From the Chicago Sun-Times:

At major Northwest Side bakery, labor issues pit blacks vs. Hispanics Frank Main and Dan Mihalopoulos

A major bakery on the Northwest Side [of Chicago] once known for making Little Debbie snack cakes was sold earlier this month after an immigration audit cost the company about a third of its workers.

About 800 employees of the main Cloverhill Bakery on the Northwest Side and the company’s bakeries in Cicero and Romeoville lost their jobs when the audit found many were hired after presenting fake or stolen IDs. …

Aryzta bought Cloverhill in 2014. At the time, according to bakery employees and community organizers, most of the employees were natives of Mexico, most who’d been hired through Labor Network, a temporary-employment agency.

But many of those workers weren’t temporary in the dictionary sense of the word. Most were so-called “permatemps” — temp workers who actually were permanently employed at Cloverhill. Most had been there for years, at least, and some for decades.

Maybe Robert Mueller, after nailing small-time identity theft grifter Richard Pinedo, could pay attention to this kind of massive identity scam?

In 2015, under the Obama administration, ICE inspected the documentation of Labor Network’s employees at Cloverhill. In May 2017, the Trump administration sent letters to about 800 employees, saying they weren’t authorized to work in the United States, records examined by the Chicago Sun-Times show.

Those Hispanic employees didn’t return to work, leaving the bakery desperate to fill their jobs. So the company turned to another placement agency, Metro Staff Inc., and it provided Cloverhill with workers screened through the government’s “E-Verification” program. Most of those new employees are African American.

Ed French, owner of Elgin-based Metro Staff Inc., says his company became the main provider of workers for the bakery and that about 80 percent of them are black. …

According to a former consultant to the bakery, MSI paid the black workers $14 an hour, versus the $10 an hour the Mexican workers were making through Labor Network.

The consultant, Felix Okwusa, says the bakery offered its remaining Hispanic workers a $1-an-hour premium to train the black replacement workers.

But Okwusa says Cloverhill soon ran into problems. In a memo to the company, Okwusa, who is African American, wrote that the black workers “displayed a higher turnover rate of over 40 percent and a lower efficiency rate than their Hispanic co-workers.” …

Lynne Lane, a union steward at Cloverhill, says there are tensions as the two groups work side by side. Lane, who is black, says it was black workers at the bakery who called a government hotline to report the Mexican workers to immigration authorities.

“It was [African American] workers in the plant that saw, you know, like I said, that had been treated unfairly and treated like secondary-class citizens” by Hispanic workers, Lane says. “So it was a whole lot of employees in the company. Well, they was given a number, as far as I know. They was given a number to call … to call Immigration.”

Black man who knows how whites feel about the 20th century after watching Black Panther:

    L.‏ @leslieleeiii

Black Panther is a deeply evil film. It dangles the idea of global black liberation in front of you, paints that as villainous, then ends in an orgy of the freest black people to ever walk the earth slaughtering each other to protect whites. That shit turned my stomach.

The people that make movies like Black Panther very much want politically impotent black leaders such as Mandela or MLK, the type that is welcomed at Davos and generally do not pose any threat to the global establishment, what they really do not want is black leaders such as Malcolm X or Farrakhan. This is why they are advertising Black Panther so absolutely hard, my guess however is that when the "most important graph in the world" starts to very seriously determine global geopolitics, then compliant Uncle Tom superheroes such as Black Panther are not going to appeal to the worlds dominant demographic majority.
    , @Russ
A sage observation -- doubtlessly rejected by Rotten Tomatoes.

LOL, did that really happen in the movie? I might need to go see it then; That's some funny shit.

I will wait until it's in the $2 theatre and smoke a spliff first though.

How many years of experience did the black employees have in comparision to the years of illegally gained employment experience of the illegally employed Hispanic workers who had left and who had apparently been protected in thier illegal conduct - for years - by the Hispanic employees that were either citizens or legally authorized to work in the US?
    , @Anonymous

Okwusa, who is African American, ...

Nice little snow job by the Sun-Times - clearly not the paper read by smart people in the Windy City.

Regular/busy readers will associate the term "African American" with descent from slaves who were brought to America against their will.

Mr. Felix Okwusa is presumably of recent Nigerian extraction and thus in the proud tradition of those who SOLD slaves for shipment to America.

Interesting that (real) African Americans allow a Nigerian middleman to insinuate himself into their labor dispute. Perhaps the Nigerian's native expertise in dealing with corrupt government bureaucrat proved a decisive strength.

You nailed the key phrase in the piece, right there.

I'd throw in a couple other paragraphs as pretty informative:

According to a former consultant to the bakery, MSI paid the black workers $14 an hour, versus the $10 an hour the Mexican workers were making through Labor Network.

    And

Steve this is a terrific post.

It's not capturing the high level stuff--the JPod/David Brooks/Brett Stephens/Jennifer Rubin style Jewish hostility to white gentiles having a nation, nor the (related) issue of the parasite party simply wanting more fringe (non-white, less-small-r-republican) voters.

But at the street level it's touching on or at hinting at a whole slew of issues that underlie our immigration insanity:
-- greed for cheaper and more compliant workers
-- white good-thinkers being uncomfortable with/preferring not to order blacks around
-- black attitudes and competency putting them at the bottom of the "desirable worker" pyramid
    -- Mexican v. black friction
-- the coalition of the fringes really being an elite Jewish ideological/political creation but essentially never existing on the ground; (on the ground almost all groups--blacks, Mexicans, Asians, American Indians--get along better with whites than they do with their fringy brethern)

  3. Good idea — since Jews don’t the media doesn’t really go for the ‘keep America white’ angle, we can frame enforcing immigration law as ‘helping black folks get jobs’ — not that suggesting Blacks need help getting menial jobs is racist or anything.

Next: eliminating H-1B — selling that as ‘helping black folks get jobs’ will be tougher, but perceived as less racist, since it implies they can actually do those jobs.

Yup. Ah to live in Dana's circles and not even realize that there are Americans who are not white/Jewish.

