From NBC News (WCNC) in Charlotte, North Carolina:

Alleged hate crime, arson under investigation in east Charlotte

A hate crime is under investigation in east Charlotte.

Alex Shabad , WCNC 5:58 PM. EDT April 07, 2017

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Police in east Charlotte are actively searching for a man accused of lighting an arson fire and leaving behind a disturbing note.

Investigators tell NBC Charlotte the incident is being investigated as a hate crime. The letter threatened to torture the refugee business owner of Central Market on Albemarle Road.

CMPD investigating hate crime after arson and threatening letter signed “White America”. @wcnc

Police say the letter was signed “White America,” but the suspect is a black man.

The fire at the front door eventually burned itself out, but the letter is still fanning the flames. It references President Trump, then goes on to threaten the store owner with torture if he doesn’t “go back where he came from.”

“Scared for my life because the letter shows that warning,” says Kamal Dhimal, owner of Central Market.

Police believe the letter was signed “White America” by an African-American suspect shown in video surveillance. Investigators say he threw a brick through the door, entered the store, and set the door on fire.

In possibly related Coalition of the Fringes news from earlier this week in South Carolina, a black shoplifter was kicked around by a sword-wielding immigrant shopkeeper:

NAN S.C. leader tells North Charleston store employees to ‘go back to their country’ after video of violence with alleged shoplifter
By Angie Jackson [email protected] Apr 3, 2017

A screenshot of a bystander’s video shared to Facebook shows an employee of Andrew’s Discount Market swinging a sword at a shoplifting suspect in North Charleston.

James Johnson of the National Action Network [founded by Al Sharpton] stood flanked by relatives of a shoplifting suspect Monday, then pointed behind him toward a convenience store and told reporters the business’s employees need to “go back to their country.”

The civil rights leader’s comments came during a news conference he organized to address a cellphone video from Andrew’s Discount Market. The recording shows its employees hitting the suspect with a sword and pushing him around the store.

Johnson, who is black, referred to employees of the North Charleston store as “Arab” and “foreigner” and questioned if they are in the country legally.

“We want (the store owner) out of our community completely. We want him gone out of the community,” Johnson, the state president of NAN, said near the Dorchester Road business. “They need to go back to their country where their laws are different from our laws.”

Tyrone Deon Mazyck, 38, was arrested and charged with shoplifting after the March 29 incident. The owner of the convenience store said Mazyck threatened and fought with three employees after trying to steal incense.

Who among us hasn’t been overwhelmed by the urge to have some incense right now?

The store’s owner, who identified himself only as Alex, said Mazyck started the altercation by pushing the clerks and cutting them with a knife.

Seriously, what’s the deal with incense? Why do discount markets carry incense? I’ve gone through life assuming that if I really needed to obtain some incense I’d have to find a passing Magi, or at least a Roman Catholic Church supply warehouse.

And you know what? I was okay with that.

Is it some new quasi-legal drug thing?

“I’m brown, too. What’s wrong now? I’m African. You don’t know that?” the clerk told them before they stormed out.

Maybe Trump should try to pry blacks away from the Democrats by selling them a nationalistic immigration policy. Jobs + borders.

Johnson said they weren't going to allow these stores to rape their community. Stop back in six months for the discussion on how North Charleston is now a "Food Desert." Isn't this how Al Sharpton got his start? And where is Al now? Hell, where is Obama?

In Detroit, Arab storekeepers have occasionally locked up black thieves store basements for awhile before dumping them on the street.

  3. Ethnic Slander or Race Slander.

It’s like gentiles poisoning a well and then blaming it on Jews.
That be scapegoating and framing innocents.
This is like hate-goating and hate-framing.

  4. Phrase of the week: “Police say the letter was signed ‘White America,’ but the suspect is a black man.”

  5. In “Bizarro World”, we construct our self-chosen realities (it’s kind of a post-post-modernist thing). It’s like out of Michael Foucault, the French post-Existentialist thinker dude.

Anyway, my self-chosen reality at that particular moment (it’s sort of like an Event Horizon) in the space-time foam (where everything is relative) was as the caped villain “White America”. That’s who I chose to self-identify with right then. That was my chosen ethnic and civic Identity. It’s the difference between Sein and Dasein. I chose design because of my interest in Hip-Hop fashion and style.

So, I did not misrepresent the truth as I felt it then. I think there’s lots of lawyers who would be willing to argue this before the Supreme Court. I think the Honourable Court would give such a view as mine a respectful hearing.

    I might very well win.

  6. Was it stamped and signed by a notary public? If not, that’s forgery. One could also tell it’s a forgery by the fact that “white America”, were it to commit arson, would use proper accelerant and fuel, and not put the note right next to our fire. But, that’s just us.

Who among us hasn’t been overwhelmed by the urge to have some incense right now?

