From my new book review in Taki’s Magazine:

It’s informative to compare two current memoirs focused upon race: the rapturously welcomed Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates, which I reviewed a week ago, and The Coloring Book: A Comedian Solves Race Relations in America by the veteran Irish-American comic Colin Quinn, last seen stealing the movie Trainwreck as Amy Schumer’s father.

Americans all claim to be fascinated by diversity, but the popularity of Coates’ old-fashioned black-white tunnel vision demonstrates once again that the conventional wisdom hasn’t become more sophisticated in the past half century. It’s always that Selma bridge in 1965.

In contrast, around 1966 the 7-year-old Quinn’s family moved to Brooklyn’s deteriorating Park Slope, then one of the most ethnically mixed (and junkie-infested) spots in America.

He loved it.

Read the whole thing there.

Here’s a picture of Park Slope in the 1970 Hal Ashby movie The Landlord starring Beau Bridges, shot when Quinn was about 11:

And here’s the exact same view in 2011:

  1. Worlds colliding. Well done Steve. I deserved a mention though.

  2. Colin Quinn is great. During the year or two that I’ve been on twitter, I’ve followed various comedians and explored ‘weird twitter’ but he’s the only celebrity-type I still follow and often retweet. That late night talk show he had for a while, Tough Crowd, was also excellent and uniquely…heartfelt or something. He captures/projects a certain humanity, as often comedians are stereotyped as being sociopathic or being pathologically immature, but he seems to be normal & compassionate besides being very funny. Great review, I’m looking forward to the book and the movie.

  3. Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas.

    Actual example:

The Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center is located in Dayton, Ohio and was built in 2003 to serve as Dayton’s key performance arts center. Architect Cesar Pelli created a world-class 2,300-seat theatre that has fiber optic lights in the dome ceiling that depict the Dayton sky as it appeared on the eve before the Wright brothers’ first flight, December 16, 1903. The Winter Garden houses exotic palm trees and a cafe with a large glass-enclosed wall that overlooks downtown Dayton.

Since its opening, the Schuster Center has hosted a number of top plays, including Wicked, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Beauty and the Beast.

    Right, musicals are "culture".

I was just in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where I saw the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts.
  4. Coates knows white Libs and is really resentful of them. Big cities are dominated by white Libs.

But he depends on them for his job, so vilifies some abstract notion of people who see themselves as white.

  5. Without Jews, US culture would be Branson?

Without whites, Jewish culture would be yarmulke knitting.

  7. Colin Quinn = Celtic alpha
    Martin O’Malley = Celtic beta

  8. Colin Quinn is both politically incorrect and optimistic at the same time, which is an interesting combo. He is racially aware, but at the same time he has at least 1 nice thing to say about every racial and ethnic group, even the groups who are overrepresented when it comes to committing crime.

Ta-Nehisi Coates would NEVER in a million years say a single positive thing about White people the way Colin Quinn managed to think of one positive thing to say about Blacks. Nehisi is one angry bitter Negro.

Even Steve Sailer managed to say one nice thing about Blacks as I remember he said he believes Blacks in the U.S are more likely to read books than Mexicans. Mexicans hate reading books even more than African Americans do.

    • Replies: @Chris Anderson
Actually, Steve has had other good things to say about American blacks including athleticism, high sociability that makes them adept at jobs like sales, and a cultural resistance to some of the SJW excesses like World War G and World War T. That's just off the top of my head - I'm sure there are others.
    , @Harry Baldwin
Heck, even Jared Taylor has good things to say about blacks:

There's a lot I like about blacks too. What kind of person won't give credit where credit is due?

  10. And the buildings still have 3/4″ thick, closely spaced iron bars, embedded in the brownstone over ever window within human reach.

That was what I hated about NYC: the feeling I was living in a prison cell whenever I looked out the windows of my ground floor apartment. It felt like Mexico, with its broken glass shards mortared onto the top of every garden wall.

