TIMSS Test Scores: Would Germany Get More Talented Workers from Syria or Hungary?

As we all know by now, Germany has pulled off a massive economic coup by importing a brilliant new workforce from Syria (and also from random places where you can buy fake Syrian IDs, but who’s checking?). Soon you’ll be buying flying BMWs designed by genius Merkel Youth. The newcomers are going to work until they drop in 60 years and will gladly pay every rightful Euro in income tax to the German government to support Teutonic oldsters.

In contrast, Hungary is condemned to backwardness.

But what do we see if we look at the 2007 TIMSS test of 8th graders in mathematics. An awful lot of the tired, the poor, the huddled masses showing up in Germany look like they were 8th graders about 8 years ago.

Back in 2007, Hungarian 8th graders scored the highest in Europe, with 10% reaching the Advanced, 36% the High, 61% the Intermediate, and 91% at least achieving the low benchmark.

In contrast, among Syrian 8th graders in peaceful 2007, 0% scored Advanced, 3% High, 17% intermediate, and 47% low.

So, in the top two levels of math skill, Hungarians outnumber Syrians 12 to 1.

At the bottom, only 9% of Hungarians fail to achieve the minimum Low benchmark vs. 53% of Syrians.

Results were fairly similar in 2011.

  2. Why is Israel so low on this list compared to some other countries?

I have read about differences between Ashkenazim and Sephardic IQ, with Sephardics being at the white average like… most whites.

(But weren’t British Jews Sephardic as well? And they were high achievers weren’t they?)

Then you have the Russians who finagled a way to get there, but I’d think they would be at white average or higher on math tests.

So why are they lower than the US for example?

  5. Judging from the photos I’m seeing out of Hungary the “cultured, middle class” Syrians don’t even know how to use toilets. I guess it doesn’t matter as long as they know how to clean them, because that’s what they are more likely to be doing in Germany than designing flying BMWs.

  6. http://www.euractiv.com/sections/social-europe-jobs/merkel-responds-orbans-criticisms-317351

German Chancellor Angela Merkel responded to Orbán’s comments regarding Germany’s conduct in dealing with refugees. “Germany is doing what is morally and legally necessary – no more, no less,” said Merkel on Thursday, in Switzerland

They are doing it for reasons almost completely unconnected to technocratic rationality, and it is other countries’ pundits who are asserting otherwise. The US and Britain are diagnosing the Germans as having ulterior motives. Each country has favoured explanations . Complain of feeling unwell in the US and a doctor is highly likely to tell you have a virus while in Britain patient are supposed to be depressed. In Germany your blood pressure is low, this is obviously something that got started for a reason, but is now silly.

It is like their abandoning nuclear power stations; ordinary Germans, led by educated young women, deeply feel that any seeking of national advantage is greasing the skids to war and mass slaughter. So they are to be a post national nation, which their politician openly espouse. My aunt was married and to army officer stationed in Germany for decades and got to know the locals (her maid’s house shocked her it was like a palace) and the women there said they had danced for joy when the war ended. You can’t ignore the impact of that collective trauma.

http://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2014/08/08/west-wrong-path-gabor-steingart-publisher-handelsblatt/ A German of Hungarian origin is required to explain things

“If the West had judged the then US government which marched into Iraq without a resolution by the UN and without proof of the existence of weapons of mass destruction by the same standards as Putin today, then George W. Bush would have immediately been banned from entering the EU. The foreign investments of Warren Buffett should have been frozen, the export of vehicles of the brands GM, Ford, and Chrysler banned.

“The American tendency to verbal and then to military escalation, the isolation, demonization, and attacking of enemies, has not proven effective. The last successful major military action the US conducted was the Normandy landing. Everything else – Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan – was a clear failure. Moving NATO units towards the Polish border [with Russia] and thinking about arming Ukraine are continuations of Washington’s policy of relying on military means in the absence of diplomacy.

