Three kinds of M to F trans:

1. The Supermen
2. The Effeminates
3. The Spergs

There is some overlap between the Supermen and the Spergs: e.g., the guy I knew in MBA school who is now “America’s highest paid female CEO” was a Superman (with about a 160 IQ), but with a nerdy sci-fi ambition: to get rich off Outer Space (which he did). He later made a second fortune when one of the several children he/she fathered came down with a disease, so he invented a cure for his child, then commercialized the cure. He’s kind of a hero from a science fiction story come to life.

But, also, a lot of these high IQ Supermen M to F’s are giant schmucks. E.g., from the Daily Mail:

Canadian transgender cyclist, 37, defends her Masters Track Worlds title for the second year running

Rachel McKinnon, 37, won the gold medal in her 35-39 age category sprint at the Masters Track World Championships in Manchester on Saturday

McKinnon, an assistant professor of philosophy, beat American Dawn Orwick for this year’s title

So, a guy with a gut can make a joke out of a woman’s sports competition if he decides to call himself a woman.

In 2017 or 2018, I witnessed an anti-Trump street protest by a typical group of malcontents clad in rags (the uniform of the hard Left). It was a mixed-race and mixed-gender group. I don’t remember what the protest was ostensibly about, but I do remember a few Black hotheads among the group, which was on the move, were doing their usual taunting of police, I believe calling them “killers,” to no reaction.

Anyway, one of the group, a rail-thin Black guy, as things were heating up began expounding on who they needed to protect most in the event of a police attack, or an Alt-Right attack, or both in unison.

In the spirit of “It’s Steve Sailer’s world, we just live in it,” this ad-hoc leader of a subsection of the group then on the move (he had the ear of maybe eight or ten of them, excluding passersby), soliloquized on the victimology hierarchy, something close to this: “We got to protect the Black women; and all Trans; but first of all Black Trans.”

Somehow this memory comes to me when I read this blogpost — that rail-thin Black left-winger was talking about the infographic’s Group 2.

It’s possible we’ll see an early 2020s move towards empowering Group 2 (“the majority of non-White and non-WEIRD transgenders”), and away from Group 1 and Group 3.

  23. djdj says:

Steve, may I suggest the possibility that you have a tale-of-two-cities kind of “thing” for white girls that makes you care about them way more than you should?

If you had daughters who had not yet spurned you I would get it, also if you were a member in good standing of some happy white community, like in some small Mormon town in Utah or Arizona and could still regard sticking your neck out for white girls as doing something for ‘your own’. But other than that perhaps you ought to finally get past your late middle age readolescence and come around to recognizing that white women are the problem and that if they want ptotection they should come around and ask us very nicely for it.

And right now they aint asking us very nicely. But you still white knight for them, protecting their bike races and bathrooms from trannies and their soft and sensitive feelings from black beckyists.

Let them enjoy the stew their sitting in until they realize that they can’t handle it on their own and they come around to asking white men to get involved and thanking us for doing so.

I support trannyism whole heartedly. And black beckyists have more of my sympathy than the beckys themselves.

Pretty white girls are born with 10 million dollars worth of credit in the bank. They receive it as their birthright every time they get a smile they don’t deserve, a drink they don’t deserve, a raise they don’t deserve, dating and sexual freedoms they don’t deserve (daddy’s girls owe some of those decisions to their daddies), and freedom to spout their womanly selfishness from platforms they did not build and which they climb on thanks to the unthanked aid of the arms of gentlemen they will mock and the backs of boys they will kick.

Trannyism and the jealousy of black girls are NECESSARY. Why would you shield them from the few teeny tiny wake up call movements that could finally bring them back around to the side of their brothers and fathers and cousins?

That due to the rise of feminism, certain men develop ways to mimic women and blend into society. Thus, they become the apex organism of their original predator.

I think there’s a more rational explanation. It’s sexual mimicry, a strategy so successful it’s exhibited by species as different from humans as cuttlefish https://www.nature.com/articles/news050117-9

So, in human polygamous harems (the norm until historically quite recently), humans the male poses as a female so he can slip one past the goalie. It also might explain why some of these mimics might service an alpha male, so as to make sure he’s spent and can’t reproduce (sneaking one in when he’s in a post fellatio torpor).

