upon yourself to check everyone’s work and help out to achieve the best possible result for everyone. This makes others look bad because they are poor workers and only care about themselves.

    “Either/or thinking”

Translation: You think things should be done the right way over an obviously dumb way, so you speak out and prove your case, which makes other inferior workers feel bad.

    “Fear of Open Conflict”

Translation: You preemptively resolve problems between coworkers instead of loudly, and unproductively, arguing with others. Your demographic is pretty much the only one that bothers with that sort of stuff, and doing so makes you look good, so we have to recast that as somehow being bad.

    “Progress is bigger, more”

Translation: You achieve results – and expect to achieve results – that your dumb coworkers can’t or don’t, so we have to discourage you from doing that by making it sound bad. Just accept inferior results and don’t stand out, which would make us look bad. If nothing changes, repeat to yourself that progress isn’t always measured by objective measures of actual progress.

    “Objectivity”

Translation: You’re the kind of guy who judges poor quality results and thinks things could be done a better way. But that is biased against the people who do poor-quality work because it embarrasses them, so just don’t point that out anymore and remain objective. It’s possible that for some people 2 + 2 really does equal 5.

    “Right to comfort”

Translation: Don’t hurt any fee fees by outshining the dumbass next to you.

In contrast black African and Caribbean nations where perfectionism isn’t valued (“you tried and that’s good enough”); where there never is any urgency (“the sewer pipe is broken, don’t worry we’ll fix it tomorrow or maybe next week or maybe next year”); where politeness and civil behavior are considered limits on personal expression and conflict is rewarded; where bring financial prudence is scorned; where emotions are valued more than empirical results, are all disfunctional societies.

And the reason why black and brown people all want to come to white countries is that they know “white supremacy culture” works.

Most of this seems a critique of the kind of highly remote elitist political establishment one finds at the end of empires than a critique of ‘whiteness’ but once again cosmopolitan American SJWs prove they live in an Anerican-centric bubble. Though weirdly it also simultaneously exists as a form of buffer against any real challenge to those elites and relies on the same elites patronage.

I do love ‘Objectivity’ though. I don’t know when post-modernism declared war on that, but doesn’t it imply all intellectual debate is irrelevant and all we have are self-serving narratives for everything. (Not to say perception has consequences, see the American rights determination no to give Al Gore or Greenpeace the satisfaction of admitting the greenhouse effect is real, all those physicists and chemists are really just sociology SJWs.) Motte and Bailey.

You attack whipipo without quarter and when called on it retreat to a plausible defense of your critique of the nebulous “white supremacy.”

“White supremacy” as a concept itself degenerates into white people existing and achieving things where there remains an achievement gap between whites and POCs. The only permissible reason for any such gap is “white supremacy.”

Do yourself a favor and do an internet search for “white supremacy” and anything else – you’re likely to get some hits for the most bizarre combinations.

    “White supremacy and milk”

  22. A lot of that is anti-boss training, and however many brownie points these state employees get from going along with this, it’ll end up hurting kids in the world of employment.

Take their definition of “defensiveness,” which sounds like a battle cry against the office Establishment, telling kids they have the right to insist on changing the procedures at work, regardless of what the boss says.

They’re gonna find that the “paternalism” is really maternal-ism in many cases, and momma bosses often have a “right to comfort” that they spread around to their fellow, frequently absentee, crony-mom underlings, but not to the other lowly employees whose opinion they do not ask for in most cases.

Although they need to make quality sales to ensure repeat business, taking the “quality over quantity” rule seriously would be a nightmare for salespeople who can definitely lose their jobs for failing to meet quotas, as can their quantity-minded bosses in the many fields that are numbers games.

Ditto for “progress is bigger, more” since—to your boss’ bonus pay—bigger and progress are synonymous.

Although government workers get paid to churn out a lot of papers, students can relax about that “worship of the written word” unless the cutesy, one-sentence captions under the show-off baby photos that light up cubicleland count as word worship.

You’ve covered the points well. Taken together, they amount to an argument against Arete.

Arete (Greek: ἀρετή), in its basic sense, means “excellence of any kind”. The term may also mean “moral virtue”. In its earliest appearance in Greek, this notion of excellence was ultimately bound up with the notion of the fulfillment of purpose or function: the act of living up to one’s full potential.

On the other hand, if you are running a university, non-profit or government agency, you can still use the training materials to eliminate “White Supremacy Culture” and replace it with “POC Dysfunction Culture” that will make minorities feel more at home. You simply do the opposite of White Culture. For example:

So goes the wishful thinking of many here. What these policies are hastening are the disenfranchisement, dispossession, and ultimately the enslaving of our children and their children. It’s nothing to be celebrating. It’s something to be resisted, as vociferously and even as violently as necessary.

The ‘break-up’ you envision could only happen if there were some sort of convenient geographical segregation, and that isn’t remotely the case. What’s actually coming will be nationwide–heck, it already is–and it won’t be fun or ‘uplifting’. Look at South Africa for an example.

