A Huge Caravan Of Central Americans Is Headed For The US, And No One In Mexico Dares To Stop Them
“If we all protect each other, we’ll get through this together.”

San Pedro Tapanatepec, MexicoTaking a drag from her cigarette, a Mexican immigration agent looked out toward a caravan of migrants that grew larger with each step they took on the two-lane highway.

When the agent, who’d covered her uniform with an orange and white shawl, learned that the Central American migrants heading her way numbered more than 1,000, she took off for the restaurant across the street.

“I’m going to have a relaxing Coke,” she told BuzzFeed News.

For five days now hundreds of Central Americans — children, women, and men, most of them from Honduras — have boldly crossed immigration checkpoints, military bases, and police in a desperate, sometimes chaotic march toward the United States. Despite their being in Mexico without authorization, no one has made any effort to stop them.

Organized by a group of volunteers called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, or People Without Borders, the caravan is intended to help migrants safely reach the United States, bypassing not only authorities who would seek to deport them, but gangs and cartels who are known to assault vulnerable migrants.

Organizers like Rodrigo Abeja hope that the sheer size of the crowd will give immigration authorities and criminals pause before trying to stop them.

“If we all protect each other we’ll get through this together,” Abeja yelled through a loudspeaker on the morning they left Tapachula, on Mexico’s border with Guatemala, for the nearly monthlong trek.

When they get to the US, they hope American authorities will grant them asylum or, for some, be absent when they attempt to cross the border illegally. More likely is that it will set up an enormous challenge to the Trump administration’s immigration policies and its ability to deal with an organized group of migrants numbering in the hundreds.

Mickey Kaus calls this The March to Save Trump.

A great political asset for Trump's guys & the 2018 elections.
  2. I really hope they are not turned away at the US border. They are truly heros.

You guys do know that white people are the real illegal immigrants

    We killed and enslaved

    We should shut up

I hope Trump sends in Federal troops and doesn't hesitate to shoot. Try reading The Camp of the Saints some time, snowflake.

They need to be stopped dead in their tracks and sent back. I wonder who is behind this shit organized crime enterprise People Without Borders? And why are they doing this during Passover???

I agree Duck. We can march them right into your house and you can feed and care for them.

Too bad American Indians were so xenophobic.

BTW, the American Indians are immigrants.

Slavery everywhere, throughout history, has been the rule, not the exception.

Black slavery in the US only happened because black Africans sold some of there own slaves.

    Do better next time.

    "We killed and enslaved"

The Aztecs more than likely killed and enslaved more Amerindians than Coloumbus and the US Governmtment combined!

Why are they so intent to come to the land of “white supremacy”and “institutional racism”? Don’t they know that the Trumphitlernaziklan is waiting to do to them what they did to innocent Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown?

  4. Turns out the first refugee caravan in 2017 was successful. Daddy Trump let (invited) them all in. Let’s see what happens this time.

Dozens of asylum seekers cross the border after tough journey across Mexico.

Last weekend, dozens of refugees who participated in a caravan that traversed Mexico to seek asylum in the United States, presented themselves at the San Ysidro port of entry in Tijuana and were admitted into the United States.

  7. At least the US army isn’t sending down trucks to pick them up at the Guatemala border, so we are better than Europe in that regard.

  8. This is what happens when you wave around the possibility of an amnesty. But they have DREAMS, Ivanka might have a sad face!

Who knew that the best way of invading was to arrive unarmed, and if over water, in an unseaworthy boat? Someone should have told Hitler – everyone might not be speaking German now in a top down fashion but there would be a lot more ethnic German German speakers outside of Germany.

  10. Mickey Kaus used to write cogent essays. He once “primaried” Senator Boxer and produced a campaign commercial that was a manically compressed exposition of his iconoclastic political platform. The video even featured a few seconds of his mom. Now, all he seems to do is “tweet.” What gives?

  12. Wow, just wow.

The Camp of Saints predicted the future very well. Hordes of African migrants storm into Europe and the Europe simply lets them in. Hordes of Central Americans are coming into the US, with organizational support of Mr Soros & friends, and nobody seems to have courage to stop them.

Perhaps the west will fall down. It would have been a shame to fall down to better organized, smarter, rivals. It is horrible to let the civilization brought down for the will to confront the uneducated hordes who can barely organize themselves.

  13. Kamala Harris is desperately seeking volunteers to hand out campaign literature. If these uncompensated Third-Worlders sign up for KAMALA 2020!, the taxpayers of California will be charged for a lifetime of welfare checks and food stamps for these poor unfortunates. Yeah, super-bold. Like when antifa go on rampages because they know the fix is in and the college authorities and the cops are gonna roll over for them.

Organized by a group of volunteers called Pueblos Sin Fronteras, or People Without Borders, the caravan is intended to help migrants safely reach the United States, bypassing not only authorities who would seek to deport them, but gangs and cartels who are known to assault vulnerable migrants.

And as long as they keep moving all the way to Los Estados Unidos, they get to be people without borders. On the other side of the Mexican border.

