From CBS 13 in Sacramento:

2 Teens Arrested In Attack Of Manteca Sikh Man
August 8, 2018 at 11:38 am

MANTECA (CBS13) – Authorities say arrests have been made in the broad daylight attack of a Sikh man in a Manteca neighborhood.

Sahib Singh Natt was attacked near Greystone Park on Monday morning. Loved ones say the attackers demanded money.

Wednesday, authorities announced they had made arrests in connection to the incident: 18-year-old Tyrone McAllister and a 16-year-old boy. Both teens are facing charges of attempted robbery, elder abuse and assault with a deadly weapon.

Manteca police confirm that McAllister is the son of Union City Police Chief Darryl McAllister. Investigators say Union City authorities have been in contact with them and helped in the case. Family says Tyrone has recently been estranged from them.

Investigators are still looking into whether the attack could be charged as a hate crime.

  8. Anybody know what’s happening with Kobach?

    With 100% reporting he has a <200 vote lead.

    The fake news is only saying that he will oversee the recount if it happens

    But doesn’t seem to be any information about the status. I guess the establishment guy is probably negotiating behind the scenes, hasn’t conceded yet.

    @Sparkling Wiggle

    Watched this story on the local news. I guess they couldn’t bury/ignore it; as the local Sikhs had put out the video.

    Sparkling Wiggle, Manteca has about doubled in population over the past 30 years. It’s a “commuter” town; a significant chunk of its residents make a 75 (150 round) mile stop/go freeway commute daily to their $150K jobs in the SF bay area. They go through this hell so their extended families can live in a “nice” new 3000sq ft home. The Sikh community has grown rapidly there over the past five years. Unfortunately for them Stockton is just a few clicks North and is very vibrant.

    The Sikh I know are very conservative, but of course vote liberal: single issue voters – open borders. Losing a grandparent or two may be an acceptable tradeoff for increased prospects for the prodigy?

  30. LondonBob says:
    @PiltdownMan

    Sikhs voted 45 percent for Brexit, Hindu and Muslim 30 percent. Sikhs have their own thing going on.

  32. It’s amazing how we, or at least I, have been conditioned by (((the media))). As soon as I heard this I just assumed it was White guys because it was a “hate” crime.

    I doubt the two blacks who did this will be charged with a hate crime though. “Hate crimes” are only something White people can do.

    Too bad for this old man, but if Asians insist on siding with blacks, they’ll have to accept their foibles too.

  33. @Reg Cæsar

    My mother loved “The Long Green Line” with Tyrone Power. He was probably the only guy named Tyrone,til he became matinee idol.
    Later,blacks adopted it. It does have a somewhat black sound to it. Like “Sean”,a perennial favorite. My family and the kids on my block called me Sean. I preferred my given name,John. Like my heroes:Kennedy and Lennon. Now Sean is cool but I still never have cottoned to it.

    Speaking of Obamas son, his first(?) one:

    Now, Trayvon Martin’s parents, Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin have teamed up with Jay-Z on the new six-part series “Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story.” It chronicles Trayvon’s death and the protest movement that emerged afterward.

    Earlier this year, Tracy and Sybrina were honored in New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Divine for their activism. “CBS This Morning” co-anchor Gayle King met Sybrina there.

    Gayle was hyping up this series on her CBS this Morning show yesterday. She was mum as to the nations greatest presidents level of involvement in the production.

    Be sure not to miss this, what is sure to be, our nations most important cultural event, ever!
