From the Toronto Sun:

‘He was smiling’: Girl, 11, recounts man slicing hijab with scissors

Jenny Yuen
January 12, 2018

Khawlah Noman and her brother had only been walking for two minutes when she became aware a man was following them on their way to school Friday morning.

The 11-year-old — a Grade 6 student of Pauline Johnson Junior Public School in Scarborough — and her sibling, Mohammad, were walking along Birchmount Rd., north of Sheppard Ave., around 9 a.m. when the stranger swiped at her blue hijab with a pair of scissors and sliced a 30 cm tear in the headdress.

“I screamed,” Noman said. “The man just ran away. We followed this crowd of people to be safe. He came again. He continued cutting my hijab again. He was smiling.”

Toronto Police describe the man as Asian, in his 20s, with a medium build, around 5-foot-10, with black hair and a moustache. He was wearing glasses, a black hoodie and black pants.

The man fled the scene after the frightening incident. …

Noman’s mom, who also spoke to media at the school Friday afternoon, teared up as she recounted seeing her daughter’s damaged headscarf.

“I came to the school right away,” a visibly upset Saima Samad said. “I’m just so happy she’s safe…It’s just not Canada. I’m so proud to be a Canadian and I feel safe in this community. It’s just, it’s not right. He should get help. This is not who we are.”

Thanks, Obama.

Samad said the family has lived in Canada for the 25 years and she grew up here, but she will exercise more caution when her kids walk to school from now on. …

Mom has lived in Canada for a quarter of a century but covers her face in public.

Wearing a hijab, she said, is a sacred part of the Muslim religion.

“It is offensive, obviously,” she said. “We don’t know his intentions. I’m very frustrated and angry. But we believe in peace. I want to give him the message — ‘We’re all in this together and we should live in harmony.’ It’s a multicultural country.”

In response, the Prime Minister tweeted:

But, surprise surprise, today in the Toronto National Post:

Toronto police say hijab-cutting incident never happened, investigation is closed

Toronto police say an 11-year-old girl’s report of having her hijab cut by a scissors-wielding man as she walked to school last week did not happen.

Police had been investigating the alleged incident as a hate crime and now say their investigation is concluded.

But now from the Toronto Globe & Mail:

The hijab story wasn’t true – but our compassion must not waver

Perhaps there are no more White men left in Toronto. So now the non Whites are fighting among themselves.

How do Canadian women and girls wear the hijab in winter? Under the parka or on top of the hood of the parks. The mother had her parka over hijab for her press conference.

If the hijab was under the parka, how did the evil Asian man get to it?
    , @jtgw
Actually, the fact that the perp was described as Asian as opposed to the traditional white man was a point in the story's favor (albeit the only point).

That’s just bizarre. Since when are hate hoaxes directed against Asians (and does the Canadian media use the term “Asian” in a similar fashion to the British? Real Asians don’t have mustaches). I can’t compute what this family was thinking when they concocted this tall tale, unless they figured the “evil racist white male attacking poor innocent Muslims” is becoming such a tired trope that throwing in an “Asian” offender would somehow add credibility through an element of sheer surprise. Asian or not Asian it’s the evil white society that made him do it after all lol.

The term has been "chip on your shoulder". Now we should add "hijab on your head".

Got to admit it is astonishing: national leadership is saying that even though it was a hoax, we should shower the perpetrators with praise and hate the imaginary culprit. Alinsky, Gramsci, and Trotsky would be amazed at how easy it has become.

Easy lesson Merkel should have learned back before that Palestinian girl at the town hall. If you are hearing a Muslim child (but especially a girl) complain about something through mass media or in public, that's her family and/or imam using her as a living sock puppet. Muslims are shameless and self-defeatingly frequent in using their kids as political tools. This is how they took back Spanish North Africa. Remember Ahmed the Clock Boy, who invented suitcases, and whose dad just happened to be an activist? Islam is a censorious, silence-maintaining society. Nobody speaks freely, least of all a girl. Nobody embarrasses the family. These are people who kill their daughters for dating the wrong guy. have you been to scarborough? Almost no whites left. Mostly brown people, with a significant east asian component.