Back to the main post, this article got me thinking about a time many years ago (probably W's first term) where a local Chinese buffet was raided by ICE and the next time I was in there many of the Chinese workers had been replaced by Hispanics (in my area they'd be Puerto Ricans). It now wouldn't surprise if some cheesed off Puerto Rican called The Man in on his boss's relatives.
    , @Anonymous
Miniscule numbers of blacks can do what H-1B's do, but that isn't the point.

Liberals and cucks would have to openly concede HBD and the differential IQ of the races to mount an effective protest, and they are not going to do that.

e-Verify IS the big stuff. Put some employers in jail and hit companies with big fines and you cut off the jobs in a hurry. Without jobs, the most powerful magnet for illegal immigration gets turned off. Implement e-Verify and biometric testing for everybody coming into and out of the country, coupled with real penalties for overstaying a visa, and watch the number of illegals drop significantly.

Ending chain migration and the visa lottery is important, but not as important as shutting off the jobs spigot. Especially as blacks see their economic well-being improved by immigration control measures, we just might see black voting patterns swing 10 to 20% for the party that made it happen, in the spirit of Barbara Jordan.

    iSteve citizenism at its best.

    Same here.
    , @Polynikes
I was too, but the politics of it may not have presented that as an option. It seems logical but in the horse trading behind the scenes not everyone who is weak on immigration was necessarily a tax-cut hawk.
    , @MikeJa
Mandatory E-Verify would be nice but workplace raids enforce the law. I'm surprised it's taken Jeff Sessions a year to get going.
    , @Lot
    Me three.

The "tax cut" provision that raises taxes for many upper middle class Californians may wipe out half our local office holders. I'd gladly trade that for lower third world immigration. Instead we got nothing. The only thing actually passed by Trump his first year was something Jeb could have written and signed.

"I think we should be honest and admit that if every black person in the US were replaced with a random person from Mexico, the US would be a lot better off"

Mexico has way more murders than The U.S both in raw numbers and per capita despite having a much smaller Black population than The U.S.
    , @Joe Walker
The problem is that we are not replacing blacks with Hispanics. What we are doing is keeping the blacks we have and increasing the number of Hispanics. In other words, we are doing nothing to reduce the size of either the black or Hispanic populations but allowing them to grow at the expense of whites.
    , @Anonymous
    What would be the point?
    , @YetAnotherAnon
But black Americans are Americans, they were brought here through no fault of their own. They need jobs just like other Americans do. What you're saying may or may not be true, but it's irrelevant.
    , @Peter Akuleyev
That has been the guiding philosophy behind immigration since the 1960s. It is not a coincidence that we opened the doors to Mexicans at a point when American blacks were demanding more political power and were rapidly increasing in population. Almost any business owner you can think of would prefer to hire an amenable, if slow, Mexican rather than a black person with attitude (or, for that matter, a low IQ white with attitude).
    , @MSP
Blacks in Chicago are Americans and should be preferred over foreign workers. It's not like you can fix these problems overnight, but actually having jobs for people in the black community is a necessary first step.
    , @Hapalong Cassidy
This, in a nutshell, describes the “stealth” racism towards blacks the left has practiced for decades. The first prong of it is abortion and Planned Parenthood, which has disproportionately targeted blacks. If abortion were completely illegal, there would be a lot more black people, and the left knows that. The second prong is immigration. While it doesn’t affect the black population in total, it has reduced their percentage of the total by a significant amount. If the 1965 immigration act had not been passed, and if abortion were illegal, instead of 15% of the population what would the black percentage be now? Maybe twice that at least?
    , @J.Ross
You can see that as technically true and still mitigate with the fact that the blacks are "current shareholders" to whom we owe obligations and the Mexicans are strangers to whom we owe nothing. Besides, why stop with Mexicans? And why start with blacks? Why not replace every white American with a Japanese or a Swiss?

Blacks always vote how they are told to vote by their Big Men. Who are rarely really of their own choosing.

Not all Blacks, but between 80 and a little over 90 percent, which is functionally the same thing.

When an election isn't important or when the black vote won't throw it anyway, they just don't tell the blacks to vote or how to and the results can be a wild card. When it's important, the word always gets out to the black rank and file and they vote as they 'be supposed to'.

The GOP can't play that game even if they wanted to. Walking around money? They have no idea how to hand it out, to whom or how much. Besides, it's kind of like some schmo offering to pull off a contract killing for the mob or a biker gang. Even if they had him do it, they aren't going to pay him, they are going to kill him because there are no consequences to doing so and they eliminate a witness and possible rat. The Dems know when they pay results will be had and if not they have some leverage in the matter. Probably not a rubout, but things like loss of ecclesiastical creditation, exposure of mistresses, et al. All these guys are heavily compromised.

The GOP needs to focus on who will vote for them, which is white men and their wives, provided they are not completely debased or a member of a special interest group to which the Dems pander already.

Diversity in immigration has always been used by big business to pit one group against the other.
That makes it harder for the workers to organize, since they hate each other. If they want even lower wages, then get even more immigrants.

Japanese vs. Chinese Hawaiian sugar cane fields, then they brought in Filipinos to undercut both of them.
    Irish vs. Chinese in railroads.
Indians (S. Asia) vs. Pakistanis in taxi drivers, then Uber came along and got every immigrant under the sun to undercut the Indians and Pakistanis.

I think we should be honest and admit that if every black person in the US were replaced with a random person from Mexico, the US would be a lot better off.

The problem is that we are not replacing blacks with Hispanics. What we are doing is keeping the blacks we have and increasing the number of Hispanics. In other words, we are doing nothing to reduce the size of either the black or Hispanic populations but allowing them to grow at the expense of whites.

Mexico has way more murders than The U.S both in raw numbers and per capita despite having a much smaller Black population than The U.S.

But our predominantly white law enforcement agencies are better than Mexico’s predominantly Hispanic ones. The murder rate in the US would probably be a lot higher if it wasn’t for all the white cops keeping the blacks under control.