What’s that got to do with Syria? The Syrian refugee crisis has coincided with a cession of hostilities in Ukraine. There is the prospect of a deal being reported Putin has suddenly a lot of stock to trade, because is he the only one backing Assad and the only one who can impose a settlement on him. If Putin chooses he can exert a massive amount of pressure on western Europe by letting the war in Syria go on and a flood of refugees too, this is his asymmetric response style (the banning of US adoptions of Russians by Putin was in response to Congressional actions over the Mignitsky thing http://www.politico.com/magazine/story/2015/02/sergei-magnitsky-murder-114878).

Getting back to the usefulness of Syria immigrants, I think the problem is it is assumed that every county has an unlimited proportion of people capable of doing any jobs and that immigrants, being aspirational, are going to outdo the native workers, like Ashkenazi Jews did when they immigrated . The genetic basis for attainment simply isn’t being taken into account.

Paul Collier doesn’t accept HBD but he predicts poor countries will empty of all their capable people at an accelerating rate as those states descend into ever increasing dysfunction from lack of people who are qualified or capable of becoming qualified.

TRADE is another indicator. On the CIA’s figures, the United Kingdom last year incurred a current account deficit – the widest and most meaningful measure of its trade – of $162bn. By comparison Japan enjoyed a current account surplus of $45bn. Japan’s performance was all the more remarkable for the fact that because of ageing demographics its workforce has been reduced by nearly 10% since the late 1980s. By comparison the United Kingdom’s workforce has steadily increased. (Japan’s ageing demographics, incidentally, are not the result of some terrible national death wish. They were set in stone in the late 1940s under the so-called Eugenic Protection Law, whose objective was to reduce the Japanese birth rate from one of the developed world’s highest to one of its lowest.

  9. Just spouting off— I’ve read several comments here, more or less asserting a nefarious hidden hand obliging this horde from “Syria” to swarm “Christendom,” and well does anyone have a detailed account of why so many at once? Spontaneous order and all I know, but I saw 6 thousand bucks was the going rate to board a smuggler’s boat. These are people fleeing a country with 200 percent inflation, 50 percent unemployment, and 70 percent of the workforce making no more than 1,000 dollars a year. If these are the 250,000 Syrians who have 6,000 dollars to spend, maybe they are the cream of Syria’s crop. Or maybe Saudi Arabia, who wants to foot the bill to turn Germany into a wilderness of mosques, also didn’t mind shelling out under the table the ~1.5 billion dollars it cost to get rid of these wretched people as a local problem forever.

And if that’s about right, western spooks would surely know about the under the table arrangement. And then consider, even accounting for the cant of liberal guilt coming out of the Merkel, who is apparently craving 800,000 of these beasts by the end, can anyone actually be that irrational? How does she know that, say, 80 of them are not arriving to blow themselves up as bombs? How does she know? Truly, this could never actually be funny to any half-rational German because after frightening it’s absolutely insane, literally a death wish.

What I’m getting at is—well first recall that September, 2013 was when Kerry tossed out the idea of attacking Syria over Assad’s chemical weapons, only to see Russia and Assad immediately agree that neutralizing the stockpile was a great idea, rendering moot that pretext to attack. Also recall that it was just five months later in February 2014 when ISIS turned up as the worlds worst monster, that being when Al-Qaeda officially renounced them, as though ISIS had stepped up to do the job the USA had just lately been outmaneuvered over.

The more you know the more you know you don’t know. Are the former official people who come out of the shadows and say stuff like, ISIS is the spawn of quasi-CIA American criminals, Saudi Arabia has long since had nukes, the War on Terrorism must go on–bc certain ensconced merchants of death must be fed–Europe must not go Russian so must suffer Muslims and live in fear with America, Israel is Satan’s layer, etc, I mean are those people such crackpots that they’re actually telling the truth? Is all this by design?

