From the New York Times:

The Case for Immigration as Reparations

Immigration quotas should be based on how much the host country has ruined other countries.

By Suketu Mehta
Mr. Mehta is the author of “This Land Is Our Land: An Immigrant’s Manifesto.”

June 7, 2019

There is a lot of debate these days about whether the United States owes its African-American citizens reparations for slavery. It does. But there is a far bigger bill that the United States and Europe have run up: what they owe to other countries for their colonial adventures, for the wars they imposed on them, for the inequality they have built into the world order, for the excess carbon they have dumped into the atmosphere.

    So bugger off.

The inequality, climactic harm and historical injustice wrought by these potential host countries seem so great, one wonders why the sainted southern hemispherians even go near them. Probably they should be kept out for their own good.

  5. People from countries whose chief export is countless millions of humanoids whom no one has requested should not be lecturing anyone on the topic of migration.

Or on any topic frankly. Get your own house in order and then perhaps you and your 1.5 billion fellow countrymen might just be persuaded to stay there. Where you most certainly belong.

But you don’t want to stay there, do you. And it’s not because the British once tried to civilize you. It’s because you hate countries filled with people like yourself.

  8. This is serious business here. I think this will be the next course of lies out of the ctrl-left side of the open borders crowd coming, Steve. I’ve seen otherwise well-meaning commenters here on unz, along with the Commie types who want total ruin America, use the very same logic. Do they believe it? The former do, and the latter don’t care about telling the truth.

Their big thing is to name any time in history (say the Cold War era in El Salvador, Central America) and tell us that the fighting that happened there is the cause for it being a violent place NOW, 30 years later, and that’s why we should not complain when people invade illegally from that country.

Part of it involves American destruction of foreign countries that IS going on today. I agree with these duplicitous people that the invade-the-world stuff should stop now, but then I would like to ask them if that’s why 30,000,000 illegal alien Mexicans are here, and what war that’s been about. Also, why all the .Indians, as O.O. just pointed out?

I’ve heard the same regarding the Euro Moslem-Immivasion, and I’m not really sure how you could argue the same way, but they will use the colonial era, I guess, as is this guy’s tack. Brilliant! Is this whole thing a variation of the Neocons’ Invade-the-World/Invite-the-World plan? “We must invite the world because we invaded the world.” Are they all working from the same playbook?

  11. No, No, No to Reparations for slavery. No one alive in the US today ever owned a slave. I don’t want race baiters like Jackson and Sharpton to steal any more of my tax money.

Mehta, however, does have a point on reparations for other countries which have been unjustly destroyed by US aggression. Washington owes the people of Iraq, Libya, and Vietnam (to name 3) a debt which can never be repaid.

In some alternate reality where Europe avoided Africa would African countries be better off? Would countries even have ever developed? Colonization at least left some infrastructure, most of which has gone to pot, but still, better than nothing.

The idea that without colonization Africa would have developed into something better for its people than it is now doesn’t hold water. Perhaps the idea is that Europe had a moral responsibility, just by being human, to develop Africa for Africans for free, as gift? How would that have worked? Which tribe would have been the recipient of the freebie largess? What would Africa look like today under that scenario? Peace and prosperity? Maybe we should have done some nation building, which works so well, after … forcing Africans to attend democracy (or or socialism) classes?

Without Western intervention it’s clear Africa would today be a primitive shithole. Now at least it’s a third world shithole with enough infrastructure that if they ever decide to go modern, they know the direction.

Of course there remains the smart fraction problem.

Not a lucky accident that those pushing reparations employ a very narrow definition of what reparations should consist of, i.e. cash. I’ll give Coates a pass because he’s basically a high brow version of Oswald Bates (the malaprop prone prisoner from In Living Color). This gentlemen, however, has surely noticed the number of hotels, restaurants, small business owned by his subcontinental brethren that were started with preferential loans. By any logical standard AA, SNAP, any other variety of welfare, preferential loan and bids awarded to minorities, are all forms of reparations.

It wouldn’t surprise me a bit if in the not too distant future the demand for reparations morphed into a demand for restitution because you see all these acts were criminal in nature with whitey being the perpetrator and people of color being the victim.