In Mexico the drug cartels work hand-in-hand with the police and politicians. Only 10% of crimes in Mexico are ever reported and 98% of murders are never solved. If you call the police to report a murder, the first thing the police do is call their contact at the drug cartel to let them know who reported it, in case they want to handle the witness.

In a memo to the company, Okwusa, who is African American, wrote that the black workers “displayed a higher turnover rate of over 40 percent and a lower efficiency rate than their Hispanic co-workers.”

I guess the solution for this would be to bring back indentured servitude, which would virtually eliminate the problem of employee turnover.

So that would make him African-African.

A former employer once had a contract for a government agency. One assignment was to alter the personnel database to change the race field of every “Black” to “African-American.” Many first-generation Caribbeans and Africans magically became AA.

The way to deal with the ‘Oh, wow, those IDs were fake, who knew?” situation is either to require that companies outsource this to qualified and approved contracting companies, like the Consumer Product Safety Commission requires for things like lead testing, or require audit trails where the ID checker must be identified himself and affirmatively state, on a form or a computer screen, the steps taken to verify ID, complete with record retention requriements such as clear digital photos of the ID and check-offs like “The Illinois drivers license shown was verified under magnification to have clear micro printing of the word ILLINOIS inside the upper left border,” and so on. If there is a future problem, it will be easy to prove fraud by a particular individual and send him to the slammer.

Making sure that citizens have jobs - all citizens - will help save the black community from the plague visited upon them by soft-headed liberals and leftists: namely, welfare and all other forms of dependency, including the doctrine of blacks as victims. I just want to make sure he gets credit for it, and that everyone understands that the root cause for black unemployment is illegal immigration.

Agree with your sentiment, but consider that more blacks have immigrated to the USA of their own free will in any recent ten-year period than were brought here during the entire 300 years of the Middle Passage. So while your sentiments are laudable, they may not be entirely legitimate.

Many, many of the black people you encounter in America today had nothing whatever to do with slavery, except insofar as their ancestors may well have sold other Africans into slavery.

That has been the guiding philosophy behind immigration since the 1960s. It is not a coincidence that we opened the doors to Mexicans at a point when American blacks were demanding more political power and were rapidly increasing in population. 37. Speaking of Mueller…

Mueller Indictment – The “Russian Influence” Is A Commercial Marketing Scheme

The published indictment gives support to our long held believe that there was no “Russian influence” campaign during the U.S. election. What is described and denounced as such was instead a commercial marketing scheme which ran click-bait websites to generate advertisement revenue and created online crowds around virtual persona to promote whatever its commercial customers wanted to promote. The size of the operation was tiny when compared to the hundreds of millions in campaign expenditures. It had no influence on the election outcome.

The indictment is fodder for the public to prove that the Mueller investigation is “doing something”. It distracts from further questioning the origin of the Steele dossier. It is full of unproven assertions and assumptions. It is a sham in that none of the Russian persons or companies indicted will ever come in front of a U.S. court. That is bad because the indictment is build on the theory of a new crime which, unless a court throws it out, can be used to incriminate other people in other cases and might even apply to this blog. The later part of this post will refer to that.

I know MLK expressed similar sentiments but it was interesting to see this written in the 2000's.

Agree - Barry is most likely African-American by descent from Marshal Davis or some other individual.

Ann Dunham's alleged marriage with Barack Obama never happened. A dump of CIA surveillance documents from the period after Barry's birth refers to his mother as "Miss Dunham."

Hillary's team almost certainly knew much of the true story but was unable to use it for political reasons. If she had challenged him, he would have pulled some "poor fatherless child" and "put-upon African-American" drama which would have finished Hillary politically with the Democratic electorate.

Even if the Kenyan was actually the bio-dad (or accepted paternity in Marshal Davis' place), there was most likely no marriage at all. Obama senior would have had to state his marital status on immigration forms, and bigamy would have led to instant expulsion. Even if he had purported to marry Ann, the marriage would have been invalid due to bigamy.

Legally, if Ann was unmarried when Barry was born (I think he may be 2-3 years older than he claims), then Obama would be eligible for the presidency EVEN IF born outside the U.S. This may be why Hillary never challenged him.

Good idea -- since Jews don't the media doesn't really go for the 'keep America white' angle, we can frame enforcing immigration law as 'helping black folks get jobs' -- not that suggesting Blacks need help getting menial jobs is racist or anything.

Next: eliminating H-1B -- selling that as 'helping black folks get jobs' will be tougher, but perceived as less racist, since it implies they can actually do those jobs.

I think we should be honest and admit that if every black person in the US were replaced with a random person from Mexico, the US would be a lot better off.

The percentage would be lower than 15%, maybe even as low as 10%. Welfare reservations (+) the drug trade (-) the steady influx of Caribbean and African immigrants would have dropped the AA population significantly. Single mothers (especially when fostered en masse by government money) raise desperate children (as someone who lived through NYC 's crack epidemic, I noticed that the majority of the lower-level/senselessly violent dealers were young men who needed the false status/money that dealing created to attract mates. As long as Uncle Sugar was/is supplying free food and lodging to women, men have to provide more than three hots and a cot to impress women.) Remove West Indian Archie and Big Belly Benni from lower income neighbourhoods in the 80's, there's no one for any potential kingpin to scapegoat, leading those young AA men to turn against each other in the search for profit.

  47. Why do people keep expecting peasant-culture people to not have peasant-culture attitudes? The first thing any immigrant does in a new country is complain about the lower and underclass of their new home as if:
Those people were the overwhelming majority and that the host country doesn’t deserve it’s wealth, therefore they are shockingly underpaid and should cheat the welfare state.
That they are better than those people despite having a much more retrograde culture and displaying exactly the same attitude at home where they were paid substantially less. (Or is Mexico secretly a haven for high work ethics absent in the West? Same for Poland versus the UK etc…)

Of course the Mexicans were going to treat the local blacks badly. People work harder when they see their material conditions improve substantially for the same or less work, ergo immigration!

e-Verify IS the big stuff.