  11. Mike Zwick [AKA "Dahinda"] says:

“It’s always that Selma bridge in 1965” I always tell the extreme liberals that they think that it is permanently 1968.

“Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas.” True in Western Illinois as well.

  12. that Selma bridge in 1965

Efforts are underway to rename the bridge. That doesn’t make a lot of sense if you want to maintain your icons and monuments.

BTW, you haven’t said so, but you seem to disagree with Slate’s opinion that T. Coates is a polymath.

  13. Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas.

Is a library a “cultural center”? Andrew Carnegie was responsible for building about half the libraries in the US.

  14. “White people do exciting shit boring, and black people do boring shit exciting. We will skateboard volcanoes and base-jump off a canyon but cause someone to fall asleep when we explain it to them.”

And yet you wonder if one requires the other, if the two traits are inherently linked. White people tell true, boring tales about skateboarding volcanoes and base-jumping off canyons because they lived to tell about it, and living required a certain self-control, intelligence, and ability to predict and avoid complications. It required a dispassionate assessment of the risks and devising means to avert them or protect against them.

If Darnell and Shantavius Wright had attempted flying at Kittyhawk in 19-0-nothing they might have told a truly awesome tale, except that they wouldn’t have lived to tell about it.

  15. “Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas.”

Jews may have more monuments named after them relative to their share of the population, but not necessarily to their share of the big fortunes. L.A. has a huge Jewish population, but the biggest monuments there that come to mind are named after Getty and Disney – neither Jews, SFAIK. The Waltons (who, I admit, don’t seem to have made especially large charitable contributions) built a nice, big art museum in Arkansas – one that gets more visitor bang for its buck than the Getty – but it was a half-Jewish guy, Bill Maher, who called it ‘waste’ because it’s built in Nowheresville, Arkansas rather than someplace like L.A.

The biggest discrepancy in terms of community philanthropy isn’t Jew vs. non-Jew. The South, especially, seems to suffer from a lack of public-spiritedness, perhaps in part because in the South public-spiritedness often means helping blacks, and blacks tend to ruin so much, and because they’ve taken over the central cities where public-spiritedness and a willingness to invest in the community is most often expressed.

    • Replies: @Clifford Brown
Jews are incredibly prominent in the Los Angeles charitable art world. The Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena and the Geffen Contemporary in Downtown LA are named after Jewish donors. The 800 pound gorilla in the Los Angeles art world is developer Eli Broad. Broad not only built the latest wing to LACMA, but he is building his own eponymous art museum right next to Disney on Grand Avenue.

I don't know anything about the Walton Museum, but the Getty is a stellar museum and research institution. I think people tend to downplay the art because the views from the balconies and gardens are so enthralling.
  16. Good observation about Jews always asking relevant questions. In my experience, the Orthodox Jews are especially good at it.

  17. Colin Quinn’s show about the history of humanity, “Long Story Short,” is available in its entirety on YouTube and well-worth a listen. I really enjoy Quinn’s brand of thoughtful comedy.

  18. Anon • Disclaimer says:

“I’m cautious with this section, because I know that Jews are the only ones who are actually going to read this book.”

What a crock of crap. He’s cautious cuz Jews can destroy his career.

“In his view, Jews dominate the media today because “They’re the only ones who care.””

What a lot of ass-kissing. Jews have so much money, power, and influence because they are the only ones who care. Oh, how cute.

More like they are the only ones who care to destroy and blacklist anyone they don’t like. Ask Rick Sanchez. He cared about journalism, but he isn’t allowed anywhere near MSM anymore.

Colin the dufus acknowledges Jews do control the media, but then comes up with a Muppet Show excuse. Only Jews caaaaaaare.

Yeah, WE don’t care about the news and stuff.

But there are plenty of Alt Right people who care about the truth and news. But where are they in MSM? It seems Jews CARE to have them blacklisted. In other words, Jews hate their enemies and rivals(or perceived rivals)more than their enemies and rivals hate Jews.

“Without them the whole country would be like Branson, Missouri. Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas.”