    ;-}

  8. How many times does it take for the same scam to be recognised as bogus?

  9. Synthetic cannabinoids like K2/Spice were marketed as “herbal incense.” For example, see: https://www.chemistryworld.com/news/synthetic-cannabis-mimic-found-in-herbal-incense/3003869.article

I don’t know if it is still going on, the government cracked down on the well-known compounds a few years back.

    • Replies: @Laugh Track
I do think this earns a "Bingo!"

Go one step farther and find out who manufactures the synthetics. The answer might be interesting.
  10. If he had signed it “Black America” it would have 1) served as a more probable threat to the shop owner 2) kept it out of the news.

Which raises an obvious question, how long until the serious white lunatics (as opposed to twitter trolls doing it for yucks) decide they ought to false-flag against immigration as BLM?

  11. This highlights a trend that’s going to become more noticeable: in our increasingly multicultural future, good old black vs. white violence is going to become relatively more rare. Instead, minority-minority violence will soon be the Hot New Thing.

    • Replies: @Buffalo Joe
pgbh, Problem is that black on black violence often kills innocent bystanders, as for instance, the Adjunct Professor of Art at Cleveland State U, killed in a daylight shoot out in Cleveland.

  14. Timely article on Kushner:

How did ‘less than stellar’ high school student Jared Kushner get into Harvard?
    by Daniel Golden

I would like to express my gratitude to Jared Kushner for reviving interest in my 2006 book, The Price of Admission. …

My book exposed a grubby secret of American higher education: that the rich buy their underachieving children’s way into elite universities with massive, tax-deductible donations. …

“There was no way anybody in the administrative office of the school thought he would on the merits get into Harvard,’’ a former official at the Frisch school in Paramus, New Jersey, told me. “His GPA [grade point average] did not warrant it, his SAT scores did not warrant it. We thought, for sure, there was no way this was going to happen.

Risa Heller, a spokeswoman for Kushner Companies, said in an email on Thursday that “the allegation’’ that Charles Kushner’s gift to Harvard was related to Jared’s admission “is and always has been false”. His parents, Charles and Seryl Kushner, “are enormously generous and have donated over $100m to universities, hospitals and other charitable causes. Jared Kushner was an excellent student in high school and graduated from Harvard with honours.’’ (About 90% of Jared’s 2003 class at Harvard also graduated with honours.)

My Kushner discoveries were an offshoot of my research for a chapter on Harvard donors. Somebody had slipped me a document I had long coveted: the membership list of Harvard’s Committee on University Resources. The university wooed more than 400 of its biggest givers and most promising prospects by putting them on this committee and inviting them to campus periodically to be wined, dined and subjected to lectures by eminent professors.

My idea was to figure out how many children of these corporate titans, oil barons, money managers, lawyers, high-tech consultants and old-money heirs had gone to Harvard. …

I began working through the list, poring over Who’s Who in America and Harvard class reunion reports for family information. Charles and Seryl Kushner were both on the committee. I had never heard of them, but their joint presence struck me as a sign that Harvard’s fundraising machine held the couple in especially fond regard. …

Unlike most of his fellow committee members, though, Kushner was not a Harvard man. He had graduated from New York University. This eliminated the sentimental tug of the alma mater as a reason for him to give to Harvard, leaving another likely explanation: his children.

Of the 400-plus tycoons on Harvard’s list – which included people who were childless or too young to have college-age offspring – more than half had sent at least one child to the university.

I also decided that the Kushner-Harvard relationship deserved special attention. Although the university often heralded big gifts in press releases or a bulletin called, in a classic example of fundraising wit, Re:sources, a search of these outlets came up empty. Harvard didn’t seem eager to be publicly associated with Charles Kushner.

While looking into Kushner’s taxes, though, federal authorities had subpoenaed records of his charitable giving. I learned that in 1998, when Jared was attending the Frisch school and starting to look at colleges, his father had pledged $2.5m to Harvard, to be paid in annual instalments of $250,000. Charles Kushner also visited Neil Rudenstine, then Harvard president, and discussed funding a scholarship programme for low- and middle-income students.

The book is very good, and has lots of things that may be of interest to iSteve readers.

  36. Steve, blacks love incense. I’ve recently learned of this personally, as a black fellow moved into the floor below me in our Brooklyn apt building. Stand up kid, male nurse, grew up in a more “urban” part of the borough, soft spoken to the point that one can’t be certain of sexual orientation. The incense began almost immediately. I think its purpose is mainly as a masking smell for marijuana, though that is due to his poor understanding of the norms of the other residents.. who smoke w/o much need to mask anything. Maybe he feels that being black he needs to be more cautious..

    • Replies: @Gary in Gramercy
Native Brooklynite here, lived in ENY, Brownsville (really) and Cobble Hill; now live (see handle) close by Gramercy Park. ("Movin' on up...to the East Side..." to that tiny, but rent-stabilized, studio. Location, location, location.)