That’s kinda the whole point of the Mexicans doing nothing to stop them.

    • Replies: @Massimo Heitor

And as long as they keep moving all the way to Los Estados Unidos, they get to be people without borders. On the other side of the Mexican border.

Mexico is known for being particularly ruthless to unwanted immigrants attempting to enter Mexico from their Southern border. Even many pro-immigration groups admit this. Some Mexican sites have even agreed with Trump's "wall" and called for stronger border controls on their southern border.

Mexico, however, totally makes exemptions for migrants, simply passing through to the US. Just like Italy tried to shuttle large waves of African migrants on Northward out of Italy to the other European countries pressuring Italy to accept migrants. Except the countries north of Italy, such as France and Austria quickly closed migrant routes out of Italy, trapping the Africans in Italy.

India, of course, has a "shoot to kill" policy on their border with Bangladesh. The peaceful Buddhists in Myanmar are famously aggressively deporting the Rohingya after a series of conflicts with them living in Myanmar. China is notoriously ethno-centric... The wealthy arabs in the Gulf States have refused to accept any Arab Muslims of the same race, ethnicity, and religion, and prefer to import large numbers of temporary guest workers who don't ever get full rights of citizenship or basic legal equality with citizens.
  15. The day that Mexico gets a welfare state rivaling America’s is the day anyone with any sense starts being impressed by Mexico’s devotion to open borders.

  16. There’s never short demand for slave labor in places like Ciudad Juarez.

  17. For some reason I read this part and thought of the song, “Mexico,” by The Refreshments:

    From the song:

Of course! Neither he nor his well heeled supporters have to deal with the problem. After all, they're not in HIS neighborhood or the neighborhoods of his megabucks supporters. Until that time comes, there won't be any problems. So long as the Movers and Shakers move and shake the Great Mass of Wretches into neighborhoods inhabited by that segment of the population least able to cope with this mess, there won't be any problems. Brown etal. can always claim the High Moral Ground. Ahh, but when the day comes that the Great Mass of Wretches runs out of space and starts ever so slightly spilling into those neighborhoods where the moving into where the Movers and Shakers live--Voila!--a problem!

    NIMBY writ large.

  19. “Campamento de Santos” … it begins! (“stunningly racist” — HuffPo)

  20. Steve,
    What happened to your tags/categories?

I was just wanting to post a link to iSteve in an online discussion, but when I tried to look up “hate hoax”, it was difficult to find all the great posts you’ve put out. When I use the search function at the top of the right column on Unz, I get nothing. And there don’t seem to be category tags on posts anymore either.

  21. Non whites want to live in racist white countries.

  22. So right now, this invader column seems to be deep in southern Oaxaca, about a thousand miles from the US border. I’m guessing a five week march to Brownsville. Or double that if they keep flanking west to Tijuana/San Diego.

Rodrigo Abeja and Pueblos Sin Fronteras are something between über-coyotes and commanding officers of an invasion, which they cloak behind globalist/equalist jargon. Probably the Feds’ reaction will be to treat this as a law enforcement matter, but a military response would be perfectly justified, after all that’s what actual sovereign nations do.

    • Replies: @J.Ross
Exactly like MSF ferrying North African "Syrians" into Europe on the pretext of "rescue."
    , @Almost Missouri
Thanks to peterike's link, I can see that it turns out the "refugees" are hiring trains and trucks (or more likely the American organizers are hiring them), so it will be much sooner than five weeks when they reach the border. But the question remains, Texas (closer) or California (weaker)?

They are blaming all the problems of the world on the US and on white people. They are insulting white people and insulting America. This is the most unsympathetic argument.

I'm sympathetic with regular people from around the world who want a better life. I'm not sympathetic with this hatred of white people, and hatred of the US, and this style of demanding entry, and demanding benefits.
  24. Our first real Camp of Saints!

You/Kaus think Trump will do anything but drop snarky tweets about this? You could be and I hope are right, but I will make another prediction.

They arrive at our border. A few are let in each day to file their BS asylum applications and then released to disappear into ethnic enclaves in sanctuary cities. A few more sneak in each day. About 20 a day total between the groups. The rest form a shanty town. SJW collect money to feed them. Ultimately most end up as US residents.

100% of the pregnant women in the bunch are let in and never leave after their anchor is born.

Actually this is being changed under Trump. Pregnant asylum claimants are no longer automatically released and are being held in detention more.

Sessions is looking into changing the way asylum cases are being adjudicated. He has oversight over immigration judges.

Lots of changes under Trump but he gets little to no credit on this board.

That’s if they don’t get killed by some old white hillbilly with an AR-15 first, of course.

'Safely' and 'safe' - are beloved insipid liberal terminology.

If they are not safe on the journey why are they not safe? And if they are safe, why the vital importance of reaching the US? Perhaps they could go into more detail?
  28. Buzzfeed of course describes them, in order, as “children, women, and men,” but like the muslim invasion of Europe the picture shows 80% men in their physical primes.

