From the NYT:

Is Stacey Abrams Assembling a New Democratic Majority?

By Aimee Allison

Ms. Allison is president of Democracy in Color and the author of the forthcoming “She the People.”

April 30, 2018

When early voting begins today in the Georgia primary campaign for governor, Stacey Abrams, the former minority leader of the Georgia House of Representatives, may very well take a momentous step closer to becoming the first black woman in the nation to be elected governor.

Ms. Abrams will have entered that office lifted by the political power of a multiracial coalition led by the Democratic Party’s most powerful voting bloc, black women. Ms. Abrams’s Georgia campaign represents the first time a statewide candidate is embracing the political hopes and dreams of black women — who make up a whopping 30 percent of the Democrats in the Georgia primary (held on May 22) — as the engine of its campaign.

If successful, Ms. Abrams’s strategy and approach will establish a political precedent in the South and will subsequently offer Democrats a way to win in Republican strongholds in many parts of the country. …

By insisting on the strategy of appealing to white Republican and moderate voters, Democrats have lost over and over again with a population that is nearly a majority of people of color — specifically, voters of color who make up nearly half of the Democratic Party membership in Georgia and nationally. Even casual observations of these numbers and trends would indicate that Democrats do not need to persuade a single Trump voter to win.

The Abrams idea — that black women leading a multiracial bloc of voters will establish a new base — may also revolutionize American electoral politics. The math is clear: Black voters are a quarter of Democrats, and black women have the highest turnout. If Ms. Abrams advances from the Democratic primary to the general election for governor of Georgia, her multiracial base stands the best chance at turning Georgia blue.

Back in 2009 I pointed out that the Democrats wanted to brand the Republicans as the white party with themselves as the nonwhite party.

In 2008, McCain let Obama position himself to blacks as the black candidate, to other nonwhites as the nonwhite candidate, and to whites as the postracial candidate. Yet, unless treated as timidly as McCain handled his opponent in 2008, a black-led four-race coalition is an inherently fragile thing. …

But let’s be realistic. Being, in essence, the white party makes the GOP uncool. And that’s only going to get worse as the impact of decades of indoctrination in the uncoolness of white people by the school system and Main Stream Media continue to pile up.

Further, contra Karl Rove, the GOP will never be able to shake its white party image. It will either increase its share of the white vote or it will go out of business as a party capable of winning national power.

My suggestion: the only long-term option for the Republicans, the de facto white party, is to rebrand the Democrats as the de facto black party. Not the Minority Party or the Cool, Hip, Multicultural Party—but the Black Party.

Go with the flow of the fundamental Manichaeism of American thought: Black versus White. Sure, it’s kind of retarded, but Americans, especially American intellectuals and pundits, aren’t good at thinking in terms of shades of brown. You can’t beat it, so use it.

Hispanics and Asians certainly will never be terribly happy with the idea of being junior partners in the white party. (Indeed, lots of white people have an allergy to belonging to the white party.) Hence, the alternative must be framed that if Hispanics and Asians don’t want to be junior partners in the white party, they get be junior partners in the black party. Black or white: choose one.

Or they can not choose and stay home on Election Day.

The subtle cunning of the tactic of rebranding the Democrats as the black party is not to criticize the Democrats for being the vehicle of African-American political activism, but to praise them for it, over and over, in the most offhand “everybody-knows” ways. Republicans can hurry along the coming Democratic train wreck by, for example, lauding blacks as the “moral core” of the Democratic Party.

Respectfully point out that the Democratic Party is the rightful agent for the assertion of African-American racial interests, and that advancing black interests is central to the nature of the Democratic Party. Note that, while individual blacks wishing to vote for the good of the country are more than welcome in the GOP, black racial activists have their natural home in the Democratic Party.

That’s what the Democrats are there for. Don’t argue it. Just treat it as a given.

Moreover, Republican rhetoric should encourage feelings of proprietariness among blacks toward their Democratic Party. It’s not all that hard to get blacks to feel that they morally deserve something, such as, for example, predominance in the Democratic Party. African-Americans are good at feeling that others owe them deference.

This kind of subtle language, casually repeated, puts Democrats in a delicate spot. Either they insult blacks by denying this presumption, or they alarm their Asian, Hispanic, and white supporters by not denying it. As everybody knows, but seldom says, black political control hasn’t worked out well for places as far apart as Detroit and Zimbabwe.

But now the Democrats appear headed to rebranding themselves not just as the Black Party but as the Black Women Party.

  1. ‘…Being, in essence, the white party…’

If you’re in Essence you’re not the white party.

  2. Reading over the pull quote from your black party link there, I’d say what you got wrong was about white people not being cool.

As we’ve all endured the past few years(though it seems much longer) of nattering ninnies and harping harpies, harping and nattering on about micro-aggression this, disparate whip whap that.

What has undeniably taken place is that white people have taken on an indubitable patina of cool, at least the sturdier sort among them.

Remember that dude yelling PEPE!! when Hilltron was harping on? Ultimate cool…

Even Kanye gets it, he gets it.

Unfortunately, the republicans are too stuck on the Democrats being the real racists and talking about freeing the Democrats’ slaves. Asians and Hispanics don’t like blacks (except for some celebrities) so their having to play eternal second and third fiddles to blacks would make for a fractured coalition of the fringes. That would be fun to watch.