In a memo to the company, Okwusa, who is African American, wrote that the black workers “displayed a higher turnover rate of over 40 percent and a lower efficiency rate than their Hispanic co-workers.”

I guess the solution for this would be to bring back indentured servitude, which would virtually eliminate the problem of employee turnover.

the audit found many were hired after presenting fake or stolen IDs.

I'd like to thank the media and the FBI for reminding everyone how awful it is when foreigners pose as American citizens in order to do things only citizens are allowed to do.

In a memo to the company, Okwusa, who is African American, wrote that the black workers “displayed a higher turnover rate of over 40 percent and a lower efficiency rate than their Hispanic co-workers.”

You nailed the key phrase in the piece, right there.

I’d throw in a couple other paragraphs as pretty informative:

According to a former consultant to the bakery, MSI paid the black workers $14 an hour, versus the $10 an hour the Mexican workers were making through Labor Network.

    And

Lynne Lane, a union steward at Cloverhill, says there are tensions as the two groups work side by side. Lane, who is black, says it was black workers at the bakery who called a government hotline to report the Mexican workers to immigration authorities.

Steve this is a terrific post.

It’s not capturing the high level stuff–the JPod/David Brooks/Brett Stephens/Jennifer Rubin style Jewish hostility to white gentiles having a nation, nor the (related) issue of the parasite party simply wanting more fringe (non-white, less-small-r-republican) voters.

But at the street level it’s touching on or at hinting at a whole slew of issues that underlie our immigration insanity:
    – greed for cheaper and more compliant workers
    – white good-thinkers being uncomfortable with/preferring not to order blacks around
    – black attitudes and competency putting them at the bottom of the “desirable worker” pyramid
    – Mexican v. black friction
    – the coalition of the fringes really being an elite Jewish ideological/political creation but essentially never existing on the ground; (on the ground almost all groups–blacks, Mexicans, Asians, American Indians–get along better with whites than they do with their fringy brethern)

  54. Slightly OT, but related to being black in Chicago. During the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Washington Capitals hockey game, played at Chicago’s United Center, Devante Smith-Pelly of the Caps was taunted with a racial slur, while he was in the penalty box. The fans nearby chanted “Basketball, basketball, basketball” at Smith-Pelly, who is black. I am sure that soon, when the rare white player on an NBA team stands at the foul line he will be greeted with chants of “Hockey, hockey, hockey.” The United Center is named after the sponsoring airline, not, you know, people coming together.

Instead of trying to helped blacks why doesn’t Steve Sailer mention about the recent raid in Los Angeles-Anaheim which helped a lot of 2nd and 3rd generation latinos. Latinos and Asians that don’t like the immigration is the way to go, forget the blacks which will never vote much for immigration restriction as much as even Latinos and Asians.

Good catch. We pit one group against another, but they of course unify all good people to fight as one against legacy Americans.

Good idea -- since Jews don't the media doesn't really go for the 'keep America white' angle, we can frame enforcing immigration law as 'helping black folks get jobs' -- not that suggesting Blacks need help getting menial jobs is racist or anything.

Next: eliminating H-1B -- selling that as 'helping black folks get jobs' will be tougher, but perceived as less racist, since it implies they can actually do those jobs.

    https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DWNSFI0VQAAPZQM.jpg

Miniscule numbers of blacks can do what H-1B’s do, but that isn’t the point.

Also, there’s a tipping point — Mexico has passed it but the US has not — beyond which the police come to fear the criminals more than the criminals fear the police. Assassinations of policemen and judges, common in Mexico, are still rare here.

The people that make movies like Black Panther very much want politically impotent black leaders such as Mandela or MLK, the type that is welcomed at Davos and generally do not pose any threat to the global establishment, what they really do not want is black leaders such as Malcolm X or Farrakhan. This is why they are advertising Black Panther so absolutely hard, my guess however is that when the “most important graph in the world” starts to very seriously determine global geopolitics, then compliant Uncle Tom superheroes such as Black Panther are not going to appeal to the worlds dominant demographic majority.

Agree with that. But i think it's pretty clear that what was going on was a subsidy to high tax state residents. There's no reason you folks should get to deduct your extra high local tax payments.

All else being equal, those high taxes in California should correspond to higher services for Californians. I.e. you're paying for something which benefits you--and perhaps which someone in some other state must provide for themselves. Now, of course, that's not someone the typical California Republican wants to hear, because they are--correctly--aware that those higher taxes in fact are just looting by an expansive parasitic state sector, and now they have to pay a larger part of the cost of it themselves (rather than see it shifted to other state's taxpayers).

It seems to me a good way to tackle these sort of "take back" reforms is to do a huge reform that creates a new code with much lower rates and slashes away absolutely everything (but child deductions). Then taxpayers can decided if they want to mess with the old code. Most people would not.

    ~~

That said, it's disappointing this sort of tax reform was what we got from Trump the first year. If he was going to do tax reform i'd like to have seen one that cut all other deductions to really rewarded his base--strongly biased toward family formation and baby making. Huge non-refundable child deductions. Large enough to tempt more young couple to go ahead and get married and have their first kid, and large enough to tempt more college educated women to have another kid and stay home a few more years.

Mexicans are better workers than blacks so of course any company would prefer them as a workforce hence the third-party labor supplier dodge. Blacks always file lawsuits and scam the system as well as have a lot of turnover. Not to justify illegal immigration but at $10p/hr there’s not a lot of competition for those factory jobs and they had to up it to $14 for the blacks.
Chicago is a sanctuary city so you can see that this sort of thing comes down from the very top. The mayor Rahm Emanuel has introduced a Chicago ID card for those who have no other IDs so obviously this is pitched to the illegal population. There was a story in one of the local papers recently that this Chicago ID would be accepted for voting purposes. This means that they want ineligible illegals to vote but pretend not to know this just like the company pretended not to know they had illegals working there.

If we needed a tax increase, ending the state and local deductions might have been OK. Instead they were raised to pay for giant tax cuts mainly for those with $1 million and higher incomes, plus some crumbs for the middle class, many of which have expirations on them.

