The media promoted black NFL quarterbacks so strongly in the 20th Century that their ho-hum performance in the 21st Century has led to the assumption that Tom Brady, Drew Brees, and even Philip Rivers will live forever (especially in the mind of Brady). But this year black and half-black quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes are playing exceptionally well.

  2. Honestly, Wilson and Mahomes don’t play like stereotypically black quarterbacks. And I wouldn’t have known Mahomes was half black until I was told.

  3. Lamar Jackson is a video game character.

  4. And Christian McCaffrey is the first RB to reach 1000 rushing yards and 500 receiving yard in a 10 game span. He’s white, for those who don’t follow the game.

I don’t suppose this outlier, or the BQB is going to unprove what has been observed for the last 35 years, but it won’t stop some people from shouting SEE?? I TOLD YOU!

The one drop rule seems to be rigidly applied in America in regards to “who is non-white”, I think quite a lot of native British people would be classified as non-white in America under their definition of it.

Even if NFL teams would still prefer tall, slow, strong-armed white guys who stay in the pocket, very few colleges produce that kind of quarterback any more. You can’t draft the next Tom Brady if all the colleges are now running spread offenses with mobile black quarterbacks.

I haven’t seen a single game this year because Roger Goodall pissed me off. But I think Rush Limbaugh was right 20 years ago when complained about black quarterbacks. They’re still mostly scramblers and not passers. I hated playing football, but I knew that to win games consistently you have to throw the ball down the field.

I thought you were going to write something about Kaepernick. His recent antics show that he is not really serious about a comeback. Mahomes looks less than half black. The only true black QB’s on that list are Lamar Jackson and Deshuan Watson. The campaign to replace white QB’s with black ones has been 25 years in the making and only know is it starting to bear fruit.

But in general black QB’s still struggle in the playoffs and get bested by white QBs.

I wonder how blacks would like it if there was a campaign to replace black running backs with white ones? No doubt it would be the shot heard round the world since from things I’ve read blacks in the NFL think certain positions belong to their race and running back is one of them.

Slightly related, the field sport of high jumping is one I would think west African Blacks would dominate as they do sprints; but it is mainly a white European event with a sprinkling of Blacks; technique trumping pure athleticism, I suppose.

Maybe the best American woman in recent years is Randall Cuninngham’s daughter, with Randall coaching and managing her; has me thinking of a White suburban dad hauling his daughter around to various niche sport camps, helping her practice and hone the techniques.

This is due to the changes in the game from concussion awareness. Running QBs always had a fine time in college but the pro game was just to violent. Now with those pesky defensive rules legislated out of the game qbs are free to run around, buy time, confuse defenses and never have to worry about taking too much punishment.

Generally they revert back to pedestrian performance once they get hurt. See Mahomes this year for example.

At first I thought it would be the usual kind of vibrant, but the victims were “Asian” according to the news reports. Asia is an awfully big place so that really doesn’t narrow it down much.

The article mentions the next door neighbor a Mr. Choua Vang. Vang is a Hmong name. Hmong are the quintessential jungle Asians. During the Vietnam War they were called “Hill Tribesmen” which gives a pretty good idea of what they were/are. They fought (well) on the side of the Americans during the war so afterward we felt obligated to let some of them come here. Hillbillies tend to make good soldiers because they grow up shooting at game. The football party and the shooting indicate that they have assimilated to American life but perhaps not in an entirely good way.

Certainly looks that way to me as well…I’d say Wilson and Mahomes have the look of long term high productivity players for sure. Watson I think will have a short career because he takes a ton of physical abuse, and Jackson looks amazing right now but let’s see what happens after a couple of years of teams getting a bunch of tape on him. Dak is a decent but not top-drawer QB, but I think as long as he’s healthy Dallas will keep him around.

“Article” on the Fresno shooting? What article? I heard about the gunplay on the local morning teevee news. Here in the Rust Belt, when a mass shooting makes the news and the story doesn’t show or state the ethnic group, it’s a NAM thing. (“Police are engaged in a massive manhunt for the shooter, although we and presumably they are, uh, mystified as to what this perp might look like. Viewers are urged to call police if they spot xir.”)

