Trump's Latest Triumph: Making It Appropriate to Worry About the African Overpopulation Crisis

Not only is Trump completing the system of German idealism that Kant couldn’t, but Trump has finally made it appropriate for nice white people to worry about the World’s Most Important Graph.

You see, as long as you can Blame Trump for Africa’s burgeoning billions, it’s not racist to think white people ought to do more to keep Africans from having so many babies.

From the Toronto Globe and Mail:

Trump’s aid cuts risk pushing African women ‘into the Dark Ages,’ spelling trouble for rising world population

Africa’s staggering growth is fuelling a global migration crisis and keeping millions in poverty and constant pregnancy. But Washington is cutting support for family planning programs, while Ottawa is ramping it up. In Benin, Geoffrey York takes a look at the African women whose futures are at stake

Here’s the Toronto broadsheet’s version of my graph

There's a third possibility: they emigrate en masse.

Our idiot leaders are permitting it now. Any reason not to keep it up, long past the time of our civilization's collapse? Trump might act, but he's seems to be having problems delivering on his campaign promises. Our "leader" Boy Trudeau is a complete idiot.

This is so depressing. The exploding African population has been depressing for quite some time.

I got data from the CIA World Facebook. It includes many things: among other things you can sort by many variables, including TFR (Total Fertility Rate). The number of children produced per woman.

Break even at 2.1. Most of the West is below that. The Far East Asians are even worse: Singapore is less than one kid per woman.

But not to worry. Niger women average 7 kids. I bet that makes you feel better.

Every other high rate country is in Africa (except Afghanistan).

Check it out! You can even download the data into comma separated fields all ready for Excel.

"...cheeper access to birth control probably won't matter much"

Ok - but we have to try even though.

What we see right now is as follows: Wherever family-planning (let's put it in this friendly way) programs are offered, the women accept them - even strive for them.

The EU (and Germany especially) has quite some of such programs running in Africa. - Supported here and there by two well known Americans called Melinda & Bill Gates.

Melinda - not Bill, for whatever reason, every once in a while opposes even her Church for not taking part in these family-planning efforts. - Unfortunately, Christians in Africa are still disseminating (sigh!) the gospel of "be fruitful and multipy!"***

*** That made perfect sense by the time Christianity formed, but is clearly outdated by now - and will stay outdated, unless we, for whatever reason, come back to a hunter and gatherer and/or early peasant societies.

Vice President Pence cast the tiebreaking vote in the Senate on March 30 to send the bill to the president.

At 79 per 1,000, the unintended pregnancy rate for black women ---- ~95% of whom are Democrat voters http://www.unz.com/isteve/detailed-demographic-breakdown-of-2016-us-presidential-election/ ---- in 2011 was more than double that of non-Hispanic white women (33 per 1,000).
    [...]
Two-thirds (68%) of the 1.5 million unplanned births that occurred in 2010 were paid for by public insurance programs, primarily Medicaid. By comparison, 51% of births overall and 38% of planned births were funded by these programs.
    [...]
Without publicly funded family planning services, U.S. rates of unintended pregnancy, unplanned birth and abortion for 2014 would have been 68% higher.
    [...]
The costs associated with unintended pregnancy would be even higher if not for continued federal and state investments in family planning services. In 2010, the nationwide public investment in family planning services resulted in $13.6 billion in net savings from helping women avoid unintended pregnancies and a range of other negative reproductive health outcomes, such as HIV and other STIs, cervical cancer and infertility.

``$13.6 billion in net savings'' a year easily pays for the Wall.

The initial estimate is here: Trump’s wall will cost more than a year of the space program

But we never really knew what it would cost. Trump said it would cost about $8 billion, when prompted on the campaign trail. Our fact-checkers were skeptical, figuring, after consulting with experts, that it could near $25 billion if built to the specifications set by Trump.

i.e., If there are 11,000,000 illegals in the USA, Trump has arrested, since taking office, <0.2% of them, a number roughly comparable to the Obama running average.

Comparison: In the same period, Jan. 20 to March 13, that Trump arrested 21,000 illegals, around 100,000 new citizens have been naturalized. (700,000/year / 8.5 weeks).

Yeah, but accompanying the disease, famine and machetes will be massive waves of migration towards Europe, and even if just a small percentage of the population tries to make the trip, a small percentage of two or three billion Africans can still end western European civilization.

It would be one thing if Europe's political, media, academic and business elites viewed the world the way Viktor Orban does, but they don't.
    , @Mr. Anon
Yes, and what if those traditional african birth-control methods - machetes, AK-47s, and hand grenades - causes its' population to level out at only 2.5 billion, and only a billion Africans migrate to Europe? That still means the end of Europe as it has been known.
    , @Anonymous
Well, judging by the actions and attitudes of the present generation of Economist-whipped EU politicians - and who thinks that things will change? - the most likely outcome is 'free' African immigration into Europe in the near future. After all, we are lectured incessantly about the dire effects of 'Europe's aging population'.
Of course, once a critical mass of African population is reached in Europe, a voting bloc bent on furthering African self-interest, combined with the left, will emerge to ensure the permanence of mass African immigration.
    , @anon

Africa’s population growth is completely unsustainable, and that which has already occurred is entirely dependent on Western aid that will eventually be withdrawn. Disease, famine, and machetes will quickly accomplish what Gates’ billions did not.

they will move north in endless millions and destroy the West leading to the end of Western Aid to Africa and after that yes, it will end in disease, famine and machetes both in Africa and Europe.

    , @Hector_St_Clare
And yet, those cultural norms have....changed all over the rest of the world. Quebec used to have fertility rates higher than any African country in the 1950s. Mexico and Central America had fertility rates tied with the highest African countries today, as late as 1970. Latin American and Quebecois fertility was *proverbial*. Even as um, "traditionalist" a country as Iran has below-replacement fertility today. There's nothing about a culture that prizes high fertility that means that culture needs to persist indefinitely.

As far as Africans, specifically, go, it's an intractable problem to solve but I don't think an impossible one. Some African countries have already gotten down to fertility rates of 3 or slightly under (Botswana and Namibia, for example), and the historical trends suggest that once you make it out of a high fertility equilibrium you progress inevitably (faster or more slowly) to a low fertility one. (Equilibria of 6-7 children apiece or around 2 apiece are stable, the levels in between seem to be unstable). And of course people of African descent in other parts of the world have followed the normal demographic transition model. So it clearly must be possible somehow to *change* African mores so that they value low fertility.

I want to keep Africa’s population down even if it costs us money, because if they grow exponentially and then get hit with another round of ebola, we won’t be able to stop it from spreading over the entire continent and then heading off to other continents. Infected refugees with bring it in via boats to Southern Europe. There will be no way to quarantine all of Africa. If it leaps over to India or China, it may become unstoppable, and if it reaches South America, it’ll be brought into the US by illegals from there.

Ebola isn't actually all that scary--it kills people too quickly to spread very easily, and it can be blocked by standard precautions already in use among first-world medical personnel (masks, gloves, goggles). Something like HIV is a lot worse--you can be spreading it around for several years without showing any symptoms.

It seems kooky to have masses of Africans going to tiny cramped Europe - Africa has far more land and resources.

If it gets desperate the EU should offer to send a group to Africa to run the place efficiently. It would be like Colonialism but without whites settling there.

Everyone - Africans and Europeans and Asians for that matter would have to formally recognize that Africans are simply not capable of running that continent to the standard they or we want it to be run. They would effectively give up sovereignty to some sort of international body that would run the place efficiently for the benefit of Africans.

It's not politically feasible now, but things are going to change quickly, and I believe most Africans would prefer this to being run by a strong man kleptocrat anyway.

Some would be horrified, but I think it's far worse morally to sit back and piously wait for some pie in the sky miracle that will make all the problems go away.

How many of the arrests under Obama were of people who were crossing the border? Put another way, how much of this could be attributed to Obama goosing his stats by turning returns into removals?

    http://cis.org/ICE-Illegal-Immigrant-Deportations

Most reports suggest a dramatic decrease in border crossings. So are we talking a shift toward more internal enforcement here, and the numbers actually represent an increase in internal enforcement and fewer arrests at the border?

I suspect this is the case. Can anyone confirm?
    , @res
Let's put this into perspective over a longer time frame.
https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/fjs1112.pdf has immigration offense arrests from 1994-2012 in Figure 2 on page 4. Starting at ~10k/year, rising fairly rapidly until 2008 when it was ~80k and rising slowly 2008-2012. From the text: "Immigration arrests doubled from 1994
to 1998, doubled from 1998 to 2004, and doubled again from 2004 to 2008" Map 2 has a breakdown by state of the 414k arrests from 2008-2012. Almost all in AZ and TX, NM and Southern CA were about 10% of total.