But much of the country is like Hollywood and Las Vegas because of Jewish control. Materialism and hedonism all over the place. And besides, most cultural centers today promote junk trashy art of post-modernism.

“The Jewish critical attitude is key. Jews encourage each other to offer well-considered judgments on quality:
‘Jews only listen to other Jews anyway, so this is falling on deaf ears, I realize that…. Their big word with each other is ‘recommendation.’ Do you recommend we go see that show? You say it was a good resort but would you recommend it?’”

ROTFL. Jews have a critical attitude but don’t listen to anyone but themselves. What does this mean? Jews love to criticize/critique others but can’t stand any people doing it to them. Jews love to play doctor and probe and diagnose goyim, but goyim better not play doctor on Jews?

How can a people who only listen to each other be truly critical in the fullest sense? Jews are curious about the world but paranoid about how the world feels about Jews. They only to hear praise and get paranoid about the faintest whiff of criticism.

And this ‘recommend’ business. What people don’t recommend stuff? Even the dumbest Negro be recommending this bucket of chicken, that rap song, this movie, that TV show, and etc.
And given what has become of culture criticism, I don’t think Jews care much about quality anymore. Jews care more about quantity of money and influence that can be gained from whatever happens to be ‘hot’.
Jews care more about being in the game than making something really good. It’s like the movie The Player by Altman. The main thing is to be a player in the industry. And if it means making stuff like Flashdance, that is what Jews really care about.
To be sure, goyim are also into the game more than anything else these days. George Lucas started out as a personal artist in the early 70s, making stuff like THX 1138. He made STAR WARS to make some dough to do personal stuff, but then soon only got involved with stuff that will keep him in the game: Indiana Jones and Star Wars movies.

“They have to understand how the system is set up. To get anywhere you have to incessantly ask for explanations…. Jews are here to remind us that it’s okay to ask Why?”

Wow, can you imagine that? Jews invented the wonders of ‘asking’. Why, I never thought to ask anyone anything until I read that. Gentile Americans fell behind Jews because they don’t ask questions. ROTFL.

Btw, if Jews really love the art of asking questions, why do they get so pissed and vengeful when we ask questions about their influence, power, privilege, and etc?

    Such as…

    why are Zionists oppressing Palestinians?

why is there a Jewish War on Russia?

why did Jews promote the ‘gay agenda’?

why do Jews piss on whites but then expect whites to be their main defenders or cucks?

why do Jews yammer so much about equality and diversity when they are the most exclusive and unequal people in America?

why do Jews make all sorts of general observations/criticism of other groups but get so antsy when others do the same to Jews?

It’s not so much that Jews ask questions. It’s that they monopolize asking questions and also have the power to demand the right kinds of answers that they want to hear.

And despite Colin’s phony bravado, he offers nothing but sweet nothings for Jewish ears. Sure, there is a bit of pretend-criticism, as about Mel Gibson, but the book is mostly one-long ass-kissing.

I mean Wow, guess what, fellas? Jews are so rich because they ‘care’ and ‘ask questions’.

Wasn’t there a Jewish article about a well-meaning Christian who cared and asked a Jew about the meaning of Talmud so he could better understand Jews and get along with them? And what kind of answer did he get?

Sure, Jews ask questions, but then so do Negroes.

Why honkeys got all dat shit?

    Why we po’?

Why Tyson done bite the dude’s ear? He not have lunch?

Why dat ho not go out with me?

Why white dude shot the gentle giant?

How much your bling cost, homey?

    Why why why?

Jews ask better questions cuz they’re smarter, and we have to take IQ into account, something Colin doesn’t seem to.

Colin’s stuff about Jews is like saying blacks excel in basketball cuz they dribble and shoot. But why are they faster dribblers and better at getting near the hoop? They are naturally faster.