Then NBC Today had an excited “if it bleeds it leads” piece, following the same script until it veered into “another tragic incidence of gun violence, just like Sandy Hook.”

Given that Fresno was the location and that NBC’s anti-badwhite bias was kept implicit, I thought it was a sure thing that the shooter(s) is/are Hispanic. Surprise! Not NAM, after all.

Hmong aren’t really analogous to “hillbillies” — back home in Vietnam, they were still somewhere in the transition from hunter-gatherers to settled farmers. Their remarkably high level of random violence is something that they brought with them (along with low IQ and poor impulse control), not something that they “assimilated” to. Just look at “assimilation” by other SE Asians in the US for comparison. Sure, they have gangs — but Negro-tier levels of random violence, welfare dependence, teen pregnancy, etc.? Uh, no.

Patrick Mahomes would likely not to as well in New England, and Tom Brady would not do as well in KC. This year, Brady’s numbers are down, but he no longer has some key players, but New England keeps winning.
While Mahomes was out, Moore fit in quite nicely, as did Bridgewater replacing Brees. Any successful team has successful systems that adapt. That is why Landry’s Cowboys and Noll’s Steelers were successful as Belechick’s Patriots are. The system was strong, and various players, taken for their fit in the system, come and go.
Players like the kneeler, are clubhouse lawyers and poison to any system irrespective of their talent level.

They’re an impressively hard-assed people – probably the most memorable anecdote from the book was the description of how Hmong women squat to give birth, catch the baby themselves, and go right back to farming – but that hasn’t served them well in the United States.

    The End of Babies
    https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2019/11/16/opinion/sunday/capitalism-children.html
    By Anna Louie Sussman
    Nov. 16, 2019

In the fall of 2015, a rash of posters appeared around Copenhagen. One, in pink letters laid over an image of chicken eggs, asked, “Have you counted your eggs today?” A second — a blue-tinted close-up of human sperm — inquired, “Do they swim too slow?”

The posters, part of a campaign funded by the city to remind young Danes of the quiet ticking of their biological clocks, were not universally appreciated. They drew criticism for equating women with breeding farm animals. The timing, too, was clumsy: For some, encouraging Danes to make more babies while television news programs showed Syrian refugees trudging through Europe carried an inadvertent whiff of ugly nativism.

Dr. Soren Ziebe, former chairman of the Danish Fertility Society and one of the brains behind the campaign, believes the criticism was worth weathering. As the head of Denmark’s largest public fertility clinic, Dr. Ziebe thinks these kinds of messages, fraught as they are, are sorely needed. Denmark’s fertility rate has been below replacement level — that is, the level needed to maintain a stable population — for decades. And as Dr. Ziebe points out, the decline is not solely the result of more people deliberately choosing childlessness: Many of his patients are older couples and single women who want a family, but may have waited until too late.

But the campaign also notably failed to land with some of its prime targets, including Dr. Ziebe’s own college-age daughter. After she and several classmates at Copenhagen University interviewed him for a project on the campaign, Dr. Ziebe sought answers of his own.

“I asked them, ‘Now, you know — you have gained a lot of information, a lot of knowledge. What are you going to change in your own personal lives?’ he said. He shook his head. “The answer was ‘Nothing.’ Nothing!”

I doubt Kaepernick will have a job in the NFL anytime soon. I would be extremely surprised if he ever plays professional football ever again.

I think there is room for him as a backup. I also think the gap between what a team is willing pay him, and the extent to which they would use him, and what he is willing to play for is too large.

I have no malice towards Kaepernick. I just remember what Clay Mathews told him after sacking him. Mathers said Kaepernick is not Russell Wilson.

Let’s tell the truth about this, whites (and friends). Because it’s clear that the browns’ lesser adeptness to controllers outside of Madden (and few, if visible oreo nerds) means that they’ve been better at other physical stuff such as sports. True, whites have more guns, brains, computers, homes- but without a good physique or physical health, white men become relegated as breeding partners, and the other advantages are bandaids in comparison. Specially considering that the Kulkture increasingly promotes bm/wf couplings, and brown male role models (for example, the Rock on every action movie).