There is more recent annual data with many details broken down by offense type (e.g. average sentence, number found guilty etc.) at https://www.bjs.gov/index.cfm?ty=pbdetail&iid=5873
(but that lacks the long time perspective info).

I find the post-2008 plateau odd because:
    1. Obama (I would have expected a decrease)
    2. The supposed decrease in illegal immigration post housing boom/crash
I also thought the Obama statistical deportation games began later than that. Any thoughts?

I thought this tidbit from the first link was interesting:

The drop in the total case processing time was due in part to a steady decrease in the number of matters declined and to an increase in the number of immigration matters disposed by U.S. magistrate beginning in 2004. In addition, the increase in immigration enforcement along the U.S.-Mexico border was accompanied by a strategy to expedite case
processing by charging first-time illegal entrants with a petty misdemeanor offense.

Another interesting bit from page 27:

Immigration offenders made up the largest number returning to federal prison within 3 years of first release
Seventeen percent of immigration offenders released in 2010 were returned to federal prison within 3 years of release, representing 40% of all recidivists over the time period. In comparison, 24% of recidivists were drug offenders and 5% were violent offenders. Immigration had the highest percentage of new offenses as a reason for return to federal prison (84%), and 16% of immigration returns were due to supervision violations. Immigration was the most common offense type of returns for new offenses.

    , @Charles Erwin Wilson

On foreign policy: Voted Trump, got Hillary.

They want it for: Meaningless social posturing that forms the basis for the “New Aristocracy” which is managerial positions that are status-dependent (unlike old-line Aristos with landed estates who had land to defend from invaders). They are also deeply feminized and the White female preference for Black women (who make even Lena Dunham look attractive) around them and also Black men (who have the advantage of high levels of aggression and relatively low IQs aka Chick Crack) thus “more Blacks” is the answer ever Aristo gives to any question.

They also frankly hate hate hate lower Whites down the social ladder, and accurately view Africans as a way to exterminate their eternal enemies, the lower classes. This is due to the extreme Gnostic/Utopian HBD elements within White people that pops up over and over and over again, White People Disease, along with status-dependent managers and deeply feminized Aristos. Its a perfect storm, take away any one leg and you don’t get “More Africans” as the answer to every question. Make Aristos non-feminized and Black males are seen as threats and Black women as attractive as a sofa. [Sadly]. Take away status-dependent aristos and replace them with landed estates and they view Africans as people taking away their only source of wealth — LAND. Take away the Idiot Gnostic Utopianism and the desire to raze society to create a perfect order and you get people invested in their heritage and history.

Oh absolutely this can continue until Africans make up the vast majority of inhabitants of the planet and Whites are little better than smart slaves — it is White HBD flaws the make this the most likely bet. White people are simply genetically flawed in: A. Treating their women too good; B. Being utopian idealists and too cooperative, and C. Being too status-dependent in a feminized, cooperative society with high levels of trust and low levels of violence.

IF every White person was like Al Capone or Billy the Kid, would **ANY** Africans ever move to any White nation? After all, no one moves to Africa. Being violent and dangerous and corrupt keeps outsiders out.

While congressional Republicans have overturned several Obama-era rules with ease under the CRA — which allows lawmakers to nullify regulations within 60 legislative days of enactment as long as the president agrees — the elimination of the Health and Human Services regulation was more controversial. Vice President Pence cast the tiebreaking vote in the Senate on March 30 to send the bill to the president.

But we never really knew what it would cost. Trump said it would cost about $8 billion, when prompted on the campaign trail. Our fact-checkers were skeptical, figuring, after consulting with experts, that it could near $25 billion if built to the specifications set by Trump.

Last add — Trump’s move to full cuckdom was inevitable. First, his kids are his most trusted advisers and will slowly push out all non-family members. They are ultra-liberal and concerned most of all about keeping their lifestyle and fashion brands alive, which depend on Lena Dunham fans. Also the deal-making line which depends on being good globalists which they are by birth and by background.

Secondly, the Alt-Right HAS NO PEOPLE. Bannon was it, basically, for Trump to find in an administrative position. Steve and Ann Coulter and Mark Steyn and John Derbyshire are great, as are the 2Kevins, but none of them has experience running large organizations where key lower administrative employees are profoundly hostile to the new policies and bosses. Steve is a great columnist — but has he run the closest thing to the Treasury Dept. — which is Goldman Sachs Investment Banking? Ann Coulter is a great writer and speaker, but has she run the closest thing to the State Dept — a big international oil company?

Personnel is policy, and there is a reason why the same people keep popping up, like Jaime Gorelick of the Clinton 9/11 coverup and such. [Sandy Berger's pants stuffed full of secret documents he took out of archives and destroyed without any comeback because Gorelick made it go away.] People in the private sector are all hard-core globalists aka cucks because thats what gets promoted in places like Exxon-Mobil or Goldman-Sachs. You can be as correct and Red Pill as you like, and you’d fail miserably in a big company because its toe the line for full cuckdom anti-White male if you want to even avoid being fired through your probationary period. Period. People in government are even more selected for Blue Pill idiocy. Same with think-tanks.

Being correct about how the world really works is less important in rising to power than social networks and mutual backscratching in holding to idiot beliefs. And being half-way successful in even avoiding disaster requires going along with that stuff. The CEO of Target would have been fired by the board had he disciplined the lesbian and Black female staffers who put out the Transgender Bathroom statement; so what if the stock price tanks and sales are off by 15%? HE is still CEO. And that’s how that works.

Keep Africans in the large expanse of space known as Africa. Ship 'em back too.

It seems kooky to have masses of Africans going to tiny cramped Europe – Africa has far more land and resources.

If it gets desperate the EU should offer to send a group to Africa to run the place efficiently. It would be like Colonialism but without whites settling there.

Everyone – Africans and Europeans and Asians for that matter would have to formally recognize that Africans are simply not capable of running that continent to the standard they or we want it to be run. They would effectively give up sovereignty to some sort of international body that would run the place efficiently for the benefit of Africans.

It’s not politically feasible now, but things are going to change quickly, and I believe most Africans would prefer this to being run by a strong man kleptocrat anyway.

Some would be horrified, but I think it’s far worse morally to sit back and piously wait for some pie in the sky miracle that will make all the problems go away.

Of course, this would work and, of course, it will never be done. See The Camp of the Saints for why this solution would be totally unacceptable to the Western world. Short answer: we are unwilling to defend ourselves because we've imbibed too much leftist poison.
    , @Massimo Heitor
I advocate a more reasonable and genuinely empathetic solution to the ills of Africa:

Solution: take groups of passionate nation builders, given them full governance and control of large territories of failed nations like Liberia or Guinea or Benin or Tanzania or Madagascar, and let them compete to make the most desirable, functional, and productive nations that people want to flock to.

The main objection is that violates majority rule democracy and their existing sovereign nation status. But there are two counters to this:

    1) Global leaders have already decided that these problems are so dire as to override the sovereignty of unrelated people in nations in Europe and the US. The right of migration types have also cosigned on this forced forfeiture of sovereignty and existing national culture

    2) If anyone demographic population should lose their sovereign national culture, it should be the people who are risking their lives and desperately trying to emigrate and lose their sovereign national culture. And it should be the national cultures that are so horrific to live in that our global society should decide to retire.
  33. The number one factor driving down birthrates outside Africa is urbanisation. This is a key reason why East Asia has the lowest birth rates in the world and Africa the highest. Unfortunately, most aid to Africa ends up going to highly fertile and religious rural villagers rather than urban slum dwellers.

In numerous other contexts, diverse posters hereabouts have been known to quote some variant of the dictum that trends which can't continue, don't. That line of thinking ought to be applied a fortiori to this graph. Africa's population growth is completely unsustainable, and that which has already occurred is entirely dependent on Western aid that will eventually be withdrawn. Disease, famine, and machetes will quickly accomplish what Gates' billions did not.

Well, judging by the actions and attitudes of the present generation of Economist-whipped EU politicians – and who thinks that things will change? – the most likely outcome is ‘free’ African immigration into Europe in the near future. After all, we are lectured incessantly about the dire effects of ‘Europe’s aging population’.
Of course, once a critical mass of African population is reached in Europe, a voting bloc bent on furthering African self-interest, combined with the left, will emerge to ensure the permanence of mass African immigration.

We're not lectured enough about it because people still don't realize how dire the situation is. Even if third-world immigration stopped tomorrow, Europe might not survive.

