The first 95 seconds of this clip aren’t too entertaining, but the last 5 seconds are great. A commenter points out:

That’s either good fortune or excellent editing from Titania: the stern lesbian lecturing about how all men are bastards, po-faced Hollywood feminists applauding, until one of them notices something interesting – a friend? a celebrity? her face on the Jumbotron – and then OMG!!!

Screenshot 2018-12-08 03.08.06Actresses …

I’m reminded of the one really good scene in J.J. Abrams’ 2012 Spielberg-tribute movie Super Eight about some 13 year old boys making a zombie movie in 1979. They draft a classmate played by Elle Fanning to play the detective hero’s wife. They give her a speech to read, and by the end the boys are all gaping, having really noticed, for the first time in their lives so far, that in this world there are actresses / girls / shiksas who will obsess them and cause them no end of trouble for the next few decades.

  10. As an Australian, I most humbly apologise for the existence of this “sapphic preacher”.

The only defence I can mount is that it was an American company, Netflix, that chose to expose her unequalled talent to the rest of the world after Australia had endured her for many years.

Her television series earned a 100 per cent approval rating from critics (according to Rotten Tomatoes), which says far more about the critics than it does about her talent.

  14. Her recent success is mind-boggling. She’s been on Australian TV for ten or fifteen years, and in all that time never made anyone laugh.

Incidentally, “ten or fifteen years” is the most common answer to the question, “How long does it feel like Hannah Gadsby’s been talking?”

Also: “How much time would you rather serve in prison than watch an entire Hannah Gadsby set?”

I suppose it’s possible that she got better at comedy. Lots of artists take a long time to fully mature. But they generally display some evidence of talent beforehand, which she never did. (Speaking of “never” – in order to test this hypothesis, I’d have to actually watch her Netflix special, which, well…)

I think our wise masters must have reached some new depth of boring. They were always willing to trade some artistic or entertainment value for the right message. But the level of entertainment in their entertainment is getting dangerously low. (Sidebar: I sense meme potential there.)

I’m surprised more people have not noticed the series American Horror Story. It’s pretty much a feminist hero tale, but done as a horror series. The 2017 season was so unintentionally funny, I nearly hurt myself laughing. It’s about a fictional town in the aftermath of the Trump election. The woke women are written so well, you suspect it is an elaborate satire, but it’s not.

Kind of ironic that this woman who is so anti-man takes such care to present herself in a masculine way…

Obviously, women never make massive mistakes that result in social turmoil or violence, like inviting in 1 million plus ‘refugee’s that are mostly young men, or deciding a North African dictator should be overthrown with the result that Islamic fundamentalist militias start an orgy of killing and raping.

  49. As one Hannah to another, have you ever noticed that throughout history, each and every matriarchal society has been conquered by a patriarchal society? 100% of the time. There are none left on earth. So you want the West to be under the control of women? And true socialism has always failed too, so I imagine you want to go socialist too. Wow, talk about having a death wish. If it was for you alone that would be one thing, but now you want to drag the rest of us down too.

  50. @Anonymous

    That’s not a comedy skit. That’s a sermon.

But it’s a damn good sermon, in a purely rhetorical sense.

The foundational logic of this woman’s underlying argument is absurd; she’s as ugly as a warthog’s anus and approaching the embonpoint of a land whale; and she is definitely not a comedian nor, to use standard prog cant, is she the least bit funny.

But, all that said, she gives a damn good stump speech, better than almost all our home-grown politicians and supposed orators. The only contemporary speech I’ve heard that matches the rhetorical effectiveness of this snippet is the stump speech that Stephen Miller regularly gave during Donald Trump’s recent presidential campaign. To give appropriate additional credit to Miller, unlike this woman’s, his speech is based on facts and logic

Patton is lost to the ages, but I still give Chapelle a pass, as I know he’s navigating waters with extremely nasty currents, and intellectually, he still seems to operate with some integrity.

Poor Norm MacDonald was depressing to watch when he got on his knees and cried like a woman for forgiveness from his Netflix Overlords for remarks about #metoo and retards. Unfortunately, he has an insane gambling problem, blew a lot of his paychecks, which has made him desperate for money. Last I heard, he lives in a condo behind The Grove. Next door to his mom! He lost a LOT of money gambling over the years.

At least Chappell has a good stash of “fuck you” money, so he does what he wants without having to get on his knees and beg like poor Norm. It’s never fun to see someone’s spirit broken. And again, Chappelle’s smart enough not to get himself in that situation to begin with, and I respect that.

He and Seinfeld are probably the smartest comedians we have now. I’d hate to lose either of them, as a fan, because one of them said “retard.” I hope Norm can get back on his feet, and achieve the Herculean task of earning his self-respect back.
