    Well, it all depends...

How much exactly is your whitness bodied :

For example, on the One to Ten Scale of Bodied Huwhiteness, this would be Eight Minus:

This reminds me of a, perhaps apocryphal, episode of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, when a female guest came on set with a cat; she asked Johnny if he wanted to pet her pussy, and Johnny deadpanned something to the effect of, "Sure, but get the damn cat out of the way."

) claim some sort of historical oppression

) get stuff from those making money

  5. One of the major pro-Muslim-migrant politicians of Europe has been murdered, possibly assassinated

Walter Lübcke (1953-2019), an ally of Angela Merkel, gained worldwide fame as one of the leading promoters of welcoming millions of migrants to Germany and Europe in the events of 2015

Lübcke became the face of the establishment welcoming Muslims to Germany, promoting their welcome to German citizens, Lübcke even telling Germans they could leave if they don’t like it

On Sunday 2 June 2019, Lübcke was found with a single bullet in his head in his garden, no weapon nearby

There is some speculation that this may have been a political murder, by someone strongly opposed to the migration waves of Muslims and Africans in Europe … the killer possibly acting as a lone wolf, without manifesto etc, and who made his getaway, at least for now

Walter Lübcke, president of the council of Kassel in German Hesse state, had helped arrange for the display and purchase in Kassel of a 16.2-metre-high obelisk to honour strangers and migrants, by USA-Nigerian artist Olu Oguibe

Oguibe received €126,000 for the obelisk with gold inscriptions in German, English, Turkish & Arabic, of the phrase “I was a stranger and you took me in”

Fundraising sought to pay €600,000 for the obelisk, but Oguibe accepted the lower amount when fundraising did not reach the goal

Not only that, these very same folks don't seem to give a hoot about black Africans who've been enslaved by other black Africans one hundred and fifty four days ago. It's only been in the last twenty years that central African countries have outlawed slavery, practically speaking, and it still exists illegally and is pretty widespread, from what I understand. UNICEF has claimed (about 20 years ago) that 100,000 African children are sold into slavery every year. Probably less than that now, but "mass incarcerated" black criminals in the US get far more sympathy from black leaders than enslaved black children do.
  13. Up here in (the fake and gay former nation that currently calls itself) Canada they’re getting big on similar nonsense.

Canada is a beautiful national filled with sweet, fair and law abiding people. Admittedly by New York standards, Canadian passive aggressiveness is frustrating and unappealing. This opinion may be biased in that I have spent most of time Up North in Vancouver which I get the sense is probably the most passive aggressive part of the country.

Canadian national identity is a complete cipher to me. What is it? Canadian identity, as best as I can determine, is that they are not Americans and they tolerate everyone and everything, and by the way, they have always been that way. What the hell does this even mean? There is a great deal of talk of "Canadian Values", but that of course just begs the question.

Walk through a Canadian cultural exhibit at a Canadian Museum or National Park that is not about the Indigenous Peoples and you really are left scratching your head, "What the hell did I just read?" This is sadly now true in the United States and much of the West, but America still has a more deep rooted sense of itself.

As best as I can determine, the great unifier is Tim Hortons. Truly, a great Canadian institution. And I don't even like doughnuts that much, but Tim Hortons are great. Spotlessly clean, filled with polite, sweet people, free internet, quiet, (did I mention polite?) and the doughnuts and coffee are great.

And SNOW, I grant you Canada means "not American", hyper politeness, but annoying passive aggressiveness, Tim Hortons, snow, hockey, dreary open spaces, The Indigenous People , Sikhs, tolerance and Drake....

Maybe that is enough? But it seems kind of flimsy.

Canada, an AMAZING place, but still working on the whole "soul" thing.

OT: ‘Science Journalist’ discovers the well-known fact that an awful lot of experiments on mice exclude female mice due to their 4-5 hour ovulation cycle making it hard to record metabolites or other changes. This, of course, a problem and represents the very heavy credentialist and ‘publish or perish’ issue in modern science. Particularly so with a lot of the more messy world of biology and cell biology with plenty of replication issues.

But rather than seeing it as an example of the system of academic and commercial science being set against doing hard or messy things (Such as the notorious ignoring of the Y chromosome in GWAS and sequencing) she thinks it represents misogyny that male mice are preferentially used in medical experiments.

The more I heard people talk about it, the more riled up I got,” she said.