    ———

There seems to be a Seinfeld connection. Seinfeld’s joke about ‘greatest guy in the world’ and ‘never heard of him’ — 1st in sprint and 2nd in sprint — actually say something about the Jewish mentality. Jews think in terms of winner-takes-all. Because Jews worked in the most competitive fields where you either won the world or lost the world, they are more ruthless and pitiless in what they do. In life, there are endeavors where everyone gets something. But there are endeavors where one gets all and others get nothing. The Kennedy – Nixon race was close as hell, but the winner got it all, loser got nothing. Same with Bush-Gore race.
So, even a handful of votes out of so many could decide the outcome where one got all, other got nothing. It’s like the difference between gold and silver in the Olympics.

Not all of life is like that. If you enter engineering, there are jobs for lots of people. But there are enterprises and pursuits where the winner does indeed take it all and gains monopoly. And Jews worked in many such industries where market share and connections were everything.

If one candidate gets 51% of the vote and the other gets 49% of the vote, and if the winner gets 51% of the power and the loser gets 49% of the power, losing isn’t so bad.
But if the winner gets 100% of the power even though he won by the slimmest margins, even the slightest things matter. God is in the details.

The idea of the penny-pinching Jew isn’t really about stinginess but about the awareness that even the slightest sum can make the difference between survival/victory and extinction/death.
This is also true of certain wars. A battle can be really close, but the winning side the victor and takes the land and gains all the prisoners. There were many close battles between Nazis and Soviets, but Soviets won the big ones–even if barely–and winning even by the slightest margins meant winning everything.

Jews understand this better than anyone because they worked in industries where the slightest edge could mean the difference between winning all and losing all.

A Russian peasant who worked on the farm and grew potatoes didn’t think in those terms. As long as he had land under his feet, he could grow something, eat some of it, and send the rest to the market. Whether he competed or not, he had the land under his feet and potatoes growing on it if he worked the land.
But the Jewish merchant had only competition itself as his livelihood. And given the cutthroat nature of business, he had to win out against others, even if by the slimmest margins. And that would make the difference in who got to win and who got to lose.

If one farmer has more land than the next farmer, they both got land and got something. Even the farmer with less land has enough food and enough stuff to sell on the market.

But to a merchant, even the slimmest margin in market share can eventually lead to winning over all the customers and destroying all other businesses.

It’s no wonder that Steven Pinker started out his essay on Jewish intelligence with his grandfather who took over leftover fabric to make another tie. Most people would have thrown away that stuff as leftover fabric. But the man made another tie for extra profit. He was heir to a tradition where gaining even the slightest edge could mean the difference between survival/victory and loss/extinction.

“In his view, Jews dominate the media today because “They’re the only ones who care.”

I doubt it's what you are driving at, but I think there is some truth to this.

Look I'd like to be wealthy like anyone else. But it would drive me insane to have to deal with show biz personalities. I mean apparently you can't tell a star to take a big glass of STFU and get his butt on stage

Would you really care to run a news department and report on nothing (my estimation based on the very rare occasions I watch network news)?

Sometimes I wonder how about how much NYC has shaped Jews. Obviously they've been an important presence there since before 1900 and have shaped both that city and American life.

But I wonder how much being in that city which was ... pretty much the center of everything except for a few industries (back when the US did "industries"), shaped them.

Would we have cliches about Jewish showbiz agents or the like if they had gone to Baltimore for some reason instead of New York? Seems to me NYC would have been what it was regardless of Jewish immigration, though you might argue about the extent of it's pre-1960 or so dominance. The Theatre business centered there, radio, and TV for a while. Obviously the stock market and financial industry.

But would Jews have turned out exactly the same way without NYC?

Anon, Re The Jewish Question: Look further into history to understand the deep antipathies of native populations and their itinerants and immigrants.

The Jews in the Pale and elsewhere around eastern Europe provided many valuable services and sometimes ruffled some, or many, feathers. The Ashkenazim tended to be smarter in various dimensionalities than the Hungarians, Romanians, Ukranians, Russians, Poles, Czechs and their antecedent peoples (Magyars et al). For a voluntarily and often involuntarily segregated people, they were subject to frequent wanderings, expulsions and other vagabondage, which was preferable the bondage from those initial desert wanderings. In the course of countless intercultural sharing opportunities, they paid attention to local customs and behaviors, and acted as information brokers including negotiations for their own lives, livelihoods and freedoms. Skills get sharpened that way.