There is a strong possibility that the future belongs to Muslims and Africans. Unless having large families becomes a status symbol in the West (and east Asia), civilization is doomed.

Yeah, but accompanying the disease, famine and machetes will be massive waves of migration towards Europe, and even if just a small percentage of the population tries to make the trip, a small percentage of two or three billion Africans can still end western European civilization.

The Russians are strong and smart and realistic, and seem to have no trace of political correctness in their genes. Africans in general appear to have no ability to do anything, so if they move to Western Europe and continue as past history indicates then the place will become a shambles of Islamic and tribal warfare in short order. The Russians will see this as both a threat on their borders and an opportunity, and the Russian tanks will finally roll through the Fulda gap, sweeping aside the chaotic opposition like a broom through Autumn leaves.

If the governments of Western Europe don't soon wake up and smell the shit, then Arabic will be the main language spoken from Barcelona to Vienna by about 2050. Then, a few years later, Arabic will be replaced by Russian. And none of that will be pretty.

The spell checker converted "Factbook" to you know what.

    You can find it here:

    https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook

On the right you can select a country. Pick one, it doesn't matter which. Open "People and Society."

Scroll down to Total Fertility Rate. I picked Afghanistan. TFR = 5.22

That makes them #10 in the world. You'll notice the "10" is underlined. That means you can sort on it.

Click on "10" and you get a list of countries of the world sorted by TFR. There's a download button on the upper right of the list.

Fun for the whole family (assuming you have one!)

Their numbers do seem higher. It may be worse than I thought.

But neither set of numbers is anything but extremely disturbing.

I find the following odd: vast publicity has been to global warming. It's hard for a layman to critique because it's based on very complex computerized models of the climate.

But, for the sake of argument, let's say they're right.

With massive African population growth and population crash everywhere else, you don't need to understand complex computer programs: anyone with a grain of comnon sense can see disaster coming up.

Publicity to this problem: almost zero.

Is it any wonder so many people have lost faith in scientists and their forecasting power about anything at all?

And then there's their support of "race is a social construct" crap that only the delusional believe.

They seem to have put all their bets on a "stupid" general public finally believing them. Not going to happen.

Why should anyone believe your climate model when your fellow scientists appear to be complete idiots?

Well, judging by the actions and attitudes of the present generation of Economist-whipped EU politicians - and who thinks that things will change? - the most likely outcome is 'free' African immigration into Europe in the near future. After all, we are lectured incessantly about the dire effects of 'Europe's aging population'.
Of course, once a critical mass of African population is reached in Europe, a voting bloc bent on furthering African self-interest, combined with the left, will emerge to ensure the permanence of mass African immigration.

” After all, we are lectured incessantly about the dire effects of ‘Europe’s aging population’.”

We’re not lectured enough about it because people still don’t realize how dire the situation is. Even if third-world immigration stopped tomorrow, Europe might not survive.

Interview with Michael Anton (AKA Publius Decius Mus) at Politico – “Does Trump Still Believe in Trumpism?”: http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/04/michael-anton-donald-trump-foreign-policy-215036

It’s been a confusing few weeks. Republican neocons and Democratic human rights types disillusioned with President Barack Obama are cheering Trump’s Tomahawk missile strike on Syria in response to a murderous chemical weapons attack on civilians. Tensions are rising with Russia, building the wall with Mexico isn’t mentioned much anymore, and NATO, Trump says, is no longer “obsolete.” The pragmatic Wall Street wing is reported ascendant in the White House’s increasingly vicious internecine struggles.

So is the president still the America Firster of the campaign, determined to avoid Middle East quagmires, make nice with Russian strongman Vladimir Putin, take on Chinese currency manipulators, and blow up trade deals?

Does Donald Trump, in other words, still subscribe to the version of Trumpism that Anton and others have articulated?

Absolutely, Anton tells me in a new interview for The Global POLITICO, our weekly podcast on world affairs in the Trump era. Not only that, but Anton’s intellectual hero Machiavelli would approve of the president’s keep-them-guessing foreign policy. “The only thing maybe predictable about his foreign policy is that he says to the world, I’m going to be unpredictable,” Anton says, in a wide-ranging conversation that covers everything from Anton’s choice of pseudonym to the possibility of a military strike in North Korea. “I think he relishes that, to keep adversaries, competitors alike, sort of off balance.”

Anton, who notes that he was present for most of the president’s meetings over whether to launch the Syria airstrike and is shown seated in the Mar-a-Lago photograph of Trump and Co. when the decision was made, argues that the foreign policy commentariat—he refers dismissively to the national security “priesthood” of both parties in his writings—has overinterpreted Trump’s early international moves, mistakenly seeing them as a course correction.

Not so, he says; they are, in fact, signs of the deal-making flexibility and muscular response to challenges Trump promised on the campaign trail as an antidote to what he viewed as Obama’s “weak” leadership in the world.

Bottom line? Trump, he says, “doesn’t intend to use the U.S. military to effect regime change in Syria, which is completely consistent with everything he said during the course of his campaign, not just about Syria, but about other countries.” The president, Anton tells me, is also still eager to pursue reconciliation with Russia despite the current tough words over Russian backing of Syrian dictator Bashar Assad and thinks “that he can even build a positive relationship with Vladimir Putin.”

“A lot of this comes down to people misinterpreting the president’s campaign rhetoric. He never campaigned as someone who would not use military power in any circumstance—U.S. military power. In fact, he said quite the opposite.

“He made it plain that he was willing to use U.S. military power in instances when he thought it was in the national interest. And this is an instance in which he determined it was in the national interest,” Anton says. “So, the people who think that this was some, either a pleasant, or a disastrous, surprise—I leave pleasant or disastrous to their own interpretation, but surprise—I have to say, is maybe a matter of fact, and it didn’t surprise me. So, I don’t know why it surprised so many others.”

With that stroke, Michael Anton has proven himself to be little more than an articulate simpleton and a shill. Obviously, Trump "keeping them off balance" is just the latest iteration of the now thoroughly discredited 4D-chess meme. And the real Machiavelli never would have counseled such a clumsy course of action. In purely practical terms, there is no difference between a man who acts irrational and a man who is irrational.

Not all of that is immigration, but a large part of it is. And the age pyramid is disastrous.

One thing that Guns,Germs, & Steel got right was that the eurasian landmass is/was the major leagues of evolutionary competition because of its very long longitudinal axis.

If european societies can't adapt, are obsolescent, something better adapted will emerge in a few generations. Kind of what happened to the Romans.

If the governments of Western Europe don’t soon wake up and smell the shit, then Arabic will be the main language spoken from Barcelona to Vienna by about 2050. Then, a few years later, Arabic will be replaced by Russian. And none of that will be pretty.

Non Muslim population in Russia is in steep decline. The TFRs for the former Communist countries are even lower than the rest of Europe.

Muslim population growth in Russia is proceeding nicely (not at African levels, but still above break even).

I have a theory (I have no idea if it's right) that Communism wrecked Russia permanently.

I have read a number of accounts of the history of that era. One thing I notice everyone agrees on: the Communists promised a lot but fell very short and they could see massive resistance if they didn't figure out a solution quickly.

So they appealed to worst elements in society to take their side: the drunks, the losers etc, were stoked to blame it on the more successful.

In the villages, the Communists often couldn't get the village to hand over the "bourgeois" elements. Again they appealed to the losers. So the few better off farmers (presumably more intelligent and industrious) were sent to Siberia, pretty much a death sentence.

One might think that after a while of skimming your best people and killing them, your society overall would be dumber.

I have heard (even from people who once lived there) that alcoholism is incredibly common among Russian males. Drunks made good resentful mobs to attack the better off and blame for their problems. Just a thought.

The deeper problem is that awareness and cheaper access to birth control probably won't matter too much. It's good to be sure, but ultimately either Africa will become developed and life won't be so cheap, or it will become a Malthusian nightmare, this time live on Facebook.

“…cheeper access to birth control probably won’t matter much”

Ok – but we have to try even though.

What we see right now is as follows: Wherever family-planning (let’s put it in this friendly way) programs are offered, the women accept them – even strive for them.

The EU (and Germany especially) has quite some of such programs running in Africa. – Supported here and there by two well known Americans called Melinda & Bill Gates.

Melinda – not Bill, for whatever reason, every once in a while opposes even her Church for not taking part in these family-planning efforts. – Unfortunately, Christians in Africa are still disseminating (sigh!) the gospel of “be fruitful and multipy!”***

*** That made perfect sense by the time Christianity formed, but is clearly outdated by now – and will stay outdated, unless we, for whatever reason, come back to a hunter and gatherer and/or early peasant societies.