Used to be a nice city, but now it is dodgy. My girlfriend and I passed through there when we were living further north. We saw sustained and continual sexual harassment of women, including car loads of low IQ looking Muslim men stopping at night to call Chinese girls waiting for the bus 'whores' and such. The media keeps a lock on these incidents. My girlfriend eventually purchased her first car to get away from the creeps.

  26. >He was smiling
This has in common with other hate hoaxes that they always go too far, they’re always too detailed, and the details are always sensational.
Let’s not forget the real-life political violence visited upon nominal Trump supporters, like Richard Spencer, Laura Southern and others, many of which are on video: the nearby people do nothing to help — because they’re all extremists who agree with and probably know the attacker, not because society is unfeeling. The attacker himself is not smiling, not gleeful, not taunting with a catchphrase. He’s furtive, painfully aware of the danger of getting caught, slouching and running away. This is what a real street attack looks like, with and without politics. In the hate hoaxes nobody of any background will help because that makes a more dramatic image, and the attacker is celebrating his awful impunity so he struts and declaims.

Nobody apoligizes when these hate hoaxes, political ideology shaming ,identity politics, and such are proven to be what they are. Finding sacrificial victims to maintain a cosmic worldview is the very touchtone of irrational tribal village culture. We used to pride ourselves in our millenium-long journey out of superstition, lying, and seeking out heretics to keep the people in line. We didn’t coin the term “witch hunt” for nothing. We have a long literature that cautions about the Convinced seeking witches to burn and monsters to destroy, because we thought we were moving into enligthenment. Legitimizing “feelings” over facts is decadent indulging in what we thought we had left behind.

  38. I’m just spitballing but I’m going to guess that the whole non-event was captured on several cameras between Degrassi and this poor Muslim girl’s home. The Police collected all of the video on the day in question and it either revealed no attack or revealed that the head rag was ripped by the girl or her brother etc. The Police statement is too definitive in concluding that her report of the (non-) incident was false for it to have been anything other than conclusive proof of its falsity. (FWIW, I think this is why there are so many hoaxes that get found out – these people are literally too stupid to know that everything is on camera now).

Which leads me to the next point – judging by the sheer number of these things that turn up to be hoaxes, wouldn’t it be more responsible to allow the police a few days to complete the investigation before having the national shaming exercise? Isn’t it good news to learn some Islamophobic mustachioed Chinaman isn’t running around Toronto defacing hijabs on children with scissors?

I guess all of these hate hoaxes are just a dress rehearsal. They'll know what to do once there's an actual hate crime.

Right, the point is to send a mesage to white people, and that message is definitely being sent: the last Muslim stubbed toe comes before your raped or murdered daughter.
I think that Hawaiian missile alert was also emotional manipulation (“I seem to remember Trump’s administration as an unhappy and stressful time”) hiding behind the same device of government stupidity. Everyone accepts government stupidity, nobody asks why if it’s stupidity the errors never go the other way, and there is no follow-up later when the stupid person nominally responsible is promoted instead of fired. Witness the head of the Air Force Academy: the point isn’t to find out the truth, the point is to yell at white people.

  48. I suspect she lives an a 100% Asian neighborhood.

‘Asian’ here is decidedly East Asian.

Turns out the streets border the Agincourt neighborhood of the city.

The country’s three most dominantly Chinese census areas are all located in Toronto, according to new data from Statistics Canada — a trio of neighbouring “tracts” in Scarborough where 87 per cent of residents circled “Chinese” on their long-form questionnaires.

…After South Asians, Chinese people make up Toronto’s largest non-white group…Many have concentrated in places like Agincourt, sometimes referred to by locals as “Asiancourt.”

…the three most dominantly Chinese pockets in Toronto — and indeed, all of Canada — are found around the corner from Pacific Mall, one of North America’s largest Asian shopping centres.

…The three census tracts are located side by side. On a map they form a “T” shape that looks a bit like an oddly shaped shirt hanging off the laundry line that is Steeles Ave. E. The hem of the left cuff is Brimley Rd.; the right cuff’s hem is Birchmount Rd.

…This chunk of land is home to 10,855 residents, 9,445 of them Chinese.