Some local folk took exception on occasion to the sharp negotiating skills, when they were left with the worse end of the bargain. That led to some bad feelings with the occasional pogrom or eviction. Lessons learned and a desire to survive led to the realization that attaching oneself to a fishing pole in a revenue stream would be a smart way to improve one's lot in life. Enter estate management for those Poles or Litvaks or Ukies or whomsoever needing some cash quickly, regardless of terms. Also enter tax farming for similar down on their luck illiquid nobles or countries. When the leasing terms and the interest rates got a little out of hand, more feathers were ruffled and that often meant an extended vacation for a few decades or centuries to let hurt feelings settle down. In the meantime, those information broker skills kept getting polished with each new country visited and each family network expanded. Such contacts come in handy over the long haul and, lamentably, as in any large group, there are a few bad apples to leave worse impressions.

Now if you were on the wrong end of a repossession, foreclosure or some other unpleasantness involving a kind of foreign merchant, then that experience got ingrained in your family and village lore. (You know how those stories are kept alive, as each culture has some: Watch out for the Turk, the wolf is at the door, or similar scariness). You wouldn’t be quite so keen to let your guard down again, or you could try to stay sober when negotiating to borrow money or to sign that new lease, if you could help it, but your offspring might not be so lucky if they kept inbreeding with the slower locals and had to learn the hard way several more times, if there was any learning at all. Such is life in a static environment of mean reversion.

Pushing now-unfashionable behaviors a few standard deviations from the mean led to all that gnashing of teeth, pitchforkery, torching and all around homicidal behavior during the time of the Great Patriotic War, or as the West knows it, the Good War, or WWII. Once burned, twice shy seems to be a lesson learned by all parties, although not evenly.

why is there a Jewish War on Russia?

why did Jews promote the 'gay agenda'?

why do Jews piss on whites but then expect whites to be their main defenders or cucks?

why do Jews yammer so much about equality and diversity when they are the most exclusive and unequal people in America?

why do Jews make all sorts of general observations/criticism of other groups but get so antsy when others do the same to Jews?

It's not so much that Jews ask questions. It's that they monopolize asking questions and also have the power to demand the right kinds of answers that they want to hear.

And despite Colin's phony bravado, he offers nothing but sweet nothings for Jewish ears. Sure, there is a bit of pretend-criticism, as about Mel Gibson, but the book is mostly one-long ass-kissing.

I mean Wow, guess what, fellas? Jews are so rich because they 'care' and 'ask questions'.

Wasn't there a Jewish article about a well-meaning Christian who cared and asked a Jew about the meaning of Talmud so he could better understand Jews and get along with them? And what kind of answer did he get?

Sure, Jews ask questions, but then so do Negroes.

Why honkeys got all dat shit?

Why dat ho not go out with me?

How much your bling cost, homey?

    Why why why?

Jews ask better questions cuz they're smarter, and we have to take IQ into account, something Colin doesn't seem to.

Colin's stuff about Jews is like saying blacks excel in basketball cuz they dribble and shoot. But why are they faster dribblers and better at getting near the hoop? They are naturally faster.

There seems to be a Seinfeld connection. Seinfeld's joke about 'greatest guy in the world' and 'never heard of him' --- 1st in sprint and 2nd in sprint --- actually say something about the Jewish mentality. Jews think in terms of winner-takes-all. Because Jews worked in the most competitive fields where you either won the world or lost the world, they are more ruthless and pitiless in what they do. In life, there are endeavors where everyone gets something. But there are endeavors where one gets all and others get nothing. The Kennedy - Nixon race was close as hell, but the winner got it all, loser got nothing. Same with Bush-Gore race.
So, even a handful of votes out of so many could decide the outcome where one got all, other got nothing. It's like the difference between gold and silver in the Olympics.