You’re right, Mr. Mehta. Of course we’d all be better off if we Americans were all shitting in the streets like your co-ethnics in your native Calcutta, instead of “dumping excess carbon into the atmosphere.”

  18. “There is a lot of debate these days about whether the United States owes its African-American citizens reparations for slavery. It does. But there is a far bigger bill that the United States and Europe have run up: what they owe to other countries for their colonial adventures, for the wars they imposed on them, for the inequality they have built into the world order, for the excess carbon they have dumped into the atmosphere.”

A perfect example of the problem with bringing people into the US who have no investment in the US. It doesn’t matter if it’s a Sen. Rubio, or a Sen Cruz and something liberals tend to without batting an eye. They use issues pertaining to blacks to justify a load of nonsense. No country on the planet has contributed more to the healing, restoration economically and socially.

Stop immigration for five years period. People keep asking what’s going wrong with the country — problem among the top five — importing people who are not vested in her success as a nation state. The comment ignores that the US has only been in place as actor for 200 years. Her presence despite mistakes has been overwhelmingly positive. So much so that she has damaged her interests by not lending her full support to Europe in maintaining the colonial powers system.

    As with all things black,

whether it’s the declaration of independence, the constitution and slavery, US expansion, equality democracy verses civil war . . . vietnam and equitable treatment and access, murdering children in the womb, poverty, deconstructing family, women’s relentless dismantling of social roles and responsibilities, relational conduct and marriage . . . some liberal/democrat/socialist disconnected from reality uses the singular construct of the black experience to water down the issue, miss the point and distract from our ancient long term nemisis — working through the consequence of treating blacks with inequity.

it never fails that someone, always someone of light skin jumps on the black US history experience ti advance something nonsensical and utterly false – like global reparations. And it never fails that the dominant society in the US still shivering in its boots about looking in the mirror on the issue of blackness grabs the escape hatch as a way out.

The endemic problems of humanity did not start with the US and the US has not made them worse. We could end aid today and the world would convulse. And that is just straight up humanitarian aide. We could cease out military aide and the world would shift from the weight (and by the way that us humanitarian military aid. Those places where the US is building dams, bridges engaged in engineering projects . . . etc.) We could cease our WTO (NAFTA) commitments to trade which has propelled Mexico, for example from the world’s bottom tier of under developed economies to number 11 just below Greater Britain and the world brake – stop.

Here’s the aid I think would be fair and appropriate. That for a period of five years the US stop helping. Stop trying to unravel other nation’s internal dysfunctions – stop. They want to be a democracy not our issue – their choice. You don’t want capital markets, fine – your choice. You want to continue another five thousand years of ethnic strife, caste systems, government run operations from birth to death – fine. Let them so attend. Earthquake, volcano, Tsumami, disaster relief in general — fine, plenty of US citizens could stand to a disaster relief break.

Want to be under the thumb of of communists, good grief — to this day Chinese coming to the US have no clue that Tianemen even happened muchless why.

And this is petty on my part — but will the elite papers stop hiring people who seek the dissolution of the US —

    Good grief.

What utter and complete nonsense. The reparations to the world that are appropriate is to mind our own business and tend to our homeland, including the matter of dealing with the impact of having black citizens minus the everything light skinned people use to say

    “It’s like being black.”

When in fact blacks out to in the front of the line demanding to reinforce the border by building the wall, they for force of some humanitarian need to emasculate themselves blithely agree to the mantra

    “It’s like being black.”

    Nonsense.

The story was first told in blaring newspaper headlines and television sound bites. Then it became a documentary. Last week, it was revisited again in a four-part series on Netflix. Later this month, it will be the subject of an opera in California.

    So…

Before Sandra Bland (2015), Eric Garner (2014) and Trayvon Martin (2012), there were the Central Park Five: Korey Wise, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana, Antron McCray and Kevin Richardson.

The Times columnist Jim Dwyer covered the case for years. He said it showed how the criminal justice system could be “warped by forces like race, and how it is shaped by an atmosphere of fear.”

I only there had been DNA tests with correct chains of custody in those racist ’89s. (Would anyone hold a placard saying “Stop Racism Now” back then?)