What especially got under her skin was the underlying assumption that a rigorous study of the female mouse brain required all kinds of manipulations to compensate for female hormones — and that this was not the case with males.

“It felt like a double standard,” she said. “And I could see very quickly that this paralleled the way we think about women’s dispositions compared to men’s in humans.”

It is well documented that ovarian hormones in female mice fluctuate over the course of a four- to five-day cycle. However, studies have also shown that male mice have hormonal disparities as well.

But not anywhere to the same degree. This is ironically lacking self-awareness and emotional unscientific rambling.

Hispanics like Dominicans are known for bribery and fraud in govt offices. Take the DMV, they sell licenses to illegals. I'm sure that's happening in the various welfare offices, too.
  20. I know it doesn’t matter to the left, but the Africans brought to Jamestown in 1619 were considered indentured servants just like several other whites were considered indentured servants. When the white indentured servants our brought up, they go to great lengths to claim this was much better treatment than slavery and that there should be no comparison between the two.

    https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2019/06/sidwell-friends-college-admissions-varsity-blues/591124/

Back when I went to college in the 80s, there were 12.5 million college students in the US. Now there’s almost 20 million. That’s a 60% increase. The US population increased 35% in that time period. The estimate is that the US has 329 million people in 2019, which is far too much growth from the 308 million we had in 2010. We’re beginning to reach that very unpleasant Darwinian demographic point in which we need to stop our growth and reverse it if we’re going to keep our quality of life.

India had a population of 328 million in 1943. Think about that for a moment. It took very little growth over a short period of time to make things get completely out of control in that country. India had 462 million people just 20 years later in 1963, and 719 million people 2 generations later in 1983. Unfortunately, plenty of people on this board are going to live long enough to see the US implode and our quality of live collapse under those ugly demographic numbers unless we get real.

We cannot allow ourselves to be swarmed by a mob of a million immigrants pouring over the border every year. Do the math. Anyone who sticks their head in the sand over this is committing suicide, and making sure their own kids are going to suffer.

I think it’s time we banned all foreign students from getting into US colleges if our own students are having trouble getting in, and we need to kick out every illegal person we can. We must reverse our growth or else.

    • Replies: @Achmed E. Newman
You are very right on the quality of life downgrade that comes with more people on the same (originally) bountiful and beautiful piece of land, #731. Of course, the Sierra Club, maybe the biggest environmental organization in America, was paid off 20 years ago to never ever mention this.

I only wrote back to point out something interesting. China had more people than the US has EVEN NOW, back in the middle of the 1800's! Why the difference between China and India?

OT: Crazy competitive parents are driving Sidwell officials berserk.

I read this and then followed up with the original Washington Post article, which was less cryptic.

What it boils down to is that parents are trying to anonymously fink on the unsavory social media gaffes of other kids at the school. They do this both to the counselors at the high school, and apparently they are sometimes sending the information to Ivy League admissions offices.

My read on it is that Ivy Leagues now have an informal quota per high school, even if the high schools are elite and the kids are smart on standardized tests. So that has produced intra-school strife.

I'm not sure why the parents are finking to the high school, however. And nobody seems to have gotten a comment from university admissions officers, so who knows if they "appreciate" the "help." I mean, on the one hand, it gives them a chance to unmask smirking straight, cisgender white male black-facers and taco-night mini sombrero wearers ...

Next up: Parents will be creating fake accounts for competing kids at their high school, starting years before, and maintaining them, with the occasional racist and transphobic post or tweet. And then some company will start to sell such services and offer specialized advice, like how to misspell racist posts so that algorithms don't find them and delete the accounts before admissions officials can see them. And then the feds will bust the racket.

Honestly, if you are a parent, it might be better to get your kid into a lower ranked "elite" high school at this point, if there are quotas per school. Or transfer your kid in senior year to Martin Luther King Jr. High and hope he's not killed. Or just send your kid to a good state research university and be done with it, especially if the kid is not Einstein.

    From Sunday’s Mogadishopolis Star-and-Crescent Tribune:

$600M A YEAR, YET ACHIEVEMENT GAP PERSISTS

It’s tricky to track where the aid to schools is going – and whether it’s working.

By Erin Golden and MaryJo Webster Star Tribune JUNE 1, 2019 — 8:01PM

Minnesota has spent more than $5 billion in the last decade to boost the academic performance of low-achieving students, but the state has little ability to assess how the money is being used — or whether it’s making a difference.