And why are these whistle-blowers now saying Obama has sanitized their intelligence reports on ISIS without coming forward and saying it, as whistleblowers traditionally do and will have to do if they actually want their claim to amount to anything? It doesn’t makes sense. It’s like there’s a Deep State, that wants more money for their effort, which is so efficient when you got the guns and butter, and a media that simply relays what someone somewhere in the bureaucracy throws them like a scrap when its convenient.

But I’m spouting off. No way people like Bush and Bush would be way into weird shit like burning people in effigy in a satanic ceremony to kick off some retreat of secret fun way back in the woods where a guy like Tony Blair is literally too afraid to go according to hacked emails. No way. We’re talking about America I mean, fuck yeah.

I’m surprised that the Norwegians score so poorly.

On a related note, I read that no less than 40,000 odd ‘refugees’ are expected to enter Germany this weekend ie Saturday 12th September 2015 and Sunday 13th September 2015, alone.
When Enoch Powell made his famous ‘Rivers of Blood’ speech in Birmingham, England, way way back in 1968, he was moaning about no more than 50,000 so-called ‘Commonwealth citizens’ emigrating to Britain *per year*.

Do Arabs-as opposed to Turks and other groups-actually hire themselves out to others as cheap labor? It seems they work in their own or relative’s shops, businesses and whatever rackets there are and just loiter the rest of the time smoking cigarettes. They appear to be engaged mostly in the middleman sector and prefer not to have non-Arab bosses. Anybody ever see any Arabs on cleanup crews? As has been said many times, cheap labor isn’t cheap; we’re still having problems with our own original cheap labor 150 years after the civil war.

  13. Federal Labour Minister Andrea Nahles predicted effects on the labor market statistics by the large number of incoming refugees. Not even every tenth bring with me the conditions to be conveyed directly into a job or training, said the SPD politician. “Not all who come here are highly qualified. The Syrian doctor is not the norm.”

  14. Steve Sailer commenters , i could do with some help.

I asked the head of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry why he thinks Australia ought to accept 12,000 Syrian refugees but Israel 0. This is his response:

“The size of Israel’s territory is less than one-third, of one percent, of
Australia’s. Within this tiny sliver of land Israel has a population of
12 million people, more than half of Australia’s. (The equivalent
would be if Australia had a population of 4 billion people). Yet since
1948 Israel has accepted and absorbed more than 2.5 million refugees,
several hundred thousand of whom have not been Jewish.

Based on size of territory alone, Israel would be as “generous” as Australia
if it accepted 32 refugees from the current crisis. In fact, a much
higher number of Syrians than that have been admitted into Israel for
free treatment and care at Israeli hospitals during the four-year long
    civil war in Syria”

His last two points are easily shot down, but his first one requires a little research. Obviously it’s incorrect to compare the entire Australian continent to Israel as most of the Australian continent is uninhabitable desert. I will definitely make use of Steve’s hilarious Golan heights article in my response. Any other ideas?

If they are intended to perform skilled work in manufacturing of the kind that Germany is renowned for, no. But they could do service sector jobs, and care for the elderly, while the real Germany build cars. Or maybe not https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Pq-S557XQU

  19. Comparing the 4th and 8th grade results is interesting. For the US two states were also included (MA and MN) but that part of the original graphic was cut off above.

Here are summary results for comparison: percentage meeting Advanced/High/Intermediate/Low benchmarks

    2003 US 4th grade 7/35/72/93
    2003 US 8th grade 7/29/64/90

    2007 US 4th grade 10/40/77/95
    2007 MA 4th grade 22/63/92/99
    2007 MN 4th grade 18/55/85/97
    2007 US 8th grade 6/31/67/92
    2007 MA 8th grade 16/52/82/95
    2007 MN 8th grade 8/41/81/97

    2011US 4th grade 13/47/81/96
(same cohort as 2007 4th graders above?)
    2011 US 8th grade 7/30/68/92
    2011 MA 8th grade 19/57/88/98
    2011 MN 8th grade 13/49/83/97

Any idea why 2007 MN 4th and 8th grades would show such a dramatic difference? There does seem to be a general trend for US performance to be lower in 8th grade, but not by such a large margin. And the 2011 MN 8th graders did much better than in 2007.