Wherever family-planning (let’s put it in this friendly way) programs are offered, the women accept them – even strive for them.

Even if that is true, he question ultimately is not whether women accept and strive for them but whether the contraceptives are used consistently across the board. TFRs in Africa suggest the answer is a resounding NO. There are probably many reasons why this is so, but I do get the sense that, among other things, a lot of tribal sex would not be considered "consensual" by Western standards. That's a problem, because most successful family planning regimens require a minimum of sexual planning as well, unless a woman is to be on the pill for her entire life, a regimen which can be good for some women in more ways than one, but which can pose problems for others, not to mention the obvious logistical problems of keeping women's prescriptions up to date in a place like Africa.

But underlying all this, the fact is that birth control is part of modern, Western medicine, and in the end, the real reason Africa's population is exploding is that Western medicine and at least marginal Western nutrition levels arrived in Africa before Western educational levels and living standards could (if indeed they ever can). There are sometimes limits to what can reasonably be done to help some people. For example, most Muslims are not worth helping unless they manage to leave their religion.
  74. TheJester says:

We feed them … You breed them!

The current explosion in Africa’s population and the issues associated with Western food aid is a repeat of the post-WWII explosion in the Indian subcontinent’s population.

Post-WWII, India could not feed itself. Western countries stepped in to feed India’s masses. In the Indian experience, the Western social scientists finally realized that every Indian female that Western food aid artificially kept alive resulted in six more mouths for Western countries to feed in the next generation … and so on …. and so on. In short, Western food aid did not solve the problems of food security, overpopulation, and poverty in India, it exacerbated them.

The lessons from the Indian experience was that certain regions in the world do have Malthusian limits and Western food aid allows them to systematically violate those limits with predictable outcomes. Violating those limits leads to a Malthusian Catastrophe that ensures that the burgeoning populations are reduced to and remain in subsistence-level conditions … the perfect scenario for motivating mass migrations to neighboring countries and continents offering living conditions above those levels.

As an example of the new Malthusian Catastrophe at hand in sub-Saharan Africa, in 1960 Nigeria had a population of 42 million people. In 2017, the UN estimates its population exceeded 191 million. By 2050, it is estimated that the population of Nigeria alone will exceed the population of the United States with 397 million people in a land area only 25% larger than Texas.

It looks like the West is going to have to relearn the hard experiences and consequences of Indian food aid again with respect to sub-Saharan Africa. This is especially important given that most Western countries are projected to undergo significant population reductions in the same time frame as a result of their anti-natalist lifestyles … again, the perfect scenario for massive migrations from Africa to Europe to replace the disappearing European populations.

I want to keep Africa's population down even if it costs us money, because if they grow exponentially and then get hit with another round of ebola, we won't be able to stop it from spreading over the entire continent and then heading off to other continents. Infected refugees with bring it in via boats to Southern Europe. There will be no way to quarantine all of Africa. If it leaps over to India or China, it may become unstoppable, and if it reaches South America, it'll be brought into the US by illegals from there.

Ebola isn’t actually all that scary–it kills people too quickly to spread very easily, and it can be blocked by standard precautions already in use among first-world medical personnel (masks, gloves, goggles). Something like HIV is a lot worse–you can be spreading it around for several years without showing any symptoms.

It would be one thing if Europe's political, media, academic and business elites viewed the world the way Viktor Orban does, but they don't.

Although this would be a monumental news item for the media--birth rates can change.

Further, a skyrocketing birth rate does not indicate strength and vitality (usually just the opposite, and an economy headed for oblivion), just as a lowering birth rate does not mean certain death. Lower birth rates can increase, and affordable family formulation drives them up. More open space, lower real estate prices--and if immigration is stopped, increasing value of labor and higher paychecks--all will contribute to higher birth rates. Moreover, if the US had, say, 220 million and not 310 million people, this would mean an improved quality of life for most everyone. Less pollution. Less traffic. Lower real estate prices. A smaller labor pool and higher wages.

It would, however, lead to reduced toilet paper and diaper sales--and we know what is really important.

Last add -- Trump's move to full cuckdom was inevitable.

Steve is a great columnist -- but has he run the closest thing to the Treasury Dept. -- which is Goldman Sachs Investment Banking? Ann Coulter is a great writer and speaker, but has she run the closest thing to the State Dept -- a big international oil company?

And that's how that works.

Comparison: In the same period, Jan. 20 to March 13, that Trump arrested 21,000 illegals, around 100,000 new citizens have been naturalized. (700,000/year / 8.5 weeks).

On foreign policy: Voted Trump, got Hillary.
On immigration: Voted Trump, Got Obama (similar overall numbers; no mass deportation on horizon; amnesty a possibility after Kushner shows Donald a few pictures).

He lives in South Africa, he celebrates Nelson Mandela and the original ANC, but not the current ANC party.

York seems genuinely passionately empathetic with black African people, but obviously wants birth rates to drop to a more sustainable level for health, prosperity, and environmental reasons. Those reasons aren’t new. Demographics are becoming a larger issue and the plight of Africa and recent population explosion are becoming larger stories. Africans are having far more children than they can reasonably care for, there is overcrowding in cities, and new undesirable, unsanitary shanty town cities are sprouting up.

    Here (http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/africa-an-economic-giant-thats-ready-to-wake-up/article4319321/?page=all) he says,

“Africa’s population has recently surpassed one billion. By 2050, it could reach two billion people, a fifth of humanity, thanks to a rapid decline in mortality rates. But its birth rates are also dropping fast, so its working-age population over the next two decades will have fewer dependants for which to care. This is the kind of “demographic dividend” that helped fuel the economic miracle in the Asian Tigers of the past 20 years.”

In the grand statistical scheme, is there a difference?

A lot of the smugglers get the boats to just outside of Libyan waters then send out a distress call. The boats get barely a dozen miles from Africa, then European governments end up towing them hundreds of miles to European shores instead of just returning them to Libya. So not only are European governments not stopping the invasion - they're actively assisting it.

If the EU wanted to tow the boats back to Libya there is nothing the Libyans could do to stop them. It is only EU stupidity/treason which keeps them from doing so.

Well now, that depends greatly on what generation "we" belong to and whether we are from fast breeding or slow breeding families. In my case, great-grandfather was post Civil War Yankee from Quaker stock. To the extent he scorned and condemned older relatives who had gone South at Lincoln's command to crush Dixie's rightful secession, I'd say "Yes, a much better man." But if great-grandpa was part of the oppositely named "greatest generation," I'd say "pretty much the same as we have now."

America has had some catastrophically stupid men running the show at times. The Civil War, the two World Wars, and the 1960's Immigration Act and Civil Rights/Great Society flapdoodle were all more sabotage/Treason than anything else. And the populace that voted for these policies were every bit as bad as today's SJW snowflakes if not far worse. It's hard to argue that letting trannies use bathrooms of their choosing is a worse policy decision than sending millions of our young men across the ocean to die for European politics that had nothing to do with America.

  95. ISOLATIONISM didn’t do anything wrong. Isolationism has unjustly got a bad rap. Isolationism is a two-way street. A nation, empire or group of nations can demographically isolate a region, continent, nation or group of nations if it chooses to do so.

China, Russia, the American Empire, Japan and other regions and nations must begin the project of expressly isolating the entirety of the African continent. Both sub-Saharan Africa and every other damn part of that wretched continent must be kept from demographically overflowing into other areas. As the global financial system implodes, the will to do this will be found. It will be done.

The Chinese and others do not want any more Africans then they already have. The United States is blessed with the perfect amount of Africans as it is. It would be too much good fortune and joy to continue to allow mass immigration from Africa into the United States. NO MORE AFRICANS DAMMIT!

President Trump should call for an immediate moratorium on all immigration into the United States. President Trump should deport all illegal alien invaders. I don’t care if they’re pasty-faced Irish illegal aliens or illegal aliens from Africa; deport every damn one of them.

In New Hampshire, the federal government is pouring REFUGEE OVERLOAD into Laconia, Concord, Manchester and Nashua. A large component of this REFUGEE OVERLOAD is sub-Saharan Africans from the Congo and other areas. This is deliberate demographic transformation as touted by that lout Obama. REFUGEE OVERLOAD increases housing costs, swamps schools, overwhelms hospitals, increases income inequality, lowers wages, destroys cultural cohesion and allows the infiltration of criminal and terrorist elements.

Excellent points, but there is one thing that has been almost completely edited out of the public debate.

In general, population control is NOT about providing access to health benefits for women etc (not that those are bad things).