Nowadays there’s few harems, but the evolution behind the reproductive strategy is apparently quite strong.

On an only somewhat related note, flowers also do it to trick insects into pollinating them. I only included this example because the music for the video makes it hilarious. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtDxDi4z2PA

Cultures that hate gay men but are OK with men transitioning to being women is one aspect of humanity I will never understand.

Homosexuality is an offence against religion and if you practice it your life in the hereafter will be grim. But if a male homosexual is actually a woman trapped in a man’s body then if he becomes a woman he’s no longer committing that religious offence and he has a chance of salvation (or the equivalent of salvation in non-Christian religions). So accepting the trans thing means society does not have to put up with religiously offensive behaviour and the individual has better prospects in the hereafter.

So it does make some sense. The problem is that you have to accept two very dubious propositions – that homosexuals actually are trapped in the body of the wrong sex, and that this can actually be changed.

And it also requires an acceptance that homosexuality really is morally wrong.

So it’s not surprising that some culturally and religiously conservative societies accept the trans thing as the lesser of two evils. It is however incredibly amusing that western liberals are implicitly accepting the argument that homosexuality is wrong and unnatural and that it should be surgically corrected.

A few weeks back I suggested that homosexuality may have been a evolutionary overshot. That the evolutionary pressures placed on centuries old political bloodlines may have encouraged the creation of a Lady Macbeth in a man’s body. That successful rulers possessed superb social skills for court intrigue of both sexes. I listed Louis the 14th (the Sun King) as an example of having the skillset while remaining straight. But if those polygenic traits became too concentrated, it made them gay. (Like his father and brother.)

Most people of European decent have ancestral roots in nobility. (Thus so many family crests.) Those genes may have passed into the general population. I realize other civilizations and eras had homosexuality, but it constantly has a upper society concentration.

HS level girls sports is fine in moderation to keep girls away from sex, drugs, TV, and junk food. But the number of HS aged tranny boys who want to play girls’ sports is so tiny the effect on your average HS is zero to negligible.

Overall, women in the West are too masculine. Women’s sports contributes to this, and the more elite you get, the worse the effect. But it is only at the elite levels where there are enough trannies to start winning a substantial share of the top spots.

And college women’s sports is also a route for rich dumb girls to buy their way into better colleges because of the Title IX parity rule requires tons of female teams. These girls should instead not masculinize themselves and go to colleges at their intellectual level.

Finally, a bunch of highly visible and ridiculous incidents like this biker ladyman contributes to normie backlash against the woke left, and also TERF/lesbian v Tranny intraleft fighting.

  50. Sean says:

Sperg master builders are not rare so you hit the nail on the head there. I would say the homosexual TS is a return to traditional type of gay who is not interested in others of his ilk. Up until the opening of the first gay bathhouses in the 1920s (when it was not that easy to get a woman to have sex outside marriage) saw gay-gay sex begin to become the norm, identifiable homosexuals looked down on having sex with one another. Their main thing was illicitly servicing apparently straight men, but after WW2 those who had been discharged from the forces for homosexuality were the basis of the first gay communities in San Francisco and Los Angeles.

After fifty years of progress and the advent of gay marriage, statistics on the well-being of gay men are as grim as ever. Rates of suicide, alcoholism, and drug abuse have not budged. Anxiety, depression, loneliness, and poor health are just as widespread. Studies have shown that gay men who live in urban gay communities actually are worse off, not better. […]

It is important to remember that very many “transgirls” have not had sex change operations, even though they may take female hormones.

[G]ay men who tell me they feel sidelined in a space originally designed for them. It’s especially prevalent in Washington, D.C., where a college friend tells me it’s “surreal” to go to a gay friendly space and see people explicitly ruling out gay sex. “To read ‘no homos’ or ‘no men’ on a gay male app is troubling,” he says. — is openly homophobic. This is one consequence of the trans revolution: Gay male spaces and lesbian female spaces are being erased.”

The trans revolution is not about surgery, it is a restoration of the old traditions of homosexualty, whereby the least masculine men were fain used as substitutes for women.

