From the New York Times:

Obama Administration to Issue Decree on Transgender Access to School Restrooms
By JULIE HIRSCHFELD DAVIS and MATT APUZZO MAY 12, 2016

WASHINGTON — In the middle of a legal fight with North Carolina over transgender rights, the Obama administration is planning to issue a sweeping decree telling every public school district in the country to allow transgender students to use the bathrooms that match their gender identity.

What about locker rooms? High schools have locker rooms …

The letter to school districts that will go out Friday describing what they should do to ensure that none of their students are discriminated against, signed by officials of the Justice Department and Department of Education, does not have the force of law. But it contains an implicit threat: Schools that do not abide by the Obama administration’s interpretation of the law could face lawsuits or a loss of federal aid. …

After supporting the rights of gay people to marry, allowing them to serve openly in the military and prohibiting federal contractors from discriminating against them, the administration has made bathrooms its latest battleground.

I pointed out this war was being launched exactly three years ago in a post entitled “Post-Gay Marriage, Cont.” Sure, it’s nuts, but there’s a certain kind of lunatic logic to it in that they won so much with their previous offensives that they ran out of anything else to do. Because they had no intention of declaring peace, this would have to be the next stage of their war:

“If you want a vision of the future, imagine a transgender’s privates waving in an adolescent girl’s face – forever.”

I don’t get why so many are so silent on this. I heard someone on tv say, “I can assure you a transgendered male to female is no threat to women. ”

Oh, really? How would we have any stats on this, and didn’t Bruce Jenner say he was still attracted to women even though he has “transitioned”?

For the sake of argument, say that 99.9% of M to F trannies don’t want anything to do with women sexually and pose no danger to females in the ladies bathrooms.

What about straight males dressing up as women in order to gain access to women…to steal their purses, to ogle them, to rape them, whatever. Why aren’t people talking about the SAFETY of women and children?

The law does not say you need to dress like a woman to use the woman’s restroom.
    , @AndrewR
You're aware that males can prey on other males and females can prey on other females... right? This isn't exactly rocket science.

If I were to rape someone, a public bathroom is the last place I'd do it.

I'm amused at the extremely histrionic and anachronistic sexism found around these parts so much. "Won't someone think of the women and children????" I mean, if you really want to go there, start by acknowledging that stuff like this is a direct result of giving so much political and cultural power to women. Advocate for the reversal of the nineteenth amendment and then you can come crying to me about chicks with dicks showering with your daughters.

    , @Ed
The national GOP is scared of engaging in the culture wars. They're truly a loathsome lot it's very easy to see how Trump beat them. I read how TX state GOP have already blasted the directive.

Trump was indifferent towards NC's bathroom law but it'll be interested to see what if anything he says about this. He has said the state's should decide and this would run counter to it.
    , @Thea
The safety issue aside, this is really about culture & control.

Decent people are being forced to raise children in a degraded society.

How often has a trans been turned out of a bathroom? I'm sure they use whichever bathroom now and no one complains.

    , @Somedude

What about straight males dressing up as women in order to gain access to women…to steal their purses, to ogle them, to rape them, whatever.

Does anyone know how it works in places that already have these rules?

Under the rules of this new era, do straight males who want access to women's bathrooms/locker rooms/showers even have to dress up as women? "Gender" is all subjective and self-reported now, right?

And what does "dress up as women" even mean in 2016? Plenty of women, maybe all, wear a shirt and pants sometimes.

The point is, if I'm a straight predator (not a TG, but a vanilla, Speaker-of-the-House next door type of guy), can anyone challenge me if I walk into a women's locker room? And if they do, can't I just falsely claim to be transgender?

Yes, if I attack a woman or a girl and I'm caught, I can be prosecuted . . . but by then, the damage has already been done, yes?
    , @Lurker
The unspoken assumption is that, in the M to F cases, we're talking about someone who is a least a vague approximation of female - due to surgery, hormones and whatnot.

But the vast majority of trannies are just people who feel they are trapped in the wrong body. And thats how most of them will stay. There is no requirement for them to have made any concrete steps to change physically at all.

  4. It would be terrible to have transgendered students traumatized the way African Americans were when they found out Rachel Doleful wasn’t really black. I hope the school districts nationwide require a medical certification of transgenderism; just to ensure that no one fakes it. Consider it “affirmative consent” – certified by the medical community. I’m sure the legislatures can all start asking the medical community – under oath – about the “science”. Can’t do things by half measure when there is an election, I mean possible student trauma, at stake. Think of the children.

You hit the nail on the head ... there is a practical need to officially and legally certify the transgendered to prevent mischief and (if you believe the transgendered) prevent the frail orchids from committing suicide.

If I was still a mischievous high school student, I would gather my male buddies and barch into the high school one day and announce to the principal that "... we" are now a clan of transgendered females and that "... we" will henceforth (starting that day) be using the female restrooms and locker rooms so that "... we" can be who we really are. We'll also express the intend to shower with the coeds after soccer practice should we get that far before the police intervene. But it appears that all of this (our mischief) would be legal and endorsed by no other than his eminence, Hussein Obama. And later in life this will always be good for a few tall tales and a few laughs :-)

Trump is absolutely correct on transgender bathroom access. It's an overblown issue, and there's no need for new laws.

I have zero desire to get locked in another stupid culture war battle that elevates an issue that affects 0.1% of the population to the top of political discussion for the next decade.

Promise to rescind Obama's decree (which, let's face it, is mostly trolling), but beyond that, don't propose any new laws.

I won't go so far as to say Trump is correct. But he is right to take the issue off the table, by agreeing with the Dems. He won't gain votes by taking the strict side. Maybe that's what @Das meant.

Totally agree. Weigh that against the more than a million legal immigrants and the untold number of illegal immigrants that enter the U.S. each year, and tell me which needs to be addressed in a Presidential campaign. Ted Cruz's desperately raising this issue against Donald Trump in a desperate attempt to salvage his floundering campaign speaks volumes about his lack of judgment as a politician. (BTW what happened to Cruz's assurance that Trump was not going to satisfy the magic number of 1237 delegates? I wonder if Cruz's decision to "suspend" his campaign after losing Indiana last week may have been affected by inklings that he was going to lose Nebraska this week. Had he remained in and lost Nebraska decisively, that would have done lasting damage to his future prospects as a Presidential candidate.)

I know where you're coming from but, unfortunately, it is this kind of surrender attitude which has gotten us deeper and deeper into this perversion cesspool.

The fact that something as ludicrous and insane as this can be pooh-poohed as no big deal shows us the effects on the culture which these monsters have brought about. I would also point out that if you read the Poof Media you will see that coming down the pike is a push for the acceptance of pedophilia. And before you laugh that off as preposterous remember how preposterous the idea of queer "marriage" would have seemed to any normal person as recently as fifteen years ago.

The desire to destroy family bonds and to try to make normal what is insane has been the hallmark of these SOBs since day one. And we have on the authority of no less than Joe Biden himself what group has been the most "pushy" in pushing this degeneracy on us.
    , @Jill

no, they won it and liberals pulled their deus ex machina - as they have with nearly every issue of the 20-21st century.
Until that is fixed- it doesn't matter what we stand for, get passed, who we get elected, they will always win.
    , @Anonym
On the face of it, getting behind an issue that is personally important to maybe 0.1% of people and not the 0.1% that have the money - at the expense of the other 90+% - seems to be politically inept.

The three big theories I’ve heard about the origins of M-to-F transgenderism:

    * Autogynephilia. Selfish egomaniacal men think they can only truly love the female versions of themselves, so they take the plunge and “transition” to a woman, either superficially or surgically, just to have someone to love

    * Superlative. Mediocre men (“Mediocre” being a relative term) change to women so they can be a superlative. Example: Martin Rothblatt is a relative nobody, Martine Rothblatt is the highest paid “woman” CEO.

    * Winners. Women are winning the battle of the sexes in a lot of ways, and people like winners, so some men are figuring that if we can’t beat ‘em, we should join ‘em.

Someone on a YouTube comment thread just relayed to me a very interesting fourth theory:

    * Hookup. Gay men really want a straight man who will never want him, because he’s straight. So gay man pretends to be a woman just to try to make the straight man.

That theory really makes a lot of sense, because it would explain why gay men are so sociopolitically defensive of transgenders. Other than the coalition of the fringes mutual defense treaty argument. But this reasoning means that Gs have a personal and direct incentive, skin in the game, so to speak, to go to the wall and defend Ts.

Most MtF transsexuals are extremely effeminate gay men who decide to go all the way and become women. In some conservative countries they actually encourage gay men to get sex changes.

The middle-aged straight guys who suddenly announce that they're a woman trapped in a man's body are a different phenomenon, and the best explanation for that is autogynephilia, sexual arousal based on the fantasy of having female sex organs.
    , @Mr. Anon
"The three big theories I’ve heard about the origins of M-to-F transgenderism:"

There's a fourth theory that used to have a lot of currency: They're f**ked up in the head.

"Winners. Women are winning the battle of the sexes in a lot of ways, and people like winners, so some men are figuring that if we can’t beat ‘em, we should join ‘em."

Women have a lower life satisfaction than men throughout the West, have the ''pay gap'', and have a significantly lower presence in careers like construction.

If all those trannies are doing what they do for that then, yeah.
    , @Federalist
As Greg Cochran said on his West Hunger blog the other day, " "Transgender' people aren’t: they’re just crazy. Whittling doesn’t change the wiring of the brain, or the chromosomes."

The conventional wisdom today is crazy. Supposedly race is not real but is only a social construct. However, we are supposed to treat the transsexual delusions of the insane as objective reality.