P.S. I did not see a link to the report, so here it is: http://timss.bc.edu/timss2007/mathreport.html

  21. I’m surprised that the US did so well. We have wasted billions on education reform to become globally competitive when we already were.

For those who think that we should import more high-functioning immigrants, think again. More and more school districts are enacting policies to hold back high-functiong kids until the slow ones catch up. San Francisco banned tracking. They used to require that all 8th graders take Algebra I, but most failed or did poorly, so now Algebra can only be taken starting in the 9th grade. No exceptions. https://hereandnow.wbur.org/2015/09/09/san-francisco-algebra

The California state exams have dropped, the first since adopting Common Core. The results are the usual racial hierarchy, blacks at the bottom and Asians at the top.

In a country you have taken in such triumphal way you don´t clean toilets. They can become mafia bosses, rappers, jihadists, welfare professionals, they can go clubbing, going to the gym. Since Tel Aviv’s population is 414,000, they could settle 3.5 million Syrian refugees in Tel Aviv alone without exceeding Manhattan densities. Manhattan is a nice place to live.

According to his logic this should be just fine. Ask him why this would be a bad idea. Perhaps density is not the only concern? What could possibly be wrong with this idea, hmmm?

I’ve seen the liberal argument being made that there are half a billion people in Europe, so another million or more don’t matter. The place is already crowded, so adding more people won’t matter, they already know how to live crowded there!

It’s a silly argument, but it does raise the point that it’s not just about geographical size. Aren’t Israelis supposed to be smart? Surely they can figure out a way, in particular if there is a moral imperative. Syria is not much bigger than Israel and most of it is uninhabitable desert. Also, can they continue to let in any Jews, while not letting in any Syrians? That tells you all you need to know. Is it really all about ethny? If that’s good enough for Jews, why shouldn’t that be good enough for others? Jews get a special pass on certain moral issues, or what?

Rather than “feeding the merchants of war” (Apple has a far greater market capitalization than say, Raytheon btw, military stuff makes little money because its boom and bust) America has retreated into itself witness Obama. The Obama Admin pressured higher ups to alter intelligence so Obama could claim victory. Over “the JV team” of ISIS.

ISIS really is the Frankenstein monster of the Gulf states now largely run by Erdogan in Turkey. You’ll notice that Erdogan never attacks ISIS, only the Kurds. Now that the deal between him and the PKK is off. ISIS is generally just the Turkish military out of uniform, really. And the Syria/Europe thing a contest between Russia and Turkey for which empire, the Post-Soviet or the Post-Ottoman, will rule Europe. Surely Putin is not happy with half the ME running Europe in ten years. HE can think two moves ahead unlike Obama.

If you figure 200,000 refugees at $7,000 per head for smuggling, that’s 1.4 billion just to move them to Europe. Let alone feed and clothe them on the way (they don’t look starving for sure).

My guess is that the only country with the means and ability and motive to do that is Turkey. Which at a dash gets a way to help conquer Europe from the inside and gets rid of pricey refugees. Just as the Ottoman Empire was the Sick Man of Europe, so too is Europe the Sick Man of the World, with nations/mini-empires racing to carve it up and conquer it.

This is why letting women lead and control public life and culture is a bad thing, among other things they tend to crowd out native men of higher beta status, outlaw weapons ownership, and other things. It is important for White middle and working class men to own weapons because of the habits of mind it imparts — a willingness to defend one’s own freedom and liberty, to refuse to rely on elites in government, a riposte to elite control over everything else.

Fundamentally, slaves do not own weapons and free men do. It is the habits of mind that are the most critical — excessive feminine influence via the consumerist media market creates abject surrender to any Third World aggression.