It’s a four-part Netflix mini-series called “When They See Us,” directed by Ava DuVernay — a lightly fictionalized retelling of the case (similar to popular retellings like “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”)

This, of course, is a classic anti-imperialist statement. And it makes sense, if you love your country and want the Empire to pack up and go home. It should be couched in if/then language: If the US/UK/Germany/France/Saudis, etc. do not go home, then their countries must accept hordes of our people as immigrants. And those imperial overlords must send home at least 50% of our people so they can help rebuild our nation.

But the reality is that the Elites of the world run by the Anglo-Zionist Empire want all this, and they want the carnage to come from it. It is the original Anglo-Zionist Empire, the UK/British Empire, writ as large as large can be.

  36. Suketu Mehta’s website says he was “born in Calcutta”, capital of West Bengal and formerly capital of British India, until New Delhi… I have lately become aware that West Bengal has a great tradition of leftist activism, dating back to the British Raj. They elected communists to run the state for a generation, then (so I have read at Quora) a local party replaced them (Mamata Banerji’s TMC) but many of the old communist cadres switched to her party, and most recently Modi’s BJP is making inroads… Some of the Quorans complain of Bengali radicals who sit around speaking loftily but getting nothing done.

So I interpret Mr Mehta as part of this tradition – a transplanted Bengali radical, who must feel right at home in the American new left of open borders and reparations for everything. I have lately encountered others like him on Australian campuses, campaigning against “western civilization”, who seem to be actual Trotskyites, still hoping for a global worker’s revolution.

Ok, NYT should argue that millions of Arabs should stream into Israel for all the harm Zionists have done to their neighbors.

In the past, whites argued they had a right to conquer and colonize other lands for bearing the gifts of Christianity and progress.
Now, non-whites argue they have a right to conquer the West for causing all the problems.

Excuses, excuses. Why not be honest and admit it’s about material interest?

Btw, blacks brought to the US have far better lives than blacks left behind in Africa.

Also, invaders also target Sweden, a non-colonial nation. They also want to swamp Poland and Hungary.

Actually, in terms of development, would the world have electricity and modernity without the West?
It seems the rest has a lot to owe to the West.

Recently yes, the US has been an evil player, but if Mehta has courage and honesty, he would blame Jewish Power in the op-eds of NYT. But as his main interest is getting his people to the nicer nations of the West, he colludes with Jewish globalaist-imperialists.

Since the end of the Cold War, much of US evil around the world can be blamed on Jewish Power: Rape of Russia, destruction of Iraq, sanctions on Iran, Wall Street crimes, media as propaganda, rise of PC, spread of homo degeneracy, surveillance state, mainstreamization of porn culture, opioids, etc.

How about Mehta call for reparations by Jews for gentile victims?

Reparation for imperialism was national liberation.

India for Indians, Africa for Africans. But on their own, they made a mess of things, and on some level, they are sorry that the Great White Savior left. Whites did things better. So, they chase after whites in white nations.

If colonial white saviors behaved with arrogance and confidence as masculine assertive conquerors, the colonized white saviors of the Current Year behave with the pride of guilt and shame as feminine apologetic prigs. Granted, much of the virtue signaling is to hide the fact of gentrification(against blacks) and reliance on helot labor from 3rd world. Even though immigrants may take more in social services, they destroy the power of Labor that used to be far more expensive for the business class. Better to have low-wage helots on food stamps than higher-wage workers with Union clout.

Btw, speaking of reparations, why no mention of American Indians, the biggest victims of American history? After all, blacks still own Africa. And black Americans have great power. In contrast, American Indians lost their homeland forever to aliens and they amount to nothing in American cultural and political life.

Since immigration led to demise of Indians, the most important reparation must be No More Immigration and a serious effort to revive indigenous communities. Same for Hawaiians.

In the end, Asian Indians benefited hugely from White Influence. In contrast, American Indians in both North and South lost their homelands forever. Yet, the Asian Indian seems to have no feeling for American Indians. His attitude is rather like the Aryans who invaded India. Even as he wails against whites, he works with white globalists toward the further invasion of the US that was once the homeland of distinct American Indians.

nobody actually believes in Global warming anymore. They now use the term “climate change” because the planet has not warmed for 20 years, despite higher levels of CO2 today.