  29. The most sensible policy is to find some poor, but politically stable and safe country, to take would-be refugees. People living in the The Northern Triangle of Central America (Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador) actually are going through hell. The countries are run over by gangs, with some of the highest homicide rates ever recorded. Its not like the US is wholly absolved of any guilt on this issue. Deep state CIA adventurism helped destabilize these countries and created the power vacuums for the gangs to take over. Haphazard immigration enforcement meant that Central American immigrants absorbed South Central LA gang culture from N.W.A., then exported back to their home countries.

If US immigration policy relies on “screw those people”, that’s not long-term politically viable. American voters aren’t going to accept sending teenage peasants back to be MS-13 sex slaves. We need to follow the example of Israel and Australia and find a hospitable country, who we pay to accept refugees. Places like Rwanda, Cambodia, or Bolivia. Poor enough that they’ll gladly accept a permanent refugee for $5000 (which is a pittance compared to the long-term cost to taxpayers of an unskilled immigrant whose kids get birthright citizenship), but aren’t active war zones.

Actual refugees, fleeing for their lives would be more than happy with their arrangement. If you’re worried about your family being raped and killed, you’re not going to complain about your destination having low GDP per capita. But this would completely deter all the economic migrants who are arriving under the pretense banner of being a genuine refugee.

    • Replies: @Samuel Skinner

Yeah, the Central America soil sure makes people violent. I'm sure glad that once they come here they no longer act that way. Imagine if it was genetic- then letting people from violent hellholes instead of economic refugees would cause the United States to fall apart even faster.

Israel just gunned down a bunch of people who rushed the border. I say we follow their example.
    , @Lot
That is both utterly nuts and better than our current policy.

How about we just end aslylum and refugee programs completely? There is no open ended moral obligation for Americans to fix the unfixable "problems" that occur when low IQ barbarians act like low IQ barbarians.
    , @George
"We need to follow the example of Israel and Australia "

Australia is sending it's Muslim Rohingyian refugees on Manus island Papua New Guinea to the US in exchange for Salvadorian migrants in the US. PNG has refused to keep them, and a court ruled that the government of PNG could not detain people for Australia. I don't know what the Australians are doing now.

Israel so far has been unsuccessful in removing the African refugees. Israeli pilots have refused to fly them. There is substantial public support for the African refugees. When secret agreements with African nations were revealed the African nations were embarrassed and backed out. Israeli news, Haaretz, began sending reports to find out what happened to East Africans sent to Rwanda with $3000, and it was not nice. Israeli courts are not completely cooperative. The Israeli government is now distracted with a corruption scandal. The Israeli wall works in part because of a civil war in Sinai and chaos in Gaza prevents migrants from crossing.

There is no easy solution. To stop the caravan the US or Mexico would need to use violence, in a public way, against women and children and then deport them.
    , @The Anti-Gnostic
Countries that can't run themselves are intractable at this point. If something must be done (and apparently, something must be done), let the billionaires who can't find anything to do with their money other than start foundations or buy government bonds have them. Then look the other way.
    , @DFH

The most sensible policy is to find some poor, but politically stable and safe country, to take would-be refugees.

These people are apparently white supremecists, as only a white nation will suffice as a destination, and the rest are all shitholes.
    , @AndrewR
The best bet would be to withdraw our empire from Eurasia and focus on Latin America, especially Mexico. Take over all the unstable countries and install competent rulers. This would serve our own long-term interests far better than our current policies, and it would make Venezuela, Northern Mexico and HonGuaSal livable again.
    , @El Dato
This doesn't sound all that bad.

But look at the Europe-Turkey arrangement. Turkey gets billions to keep refugees in border camps instead of waving them on. These camps cost millions to maintain. Then Turkey demands more billions. (At least, that was the situation the last time I looked)

Large houses with swimming pools are being built, but the camps stay.
    , @TontoBubbaGoldstein
    A very charitable solution, Chief.

However, the US Federal Government should not be in the charity business. Their job is to secure the border and look out for the interests US citizens.

I and I suspect, many other Americans, would support a private charity's undertaking of your solution.
    , @Perspective
Costa Rica is still pretty stable is it not? Though it would be really unfortunate to destabilize one of the few promising areas in the region.
Ultimately the best solution would be to limit third world immigration to the west, while encouraging people in the third world to take ownership and make their nations better places to live. I doubt any of that is feasible, at least right now.
    , @Clyde
I want nothing to do with these failed states of Central America and the people who want to erupt out of them and into America. We need to stop allowing them onto US soil where an asylum process can begin.
Notice how oil rich Venezuela has become a failed state. None of Central America will ever get any better. Their direct route of marching north through Mexico / aided by trains and hired trucks/ is easier than Africans making their way to Europe. Think about it!

If this mass entry via asylum claims is tolerated there will be more and larger. The asylum laws have to be changed. Jeff Sessions must make the administrative changes. This is Mexico giving Trump the big middle finger by allowing this march northward.