    “Quantity over Quality”

This is odd for them to list. I know they are supposedly discussing White Supremacy Culture, but Western nations, otherwise known as White ones, have for a while stressed quality over quantity. If you look at the Cold War face off between the Warsaw Pact and NATO, the former was built around quantity, the latter quality. Wasn’t it Stalin who coined the phrase quantity has a quality all its own?

We are the ones who are notorious for building extremely expensive items that we can’t afford to buy in large amounts, like the F-22. Government contracts overspec everything to the point it becomes too costly.

The purpose of defense contracts is to spend as much of other people’s money as possible. The procured item should also work well, but the really important thing is to spend money, lots of it, so you get more money in your budget next year, a bigger fiefdom to run, and, when you retire, a cushy contractor job.

The first airplane a new student Air Force pilot flies costs five million. Private aviation insurers won’t write a policy to let a student pilot fly a $500K airplane, no matter the premiums, let alone five million. The airplane is a Beech built copy of a Swiss aircraft that cost 2.5 million. The engine costs over half a million (getting prices out of PWC is like pulling teeth). It’s a bald faced scam. Indexed for real inflation an aircraft sheet metal worker at Beech makes less than he did in 1975.

Once a company gets defense contracts, they become a spoiled contractor. They fail to pursue civilian business and get assholish with their existing civilian customers. I’ve seen it at places I worked. Beech still offers a 1947 airplane at a price that is four times the 1947 price adjusted for inflation, with the same museum piece free air cooled magneto ignition engine that needs a flight engineer to run it (but who isn’t there) , and then bitches there is too small a market for this turkey. Yes, it has a modern flat panel avionics suite, but that costs maybe a hundred grand, and is still wildly overpriced, using 486 class CPUs and 1990s looking graphics.

if developer_docs == bad then app_quality = bad; Coders slam Apple for subpar API manuals

Apple developers are becoming increasingly vocal about their displeasure with the state of the iGiant’s programmer documentation, which they depend upon to craft iOS and macOS software.

In a blog post on Monday, macOS developer Michael Tsai makes note of a handful of fellow coders expressing discontent with Apple’s instructions for working with its technology.

In an email to The Register, Tsai said he didn’t know why Apple’s documentation is in such a poor state. “There really isn’t much visibility for those of us on the outside,” he said. “Apple does seem to be introducing new and changed APIs at a faster rate, so there is likely more work to be done. But it’s not clear why they can’t hire enough people to keep up or why they’re hiding or discarding the older documentation that hasn’t been replaced yet.”

For Apple, subpar documentation raises the likelihood of subpar apps from developers and makes its software platforms less hospitable.

Anguish’s complaint elicited replies from a number of other developers facing similar frustrations.

“The amount of issues in their docs is astounding,” said software developer Charlie Fish.

Tony Arnold, lead developer at Itty Bitty Apps said, “Apple’s developer docs are dreadful right now.”

Behind this campaign for “equity” is simply the old Marxist agenda- class warfare now being replaced by racial warfare. These leftists reject equal opportunity- they demand that our society produces equal outcomes. This is the same mentality recently exposed in an Ohio school where a principal wanted to dispense with the valedictorian. Somehow it’s become bad to be an exceptional student– to have class rankings- and especially if what, a valedictorian happened to have white skin? Someone might get their feelings hurt? It’s the same mentality of those who want to get rid of the SAT- God forbid some students might excel at aptitude tests- and that colleges can use the SAT to recruit the best students. Leftists fear competition– and resent achievement. With that warped attitude, they have no place in the educational system. They need to be mindful of Martin Luther King Jr’s call for a “colour blind” society, one which judges people by their character instead of being obsessed with the amount of melanin in people’s skin.

Let us NOTICE–Consider how the Alt Right intellectual elites sucker people into proving how race realism is superior to all other concepts

Another moment in NOTICING–Consider how the SJW intellectual elites sucker people into proving how white privilege is superior to all other concepts.

This is because racial cohesion is what generates the only real political power that lasts past one generation.

Individual ethnic-racial cooperation breeds the strongest community loyalty between generations, which will lead to the widest and deepest sharing of politically meaningful resources for the political group (wealth, information that generates or preserves wealth and power, political seats, jobs, etc). Nothing else compares.

Therefore, the strongest racially bonded group wins because they will always generate the most political power over time; assuming that they can cooperate functionally (ie: blacks have racial awareness and are allowed to cooperate but are not individually predisposed to doing so across the group and so they fail hard as a group).

Therefore, Jews (who clearly prize this truth) and their liberal golems attack the political power generator (racial community cohesion) of any group that can threaten Jewish power.

Therefore the alt Right emphasizes the power generator.

