From the Seattle Times, a story about the Seattle – Tacoma Airport:

Sheriff says SeaTac Bob’s Burgers takeover-robbery was a ‘hoax’ in attempt to qualify for visa for crime victims

Nov. 4, 2019 at 5:48 pm Updated Nov. 4, 2019 at 6:56 pm

By Asia Fields

Seattle Times staff reporter

The King County Sheriff’s Office believes 10 people staged a takeover-style robbery at a SeaTac restaurant last month in an attempt to obtain visas that are available to some victims of crime, it announced Monday.

Deputies and officers from the SeaTac Police Department responded to Bob’s Burgers & Teriyaki the night of Oct. 19 after an employee reported a robbery. There, officers were told that two robbers, one of whom had a gun, tied up a restaurant manager and six customers, then stole their belongings and sexually assaulted two women, said sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Ryan Abbott.

“It was all a lie,” Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht said at a Monday press conference. “Every employee present that evening, every customer, participated in a deliberate hoax.”

There was a staged robbery, as the two alleged robbers dressed up in masks, tied up the others and drove off in one of their cars, which hasn’t been located yet, Abbott said. But detectives believe all 10 people — the six customers, a manager, the employee who called police and the two alleged robbers — were in on the hoax.

SeaTac Police Chief Jon Mattsen said the the stories from those involved didn’t align. Then, Abbott said, two of the people told detectives the robbery was staged in an attempt to qualify for a U visa, which is granted to some undocumented crime victims who assist officials in investigating and prosecuting the crimes. The Sheriff’s Office does not know how many of the people involved hoped to apply for a U visa, as it does not ask about immigration status, Abbott said.

Investigating the case was a “tremendous waste of resources,” Mattsen said.

None of the people involved, who range from 38 to 51, is in custody, Abbott said. Detectives had not yet finished their investigation when conservative talk-show host Jason Rantz posted that the robbery was a hoax, citing anonymous law-enforcement officials.

But, the Seattle Times sermonizes, Science has proven that immigrants are morally better and more deserving than you crime-prone Americans:

Research also has consistently shown that immigrants are less likely to commit crimes than people born in the U.S. A 2018 study published in the journal Criminology did not find a positive relationship between the number of undocumented immigrants and crime rates.

In addition, research including a prominent 2010 study from the University of Massachusetts Boston has found that false reports of sexual assault are low and make up between about 2% and 10% of reports.

SpDoes that count immigrants who broke the law by unlawful entry to the US, because their crime rate seems to be 100%?

I can’t even begin to imagine the retarded methodology used to come up with these numbers. Did they survey women by asking them what percentage of their rape allegations were false? They should have surveyed men doing time for rape, in which case their data would have shown that 90% of the allegations are false and the guy was framed ’cause he actually dindu nothin’.

  5. American crime rates include american blacks who have very high crime rates. So, immigrants, which are 90% unskilled and 10% skilled, combined have crime rates about the same as Americans of whom 13% are black. Sounds about right.

The better question to ask is, “What is the crime rate of illegals compared to the H1B folks?”

I won’t hold my breath waiting for woke folk to do a study to answer that question.

It’s the shibboleth that the Hispanic crime rate, while higher than the white rate, is less than the black rate, while the black rate is so high that it skews the overall US crime rate above the Hispanic rate. But I don’t believe the actual crime data demonstrate that outcome.

What’s reported is closer to mythology than reality.

Well, before the King riots there was this bizarre event Jerome Skolnick writes sbout where LA mestizo teens regularly robbed a McDonald’s with the help of an inside homie who would tie himself up and play victim. It went on so long that McDonald’s corporate security figured everything out and asked LAPD why they didn’t move in, but LAPD anticipated heavily armed gangbangers (“Nooo … we waaait …”). At long last the teenagers playing with toy guns were rolled up by a massively overmatching gang squad.

“It was all a lie,” Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht said

So Sheriff Mitzi is on the case.

I see someone created a wiki page for her after her election to sheriff in Nov. 2017. She is b.1959; raised in the Seattle area; a lifelong Washington stater. Her full, legal first name appears to be Mitzi, as it is also used on her “dot gov” bio page.

Her wiki fan included that she “unseat[ed] incumbent John Urquhart after a tenure marked by allegations of bias, harassment, and sexual assault.”