…many newcomers are now blue-collar immigrants from mainland China…

    And so on.

    https://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2017/10/25/census-shows-big-changes-in-scarboroughs-little-china.html

Some more ‘diverse trivia’ from the area:

Pacific Mall one of the world’s most notorious sources of counterfeit goods, U.S. government report says”

The U.S. government says sales of counterfeit goods at Pacific Mall are “sprawling and pervasive” and that vendors “operate largely with impunity (as) requests for assistance from local law enforcement have reportedly gone unanswered.”

The new report says some of the counterfeit items available at the mall, including cosmetics, sunglasses and perfumes, can pose a risk to public health and safety.

Pacific Mall is the only Canadian market included on the list, though the report notes that one of the fastest-growing advertising networks that cater to online sellers of counterfeit goods is based in Canada.

Representatives of Pacific Mall were not immediately available for comment.

Blue-collar Chinese don’t like the hijabis, and vice-versa. Probably some general background bad blood, which the girl picked up on in the family home.

As for the incident – ‘girl ditched the uncool hijab once out of sight of the parents. Girl was spotted hijab-less. Girl panicked. Girl concocted cover story’. (?)

Given the neighborhood, ‘Asian’ made the story seem safer.

Wherever did she get the general idea, I wonder.

Since when are hate hoaxes directed against Asians

I'd guess the family had a beef with an Asian.

I wrote this a few months ago about another of these hoaxes:

  53. Not for a long time, and anyway it wasn’t ‘right-wing’, it was ordinary workers who didn’t want their taxes wasted. But maybe that qualifies as right wing these days.
Scarborough is now something much different. In the Toronto ‘news’, they were shamed into not calling it Scarborough but calling it the East End because of the numerous crime reports. That faded a bit, and they occasionally revert to referring to it as Scarborough.

When her stern parents caught her hoodless, the girl blamed it on a made-up hateful villain rather than admit she isn’t attracted to her mother’s style. It should be taken exactly like an accusation of rape from a North Korean girl impugning an American servicemember.

Merkel was and is following instructions, ably and calmly.

  61. Wearing a hijab, she said, is a sacred part of the Muslim religion.

    Hahahaha… oh wow.

Fun fact: Nothing in the Qur’an mandates wearing a hijab. If I recall correctly, all that’s said is that women—and men too—must dress modestly. All Abrahamic religions have this in common. Hijabs are merely an Arab cultural artifact that’s gotten entangled with Islam.

Do you think it’s mere coincidence that nuns wearing their habits look oddly similar to Muslim women wearing a hijab?

  62. Lulz. My favorite was the one a year or two ago where the girl lied about Hijab Hate to obscure her meet up with a boyfriend, so her dad gave her a buzz cut.

  63. @Alec Leamas
I'm just spitballing but I'm going to guess that the whole non-event was captured on several cameras between Degrassi and this poor Muslim girl's home. The Police collected all of the video on the day in question and it either revealed no attack or revealed that the head rag was ripped by the girl or her brother etc. The Police statement is too definitive in concluding that her report of the (non-) incident was false for it to have been anything other than conclusive proof of its falsity. (FWIW, I think this is why there are so many hoaxes that get found out - these people are literally too stupid to know that everything is on camera now).

Which leads me to the next point - judging by the sheer number of these things that turn up to be hoaxes, wouldn't it be more responsible to allow the police a few days to complete the investigation before having the national shaming exercise? Isn't it good news to learn some Islamophobic mustachioed Chinaman isn't running around Toronto defacing hijabs on children with scissors?

The girl could have taken her goofy hijab off on her way home and some nasty muslim girls threatened to tell her folks.

If so, what better way to defend herself from charges of being a wanton whore than manufacture some tears, race home to mommy and blame the local hindoos for tearing off her hood thingie?

And if it was the girl manufacturing some story to get off the hook for (in muslims’ eyes) acting like a whore, I do hope the police keep an eye on her.

The physiological burden of public presentation is sharply reduced for the wearer at the cost of greater uncertainty and reduced trust for everyone else.

What an example she is to her lying daughter (even if the mother is not herself the instigator) in dissembling from inside her body bag shelter.