Globally, 2016 edged out 1998 by +0.02 C to become the warmest year in the 38-year satellite temperature record. Because the margin of error is about 0.10 C, this would technically be a statistical tie. But the planet has been cooling since 2016. Both 1998 and 2016 are anomalies, outliers, and in both cases we have an easily identifiable cause for that anomaly: A powerful El Niño Pacific Ocean warming event.

The United States has the most reliable temperature data , going back to 1880. In 1999, James Hansen and Makiko Sato of GISS published a paper, “GISS analysis of surface temperature change. ” In the paper they try to explain why the United States has not experienced any significant warming after 1940. “The U.S. temperature increased by about 0.8°C between the 1880s and the 1930s, but it then fell by about 0.7°C between 1930 and the 1970s and regained only about 0.3°C of this between the 1970s and the 1990s. The year 1998 was the warmest year of recent decades in the United States, but the U.S. temperatures have not recovered even to the level that existed in the 1930s. The U.S. has warmed during the past century, but the warming hardly exceeds year-to-year variability. Indeed, in the U.S. the warmest decade was the 1930s and the warmest year was 1934.”https://www.giss.nasa.gov/research/briefs/hansen_07/

It isn’t the same “wrong.” The administrative governance of a country is very different from mass migration into it. It is debatable whether the former is even a wrong.

Administrative governance by Europe of other territories brought rule of law, technology, and economic development to territories in Asia and Africa. By contrast, mass migration causes ethnic cleansing and extinction of the receiving nations.

But this is already well-known, and this is just another chapter of comment-bait on iSteve. I am NOT devaluing or criticizing this; I am only saying that by now anybody who has been reading here for awhile is already familiar with this “thing”:

White Man’s world brings in “Suketu Mehtas” who then establish beachheads and commence taking over our world as best they can. That is nature. That is how life works: competition, death, the killing of whoever or whatever gets in the way of you and your particular, disgusting, unimportant-in-the-scheme-of-the-universe DNA code. Nothing matters, but you, whoever you are, however stinking, slimy, dark-lingam-and-yoni you happen to be, your imperative is only to further your DNA.

Our only option, IF WE EVEN CARE, is to stop, block, turn away, or even destroy-if-necessary, the Suketu Mehtas who happen to be ON OUR LAND only because our people were stupid enough to allow them here.

Of course, this natural fact will not survive human stupidity, and our homeland will continue to be CONQUERED by those others we naively invite and allow here.

They have lands of their own, but they are here, and we owe them less-than-nothing. If we were wise to nature, we would turn them away and shut them off forever.

  66. Hi, Steve,
Just wondering if you’ll approve this comment since my others are sitting in moderation.

  67. Either Mehta’s claim is a general moral principle or else it is special pleading.

If it is special pleading, it boils down to:
    1. White people have nice lands, women, and stuff.
    2. I, Suketu Mehta and my entire clan and village, would like to have White people’s nice lands, women, and stuff.
    3. Therefore it was really mine all along, because reasons.

If that is the case, then the correct response is wood-chipper.

If it is a general moral principle, then we must begin with Islam, whose debt to the nations it invaded and harmed is far older, larger, and vastly more intrusive. So:

    1. The Arabian Peninsula and all its oil wealth must be handed over to Coptic, Syrian and Phoenician Christians, Mesopotamians, Spaniards, and Berber North African Christians.

    2. All of Turkey/Anatolia must be handed over to the nations so grievously harmed by the Muslim Ottomans, including Greece, Serbia, Hungary, Austria, Bulgaria, Romania and Russia.

    3. Iran/Persia must be handed over to Pakistan and North India (sorry, Sukhetu, but you get a claim on Isfahan, not on New Jersey)

    4. All Islamic lands are the rightful property of sub-Saharan Africans, who were decimated by a full millennium of Islamic slave raids.

    5. In contrast, Africa itself (rather than certain individual Africans) was in fact /never/ harmed by the Western slave trade, but on the contrary, eagerly participated in it at great profit to Africa. The West did not /ever/ raid Africa for slaves, but paid in cash money, goods and services. No debt there, no moral claim on Western lands, no reparations.