Explicit ethnic politics is a foregone conclusion in the future US, which has experienced demographic changes in the past 25 years unprecedented in human history. This is not the same nation I was born into in the 1990s: I can only imagine what it is like for older posters here. Living in Malaysia is pretty insightful because you get to see what this brand of entrenched ethnic politics is like for yourself, what the US has only seen in localized, limited doses in places like Chicago in previous eras. The big challenge for future wise politicians will be making the new state of things work-and that’s going to be pretty different from what Americans are used to.

That said, the Coalition of the Fringes as the Left envisions it is a fundamentally unreal construction that is only kept together by two things:

    1) Anti “old America” animus, particularly against white males. It speaks volumes about the mental distance from reality that liberal ideologues-usually themselves upper-middle class whites-have that they think this will be anything near sufficient to form a long-term coherent political coalition, given what we expect future America will be like, in terms of structural and socioeconomic problems. It’s common here to point out the bizarre romance between feminism and Islam, but the problem goes far deeper. FOB upper-bourgeois Chinese immigrants, working class Salvadoran illegals, and older Democratic constituencies, such as blacks, have drastically diverging interests that even in better times for America would be hard to reconcile. That’s before we bring in the upper-middle class whites driving the whole thing. The upper-middle class has grown tremendously in the past 25 years-they’ve done very well, but at the expense of screwing everybody who doesn’t make it to their ledger into increasingly neo-feudal status. It would not hard for some American Diocletian or Bismarck to politically exploit that, given the proper will and long-term tactical intelligence.

Ethnic politics will definitely be a thing, but they are delusional if they think it is going to be anything like “cishet white males making below 100,000 and above 20,000 vs. everybody else”. In particular, as Hispanics rise in wealth, heft, and in large parts of the US, assimilation, they are probably not going to be satisfied with playing second fiddle to blacks in the Democratic Party. This isn’t to endorse ludicrous Rovian fantasies about Hispanics going for Chamber of Commerce wet dreams in tandem with amnesty, of course-a fantasy that could only in part only blossom given the rather unique conditions of 1970s, 1980s and 1990s Texas, economically speaking. But a conservatism more concerned with national cohesion and strength-meaning a concern for the fate of average citizens-than the whims of private interest lobbies might be a different story.

(Also-given that upwardly mobile Hispanics and Asians are likely to intermarry with whites, and that a post-post-1992 right-wing is probably going to be far more open with things like birth control and abortion, I wouldn’t suggest that demographics necessarily favor the left as much as they think they do. They think in terms of historical inevitability, our SJW friends. Far more intelligent, tough, and ruthless leftists fell for the same conceit during the Cold War. Go look for them now.)

    2) The GOP’s fetishization of clearly failed Bush-era ideology, which I suspect will remain radioactive for decades. There’s many sticking points here-the disastrous results of “duty based” foreign policy (whether pushed by neoliberals, neoconservatives, or the dissenting left) is a big one, as Trump exploited in 2016. But above all else, there is the fetishization of Chamber of Commerce platitudes about the market and Job Creators beyond basic common sense. The nomination of Mitt Romney in 2012 and the attempt to nominate Jeb Bush in 2016 says more than any words can, and it was only because Trump was a billionaire who never failed to get free, compulsive media attention that the K-Street boys didn’t get what they wanted in 2016.

Or, rather, the explicit rigging of that market to favor crony capitalists and employers over yeoman businesses. Many of the plutocrats who the GOP enthusiastic gives tax cuts to are open Democratic partisans, anyway. But besides, where in Adam Smith does it say that employers are excused from the laws of supply and demand and should have a permanent immigration subsidy rather than paying out higher wages as per normal market mechanisms? Wouldn’t it be smarter to bring out the legacy of the Trust Buster, Theodore Roosevelt, rather than the legacy of George Will and Charlie Krauthammer? What are Google and Facebook if not trusts?

This point cannot be emphasized enough: young Americans, who on average know very well they are the first generation who are going to make less than their parents and probably will have worse lives with worse health care and worse education for their kids (if they can even afford to start families at all-one can’t help but wonder if that’s part of what the Left wants, on some level), are simply not going to be buying the pseudo-Randian nonsense the GOP has been propagating since the Cold War ended. That doesn’t mean they won’t be open to right-wing ideology. But it’ll have to be… actual right-wing ideology, not classical liberalism disguised as such, and it’ll have to defend a system worth defending. A system that defends the interests of any one class or tribe rather than the strength and well-being nation as a whole is not one worth defending. This is why the new right will be in the odd position of playing the revolutionary for a bit. That’s part of why Steve Sailer is far more the future than conventional right-wing pundits. He fits the part well-he’s witty, he’s irreverent, he’s not solemn and pompous, a little bit “punkish”, etc.

    It’s been fun.