The left is hostile to religious faith. Belief in God is based on faith and the atheist/agnostic would say that you don't have any evidence to prove that God exists. But, at least there is no objective evidence to prove that God does not exist. The stuff we are supposed to believe nowadays goes far beyond accepting something on faith (like God) without objective proof. We are supposed to accept things on faith that are directly contradicted by objective proof.

The SJWs are just like creationists. There are things that they cannot accept under any circumstances. Would a SJW ever even entertain the notion no matter what evidence was presented that, for example, there are intelligence differences between the races? Anything that contradicts the fundamental worldview cannot be discussed or even contemplated.
    , @Half Canadian
I'd throw in another possibility (that merges with the ones you've mentioned). A desire to shock people and the attention is garners. Some people like to cause discomfort, and the attention that brings.
    , @Anonymous
Gay organizations are extremely defensive of transgender issues. Ordinary LGBs aren't quite convinced, and plenty would prefer to drop the T.
    , @Reg Cæsar

    * Hookup. Gay men really want a straight man who will never want him, because he’s straight. So gay man pretends to be a woman just to try to make the straight man.

Protosupermodel Janice Dickinson described her best friend and sob sister in high school as a gay guy whose biggest complaint was his attraction only to straight men, who only rarely were willing to experiment, and"never stayed". However, his ready lips were quite popular with the local jocks.

Keep in mind that this was in southern Florida, next to which even California can't hold a candle when it comes to hedonism.

And then there are those who are truly intersexed -- people with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, for ex. In this video, for ex., is a "male" by DNA who has a vagina, has always been seen as and felt herself to be a woman. You be the judge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETIxoQGVjos

That woman has Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, but there's a spectrum in that regard, and if you believe male and female brains are different, then you have to consider the possibility that someone with a penis and XX chromosomes does, indeed, have female brain-wiring.

I think that most male to female transgendered types are, as you say, autogynephiles or homosexuals wanting a straight man. But it's sad that those two types cause people to lump all "transgendered" people together, ignoring the true suffering of those with problems like androgen insensitivity.

Trump could use this or he could not. It’s tough.

On one hand, he could do the same thing he’s done with illegals: call out the parties for selling out the people and putting them in danger, grab a few high-profile incidents of men in women’s rooms acting like predators, and coast.

On the other hand, Trump is the realignment candidate, and social issues don’t jibe with his nationalistic/isolationist take—he truly doesn’t care.

A compromise Trump position: “Can you believe this loser? We’ve got rapists and terrorists invading, we’re losing wars and allies, and he’s using his power to force people to fight about which bathroom Susie can use?”

    *big applause*

“When I’m President I’ll leave these fights to the people. I’ll remove his executive actions and let the people vote in their communities how to deal with this. I won’t allow persecutions of people, but I’m not going to force you to choose between protecting your daughter or obeying the President. The President has to defend the country, not force its own citizens to fight.”

P.S. one problem with WW-T is that there hasn’t been 25 years old deliberate propaganda to fight for it; it’s just piggybacking on the gay rights propaganda. And, also, gays and trannies don’t get along. Trannies “convert” to have homosexual relations—i.e. Caitlin Jenner wants a gf and to pretend he’s a lesbian—but gays/lesbians want someone born their own gender, not someone who pretends to have been.

So you’re dealing with a public who thinks of trannies without resorting to propaganda themes and supposed allies who distrust them. This has a recipe for backfiring all over it.

Here is a quote from the article:

“As soon as a child’s parent or legal guardian asserts a gender identity for the student that “differs from previous representations or records,” the letter says, the child is to be treated accordingly — without any requirement for a medical diagnosis or birth certificate to be produced. It says that schools may — but are not required to — provide other restroom and locker room options to students who seek “additional privacy” for whatever reason.”

So, here is the proposed workaround, if I am on the school board:

You already have bathrooms and locker rooms for M and F. You are now required to allow people to use whatever they want. Fine. So, you install two new, smaller bathrooms and locker rooms that are for M and F. The old, larger bathrooms and locker rooms are for any students that may need “‘additional privacy’ for whatever reason.”

    Problem solved.

  18. According to some journalist, Caitlyn Jenner is now having trans- regret, and wishes to de-trans. Supposedly, Jenner wants to find a woman partner (such a surprise), but isn’t making a lot of headway, and so wants out.

I have no idea whether this report is in any reliable. But it does raise an interesting question. Making the assumption that it’s autogynephilia operating in Jenner’s case, and in a good proportion of trans-women, how can they possibly find a satisfactory sex life, if they are attracted to women, and their wives either seek out of the marriage or aren’t really attractive to the trans-woman? What woman is going to be happy with a trans-woman as a partner? It’s hard to imagine lesbians warming up to a trans-woman, and harder to imagine that a heterosexual woman will.

How can this possibly work out for the autogynephiliac? Or is it just enough for them to pleasure themselves thinking of themselves?

Just imagine the sense of regret and mortal dread you would feel if you were Bruce Jenner and, in a moment of clarity, you woke up one morning, looked in the mirror, and realized what you had done to yourself. That you were now living in a freakishly distorted body, and that the path back to any semblance of normalcy was going to be long, difficult, painful, and expensive. Just imagine trying to undo the damage caused by the Pandora's Box you had opened while pretending to yourself and everyone else that you were something you definitely, absolutely, and categorically were not---the opposite sex.

This is why those surgical and chemical mutilations known as "sex change operations" should never be performed on anyone. This is why the recent explosion of transsexual acceptance virtue-signalling is an unprecedented trip down the rabbit hole. People are the sex they were born as; nothing can ever change that. They just need to accept it and live with it.

Furthermore, I very nearly get the wind knocked out of me every time I think about how statements like Obama's imperial edict are going to appear to future generations. Once the dust of a particular era has settled and there are no more contending egos to becloud the issues, and all that remains are the plain historical facts standing like stone pillars, then people are able to look back with some degree of objectivity and judge what sort of people inhabited that far country known as "the past.". They key to acquiring uncommon wisdom is to practice looking at one's own time, at the day -to-day clash and clamor of events, as if one had already lived through them and beyond them. From that high vantage point, the idea that the president of the United States would demand that transgender bathroom swapping be accepted in the public freaking schools is so insane that it beggars belief. When I think of the catastrophe we are in for if we continue on this path, I know that the future will say, "Those idiots deserved everything they had coming to them."

For real. I wonder how they'll blame whitey for it, though. Maybe it'll go like this: "White people cause such low self-esteem in Hispanics, African Americans, and other persons of color, that they lash out at those they, wrongly (of course), perceive as weaker. It's all a matter of understandable displacement of their righteous anger at the cancer of human history."

The vast majority of parents can not home school.

The gay agenda is just adopting the same tactics as the black and latino supremacy movements of the last couple of decades.

Want whites to abandon a school district that they paid for for generations and turn it into a chaotic "multiculti" dump and then soon after an all minority ghetto within a decade? A great way to do it is for a very vocal minority backed by TWMNBN funding to demand AA and Hispanic ethnocentric education classes and pandering.

In this ongoing Gallup poll – The Most Important Problem – there is a long list of national problems. On that list, hardly any Americans even think that gay issues are important, let alone transgendered people in the bathroom.

And yet, this problem is apparently so dire and so immediate, the top officials of the executive branch of the United States of America need to involve themselves in every bathroom in the country.

Frankly, I think that we can get everybody down off the ledge if we seriously poll people on the bathroom issues that concern them the most. I find that when you put some minor issue in the context of the big issues that face us as a nation, this has a calming influence and stimulates rational thinking.

The Most Important Problem In The Bathroom:

[ ] Out of toilet paper
[ ] Out of paper toweling
[ ] Out of hand soap
[ ] Bathroom is not reasonably clean
    [ ] Leaking toilets/urinals
[ ] Person not of traditionally acceptable gender in bathroom

According to some journalist, Caitlyn Jenner is now having trans- regret, and wishes to de-trans. Supposedly, Jenner wants to find a woman partner (such a surprise), but isn't making a lot of headway, and so wants out.

I have no idea whether this report is in any reliable. But it does raise an interesting question. Making the assumption that it's autogynephilia operating in Jenner's case, and in a good proportion of trans-women, how can they possibly find a satisfactory sex life, if they are attracted to women, and their wives either seek out of the marriage or aren't really attractive to the trans-woman? What woman is going to be happy with a trans-woman as a partner? It's hard to imagine lesbians warming up to a trans-woman, and harder to imagine that a heterosexual woman will.

How can this possibly work out for the autogynephiliac? Or is it just enough for them to pleasure themselves thinking of themselves?

M–>F transgenders who are still attracted to woman should ask themselves if they would be satisfied with another M–>F transgender. If not, that should give them a clue.

The three big theories I've heard about the origins of M-to-F transgenderism:

    * Autogynephilia. Selfish egomaniacal men think they can only truly love the female versions of themselves, so they take the plunge and "transition" to a woman, either superficially or surgically, just to have someone to love

    * Superlative. Mediocre men ("Mediocre" being a relative term) change to women so they can be a superlative. Example: Martin Rothblatt is a relative nobody, Martine Rothblatt is the highest paid "woman" CEO.

    * Winners. Women are winning the battle of the sexes in a lot of ways, and people like winners, so some men are figuring that if we can't beat 'em, we should join 'em.

Someone on a YouTube comment thread just relayed to me a very interesting fourth theory:

    * Hookup. Gay men really want a straight man who will never want him, because he's straight.

“The three big theories I’ve heard about the origins of M-to-F transgenderism:”

There’s a fourth theory that used to have a lot of currency: They’re f**ked up in the head.

For one thing, notwithstanding SJW claims, being an attractive young woman is 100% the easiest difficulty mode in life. For another, there are probably a lot of autogynophiliacs who just keep it as a fantasy because they know they won't make very attractive girls.