Either the claim is specious special pleading, in which case Suketu can go Sukit; or else the claim is a universal moral principle, in which case All of Islam had better Sukit Up.

  68. With compound interest, the total reparations due should be well in excess of all their national income unto the seventh generation. You f—ing dotters owe us…

Remember when I went there and told them that? And they printed it with deference in their national newspaper of record?

Meh… obviously spelling this out as a program, and advocating for it as a form of racial revenge, is invidious and should make me and anyone with any decency (or not) hate the idea.

But it’s kind of always informed my thinking regardless.

It’s why, despite Britain’s historically low levels of immigration prior to New Labour, I’ve never really been particularly incensed about immigration to Great Britain from the former British Empire (i.e., most of the world), or to France from La Francafrique (which the French still largely control and help mismanage from a distance anyway), or to Germany (which respected no borders and attempted to redraw the map of the entire world in the 40s) from almost anywhere. Turnabout IS actually fair play.

By the same logic the Visegrad group would have
every right to preserve an ethnic homogeneity that they never sought to disrupt anywhere else. The smaller countries in Europe without a significant colonial past (Sweden being perhaps the worst example) are the ones that show the truly pathological side of allowing yourself to be swamped by untenable levels of mass immigration. Everyone else sort of opened the door.

As for America, I think this has already largely played itself out.

Aside from perhaps Liberia, America owes little to most African countries today, most of which are populated by descendants of those who received more material benefits than harms from the slave trade. However, I think it’s an underrated strength of America that, unlike Europe, recent African immigrants have a wholly American culture they can assimilate to, becoming virtually indistinguishable from the other group of “core Americans”. America absorbed a whole lot of people from Europe pretty successfully over a two hundred year period, and while further mass immigration is probably not in her best interests I think she will need to take advantage of this in dealing with “the most important graph in the world.” Hope for a nationwide Harlem Renaissance, facilitated by more bourgeois and high-achieving African immigrants (assuming you can defeat the wokeness, intersectionality, and affirmative action that would otherwise destroy the country). It’s looking like the best hope you have at this point.

Mexicans are really just repopulating the half of their country that was taken by force in the 19th century. Canadians, aside from being basically indistinguishable from “core Americans,” actually do have a surprisingly long list of grievances (which they are too polite to point out). People from elsewhere in the Americas really do have a long history of CIA meddling to thank in part for why they’d rather by Stateside. Puerto Rico and the Philippines (i.e. the cadet branch of the Americas in Asia): obvious answer is obvious.

None of these groups, in my view, pose an existential threat to America’s core identity, though there’s a case to be made that America should try to avoid becoming like one of the banana republics that she helped set up in her own hemisphere.

I sometimes wonder if Japan, had they actually achieved their goals in World War II, would have come to hate what they’d done.

We already tripled that. Is 37 million enough? That’s how many Africans are now in the US.

    Without immigration, America’s economic growth would have been 15 percent lower from 1990 to 2014;

As usual, liberals can’t do math, that’s why they’re so stupid. The US has also gained 80m people since 1990(250m then), such that our PER CAPITA GDP actually went down after adjusting for inflation.

US Per Capita GDP in 1990: $24,000, adjusted for 3% inflation: $56,600 in 2019 dollar

There were multiple perpetrators, probably more than a dozen, and most raped her after her eyeball was hanging out of her skull from having her head smashed in. The juries that convicted the five rapists did so knowing that other rapists had gotten away – they were told this by the prosecutor, and it was never considered exculpatory, because it wasn’t.

By the same logic the Visegrad group would have

You seem to be writing under a misapprehension. The European nations did not in general seek to “disrupt the ethnic homogeneity” in Africa or Asia. The places where you can make the argument they did so in Latin America are exceptions, but not the rule.

By and large what the European nations did do was to help govern territories in Africa and Asia, and in Latin America. They teamed up with local leaders. They brought to those areas the rule of law, advancements in technology, modern education, modern medicine, and economic development. When the natives expressed a desire that they no longer be governed from afar, the European countries eventually withdrew.