So yeah, let’s try to hit the weights whites, before “separate but equal” becomes a necessity… again lol. Mahomes actually played better last year, so his durability (& much of the rest’s) is still unproven. Quarterback ratings stats, as can be seen in the chart, are not a reliable indicator of their teams’ position in the standings. Quarterbacks won’t live forever & given some of the hits they take, it’s a wonder they live as long as they do. Tom Brady has won six Super Bowls (and not just in his mind). When any of these other upstarts do that, let us know. Then we’ll know for sure they’re playing “exceptionally well”.

Steve is lucky he had his cancer in the nineties, treatment is a lot better, still not quite good enough for my father when it returned then though. Obviously losing your hair is a much bigger issue for women.

    Vick’s legs

The three archetypes for QB are Pure Pocket Passer, Playmaker, or Running Quarterback. Nearly every super bowl winner I can remember was a PPP, the rest being playmakers. Examples of each are Brees, Wilson, and Jackson, respectively.

Jackson may just have the arm strength and accuracy to be a true running QB to win a Super Bowl. He doesn’t miss often. I think his right-handedness gives him a better chance at being the Best Player in the League than Michael Vick, who had much of the same skill set 15 years ago, but was a southpaw.

The floor applies to all students, not just blacks.

My son, not black, almost flunked his freshman year American History class at a different Madison HS because the teacher made most of the points each term for busy work, such as … circle the words!!! Or … easy crossword puzzles!!!!

He got a B in a semester project. He got As on all his tests. He got an A on the final. He did an extra credit report on his favorite president. All that, and a D for the semester because he wouldn’t do the busy work.

That one teacher almost cost my son a spot in college, even though his test scores were in the top 1%.

Had the floor been in place, the grade would have been a C or even a B.

The floor doesn’t only help black kids.

My son graduated from a good college in 4 years and is now making an above average salary.

Yes, exactly. If Kaepernick tried out for any one team and was not hired, he would be on Twitter the next day calling them racis’.

I cannot believe that Kaepernick was really so stupid as to blow a legitimate chance. Rather he must have realized that he is no longer of NFL caliber and had no chance to actually get on a team, so he intentionally sabotaged the tryout and went with Plan B which was to gain more radical street cred which he can cash in on with a book or movie deal or something.

BTW, this kind of excuse making and refusal to take yes for an answer is a characteristic of being scammed. If you are ever trying to buy or sell something online or a similar situation and the other party keeps moving the goalposts like that, run away.

Yes, something that needs to be mentioned.

While rules changes make running QBs a bit safer, it is still very risky. Black QBs are desired mainly for their quick running ability.

However as some note, this can make short careers. Knees and ankles can go quickly and there isn’t much the NFL can do to protect those. Arm breaks and other things like concussions are more likely in running tackles. A good running QB is a better deal than one who isn’t fast or good at that. But can last much longer as long as passing and decisions remain good.

Of course Concussion Ball is doomed. Once high school football is phased out due to long term damages to the brain (soon, litigation and science will overwhelm love of gladiatorial warfare in this sport) tackle football will stop. This may take a few decades, but it is coming. No known way to stop recursive brain injuries, which are known to lead to dementia. The NFL can pay billions in damages for ex players, but public schools/colleges cannot and will not. Mamas will end football, and lawyers.

The original Kunta– isn’t that name misogynistic?– was so hapless he was caught by malarial white men on his home territory.

    Hardly.

More like the original Alex Haley was so inept as a writer that the parts of “Roots” — the heartwrenching tale of his alleged “family history” — that he didn’t simply make up, he plagiarized from… a novel. Written by a white man*.

Harold Courlander, author of “The African,” sued, and won a $650.000 judgment for this blatant plagiarism after Haley perjured himself on the stand.

And of course, the jews who ran the slave trade didn’t go running through the jungle chasing after Negroes — they just bought Negro prisoners from other Negroes… FOB port. Much simpler.

*OK, to be fair, Haley also plagiarized significant parts of Roots from Jubilee, a historical novel written by Margaret Walker, a mulatta. She lost out in the courts, though — must have been due to “racism.”