This isn’t anything new to Democratic politics and I don’t see why it couldn’t persist. The Democrats’ New Deal coalition which dominated politics for decades was based on the same principle: a minority coalition of Catholics, Jews, northern urbanites, Southerners, intellectuals against the middle and upper class Midwestern and Northern WASPs of the Republican Party. The various elements of the New Deal coalition didn’t like each other either. Mutual love and respect weren’t what united them.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_deal_coalition

The New Deal coalition was the alignment of interest groups and voting blocs in the United States that supported the New Deal and voted for Democratic presidential candidates from 1932 until the late 1960s. It made the Democratic Party the majority party during that period, losing only to Dwight D. Eisenhower, a pro-New Deal Republican, in 1952 and 1956. Franklin D. Roosevelt forged a coalition that included the Democratic state party organizations, city machines, labor unions, blue collar workers, minorities (racial, ethnic, and religious), farmers, white Southerners, people on relief, and intellectuals.[1] The coalition began to fall apart with the bitter factionalism during the 1968 election, but it remains the model that party activists seek to replicate.[2]

And go ahead and keep valorizing mentally defective males who want to wear dresses and use the bathroom with other peoples’ daughters (and who threaten to beat up other people in disagreement).

Although explicit white nationalism would most certainly turn off Hispanic and Asian voters (and many whites), for obvious reasons of self-preservation, citizenism tinged with de facto white majoritarianism would sell well with at least a significant fraction of those voters, especially with Asians. And once a large white majority is locked down by the GOP, it just needs a fraction of the rest of the non-black votes.

In other words, we need to see more of this:

Note the name of the uploader.

We need to turn this into a electoral contest between those who are for civilization (within which we may argue differing views in a civil manner) and those who are for necklacing, rhetorical or otherwise.

    http://www.powerlineblog.com/archives/2018/04/new-frontiers-in-racial-bias.php

This Power Line post links to an extraordinary proposed Minnesota state law that would set up a special regulatory apparatus just to review any attempt to remove black kids from their parent(s).

The back story is that black parents beat the shit out of their misbehaving kids, more so than whites. Corporal punishment is a no no in Minnesota, so black kids get disproportionately removed from the home.

What the black community really wants to do is to define whooping as part of black culture, to be cherished and protected. Apparently that has bad optics (although personally I’m not that much against CP).

So the solution is to propose a really complicated law that will set up a large review committee with support staff, all black, which will act as a big, obfuscating mess to discourage talking black kids away from parents who beat them.

Hilariously, the law doesn’t explicitly mention spanking. What it does is list up every conceivable variety of violence except spanking in a really long list, and say that those, and only those, can justify taking the kid away.

How such a for-blacks-only law could be legal is beyond me.

Remember when the great Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson got in all sorts of trouble for whupping his small son with a stick for disobedience?

My feeling was that any son of Adrian Peterson’s is probably one tough little hombre, and therefore it might take traditional Peterson family measures to get his full attention.

  18. AndrewR says:

While I don’t endorse “explicit white nationalism” except in my angriest moments, many “Hispanic” voters would not be turned off by it given that many “Hispanics” are white.

  19. @Anon

In reality, the black kids are not removed because of spanking or beating. Just like the police who overlook most minor crimes in crime-ridden neighborhoods, the child protection people overlook black moms and grandmas beating kids because they would otherwise be overwhelmed. The more realistic complaint is that white children are removed for more minor infractions by their parents, probably sometimes because child protection workers expect more from the parents.

Aside from differences in parenting abilities, the biggest reason black children are placed in foster care is because of a lack of qualified relatives who can care for them when their parents can’t. If the state wants to take kids out of the home, they immediately look for relatives. If they can place them with a grandparent or aunt, the kids can avoid foster care. But having a criminal history or your own history with child protection disqualifies you, so many black kids can’t be placed with relatives unless the state decides to overlook the history. It is an actual cycle.

  20. I recall Peterson had just met his “son” for the second time , and the beating occurred at the annual meet your daddy cook-out, held once each year in Minnesota. This gives Peterson the opportunity to spend some time with his 7 children , who have 7 different mothers and live in different states.

  21. @Steve Sailer

Adrian went too far for anyone to ignore it. In most places, parents are safe if they use their hands and don’t leave a permanent mark or severe bruising. When child protection workers investigate a close case, they will instruct the parents about what is acceptable. It actually works to reduce the severity of future beatings, because many parents do what Adrian did without realizing it is considered excessive. When the standard is explained to them, they will administer more creative beatings that result in a lot less physical harm. Hard slaps to the side of the head instead of closed fists to the face. Hands instead of switches. Pushups instead of electric cords.

I always thought the state should do a public health campaign to advise parents of the standards. They seem to think this will encourage more beatings, but I think it will have the opposite effect and be a net good. There are a small but significant number of black children that suffer very severe injuries or death every year from excessive punishment. I put this up with mandatory swimming lessons in school as a way for the government to actually make life better for black children.

The other Democratic candidate for governor, also named Stacey, is a moderate Nice White Lady from the suburbs (with endorsements from local retired white Democratic politicians) who might be able to swing the crucial demo of suburban Nice White Ladies. Stacey Abrams is like a Democratic Karl Rove, someone whose strategy is innumerate. Blacks are something like almost 30% of registered voters in Georgia. If they are that much of actual voters, and you get 90% of them, that’s 27% of the vote. Where are you going to get the other 23% you need to get to 50? Atlanta has some white homosexuals and other leftists, but otherwise you need suburban Nice White Ladies (rural white people aren’t going for Abrams, that’s for sure, but a few might go for her Nice White Lady opponent).