Here is a quote from the article:

"As soon as a child’s parent or legal guardian asserts a gender identity for the student that “differs from previous representations or records,” the letter says, the child is to be treated accordingly — without any requirement for a medical diagnosis or birth certificate to be produced. It says that schools may — but are not required to — provide other restroom and locker room options to students who seek “additional privacy” for whatever reason."

So, here is the proposed workaround, if I am on the school board:

You already have bathrooms and locker rooms for M and F. You are now required to allow people to use whatever they want. Fine. So, you install two new, smaller bathrooms and locker rooms that are for M and F. The old, larger bathrooms and locker rooms are for any students that may need "'additional privacy' for whatever reason."

    Problem solved.

So in principle you could switch your gender identity twice a day.

I understand why Obama did this — everyone in his Administration wants to be the modern day equivalent of Civil Rights Marchers, only without any real risk but the adulation of being “courageous” and all that. So the motivation is pretty obvious. At bottom (sorry) it is too little status chasing too much potential status. So the stakes get raised to ever more stupid levels of triviality in that sense. No one really cares about the trans gender freak show, everyone just wants to show how they are the modern inheritors of Civil Rights protestors to get status and score chicks (who are stupidly impressed with that stuff instead of real accomplishments).

And this seems to be what Hillary! will run on — a pervert in a dress in every girl’s locker room. Its a pedophilia free for all, and I have no doubt many will use the opportunity.

The status chasers, almost all childless, will eat up Hillary!s “courageous” stand for pervs in dresses peering and leering at women’s restrooms and locker rooms, girls school locker rooms, etc. And parents will vote solidly against her for that reason alone.

  51. There is a better way to get them to change the law back to how it was. Conservatives need to start deliberately using women’s bathrooms to pinch a loaf. Being quicker and cleaner is a bonus. They can do a 5 minute transition temporarily identifying with the opposite sex, and then transition back to fit with the letter of the law. The situation will become intolerable as a result of men blowing out the ladies room after eating Mexican food and neglecting to flush, pissing on the seats, and forgetting to close the lids. Saul Alinsky would be weeping.

That's the correct strategy, professor: Balance of terror. Not just pinching, either; let the weirdos in the womyns studies dept. wade through soaked floors to encrusted seats (in the down position of course) and watch how fast this stupid issue evaporates.

I'm sorry to say it's a fools errand fighting these things as a defense of childhood innocence, feminine honor, or simple decency. The left laughs at those weapons; has spent 50 years turning them back on us. Balance of terror is the only thing that convinces them to back off.

    Hence Trump.

“Winners. Women are winning the battle of the sexes in a lot of ways, and people like winners, so some men are figuring that if we can’t beat ‘em, we should join ‘em.”

One of the dangers of progressivism is that its successes (votes for women, civil rights movement) are remembered, but its failures (eugenics, prohibition / war on drugs) are brushed under the carpet. The Left always has to paint itself as the victim in order to advance its causes. But whereas the Left was capable of understanding that this was a strategy in the past, the Left today actually believes its propaganda. While the rest of society sees the Left moving from victory to victory, from the marriage wars to the bathroom battles of World War T, for the Left, it is all a defensive struggle, in which they are fighting off the attacks and constant bombardments of heteronormativity, white supremacy, homophobia, and the like. The Left not only wants to change society according to its view of social justice, which is itself inherently contradictory, but it also operates from an already distorted vision of reality. The critical barrier that the Left has raised is to have erased the difference between sanity and madness. It appears to guarantee their eventual defeat and failure, but at the same time the crazy drive of the Left to bring equality into every area of life is serving to spread madness throughout society. Saner people are thinking that the insanity of the bathroom wars means that it will go away after a short period - to believe so might be a mistake. Society has unraveled to the point that it has become difficult for such people to recover their senses. There is no rational way to debate the Michael Brown case in Ferguson or the Trayvon Martin case with people who support the "black lives matter" movement. It falls within the realm of religious belief, not politics. So the Left won't stop unless something terrifies them into doing so. In a strange way, it's what the social justice warriors probably want deep down - every victory they win they believe is somehow fake, so they want the society they believe is hopelessly racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. to push back against them in some way. A defeat would fulfill their narrative that they are victims. The more they win, the less they feel like victims, and the more their gains appear to them to be false, fragile, and fleeting.

...or, like, eg, nuclear war, falsely credited to the other side. Come to think of it, that was done with eugenics, too, and with psychiatric treatment of homoeroticism and cross-sex behavior.

Note that in Christendom, those were sins, not mental illnesses. The latter is a progressive construction.

A great way to do it is for a very vocal minority backed by TWMNBN funding to demand AA and Hispanic ethnocentric education classes and pandering.

No, home schooling is educating your children yourself. "Raising the white flag" pertains to culture warring. Children and their upbringing are the responsibilities of parents who are supposed to love them, not expendable weapons in an alleged war for the nonexistent soul of Amur'ka. The government schools are, and long have been, cesspits of stupidity, perversion, violence, and never forget stupidity. Children should not go there (duh).

It’s interesting that we have had homosexual males in restrooms and locker rooms since the dawn of restrooms and locker rooms…

Back in the early 00s I knew a very earnest young gay who thought that the omnipresence of lecherous old men in locker rooms would forever keep gays from getting rights. Clearly, that didn’t happen.

As a young gay I found going into locker rooms to be an overwhelming yet traumatizing experience… Imagine what it would be like for a heterosexual adolescent male to gain access to a women’s locker room. You get desensitized eventually, but I don’t think that happens until after adolescence. And then given the presence of lecherous old men loitering in locker rooms, there must be a rebound later in life (maybe after actual access to sex ends).

No one seems to care about this issue anymore. I think everyone has pretty much accepted it, as long as no inappropriate behavior occurs. (And what would be the process by which you would keep gays, especially adolescent gays, out of locker rooms?)

This is a reason so many people are repulsed by homosexuality. Nobody wants to be ogled and lusted after in a bathroom or locker room. I had a good homo friend in the 90's and he was very honest about leering in the gym locker rooms. He said it was a challenge not to get aroused seeing these muscular beefcakes in the nude, but he loved it anyway. Once, we were sitting in a restaurant and this great looking couple walks in. I commented on how handsome the man was and he said to me, "you should see his body. He goes to my gym."

If you're turned on by other men in a locker room, you need to stay out. For respect for them and for purity for yourself.

Regardless, you seem a tad dispassionate about this subject, like you're arguing about the number of angels on the head of a pin. It's difficult for fathers of daughters - such as myself - to be so analytical. What are the odds that my daughters will ever come across a transgender in a bathroom? Extremely low. What are the odds that my daughters will ever get raped by a transgender in a public bathroom? Basically nil.

With that in mind, do I care and will I fight it? Fuck yeah!

So you're saying that because of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, somebody's five-year-old daughter today should see an adult's disgusting, hairy dick (with a leering, brain-damaged tranny attached to it) pissing three feet away from her when she goes to the bathroom?

Your argument is that people who fail to actively oppose a 100-year-old constitutional amendment (which is politically untouchable—seriously, repealing women's suffrage seems more viable to you than overturning a lame duck president's executive dictate?) should be sanguine about men in dresses exposing themselves to preschoolers?

    , @SPMoore8
I think you are being a little tone deaf to women.

Personally, I don't care about these laws, at all, and I don't care about TG's, at all. But in terms of public accommodations, I know two things: #1 - Women and girls have to go the bathroom a lot more often than guys. #2 - Women and girls are very sensitive to anyone, especially males of any kind, being aware that they are going to the bathroom, whether it be the strong odor of a massive dump or the slightest tinkle.

What can I say, this is real life, and this is what women and girls are like. Maybe they are different now, in 2016, and if, so, fine. But these are the main reasons we have separate gender bathrooms in the first place.

If there is an actual threat of a TG 3rd grader molesting s.o. in the girl's room the next step will be to have the teachers present in the bathrooms whenever anyone uses them.

More likely what will happen is that there will be a further retreat of people even bothering to go out in public and/or attend public schools, etc. This is exactly what has happened in any other realm of life when regulation obtrudes.

Social conservatives lost the fight over the sanctity of marriage. Do you think they'll win a fight over the sanctity of public toilets?

“I have zero desire to get locked in another stupid culture war battle that elevates an issue that affects 0.1% of the population to the top of political discussion for the next decade.”

Totally agree. Weigh that against the more than a million legal immigrants and the untold number of illegal immigrants that enter the U.S. each year, and tell me which needs to be addressed in a Presidential campaign. Ted Cruz’s desperately raising this issue against Donald Trump in a desperate attempt to salvage his floundering campaign speaks volumes about his lack of judgment as a politician. (BTW what happened to Cruz’s assurance that Trump was not going to satisfy the magic number of 1237 delegates? I wonder if Cruz’s decision to “suspend” his campaign after losing Indiana last week may have been affected by inklings that he was going to lose Nebraska this week. Had he remained in and lost Nebraska decisively, that would have done lasting damage to his future prospects as a Presidential candidate.)

*Maybe it should be 100%. I think the gaslighting/psychological warfare is bad for all of us. I don't receive any direct harm, but for some reason this really annoys me.

This is from an editorial in the NY Post on Friday:

"Transgender folks are a minuscule minority; the question’s not even relevant to most of the country. It’s insane to put this issue atop the agenda when countless schools in this nation don’t even provide a decent education.

Look: The vast majority of Americans still see two sexes, male and female, with the differences obvious and biological. Most will humor the rare person who feels otherwise — and won’t be bullied to go any further."

That's why I was scratching my head in a message a few weeks back. I simply can't understand why so much fuss is being made over a truly miniscule minority of the population when there are so many much more important issues, whether immigration or education or foreign policy or trade, that affect so many more and desperately need to be addressed.