In short, there is in general no wrong to correct. And even if there were, the “turnabout” would certainly not be ethnic cleansing and extinction of Europeans from their homelands.

Why do you say “Yamnaya”? the people who founded the Aryan civilizations of India were the Andronovo-Sintashta (Nordic Indo-Iranian) people, who exterminated the Yamnaya (as well as their Afanasievo counterparts) long before they got to India. Yamnaya had nothing to do with India and were nothing like the Andronovo-Sintashta people who butchered them.

Arabs and North Africans enslaved millions of whites. I suppose that justified later European imperialism.

And maybe Russians and Iranians should take over Mongolia for past invasions.

And maybe Indian Hindus should demand mass migration into Central Asia to redress wrongs of the Mughal invasions.

Anyway, I don’t get it. The globalists say mass migrations were great all throughout human history. Then, why excoriate the Europeans whose imperialist ventures led to the biggest mass migrations in human history?

Imperialism, mass immigration, wars, and slave trade all led to mass movements of peoples. Wasn’t that a good thing? NYT says it was great because it mixed the races all over. Apparently, it’s great to force all peoples to mix against their will. All peoples must be forced the accept the ‘love’ of invaders. Mass demographic rape is cool. The great YouToo Movement. Your People Too must be invaded and mixed to prove that your race isn’t real.

Then, why blame whites for imperialism? It sure mixed peoples around all over the world.

First, it’s a laugh-out-loud example of Coulter’s Law in practice.

** Do you know either of the victims? Please email: [email protected] **

Uh, yeah, but isn’t it usually more helpful to get tips about identifying the perpetrators?

Not to worry, however, the Daily Mail has advised the general public to be on the lookout for teenagers in London who may have “a British accent.”

Second, this particular crime may not be “homophobia” per se, so much as homophilia run amok:

Miss Geymonat added: ‘They wanted us to kiss so they could watch us.

Finally, I get the feeling they aren’t telling the whole story of the confrontation:

The next thing I remember was Chris in the middle of them and they were beating her

So they just starting beating this woman out of the blue. It could have happened that way. The ladies may have also uttered a few choice words, perhaps even casting aspersions on their attackers’ (unidentified) ancestry.

But details are boring, the point is — Homophobia!!!

Perhaps the single greatest evil that modern liberalism has come up with is this concept of collective guilt and punishment.

It’s really an ancient, global, time-honored strategy for sanction/predation against the targeted group. The modern twist is the surprising number of (cucked) whites buying into their own ‘guilt’.

And taken to its logical conclusion it can only end in bloodshed and chaos.

In 1800, which is roughly when the British arrived in India in force, the population of India was 180 million. In 1950, which is roughly when the British left, the population was 450 million. So the population increased by a factor of two and a half whilst the British were in charge. Similar spectacular and unprecedented population increases are true of all other countries belonging to the British Empire. Even Ireland between 1800 and 1830 doubled in population, which explains the disastrous consequences of the famine.

Having a history of colonialism is neither necessary nor sufficient for explaining or justifying nation changing immigration. It isn’t necessary, since Sweden never had any colonial possessions, yet they are taking in many migrants from the Third World. It isn’t sufficient, since both Japan and Turkey had empires in the past, but no-one is demanding they take in migrants from the Third World.

The lack of gratitude for all the benefits brought to the rest of the world by white European men, such as anaesthetics, analgesics, Air Conditioning, aspirin, automobile, aeroplane,…, Yale lock, zipper. The lack of gratitude is clearly a result of having an inferiority complex about owing so much to a group of people not your own, to another tribe.

Some one on youtube made an excellent point I have never heard before. White liberal types imagine they’re being cool and progressive by trying to convince themselves and others that white people harmed places like India by their presence. But the Indians who promote that narrative are not leftists in those countries but nationalist right. Its a nationalist right wing narrative, not a left wing one, in the countries that were colonised.

As Jared Taylor said. If a dot Indian thinks that whites stole America from the Red Indians, then the only moral thing he can do is return to his own country, since he has no more right to stolen land than the white man. Furthermore, he has even less right to any opinion on the immigration policy of the USA, because if the land really belongs to the Red Indians then only Red Indians should decide who is allowed to settle.