Not all of life is like that. If you enter engineering, there are jobs for lots of people. But there are enterprises and pursuits where the winner does indeed take it all and gains monopoly. And Jews worked in many such industries where market share and connections were everything.

If one candidate gets 51% of the vote and the other gets 49% of the vote, and if the winner gets 51% of the power and the loser gets 49% of the power, losing isn't so bad.
But if the winner gets 100% of the power even though he won by the slimmest margins, even the slightest things matter. God is in the details.

The idea of the penny-pinching Jew isn't really about stinginess but about the awareness that even the slightest sum can make the difference between survival/victory and extinction/death.
This is also true of certain wars. A battle can be really close, but the winning side the victor and takes the land and gains all the prisoners. There were many close battles between Nazis and Soviets, but Soviets won the big ones--even if barely--and winning even by the slightest margins meant winning everything.

Jews understand this better than anyone because they worked in industries where the slightest edge could mean the difference between winning all and losing all.

A Russian peasant who worked on the farm and grew potatoes didn't think in those terms.

It's no wonder that Steven Pinker started out his essay on Jewish intelligence with his grandfather who took over leftover fabric to make another tie.

I doubt it’s what you are driving at, but I think there is some truth to this.

Look I’d like to be wealthy like anyone else. But it would drive me insane to have to deal with show biz personalities. I mean apparently you can’t tell a star to take a big glass of STFU and get his butt on stage

Would you really care to run a news department and report on nothing (my estimation based on the very rare occasions I watch network news)?

Sometimes I wonder how about how much NYC has shaped Jews. Obviously they’ve been an important presence there since before 1900 and have shaped both that city and American life.

But I wonder how much being in that city which was … pretty much the center of everything except for a few industries (back when the US did “industries”), shaped them.

Would we have cliches about Jewish showbiz agents or the like if they had gone to Baltimore for some reason instead of New York? Seems to me NYC would have been what it was regardless of Jewish immigration, though you might argue about the extent of it’s pre-1960 or so dominance. The Theatre business centered there, radio, and TV for a while. Obviously the stock market and financial industry.

But would Jews have turned out exactly the same way without NYC?

  23. @Anon
"I’m cautious with this section, because I know that Jews are the only ones who are actually going to read this book."

What a crock of crap. He's cautious cuz Jews can destroy his career.

"In his view, Jews dominate the media today because “They’re the only ones who care.”"

What a lot of ass-kissing. Jews have so much money, power, and influence because they are the only ones who care. Oh, how cute.

More like they are the only ones who care to destroy and blacklist anyone they don't like. Ask Rick Sanchez. He cared about journalism, but he isn't allowed anywhere near MSM anymore.

Colin the dufus acknowledges Jews do control the media, but then comes up with a Muppet Show excuse. Only Jews caaaaaaare.

Yeah, WE don't care about the news and stuff.

But there are plenty of Alt Right people who care about the truth and news. But where are they in MSM? It seems Jews CARE to have them blacklisted. In other words, Jews hate their enemies and rivals(or perceived rivals)more than their enemies and rivals hate Jews.

"Without them the whole country would be like Branson, Missouri. Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas."

But much of the country is like Hollywood and Las Vegas because of Jewish control. Materialism and hedonism all over the place. And besides, most cultural centers today promote junk trashy art of post-modernism.

"The Jewish critical attitude is key. Jews encourage each other to offer well-considered judgments on quality:
'Jews only listen to other Jews anyway, so this is falling on deaf ears, I realize that…. Their big word with each other is 'recommendation.' Do you recommend we go see that show? You say it was a good resort but would you recommend it?'"

ROTFL. Jews have a critical attitude but don't listen to anyone but themselves. What does this mean? Jews love to criticize/critique others but can't stand any people doing it to them.