By one measure, it’s not. Stark differences in average reading and math scores for low-income students and their wealthier peers, and for whites and students of color, have remained stagnant or worsened during the past 10 years.

What Minnesota calls “basic skills” aid is by far the largest single stream of funding aimed at closing the state’s achievement gap. Minnesota sends more than $600 million each year to school districts around the state, double what it was spending 15 years ago. The money comes with strings attached: School districts must spend it on any of a dozen strategies to help low-achieving students catch up with their peers. State law also requires districts to prepare annual reports that show how they spent the money and assess whether it helped to boost achievement levels.

But a Star Tribune review of data from all of Minnesota’s more than 500 school districts shows major inconsistencies in how they track their spending of basic skills money. None of the school reports included the required documentation showing how the state aid affected student achievement. That makes it virtually impossible for lawmakers, educators or parents to know which of the permitted uses of the money — such as extending the school day, expanding reading, math and English-language programs, or hiring additional teachers and specialists — is proving most effective.

Minnesota’s achievement gap is getting worse —

Compared to their wealthier peers, students from low-income households are, on average, much less likely to be proficient in reading and math, a gap that hasn’t budged despite extra funding.
“We have no accountability that’s really accountability for the use of these dollars,” said Rep. Sondra Erickson, R-Princeton, who this year requested an audit of basic skills money by the Legislative Auditor. “We have a wide array of ways in which schools can use these dollars. But in the end, is it those dollars that made a difference in the learning for those children?”

Unlike other sources of education funding, which come with heavy paperwork requirements and regular audits, the basic skills program gets little scrutiny from the state Department of Education. Officials with that agency conceded that they need to provide clearer direction to school districts on how to report their spending. But they also acknowledged that they lack the authority and the resources to ensure districts follow the law.

“This would be one of those areas where the accountability to comply [with the law] really rests at the local level,” Josh Collins said in March, when he was the department’s spokesman.
Leaders in politics, education and business have for years pointed to Minnesota’s persistent achievement gaps as one of the state’s most pressing problems. They note the links between student success and the future social and economic health of their communities. But not since the late 1990s, when state agencies last audited basic skills spending, have lawmakers and the public had a window into one of the biggest financial efforts to solve the problem.

Deputy Legislative Auditor Judy Randall, whose office is preparing to audit the basic skills fund over the next year, said there appears to be “a big transparency problem.

“Maybe we were fine with that when we didn’t have such outcomes problems,” Randall said. “But now it seems like it’s worth looking at; it’s a ton of money.”

Spectral evidence is a form of evidence based on dreams and visions. It was witness testimony that a person’s spirit or specter appeared to the witness in a dream or vision and afflicted them.

    • Replies: @Redneck farmer
Maybe The Star-Crescent could have an editorial," Put Dr. Emmanuel In Charge". This could argue for putting the less famous brother of the former Chicago mayor in charge of Minnesota's Medicaid program. Using his idea that expensive medical care shouldn't be wasted on people under 15 would save Medicaid funds, and lower the academic performance gap.

Walter Lübcke (1953-2019), an ally of Angela Merkel, gained worldwide fame as one of the leading promoters of welcoming millions of migrants to Germany and Europe in the events of 2015

Lübcke became the face of the establishment welcoming Muslims to Germany, promoting their welcome to German citizens, Lübcke even telling Germans they could leave if they don't like it

On Sunday 2 June 2019, Lübcke was found with a single bullet in his head in his garden, no weapon nearby

There is some speculation that this may have been a political murder, by someone strongly opposed to the migration waves of Muslims and Africans in Europe ... the killer possibly acting as a lone wolf, without manifesto etc, and who made his getaway, at least for now

Walter Lübcke, president of the council of Kassel in German Hesse state, had helped arrange for the display and purchase in Kassel of a 16.2-metre-high obelisk to honour strangers and migrants, by USA-Nigerian artist Olu Oguibe

Oguibe received €126,000 for the obelisk with gold inscriptions in German, English, Turkish & Arabic, of the phrase "I was a stranger and you took me in"

Fundraising sought to pay €600,000 for the obelisk, but Oguibe accepted the lower amount when fundraising did not reach the goal

Back when I was still an employee, I was forced to attend one of these guilt-trip sessions.
I simply sat at the rear, put my feet up on the table and meditated (dozed) while some 300lb lesbian droned on about something-or-other. I can't remember much more than that, but at least I was getting paid to do nothing for 90 minutes.
Surely even these lefties aren't so stupid as to believe that these sessions will change any minds? If anything, I came away from it as even more of a rock-ribbed racist Republican reactionary.