  30. The Palestinians, organised by Hamas, attempted something similar yesterday. The Israelis shot dead 16 of them.

The Israelis are allowed to do whatever they want at any time, will never face any kind of justice, and work day and night to avoid facing so much as criticism. Our border patrol suffers arbitrary limitations on how many deportations they can attempt to begin, to ease the workload of open-borders judges.
    , @Anonymous
That's nice but nobody will ever accuse Israelis of being Nazis so they can get away with things like this. It's not so simple for the U.S. and Europe.

So what happens when they reach the US border? Unlike the first caravan, this one seems larger and will have more publicity. The proposed border wall would not have helped as the caravan is most likely planning on marching to an official border crossing, and then disregarding any ‘lawful orders’.

  34. History often repeats art. The parallel to Jean Raspail’s Le Camp des Saints is eerie. The local university library holds the original French edition which I thought I might enjoy reading. Unfortunately, Raspail follows the contemporary tradition for French arty novels by commencing with an interminable description of the minutiae of that day’s weather, of the author who will recount the tale, of the the ambiance of the landing beach before the stench of the approaching hideous armada of derelict ships reaches the shore. The storyline however is prescient. Would make a great movie.

If US immigration policy relies on "screw those people", that's not long-term politically viable. American voters aren't going to accept sending teenage peasants back to be MS-13 sex slaves. We need to follow the example of Israel and Australia and find a hospitable country, who we pay to accept refugees. Places like Rwanda, Cambodia, or Bolivia. Poor enough that they'll gladly accept a permanent refugee for $5000 (which is a pittance compared to the long-term cost to taxpayers of an unskilled immigrant whose kids get birthright citizenship), but aren't active war zones.

Actual refugees, fleeing for their lives would be more than happy with their arrangement. If you're worried about your family being raped and killed, you're not going to complain about your destination having low GDP per capita. But this would completely deter all the economic migrants who are arriving under the pretense banner of being a genuine refugee.

That is both utterly nuts and better than our current policy.

“We need to follow the example of Israel and Australia ”

Australia is sending it’s Muslim Rohingyian refugees on Manus island Papua New Guinea to the US in exchange for Salvadorian migrants in the US. PNG has refused to keep them, and a court ruled that the government of PNG could not detain people for Australia. I don’t know what the Australians are doing now.

    • Replies: @Nachum
There is nearly universal support in Israel for deporting the "refugees," or "infiltrators" as they referred to by the papers here. The only opposition comes from a lunatic fringe, heavily left-wing American immigrant, which, alas, has allies on the Supreme Court. (Sound familiar?) I've never heard of a pilot refusing to fly them. The African countries in question made some noise but quietly kept to the deal. Haaretz is an anti-Israel rag, from you can believe not a word. (Other papers have shown Rwanda to be quite a pleasant place.) The wall works *despite* chaos in Gaza and Sinai, which would only encourage people fleeing.

But other than that, spot-on. :-)
  39. No. Trump is a weak cuck who will let them in. This march will make America White minority in five years. Since there will be many other marches.

No doubt Mr. Trump and his administration have plans for a wise and humane foreign policy towards southern neighbors that will ultimately improve the quality of life there and make less people want to migrate northwards. A lot of help with birth control would be a start as this is an area where US Catholics shine and the US makes excellent condoms.

Pew Research says that illegal immigration is negative. Noah Smith writes that there are more illegal migrants people moving south out of the US, than moving into the US. I find this completely ridiculous... I haven't dug through all the data and the statistical tricks they are using, but on the surface, the argument is too absurd. I suspect this is a blatant dishonesty used for strategic and ideological reasons.

You radically underestimate this fights and your opponents dedication. As Steve Bannon famously said:

"It is not only not going to get better, it is going to get worse every day."

"They're corporatist, globalist media who are adamantly opposed to an economic nationalist agenda like Donald Trump has," he said.

"Here's why it is going to get worse," he added. "Because as Donald Trump continues to push forward this agenda, and as economic conditions get better, as more jobs get better, they are going to fight.

"If you think they are going to give you your country back without a fight, you are sadly mistaken," he said. "Every day it is going to be a fight."

A lot of help with birth control would be a start as this is an area where US Catholics shine and the US makes excellent condoms.

That will only result in Hispanics becoming more like blacks, having few children but also few parents, if it is not accompanied by family focus and several other initiatives. The US should support right of center nationalist populism in Latin America, as it is both patriotic and business-friendly, something that lacks in both the mostly brown Marxist Latin left (and its urbane whitish left-liberal enablers) and the white Hispanic globalist right that just wants to keep the local elites' luxury above the plebs (and which are usually funded by the CIA and USAID). That said, the region is turning rightwards as of late, people are getting frightened by images from Venezuela. However, the Marxist appeal keeps existing because the Latin Right seems too globalist and elitist. So a solution to that problem must be found; and if our tax dollars are going to be funneled there by the Beltway anyway, might as well do things right. Otherwise, the Latin elites will cause economic crises for the sake of balancing budgets and bringing foreign investment to their elite-run companies (see Argentina currently), much like Bush-Romney Republicans who are their frienda. About 20 a day total between the groups. The rest form a shanty town. SJW collect money to feed them. Ultimately most end up as US residents.