I understand why Obama did this -- everyone in his Administration wants to be the modern day equivalent of Civil Rights Marchers, only without any real risk but the adulation of being "courageous" and all that.

And this seems to be what Hillary! will run on -- a pervert in a dress in every girl's locker room. Its a pedophilia free for all, and I have no doubt many will use the opportunity.

The status chasers, almost all childless, will eat up Hillary!s "courageous" stand for pervs in dresses peering and leering at women's restrooms and locker rooms, girls school locker rooms, etc. And parents will vote solidly against her for that reason alone.

Hillary really is a stupid politician. The smart Democratic Play would be to say, adult trannies ought to be tolerated because its a rare case with maybe 500 of these freaks nationally, and any abuse should result in police and prosecutorial action; but oh no NOT for kids at schools. What is more depressing than that though is the attitudes I see expressed by many men (some even here in the comments section), namely: their lack of the male instinct to protect their women, their wives, sisters, daughters and granddaughters. Then there are people, like the GOPers you mentioned, who are frightened into subservience. In order to avoid a media lynching they will do anything, even accept sex perversion.

    It is truly disgusting.

"I have zero desire to get locked in another stupid culture war battle that elevates an issue that affects 0.1% of the population to the top of political discussion for the next decade."

The trick that Democrats pull is to elevate an issue that benefits 0.1% of the population and harms 50%* of the population while still somehow claiming the moral high ground. But the Coalition of the Fringes knows how things work and are willing to fight for anything that helps them maintain power.

*Maybe it should be 100%. I think the gaslighting/psychological warfare is bad for all of us. I don’t receive any direct harm, but for some reason this really annoys me.

I think this is a better tactical move by Obama than you guys are giving him credit for.

And, more than the politics is the metapolitics: most people have accepted the frame of the debate. The president can issue these kinds of sweeping decrees and people shall obey. The argument is only about whether this is a good or bad sweeping decree.

Social conservatives lost the fight over the sanctity of marriage. Do you think they'll win a fight over the sanctity of public toilets?

I know where you’re coming from but, unfortunately, it is this kind of surrender attitude which has gotten us deeper and deeper into this perversion cesspool.

The fact that something as ludicrous and insane as this can be pooh-poohed as no big deal shows us the effects on the culture which these monsters have brought about. I would also point out that if you read the Poof Media you will see that coming down the pike is a push for the acceptance of pedophilia. And before you laugh that off as preposterous remember how preposterous the idea of queer “marriage” would have seemed to any normal person as recently as fifteen years ago.

The desire to destroy family bonds and to try to make normal what is insane has been the hallmark of these SOBs since day one. And we have on the authority of no less than Joe Biden himself what group has been the most “pushy” in pushing this degeneracy on us.

I suspect this was always a hoax to increase his public profile and help his promiscuous daughters stay famous.

Does anyone know how it works in places that already have these rules?

Under the rules of this new era, do straight males who want access to women’s bathrooms/locker rooms/showers even have to dress up as women? “Gender” is all subjective and self-reported now, right?

And what does “dress up as women” even mean in 2016? Plenty of women, maybe all, wear a shirt and pants sometimes.

The point is, if I’m a straight predator (not a TG, but a vanilla, Speaker-of-the-House next door type of guy), can anyone challenge me if I walk into a women’s locker room? And if they do, can’t I just falsely claim to be transgender?

Yes, if I attack a woman or a girl and I’m caught, I can be prosecuted . . . but by then, the damage has already been done, yes?

I think this federal offensive is more to do with Trump than anything else. For whatever reason, the Obama Administration wants to keep this issue front-and-center in hopes that it derails him. Certainly, he’s going to get asked a lot more questions about it, and that’s the reason they want it in the news cycle. Maybe they think his answers hurt him with evangelicals? Regardless, its a cost-free experiment for them–the media will not ask Hillary any awkward or unsettling questions about the DOJ’s new push–only Trump.

We saw the same thing with anti-vax. Full tin foil theory: celebrity ant-vax/anti-vax movement was a government/media creation designed to have a target for blame when formerly nearly eradicated diseases (like TB) started making a comeback (because of immigration). Steve, it’s not as if any teenage boy can just declare himself trans and enter the girls bathroom. It requires a parent to notify the school that their child is trans. Is there really any chance of hoaxes on any significant scale?

Look, whether you believe trans is a valid lifestyle or just a mental illness, it’s not something kids do just for kicks. The high trans suicide rate should convince anyone that it’s not exactly a shortcut to hipsterdom. I’d imagine the most likely scenario is not a posse of hoaxers but a single isolated trans kid trying their best to avoid hostile situations any which way they can.

Yes, I know the people you’ve mentioned who changed gender as adults have been anything but shrinking violets! And you can well imagine adult guys barging into women’s bathrooms on a lark or to win a bet, so maybe the situation is more complicated. But can we at least agree to consider that a separate issue from trans kids?

Again, this is about kids who’ve been certified as trans by their parents. Opposing steps to make their lives easier because of the hypothetical fears seems cruel. Besides, people are not very PC when it comes to protecting their kids. If this results in any bad consequences, there will be enormous pressure to reverse it.

You make good points. In Steve's defense, though, I think there is something to be said for greater realism in understanding this issue. Peter Frost, for example, wrote a good piece last year about the ways in which gender ambiguity were considered normal parts of adolescent development in an earlier era. Pubescent boys might think of themselves as "girlish" for a time, before settling into their masculine identity as they grew up, but there was never call to question that identity. Now, a young teenage boy may be tempted to wonder if he is really a "girl", perhaps insisting on hormone therapy or reassignment surgery before he has fully matured into manhood. The insistence that transgenderism is real, that there are people who are "women in men's bodies", obscures what should be the obvious truth, which is that a few men genuinely feel more comfortable identifying as women. Their desired identity does not alter their actual identity, which is biologically determined. We shouldn't reify their identity dysphoria any more than we should validate the paranoia of a schizophrenic.

No, but the high suicide rate is a good indicator that it is a form of mental illness and should be cured, not pandered to.

As Greg Cochran said on his West Hunger blog the other day, ” “Transgender’ people aren’t: they’re just crazy. Whittling doesn’t change the wiring of the brain, or the chromosomes.”

The conventional wisdom today is crazy. Supposedly race is not real but is only a social construct. However, we are supposed to treat the transsexual delusions of the insane as objective reality.

The left is hostile to religious faith. Belief in God is based on faith and the atheist/agnostic would say that you don’t have any evidence to prove that God exists.

What are the odds that my daughters will ever get raped by a transgender in a public bathroom? Basically nil.

One of the dangers of progressivism is that its successes (votes for women, civil rights movement) are remembered, but its failures (eugenics, prohibition / war on drugs) are brushed under the carpet. It's always tempting to go to extremes when you think "history is on your side" and you have never been wrong.

10 years from now, guarantee that the idea of allowing sexually confused young men access to girl's bathrooms and locker rooms will be forgotten...

Saner people are thinking that the insanity of the bathroom wars means that it will go away after a short period – to believe so might be a mistake. Society has unraveled to the point that it has become difficult for such people to recover their senses. There is no rational way to debate the Michael Brown case in Ferguson or the Trayvon Martin case with people who support the “black lives matter” movement. It falls within the realm of religious belief, not politics. So the Left won’t stop unless something terrifies them into doing so. In a strange way, it’s what the social justice warriors probably want deep down – every victory they win they believe is somehow fake, so they want the society they believe is hopelessly racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. to push back against them in some way. A defeat would fulfill their narrative that they are victims. The more they win, the less they feel like victims, and the more their gains appear to them to be false, fragile, and fleeting.

So you’re saying that because of Elizabeth Cady Stanton, somebody’s five-year-old daughter today should see an adult’s disgusting, hairy dick (with a leering, brain-damaged tranny attached to it) pissing three feet away from her when she goes to the bathroom?

Your argument is that people who fail to actively oppose a 100-year-old constitutional amendment (which is politically untouchable—seriously, repealing women’s suffrage seems more viable to you than overturning a lame duck president’s executive dictate?) should be sanguine about men in dresses exposing themselves to preschoolers?

Like I said, not all sexual predation is male on female. And to be fair, age and sex are two separate variables. But I don't think seeing a hairy dick would necessarily be as traumatizing to a young girl as you imply. Plus I imagine most trannies shave down there.

Do I think Obama's decree is stupid? Of course. But that's par for the course with him. We need to pick our battles and this is a really stupid hill to die on.

Let's not get carried away with a lot of Puritanical nonsense. There's nothing wrong with a penis. Being a normal man, I tend to prefer women (the kind born with vaginas, that is), but this tendency of men to constantly denigrate themselves as somehow ugly or gross, one might as well be singing from the SJW songbook. The male sexual organ is not disgusting. I have it on good authority that many cultured, refined women find the penis simply delightful.

I think you are being a little tone deaf to women.

Personally, I don’t care about these laws, at all, and I don’t care about TG’s, at all. But in terms of public accommodations, I know two things: #1 – Women and girls have to go the bathroom a lot more often than guys. #2 – Women and girls are very sensitive to anyone, especially males of any kind, being aware that they are going to the bathroom, whether it be the strong odor of a massive dump or the slightest tinkle.

What can I say, this is real life, and this is what women and girls are like. Maybe they are different now, in 2016, and if, so, fine. But these are the main reasons we have separate gender bathrooms in the first place.

If there is an actual threat of a TG 3rd grader molesting s.o. in the girl’s room the next step will be to have the teachers present in the bathrooms whenever anyone uses them.

More likely what will happen is that there will be a further retreat of people even bothering to go out in public and/or attend public schools, etc. This is exactly what has happened in any other realm of life when regulation obtrudes.