(The veil was designed in ancient times to screen off precious females from predatory rival males and so protect the genetic lineage of tribal cultures. It was certainly not expected that such women would, thus attired, attempt to lead full, exposed, public lives. It has no place in the modern world.)
  65. Wouldn’t it be a great story to find out what really happened? You just know that our Marxist mainstream media won’t bother and just want to see this story buried ASAP. The tamer Rebel Media Post-Charlottesville may not want to touch it either. The Toronto Sun may give it a half-hearted try but seeing as young children are involved, it may cop out.

Faith Goldy. Where are you? This one has your name written all over it.

Hell, maybe even I’ll give it a go.

I wonder what the Asian community thinks. “Asian” in Canada means East Asian. There are huge numbers of Asians and Muslims in Scarborough and they aren’t exactly bosom buddies. They quietly compete with each other for jobs, housing, government perks, university admissions, etc. There are scores of elderly Asian women in Toronto living in subsidized housing while their sons live in mansions. Tons of Muslims are on the dole here as well but they don’t quite game the system as sophisticatedly as the chinks do.

Scarborough has Chinese and “South Asian” populations in near parity (19 and 22 percent respectively) among a population that is two-thirds visible minorities per Wikipedia. The six-yo co-hoaxer does register as a subcontinental phenotype to me (Hindu emigres don’t tend to ghettoize so I’d wager the south Asians are mostly or entirely muslim Pakistanis Bangladeshis &c). Canada is a net importer of kkkrazy glue and will have a much harder time keeping them away from one another’s throats than we have.

  70. It might be helpful if our President weighs in the next time there is an egregious hate crime hoax. Obama did with Michael Brown, except he supported the wrong side. This is the mantra of the Left and the alternative universes they live in:

Things aren’t true because they are true … but because they could have been true. Indeed, it’s because they should have been true.

So, let’s double down on supporting the causes of women’s liberation, global warming, the globalized economy, open borders, massive migration, multiculturalism, gender neutrality, LGBTxyz, etc. We can’t afford to leave reality to the realists, scientists, and other people obsessed with what is versus what ought to be.

Let’s harden our purpose! Let’s make our dreams come true! Those who oppose us lack imagination, forethought, meaning, and purpose. They stand in the way of the New Man, the New Woman, the New Science, and the New Society in the Brave New World we are creating.

Trudeau only serves as a reminder that Canada is as royally screwed up as the US.

  87. @Buffalo Joe
Canadian, I feel for you. On my return from a northern Ontario fishing trip I spend an hour or so at the Thunder Bay airport waiting for my flight to Toronto. The local paper had three anti-Trump pieces and a guest anti Trump op ed by Garrison Keilor, remember him. Liberalism is poisoning your country my friend. It's not who you are.

The local paper had three anti-Trump pieces and a guest anti Trump op ed by Garrison Keilor, remember him.

Who doesn’t remember Garrison the Groper?

The problem is that the police don't fall for it but government bureaucrats and people with college degrees do.

The problem is that the police don’t fall for it but government bureaucrats and people with college degrees do.

It is, what you call it, ze kayfabe. Pre-genocide kayfabe.

  89. @sb
These tales of "Islamophobia " are becoming commonplace and often don't survive the first level of scrutiny
You really have to be a very gullible person to accept such stories until some verification has occurred
How sad for Canada that they have a Prime Minister who is such a gullible "useful fool "

Everywhere it’s schlamaphobia and shlomophobia .

  90. @Km
The girl likely took off her hijab because she doesn’t want to wear it at school. When her stern parents caught her hoodless, the girl blamed it on a made-up hateful villain rather than admit she isn’t attracted to her mother’s style. The parents then went to the police before the girl could admit her fib and the media blew it up. The girl no doubt would rather less outrage from white liberals and more spine.

Sounds probable. I wish the Police had stated how they concluded this was a hoax.

  91. I think future historians will recognize hate crime fanfiction as part of the literary tradition of the Late West.

  92. @Anonymous

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer called the attack “despicable,” telling reporters in Mississauga, Ont., that it “has no place in Canadian society.”

“I certainly hope that the Toronto Police Services are able to track down the person who committed this violent act and my thoughts and prayers are with the family,” Scheer said.