Best guess: You live in Park Slope South (not prime PS, near Grand Army Plaza, but more like 3rd or 4th Ave. near 15th Street, close by the F/R trains) or Prospect Heights (again, far from GAP, more like way down Washington Avenue, closer to Fulton than to the Brooklyn Museum but still inside the 10038 zip code, right?), and your male nurse hails from Brownsville/East New York/Bed-Stuy, and is doing his best to adapt to local SJW (but white) norms. Count yourself lucky: most blacks from The Hood won't so much as acknowledge the existence of white norms, much less make an attempt to follow them.

"Maybe he feels that being black he needs to be more cautious." This is obviously the first time you have lived among blacks in NYC. My congratulations on having found the standard deviant.

A clerk worked quietly at Andrew’s Discount Market on Monday as calls from Johnson and other protesters to “close this store down now” could be heard.

The clerk asked why the people were talking about “black and white.”

“I’m brown, too. What’s wrong now? I’m African. You don’t know that?” the clerk told them before they stormed out.

Maybe Trump should try to pry blacks away from the Democrats by selling them a nationalistic immigration policy. Jobs + borders.

But President Kushner wouldn't let him.

In Detroit, Arab storekeepers have occasionally locked up black thieves store basements for awhile before dumping them on the street.

That gives rise to a question many terrified heterosexual males have encountered: is the Pulp Fiction pawn shop scene conceivable?

  39. Buying incense: various types are available widely. I think discount stores sell it in BC too.

If you want the type of incense used in churches, it’s easiest to buy it online. If you’re in a big city, you might be able to buy it in person.

You’ll need charcoal and an incense burner too.

Reorder as needed and you never run out, not that running out seems like an emergency situation.

  40. ‘Tyrone Deon Mazyck, 38, was arrested and charged with shoplifting after the March 29 incident.’

Mazyck? Clearly an absentee white father.

This highlights a trend that's going to become more noticeable: in our increasingly multicultural future, good old black vs. white violence is going to become relatively more rare. Instead, minority-minority violence will soon be the Hot New Thing.

I doubt that the MSM will cover black/immigrant violence any more than it covers black/black violence.

    It fits no leftist narrative.

Steve, blacks love incense. I've recently learned of this personally, as a black fellow moved into the floor below me in our Brooklyn apt building. Stand up kid, male nurse, grew up in a more "urban" part of the borough, soft spoken to the point that one can't be certain of sexual orientation. The incense began almost immediately. I think its purpose is mainly as a masking smell for marijuana, though that is due to his poor understanding of the norms of the other residents.. who smoke w/o much need to mask anything. Maybe he feels that being black he needs to be more cautious..

Native Brooklynite here, lived in ENY, Brownsville (really) and Cobble Hill; now live (see handle) close by Gramercy Park. (“Movin’ on up…to the East Side…” to that tiny, but rent-stabilized, studio.

Count yourself lucky: most blacks from The Hood won’t so much as acknowledge the existence of white norms, much less make an attempt to follow them.

“Maybe he feels that being black he needs to be more cautious.” This is obviously the first time you have lived among blacks in NYC. My congratulations on having found the standard deviant.

Good deduction skills. But no, I'm not naive to the ways of the brothers. Prior to this, I've always lived right near some projects, in some borough, lived in all of them. These experiences have brought me to the iSteve universe. I have no illusions, but this one is different, there's more information that supports my understanding. Example, when he moved in, at times there'd be very loud music played some nights. My knocking on the door at 1am was ignored. But I did mention it a few days later, turns out his ghetto sister stays there sometimes (when he has night shifts) she being the true sister you envision. The music hasn't been an issue since.

Synthetic cannabinoids like K2/Spice were marketed as "herbal incense." For example, see: https://www.chemistryworld.com/news/synthetic-cannabis-mimic-found-in-herbal-incense/3003869.article

I don't know if it is still going on, the government cracked down on the well-known compounds a few years back.

I do think this earns a “Bingo!”

Go one step farther and find out who manufactures the synthetics. The answer might be interesting.

  44. Why do discount markets carry incense? I’ve gone through life assuming that if I really needed to obtain some incense I’d have to find a passing Magi, or at least a Roman Catholic Church supply warehouse.

    Literal lol. You’re a legend.

  45. Google-Americans love incense, and scented oils, and artificially-enhanced potpourris too.

Visit any liquor store in a neighborhood like Baldwin Hills and you will find a large selection of incenses and so-forth.

Some people suggest that incense is burnt to disguise the odor of burning cannabis, but I think there’s more to it than that. Some users want to mask other unpleasant odors, or simply to provide themselves a strong sensation (pleasant for them, not necessarily others). Many googles think incense and perfumes heighten sexual pleasure, though that may have something to do with masking apocrine odors.

In-store advertising for incense primarily sold to googles emphasizes sexual themes, rather different than the Eastern-religious advertising themes attached to incense sold to whites and asians.