Steve, it's not as if any teenage boy can just declare himself trans and enter the girls bathroom. It requires a parent to notify the school that their child is trans. Is there really any chance of hoaxes on any significant scale?

Look, whether you believe trans is a valid lifestyle or just a mental illness, it's not something kids do just for kicks. The high trans suicide rate should convince anyone that it's not exactly a shortcut to hipsterdom. I'd imagine the most likely scenario is not a posse of hoaxers but a single isolated trans kid trying their best to avoid hostile situations any which way they can.

Yes, I know the people you've mentioned who changed gender as adults have been anything but shrinking violets! And you can well imagine adult guys barging into women's bathrooms on a lark or to win a bet, so maybe the situation is more complicated. But can we at least agree to consider that a separate issue from trans kids?

Again, this is about kids who've been certified as trans by their parents. Opposing steps to make their lives easier because of the hypothetical fears seems cruel. Besides, people are not very PC when it comes to protecting their kids. If this results in any bad consequences, there will be enormous pressure to reverse it.

You make good points. In Steve’s defense, though, I think there is something to be said for greater realism in understanding this issue. Peter Frost, for example, wrote a good piece last year about the ways in which gender ambiguity were considered normal parts of adolescent development in an earlier era. Pubescent boys might think of themselves as “girlish” for a time, before settling into their masculine identity as they grew up, but there was never call to question that identity. Now, a young teenage boy may be tempted to wonder if he is really a “girl”, perhaps insisting on hormone therapy or reassignment surgery before he has fully matured into manhood. The insistence that transgenderism is real, that there are people who are “women in men’s bodies”, obscures what should be the obvious truth, which is that a few men genuinely feel more comfortable identifying as women. Their desired identity does not alter their actual identity, which is biologically determined. We shouldn’t reify their identity dysphoria any more than we should validate the paranoia of a schizophrenic.

Sure but this is where the parents come in. I think it's safe to assume that parents have a much bigger stake in dissuading their kids from identity dysphoria than society at large. If the parents have accepted the kid as trans, I'd be willing to assume that dissuasion is not an option.

Letting parents be the judge seems a very conservative position to me. That's what makes this so different from adults who decide they're transgender.

It's interesting that we have had homosexual males in restrooms and locker rooms since the dawn of restrooms and locker rooms...

Back in the early 00s I knew a very earnest young gay who thought that the omnipresence of lecherous old men in locker rooms would forever keep gays from getting rights. Clearly, that didn't happen.

As a young gay I found going into locker rooms to be an overwhelming yet traumatizing experience... Imagine what it would be like for a heterosexual adolescent male to gain access to a women's locker room. You get desensitized eventually, but I don't think that happens until after adolescence.

I had a good homo friend in the 90′s and he was very honest about leering in the gym locker rooms. He said it was a challenge not to get aroused seeing these muscular beefcakes in the nude, but he loved it anyway. Once, we were sitting in a restaurant and this great looking couple walks in. I commented on how handsome the man was and he said to me, “you should see his body. He goes to my gym.”

If you’re turned on by other men in a locker room, you need to stay out. For respect for them and for purity for yourself.

  101. So wait, what’s preventing these supposed rapists from dressing as women and going into the men’s bathroom and locker room to seduce then rape adolescent or young boys? Think of the children! Why are you prioritizing a female child’s safety over a male child’s? Do you think the male child has a better chance of fighting off an adult than a female child?

And honestly, if this option has always been available to male rapists/pedos, then why haven’t we seen it more often? None of you actually believe that thousands of rapists/pedos just suddenly got this “new” idea from Brucelyn Jenner, do you? That literally no one has thought of doing this before?

Conservatives are being as retarded as the trannies here by pushing this issue to the forefront. It’s an easy win for the Dems, and it’s only getting attention because wacky religious conservative scare mongers needed some new boogeyman after gay marriage. Trump is wise to be indifferent on this matter, is the only one who realizes that there high-stakes, real matters at hand?

Trump is absolutely correct on transgender bathroom access. It's an overblown issue, and there's no need for new laws.

I have zero desire to get locked in another stupid culture war battle that elevates an issue that affects 0.1% of the population to the top of political discussion for the next decade.

Promise to rescind Obama's decree (which, let's face it, is mostly trolling), but beyond that, don't propose any new laws.

Social conservatives lost the fight over the sanctity of marriage. Do you think they'll win a fight over the sanctity of public toilets?

The problem is what about the little girls who are going to end up being sexually assaulted by creepy guys dressed as women? If you are a parent with daughters this issue is of concern to you.

It's already illegal to assault people. It's already illegal to be a peeping tom. It's already illegal to loiter in a public restroom.

Obama is trolling social conservatives around the country by putting out a decree saying that the tens of transgender K-12 students across the country can use a bathroom that they've probably already been using. Don't take the bait.

People have a limited attention span, and focusing on one issue detracts from other issues. If Trump gets elected, he can reverse Obama's trolling decrees on this issue in about 15 minutes. People need to keep their eyes on the prize and not get distracted.

I can tell you what Obama’s retirement hobby is going to be. Using women’s bathrooms. A lot. “Hi, ladies, I’m in here to show my support for LGBT rights. Nothing more than that. This is all perfectly innocent. By the way, anyone want my autograph?”

This is right down the alley of the sort of guy who has liberal politics, but who was very socially awkward during adolescence and couldn’t get girls, but who has now made a lot of money and gained power via some sort of aspy tech job (which is why these aspy men DON’T GET why letting men into women’s bathrooms offends the hell out of women), and who wants legal protection to be allowed to indulge in all his teenage sexual fantasies against women’s will. Some men get off on that. It’s a power trip for them to realize there’s a terrified woman using the restroom in a place where she and he are alone in there, and he’s listening with this leering grin on his face, and she can’t do anything about it. That’s the psychology of the male liberal 1%ers who support this legislation. Aspy idiots like Mark Zuckerberg love this law for reasons like that.

This really has nothing to do with trannies at all, it’s just a cover for sexual harassment on the part of heterosexual aspy male libtards.

There is a better way to get them to change the law back to how it was. Conservatives need to start deliberately using women's bathrooms to pinch a loaf.

That’s the correct strategy, professor: Balance of terror. Not just pinching, either; let the weirdos in the womyns studies dept. wade through soaked floors to encrusted seats (in the down position of course) and watch how fast this stupid issue evaporates.

I’m sorry to say it’s a fools errand fighting these things as a defense of childhood innocence, feminine honor, or simple decency. The left laughs at those weapons; has spent 50 years turning them back on us. Balance of terror is the only thing that convinces them to back off.

    Hence Trump.

Hussein Obama, keep this coming … please! You help guarantee that Trump will win the election. I couldn’t be more pleased.

However, if the Hildebeast does win … and since we are now (on the French model) ruled by presidential decree, we can expect to:

    1. Wake up to a decree that states that every women in American MUST to paid as much as the median income of all male employees in the company.

This would seem to provide women a statistical advantage since their wages would NOT be subject to the market for the job performed but rather would factor in the remuneration of all male employees, including the typical male senior managers, company vice-presidents, and CEO. As Professor Christina Marie Hoff Sommers related in a recent university forum, if women wanted to equalize incomes, they could do so in one fell swoop by training as roofers and moving to Florida. Also, Paglia (one of my favorite columnists) recently noted that, for some reason, ALL people responsible for maintaining sewer systems and collecting garbage tend to be male. Why is that? Why are they paid more than female food service workers?

    2. Wake up to a decree that lesbians and the MTF transgendered are under-represented in the higher ranks in the military, especially in the special forces and general officer ranks … and that therefore these positions will be subject to strict affirmative action quotas.

Yes, everything will still be considered equal under the principle of “gender norming” … women in the special forces will only be expected to carry half as much as the males and run half as far. Special “heavy” machine guns (that will no longer be heavy) will be designed and procured for them.

    3. Wake up to a decree that henceforth at least 50% of all corporate boards must be women.

This gets more difficult by the day but let me try … the new board members must have female genitalia or choose “female” as their gender-0f-the-moment choice when interviewed for the position). Again, not counting the transgendered, this would appear to give women the statistical advantage since only 57% of women are in the workforce.

I know this all sounds extreme … but, let’s consider Obama latest “bathroom” decree. Anything is possible and SHOULD BE expected.

They're almost there on #3 in Sweden:

A new Swedish government could introduce quotas to bring more women onto company boards if businesses don’t act themselves during the next two years, a spokesman for the Green Party said on Wednesday (1 October).

The Green Party looks set to be the junior coalition partner in the incoming government headed by the Social Democrats, who became the biggest party in a general election on 14 September.

Women are expected to fill a number of key cabinet posts in the new government, which will be announced on Friday, including that of finance minister and foreign minister.

“We are sending a clear signal to the big companies that if by 2016 they don’t have at least 40% of women on their boards, then we going to try and get a law passed in parliament,” Green Party spokesman Gustav Fridolin said.

It would be terrible to have transgendered students traumatized the way African Americans were when they found out Rachel Doleful wasn't really black. I hope the school districts nationwide require a medical certification of transgenderism; just to ensure that no one fakes it. Consider it "affirmative consent" - certified by the medical community. I'm sure the legislatures can all start asking the medical community - under oath - about the "science". Can't do things by half measure when there is an election, I mean possible student trauma, at stake. Think of the children.

You hit the nail on the head … there is a practical need to officially and legally certify the transgendered to prevent mischief and (if you believe the transgendered) prevent the frail orchids from committing suicide.