And this 'recommend' business. What people don't recommend stuff? Even the dumbest Negro be recommending this bucket of chicken, that rap song, this movie, that TV show, and etc.
And given what has become of culture criticism, I don't think Jews care much about quality anymore. Jews care more about quantity of money and influence that can be gained from whatever happens to be 'hot'.
Jews care more about being in the game than making something really good. It's like the movie The Player by Altman.

"They have to understand how the system is set up. To get anywhere you have to incessantly ask for explanations…. Jews are here to remind us that it’s okay to ask Why?"

Wow, can you imagine that? Jews invented the wonders of 'asking'. Why, I never thought to ask anyone anything until I read that. Gentile Americans fell behind Jews because they don't ask questions. ROTFL.

Btw, if Jews really love the art of asking questions, why do they get so pissed and vengeful when we ask questions about their influence, power, privilege, and etc?

    Such as...

    why are Zionists oppressing Palestinians?

why is there a Jewish War on Russia?

why did Jews promote the 'gay agenda'?

why do Jews piss on whites but then expect whites to be their main defenders or cucks?

Lessons learned and a desire to survive led to the realization that attaching oneself to a fishing pole in a revenue stream would be a smart way to improve one’s lot in life.

The Benjamin and Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center is located in Dayton, Ohio and was built in 2003 to serve as Dayton's key performance arts center.

Since its opening, the Schuster Center has hosted a number of top plays, including Wicked, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Beauty and the Beast.

    http://www.schustercenter.org/

I was just in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, where I saw the Thelma Sadoff Center for the Arts.

"Go to a cultural center anywhere in the country, no matter where, and even if there are no Jews it’s the Maurice and Florence Rosenthal Center for Art of Wyoming, the Herman and Lillian Tannenbaum Historical Museum of NASCAR of Rural Arkansas."

Jews may have more monuments named after them relative to their share of the population, but not necessarily to their share of the big fortunes. L.A. has a huge Jewish population, but the biggest monuments there that come to mind are named after Getty and Disney - neither Jews, SFAIK. The Waltons (who, I admit, don't seem to have made especially large charitable contributions) built a nice, big art museum in Arkansas - one that gets more visitor bang for its buck than the Getty - but it was a half-Jewish guy, Bill Maher, who called it 'waste' because it's built in Nowheresville, Arkansas rather than someplace like L.A.

The biggest discrepancy in terms of community philanthropy isn't Jew vs. non-Jew. The South, especially, seems to suffer from a lack of public-spiritedness, perhaps in part because in the South public-spiritedness often means helping blacks, and blacks tend to ruin so much, and because they've taken over the central cities where public-spiritedness and a willingness to invest in the community is most often expressed.

I don’t know anything about the Walton Museum, but the Getty is a stellar museum and research institution. I think people tend to downplay the art because the views from the balconies and gardens are so enthralling.

    • Replies: @Wilkey
I didn't say Jews weren't contributing - I said that Jews probably weren't more likely to make large charitable contributions relative to their share of large fortunes. My mention of the Getty in L.A. was more to shoehorn in that little anecdote about Bill Maher getting pissy about the Walton museum. It's not enough for L.A., NYC, etc. to have lots of nice things - they have to be denied to people in places like Northwest Arkansas.
  26. Colin Quinn was also interviewed on WNYC, nothing groundbreaking, but a good listen. Leonard Lopate who usually plays the PC game pretty tightly sounds like he’s enjoying Quinn’s ethnic commentary perhaps too much.

    http://www.wnyc.org/story/colin-quinns-disappearing-new-york/

Another good interview of Colin. He’s still renting.

    http://observer.com/2015/07/colin-quinn-interview-kingdom-of-new-york/

Colin Quinn’s lament of a lost New York reminds me of this song by Agnostic Front. I could do without the celebration of squalor, but it’s basically about how the singer cannot afford to live in New York anymore. Quinn and Agnostic Front are old enough to remember a White urban working class that is not only disappearing, but the cultural elite would have you believe it might have never existed.