[OT: Putin wishes to send thousands of troops to Syria and Kerry is blocking him via poorly reported pressure on Eastern European govts to deny overflight rights. I don't know what Orban is doing, I know he has friendly relations with the Putin regime. If Putin wants to stick his hand in the meat grinder of Syria, let him. That place is nothing but hell now and will for generations.]

    “Any other ideas?”

Syria is a neighbour of Israel. If your politics are right, you can just walk from Syria to Israel. Even with the current troubles, Israel is probably closer to any other realistic destination for the Syrian refugees in Turkey, with the important exception of Greece and perhaps Lebanon. Good neighbours look out for each other. Of course we all know that Israel and Syria are bitter enemies. But these refugees aren’t the Syrian government, they are the good people of the opposition, so these refugees are potential friends of the Israelis. Israel should be a good neighbour and lead by example in demonstrating to the average Syrian the benefits of peaceful open borders.

Since Israel is much closer to Syria than Australia, why subject the refugees to the troubles of travelling half-way around the world? Why not do the easy thing? In particular if the war ends and these people want to go home?

Straight out ask if the real goal of the Israelis is to de-populate Syria and not pay any price. (Or point out that it seems like a reasonable supposition and therefore a policy of accepting Syrian refugees would demonstrate that this is not the case.)

  42. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/correspondents/robertpeston BBC economic editor

If the British economy was driven by manufacturing we could well be in seriously dire economic straits, figures released today show. [...] (UK manufacturing is still more than 5% smaller than it was before the 2008 crash, whereas the service sector is about 10% bigger). [...] So thank goodness that we have a world-class service sector, which is around 80% of our economy and seems to be less sensitive to global economic conditions. But let’s not end on a sour or dismal note. Some may despair that the rebirth of British manufacturing hasn’t been all that might be desired, but the UK’s 5% manufacturing shrinkage since the peak is as nothing compared with the 23%, 16% and 14% contractions suffered by Italy, France and Japan respectively

In 2007 Peston was blamed for the UK recession after breaking the news of a bank’s troubles on his blog, thereby starting a run. He obviously isn’t going to make that mistake again and is making out the Britain that Britain’s service dominated economy (this is the City financial service sector not pizza delivery) gives it the economic inside track over poor old Japan, and Germany. Less than a week ago Peston wrote “The two relevant points (leaving aside moral ones) are that:the UK’s population is rising fast, whereas Germany’s is falling fast; the dependency ratio (the proportion of expensive older people in the population relative to able-bodied, tax-generating workers) is rising much quicker in Germany than in the UK.”. Yeah and what is the result of Britain puffing itself up like a bullfrog, unlike manufacturing -based countries like Germany and Japan, Again: “On the CIA’s figures, the United Kingdom last year incurred a current account deficit – the widest and most meaningful measure of its trade – of $162bn. By comparison Japan enjoyed a current account surplus of $45bn. Japan’s performance was all the more remarkable for the fact that because of ageing demographics its workforce has been reduced by nearly 10% since the late 1980s. By comparison the United Kingdom’s workforce has steadily increased.”. The immigration/population growth is not responsible for the ‘services’ earnings of the city. In fairness he does give the main disadvantage of the current arrangements

But the economy cannot grow at the current rate of 2.5% a year forever based purely on domestic demand – because we are buying more from the rest of the world than we sell to the rest of the world, and are financing our growth by borrowing from the rest of the world at an unsustainably great rate of 5% of GDP or national income.
Or to put it another way, we run the risk that at some point our overseas creditors won’t wish to lend quite so much to us to finance our lifestyles – and at that point, they would want their money back and would dump sterling. At which ill-starred juncture, the price of imports would shoot up and inflation would rise, forcing the Bank of England to raise interest rates more than would be comfortable in our heavily indebted economy.

In other words Britain will be like a football bat.

Yes – how many of those “refugees” weren’t Jews or their spouses? His ‘hundreds of thousands non-Jewish’ is rubbish. He’s probably referring to the spouses of Jews, or to people who were ethnically but not religiously Jewish.