Population control is about stopping governments from actively pushing to maximize population growth! It is, too a surprising degree, government policies aimed at increasing the size of the herd (cheap labor, you know) that is the real problem.

Consider Syria. The government banned birth control, propagandized that it was a woman’s patriotic duty to have six kids each, they got the population to double every 18 years, it doubled and quadrupled and then – oopsie, hit a wall and things fell apart. Similar government programs have been responsible for quite a lot of misery in places as diverse as Mexico, early communist China, Iran, Iraq, pre-WWII Japan… But there is a virtual blackout on any public discussion of both the effects and even the existence of government pro-natalist policies.

Consider the United States. All population growth past about 240 million is due to post-1970 government cheap labor immigration policies. No, immigration does not just move people around, it maximized global population. When a nation like Syria or Haiti etc. dumps its surplus population into another country, it makes more room for people to continue breeding back home. A world with no borders is a world whose population will soon be set by places like Bangladesh.

And propaganda. ‘Liberals’ will intone about the evils of overpopulation, but only in the abstract. Faced with specific government policies aimed at maximizing population growth ‘liberals’ are either silent or actively supportive. And then there are all those Nobel prizewinners intoning that more people are always better and that the hope of the world is people having six kids each in order to rescue social security (how good is the social security system in Yemen anyhow, huh?). So while I am not a fan of a poor person in Outer Elbonia having six kids when they could maybe support two, the real blame is all those economic whores who keep telling them that they are great and wonderful and so much better than those selfish Swiss and Japanese who refuse to breed ‘enough’ workers to keep wages down….

So yes to support for women’s health etc. But first let’s break this wall of silence on the real issue.

Population should be set by the people themselves deciding how many children they can afford to support. Population should not be set by ‘experts,’ regardless of whether they use direct measures or massive immigration.

Last add -- Trump's move to full cuckdom was inevitable.

Steve is a great columnist -- but has he run the closest thing to the Treasury Dept. -- which is Goldman Sachs Investment Banking? Ann Coulter is a great writer and speaker, but has she run the closest thing to the State Dept -- a big international oil company?

Personnel is policy, and there is a reason why the same people keep popping up, like Jaime Gorelick of the Clinton 9/11 coverup and such. [Sandy Berger's pants stuffed full of secret documents he took out of archives and destroyed without any comeback because Gorelick made it go away.] People in the private sector are all hard-core globalists aka cucks because thats what gets promoted in places like Exxon-Mobil or Goldman-Sachs. You can be as correct and Red Pill as you like, and you'd fail miserably in a big company because its toe the line for full cuckdom anti-White male if you want to even avoid being fired through your probationary period.

And that's how that works.

Elian Gonzalez's mother died en route to America and his Cuban-side father wanted him back. I am definitely in disagreement with most so-called conservatives on this issue. I certainly dislike that Elian was brainwashed into becoming a piece of anti-American propaganda for one of the nastiest governments in the New World, but that is not our concern. Interview with Michael Anton (AKA Publius Decius Mus) at Politico - "Does Trump Still Believe in Trumpism?": http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2017/04/michael-anton-donald-trump-foreign-policy-215036

"He made it plain that he was willing to use U.S. military power in instances when he thought it was in the national interest.

Obviously, Trump “keeping them off balance” is just the latest iteration of the now thoroughly discredited 4D-chess meme. And the real Machiavelli never would have counseled such a clumsy course of action. In purely practical terms, there is no difference between a man who acts irrational and a man who is irrational.

I myself am strongly leaning towards the possibility that Trump is senile.

Even this is too much to ask and will never be done. We in the relatively prosperous West are morally bound to provide a home for the rest of the world. To make up for past sins I suppose. At least that’s what has been hammered into us for a while. It’s more just.

The cultural norms of our society should be that vast majority of the world’s population should aim for “one and done”; one healthy and fertile grandchild to continue their line.

Only the very motivated/endangered/talented/stable should be encouraged to have more. Having children is a privilege.. I’m not a eugenicist but a humanist!

I agree with the eugenics aspect, but one and done does not make mathematical sense for the population as such. It either condemns you to eventual destruction or a backlash that sees rapid population growth (whether yours' or your conquerors', I cannot say - maybe your dark age descendants after the fall of civilization?). Even that is not healthy. We do not call a person who seesaws from 200 to 100 pounds and back again healthy. Production, investment in public services, they work best with stability or a stable trend, at least. I figure that the best thing is for each nation to see what its territory will support in population, while still allowing for environmental protection and human welfare (not feeling like rats in a behavioral sink) and then stick to that population by balancing fertility with death rates, in a manner that also preserves the quality of the population (so no having hyper fecund lower classes take up the slack for childless careerists). That is fair for all. Maybe a little eugenic increase would do well to the country, by slowly improving the entire population and establishing a nice cushion for wars, natural disasters etc. I think everybody wants to marry the best person they can, or for their children to do so. A eugenic policy allows the lower classes to move up in the world genetically, not just socially, cementing their upward mobility.

Why does everyone keep asking that as if it presents an insurmountable obstacle? The answer to that is supremely simple. Sink the immigrant rafts in the Med and they'll stop coming right quick.

The government banned birth control, propagandized that it was a woman's patriotic duty to have six kids each, they got the population to double every 18 years, it doubled and quadrupled and then - oopsie, hit a wall and things fell apart. Similar government programs have been responsible for quite a lot of misery in places as diverse as Mexico, early communist China, Iran, Iraq, pre-WWII Japan... But there is a virtual blackout on any public discussion of both the effects and even the existence of government pro-natalist policies.

'Liberals' will intone about the evils of overpopulation, but only in the abstract. Faced with specific government policies aimed at maximizing population growth 'liberals' are either silent or actively supportive. And then there are all those Nobel prizewinners intoning that more people are always better and that the hope of the world is people having six kids each in order to rescue social security (how good is the social security system in Yemen anyhow, huh?). So while I am not a fan of a poor person in Outer Elbonia having six kids when they could maybe support two, the real blame is all those economic whores who keep telling them that they are great and wonderful and so much better than those selfish Swiss and Japanese who refuse to breed 'enough' workers to keep wages down....

So yes to support for women's health etc. But first let's break this wall of silence on the real issue.

Population should be set by the people themselves deciding how many children they can afford to support. Population should not be set by 'experts,' regardless of whether they use direct measures or massive immigration.

Population should be set by the people themselves deciding how many children they can afford to support. Population should not be set by ‘experts,’ regardless of whether they use direct measures or massive immigration.

One can be pronatalist while also agreeing with that. Indeed, it’s the only way to be responsibly pronatalist.

Immigration arrests are way down this year compared to 2014 under Obama

    WashPost graphic:

    https://twitter.com/Hail__To_You/status/854183104470294532

i.e., If there are 11,000,000 illegals in the USA, Trump has arrested, since taking office, <0.2% of them, a number roughly comparable to the Obama running average.

Comparison: In the same period, Jan. 20 to March 13, that Trump arrested 21,000 illegals, around 100,000 new citizens have been naturalized. (700,000/year / 8.5 weeks).

On foreign policy: Voted Trump, got Hillary.
On immigration: Voted Trump, Got Obama (similar overall numbers; no mass deportation on horizon; amnesty a possibility after Kushner shows Donald a few pictures).

Let’s put this into perspective over a longer time frame.
https://www.bjs.gov/content/pub/pdf/fjs1112.pdf has immigration offense arrests from 1994-2012 in Figure 2 on page 4. Starting at ~10k/year, rising fairly rapidly until 2008 when it was ~80k and rising slowly 2008-2012. From the text: “Immigration arrests doubled from 1994
to 1998, doubled from 1998 to 2004, and doubled again from 2004 to 2008″ Map 2 has a breakdown by state of the 414k arrests from 2008-2012.

Well, French politicians of the establishment non-FN variety have a very long track record of 'talking tough' about massive third world immigration but not actually doing anything about it.

Believe it or not, the Pompidou government of 1974 formally declared the era 'primary' immigration into France to be 'over'.

Numbers for 2016 are as follows:

    Migrants into Germany: 300 000
    Migrants into France: . . . 25 000

Let Italy decide its own demographic fate. If it falls down to say 40 million, so what? There was a time in the past when it was 45 million, and it was still Italy. Maybe it will rebound in a century to 50 million. Who cares? Once family formation is more affordable and Feminist Cultmarx has been beaten back aways, demography will likely self-correct.

We don't need Barbara Lerner Spectres dictating that European nations "must become multicultural" to give themselves psycho-therapy.