They do it to make white employees and black employees uncomfortable around each other. Makes ’em easier to boss.

OT: 'Science Journalist' discovers the well-known fact that an awful lot of experiments on mice exclude female mice due to their 4-5 hour ovulation cycle making it hard to record metabolites or other changes. This, of course, a problem and represents the very heavy credentialist and 'publish or perish' issue in modern science.

We luvs “science” if it don’t hurt are feelings!

Back when I went to college in the 80s, there were 12.5 million college students in the US. Now there's almost 20 million. That's a 60% increase. The US population increased 35% in that time period. The estimate is that the US has 329 million people in 2019, which is far too much growth from the 308 million we had in 2010. We're beginning to reach that very unpleasant Darwinian demographic point in which we need to stop our growth and reverse it if we're going to keep our quality of life.

I think it's time we banned all foreign students from getting into US colleges if our own students are having trouble getting in, and we need to kick out every illegal person we can. We must reverse our growth or else.

China had more people than the US has EVEN NOW, back in the middle of the 1800’s! Why the difference between China and India?

On the last paragraph, you’re preaching to the choir here on iSteve. https://www.theatlantic.com/education/archive/2019/06/sidwell-friends-college-admissions-varsity-blues/591124/

Back when I went to college in the 80s, there were 12.5 million college students in the US.

I think it's time we banned all foreign students from getting into US colleges if our own students are having trouble getting in, and we need to kick out every illegal person we can. We must reverse our growth or else.

I’m not sure why the parents are finking to the high school, however. And nobody seems to have gotten a comment from university admissions officers, so who knows if they “appreciate” the “help.” I mean, on the one hand, it gives them a chance to unmask smirking straight, cisgender white male black-facers and taco-night mini sombrero wearers …

Next up: Parents will be creating fake accounts for competing kids at their high school, starting years before, and maintaining them, with the occasional racist and transphobic post or tweet. And then some company will start to sell such services and offer specialized advice, like how to misspell racist posts so that algorithms don’t find them and delete the accounts before admissions officials can see them. And then the feds will bust the racket.

Honestly, if you are a parent, it might be better to get your kid into a lower ranked “elite” high school at this point, if there are quotas per school. Or transfer your kid in senior year to Martin Luther King Jr. High and hope he’s not killed. Or just send your kid to a good state research university and be done with it, especially if the kid is not Einstein.

Up here in (the fake and gay former nation that currently calls itself) Canada they're getting big on similar nonsense.

A current craze is for any govt email (fed/prov/mun) to open with a line like "we are grateful to live and work on the unceded ancestral territory of the Listerine Tribe."

I'm left to wonder -- when did the Whites cede to diversity?

Did you cede? I didn't cede.

There is a great deal of talk of “Canadian Values”, but that of course just begs the question.

Walk through a Canadian cultural exhibit at a Canadian Museum or National Park that is not about the Indigenous Peoples and you really are left scratching your head, “What the hell did I just read?” This is sadly now true in the United States and much of the West, but America still has a more deep rooted sense of itself.

As best as I can determine, the great unifier is Tim Hortons. Truly, a great Canadian institution. And I don’t even like doughnuts that much, but Tim Hortons are great. Spotlessly clean, filled with polite, sweet people, free internet, quiet, (did I mention polite?) and the doughnuts and coffee are great.

And SNOW, I grant you Canada means “not American”, hyper politeness, but annoying passive aggressiveness, Tim Hortons, snow, hockey, dreary open spaces, The Indigenous People , Sikhs, tolerance and Drake….

Maybe that is enough? But it seems kind of flimsy.

    From Sunday's Mogadishopolis Star-and-Crescent Tribune:

$600M A YEAR, YET ACHIEVEMENT GAP PERSISTS

It's tricky to track where the aid to schools is going – and whether it's working.

Minnesota's achievement gap is getting worse —

Compared to their wealthier peers, students from low-income households are, on average, much less likely to be proficient in reading and math, a gap that hasn't budged despite extra funding.

Maybe The Star-Crescent could have an editorial,” Put Dr. Emmanuel In Charge”. This could argue for putting the less famous brother of the former Chicago mayor in charge of Minnesota’s Medicaid program. Using his idea that expensive medical care shouldn’t be wasted on people under 15 would save Medicaid funds, and lower the academic performance gap.