War graves destroyed on day millions commemorated 75th D-day anniversary

    Claire Gilbody-DickersonFriday 7 Jun 2019 12:18 pm

The graves in Hirst Wood Burial Ground, Shipley near Bradford, were for the fallen of World War One (Picture: Telegraph &Argus / SWNS)

‘Disgusting thugs’ have vandalised the graves of war heroes in the run-up to D-Day, it has emerged. Numerous gravestones in Hirst Wood Burial Ground were destroyed in an act of ‘callous thoughtlessness.’ Among those damaged were graves specially provided by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission for the 75th anniversary of the landing operations, police said. The damage was intentional as none of the civilian headstones in the cemetery in Shipley, West Yorkshire, were touched. Police say they think the attacks happened on Monday or Tuesday and they were discovered by locals on Thursday – the 75th anniversary of D-Day itself.

  154. Considering that America does not have a colonial history( for the most part) much less so with India, it is entirely illogical to even suggest that they give ANYTHING to any non-existent colonies. If I remember correctly, Roosevelt actually pressured Churchill and the empire to relinquish control over the Subcontinent, so Mehta should be eternally grateful to the Americans for their graciousness over that matter. Next, insofar that only a minority within a minority of ((Americans)) brought in slaves and owned them as to such capacities, it would be unjustifiable for their current progeny to reap the consequences resulting from the misdeeds of their ancestors,(again, if their ancestors even owned slaves, which in itself is quite dubitable). To add to that, slavery was abolished by white people themselves, so the moral justification does not exist in this scenario either. BUT there could be an argument made for the countries America had devastatingly destroyed, by means of invasions, by acting as aiders and abettors for terrorist factions and by means of relentless and hard-pressed sanctions(which are deployed to cripple the economic productivity of a nation). Therein lies a constructive, and rather hotly debatable argument.

Economically, it is quite productive, and as one would assume, it intrinsically attracts migrants from elsewhere towards it. This is hardly conclusive of Bengali origin, in itself, and many people are born here, yet they move elsewhere etc. I was born in Windsor(Canada) yet I moved before I hit the innocent age of 5.

    a transplanted Bengali radical,

If Bengalis can be distinguished from other subcontinentals by whiteys, then that is undoubtedly a substantial victory, as that suggests that we are unique and different from other browns, and that we are distinct in our personality and mannerisms, so much so that we are disernibly different. At least we are not blandly represented in the monolithic way we usually are, portrayed as if all subcontinentals are the same politically, or behaviourally. Small victories I guess. Bittersweet.

  175. HA says:

“Immigration quotas should be based on how much the host country has ruined other countries.”

Even on its own terms, this argument makes no sense. It’s a house of cards. To the extent “we” owe anything to some country we messed up, we presumably owe it to ALL its citizens (primarily the most downtrodden), not the ones who are resourceful and wealthy enough to pay a smuggler and are able to cross oceans and deserts in order to reach the West. To the extent that immigration benefits the latter, it is nothing more than a case of the well-off looking out for others who are relatively well-off while leaving the weakest and the most vulnerable to rot.

In fact, to the extent we siphon up the most resourceful and the best educated third-worlders to be our bedpan changers and fruit vendors, we just make those countries even poorer, which is far more egregious than colonialism ever was. We’re not just extracting the country’s natural resources, we’re sucking up those who are the most eager for Western values and institutions (at least that’s what the NYT is always assuring us), and who are presumably those most suitable to bring about positive change back home.

If the West really believed each and every immigrant is some cream-of-the-crop wunderkind who is more deserving of a slot in the West than those born there, why would they support a program that robs their home countries of these Ubermensch while at the same time wailing about colonialism?

  186. “Mexicans are really just repopulating the half of their country that was taken by force in the 19th century. ”

    More nonsense.

You might want to actually read actual history to have an actual clue. Nope. Lousy immigration enforcement is what lost Mexico the Southwest. Despite repeated entreaty by the Mexican Government to populate the region, Mexican citizens chose not to do so.

So the Mexican government invited US citizens under conditions they did not enforce — that sounds familiar —

And as fate would have it the invited had a rebellion and won . . .