Nor do we need Ben Wattenbergs or Julian Simons lecturing us about the need for endless growth, and why diversity is great. Those are just ulterior motives for their own resentment of European culture, and their desire to attack it.

mass immigration is suppressing the native birth rate

any other reasons can be fixed after mass immigration is halted

one of those reasons is the poisoning of the culture in an anti-natal direction by mass media / academia since the 1960s (which would probably be automatically fixed as part of winning the battle over mass immigration)

the other big reason imo - the desire of young people for bright lights / big city combined with the resulting high housing costs suppressing affordable family formation needs a civil engineering solution

The situation is only dire for those countries without effective border controls. It's not the end of the world for Japan or Israel if the population drops 30% or even 50%. Burkina Faso won't become the world chip fabrication centre cos its got a few more people.

Although this would be a monumental news item for the media–birth rates can change.

Further, a skyrocketing birth rate does not indicate strength and vitality (usually just the opposite, and an economy headed for oblivion), just as a lowering birth rate does not mean certain death. Lower birth rates can increase, and affordable family formulation drives them up. More open space, lower real estate prices–and if immigration is stopped, increasing value of labor and higher paychecks–all will contribute to higher birth rates. Moreover, if the US had, say, 220 million and not 310 million people, this would mean an improved quality of life for most everyone. Less pollution. Less traffic. Lower real estate prices. A smaller labor pool and higher wages.

It would, however, lead to reduced toilet paper and diaper sales–and we know what is really important.

There's another set I recall reading about when was I actually looking into it. UN, I think.

No one disagreed with the bottom line: African – explosion, rest of the world – bust.

For a long time forecasters had been saying rates would drop in Africa (as they had everywhere else).

Then 2 or 3 years ago the UN issued an update: the rates in Africa would not drop. Population in Africa was forecast to grow steadily.

This was a big deal, a major change, but there was little publicity as the MSM (of course) largely ignored it.

Oh but Africa's population can and will grow even faster and further. There is no will or desire among the most important people in the West, the aristocracy, to limit African birth rates and mass immigration into the US, Canada, Australia, and Europe. None whatsoever, in fact the Aristocracy WANTS a majority Black planet and a Black Majority in all Western nations.

They want it for: Meaningless social posturing that forms the basis for the "New Aristocracy" which is managerial positions that are status-dependent (unlike old-line Aristos with landed estates who had land to defend from invaders). They are also deeply feminized and the White female preference for Black women (who make even Lena Dunham look attractive) around them and also Black men (who have the advantage of high levels of aggression and relatively low IQs aka Chick Crack) thus "more Blacks" is the answer ever Aristo gives to any question.

Its a perfect storm, take away any one leg and you don't get "More Africans" as the answer to every question. Make Aristos non-feminized and Black males are seen as threats and Black women as attractive as a sofa. [Sadly]. Take away status-dependent aristos and replace them with landed estates and they view Africans as people taking away their only source of wealth -- LAND. Take away the Idiot Gnostic Utopianism and the desire to raze society to create a perfect order and you get people invested in their heritage and history.

Oh absolutely this can continue until Africans make up the vast majority of inhabitants of the planet and Whites are little better than smart slaves -- it is White HBD flaws the make this the most likely bet.

We feed them ... You breed them!

The current explosion in Africa's population and the issues associated with Western food aid is a repeat of the post-WWII explosion in the Indian subcontinent's population.

Post-WWII, India could not feed itself. Western countries stepped in to feed India's masses. In the Indian experience, the Western social scientists finally realized that every Indian female that Western food aid artificially kept alive resulted in six more mouths for Western countries to feed in the next generation ... and so on .... and so on. In short, Western food aid did not solve the problems of food security, overpopulation, and poverty in India, it exacerbated them.

The lessons from the Indian experience was that certain regions in the world do have Malthusian limits and Western food aid allows them to systematically violate those limits with predictable outcomes. Violating those limits leads to a Malthusian Catastrophe that ensures that the burgeoning populations are reduced to and remain in subsistence-level conditions ... the perfect scenario for motivating mass migrations to neighboring countries and continents offering living conditions above those levels.

This is especially important given that most Western countries are projected to undergo significant population reductions in the same time frame as a result of their anti-natalist lifestyles ... again, the perfect scenario for massive migrations from Africa to Europe to replace the disappearing European populations.

We don’t need Barbara Lerner Spectres dictating that European nations “must become multicultural” to give themselves psycho-therapy.

Nor do we need Ben Wattenbergs or Julian Simons lecturing us about the need for endless growth, and why diversity is great. Those are just ulterior motives for their own resentment of European culture, and their desire to attack it.

Ossoff was raised by his parents in the 6th District.[11] He currently lives with his girlfriend ten minutes south of the 6th District.[11]

Ossoff attended the Paideia School, a small private school in Atlanta.[1] While in high school, he interned for Georgia congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis.[1]

Ossoff attended Georgetown University from 2005 to 2009, earning a bachelor's degree in the School of Foreign Service.

He attended classes taught by former secretary of state Madeleine Albright and former Israeli ambassador to the United States Michael Oren.[12][11]

Ossoff went on to earn his Master of Science degree from London School of Economics in 2013,[12][11] where he wrote his thesis on trade relations between the United States and China.[13]

Since 2013, he has been managing partner and CEO of Insight TWI, a small business which produces investigations targeting corrupt officials and organized crime for international news organizations.[16]

In 2016, Ossoff was an executive producer for a documentary film by Insight TWI for BBC Three; the film exposed atrocities committed by ISIL in Iraq.[17]

Short answer: we are unwilling to defend ourselves because we’ve imbibed too much leftist poison.

    obviously not true

    1) if it was true the media wouldn't have to lie e.g. they wouldn't show pictures of refugee women and kids while the truth is millions of young men from all over MENA and Africa

    2) the mainstream right supports mass immigration for cheap labor

The problem is that the 20 percent of white males who support third world immigration have a disproportionate influence over government, media and economic policy making.

Their numbers do seem higher. It may be worse than I thought.

That raises an important question. How does anybody know what the hell the numbers really are? Who takes a census in Africa? How reliable is it? There are places on that continent where eating the census taker with fava beans would not be far outside established cultural norms, and am I supposed to trust their data?

I don’t know how they get the data in Africa. But there is more than one set of estimates. CIA Factbook is one, then there’s the World Bank.

There’s another set I recall reading about when was I actually looking into it.

Right, the UN's 2005 population projections assumed that Africa was well into its expected demographic transition. But that was partly because the quality of the data out of Africa wasn't very good. As the quality improved over the last decade, the UN demographers realized that African countries had been undercounted.

Non Muslim population in Russia is in steep decline. The TFRs for the former Communist countries are even lower than the rest of Europe.

Muslim population growth in Russia is proceeding nicely (not at African levels, but still above break even).

I have a theory (I have no idea if it’s right) that Communism wrecked Russia permanently.

I have read a number of accounts of the history of that era. One thing I notice everyone agrees on: the Communists promised a lot but fell very short and they could see massive resistance if they didn’t figure out a solution quickly.

So they appealed to worst elements in society to take their side: the drunks, the losers etc, were stoked to blame it on the more successful.

In the villages, the Communists often couldn’t get the village to hand over the “bourgeois” elements.

The Commies also heavily recruited from the feebleminded. Naturally, they also coddled the IQ 70 hordes and encouraged them to breed. Stalin, during his pre-emptive invasion of eastern Europe in 1939, massacred thousands of smarties, partly to buy the loyalty of the dummies. Katyn Forest was one of hundreds of such events. Ironically, Hitler killed off many of these dummies not because the might be pro-communist, but simply because they were dummies.

Let's see if I understand you. Mutti Merkel wanted to avoid a "war of attrition" in front of the media with their cameras as the outcome of opposing Muslim immigration with closed borders. To avoid this, she opened the borders in violation of EU regulations and invited the Muslim immigrants to "flash mob" Germany in successive waves of immigration.

This would be like inviting Russian and French troops to occupy Germany in WWI to avoid a war of attrition on the eastern and western fronts. Neither Frederick the Great nor Chancellor Bismark would have been proud of Mutti.

A better tactic would have been quick strikes at the immigrants Machiavelli-style involving internment camps and deportations. The immigrants would quickly get the message -- Border Closed -- just like the immigrant waves have done on the southern US border.

Paul Collier seems a decent sort of bloke but my worry is that even this sensible sort of man buckles somewhat under pressure so that the practical effect of his insights gets mightily diluted in practice. Ditto David Goodhart (although I haven't read his latest book yet).