The real point about Jewish immigration policy isn’t that they don’t take in immigrants – they take in plenty – but that they’re allowed to take in only Jews. Ask your man if he would be fine restricting Australian immigration to Anglo-Celts or their spouses. Ask him if he’d be fine with an immigration policy exactly like Israel’s but for that.

  49. Actually, Israel’s population is 8 million, not 12 – although claiming the latter figure, which includes the population of the West Bank, is revealing of the Executive Council of Australian Jewry’s attitude towards Israel’s occupation of that land. This results in a population density of some 400/km^2, which is comparable to European countries like the Netherlands, Belgium and England – all of whom are expected to accept refugees in addition to their legally mandated annual immigration inflow.

Although it’s true that much of Israel’s territory is arid, almost all refugees settle in urban zones. And in any case, expanding settlement into previously uninhabited arid regions should not pose undue problems for a country which prides itself on its ability to “make the desert bloom.” Settling Syrian refugees here would clearly facilitate their straightforward repatriation once hostilities in their homeland cease.

The Executive Council claims that Israel has accepted some 2.5 million refugees over the decades. Clearly such a claim conflates “refugees” with Jews exercising their so-called Right of Return, but even if as many as half of those could reasonably be described as refugees, any humanitarian accounting must balance that total against the number of refugees Israel has created: over one million (750,000 in 1948, 250,000 in 1967, and yet more during its two-decade occupation of southern Lebanon), assuming we do not follow the UN’s example and count as refugees second and third generation descendants of the people originally expelled by Israel, which would swell the total to over four million.

as Pope Francis implored. The result: the family absconded in the middle
of the night for Germany, without so much as saying good-bye. So much
for migrant quotas – if they think they’re too good for Austria or Denmark,
why should they be satisfied with Poland, Hungary or Czech Republic if those countries’ GDP per capita is 30% lower? Poland could accept 12,000

gonna stop them? Germany is next door, and it’s a long border, not easily
secured. Some wag suggested that one way to scare the ‘migrants” away
is to promise the Syrians plenty of jobs upon their arrival in Poland.

  63. Slightly OT, Steve posted that the Gulf Arabs should take these refugees since they obviously have the wealth. He cited Qatar and the quarter of a trillion they are spending to host the 2022 World Cup. Here is another example. Dubai built these fantastically expensive artificial islands in the Persian Gulf that can house hundreds of thousands of people. I am sure many of you have heard of these palm islands. Here is an interesting documentary about how they were constructed. If they can do this, they could house the Syrians.

PS. You will note that the guys who designed and built this thing were Europeans/Americans. If the Syrians have such a surplus of engineering talent, as the MSM claims, why weren’t they involved? Apparently the Gulf Arabs think the engineering talent lies not in the Arab world. Additionally the coolie labor that built the islands looks to have been “Asians” as in the Sub Continent variety. If Arabs are such a valuable workforce, why weren’t they involved in building these islands?

Shouldn’t this be a huge red flag to Germany and other western nations that this influx is not some sort of godsend to boost your economy? If they were so industrious surely their fellow Arabs would have used them to build one of the world’s greatest engineering achievements. But instead they used European brains and Sub Continent muscle.

Though they also kind of do not, when comparative advantage examples are used in the classroom. E.g. the US has absolute advantage over Mexico in everything, but Mexico has comparative advantage in T shirts. Why? Does the use of Spanish make it impossible to design a computer? Does frequent consumption of burritos make it hard to design the A bomb? So Economists recognize that there maybe something at work here but they refuse to delve deeper.

What’s that? Assad has come up with a plan to rid Syria of his opposition? Passports for all to enter Europe? Well, they always did call him pretty wily. About IQ in Syria, from somewhere I recall a great quote attributed to Assad. I’m not sure it’s online and I’m not sure he really said it, but the line goes something like this: “How can they think we are trying to build nuclear weapons? Syrians aren’t that smart.”