Interesting that the video opens with a quote from Taxi Driver, a film that almost feels as far away from our current racial landscape as Birth of a Nation. A movie about a white, working class, taxi driving maniac hunting down degenerates and the Black underclass would probably not get the “greenlight” these days. Bickle’s complete disconnect from the elite political candidate, Palatine, still rings true today.

  27. @Jefferson

Actually, Steve has had other good things to say about American blacks including athleticism, high sociability that makes them adept at jobs like sales, and a cultural resistance to some of the SJW excesses like World War G and World War T. That’s just off the top of my head – I’m sure there are others.

  28. @leper messiah
Really enjoyed Steve's review over at Taki but decided to comment here instead as Taki commenters seem to be the most immature of any I have ever seen (every post, no matter who the author, is immediately hijacked and taken into childish realms of back and forth insults or arcane topics that have nothing to do with the original post).

The posted excerpts had me LOL so I immediately went to Amazon to put this book in the cart. Looking forward to reading it. Anything that mocks our current PC nightmare is worth a look.

I agree. I always read the comments on here instead of at Taki.

I will say this positive thing about Blacks, a lot of the "Black" females who have significant Caucasoid blood in them are quite attractive in my opinion like the late Lena Horne for example when she was younger as well as the female artist/actress from the 1980s Vanity just to name a few. Although that's more of a compliment about Mixed Race Pardo women rather than Black women as in predominantly Sub Saharan African Black women.

    , @candid_observer
The reality is that blacks are the center of all attention in our current culture in large part because of the things they are good at--sociability, talking, humor, entertainment, musical performance, athletic performance, charm, assertiveness -- not only because of the things that they're (on average) bad at (IQ, diligence, impulse control) which make them seem like victims to many.

Why do we hear hardly a thing about Latinos? Because they aren't out there in the public eye, complaining, charming, agitating, from a perch achieved by performing in an outstanding way in some area people care about, such as music, entertainment, or athletics. It's not even obvious that most Latinos even give a slight damn about their relative lack of success. Their paid agitators pretend that there's all this outrage, but it isn't in view anywhere else. Take away Soros, and what's left of this purported outrage?

And yet the big buzz from this year's Oscars is that no blacks were nominated for acting Oscars, and blacks were noticably absent in all the other categories as well, other than Best Song.

The fact is that most of the culture being created isn't being created by blacks. Sure, they're heavy in sports, but sports are ephemeral.

The L.A. area has a lot of nice art museums. In Chicago the Art Institute dominates, but LA has a bunch of contenders. It probably has something to do with being able to integrate the art museum with its gardens in a benign climate.

In Chicago it makes sense to keep extending the massive Art Institute building because it's such a pain to check your coat when you first come, but in Los Angeles a fairly small collection can be a good excuse for a nice piece of indoor-outdoor architecture and a lot of landscaping.

“The reality is that blacks are the center of all attention in our current culture in large part because of the things they are good at–sociability, talking, humor, entertainment, musical performance, athletic performance, charm, assertiveness…”

And yet the big buzz from this year’s Oscars is that no blacks were nominated for acting Oscars, and blacks were noticably absent in all the other categories as well, other than Best Song.

The fact is that most of the culture being created isn’t being created by blacks. Sure, they’re heavy in sports, but sports are ephemeral.

The L.A. area has a lot of nice art museums. In Chicago the Art Institute dominates, but LA has a bunch of contenders. It probably has something to do with being able to integrate the art museum with its gardens in a benign climate.

In Chicago it makes sense to keep extending the massive Art Institute building because it’s such a pain to check your coat when you first come, but in Los Angeles a fairly small collection can be a good excuse for a nice piece of indoor-outdoor architecture and a lot of landscaping.

Chicago also has the Museum of Contemporary Art and, for some reason, The National Museum of Mexican Art.

  38. In Boston, our museums existed before the Hebraic hegemony. The same arrogance that gave the golf world THE Country Club gave the art world THE Museum of Fine Arts.

Our hospital wings, on the other hand, are so named that you think you’re in Rabin Medical Center.