Bruce Jenner was a pre-tranny many years before he transitioned, maybe from his twenties. We know from Blanchard that autogyns do not “feel trapped in a male body” from birth. Blanchard’s institute was Canada’s gatekeeper institution for national health insurance payments for sex changes, and they used the Harry Benjamin protocol of one-year living as the target sex while being counseled. After several months of talking to a psychologist most of these guys ‘fessed up their real story to Blanchard’3 staff, which was basically that they were transvestites who have a self-directed sexual paraphilia about themselves as women. They binge and purge on this, throwing away and then acquiring women’s clothes. Finally, some of them come out as trans. They commonly have some sort of hypermasculine orientation before transition, like being a car mechanic.

Jesus Christ, if I didn’t know better, I’d think this was a parody.

  62. ChrisZ says:

At first I thought the info-graphic of the three trans flavors was something created by Steve or a kindred blogger. But it’s endorsed by the Great and the Good (TM), so it’s not intended to transgressive, or dismissive, but sympathetic.

Is that a new development? I thought that in the larger culture, at least (I.e. not in this forum), trans is trans—and you’re not supposed to look for reasons or causes, because that would amount to questioning, and therefore casting doubt on, the “reality.”

I ask this because you could create a similar taxonomy for homosexuality itself, noting that some who engage in homosexual acts seem to do so by nature, others out of a willful desire to be transgressive, still others out of “necessity” (the junkie earning money for a fix) or limited opportunity in the hetero field (an unattractive woman who “turns” lesbian).

In conversation I’ve floated the idea that it’s not a unified phenomenon; that we should consider same-sex activity as a variety of “homosexualitIES,” each with a different motivation or basis. But the response has always been that anything less than a “whole cloth” approach is a form of bigotry: a way of winnowing and isolating the homosexual population.

From the Left’s perspective, it’s been a good political strategy to promote (and enforce) the “big tent” understanding of homosexuality, even despite the obvious divisions and animosities that exist between, say, male and female gays.

So what does it mean when our cultural gatekeepers start “noticing”—and commanding US to notice—that there are different kinds of “trans” people?

Is it a signal that one of the sub-species is going to be read out of trans-hood? Or is it a triumphant expression of confidence, that they can dispense with their former political strategies and speak plainly? Or is it evidence of infighting within the coalition of fringes?

  65. It’s all a social construct, but the social construct is what really interests them. Not once has anyone ever heard of a tranny who really, really wants to menstruate. They want to wear sparkly dresses and heavy makeup and size 12 heels.

As for the f to m trans persons, pretty sure they just like wearing neckties. Whereas most actual men hate wearing ties.

Overall, women in the West are too masculine. Women’s sports contributes to this, and the more elite you get, the worse the effect.

JMO, but I think it’s actually the other way around, i.e., some women are born with a tendency to be more masculine, so they are attracted to sports as a way of acting it out. If they are prevented from doing sports, they will find another way to be masculine. It will come out of their system one way or another.

Generally speaking, a feminine woman won’t be good at sports in the first place.

  67. @Kronos

That due to the rise of feminism, certain men develop ways to mimic women and blend into society. Thus, they become the apex organism of their original predator.

Insofar as public life occurs in the progressive stack where trans > woman, you have a point. A straight white man who “transitions” goes from the bottom to a place near the top by becoming a tranny lesbian.

Outside of the dimensions of public life which are not policed by the press/administrative state etc. I think a tranny is perceived as a sad character, one whose delusions may be respected only out of pity.

A tranny therefore probably has a lot juice in, say, the NYT newsroom and can boss people around and be feared in office politics knife fights for his skills at detecting “transphobia” among even woke white women, but at a bar in Staten Island the same tranny would have negative social power.

That’s why they go to cons dressed as characters from anime and video games. That’s why those weird guys in high school lose sight of reality and conclude that they really are wizards or werewolves or McGyver. And at the top of the totem pole there’s the autogynephiles.

Possession in a sexual sense, possession in a personal, psychical sense and possession in a “9/10s of the law” sense are difficult to keep apart when you’re not good with linking words to reality.

It’s only a rational strategy at the extreme left end of the attractiveness distribution (probably not a bell curve). But I’ve been in the left tail for a while, so I kind of get it.

With the LGBTQ influx into nerd culture (historically a haven for misfits), a lot of lower-tier guys may figure their best chance to fit in is to transition or, if not willing to go through surgery, to be ‘genderqueer’. If you’ve failed as a guy, being genderqueer and finding a similarly confused woman may be your strategy at finding a mate.