If I was still a mischievous high school student, I would gather my male buddies and barch into the high school one day and announce to the principal that “… we” are now a clan of transgendered females and that “… we” will henceforth (starting that day) be using the female restrooms and locker rooms so that “… we” can be who we really are. We’ll also express the intend to shower with the coeds after soccer practice should we get that far before the police intervene. But it appears that all of this (our mischief) would be legal and endorsed by no other than his eminence, Hussein Obama. And later in life this will always be good for a few tall tales and a few laughs :-)

Assuming you are wrote those in good faith:

Women have a lower life satisfaction than men throughout the West,

Women ask, men provide. Women always want more. Not to blame them, it's evolution. It might be hard to think in the abstract, but consider this: a man will never be unhappy because his girlfriend did not buy him jewellery, let alone be unhappy because the stones on the jewellery were not big enough. (Also consider, enough for women is significantly more than her peers have. Which means it is not that women are not happy, because men are not trying hard enough; however hard men try, it will never be that most of them are satisfied.)

If, emphasizing if, they are less satisfied in the west; simpler explanations, simpler explanation than a vast patriarchal conspiracy definitely:

    - in the rest of the world, women could be occupying themselves more with their natural inclinations, such as raising kids. This can be measured by correlating satisfaction metrics with age at first marriage, number of children, whether divorced etc.

    - in scarcity societies, which are not in the west, women might be competing for men that earn enough to care for several people, by signaling being low maintenance.

    - drudgery at work can sap a lot of contentment. The satisfaction numbers should be correlated with work statistics, how many hours worked, the kind of worked. Looking back in time how did the satisfaction numbers and work participation of women correlate. How does the satisfaction numbers compare between countries with different work participation, controlling for income.

    have the ”pay gap”,

As women are not excluded from receiving education in the west; but instead supported; All the remaining pay gap is explained by lack of qualification, and family/leisure preference.

and have a significantly lower presence in careers like construction.

Do you surmise evil patriarchy bars women from carrying 50kg cement bags?

“Assuming you are wrote those in good faith”

    I didn’t.

What’s astonishing to me is how quickly the zeitgeist has changed on this, and how willing people have been to go along with it.

I see people on my Facebook feed that I went to high school with who used to bad-mouth “fags” back when we were teenagers. I remember one girl telling me she believed “faggots” should get the death penalty. When I expressed qualified support for gay rights back then, I’d get called a “fag lover” or a pervert.

Today, those very same people were posting about how great it was that “LOVE WINS” when the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. Those very same people are OK seeing a Christian baker fined for refusing to bake a gay wedding cake. I see those very same people posting stuff about how bigoted North Carolina is for barring transgender people from the bathroom of their choice. If I’d advocated any of that stuff back when we were teens, I would have been driven out of my school with pitchforks.

I get that people can change and evolve, but I guess it’s just been surprising to me to discover how few people have any real principles apart from following the herd. I mean, I always knew this was true in the abstract, but seeing it actually manifest itself in reality has been something else altogether. In 20 years I went from being a crazy “fag-loving” extremist to being a hateful bigot, and I didn’t change my views at all. Meanwhile, people who would have been happy to load gays into ovens back then are suddenly lecturing me on tolerance and acceptance. This is why I think child sex and child pornography will eventually be legalized — sure, everybody finds it repulsive today, but I’ve seen firsthand how people can turn on a dime and start celebrating it the second they receive that command from the culture.

I wonder sometimes what those people tell their kids. Do they say, “yeah, when I was your age, I was totally in favor of gays and transgenders?” I’ve long suspected that a lot of white people from my parents’ generation, who grew up in the South around the time of the Civil Rights era, probably told kids of my generation these kinds of white lies when we were growing up: “Oh, yes, of course we were fans of civil rights! Nobody in our family was ever a racist! Everybody in our family loved Dr. King!” Seeing this sort of thing play out with gays and transgenders tends to confirm that suspicion.

I keep saying I feel like I’m Winston Smith in “1984,” where the past is constantly being erased and altered to conform with the present. Has it always been like this, or is this a recent thing?

Only 20 years? Wow. Somehow I find it hard to believe that one would go from advocating the death penalty for fags to supporting gay marriage in that span of time, unless it was accompanied by some kind of genuine conversion. Certainly the desire to be popular must have played a role, but I don't remember the 1990s as being THAT unenlightened, such that it was a popular opinion to advocate executing homosexuals. Great point about how quickly what were once core beliefs have been discarded with changes in the culture. I would add that it seems to me that Americans are exploiting the failures of government and of social breakdown to advance their personal interests. The disaster in Iraq did not lead people to reject imperialism abroad, but what it did do was to discredit Christianity for those who wanted a reason to reject it, by means of guilt by association. The Christian Right took more blame for their support of George W. Bush than the Neo-cons who pushed for and planned the actual war. Instead of trying to search for deeper reasons for the geopolitical and economic failures of the past decade and a half, people are instead milking these wrongs as excuses for their own laziness and passivity. The slogan that "love wins" is the culmination of liberal passivity that blames intolerance for all our social problems, so that no one is forced to take any responsibility for what is happening.

And then there are those who are truly intersexed — people with Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, for ex. In this video, for ex., is a “male” by DNA who has a vagina, has always been seen as and felt herself to be a woman. You be the judge: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETIxoQGVjos

That woman has Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome, but there’s a spectrum in that regard, and if you believe male and female brains are different, then you have to consider the possibility that someone with a penis and XX chromosomes does, indeed, have female brain-wiring.

I think that most male to female transgendered types are, as you say, autogynephiles or homosexuals wanting a straight man. But it’s sad that those two types cause people to lump all “transgendered” people together, ignoring the true suffering of those with problems like androgen insensitivity.

Good comment Tracy. I would add that the real suffering in "complete" androgen insensitivity (a very very rare condition) has nothing to do with anything like transgender- like "gender identity dysphoria" - the real suffering is primarily infertility (genetic males with complete androgen sensitivity obviously cannot feel like women trapped in men's bodies, as they - and the rest of the world - are unaware on anything but an intellectual level that their almost completely female bodies are not genetically female). No social policy can successfully ameliorate infertility. Being a genetic male with a history of (usually pre-natal) on-and-off again androgen insensitivity (rare, but not as rare as the absolutely complete version) is another issue. The corresponding genetic female pre-natal histories are also
    frequently misunderstood.

There are people who are different, and I sympathize with them. And, to be fair, they aren't the ones fighting World War T. However, if we must choose between letting them suffer and forcing hundreds of millions of others to suffer, I will let them suffer.

You know who ain't gonna take well to this? Ya know who's gonna establish police records for themselves because of this?

    Black and hispanic kids.

For real. I wonder how they’ll blame whitey for it, though. Maybe it’ll go like this: “White people cause such low self-esteem in Hispanics, African Americans, and other persons of color, that they lash out at those they, wrongly (of course), perceive as weaker. It’s all a matter of understandable displacement of their righteous anger at the cancer of human history.”

What's astonishing to me is how quickly the zeitgeist has changed on this, and how willing people have been to go along with it.

I see people on my Facebook feed that I went to high school with who used to bad-mouth "fags" back when we were teenagers. I remember one girl telling me she believed "faggots" should get the death penalty. When I expressed qualified support for gay rights back then, I'd get called a "fag lover" or a pervert.

Today, those very same people were posting about how great it was that "LOVE WINS" when the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage. Those very same people are OK seeing a Christian baker fined for refusing to bake a gay wedding cake. I see those very same people posting stuff about how bigoted North Carolina is for barring transgender people from the bathroom of their choice. If I'd advocated any of that stuff back when we were teens, I would have been driven out of my school with pitchforks.

I get that people can change and evolve, but I guess it's just been surprising to me to discover how few people have any real principles apart from following the herd. I mean, I always knew this was true in the abstract, but seeing it actually manifest itself in reality has been something else altogether. In 20 years I went from being a crazy "fag-loving" extremist to being a hateful bigot, and I didn't change my views at all. Meanwhile, people who would have been happy to load gays into ovens back then are suddenly lecturing me on tolerance and acceptance. This is why I think child sex and child pornography will eventually be legalized -- sure, everybody finds it repulsive today, but I've seen firsthand how people can turn on a dime and start celebrating it the second they receive that command from the culture.

I wonder sometimes what those people tell their kids. Do they say, "yeah, when I was your age, I was totally in favor of gays and transgenders?" I've long suspected that a lot of white people from my parents' generation, who grew up in the South around the time of the Civil Rights era, probably told kids of my generation these kinds of white lies when we were growing up: "Oh, yes, of course we were fans of civil rights! Nobody in our family was ever a racist! Everybody in our family loved Dr. King!" Seeing this sort of thing play out with gays and transgenders tends to confirm that suspicion.

I keep saying I feel like I'm Winston Smith in "1984," where the past is constantly being erased and altered to conform with the present. Has it always been like this, or is this a recent thing?

Only 20 years? Wow. Somehow I find it hard to believe that one would go from advocating the death penalty for fags to supporting gay marriage in that span of time, unless it was accompanied by some kind of genuine conversion. Certainly the desire to be popular must have played a role, but I don’t remember the 1990s as being THAT unenlightened, such that it was a popular opinion to advocate executing homosexuals. But maybe I don’t remember those times as well as I should; in the 90s I recall that you still had social conservatives like Pat Buchanan arguing that AIDS was the cure for homosexuality.

I can tell you what Obama's retirement hobby is going to be. Using women's bathrooms. A lot. "Hi, ladies, I'm in here to show my support for LGBT rights. Nothing more than that. This is all perfectly innocent. By the way, anyone want my autograph?"