His two reasons against it are national security, as there might be some ISIL terrorists who infiltrate themselves among the refugees and we will end up with the Syrian version of the Chechen Tsarnaev Brothers.

The other reason he is against it is because there are millions of Americans who are out of work and looking for employment. We should give them top priority over poor unemployed foreign refugees from Syria. In other words look out for Americans first. The same way the Japanese look out for the Japanese first, the Saudi Arabians look out for the Saudi Arabians first, the Israelis look out for the Israelis first, the Kuwaitis look out for the Kuwaitis first, the Emirates look out for the Emirates first, the South Koreans look out for the South Koreans first, etc.

    N. Ireland does have a ‘religious type school system’. The vast majority of schools in N.I. are either Catholic or State (Protestant). They both perform similarly. There is a small number of ‘integrated’ schools that mainly attract middle to upper middle class Catholics and liberal Protestants. Indeed, NI schools do very well compared to the rest of the UK. The reason for this is probably due to academic selection still occuring there. NI also has a pretty crap economy, so many talented people that would otherwise work in the private sector find a teaching job an excellent career choice.

  88. No…what I am saying is that IQ test scores and PISA scores should be 100 percent irrelevant when it comes to halting and reversing the open and deliberate policy of race-ethnic race-replacement. This should be obvious.

If immigration policy is linked to IQ test scores and PISA scores..then immigration policy becomes fundamentally about importing the right kinds of nonwhite-non-European legal immigrants based upon purely economic criteria….And this is basically an economic case for race-replacement-at the end of the day, the Historic Native Born Population gets race-replaced for purely economic reasons.

You know, if you go back and read what Steve has written about what a race is…well, he has esssentially nailed it…And for those of you enamoured of monads-functors and algebraic-topological closure…well, race is kind of like a monad:a type of self-contained universe interacting with itself(endomorphism) perpetuating itself over time. IQ test score and PISA score obessessions have the great potential to puncture, disrupt, and destroy The Native Born European Racial-National Monads for purely economic reasons. And this purely economic reason is all about denying Historic Native Born European….Historic Native Born White American…and Historic Native Born White Canadian Working Class Populations of the very great benefit of a very severe labor scarcity.

Not to mention bunch of Ethiopian “Jews” (avg IQ maybe 80 on a good day), Yemeni Jews (racially similar to Southern Arabs – w/ African admixture) , etc. And a lot of the Ashkenazi Jews are ultra-Orthodox who barely receive any secular education. So the secular Ashkenazim form a small minority of the school age youth.

  93. Most of the southern portion of Israel is the Negev Desert, which is more or less uninhabitable. The coastal strip where most of the people live is tiny. One reason why Israel has been reluctant to let go of the West Bank is that with out it, from the Mediterranean coast to the border in the area of Tel Aviv is maybe 12 miles or less. Israel has been compared in size with NJ, but NJ is spacious and habitable compared to Israel (although Israel has better winter weather).

  95. yes, Mr Wertheim responded to me by saying that 60% of israel is uninhabitable desert. But if that’s true, then it means Israel is the size of Lebanon but with twice the population of Lebanon. It follows that Israel has the capacity to accept 500,000 Syrian refugees is Lebanon has accepted 1.1 million.

He also told me that Israel, unlike Australia, is an ethnically based state. But Australia was an ethnically bases state up until the 1970s, the decade in which the white Australia policy was officially abolished and in which the cultural Marxist propaganda prompting multiculturalism was set into overdrive.

Japan does have to face the music of nuclear power plants/energy problems (why have they not thought about wave technology???)…but, here’s my brain-fart of the night: the Japanese really DID learn their lesson from WW2? right?! So, why are they not copyrighting the next source of energy to change the world? And, here’s a thought for the Japanese: open the doors for all STEM graduates from wherever…give them visas to come and create in Japan.

I do abhor their (Japanese) intent on over-fishing and whaling and all their disregard for animal life, but I would love to have a Japanese daughter-in-law.