(As a side note, I suspect the exclusion of the evil ‘cishetwhitemen’ from nerd culture is probably a factor driving the formation of the alt-right…but I’d love to hear from someone more tied into it.)

Scott Alexander, who I have a lot of respect for in other contexts, dated a woman who didn’t consider herself one for a while.

It’s a little weird, but given the ridiculous things men have told women to get laid before, well, it doesn’t seem that nuts I guess.

My main criticism is that it was weighted towards the findings of such as experimental psychologists whereas hard-core GENETIC research was virtually ignored (possibly because at that time it wasn’t as advanced as it is now). Thus, I was never quite convinced of the validity of their findings. Nevertheless, it’s a good book whose author was pilloried for what he and his by-then-deceased coauthor, Dr. Herrenstein, wrote about race and IQ which consisted of (if memory serves) no more than two chapters of a multi-chapter, two-inch thick hardcover book.

To be young, female, at least halfways good looking ,and maybe white or near-white produces benefits that they don’t understand or appreciate at all. People (not just men, either) are nicer to you, make excuses for you & are generally more interested in you than if you are male or an oldish woman. (The exception: things flip over when women get really old, where they can once again get away with stuff.)

Just be patient; those selfish, self-absorbed little cows will get what they deserve when everything collapses and they go running to men – white men – for help and you will ignore them, but first you have to tell them why you don’t want to be a Knight in Shining Armor any more.

“Gay” didn’t used to be a thing. ESPECIALLY not in the lower classes. No one got to do their thing. You had to function as a member of your tribe and family and community or else you wouldn’t survive. So that mostly meant getting married, having kids, etc. even if you were not super attracted to women.

It might have crossed your mind that you were attracted to men but there were few if any opportunities to act out on this and most people would have put it out of their mind the same way as if they were attracted to children or goats today – maybe you’d fantasize about this but you sure weren’t going to act out on this fantasy and risk end up in jail or dead. You could also fantasize about living in a castle or eating meat on a regular basis but that wasn’t going to happen either.

Royalty OTOH had more freedom to pursue their inclinations. There was a long tradition, prior to modern times of “rough trade” – richer men with gay desires would pay for sex with lower class young men who needed the cash. These were usually not themselves gay but willing to do anything for a buck. Often these men were “on the down low” – they had wives and children and coupling with sailors was an extracurricular activity.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kellie_Maloney

Kellie Maloney (born Francis “Frank” Maloney, 1953) is a British boxing manager and promoter who managed Lennox Lewis to the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world.

In August 2014, Maloney announced that she wished to be known as “Kellie” and that she was undertaking gender reassignment.

Maloney was born in Peckham, London, to Irish parents, and began boxing at school. After attempts to become a Catholic priest, jockey and professional footballer, Maloney became a chef but continued to box and began training other boxers and organising amateur contests. By the late 1970s this had led to a career as a professional trainer, working with promoter Frank Warren.

After splitting with Warren in the 1980s, Maloney moved into management and began promoting professional fights, becoming Lennox Lewis’s manager in 1989. While known as the promoter who took Lewis to the top, Maloney has also guided four other fighters to World Titles and has managed a string of British, European and Commonwealth Champions.

Maloney was married for over 15 years to second wife Tracey; they have two daughters.

Exactly. The whole idea of people having a “sexuality” comes from decadence, which itself is a by-product of a wealthy (or living in a debt bubble) society. For the vast majority of human history, all but the very upper classes were too preoccupied with day-to-day survival to spend time thinking about, much less acting on, their various sexual turn-ons.

Common people having time for leisure activities – and sex for recreation vs reproduction is a leisure activity – is a very recent development in the span of human existence.

My background is in Chemistry. I know that cis and trans are terms used for carbon- carbon double bonds. Fats with cis double bonds are found in nature, and can be digested by our bodies. Fats with trans double bonds, trans fats, are unnatural fats created for example in the production of margarine (which used to be illegal in Wisconsin but is now mostly legal).

Since I used to teach students that cis fats were natural and to avoid the unnatural trans fats, I find it disturbing to have The Woke insist humans be labeled cis and trans.