The rest is history, you might want to take a look.

I hope Trisha Meili has sued her rapists to get some of their outrageous $40 million payoff from NYC – after all, they couldn’t have made that money without her.

As for how guilty the “Central Park Five” were, Ann Coulter’s column on it from 2014 is worth a read: http://www.anncoulter.com/columns/2014-04-23.html

Trump is right about the Central Park Jogger rapists, just like he was right about Muslims cheering on 9/11. In both cases, anti-Trump elites are trying to retcon history, abetted by 2001 and 1989 being in the pre-smart phone era. 1989 was also in the pre-Giuliani era in NYC were the level and types of crime were both outrageous compared to today. Pakistanis tend to be “lighter” and they have that look( not in the way you’re saying though I don’t think). See? You agree as well, we all clearly are not the same. Now was that so hard?

Also, Windsor is literally only 4.4 percent South Asian. It’s like 72% WHITE. Why are you so consistently off the mark? Quit the alarmist quack you spout on a daily basis(or damn near close to it?

My senior parents live in Windsor. It’s a decently livable city.We moved because my father got a dope ass job(100K plus CAD). During those days, that was pretty special.

‘Mehta’ is a Parsee (Zoroastrian) surname.

The Parsee national myth claims that their ethnicity is not native to India, but emigrated from Iran around the time of the Muslim invasion of Iran.

Anyhow, the Parsees were and are very successful in India and in colonial times made considerable money by acting as middlemen for the British and exploiting the Hindus.

In many ways they are and were the Jews of India.

And that 72% be fake news. First of all, anything below 85% is unacceptable, and in reality windsor is 60% white with all the aliens.

Yes there are something like 550,000 international students in Canada. Notice they get sent to the rust-belt areas for maximum population replacement capacity. An absolutely staggering number. Needs to stop now.

Then again, I’m not for assimilation either. I want whites to be seperate and have our own thing. I’m just not interested in taking these people from the 3rd world either.

First, I would plan to lose. This is a big global issue and regular people like you and I don’t get a say.

Secondly, I suspect most reasonable people here would actually like a lot of non-white people if you got to know them, and would dislike a lot of white liberals and your preferred people wouldn’t align by race.

Lastly, I’m sympathetic with white nationalist crowd because normal people care about their ethnic, cultural, ancestral identity. White people are basically having their identity undermined and destroyed via rather dishonest political rhetoric and dirty tricks. It’s quite reasonable for people to cause humans great deep unhappiness. Lastly, major left-wing culture is quite mean to white identity. This NYT article is a great example of white bashing and resentment being promoted by the big cultural institutions of the US.

  223. @UrbaneFrancoOntarian

Yes indeed, that’s an incredible number. Even more alarming are the number of permanent residents coming in, there was a total of 321K in 2018, of those an astounding 70K came from India alone. I strongly suspect that many Indians have penetrated the immigration bureaucracy and are trying to get as many of their fellow countrymen in as possible.

    • Replies: @UrbaneFrancoOntarian
  224. @Perspective

    Source for that?

Would not surprise me though. The immigration numbers are clearly higher than ‘350,000’ per year (which is just the number of new citizens). The government is lying to us for sure, just take a look around.

And these are not high skill, ‘economic’ immigrants anymore either. Weird and creepy fobs. Bringing absolutely nothing to this country but welfare dependency and crime.

So from my senses (which are never wrong) – Canada is far below 73% white, and dropping much faster than 1% a year.

  225. @UrbaneFrancoOntarian

    “Welfare dependency”

We take the least amount of welfare and we are donors

    “Crime”

Wrong, we are still underrepresented in actual crime(not talking about driving etc). The negroids, arabs and latins beat us. So do the SE Asians.

Plus, the biggest welfare leeches are the Frenchies in Quebec

  226. Migrations (ie invasions, conquest, and ethnic cleansing) are older than history itself. Therefore, Whitey deserves to be punished for his recent conquests by being in turn conquered. And also it’s natural and inevitable and actually good for us, or something. It’s not like we try to stop or at least limit other things that are older than history, like murder, regardless of how common these were in the past.