The coalition of the fringes will never fall apart. That’s because it isn’t really a coalition to begin with, at least not in the ordinary sense. It makes no difference that the Left is composed of motley factions whose identities and interests seem opposed to one another. Leftist identity issues are only catchwords and banners under which the various marauding bands mount their campaigns. But the real side of politics—the tactical side—takes no notice of them.

Liberalism is not really an ideology. Or rather, it has an ideology, but the whole vast intellectual superstructure that has been built up, say, from Rousseau through Marx and up to the present day social justice warriors, belongs only to the realm of literature and drawing room philosophy. It has spellbound many a savant, paupers and princes alike, and inspired them to write tome after tome of paeans to equality, economic justice, and the rights of man. But this has never interfered with, or in the least bit altered, the course of liberalism as a force in the field of action.

For liberalism in its essence is the pure practical politics of the coup, nothing more. It is the martial art by which the disenfranchised and embarrassed factions seek to reappoint themselves to the goods of this world. It proceeds through the well-worn techniques of bureaucratic capture, rentseeking, demagoguery, and collusion with the enemy. It is singularly focused on gaining power, hence its improbable success. The development of Communism from a handful of sick and cranky exiles to a half-global empire would be inexplicable otherwise.

It follows naturally from this that liberalism can readily adapt itself to the needs of any minority, any faction, any newcomer, and adventurous force. This, indeed, is precisely what it was designed to do. Thus, the feminist and the Islamist alike find in liberalism a toolbox of ready-made techniques perfectly serviceable to their own objectives. The “coalition of the fringes” is nothing but the momentary assemblage of all those with an eye on the throne, united to one another not by intellectual affinity but by tactical necessity. This bond runs deeper than the Leftist identity issues, which are mere surface-shaping. United by a common thrall to power, their brotherhood will not be broken save by total victory or crushing defeat. For as long as revolt is possible but not yet accomplished, the coalition shall remain.

The battle against liberalism is very much a battle within oneself, for we are all liberals at heart. Human nature is “liberal” in its very core, in its self-seeking and mawkishness, in its easy corruptibility, its vanity and pretension. How few there are in any era who will rise up to defend the true and rightful king solely out of piety, out of love for truth and order. To be “on the Right” means to recognize that the stakes are ultimate, it means to take the fateful step out of oneself, away from ease and comfort, away from life itself if necessary, and to place oneself entirely at the service of the truth. The Rightist cannot avoid a direct confrontation with the abyss at the very center of our being.

Any “conservative” movement which stops short of this point is, at best, only preparatory. It will never hold out against the relentless onslaught of the coalition. The Right needs Traditional Christianity, it needs transcendent hope, and it needs a leader who can take the Paths of the Dead. As the power of the Left grows and grows, it seems that a frightful question has been left for this age to decide. It is never comfortable to face the ultimate question, but by this we shall stand or fall.

A rediscovered manuscript of a book of interviews with a black slave, written in huckleberry-finny dialect, is being published. It’s titled “Barracoon,” which means a barricade for c — uh, black slaves. Praised by Alice Walker, who wrote an introduction.

The writer/interviewer was a black female writer. The book was not published in her lifetime because she refused to render the heavy black vernacular into normal English.

Readers may be familiar with Joel Chandler Harris, the writer/folklorist responsible for preserving the Bre’r Rabbit lode of black African folklore, written in transcribed dialect. Harris has been endlessly trashed by lefty anthropologists and black studies types, and by Alice Walker, for various reasons, including writing in minstrel show dialect.

Christianity was another religion that developed from “a handful of sick and cranky exiles to a half-global empire” and for similar reasons. So was Islam.

That isn’t even remotely close to being anything like the truth, and anybody who would seriously assert as much can only be historically illiterate to point of total obliviousness. Neither are the two cases you mentioned at all comparable to one another. Islam, for instance, was an extremely popular Protestantizing movement that impelled a swarm of formerly Christians, Jews, Mazdaists, and Nestorians before it, turning them all into “Muslims” without in the least affecting any change in their internal constitution. The West knows nothing quite like it, because our Muhammad (Oliver Cromwell) was mercifully beat back by the forces of reaction. The closest successful analogue to Muhammadanism in the West is, in fact, Americanism (ponder that if you will).

Christianity, meanwhile, has divine origins and cannot be fully understood apart from the histories of grace and revelation. In the material sphere its history is bewilderingly long and complicated. But one thing early Christianity certainly wasn’t was a manifestation of political will. Christians had no designs on taking over the Roman Empire and were often at great pains to demur the entire political question, even to the point of tactlessness. The lives and deaths of Sts. Peter and Paul display this most admirably.

Neither Christianity nor Islam presents anything like the case of Communism, wherein an initially very small fringe group was able to rise up, mount an internal revolt, and by main force overthrow both ancient empires and the established church. Communism relentlessly set itself upon its enemies and murdered them; it murdered them by the tens of millions. The Church, the peasantry, the old aristocratic orders, the entire ancien regime—all of it murdered by the Communists. Say what you will about them, but they were conquerors par excellence and they knew their work.