Whatever its dubious merits, Trump's tax increase on many normally republican-voting residents of suburban CA/NY/IL/NJ will likely be the biggest factor for the GOP losing the House. You single out one demographic for a tax increase while everyone else gets a cut, that is the predictable result.

It also underscores Trump's general dishonesty in his campaign promises. He advocated to end the carried interest rule that lets Wall Street scumbags pay 20% federal rates on their income instead of ordinary income rates. Of course he broke that promise.

Despite my libertarian leanings, I am all for mandatory ID cards that show your citizenship/legal residency status and that you need to produce to get a job or vote. Most countries operate this way, including Mexico.

Flip, NYC grants ID cards, which gives the bearer access to city services, no questions about citizenship asked! California allows anyone to apply for a driver’s license, no questions about citizenship asked! California now automatically enrolls the applicant for a driver’s license into the voter rolls. There is something about the political atmosphere of NY and California that is similar.

Actually, getting a license in California is a bit of a pain in the ass unless you are a Mexican. The whole system is set up not so much to accommodate aliens as it is to specifically accommodate Mexicans. If a person is from some other nation, the bureaucrats are confused and nonplussed and unearth all kinds of hoops one must jump through to get to a point where one can do the things the system is already set up to do straightaway for Mexicans. The actual legislation of course is neutral, but the practice is to favour Mexicans (and begrudgingly accommodate others to keep with the letter of the statute...).

As to the idea of an identification. Well, for very good reasons we maintain a tradition against "show us your papers!," but that – like juries, democracy, governmental welfare, and so much else – only works for a homogenous society with secure borders. Sadly, instead of choosing to be very strict about who can enter the place so we can permit those within great freedom (knowing they belong here and, barring the odd psychopath, mean us no harm) we have chosen to let everyone and his brother come and go as he pleases, and are this on the fast track to control and distrust between governmental officials and laypersons and amongst those laypersons. It's like choosing promiscuous sodomy and a cocktail of anti-retroviral drugs every day over just being discerning about sex in the first place. (Another area in which the more assinine choice has become the accepted way of doing things – not merely coincidentally!)

  75. After they switched from a Hispanic to a black workforce:

The owner of Little Debbie [their main customer] walked away, saying its orders no longer were getting filled on time by Cloverhill, and revenues fell for the bakery’s corporate owner, the Swiss food conglomerate Aryzta.

Finally, Aryzta had enough and sold the bakeries

This does not strike me as an unqualified success. The reason that American companies either moved manufacturing overseas or switched to a Hispanic workforce is that American blacks are not really great employees. They didn’t do a great job putting together Detroit cars, they are not great at your local post office and DMV, they are not great anywhere. They work less hard than Hispanics, they don’t show up or show up late and they cause more problems in the workplace. There is a big commercial bakery near where I live and they have a mostly black workforce but they are all Liberians and not American blacks. Ever since the US expanded welfare, American blacks prefer to receive welfare (or take government jobs where they can get away with slacking off) instead of working in private industry.

I call them smart, industrious citizens who are protecting their rights. They don't WANT to have to go on benefits because illegals took over their job or brought down wages with unfair competitions.

Stop fooling yourself. Most black employees are only smart and industrious in Wakanda. The ones we have here – not so much. Blacks want to work up to a point but their lives are “complicated” – the car won’t start, the babysitter didn’t show up, their son got arrested and they need to bail him out, etc. Somehow stuff keeps getting in the way of them being smart and industrious.

Beats the f*ck out of me. Slavery was America's original sin. People have been trying to figure out what to do with free blacks since Jefferson's time and no one has ever come up with a good answer outside of comic book fantasies. It looks like we are permanently stuck with a large low IQ population that is more fertile than whites. Without the immigration that we had in the last 50 years it would be even worse. Since we live in a world where brains are more important than brawn, the problem is only going to get worse.

A few things would be helpful: 1. Figuring out a way to increase white fertility (without increasing non-white fertility even more). 2. Figuring out a way to decrease black fertility - abortion and birth control have been great for this. It would also be nice to figure out a way to put the black family back together again and make 2 parent families the black norm again instead of the rare exception. Illegitimacy rates were always higher with blacks but never as high as they are now. 3. Figuring out a way to get more whites to immigrate to the US. Maybe as Europe spins out of control this will become popular again.

Blacks may be less conscientious workers but remember the old saying "the devil makes works for idle hands." Much cheaper for society to subsidise an inefficient black factory worker than house and monitor a black prisoner. However, neo-liberal economists don't think about the overall costs of their policies. All they think about is efficiency and short-term profits. Social costs are for the general taxpayer to worry about.

By that logic the gov’t should subsidize, at some level, businesses that employ lots of blacks.

The “tax cut” provision that raises taxes for many upper middle class Californians may wipe out half our local office holders. I’d gladly trade that for lower third world immigration. Instead we got nothing. The only thing actually passed by Trump his first year was something Jeb could have written and signed.

If we needed a tax increase, ending the state and local deductions might have been OK. Instead they were raised to pay for giant tax cuts mainly for those with $1 million and higher incomes, plus some crumbs for the middle class, many of which have expirations on them.

Whatever its dubious merits, Trump’s tax increase on many normally republican-voting residents of suburban CA/NY/IL/NJ will likely be the biggest factor for the GOP losing the House. You single out one demographic for a tax increase while everyone else gets a cut, that is the predictable result.

It also underscores Trump’s general dishonesty in his campaign promises. He advocated to end the carried interest rule that lets Wall Street scumbags pay 20% federal rates on their income instead of ordinary income rates. Of course he broke that promise.

Mexico has way more murders than the U.S both in raw numbers and per capita despite having a much smaller Black population than The U.S.

You overlook that Mexico is 100% Mexican while the US still stands at only 15-20%.

Also, there's a tipping point — Mexico has passed it but the US has not — beyond which the police come to fear the criminals more than the criminals fear the police. Assassinations of policemen and judges, common in Mexico, are still rare here.