This is right down the alley of the sort of guy who has liberal politics, but who was very socially awkward during adolescence and couldn't get girls, but who has now made a lot of money and gained power via some sort of aspy tech job (which is why these aspy men DON'T GET why letting men into women's bathrooms offends the hell out of women), and who wants legal protection to be allowed to indulge in all his teenage sexual fantasies against women's will. Some men get off on that. It's a power trip for them to realize there's a terrified woman using the restroom in a place where she and he are alone in there, and he's listening with this leering grin on his face, and she can't do anything about it. That's the psychology of the male liberal 1%ers who support this legislation. Aspy idiots like Mark Zuckerberg love this law for reasons like that.

This really has nothing to do with trannies at all, it's just a cover for sexual harassment on the part of heterosexual aspy male libtards.

You sound like the alt-right version of those idiot feminists who think that the biggest threat to women’s liberation today is a bunch of white male gamer nerds.

  122. The admin certainly has a pattern. Once one of their causes wins in one state, they immediately criminalize every other state. Of course the states that resist don’t usually support them anyway, so they get to clobber their enemies as they ‘enforce the laws.’

Sanctuary cities don’t get this treatment, of course.

Anyway, no one can deny that the 1976 men’s decathlon champion declaring himself a woman was, first and foremost, hilarious.

But then it’s just clear the guy is miserable. All of these people are, because they have this insane notion that they are ‘trapped’ in the wrong body, which sounds like the psychosis they are predicting for future head-transplant patients. Transexuals commit suicide so often because they have a highly distressing and sad mental illness.

This new, intense movement to force society to indulge these poor folks’ delusions is simply cruel. Nobody would ever think of agreeing with an anorexic that, yes, she really should lose a few pounds, simply because the anorexic really, really thinks she’s fat.

The arguments don’t make any sense, either. If ‘gender’ is a social construct, just make it a totally separate thing from sex. Of course, the ‘social construct’ accessories: handbags, heeled shoes, dresses, makeup, etc, seems to be the thing about ‘being a woman’ they are most excited about. They don’t seem particularly eager to menstruate.

It’s not clear that many people really have a problem with other people pretending to be the opposite sex anyway, they just don’t want to be forced to pretend as well.

I’d throw in another possibility (that merges with the ones you’ve mentioned). A desire to shock people and the attention is garners. Some people like to cause discomfort, and the attention that brings.

Like I said, not all sexual predation is male on female. And to be fair, age and sex are two separate variables. But I don’t think seeing a hairy dick would necessarily be as traumatizing to a young girl as you imply. Plus I imagine most trannies shave down there.

Do I think Obama’s decree is stupid? Of course. But that’s par for the course with him. We need to pick our battles and this is a really stupid hill to die on.

Sometimes you need to fight the immediate symptom before moving on to the disease.

Fuck yeah!

Sometimes you got to go with your gut.

The problem is what about the little girls who are going to end up being sexually assaulted by creepy guys dressed as women? If you are a parent with daughters this issue is of concern to you.

It’s already illegal to assault people. It’s already illegal to be a peeping tom. It’s already illegal to loiter in a public restroom.

There’s no need for new laws.

Obama is trolling social conservatives around the country by putting out a decree saying that the tens of transgender K-12 students across the country can use a bathroom that they’ve probably already been using. Don’t take the bait.

People have a limited attention span, and focusing on one issue detracts from other issues. If Trump gets elected, he can reverse Obama’s trolling decrees on this issue in about 15 minutes. People need to keep their eyes on the prize and not get distracted.

Let’s not get carried away with a lot of Puritanical nonsense. There’s nothing wrong with a penis.

I love gazing at muscles, square jaws, well-fitting clothing, short and well groomed beards, and the various male- oriented objects of our culture: cars, tools, guns, sports equipment, gigantic oak bookshelves and desks. When I walk through the men's department at Macy's I just feel happy and safe. The smell of expensive cologne is intoxicating. I love men and maleness! But seeing a naked man? Yuck. On the face of it, getting behind an issue that is personally important to maybe 0.1% of people and not the 0.1% that have the money - at the expense of the other 90+% - seems to be politically inept.

Obama is betting that social conservatives will take the bait and pass laws like the one in North Carolina, and this will become a major national point of contention, which socially conservatives will inevitably lose.

The party that spends the most time talking about tranny bathrooms is the party that is losing. If liberals are talking about transgender bathrooms, that’s a very good reason why conservatives should not be talking about transgender bathrooms.

I guess we need to define "losing" because trannies in the bathroom isn't a majority opinion. You have a small set of activists preying on the indifference of individuals to push through their radical agenda.

Even after its legalization is doubtful gay marriage could pass an up or down vote in most states outside the reliable coastal blue states. Heck it would fail in CA.

LGBT rights isn't something that has emanated from the masses but pushed onto the masses by a debauched, vile cultural elite. Social conservatives should fight.

The slogan that “love wins” is the culmination of liberal passivity that blames intolerance for all our social problems, so that no one is forced to take any responsibility for what is happening.

I don't get why so many are so silent on this. I heard someone on tv say, "I can assure you a transgendered male to female is no threat to women. "

Oh, really? How would we have any stats on this, and didn't Bruce Jenner say he was still attracted to women even though he has "transitioned"?

For the sake of argument, say that 99.9% of M to F trannies don't want anything to do with women sexually and pose no danger to females in the ladies bathrooms.

What about straight males dressing up as women in order to gain access to women...to steal their purses, to ogle them, to rape them, whatever. Why aren't people talking about the SAFETY of women and children?

The unspoken assumption is that, in the M to F cases, we’re talking about someone who is a least a vague approximation of female – due to surgery, hormones and whatnot.

But the vast majority of trannies are just people who feel they are trapped in the wrong body. And thats how most of them will stay. There is no requirement for them to have made any concrete steps to change physically at all.

The admin certainly has a pattern. Once one of their causes wins in one state, they immediately criminalize every other state. Of course the states that resist don't usually support them anyway, so they get to clobber their enemies as they 'enforce the laws.'

Sanctuary cities don't get this treatment, of course.

Anyway, no one can deny that the 1976 men's decathlon champion declaring himself a woman was, first and foremost, hilarious.

But then it's just clear the guy is miserable. All of these people are, because they have this insane notion that they are 'trapped' in the wrong body, which sounds like the psychosis they are predicting for future head-transplant patients. Transexuals commit suicide so often because they have a highly distressing and sad mental illness.

This new, intense movement to force society to indulge these poor folks' delusions is simply cruel. Nobody would ever think of agreeing with an anorexic that, yes, she really should lose a few pounds, simply because the anorexic really, really thinks she's fat.

The arguments don't make any sense, either. If 'gender' is a social construct, just make it a totally separate thing from sex. Of course, the 'social construct' accessories: handbags, heeled shoes, dresses, makeup, etc, seems to be the thing about 'being a woman' they are most excited about. They don't seem particularly eager to menstruate.

It's not clear that many people really have a problem with other people pretending to be the opposite sex anyway, they just don't want to be forced to pretend as well.

This new, intense movement to force society to indulge these poor folks’ delusions is simply cruel. Nobody would ever think of agreeing with an anorexic that, yes, she really should lose a few pounds, simply because the anorexic really, really thinks she’s fat.

Home schooling is the equivalent of raising the white flag.

No, home schooling is educating your children yourself. “Raising the white flag” pertains to culture warring. Children and their upbringing are the responsibilities of parents who are supposed to love them, not expendable weapons in an alleged war for the nonexistent soul of Amur’ka. The government schools are, and long have been, cesspits of stupidity, perversion, violence, and never forget stupidity. Children should not go there (duh).

Hussein Obama, keep this coming ... please! You help guarantee that Trump will win the election. I couldn't be more pleased.

However, if the Hildebeast does win ... and since we are now (on the French model) ruled by presidential decree, we can expect to:

    2. Wake up to a decree that lesbians and the MTF transgendered are under-represented in the higher ranks in the military, especially in the special forces and general officer ranks ... and that therefore these positions will be subject to strict affirmative action quotas.

Yes, everything will still be considered equal under the principle of "gender norming" ... women in the special forces will only be expected to carry half as much as the males and run half as far. Special "heavy" machine guns (that will no longer be heavy) will be designed and procured for them.

    3. Wake up to a decree that henceforth at least 50% of all corporate boards must be women.

This gets more difficult by the day but let me try ... the new board members must have female genitalia or choose "female" as their gender-0f-the-moment choice when interviewed for the position). Again, not counting the transgendered, this would appear to give women the statistical advantage since only 57% of women are in the workforce.

I know this all sounds extreme ... but, let's consider Obama latest "bathroom" decree. Anything is possible and SHOULD BE expected.

They’re almost there on #3 in Sweden:

I think I remember TERF blogs like Gender Trender compiling articles on cases of bathroom assaults.

Good comment Tracy. I would add that the real suffering in “complete” androgen insensitivity (a very very rare condition) has nothing to do with anything like transgender- like “gender identity dysphoria” – the real suffering is primarily infertility (genetic males with complete androgen sensitivity obviously cannot feel like women trapped in men’s bodies, as they – and the rest of the world – are unaware on anything but an intellectual level that their almost completely female bodies are not genetically female).

BTW, this afternoon I heard “All Things Considered” host Robert Siegel grilling NC governor Pat McCrory on the bill to keep transgenders in the appropriate bathrooms. Siegel really had his dander up. You’d think he had Lester Maddox or Bull Connor on the hot seat.

Siegel was born in 1947. If you had asked him 20 years ago if he would have been irate about cross-dressers being denied access to women’s bathrooms and locker rooms, I wonder if he would have thought you were crazy.

If you listen to late-1990s archives of NPR’s “This American Life,” you’ll hear ultra-liberal host Ira Glass refer to TGs as “trannies.” If Paula Deen is held accountable for 20-year-old hate speech, why not Ira?