And this, from her Jan. 2018 swearing in:

New King County Sheriff Mitzi Johanknecht chuckles as her wife, Maureen Warren, struggles to pin on her sheriff’s badge after a swearing-in ceremony Tuesday in Seattle. Johanknecht, a veteran of the force, defeated incumbent Sheriff John Urquhart in November.

    her wife

One of the four accompanying images in the story is of Mitzi kissing her wife.

Mitzi and her wife, Maureen, live in West Seattle. Their adult daughter, Sydni, and son in law Scott live in New York City.

And it appears there were anti-WhiteMale overtones to her campaign in 2017.

I am sure Sheriff Mitzi is competent, as far as it goes, but I am also sure that a certain kind of foreigner will think a society that puts her in charge is laughably soft and deserves to have its silly laws broken.

The only good information about false rape accusations I have seen (in an old psych textbook) mentions that there are no real numbers for this, that the closest we come is data from one police chief who got angry because he was falsely accused, and it’s much higher than what feminists claim but not as high as men would expect. It is standard procedure at many police departments to allow or forgive false rape accusation. It is not considered a crime, defamation or wasting police time. The liar is generally allowed to just go home and no data is compiled. Most experienced cops know a few minutes into a story if it stinks or if it’s probably true, and many false rape accusations are wildly poorly assembled, or accompanied by inapproproate emotional reactions — which of course feminists want inverted into the gold standard of truth.

It looks like Koreans and/or Hispanics, based on available info.

Photos of staff posted by people to Google reviews in the past few years a middle-aged East Asian (Korean) woman who appears to be the owner. One or two pics also show Hispanic staff.

Bob’s Burgers and Teriyaki also sell a bulgogi burger and highlight many other “Korean style” items on their menu. The highlighting of Korean-style items at an ostensibly burger place signals “Korean-run.”

Checking Yelp, several users over the past few years confirm that Bob’s Burgers and Teriyaki is Korean-owned. One from several years ago:

I came here just on the namesake alone and was discouraged not to find a mustached burger engineer like the cartoon.. Instead I found Margaret Cho’s mom! Typical blunt Korean mama-san bustin customers balls because we came in so close to closing time..

    Another (posted yesterday):

I want to do as much as I can to support the local small businesses owned by South Korean immigrants in light of what’s been happening lately to a lot of Korean-American small businesses owners in western WA lately.

But the same guy who says he wants to support Korean small businesses denies that the Korean owners here were involved in the immigration hoax:

From all that I’ve read, the owners of the restaurant were NOT involved with the hoax. It was strictly staged by the employees

    I wouldn’t be so sure.

A: When they’re Arabists. Arguing for easier treatment for young, male “refugees”.

The struggles endured by men who remain inside Syria and the obstacles faced by others who choose to remove themselves from the fighting by fleeing the country demonstrate a need to redefine classic conceptions of vulnerability and to consider civilian men and their needs as part of a solution rather than a problem.

Blacks are major outliers who often explicitly reject the proposition of the proposition nation, who refuse to assimilate despite being born here and never visiting another country. It sounds totally plausible that immigrants of any gang affiliation are less violent or criminally experienced than our worst blacks.

In the UK, a new people-trafficking scam – you send 16 year old Vietnamese girls, quite legally, to posh boarding schools, paying the first term fees of around £12k, then the girl disappears to your nail bar or brothel or cannabis-growing operation (almost a Viet monopoly). Why run the risk of being suffocated in a lorry when you can get in safely?

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-7646527/People-smuggling-gangs-using-unsuspecting-British-private-schools-traffic-Vietnamese-children.html

An investigation by The Times has found that at least 21 Vietnamese children vanished from boarding schools and private colleges across Britain since 2014.

The majority of them were young women in Britain on a ‘private school visa’ – and at least one has never been traced.

Those tracked down were mainly working in nail bars, it is alleged.

Every Child Protected Against Trafficking, a charity working with child victims, says that Vietnamese referrals have spikes from 135 in 2012 to 704 in 2018..

The Times has spoken to whistleblowers at several major schools said to have taken in Vietnamese children who never finished their studies.

Eight Vietnamese children enrolled at the £25,000-a-year Chelsea Independent College in recent times. One girl left in the middle of the night causing a major ‘panic’, the newspaper said.

At Abbey College, Malvern, Worcestershire, a 16-year-old girl started in September 2017 but never came back after the Christmas break and was found working at a cash only nail bar 150 miles away in Yorkshire.

“A judge has heard that the same Dublin address used by a woman claiming €60,000 damages for personal injuries allegedly sustained in a car crash had been used in five other road traffic accident claims in a 14 month period.