Mexico has to resort to its armed forces — and elite units yet — to fight druglords. https://m.mysanantonio.com/news/us-world/border-mexico/article/M-xico-Muere-capo-de-c-rtel-de-Sinaloa-en-11075836.php

Would we really want to import the Mexican cartels into the US?

We don't need to. They are already here. Freezing Mexicans out of honest jobs makes the illegal drug trade more attractive for them, and the cartels stronger.

But black Americans are Americans, they were brought here through no fault of their own. They need jobs just like other Americans do. What you're saying may or may not be true, but it's irrelevant.

That’s exactly right. I’ve been thinking about this since Mr. Trump was elected. Making sure that citizens have jobs – all citizens – will help save the black community from the plague visited upon them by soft-headed liberals and leftists: namely, welfare and all other forms of dependency, including the doctrine of blacks as victims. I just want to make sure he gets credit for it, and that everyone understands that the root cause for black unemployment is illegal immigration.

The more times this happens, the more likely that the smartest blacks will vote to return President Trump to office in 2020.

I remember during the end of the Clinton years, the unemployment rate went down so far that many people who were considered unemployable were getting jobs. This included a number of urban blacks who were considered to be hopeless.

There has always been the myth that Hispanics had to be hired because blacks didn't want to work. I lived in the Greenwich Village neighborhood for a few years in the early 90s. Around that time, some newspaper reporters interviewed the deli owners at the corner nearest my apartment. These guys hired illegal aliens, and claimed blacks wouldn't take the jobs. Thing is, they never advertised the jobs, and the Mexicans knew they should go from deli to deli until someone hired them.

Not long afterwards, a new store opened in that area. They had a few hindered openings, at most. Every day for a week I saw lines going around the block, and right in from of the delis. There were people standing in line all day for the chance to work. Oh, and every one that I saw in line was black.

There were about 10 times as many applicants waiting in line as there were jobs. Some other new store openings in Chicago had 20 to 30 times as many applicants as jobs. We are talking up to 10,000 blacks waiting in line.

    So, do black jobs matter?

But our predominantly white law enforcement agencies are better than Mexico's predominantly Hispanic ones. The murder rate in the US would probably be a lot higher if it wasn't for all the white cops keeping the blacks under control.

Like so much else, the same thing that happened to downscale blacks-from the destruction of the nuclear family to the hollowing out of jobs-began to hit working class whites a few decades later. It is really more of a class based issue than anything: the blacks just got hit first, for a mix of reasons. The only thing that has changed is that the Democrats now take the position the Republicans did regarding blacks in the 80s. Normally, political polarization would mean the GOP takes the opposite tack, but since the GOP remains as incapable of criticizing employers as ever, this leaves the alt-right to be in the weird position of the Democrats of the 1980s. One person's spoiled dysfunctional ingrates are another's oppressed, ripped off workers... and vice versa. All depends on who you fetishize and who you couldn't care less about.

(I should add-I think both views are wildly un-nuanced. There is a cultural problem in white working class communities, much like there was-there is-in poor black ones, especially regarding personal responsibility. It's not a shock that many employers would prefer to look elsewhere. But that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of employers, who have been spoiled absolutely rotten by the last few administrations, who would go out of their way to "ensure" that "no qualified native candidates" popped up in their search-skipping over genuinely qualified ones who are willing to work-just to save a quick buck. This is flagrantly against greater societal stability and health-and would never be tolerated by the real economic success stories of the modern era in Asia. This is a national security issue, properly framed.)

If the GOP had an iota of common sense politically, they'd take them out to the woodshed to the mass delight of the American electorate. They can have their cake and eat it too: pick up the Rust Belt white votes that give them the electoral college, and pick up an increasing share of citizen minorities on the side. If the Democrats wish to be the party of rich foreigners and SJW upper-middle class liberals over American workers-of all races-let them be, and make that the issue. And while we bring up people like Gompers and Chavez, the media gets ever more deranged and shrill. Easy win. Shame someone as unreliable as Trump is the standard bearer now...

Black Panther is a deeply evil film. It dangles the idea of global black liberation in front of you, paints that as villainous, then ends in an orgy of the freest black people to ever walk the earth slaughtering each other to protect whites. That shit turned my stomach.

And how all the (((entertainment))) whites are fed is oriented.

Is this necessarily true? From a pure average IQ perspective, sure there’s some incremental gain. My impression though is that Latin Americans tend to be much better at the organized drug trade than blacks are. Would we really want to import the Mexican cartels into the US?

this is why so many Republicans want amnesty and refuse to allow E-verify and will continue to oppose building a wall along our southern border. Blacks make poor workers, demand higher wages, work less, are less reliable and cause more problems for employers.

the number of white workers in America has actually fallen significantly over the last 40 years. in 1970 there were 160 million whites under the age of 50 while today just 125 million whites are under the age of 50. The US population has grown by 50% and the number of Blacks has grown by 100% since 1970 while the white population has stagnated. If we had closed our borders in 1975 20% of the population would be Blackety Black Black today...

In 1970 over 80% of the work force was white, today just 60% of our workforce is white. More whites are over the age of 60 than under the age of 15 today. Hard to see how the demographics of the future can be altered at this point. even if the borders are closed completely next year whites will be a minority by 2057 instead of in the year 2050.

“this is why so many Republicans want amnesty and refuse to allow E-verify and will continue to oppose building a wall along our southern border. Blacks make poor workers, demand higher wages, work less, are less reliable and cause more problems for employers.”

Most of the 1% who employ illegal immigrants are Democrats not Republicans. The 1% have not voted majority Republican since George W. Bush in 2004. Barack Hussein Obama won the 1% twice in 2008 and 2012.

You nailed the key phrase in the piece, right there.

I'd throw in a couple other paragraphs as pretty informative:

According to a former consultant to the bakery, MSI paid the black workers $14 an hour, versus the $10 an hour the Mexican workers were making through Labor Network.

    And

Lynne Lane, a union steward at Cloverhill, says there are tensions as the two groups work side by side. Lane, who is black, says it was black workers at the bakery who called a government hotline to report the Mexican workers to immigration authorities.