With conservatives like these, who needs liberals? Note the rather feminine and British condemnation of the fake attack as “disgusting” and “despicable”. Andrew Scheer oozes femininity out of every pore.

  93. @Twodees Partain
It becomes a problem when she identifies as a Canadian by proclaiming, "This is not who we are".

Hey, Mom, where do you get this "we" shit?

She actually said “this is not Canada”. Ontario’s far left lesbian Premier and Canada’s PM Trudeau also stated variations of “this is not who we are”, the latest popular leftist talking point used whenever there’s any sort of pushback against mass immigration.

Thanks to multiculturalism and mass immigration, no one can define what Canadian or even American values really are anymore, liberals just know what those values are not (pushing back against mass immigration).

  94. What’s overlooked here is large neighbourhoods of Chinese blue-collar immigrants.
    How did they get in?

  95. @Anonymous
If this had happened at Yale or another U.S. university campus, there would have been an immediate manifesto released with DEMANDS, which the administration would have, after the hoax was revealed, acceded to.

So activists are beginning to understand that there is no downside to creating hoaxes, even if they are quickly disproved. There needs to be a downside.

By the way, why are campus rape hoaxers never defendants in lawsuits? Why only the universities and the press?

    Universities have money, hoaxers don’t

  96. A few years ago (actually a year or two before 9/11) I worked next to a young woman who grew up in a Pakistaní family in Toronto. She was dismayed, let’s say, by how socially backward the Pakistaní community in the UK was compared with “back home.” She was a Muslim of course but even the retrograde family she’d married into had no problem with her coming to work dressed normally.
Much of the hijab and other dress kit is mere attention seeking, like the Hasidics.

  97. “The hijab story wasn’t true – but our compassion must not waver”

It’s it nice that your compassion for her is front and center BUT accusations like this could and would ruin a mans life especially if that man happens to be white. This is serious stuff and can ruin careers and lives so I think a false accusation should be taken far more seriously due to the implication.

NOW……I realize some of you liberals that are so full of hate you get off on seeing white men suffer and want white genocide as a Christmas present but is that really the answer? Remember, revenge is a sin and solves nothing what so ever.

  98. @J.Ross
It should be taken exactly like an accusation of rape from a North Korean girl impugning an American servicemember.

Lets not forget the little dead boy on the beach that the Media used every chance it got. And this boy died so daddy could get new teeth.

It’s weird how the media will not show a cartoon of a prophet in an awkward position but will show a dead child face down in the sand.

  99. @Harry Baldwin
From time-to-time during his presidency Obama would also use this expression

Someone put together a montage of 46 occasions.
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gouAcayDwLM

How would he really know? He spent much of his formative years living in Indonesia.

  100. @Canadian Observer
Trudeau is a moron, but it doesn’t matter. He was virtue-signalling for his base. So was Ontario’s Premier Kathleen Wynne and our esteemed mayor John Tory.

If you’re an elitist Good White, you don’t have to worry about being right.

Wynne and Trudeau, elected by the Canadian voters, eh? Gordie Howe is rolling in his grave…

  101. Mom has lived in Canada for a quarter of a century but covers her face in public.

So does everyone else, for four or five months every year. It’s Canada!

Isn't it good news to learn some Islamophobic mustachioed Chinaman isn't running around Toronto defacing hijabs on children with scissors?

    the national shaming exercise

    It’s a cathartic trans-national self-shaming exercise and it’s all good!

Like five minutes of navel-gazing mandatory self-hate imposed by televisor power-bass voice talking head, only it never stops.

  103. What’s the sound I hear in the distance?

    Oh that’s right, frontlashing.

  104. This hoax that got the PM and his sick cabinet and so many police on stage to suggest that white men were harassing little muslim girls on the way to school is just an attempt to further make Canadians afraid to speak out abut the Islamic infestation of Canada. All a big lie but the PM acted as if the event happened and he was protecting Canadian values and tolerance towards and unwanted and undesirable cult. No one attacked this girl but the government and police acted as if Canadians were intolerant nd committed a crime. The only crime here was illegal reporting of a false crime and treason by the government and police!