You aren't being realistic. NumbersUSA and most immigration restriction advocacy + policy groups score Trump well, and the immigration expansionist groups score him poorly. That's pretty strong evidence that, yes, he really is on the restriction side. He has limited power and there is an aggressive multi-front culture war being waged on this issue.

The politics and rhetoric and strategy on this issue are also extremely complicated. I think he was so positive towards DACA recipients for thought out strategic reasons.

This doesn’t sound all that bad.

But look at the Europe-Turkey arrangement. Turkey gets billions to keep refugees in border camps instead of waving them on. These camps cost millions to maintain. Then Turkey demands more billions. (At least, that was the situation the last time I looked)

While offshoring the problem is better than what we have now, the sticking point in that idea is that absolutely no other Latin country likes to take in so much people. Much less the smaller Central American ones. Colombia is trying as hard as possible to keep its Venezuelan border shut. And before trying to send a message with this stunt, Mexican officials were prone to sending back Central Americans.
At any rate, the best is to try to install the best friendly (not puppet, friendly) governments possible, and hope for the best. Though to be honest, Latins only know to be governed by Marxists, globalist white elites, or military caudillos.

Nope. Just don't let them in. (Dispatch an army division to the border to help out if necessary.)

Let them create a big slum on the Mexican side of the border. Sure the "news" media will try and whip up the "humanitarian" crisis thing. All Trump has to do is--ignoring the whimps and whiners around him--stay strong and say "Everyone in the world does not have the right to live in the United States... anymore than everyone has the right to live in your house. The right to live in America belongs to American citizens, no one else."

This is fundamentally Mexico's problem. They created it by letting these folks march through their territory, let them deal with it. It will be an object lesson to Mexico and a lot of other folks.

Trump being strong--actually not even "strong", just doing what nations are supposed to do--will be a great boosts for nationalists in Europe as well. This is potentially a terrific win-win.

So right now, this invader column seems to be deep in southern Oaxaca, about a thousand miles from the US border. I'm guessing a five week march to Brownsville. Or double that if they keep flanking west to Tijuana/San Diego.

Rodrigo Abeja and Pueblos Sin Fronteras are something between über-coyotes and commanding officers of an invasion, which they cloak behind globalist/equalist jargon. Probably the Feds' reaction will be to treat this as a law enforcement matter, but a military response would be perfectly justified, after all that's what actual sovereign nations do.

Thanks to peterike‘s link, I can see that it turns out the “refugees” are hiring trains and trucks (or more likely the American organizers are hiring them), so it will be much sooner than five weeks when they reach the border. But the question remains, Texas (closer) or California (weaker)?

For five days now hundreds of Central Americans — children, women, and men, most of them from Honduras — have boldly crossed immigration checkpoints, military bases, and police in a desperate, sometimes chaotic march toward the United States. Despite their being in Mexico without authorization, no one has made any effort to stop them.

no one has made any effort to stop them.

That's kinda the whole point of the Mexicans doing nothing to stop them.

Some Mexican sites have even agreed with Trump’s “wall” and called for stronger border controls on their southern border.

India, of course, has a “shoot to kill” policy on their border with Bangladesh. The peaceful Buddhists in Myanmar are famously aggressively deporting the Rohingya after a series of conflicts with them living in Myanmar. China is notoriously ethno-centric… The wealthy arabs in the Gulf States have refused to accept any Arab Muslims of the same race, ethnicity, and religion, and prefer to import large numbers of temporary guest workers who don’t ever get full rights of citizenship or basic legal equality with citizens.

  95. Just a broad observation: VDH should have mentioned somewhere that from ancient times until WW2, invading armies relied as much on INFORMATION about targets, as on strength and military prowess. Maps, surveillance, etc were what made invasions suceed or fail.

A bunch of gypsies armed with smart-phones are now as dangerous as any pre-WW2 invading army. Hannibal crossing the Alps or whatever has nothing on them. Build walls or we’re doomed.

This should put to rest the notion promoted by the Pew Center that immigration from Mexico is essentially over, and thus no border barrier is needed. Of course the Pew Center only bases its conclusion on data from about the past 5 years, and concludes that there might be at present time more Mexicans heading home than coming here.

I've seen a few opponents using this as proof that a wall is a waste now. However, they never take into consideration that Mexico is just one natural disaster or economic upheaval away from another chaotic exodus. And now it is right out in the open that the Mexican government will do absolutely nothing to stop the flow of migrants using Mexico as a transit to the USA.

From Mexico's point of view this is stupid. They might have waited out the wall because the cucks in Congress have been able to squash the demands of the people who elected Trump. From a game theory perspective, it is quite stupid of the Mexican government to allow this.

This should put to rest the notion promoted by the Pew Center that immigration from Mexico is essentially over, and thus no border barrier is needed.

Pew Research says that illegal immigration is negative. Noah Smith writes that there are more illegal migrants people moving south out of the US, than moving into the US. I find this completely ridiculous… I haven’t dug through all the data and the statistical tricks they are using, but on the surface, the argument is too absurd. I suspect this is a blatant dishonesty used for strategic and ideological reasons.