Once you understand Leftism (it’s wrong to call it liberalism – there is nothing liberal about it) as the new, post-Christian religion then it all makes sense.

In Traditionalist circles, this is what’s known as very, very, very old hat. The line from Protestantism through Puritanism, Deism, Rationalism, Socialism and up to the present day oligo-capitalist philistinism is historically quite established and incontestable. Why you would think I wouldn’t know this is mystifying given that I’ve written about that subject before right here on this very blog. The point you seem to be missing is that Traditional Christianity is not Protestant and has nothing to do with any of that other stuff, either.

I am not sure that the Old Religion is the one that can fight it. It may be the only thing that stands a chance but its flaws (e.g. that it is sometimes more concerned with the afterlife than with this life) are what paved the opening for the New Religion in the first place.

Let us be charitable here. Let us not draw excessive attention to the fact that this completely contradicts everything you said in your first paragraph. Let us not dwell upon the raging imbecility of believing both that religion is “flawed” in not caring enough about this world but also that its #1 job is to increase numbers. Let us not wax philosophical about how every good aim must envisage a kingdom of justice that lies beyond the ken of the senses. Let us only point out that this is the kind of mealy-mouthed tripe that tenth-rate socialist grammar school teachers were saying a hundred years ago.

In other words, it’s not just dreck. It’s old, stale, flaccid dreck. The persistence of such sentiments in a grown man of today is an embarrassing curiosity.

Wow, 7 with 7! I wonder where that falls in the history of sports.

Have you seen the iSteve Cromartie Index topic? Not quite what you are asking (since it adds in Wonderlic IQ), but might give some perspective on your question: http://www.unz.com/isteve/ci-cromartie-index/

The Cromartie Index (CI) is “take the sum of children and mothers and divide it by his Wonderlic score.”

    Cromartie’s 2014 CI was: (12 + 8) / 12 = 1.67
    It looks like his current CI is (14 + 8) / 12 = 1.83

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antonio_Cromartie

Though given the 6 children by the same woman perhaps simple addition is not the best way to combine children and mothers.

A CI > 1 is considered elite territory and the second comment at Steve’s post mentions:

Steve, here’s former Buffalo Bills running back Travis Henry.

11 children, 10 baby mamas, Wonderlic score 9. That gives a Cromartie index of 2.33.

His Wiki page states “at least”: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Travis_Henry#Personal_life

    For comparison (comment 5):

    McInally’s Cromartie Index: 0.06

    (2+1)/50 = 0.06

    Adrian Peterson’s Wonderlic score was 16: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1536402-comparing-wonderlic-scores-of-nfl-stars
    So his CI is (7 + 7) / 16 = 0.875

Definitely an underperformer in comparison to Cromartie and Henry.

    Also see https://www.unz.com/isteve/adrian-petersons-random-family/

P.S. Anyone know of any other CI >= 2 cases? If someone wants to look, this is probably a good start: http://wonderlictestsample.com/nfl-wonderlic-scores/
As is this (which speaks more to your original question as well, note the NBA is well represented but no Wonderlic scores): http://www.complex.com/sports/2012/06/big-poppa-the-athletes-with-the-most-children-by-the-most-women/

People’s concerns about the next world oddly take the form of behaviors to broadcast to other people about how devout they are. In other words, social signaling. It is not a problem of Old Religion since it is inherent to human religion.

That said, the problem with Christianity is that the New Testament, taken literally, endorses progressivism. Fortunately, people will disbelieve their lying eyes so the real issue is that priests instead of warriors are interpreting the bible. Unfortunately the way to solve this issue is for society to get to a state where warriors reclaim their status. Either collapse or large scale warfare.

Just because my diagnosis of the failures of the Old Religion is old hat does not make it wrong.

Correct. But neither does it make it OUR “Old Religion” does it? It’s an alien Semitic mythology used as a tool to replace our true Old Religion and install a new political order. That it began two millennia ago is irrelevant to this truth.

It’s really striking to me that we have today, real and tangible evidence, proof that we diverged from bantus 50,000-70,000 years ago and Pygmy/Khoi/San as much as 250,000 years ago, but History began for these fanatics with the imposition of an alien mythology 2,000 years ago. And that these same aliens are conspiring to control us today, but the answer lies in the unquestioned belief in their fairy tale.

The original group of white Christian men (many of whom hoped to become Protestant clergy ) is long gone as the predominant group. White Christian men are now a tiny percentage of the students enrolled, as well as the faculty. . 111. The subtle cunning of the tactic of rebranding the Democrats as the black party is not to criticize the Democrats for being the vehicle of African-American political activism, but to praise them for it, over and over, in the most offhand “everybody-knows” ways.

Trumpy should cut out this treasonous crap about continuing on with the H-2B guest worker visa scam. The H-2B visa scam is an attack on the sovereignty of the United States and it is an attack on the workers of the United States.

I would imagine that at least 80 percent of the people who voted for Trumpy would like to see a total and complete halt to all immigration — both legal and illegal.

The H-2B visa is a treasonous scam designed to flood foreigners into the United States in order to satiate the greed of the CHEAP LABOR HOGS in the GOP and the Democrat Party.