Steve this is a terrific post.

“Uncle Tom superheroes such as Black Panther”

How is The Black Panther an Uncle Tom when Wakanda is literally 100% Black, he does not accept any Nonblack immigration into Wakanda whatsoever. Not even Japan is 100% Japanese. Wakanda is more of an ethno-state than Japan is.

“the Mexicans are strangers to whom we owe nothing”

Spain used to colonize Mexico not The U.S, so Spain should be having mass immigration from Mexico not The U.S.

Mexicans would assimilate in Spain way better than they would in The U.S because they already share a common language which is Spanish. Spain can assimilate Spanish speaking Catholics from Mexico way better than they can assimilate Arabic speaking Muslims from North Africa.

A quibble: Spain is full of intelligent, white Europeans. The white Europeans in Mexico (a distinct minority) mostly do quite well in Mexico and have no interest in emigrating. The people pouring out of Mexico are relatively stupid Amerindians and mestizos and such, many of whom don't speak Spanish (at best they speak a bastardised version haltingly) and who have weird syncretic beliefs in goofy shit like Santo Muerte; they are as alien to Spain's white atheists and Christians as are Negro Muslims....

These same blacks who're benefitting from Trump's "white supremacist" immigration actions will still trot off to the polls to vote Democrat in 2018 and 2020. And in Chicago some will even vote from Democrats 4-5 times.

So true, sadly. Confirmation is found from the mouth of LeBron James, and from the Windy City belief that “community organizer” is the apotheosis of professional accomplishment.

Moreover, those soldiers go with their faces covered lest they and their families meet an unfortunate fate such as...https://www.theguardian.com/world/2009/dec/23/mexican-marines-family-gunned-down

The trailer for Sicario 2: Soldado is another reminder that Mexico is a shithole and not part of the civilized Western world.

Vicente Fox criticizes Donald Trump for the Florida school shooting, but that pales in comparison to the number of murders that happened in Mexico under Vicente Fox’s watch. You know what they say about stones and glass houses. Vicente Fox needs to shut the hell up and clean up his own dysfunctional Mexican backyard.

With the level of violence that goes on in Mexico, Mexico can easily be called the Spanish speaking version of Syria and Afghanistan.

By that criterion, Obama is not African American (if you believe the Kenyan was his father, which I don't.)

Agree – Barry is most likely African-American by descent from Marshal Davis or some other individual.

Ann Dunham’s alleged marriage with Barack Obama never happened. A dump of CIA surveillance documents from the period after Barry’s birth refers to his mother as “Miss Dunham.”

Hillary’s team almost certainly knew much of the true story but was unable to use it for political reasons. If she had challenged him, he would have pulled some “poor fatherless child” and “put-upon African-American” drama which would have finished Hillary politically with the Democratic electorate.

Even if the Kenyan was actually the bio-dad (or accepted paternity in Marshal Davis’ place), there was most likely no marriage at all.

You left out the Irish. Nobody but robber barons wanted them here.

e-Verify IS the big stuff.

Blacks always vote how they are told to vote by their Big Men. Who are rarely really of their own choosing.

Not all Blacks, but between 80 and a little over 90 percent, which is functionally the same thing.

When an election isn’t important or when the black vote won’t throw it anyway, they just don’t tell the blacks to vote or how to and the results can be a wild card. When it’s important, the word always gets out to the black rank and file and they vote as they ‘be supposed to’.

The GOP can’t play that game even if they wanted to. Walking around money? They have no idea how to hand it out, to whom or how much. Besides, it’s kind of like some schmo offering to pull off a contract killing for the mob or a biker gang. Even if they had him do it, they aren’t going to pay him, they are going to kill him because there are no consequences to doing so and they eliminate a witness and possible rat.

During the Obama administration I saw an article on some black issues website that called for Obama to stop lecturing Black America because... he isn't black. Not "not black as we typically conceive of Blackness here in America" - just "not black", because his father is African.

I know MLK expressed similar sentiments but it was interesting to see this written in the 2000's.

Everything Obama knows about being black he picked up from Spike Lee’s “Malcolm X,” the Barbershop movies, Reverend Wright sermons, and being married to Michelle.

But black Americans are Americans, they were brought here through no fault of their own. They need jobs just like other Americans do. What you're saying may or may not be true, but it's irrelevant.

    >There has always been the myth that Hispanics had to be hired because blacks didn’t want to work. I lived in the Greenwich Village neighborhood for a few years in the early 90s. Thing is, they never advertised the jobs, and the Mexicans knew they should go from deli to deli until someone hired them.

One person’s spoiled dysfunctional ingrates are another’s oppressed, ripped off workers… and vice versa. All depends on who you fetishize and who you couldn’t care less about.

(I should add-I think both views are wildly un-nuanced. There is a cultural problem in white working class communities, much like there was-there is-in poor black ones, especially regarding personal responsibility. It’s not a shock that many employers would prefer to look elsewhere. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of employers, who have been spoiled absolutely rotten by the last few administrations, who would go out of their way to “ensure” that “no qualified native candidates” popped up in their search-skipping over genuinely qualified ones who are willing to work-just to save a quick buck. This is flagrantly against greater societal stability and health-and would never be tolerated by the real economic success stories of the modern era in Asia. This is a national security issue, properly framed.)

If the GOP had an iota of common sense politically, they’d take them out to the woodshed to the mass delight of the American electorate. Easy win. Shame someone as unreliable as Trump is the standard bearer now…

"But our predominantly white law enforcement agencies are better than Mexico’s predominantly Hispanic ones. The murder rate in the US would probably be a lot higher if it wasn’t for all the white cops keeping the blacks under control."

The reason Mexico has a much higher murder rate than The U.S is because the Mexican drug cartels are way more dangerous, violent, and murder way more people than low level Black American drugdealers from the projects.

The Mexican drug cartels murder a much larger swath of people like innocent civilians, journalists, news reporters, politicians, law enforcement, etc while low level Black American drugdealers mostly murder other low level Black American drugdealers.

low level Black American drugdealers mostly murder other low level Black American drugdealers.