From your publish button to the ears of the great and the good, but first we will have to explain to law school graduates that the Lazarus poem is not a Constitutional article. BBC radio has an piece a few months ago about using drones to deliver medicine to remote places. We can give these people everything they need in their own country, so ending asylum (and talk to a good leftist journalist about what asylum has often really meant: a protection program for war criminals) is hardly heartless.

Of course, admitting Somalis is about destroying middle America, not about helping them. The ones coming here don’t even seem happy, but cause over a million dollars of damage per family to our nation. That million could feed and clothe hundreds of families in Africa.

You might think that the bad guy on his big day would make a show of harmlessness, but if it's the case that they really are guileless (which is partly borne out by the totalitarian and Bergeronian aspects of Islam) then the scowlers really are the likely bad guy set. That pair especially shows off this psychopathic superiority -- tired disdain rather than hot hate -- which is consistent with that mindset. Of course, admitting Somalis is about destroying middle America, not about helping them. The ones coming here don't even seem happy, but cause over a million dollars of damage per family to our nation. That million could feed and clothe hundreds of families in Africa.

Seriously, usually when I see a Muslim in the USA they have a sour look or sneer on their face. Mexicans, SE Asians and Jamaicans are at least often cheerful.

I was briefly at a base entry checkpoint in a sandy place and there was this too-easy truism among the guards that Arabs have no capacity for Costanzacy. The truck drivers delivering construction supplies were invariably cheerful and friendly (and had American flags rather frenetically displayed in their cabs), or they scowled righteous death, no inbetween, no off days or variations. You might think that the bad guy on his big day would make a show of harmlessness, but if it’s the case that they really are guileless (which is partly borne out by the totalitarian and Bergeronian aspects of Islam) then the scowlers really are the likely bad guy set.

Without the infrastructure in place to control immigration, we can pass any laws we want but they won’t have any effect. Many people in power are quite determined to undermine immigration restrictions and to expand the rights to migrate to the US and Europe. But beyond that he’s done nothing in terms of immigration which is the most critical issue facing the U.S. The U.S. is on the verge of becoming a single party country at the rate demographics are changing thanks to immigration.

You realize that that squalid pack of Hondurans coming through Mexico is a trial run. If Trump fails to turn them back, that 1500 will turn into a million the next time.

Mexico is no more unified then the United States. Messing with the current government and causing it to lose power is in the interest of people who desire to take their seats.

Agreed. The Mexican Left loves this, would show Peña Nieto is a clown that has the country in disorder, and that the country needs a strong populist leftie leader that also stands up to Trump – enter AMLO.

  139. @AndrewR

Agreed, though I’d follow the Putin model of supporting Latin right wing populists, as opposed to the Clinton-Bush model of supporting rich Latin globalists that tend to lose to Latin populist Marxists and/or enable them. Easier said than done, but can happen. Has to be undercover and/or somewhat subdued, as they still remember Teddy’s Big Stick and all that – though likewise there is enough people who hate socialism due to watching Venezuela unfold, and therefore there may be hope for the region. Do hope Camp des Saints doesnt happen before that… else I do fear invasion might be needed eventually.

  140. @Doug

  141. @(((Owen)))

But look at the Europe-Turkey arrangement. Turkey gets billions to keep refugees in border camps instead of waving them on. These camps cost millions to maintain. Then Turkey demands more billions. (At least, that was the situation the last time I looked)

Worth every penny. If México would take our billions to stop Central Americans, that would be a bargain, too.

Except Mexicans accept the billions (NAFTA et al) and keep them coming anyway. No givesies backsies.

  142. @Massimo Heitor

This should put to rest the notion promoted by the Pew Center that immigration from Mexico is essentially over, and thus no border barrier is needed.

Pew Research says that illegal immigration is negative. Noah Smith writes that there are more illegal migrants people moving south out of the US, than moving into the US. I find this completely ridiculous... I haven't dug through all the data and the statistical tricks they are using, but on the surface, the argument is too absurd. I suspect this is a blatant dishonesty used for strategic and ideological reasons.

Pew is a lefty outfit pretending to be non-partisan and disinterested. They were behind the supposedly grass roots campaign to pass campaign finance reform. One of their people even bragged afterwards about what an astro turf operation it really was. Of course, it helped that they had John McCain (Rino) leading the charge, and the feckless GW Bush who signed it after promising not to beforehand.

Probably the Feds' reaction will be to treat this as a law enforcement matter, but a military response would be perfectly justified, after all that's what actual sovereign nations do.

It is simple how Trump could have won on immigration if he actually cared. Trump could have said he isn't signing any budget or tax cut without serious immigration concessions. If the Democrats and Ryanists dont agree, oh well oh well, the non essential federal workforce that is 20% black and 80% democrats lose their jobs and have to take their talents to the private sector. Trump's unilateral tariff authority gives him a great deal of additional leverage. And at least naturalization and visa admissions would grind to a halt.