The greed for ill-gotten cheap labor gains emanating from the mass immigration supporting Cheap Labor Hogs shall never be quenched. Trumpy must admit a mea culpa on his own use of the H-2B visa scam, and he must call for a complete and total halt to the H-2B visa scam and all other guest worker scams.

For most northern Europeans, the Old Religion is not even that old. Lithuania did not adopt Christianity until 1387. I disagree about it being Semitic though. It may have started out Semitic but somewhere along the way it acquired a Greco-Roman character. Whatever it was, Luther understood that it was foreign to the northern European character and the modern world (with both its scientific wealth and its scientific horrors) could not have come into being until the Old Religion with its smoke and miracles was banished.

An important proclamation from President Trump:

President Donald Trump Proclaims May Jewish History Month

Jewish Americans have helped guide the moral character of our Nation. They have maintained a strong commitment to engage deeply in American society while also preserving their historic values and traditions. Their passion for social justice and showing kindness to strangers is rooted in the beliefs that God created all people in his image and that we all deserve dignity and peace. These beliefs have inspired Jewish Americans to build mutual-support societies, hospitals, and educational institutions that have enabled them and their fellow Americans to advance American society. Jewish Americans marched for civil rights in Selma and fought for the freedom of their brethren behind the Iron Curtain. Through their actions, they have made the world a better place.

The contributions of the Jewish people to American society are innumerable, strengthening our Nation and making it more prosperous. American Jews have proudly served our country in all branches of government, from local to Federal, and they have defended our freedom while serving in the United States Armed Forces. The indelible marks that American Jews have left on literature, music, cinema, and the arts have enriched the American soul. In their enduring tradition of generosity, Jewish Americans have established some of the largest philanthropic and volunteer networks in the Nation, providing humanitarian aid and social services to those in need at home and abroad, acting as a “light unto the nations.” Universities and other institutions around the country proudly display Nobel prizes won by Jewish Americans in the fields of medicine, chemistry, physics, and economics.

In reaction to Mordecai Noah’s 1818 discourse, Thomas Jefferson wrote that American laws protect “our religious as they do our civil rights by putting all on an equal footing.” The American Jewish community is a shining example of how enshrining freedom of religion and protecting the rights of minorities can strengthen a nation. Through their rich culture and heritage, the Jewish people have triumphed over adversity and enhanced our country. For this and many other reasons, the American Jewish community is deserving of our respect, recognition, and gratitude.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim May 2018 as Jewish American Heritage Month. I call upon all Americans to celebrate the heritage and contributions of American Jews and to observe this month with appropriate programs, activities, and ceremonies.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand eighteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-second.

The more likely answer is the people creating these shows just live in a bubble.

I think this is a large part of the truth. If you look at most modern kids TV or movies and compare them to old Disney products, it is evident that those who create most of the modern works do not get outside much and instead just marinade in a stew of entertainment. These creators of entertainment have a background like Tarantino’s video store days except with less social interaction.

So what seems to happen is that the world of entertainment has become a recursive fantasy of trope upon trope upon trope where generations of film school nerds have been successively untethered from reality. CGI has not helped matters at all.

This does give them the ability to be familiar with how to create entertainment, at the expense of realism.

Civic nationalism seems more communitarian than classical liberal to me. Arguably communitarianism should arise from classical liberalism, since the social health of the community is what allows classical liberal ideals to flourish in practice. There’s been a lot of rubbish written about the benefits of “enlightened self-interest” to society without ever providing an explanation of the “enlightened” part because that would threaten the premise of the argument. A communitarian ethos modulating self-interest is what makes it enlightened. Short-sighted Randian pinheads are as much a danger to classical liberalism as are authoritarian Communists.

So when work was needed, no one locally knew jack shit about it. The heavy truck places wouldn’t touch it, and although I had a full set of amnuals, there were things I could not figure out about it.

I told a friend about it who was an EAA member and one of the guys in his chapter was a retired A&P who had moonlighted for a company that repaired two cycle Detroit Diesels used in packaged gensets designed to run reefer chillers on rail cars. This guy was Fonzie incarnate. Drove a Cadillac with the trunk packed full of tools, wore a leather bomber jacket, DA hair cut, the whole nine yards. Showed me exactly how to run the rack and what tools I’d need to keep the beast going in twenty minutes.

And a “former” Pharisee, persecutor of Jesus’ followers, Paul (formerly Saul), jumped in to instill some of that good ol’ Jewish intolerance into the nascent Gentile Christians. Gotta keep that “God’s Chosen People” racket rolling.

I’m with Nietzsche, who called Paul the greatest disaster ever to befall the teachings of and examples set by Jesus, who asserted the primacy of love and foregiveness, rather than the harshness and intolerance that his culture had assumed. But never fear, along came good ol’ Saul, er Paul, to make sure that the old ways would resume, albeit the fist would henceforth be thinly veiled in the velvet glove of his patristic “guidance”. Mysticism be damned, power must be had through passive aggression, the dead skull disguised under its stretched and dessicated skin by a smile more akin to the rictus of death. Pauline Christianity as more an expression of a Will to Power than of an extension of Jesus’ teaching and life.