I have strong doubts that a lot of guys are going to actually take the plunge and transition. It doesn’t matter how sexually unsuccessful you are, these guys are still… well, male. With typically male interests (that’s part of the problem in meeting women), mannerisms, and psychology. Becoming a woman is not what they want. And why would they want that?

Women are not going to sleep with transgender people unless they are lesbians, who tend to prefer natural women for the same reasons that homosexual men prefer natural men.

    >(As a side note, I suspect the exclusion of the evil ‘cishetwhitemen’ from nerd culture is probably a factor driving the formation of the alt-right…but I’d love to hear from someone more tied into it.)

Can confirm that you’ll find a surprising amount of “down-low” alt-lite or alt-right types in Silicon Valley and Seattle, and the number is growing. This is probably going to have a massive impact on right-wing politics long-term. Note the secularism, for example: most of these guys are atheists or agnostics, and it shows. Ross Douthat’s commentary shows that TradCons are beginning to wake up to the fact that secularism has reached the right-wing in the United States, like it did in Europe.

(Most of these guys are not white nationalists or separatists or neo-Nazis or anything like that-remember, we’re talking well educated STEM dudes here, many of whom work with non-white geeks daily and are friends with some of them. But as the culture of the left gets increasingly ridiculous and the official GOP shows no signs of leaving the mental universe of the 1980s and 1990s, that sort of leaves only one route left. That, or become apolitical, as many also do.)

Interestingly, lefties are proving to be a little less quick on the uptake here, perhaps because they are so fixated on Trump and McConnell (both of them over 70) that they are confusing them with the future. We’re still seeing articles addressing how to neuter right-wing ideas among “angry, young white men” that seriously suggest sending reliable clergy to go preach anti-racism.

Tomi Lahren’s “success” is mostly negative anyway- she gets attention mainly because she’s a “love to hate” evil cheerleader figure for liberals to rally against more than anything else. There is something in the human psyche that likes to punish attractive women when they step out of line.

Side note: 105ish means they are slightly smarter than average- so no different than a lot of media personalities. Are Don Lemon and Sean Hannity any smarter than that? Nah. 105-115 isn’t dumb, that’s just a typical state school college grad. My younger siblings have IQs around that range and I don’t think they are idiots. One of them makes more money than me.

As for cis and trans ringed molecules, I have been aware of them for a long time. I spent a number of years doing research on ringed molecules, and a few years ago I was part of a team that worked out the stereochemistry rules for a drug discovery company. Essentially we had to have rules for every conceivable type of isomer. That can be a vastly more complicated task than one might imagine. I have a deeper understanding of stereochemistry than do some chemists, but the guy who led the project was way ahead of me. I was fortunately able to bring up several rather tricky issues, especially dealing with molecules with several different types of stereochemistry.

Still, using cis and trans for sexuality or gender identity or whatever bothers me. While the trans prefix is used in a variety of circumstances, such as the Trans-Siberian Railway, the cis prefix is rarely used except for a few very isolated scientific and medical situations. Yes, it makes sense from a strictly Latin prefix POV.

I used to teach a few lectures every year as part of chemistry and other science classes that dealt with fatty acids, and some that dealt with nutrition. I think all the lectures telling people cis = good and trans = bad made it difficult for me to deal with using the same terms with people.

It’s an amusing theory, but court intrigues of this sort were selected for too narrowly to make much of a difference, especially court intrigues involving women. How many kings were really brought down by women’s intrigues that they could have avoided if only they were more effeminate? I can much more easily think of kings whose problem seemed to be insufficient interest in having sex with their wives.

Much more important than womanly intrigues among leaders in nearly all times and places was success on the battlefield. And men do appear to be prone to an intellectual obsession with military strategy and tactics, even though one would think very few men historically were actually involved in tactical decision-making. But we are disproportionately descended from men who won wars, and in particular the leaders and heroes of those wars (who enjoyed a larger share of the spoils). The losers, meanwhile, had a tendency to have their males lines snuffed out entirely.

One other thought on your theory: Edward II, credibly rumored to be engaged in sodomy, was overthrown and murdered by the machinations of his wife. His father and son both married well though (Edward III especially), fathered many children, enjoyed domestic peace, prevailed over their foes in war, and expanded their territories.

If the male relatives of gay men are better at getting into women’s heads, it may be beneficial in the more straightforward pathway that it causes them to have better relationships with their wives.