Probably true, but 1) that’s the MSM version, which should arouse skepticism; and 2) there are millions of other black criminals besides ‘low-level drug dealers’..

Huh. Well,of course it's true: All invasions are the consequence of exclusion. If one could just waltz right into the place, one needn't go to the trouble of an armed invasion (cf. Europe and what used to be the U.S.A. today: no one bothers to invade violently, because people can just walk on in; Hell, they are actively recruited by unscrupulous employers and universities then given cash and prizes by even the government!).

Rape is similarly a call consequence of denying sex to the assailant (no one needs to force oneself upon an eager, nymphomaniacal slut); this all hardly justifies the invasion or the rape of the subject choosing to exercise the right of exclusion.

They didn't do a great job putting together Detroit cars, they are not great at your local post office and DMV, they are not great anywhere. They work less hard than Hispanics, they don't show up or show up late and they cause more problems in the workplace. There is a big commercial bakery near where I live and they have a mostly black workforce but they are all Liberians and not American blacks. Ever since the US expanded welfare, American blacks prefer to receive welfare (or take government jobs where they can get away with slacking off) instead of working in private industry.

    Aren’t Liberians American by definition?

    • Replies: @Jack D
Actually no. A very small # of descendants of American blacks (less than 5% of the population) formed the ruling class of Liberia who lorded over a much larger number of native Africans (the other 95%, consisting of various tribes). In 1980, native Liberian Samuel K. Doe overthrew the American descended leadership and killed (and ate) much of the ruling class. Eventually he too was executed. Two civil wars killed around 8% of the population and the size of the economy shrunk by 90%. But don't call it a shithole country - that would be racist.

    Aren't Liberians American by definition?

I can't find it know, but remember a quote from a Japanese-American at the time of the debate over the 1965 immigration law that Pearl Harbor was a consequence of Japanese exclusion.

Huh. Well,of course it’s true: All invasions are the consequence of exclusion. If one could just waltz right into the place, one needn’t go to the trouble of an armed invasion (cf.

Flip, NYC grants ID cards, which gives the bearer access to city services, no questions about citizenship asked! California allows anyone to apply for a driver's license, no questions about citizenship asked! California now automatically enrolls the applicant for a driver's license into the voter rolls.

The actual legislation of course is neutral, but the practice is to favour Mexicans (and begrudgingly accommodate others to keep with the letter of the statute…).

As to the idea of an identification. Well, for very good reasons we maintain a tradition against “show us your papers!,” but that – like juries, democracy, governmental welfare, and so much else – only works for a homogenous society with secure borders. It’s like choosing promiscuous sodomy and a cocktail of anti-retroviral drugs every day over just being discerning about sex in the first place. (Another area in which the more assinine choice has become the accepted way of doing things – not merely coincidentally!)

"the Mexicans are strangers to whom we owe nothing"

Spain used to colonize Mexico not The U.S, so Spain should be having mass immigration from Mexico not The U.S.

Mexicans would assimilate in Spain way better than they would in The U.S because they already share a common language which is Spanish. Spain can assimilate Spanish speaking Catholics from Mexico way better than they can assimilate Arabic speaking Muslims from North Africa.

A quibble: Spain is full of intelligent, white Europeans. The white Europeans in Mexico (a distinct minority) mostly do quite well in Mexico and have no interest in emigrating. The people pouring out of Mexico are relatively stupid Amerindians and mestizos and such, many of whom don’t speak Spanish (at best they speak a bastardised version haltingly) and who have weird syncretic beliefs in goofy shit like Santo Muerte; they are as alien to Spain’s white atheists and Christians as are Negro Muslims….

LOL, did that really happen in the movie? I might need to go see it then; That’s some funny shit.

I will wait until it’s in the $2 theatre and smoke a spliff first though.

Slightly OT, but related to being black in Chicago. During the Chicago Blackhawks vs. Washington Capitals hockey game, played at Chicago's United Center, Devante Smith-Pelly of the Caps was taunted with a racial slur, while he was in the penalty box. The fans nearby chanted "Basketball, basketball, basketball" at Smith-Pelly, who is black. I am sure that soon, when the rare white player on an NBA team stands at the foul line he will be greeted with chants of "Hockey, hockey, hockey." The United Center is named after the sponsoring airline, not, you know, people coming together.

Sounds like a reasonable career change suggestion.

An watch Smith shake his hockey stick ….
There are no safe places at a hockey rink.

"Lane, who is black, says it was black workers at the bakery who called a government hotline to report the Mexican workers to immigration authorities."

Tariq Nasheed would call these Blacks Uncle Toms and Aunt Jemimas for calling ICE on these White supremacist Hispanics who are in this country illegally.

    Oh, you like Tariq?

I don't know what goofy methodology and theories undergird this pronouncement, but if you think Spain is worse (economically or otherwise) than any country – any country at all you may mention – in Africa, or many in Asia and Central America (El Salvador, Nicaragua, Sri Lanka, Papua New Guinea, North Korea, Mongolia...) then I've got a bridge to sell you here in the San Francisco Bay, Homie.

The percentage would be lower than 15%, maybe even as low as 10%. Welfare reservations (+) the drug trade (-) the steady influx of Caribbean and African immigrants would have dropped the AA population significantly. Single mothers (especially when fostered en masse by government money) raise desperate children (as someone who lived through NYC ‘s crack epidemic, I noticed that the majority of the lower-level/senselessly violent dealers were young men who needed the false status/money that dealing created to attract mates. As long as Uncle Sugar was/is supplying free food and lodging to women, men have to provide more than three hots and a cot to impress women.) Remove West Indian Archie and Big Belly Benni from lower income neighbourhoods in the 80′s, there’s no one for any potential kingpin to scapegoat, leading those young AA men to turn against each other in the search for profit.

    “Black Jobs Matter”

BJM! If only some regular, working black people would take this up and run with it. There are some black guys on Youtube who’ve made videos about this idea; yes, they are Trump supporters.