A pattern: Jews jump in to organize the Negroes; Jews jump in to take over the leadership of Feminism; and on and on. Hmm. Who benefits the most from these power relationships? Maybe the people hag-ridden by a sense of the need to control everything, cramming the mundane details of life into some set of irrational taboos claiming an origin with a sadistic, jealous Semitic thunder god? Might lead to a really dysfunctional sado-masochistic society, and toxic to those it ground under its heel. A people who never managed to hold up their end of the purported Covenant, always trying to lawyer their way into an extension. Jesus was their escape hatch, and they killed him ’cause he exposed the cheesy little rackets they were running during his time through his words and example.

I am also impressed with Oswald Spengler’s theory of religio-cultural pseudomorphism, wherein an alien religion and ideology gain the whip hand over the pagans, namely a Semitic religion and cultural matrix dominating a formerly Greek, Roman, Celtic, Germanic, etc. Western world and imposing a “false form” onto the mindset and cultural expressions of the populace. Thought provoking.

About the same as other Southerners in the same economic class. The idea that the Jews were somehow especially involved in slavery or slave trading is an anti-Semitic canard. They were not uninvolved but their involvement was not materially greater (or less) than their non-Jewish neighbors and since Jews formed such a tiny part of the population of the South, this meant that 99% of slaves were owned by non-Jews.

OT very good ranging piece at Occidental describing Nisa-Nashim, where British Jewesses and Muslimas come together to blame phantom Nazis for Jew-enabled Muslim anti-Semitic violence.

    http://www.theoccidentalobserver.net/2018/04/30/black-saints-white-demons-the-martyr-cult-of-stephen-lawrence/

Opening the event, Nisa-Nashim co-founder Laura Marks said: “Antisemitic hate incidents have reached a record level in the UK. Anti-Muslim hate crime has increased, both here and abroad. But what we are focussing on is the need to stick together — and genuinely support each other — no ifs, no buts, no what abouts, just friendship and support.” … (Jewish and Muslim women pledge to work together to combat hate, The Jewish Chronicle, 24th April 2018
Laura Marks doesn’t mention that “Antisemitic hate incidents” have risen because of mass immigration by Muslims. As Mehdi Hasan said in the New Statesman back in 2013: “… anti-Semitism isn’t just tolerated in some sections of the British Muslim community; it’s routine and commonplace.” Laura Marks and her soul-sisters have to pretend otherwise, or they would undermine the anti-White and anti-Christian aims of “Nisa-Nashim, Britain’s Jewish-Muslim women’s network.”

Later it mentions a tragic reminder of how unassimilated communities hold themselves back by choice: a good black, who heroically interrupted a rape (and more heroically agreed to testify against the rapists), was blasted to death by a shotgun. This might have been done by the friends of the slime he stopped from raping people. The police have said the motive was unclear.

Hard to say, because there is some debate on the overall share of families with slaves. But it appears that Jews owned slaves at a similar rate to Christian whites, or possibly higher overall but the same adjusted for socioeconomic class.

SC was both the most Jewish southern state and along with MS was the state with the largest number of slaves relative to total population, while the border states had both few slaves and few Jews.

Many of the early Jewish immigrants to the South came with money made in Holland or the Caribbean, so were better able to afford slaves than, say indentured servant immigrants from Europe. For example, Hamilton’s half-Jewish half-brother, though he converted to Christianity at some point.

    Follow-up:

Losing her composure in a widely-viewed interview, a clearly terrorized lawyer representing a class-action lawsuit against the Democratic National Committee today pleaded for the audience to investigate for themselves the recent deaths of a number of figures associated with possible actions and research regarding the Clinton Foundation, the Mayo Clinic, and the DNC.
The lawsuit in which Elizabeth Lee Beck is a lead attorney for the plaintiffs, Wilding et al vs. DNC and Deborah Wasserman-Schultz, alleges that the DNC did not maintain a neutral posture between the campaigns of Sanders and Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic primaries. The plaintiffs, who are Bernie Sanders supporters, say the DNC was committed to helping Clinton win the nomination.
Beck began the broadcast by reading a factual summary of links between the Clinton Foundation, the Mayo Clinic, and the recent, mystery-shrouded deaths of Peter W. Smith, Florida federal prosecutor Beranton J. Whisenant Jr., and former Haitian official Klaus Oberwein. Then, as if suddenly seized with fear and struggling with tears as the interviewer probed further about the deaths, Beck broke down saying:
    “I don’t know what’s going on. I don’t know what’s going on.”
Beck noted that a friend who had bid her and her husband to “be safe” recently was also a friend of Beranton J. Whisenant, who washed up on a Florida shore last May, with what police say is trauma to the head, possibly a gunshot, according to the Miami Herald. Whisenant was an attorney in the South Florida District’s Federal Prosecutor office working on visa fraud and illegal immigration cases [and, according to other sources, investigating the DNC].

Even taken with a grain of snark, Steve is making an excellent point nonetheless, especially to note that the Democrats’ rebrand isn’t merely the Black Party, but specifically the Black Women Party.