The great joy of Trump has been that his 'reckless' rhetoric smashed through the hand-wringing about hurt feelings, human rights and the requirement to repeatedly assert one's xenophilia that paralyzes most western leaders, even when their instincts might be good. (Even Merkel of course in early years made encouraging noises about the failure of multiculturalism etc..)

Brexit was big but its effect will unwind too slowly for a situation at crisis levels. The French election though could be the real game changer.

I think the men of Europe, even now, would relish the chance to sort this out. Look at the way the Dutch police handily dispersed Turkish protestors recently.

I realize that is the alt.right perspective, but anyone who is rational can see the fertility rate is just as low in advanced countries with virtually no immigration. I would look elsewhere for the primary explanation.

mass immigration is suppressing the native birth rate

any other reasons can be fixed after mass immigration is halted

one of those reasons is the poisoning of the culture in an anti-natal direction by mass media / academia since the 1960s (which would probably be automatically fixed as part of winning the battle over mass immigration)

the other big reason imo – the desire of young people for bright lights / big city combined with the resulting high housing costs suppressing affordable family formation needs a civil engineering solution

In fairness to the Globe and Mail, I was actually really impressed by York's honesty(nearer to the the end of the article of course) about what really drives African population growth, namely cultural norms that any sane person can see have absolutely nothing to do with Trump or colonialism and can't easily be changed.

And yet, those cultural norms have….changed all over the rest of the world. Quebec used to have fertility rates higher than any African country in the 1950s. Mexico and Central America had fertility rates tied with the highest African countries today, as late as 1970. Latin American and Quebecois fertility was *proverbial*. Even as um, “traditionalist” a country as Iran has below-replacement fertility today. There’s nothing about a culture that prizes high fertility that means that culture needs to persist indefinitely.

As far as Africans, specifically, go, it’s an intractable problem to solve but I don’t think an impossible one.

Right. The African population explosion doesn't seem an impossible problem, just one that the whole world needs to get to work on right away.
    , @Diversity Heretic
There are a couple of problems with your hypothesis. The first is population momentum--even if African fertility rates dropped to replacement levels tomorrow afternoon, the past high fertility would result in an expanding population well beyond African capabilities to handle, probably into mid-century. The second is that Africans are just different. As some commentators have put it, to a first order of approximation, there are sub-Saharan Africans and everyone else. Trends in other populations are not reliable indicators of African behavior.

From my perspective, the issue is whether, when the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse finally saddle up and ride, whether their ravages can be confined to Africa, or whether they will afflict Europe and North America as well.

OK. Maybe the analogy doesn't work. It just struck me that Merkel launched a blitzkrieg - or rather a reverse blitzkrieg - of 'refugees' as a way to deal with a problem that, in her mind at the time, was otherwise insoluble in any way acceptable to her. Of course it was utterly bananas.

I instinctively lean towards the 'cock-up' theory of history but I am becoming increasingly cynical in the face of such stonking absurdities as the stream of rescue ferries syphoning Africa into Europe.
  184. Some people just don’t get it. Everything in the economic world depends on population growth. The more population the more products, the more food, the more toilet paper, the more of everything. Itz constant growth and the rulers/elites don’t care where that population growth comes from, only that it continues because as you you know “we are all created equal”. The worst thing that the elites/rulers fear is stagnation because that would bring the ponzi scheme crashing down.
We could have had a stable population but that was voted down and so we must import other people from Africa, South America because the current population in America chooses not to grow/expand.

There are probably many reasons why this is so, but I do get the sense that, among other things, a lot of tribal sex would not be considered “consensual” by Western standards. That’s a problem, because most successful family planning regimens require a minimum of sexual planning as well, unless a woman is to be on the pill for her entire life, a regimen which can be good for some women in more ways than one, but which can pose problems for others, not to mention the obvious logistical problems of keeping women’s prescriptions up to date in a place like Africa.

But underlying all this, the fact is that birth control is part of modern, Western medicine, and in the end, the real reason Africa’s population is exploding is that Western medicine and at least marginal Western nutrition levels arrived in Africa before Western educational levels and living standards could (if indeed they ever can).

Right. The African population explosion doesn’t seem an impossible problem, just one that the whole world needs to get to work on right away.

Prior to 1995, the US government allowed all Cubans who reached US territorial waters to remain in the US. The Clinton administration stopped admitting people intercepted in U.S. waters. For several decades thereafter, in what became known as the "Wet foot, Dry foot" policy, a Cuban caught on the waters between the two nations (with "wet feet") would summarily be sent home.
Europe should copy the policy of Clinton and start returning all Africans, even if they are in European territorial waters. Interesting that the Clinton administration even deported children who made it to Florida, like poor Elian Gonzalez..

Elian Gonzalez’s mother died en route to America and his Cuban-side father wanted him back. I am definitely in disagreement with most so-called conservatives on this issue. I certainly dislike that Elian was brainwashed into becoming a piece of anti-American propaganda for one of the nastiest governments in the New World, but that is not our concern. Children belong to their parents, for better or for worse, and the U.S. has no jurisdiction over the parental rights of foreign citizens to their foreign children. That is a conservative value.

The Elian Gonzalez case is interesting , because the Federal Courts rules he was too young to apply for asylum...the Supreme Court declines to hear an appeal and thus the home of Elian was raided and he was deported....no custody case was ever allowed to be made in the courts.

over the last 5 years the US has accepted thousands of Unaccompanied children crossing our southern border ...none have been deported back to fathers to mothers.

US law allows minors to obtain asylum even when their parents live in other nations...with one exception,- the case of Elian, who was forced to live with a "father" who never was married to the mother and had never lived with his son Elian.

In some ways it would have been a good precedent if the Supreme Court had validated the lower court ruling, that minor children cannot apply for asylum...

There are a couple of problems with your hypothesis. The first is population momentum–even if African fertility rates dropped to replacement levels tomorrow afternoon, the past high fertility would result in an expanding population well beyond African capabilities to handle, probably into mid-century.

The problem with the coming fitter population is not my personal distaste for it, but that it is only fitter in the context of an artificial environment of abundance and comfort maintained by the populations they are displacing. Maybe they will be able to maintain them, though South Africa shows us how difficult it is in the medium term, let alone the long term. If not, then they will become unfit for the environment as well and we'll have population crashes from hunger, war, disease etc. Nature will do with cruelty what we could not do gently, which is regulate our populations and especially the heterogeneous mix within the human race.

Our great grandfathers were better men than we currently have.

Well now, that depends greatly on what generation “we” belong to and whether we are from fast breeding or slow breeding families. In my case, great-grandfather was post Civil War Yankee from Quaker stock. To the extent he scorned and condemned older relatives who had gone South at Lincoln’s command to crush Dixie’s rightful secession, I’d say “Yes, a much better man.” But if great-grandpa was part of the oppositely named “greatest generation,” I’d say “pretty much the same as we have now.”

America has had some catastrophically stupid men running the show at times. The Civil War, the two World Wars, and the 1960′s Immigration Act and Civil Rights/Great Society flapdoodle were all more sabotage/Treason than anything else. And the populace that voted for these policies were every bit as bad as today’s SJW snowflakes if not far worse. It’s hard to argue that letting trannies use bathrooms of their choosing is a worse policy decision than sending millions of our young men across the ocean to die for European politics that had nothing to do with America.

Do you really, seriously think the boat-borne invaders will remain in Italy with the rudimentary Italian welfare state?
  197. @TheJester

This is especially important given that most Western countries are projected to undergo significant population reductions in the same time frame as a result of their anti-natalist lifestyles ... again, the perfect scenario for massive migrations from Africa to Europe to replace the disappearing European populations.

How did the West shut off food aid to starving India?

    • Replies: @TheJester
The West reduced food aid and diverted resources to the "green (genetic) revolution" in agriculture that increased yields by orders of magnitude. India also started sending young men to American land-grant universities that focused on agriculture to improve their agrarian technology. Eventually, India could feed itself.

The accidental arrival of genetic engineered crops did not change the realization that continued Western food aid to India without other structural changes was only digging the demographic hole deeper every generation. By analogy, with food aid, the West had been taking the Indian population out on the edge of a plank ... a few more steps and they would fall into the ocean and drown. What if there was a radical reduction in or a logistical disruption of Western food supplies? The answer: Mass starvation involving hundreds of millions of people.

We're reliving the latter scenario in sub-Saharan Africa today. Stop the food trucks and there is massive starvation. Keep the food trucks coming and there are orders-of-magnitude increases in population that require ever more food trucks ... and so ad nauseam into a distant future.

I leave it an open question regarding why the agricultural revolution that saved India is not being repeated in Africa. Political instability? Culture? Global warming? Short-sighted aid programs?