This is what is true, this is what you miss, and it is no more complex than this. There is no meaningful retort to this anymore than there is the force of gravity, because this is the central political power principle. This is what is at stake. Everything else is a distraction. No groups can avoid this truth, whether they want to generate and preserve true political power for themselves or attack that of another meaningful group, and therefore this is what is focused upon. This is the grand correlation that you are spinning into an unfocused centrist plea with no meaningful alternative for political focus (because one does not exist due to race’s center place in political power generation).

So next time try writing less than nine rambling paragraphs in order to try to convince the crowd of whatever you are choosing to see in your grand conspiracy that attempts to validate the powerless and absolutely, inevitably dead political center.

There is a skill in knowing that you don’t know when your concepts are hazy, and keeping your fingers off of the keyboard in those circumstances to prevent wasting everyone’s time.

Not against whiteness, but white supremacy. There is a difference.

There is no functional difference, as “Whiteness” is frequently attacked and will be more so in the future. The crowd discipline does not exist for there to be a functional difference.

You are attempting to take away the political self determination of a group of people. You won’t let them live independently of you nor have control over their communities. There are no other groups over which control is so desired. Every other group is allowed their independence and space where they want it and can afford to pay for it.

What your politics essentially say is that you desperately need White people and cannot allow them to escape in any manner, likely in fear that most will choose to escape (what does that say about you?). You must keep and control them to continue to gain whatever benefits vampires wish to accrue. Essentially admitting an innate White genetic Supremacy that you require to survive, apparently. The result is that eventually you will kill your host. It is already dying. The morbid results are evident across most of our major cities, observable through a wide variety of measurements.

    From Wikipedia:

This article is about the philosophical concept. For the thin ridge of rock formed by glaciers, see Arête.

“This is because racial cohesion is what generates the only real political power that lasts past one generation.”

That is patently false. We have borne witness to whites, blacks, browns, and yellows unite during the Progressive Era, as well as during the Great Depression, toward a common cause to make reforms. Besides, what do you mean by “real political power”? What are the metrics involved?

“Individual ethnic-racial cooperation breeds the strongest community loyalty between generations…”

Tell that to WASPs, who were dead-set against the inclusion of Southern and Eastern Europeans into the body politic in the late 1800’s.

“Therefore, the strongest racially bonded group wins because they will always generate the most political power over time; assuming that they can cooperate functionally…”

Considering that white Americans hold a wide range of beliefs, whether it be political or religious, to expect them to bond according to racial unity is a pipe dream. Look at the Civil Rights movement of the 1960’s as a prime example.

“(ie: blacks have racial awareness and are allowed to cooperate but are not individually predisposed to doing so across the group and so they fail hard as a group).”

    What are these “predispositions”?

“Therefore, Jews (who clearly prize this truth) and their liberal golems attack the political power generator (racial community cohesion) of any group that can threaten Jewish power.”

Right, it’s the Jews. It’s always the Jews. Ma’am, do you relish playing the victim card?

This is what is true, this is what you miss, and it is no more complex than this. There is no meaningful retort to this anymore than there is the force of gravity, because this is the central political power principle. This is what is at stake. Everything else is a distraction.

“No groups can avoid this truth…”

You mean what you believe to be the truth.

“There is a skill in knowing that you don’t know when your concepts are hazy, and keeping your fingers off of the keyboard in those circumstances to prevent wasting everyone’s time.”

I suggest following your own advice.

“There is no functional difference, as “Whiteness” is frequently attacked and will be more so in the future.”

Actually, “whiteness” in and of itself is not attacked, it is when it is embedded with “white supremacy”. Context matters here.

“You are attempting to take away the political self determination of a group of people.”

Of course I am doing no such thing. White people have the liberty to form their own groups and speak their mind. However, there will always be positive and negative consequences as a result of such associations.

“What your politics essentially say is that you desperately need White people and cannot allow them to escape in any manner, likely in fear that most will choose to escape (what does that say about you?)”

That would be a strawman on your part.

“Essentially admitting an innate White genetic Supremacy…”

    That would be Fake News.

“The result is that eventually you will kill your host”.

Assuming that the “host” is in the process of being “murdered”, what actions are you directly taking to prevent this 187 other than lamenting on a blog? Armchair warrior pie in the sky notions need not apply.

Uh man, what kind of reality is THAT???

Did Big Communism actually succeed in the USA?

Or was it just something from old movie reels full of bullshit & propaganda?

Especially for the “Great Depression” … “a common cause to make reforms” while FDR couldn’t even find his own ass being rent by mendacity, hubris and ignorance of economics. Setting up Stalinist administrative fiefs, yep, that he could do. Great Success!

I never stated nor implied that communism in America was successful. Strawman much?

I discovered that there is a name for this, kafkatrap.

To accuse someone of some form of “ism” (sexism, racism etc.) and to proclaim that their denial, or any attempt they make to defend themselves, is proof that they are guilty.

Thanks for your reply. I worked at GE where six sigma methods seemed only to be employed to kibosh good ideas. I agree the precepts were sound. It’s good to hear it wasn’t a wind blowing no one good.