Judge John O’ Connor, heard in the Circuit Civil Court today, that Linda Baltcepure (32) of Wikeford Hall, Applewood, Swords, Co Dublin, had not attended court and had withdrawn her damages claim against Zurich Insurance customer Jessica Kelly.

Barrister Paul McMorrow, counsel for Kelly and Zurich, said he had the greatest concern that fraud of a contrived nature was going to have been brought before the court if Baltcepure had shown up in court.

McMorrow, who appeared with David Culleton of DAC Beachcroft Solicitors, told Judge O’Connor that Baltcepure’s two-bedroom property had been used as the address in six car crash claims between January 2015 and April 2016.

He said Baltcepure had claimed she was the front seat passenger in a car driven by Nerijus Gaybys and that while they had stopped at Corkagh Park Roundabout near Baldonnel, Co Dublin, they had been rear ended by Ms Kelly’s car on 20 April, 2016.

McMorrow told the court that Gaybys had been the driver in four different car accidents out of which there had been 19 claims.

He said another passenger, known only to Baltcepure as “Andrei,” had been picked up by Gaybys on the night of the accident. He said this man had been involved in a separate rear-ending accident on another date for which he had been awarded damages.

Baltcepure had claimed in her civil bill she suffered whiplash injuries in the accident..”

If there are no current numbers regarding false rape accusations, it is because they don’t want to know. Of couse, these fall into the same category as how many times does having a gun prevent a crime? Where would you get that data???

Leo’s wife was formerly the Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney for a medium sized midwestern county with a large well-known state college campus (35K plus students). Of the couple dozen rape accusations they would field per year that came from campus…maybe ONE would be legit. The rest were flat out made up, or worse yet, the brainwashing that has been done of young women by the left has convinced them that if the man did not behave as the woman expected him to behave afterwards…well…then she was raped.

Thing is…today it is waaaay easier to investigate these crimes. In almost all cases, there are text messages, pictures, hell, even video…in one case, multiple text messages from a woman to her friends talking about how she was in a bar, and was going to take the guy home and screw his brains out…aaannnddd…she filed a rape report…btw, the father of said girl was thrilled when the parents were brought in to the prosecutor’s office for a pretrial conference where their daughter was still alleging rape, and the texts were revealed…priceless.

Another case…2 nice girls from a Jewish sorority texted each other about how they wanted to have a 4-way with some large ‘diverse’ members of the football team…which they did. Then they went shopping (video), then they filed a police report alleging rape…again, dad was thrilled when the texts were revealed in conference…

I could go on. Thing is…the police are actually really good at investigating these things because they do care about women being raped. My wife said that very very few of the cases were even close.

And as to filing charges against them…sometimes they can get them on filing a false police report, but they have to be able to prove that the girl KNEW it was false, which is more difficult than you may think, especially when these girls actually think that if the guy tells them to get lost afterwards, then they were raped.

HR 1044 (the “bring in enough legal Indians to permanently disemploy all whites” act) just passed the House.

Washington is (at least for now) a shall-issue concealed carry state

Since 1967, the first. Sadly, that was the same year they became the first shall-issue abortion state.

I suppose that’s “bipartisanship”. The twain did meet, once, in the Evergreen State.

Is Washington’s east-west divide growing wider?

Many immigrants work at the airport. . .Filipinos, Somalis, Hispanics. Also, they staff parking lots, rental car agencies and the like.

I’ve often said Minneapolis is a dry Seattle. It seems like Seattle is a wet Minneapolis, too.

Let’s put 1 and 1 together. On one hand, we have evidence that immigrants are nasty perpetrators. On the other, we have evidence that non-immigrants are more prone to breaking the law. What gives? I know: The Transportation Act of 1717!

Thank goodness, I am not working in IT. IT staff is more fungible than plumbers in the eyes of HR.

Even better, Indians have pretty much free access to Romania, and yet there are very few working in Romania in anything. The only exception is management in multinationals.

There’s also the old wave of Indians who are specialized in collecting recyclables from trash containers, and other people’s wallets.

If the Indians are as unskilled as you say they are, then white programmers have nothing to worry about, right?

The stats sounded phony to me, as if the report author was pushing some agenda, product or service – in order to sell deodorant, you first have to convince people that 95% of them smell bad

So you’ve never read any programmer comments. Okay. Whatever the state is, if 1044 passes, there will be more of it.

  64. @The Alarmist

SpDoes that count immigrants who broke the law by unlawful entry to the US, because their crime rate seems to be 100%?

    Good point!