As I learned Hebrew, in Jerusalem, it seamed to me that it is a language so much less expressive than my English, Russian, German, or French. Ivrit (modern Hebrew) is a miracle, a spoken language revived after millennia. Nevertheless all the new math and science words had to be created in Hebrew, all the books and journals needed translating. Small population.

Most Israeli scientists publish in English, but it is not their mother tongue.

The Ashkenazi Jews, speaking those European languages wherein all modernity (science and literature) had developed organically/historically, do well with their IQ ( g factor) related tasks/tests.

Perhaps as decades pass and more science and literature are created in Hebrew, the Jewish high IQ (if such a thing exists) will be expressed in Israel.

Most Americans probably can’t even find Hungary on a map, much less identify what really was all of Hungary before globalists moved the borders.

They had their country decimated by the Treaty of Trianon, and again by WWII, and again by communist domination.

In 1956, when they rose up against communism, against the Soviets, against the leftists that held them down, nobody came to help. They begged the West to come, stood ready to fight with the West, and no one came.

They’ve been kicked around — and kicked around again — and still they’ve maintained a sense of themselves, even while possessing only about a third of what was their rightful land.

They were deliberately cut to pieces so as to weaken them, so they could offer no competition to the powers that be. This was done to them precisely because they are so smart and strong.

Hungary is one of the few countries right now that is acting with any semblance of intelligence, and of course most people don’t understand. It is a land of some intelligence in a world full of idiots.

RC: sometimes jokes about death aren’t so funny especially if you have no personal connection to a particular disaster – I still can’t talk about that Estonian ferry disaster. The only upshot: the universal design of all lifeboats (from now on: numerous, automatically inflated, lighted, tented lifeboats with secondary life vests for multiple people…and cables to tow stranded in) were developed after that PARTICULAR oceanic/nautical disaster. Progress often follows after harrowing death loss of something “everyday” (like ferrying people from point A to B).

Importing more people into the UK under that context – particularly when the imported people do absolutely nothing whatsoever to boost the export trade, but indeed make the imports bill worse, is sheet, utter, complete madness.

  133. After the suppression of the Solidarity movement and declaration
of the martial law by the Communists in the 1980s, the Polish
had nothing better to do so they started making babies. Since
1989 when Poland finally liberated itself from the Soviet oppression,
it’s been growing at 4% a year (i.e., South Korean level of growth)
creating an economy that is now much larger than that of the
Netherlands or Sweden. However, the wages have been kept
artificially low to attract more investment so the big baby boom
generation started looking for work elsewhere, esp. Britain.
Germany, on the other hand, couldn’t get enough of Polish workers
in the last 10-15 years, at all skill levels, incl. IT people.

There is also a severe shortage of doctors and nurses in W. Europe
so many Polish doctors fly into Britain and Germany on weekends
    to supplement their income.

Now the birthrates in Poland are below replacement level so
Poland has already accepted at least 400,000 migrants from
Ukraine, Belarus, and even some from Russia. The lure of
permanent residency in the EU is very strong to the Eastern
    Orthodox Christians.

Maybe Germany should just import a lot of Asians who will outclass even the native whites there.

Of course the white HBD crowd will come up with a brilliant theory why math scores matter only when they show white people being smarter than another group, but mysteriously no longer matter if it shows Asians being better at math.

Ashkenazi Jews make up no more than half of the Israeli Jewish population and less than half of Israel’s total population when Israeli Arabs and Druze are included. “Sephardim” in modern parlance is a big group that includes both the relatively pure descendants of Iberian Jews and Jews from the Middle East and North Africa who follow the Sephardic religious rite. The latter group are also called Mizrahim. The Sephardim who emigrated to the Netherlands and Britain in the 17th and 18th centuries were, like the ancestors of David Ricardo, entirely descended from Iberian Jews rather than Mizrahim. Israeli Sephardim are mostly Mizrahim.