Let's not get carried away with a lot of Puritanical nonsense. There's nothing wrong with a penis. Being a normal man, I tend to prefer women (the kind born with vaginas, that is), but this tendency of men to constantly denigrate themselves as somehow ugly or gross, one might as well be singing from the SJW songbook. The male sexual organ is not disgusting. I have it on good authority that many cultured, refined women find the penis simply delightful.

An interesting discussion this. I find male plumbing to be rather disgusting myself. Only few women are really into male genitalia in an aesthetic sense. Those that do also often derive great pleasure from performing fellatios. Women are strange creatures.
I've met some women who were into the feel and taste of penises in their mouths. And they were also delighted at the sight of an erect penis. Not so much at the scrotum.
Admittedly, we're talking about a small minority of females: 5 to 10 percent. But they're the best and make good girlfriend material.

I have this feeling that when Bruce Jenner decided to adopt a female identity, he envisioned becoming a young woman, not an old woman, though the latter is what he resembles. (I saw a picture of him golfing in a short skirt and he has old-person legs.)

Is the transgender's fantasy to start over in a new young body of the opposite sex? It's hard to imagine how anyone would think this would work.

That raises an interesting question: If science advances to the point where they can make you into a 20-year-old hottie, how many people will do it? Probably quite a lot.

For one thing, notwithstanding SJW claims, being an attractive young woman is 100% the easiest difficulty mode in life. For another, there are probably a lot of autogynophiliacs who just keep it as a fantasy because they know they won’t make very attractive girls.

Kind of like the “documentation” you need to call your pet a service animal:

Gay organizations are extremely defensive of transgender issues. Ordinary LGBs aren’t quite convinced, and plenty would prefer to drop the T.

An interesting discussion this. I find male plumbing to be rather disgusting myself. Yuck. (unless it's my husband. Him I adore in any attire.)

Someone please explain this to me.

The offending part is the scrotum, which seems like one of God’s engineering flaws. As Tim Allen once joked, it was like he had skin left over from making the elbows.

Women, no matter your sexual preference, are a much more elegant design.

No way. I remember reading a National Lampoon article back in junior high, when I was a virgin, called "My Vagina". One of the points made was that there was enough extra skin down there to make two faces. And I later learned for myself that there is is some crazy stuff going on down there with all those crevices and labia. And it can look pretty unattractive. I recall a bisexual stripper once complaining to me about a another girl, whom she was seeing, whose genitalia grossed her out because they resembled a roast-beef sandwich.

Only few women are really into male genitalia in an aesthetic sense. Those that do also often derive great pleasure from performing fellatios. Women are strange creatures.
I’ve met some women who were into the feel and taste of penises in their mouths. And they were also delighted at the sight of an erect penis. Not so much at the scrotum.
Admittedly, we’re talking about a small minority of females: 5 to 10 percent. But they’re the best and make good girlfriend material.

Gay men, on the other hand, seem to be universally besotted with the penis and everything about it.

    What's the scientific explanation here?

    , @Formerly CARealist
to bring this discussion to a less explicit level, I'd say the radical feminists have created a situation where women are supposed to want sex, but not want a husband or children. This seems to me almost exactly backwards. Oh women want sex, but they want it to eventually include the ring and the babies (these both include lots of love). Otherwise what's the point of all that exposure, vulnerability, risk, fear, pain?

Male equipment denotes power and pain, and women need to be very careful how they approach such a risk. It's why so much illicit sex (all?) takes place under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A reasoned, sober woman says, "not without a promise and a plan".

Also, can you imagine a world where straight women had the same cravings as gay men? It would self-destruct in one generation.

Finally, remember I'm writing from a married with children, conservative woman's POV. If you guys are sleeping around with liberal skanks, then I'm truly sorry for all involved.

…or, like, eg, nuclear war, falsely credited to the other side. Come to think of it, that was done with eugenics, too, and with psychiatric treatment of homoeroticism and cross-sex behavior.

Note that in Christendom, those were sins, not mental illnesses. The latter is a progressive construction.

Protosupermodel Janice Dickinson described her best friend and sob sister in high school as a gay guy whose biggest complaint was his attraction only to straight men, who only rarely were willing to experiment, and”never stayed”. However, his ready lips were quite popular with the local jocks.

Keep in mind that this was in southern Florida, next to which even California can’t hold a candle when it comes to hedonism.

"I have zero desire to get locked in another stupid culture war battle that elevates an issue that affects 0.1% of the population to the top of political discussion for the next decade."

This is from an editorial in the NY Post on Friday:

“Transgender folks are a minuscule minority; the question’s not even relevant to most of the country. It’s insane to put this issue atop the agenda when countless schools in this nation don’t even provide a decent education.

Look: The vast majority of Americans still see two sexes, male and female, with the differences obvious and biological. Most will humor the rare person who feels otherwise — and won’t be bullied to go any further.”

That’s why I was scratching my head in a message a few weeks back. I simply can’t understand why so much fuss is being made over a truly miniscule minority of the population when there are so many much more important issues, whether immigration or education or foreign policy or trade, that affect so many more and desperately need to be addressed.

It's a trend now, so that tiny minority is growing. Most commenters here, and most of the public, don't seem to understand the scope of the issue. This is not the trans community of old. It used to basically boil down to the few very effeminate gays and very butch lesbians desperate enough and the few autogynephiles who wanted it bad enough to put up with the stigma. But in these enlightened times, when shrinks endorse transgenderism and Caitlyn is a national hero, there are more and more people taking the leap.

Guys who a decade ago would've been satisfied with wearing panties under their clothes, confused kids, kids with SJW parents, effeminate gays frustrated with their lack of success on the gay sexual market, even quite feminine straight girls who decide writing an SJW blog is just not enough (though a lot of those don't actually take hormones or have mastectomies, just sulk on Youtube and harass everyone around them to accept their "preferred gender"). There'll be a lot of buyers' remorse in the coming decades. I feel sorry for the kids.

I think the "segregated washroom" thing is just another instance of Civil Rights Reenactors. There was a viral video a few months back of a guy dressed as a woman haunting a ladies dressing room. This is all about galvanizing women against men listening to them pee. As a man, I couldn't care less, if a woman wants to go to the bathroom and/or talk with another woman about their date while I urinate that's fine with me. However, office buildings routinely have a code lock for the ladies' room, not the men's room.

Of course on another level it's all about "validating" TG's; and yes like most people who identify themselves primarily by their sexuality, validation is a constant need. However, except for some women I know, nobody cares. Normal people really care very little about someone else's sexual orientation or cross dressing.

The easiest solution is just to dispense with gendered restrooms in their entirety. Then we can let the women and the TG's fight it out amongst themselves.

Is the purpose of WWT to provide cover for AFFH?

    https://www.huduser.gov/portal/affht_pt.html

BTW, this afternoon I heard "All Things Considered" host Robert Siegel grilling NC governor Pat McCrory on the bill to keep transgenders in the appropriate bathrooms. Siegel really had his dander up. You'd think he had Lester Maddox or Bull Connor on the hot seat.

Siegel was born in 1947. If you had asked him 20 years ago if he would have been irate about cross-dressers being denied access to women's bathrooms and locker rooms, I wonder if he would have thought you were crazy.

If you listen to late-1990s archives of NPR's "This American Life," you'll hear ultra-liberal host Ira Glass refer to TGs as "trannies." If Paula Deen is held accountable for 20-year-old hate speech, why not Ira?

The appropriate political question, then, is not the issue itself, but what kind of politician would prioritize it? Don’t ignore it, flip the spotlight around.

There’s a reason why “soixante-neuf” is in the vocabulary. BTW, I seem to recall a scene in Zola’s Germinal in which the wife satisfies her hard working coal mining husband in this way. There are all sorts of elements involved, including contraception. But this is literally different strokes for different folks territory.

Closeting balanced the scales. You got your show, but no one knew, and you would be the last to let them.

A minority, yes, but I'd say 5 to 10 percent is too low.

Gay men, on the other hand, seem to be universally besotted with the penis and everything about it.

    What's the scientific explanation here?

to bring this discussion to a less explicit level, I’d say the radical feminists have created a situation where women are supposed to want sex, but not want a husband or children. This seems to me almost exactly backwards. Oh women want sex, but they want it to eventually include the ring and the babies (these both include lots of love). Otherwise what’s the point of all that exposure, vulnerability, risk, fear, pain?

Male equipment denotes power and pain, and women need to be very careful how they approach such a risk. It’s why so much illicit sex (all?) takes place under the influence of drugs or alcohol. A reasoned, sober woman says, “not without a promise and a plan”.

Also, can you imagine a world where straight women had the same cravings as gay men? It would self-destruct in one generation.

Finally, remember I’m writing from a married with children, conservative woman’s POV. If you guys are sleeping around with liberal skanks, then I’m truly sorry for all involved.

If you listen to late-1990s archives of NPR’s “This American Life,” you’ll hear ultra-liberal host Ira Glass refer to TGs as “trannies.” If Paula Deen is held accountable for 20-year-old hate speech, why not Ira?

That's a great point, worth making at other sites.

I wouldn’t bother. Everyone used it. The consensus among progressives seems to be that saying “tranny” used to be acceptable, but has (along with lots of other things, such as movies like “Tootsie” or “Mrs. Doubtfire”) morphed into a hate crime over time.

I was at the local McDonalds last Sunday having coffee with my neighbors. The staff was giving out roses to all the women because it was Mother's Day. I went back to the counter to get a refill, and said, in probably too loud a voice, "If I self identify as a woman, can I have a rose too?" The Spanish counter people didn't get it but everybody else cracked up. Sadly, I did not get a rose, so I guess my gender identifying needs work.

” Sadly, I did not get a rose, so I guess my gender identifying needs work.”

Maybe you should think about changing that “Don” into a “Donna,” as a start. That might help.