I am so f***ing done with all this college s***. I've worked my ass off the past 3 years of H.S. but am s*** at SAT/ACT/WOFBSSTISA (Whatever other bull s*** standardized test I suck at) At this point college seems like a f***ing circle jerk of debt collecting 20 somethings that just waste their time getting drunk and partying only to graduate 4 or more years later to find every job that they are qualified for either A. No longer exists because of automation or B.) They need 5 years of experience for a minimum wage entry level job with 0 benefits.

And get this. My non-binary genderfluid guardian figure "Maddy" came into my room to bring me a plate of chicken nuggets and I literally screamed at xer and hit the plate of chicken nuggets out of xer hand. Xe started yelling and swearing at me and I slammed the door on xer. I’m so distressed right now I don’t know what to do. I didn’t mean to do that to Maddy but I’m literally in shock from my SAT results tonight. I feel like I’m going to explode. Why the f***ing f*** should one piece of paper determine what college I get into? This can’t be happening. I’m having a f***ing breakdown. I don’t want to believe the world is so unfair. I want a future to believe in. I wanted to be able to get into Harvard (or at least maybe Yale) since I was 5. I cannot f***ing deal with this right now. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, I thought if I followed in Deep State Dad's footsteps betraying my people as a crisis actor I would be rewarded with admission to one of the 47% of 2037 slots that white people have to compete extra hard for at Harvard???? This is so f***ed.

Lot of anti-Trump comments here. You idiots do realize that but for Donald Trump, HILLARY CLINTON would be your President right now? With a majority liberal Supreme Court for decades? Trump can do almost anything at this point and he would still be the best president of my lifetime just by virtue of NOT being Hillary Clinton. May God bless Donald Trump.

Nothing enrages me more on this board then seeing commentators bash Trump on immigration. These folks have no concept of political realites and the forces arrayed against him even within his own party. Yet he has, in little over a year, made changes to immigration policy and debate that I never thought would happen.

Interior deportations are up. Refugees are down so much so some refugee shops are shutting down. Every TPS renewal that has come up for renewal under Trump has been terminated. This column from Central America won’t set foot in the USA.

    Agreed, 100%.

Trump is doing an excellent, but not perfect job. He still may lose due to the dedication of the immigration expansionists, but he's making good, genuine moves.

Ann Coulter is just holding Trumps' feet to the fire, and pressuring him to fulfill his campaign promises. She knows Trump was the best candidate she could ask for, but is pressuring him to follow through, which isn't unreasonable.

I tend to assume someone in authority in Mexico, whether de facto or de jure, is going to use the minimum amount of force (or not) that's necessary in order to prevent this.

To say this would be a triumph for Trumpian nationalism, is almost an understatement. There's no way this Wagontrain of the Saints will be tolerated. But I wish I was wrong, because it would be such a glorious opportunity to devastatingly defeat the left. Bummer.

All of this hand wringing and there is no way this group makes it to the border much less the USA.

  172. @Doug

    • Replies: @Anon
Asylum claims from Central Americans are only rarely approved. The problem is that we need a streamlined system for disposing of the claims. Attorneys routinely coach their clients to claim asylum to gain time. They'll generally say they were intimidated by gangs (hey, move to another neighborhood, in your own country!). Taking "gang intimidation" off the list of asylum justifications would go a long way. They should have to supply documentation that they sought help in their home countries, and that they contacted the U.S. Consulate in their home countries.

I've given up on Trump, but one thing he could have done was to set up a fast track immigration court system. We have a vaccine court. We need an asylum and refuge court, in and out, appeal the next day, on the bus home on day 3.

Nope. Just don’t let them in. (Dispatch an army division to the border to help out if necessary.)

Let them create a big slum on the Mexican side of the border. Sure the “news” media will try and whip up the “humanitarian” crisis thing. All Trump has to do is–ignoring the whimps and whiners around him–stay strong and say “Everyone in the world does not have the right to live in the United States… anymore than everyone has the right to live in your house. The right to live in America belongs to American citizens, no one else.”

This is fundamentally Mexico’s problem. They created it by letting these folks march through their territory, let them deal with it. It will be an object lesson to Mexico and a lot of other folks.

Trump being strong–actually not even “strong”, just doing what nations are supposed to do–will be a great boosts for nationalists in Europe as well. This is potentially a terrific win-win.

There is nearly universal support in Israel for deporting the “refugees,” or “infiltrators” as they referred to by the papers here. The only opposition comes from a lunatic fringe, heavily left-wing American immigrant, which, alas, has allies on the Supreme Court. (Sound familiar?) I’ve never heard of a pilot refusing to fly them.

  195. @J.Ross
The Israelis are allowed to do whatever they want at any time, will never face any kind of justice, and work day and night to avoid facing so much as criticism. That is OK if you allow people with legitimate entry visas as well, but otherwise you invite reciprocation for no particular gain. For example no-one from a neutral country would be able to enter the US on a flight routed through Mexixo City and I am sure the airlines would have a fit.

But yes, I see no reason why people who don't have legal documentation with right of entry to the US should be allowed to cross the border at all. Just send them back, or screen them for refugee status at an embassy or consulate in Tijuana. This does not even require a wall, the existing fence will keep most people out who don't have a lot of money to pay to coyotes to smuggle them in.