As a principal, Western food aid as a permanent solution to food insecurity in the Third and Fourth Worlds does not solve the problem of local populations living on the edge of their Malthusian limits. It simply delays the inevitable by allowing them to temporarily exceed those limits via population explosions, which exacerbates the problem of food insecurity in ever larger populations. It permanently condemns the local populations to lives of abject poverty without relieving the threat of imminent starvation.

How does that saying go? Continuing doing what you are doing while expecting different outcomes is a form of insanity.

Under Obama Mexicans nabbed at the border and immediately sent back began to be included under deportations. I believe it was mid way through his eight years.

Real deportations and what deportation meant for years was being arrested and deported from places far away from the Mexican border, such as Chicago, Alabama, Los Angeles, Virginia.

    See post number 97

Unlike say, inflation, climate change, crime, etc., deportations take place entirely inside of government bureaucracy, making it very hard for anyone outside of government to fact-check. If the government decides to fake the statistics, how would anyone know?

Was Merkel simply acting out the impulses of the German DNA by being ‘decisive’ and ‘bold’ and not bothering to think things through?

The media and almost all pro-EU politicians supported Merkel so the idea it was just her is nonsense on its face. It was a concerted plan.

EU politicians all support destroying the constituent nations of Europe for one or more of
    - divide and rule
    - bribed by cheap labor lobbyists
    - blind SJW ideology
    etc

OK. Maybe the analogy doesn’t work. It just struck me that Merkel launched a blitzkrieg – or rather a reverse blitzkrieg – of ‘refugees’ as a way to deal with a problem that, in her mind at the time, was otherwise insoluble in any way acceptable to her. Of course it was utterly bananas.

I instinctively lean towards the ‘cock-up’ theory of history but I am becoming increasingly cynical in the face of such stonking absurdities as the stream of rescue ferries syphoning Africa into Europe.

    Somewhat, of course.

Now she has hired Paul Collier as an expert on the migration crisis, who is - since quite a long time, really, against the "invite the world"-idea.

She knows, she can't go on with open borders. She might (sigh!) have understood by now, that the European solution she and Schäuble had been speaking of, has by and large - completely diappeared: Even Sweden declared, that they could - and will! - not go on with open borders. Now look at - - - Norway, Hungary, Great Britain, Austria (Switzerland, too), Slowenia, Poland, France, Spain etc.

France took in 25 000 last year, Germany more than 300 000. And Merkel and Juncker were still speaking of a European solution, last year.

Simply looking at their neighbors is enough to make them understand: This open borders idea will not work. Not at all.

Paul Collier seems a decent sort of bloke but my worry is that even this sensible sort of man buckles somewhat under pressure so that the practical effect of his insights gets mightily diluted in practice. Ditto David Goodhart (although I haven’t read his latest book yet).

The great joy of Trump has been that his ‘reckless’ rhetoric smashed through the hand-wringing about hurt feelings, human rights and the requirement to repeatedly assert one’s xenophilia that paralyzes most western leaders, even when their instincts might be good. (Even Merkel of course in early years made encouraging noises about the failure of multiculturalism etc..)

Brexit was big but its effect will unwind too slowly for a situation at crisis levels. The French election though could be the real game changer.

On the need for decisive action I would agree: migrant violence and arrogance is the flip-side of Western weakness.

I think the men of Europe, even now, would relish the chance to sort this out. Look at the way the Dutch police handily dispersed Turkish protestors recently.

For me one hopeful factor is the sheer grotesqueness of some many of the migrant actors and their progressive enablers.

Another one of these greek geniusses sat in just another show - and remember: Primetime-TV, with millions of patient Germans, watching it, and declared: The money Greece receives is a laugh - it's still not the case, that Greek retirement-standards are even near those in Germany - so: Given the fact, that Greece relies on nobody more than on Germany, as far as the Greek retirement payments are concerned: Who'd be there to blame - - if not the Germans, in all honesty!

Now, in one of them, there was this Greek expert, who claimed, that he’s heard (!) of a scientific paper, which shows, that the overall tax-fraud in Germany over the last ten years equals exactly the sum of money, Greece owes to Germany (roughly 250 billions): And therefor, he concluded, dear Germans: Case solved – would you by any means bow your heads in shame and no longer bother us GReeks, who really try hard to survive, with you complaints about the inefficancy of the Greek economy anymore. – Thank you!!

Another one of these greek geniusses sat in just another show – and remember: Primetime-TV, with millions of patient Germans, watching it, and declared: The money Greece receives is a laugh – it’s still not the case, that Greek retirement-standards are even near those in Germany – so: Given the fact, that Greece relies on nobody more than on Germany, as far as the Greek retirement payments are concerned: Who’d be there to blame – – if not the Germans, in all honesty!

And now think of the fact, that the discussion just goes on very friendly: Ok, there is this foreigner, and he brings up this point of overall unbalanced retirement-payments, especially compared to those in Germany, what could we make of this argument…

You look at such stuff and unwillingly doubt your senses after a very short time. But, it turns out: There’s absolutely nothing wrong with them – you’ve seen, what really was to be seen – – – it must be something else, that’s frakingly wrong here.

It’s either the invasion of the body snatchers – or the attack of the Brainkiller-Tomatoes via secret waves, hurting your nervous system driven by energies from dark holes (negative quantums of some kind) in outer space – or else – – you just don’t know.

Imagine these facts: Germany produces not one drop of olive oil (lack of olives), whereas Greece produces quite a lot – or else could produce quite some olive oil – but they don’t. Their youth prefer to stay unemployed over working those steep and hot and dusty olive hills.

All in all, this gets summed up as follows – and again, the explanation is n o t intended as a joke:
They can’t produce enough olive oil, because of the repressive conditions of the European (=EU-subsidized!) market (that’s what Varoufakis and the German Left Party throw in as an explanation.

But we’re still not through with the hole story. The really furious, ferocious, obnoxious, laughably dumb and hilariously true last info is this: The greeks (and this is a well documented fact – this is NO JOKE!!) – help them out by importing – – – German olive oil. Now – -that’s the state of european rationality in the spring of 2017, post Christ.

Bring on the African migration to Europe. Plenty of work to be done. Those Eiffel Tower trinkets are not going to sell themselves.

Lol I was just there for work and the African souvenir hawkers stuck out for me as well. And the Gypsy rickshaw drivers with the horrible music.

Edit – the site is really fiddly. I had a number of errors while trying to post this and other comments.

Most of the establishment still seems to think the world's population is at early 1900 proportions. Asia's population is huge. Africa's will be huge. Europe's and North America's is relatively small and stable.

No, the White populations are small and stable. The regions themselves have been growing, just not at the alarming rate of the third world and not from the local seed. The UK has grown by 25% in the last 50 years, Australia has doubled, France added 20 million, like 40% of what it had in the 1960s. America grew from 180 to 320 million in that time. Not all of that is immigration, but a large part of it is. And the age pyramid is disastrous.

“Better adapted” does not necessarily mean “better”.

Actually, assuming Darwin was basically correct, it does.

It means of higher fitness for the environment at hand. It says nothing about the capacity to create technology, to explore the Universe etc. Those are side-effects of the “ice people” fitness strategy.

If not, then they will become unfit for the environment as well and we’ll have population crashes from hunger, war, disease etc. Nature will do with cruelty what we could not do gently, which is regulate our populations and especially the heterogeneous mix within the human race.

The cultural norms of our society should be that vast majority of the world's population should aim for "one and done"; one healthy and fertile grandchild to continue their line.

Only the very motivated/endangered/talented/stable should be encouraged to have more. Having children is a privilege.. I'm not a eugenicist but a humanist!

I agree with the eugenics aspect, but one and done does not make mathematical sense for the population as such. It either condemns you to eventual destruction or a backlash that sees rapid population growth (whether yours’ or your conquerors’, I cannot say – maybe your dark age descendants after the fall of civilization?).

How did the West shut off food aid to starving India?

The West reduced food aid and diverted resources to the “green (genetic) revolution” in agriculture that increased yields by orders of magnitude.

By analogy, with food aid, the West had been taking the Indian population out on the edge of a plank … a few more steps and they would fall into the ocean and drown. What if there was a radical reduction in or a logistical disruption of Western food supplies? The answer: Mass starvation involving hundreds of millions of people.

We’re reliving the latter scenario in sub-Saharan Africa today. Stop the food trucks and there is massive starvation. Keep the food trucks coming and there are orders-of-magnitude increases in population that require ever more food trucks … and so ad nauseam into a distant future.