David Hogg on the SAT from The_Donald

I am so f***ing done with all this college s***. I’ve worked my ass off the past 3 years of H.S. but am s*** at SAT/ACT/WOFBSSTISA (Whatever other bull s*** standardized test I suck at) At this point college seems like a f***ing circle jerk of debt collecting 20 somethings that just waste their time getting drunk and partying only to graduate 4 or more years later to find every job that they are qualified for either A. No longer exists because of automation or B.) They need 5 years of experience for a minimum wage entry level job with 0 benefits.

And get this. My non-binary genderfluid guardian figure “Maddy” came into my room to bring me a plate of chicken nuggets and I literally screamed at xer and hit the plate of chicken nuggets out of xer hand. It wasn’t supposed to be like this, I thought if I followed in Deep State Dad’s footsteps betraying my people as a crisis actor I would be rewarded with admission to one of the 47% of 2037 slots that white people have to compete extra hard for at Harvard???? This is so f***ed.

Last time I looked the UN definition of refugee ceased when they reached the first country where they had no reasonable fear of persecution.

    That would be Mexici, No?

Good point — one that I often forget about. Thanks for the reminder.

  205. @Kevin O'Keeffe

Bummer.

The left sees it it as a very clever propaganda and political tool to make the Republicans look evil and heartless.

Because they don’t care. The purpose of them is to destroy the old white America.

  208. Meanwhile in Austria:

Austrian migrant play dubbed ‘propaganda,’ canceled after outrage

In 2018, “outrage” is code for “imperious desire to suppress something that might cause thoughts not fitting a narrative”.

The play tells a story of two asylum seekers in Austria: well-educated Nadim from Syria and money-motivated Mojo, who arrived from somewhere in Africa. For unknown reasons, the writers preferred not to name Mojo’s country of origin.

The motivations of main characters are shown in sharp contrast. Nadim flees his home country because of the raging war. He works hard to integrate into the Austrian society and studies German. At the end of the play, he receives his award – he is granted asylum.

By contrast, Mojo, who also happens to be a voodoo practitioner, is driven purely by money. He flees his country after watching several YouTube videos that claim refugees in Europe get cars, houses and a hefty sum of €6,000 ($7,400). However, his asylum application is rejected and he fails to get easy money. Finally, he falls under the influence of Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIS) and is deported by the Austrian authorities.

There is ultimately a happy ending for Mojo as well, however, as he starts a family and a business in his home country, and escapes the clutches of the terrorists.

    Sounds good? Not so!

However, the majority of critics didn’t share this enthusiasm for the ‘Welt in Bewegung.’ One unnamed teacher who watched the play said that it had ‘put years of integration in danger.’

“What the play is about is what the ministry ordered. It’s actually not a play, it’s indoctrination supposed to result in thinking the right way,” Gerhard Ruiss, the head of the IG-Autoren writers’ collective, added.

So the author’s guild is of the opinion that only the right right way is the right way, but the bad right way is right out.

According to director and political activist Tina Leisch, the Interior Ministry commissioned a “racist, poorly written” play, which turned out to be “the stupidest propaganda.” “It is a rape of what theater or art should be, and that is a call to thought, and not to say, ‘We are the ministry, and we are beating children over the head with our political positions,’” she said.

These positions are unlike the other positions, and thus inconvenient.

Interior Ministry spokesman Alexander Marakovits insisted that the play “has nothing to do with propaganda.” “This is just about conveying information,” Marakovits told Oe1.

Too much information apparently. Thus outrage.

Bro, there is no 2024. Any loss by our side going forward completely seals America to its fate of being open borders.

My only hope is that this march succeeds and they organize a 100,000 person march. Get people to our side from the center by extreme measures or else we are just a frog in the pot.

This march is the best thing we could have hoped for. Shit, I want to help organize a larger one.

It would be bad, but if we can hold one house of congress and the supreme court, we can veto major attempts at demographic change by the Dems like Obama’s second DAPA amnesty was blocked.

Hillary doing executive order amnesties and replacing Scalia so the Supreme Court couldn’t block her would truely have been the end with a likely Merkel level immediate influx of a million central americans plus many thousands of Africans and Arabs doing visa overstays.

Including, of course, all trucks boats, and planes.

One simple approach would fix this crap.

Cease all border entries from Mexico to any-one without a US Passport or Greencard.

That is OK if you allow people with legitimate entry visas as well, but otherwise you invite reciprocation for no particular gain. For example no-one from a neutral country would be able to enter the US on a flight routed through Mexixo City and I am sure the airlines would have a fit.

But yes, I see no reason why people who don’t have legal documentation with right of entry to the US should be allowed to cross the border at all. Just send them back, or screen them for refugee status at an embassy or consulate in Tijuana. This does not even require a wall, the existing fence will keep most people out who don’t have a lot of money to pay to coyotes to smuggle them in.

He still may lose due to the dedication of the immigration expansionists, but he’s making good, genuine moves.