It’s not so much that whites are cooler now in the public imagination relative to five or ten years ago, they’re about the same really. The difference is in perception of blacks. People are slow to notice the change, because of years of indoctrination about MLK, Frederick Douglass and Harriet Tubman, but there’s been a slow change nonetheless.

“Multi-ethnic”/”mixed”/”multi-racial” still seems forward-thinking and cool, whereas “black” seems fixated on controversies and historical issues many people just might not care very much about. This is emphasized especially regarding the perception of black women vs. black men.

Black men still have the cachet of hip-hop and NBA stars, even if it’s only a minute fraction of black men who have any legitimate connection to them. But black women are associated with low-level employees of marginally functioning government bureaucracies, and loud beefs over their immediate social situation, without the savvy cattiness that white women have.

There’s so much drama associated with blackness: busing, slavery, crime, racism, police brutality, Jim Crow, incarceration, IQ, whatever. What people are starting to notice without as much drama, is that beyond all those things, a lot of black culture is dull, uneducated, uncultured, and uninteresting.

The only reason why this doesn’t work, or at least hasn’t worked so far, is that the Democrats aren’t yet the Black Party, or even the Multiracial Party. At the moment, they are the White Upper-Middle Class Party. Sharpton and Jackson have been around for along time and haven’t taken over yet. When push comes to shove, the Democrats’ winnowing out process has been effective enough.

Are any iSteve Book Club members planning on reading Carl Zimmer’s She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity, coming out at the end of this month? It would be nice to be able to discuss it here in the comments. It’s almost majesterial at 672 pages. (If I’m not mistaken, the international standard for a majesterial book is now set at 800 pages, although we tradionalists insist that a book be 1,000 pages long before it can be called majesterial.)

    https://www.amazon.com/She-Has-Her-Mothers-Laugh-ebook/dp/B075PVZRQ1/

    Kirkus:

A fascinating journey through the history of heredity

Books on the current revolution in genetics are not in short supply, so New York Times columnist Zimmer (Science Writing/Yale Univ.; A Planet of Viruses, 2011, etc.) casts his net more widely in a delightful history of efforts to discover why offspring resemble their parents but sometimes don’t and how scientists are learning how to change matters. “Very often genes cannot give us what we really want from heredity,” he writes. “Each of us carries an amalgam of fragments of DNA, stitched together from some of our many ancestors.”

As a journalist, the author believes that readers want to hear a story through the eyes of an individual, so he chooses one: himself. After having his genome sequenced, he showed the results to researchers so that they could interpret them. It turns out that he carries genes for two serious diseases; luckily, his wife does not. Zimmer shares many identical genes with a typical Nigerian and typical Chinese person.

In case readers are in doubt, every expert agrees that genetics disproves the existence of traditional races. The inheritance of intelligence has made impressive progress despite no agreement on a definition. Though IQ tests don’t measure it, per se, they do measure something worth having. People with a high IQ do better in life and live longer.

Zimmer does not ignore famous historical oddities such as the Elephant Man, but he pays more attention to how humans inherit common diseases, height, skin color, aging, intelligence, and other traits. It’s a search that begins with hokum—Jews were once considered disease-prone and unintelligent—and ends with captivating knowledge. A brief glossary will help readers with such terms as “endosymbiont” and “pluripotent.”

A thoroughly enchanting tour of big questions, oddball ideas, and dazzling accomplishments of researchers searching to explain, manipulate, and alter inheritance.

    Razib Khan:

Almost done with She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity. To be honest I’m a little relieved that there wasn’t that much focus on the “perversions” of heredity. Lots of interesting stuff. This is definitely a book that scientists and lay people could benefit from.

Carl is a great writer so he makes rather abstruse concepts clear and engaging to nonspecialists. As for those of us who have our noses close to the ground, we sometimes lose the bigger perspective. There is a lot of interesting research that he surfaces in She Has Her Mother’s Laugh that I wasn’t very familiar with, though I had probably read about it or seen it in one of his columns (or Ed Yong’s).
    :
Finished She Has Her Mother’s Laugh: The Powers, Perversions, and Potential of Heredity. To be honest I was pleasantly surprised that the narrative wasn’t overly fixated on the ‘perversions.’ Sometimes it’s hard to move past that.

I think different people will benefit from reading the book differently. If you are a layperson a serial reading from front to back is optimal. She Has Her Mother’s Laugh is a long book, so this will take a while. But you need to do this to get situated. If you are a geneticist, you may benefit from jumping around chapters, and sampling what people in other fields are doing. Additionally, some geneticists would actually benefit from reading the historical chapters.

Cops Called on Black Man Moving Into His Own UWS Apartment

Darren Martin, a former White House employee under President Obama, was trying to move into his new apartment at 56 West 106th street on Friday night when six police officers suddenly showed up. It turned out that someone (presumably one of his new neighbors) had called the cops on Martin, and he’s pretty sure he knows why. It’s because he was #movingwhileblack.

Just as I was thinking how it would only be fair to have some sympathy for the decent blacks that undoubtedly at least sometimes find themselves, through no fault of their own, in such unenviable circumstances as that described above, I read,

A police spokesman told us they got a call at 11:26 p.m. “The 911 caller stated that someone was trying to break into the door…a person trying to open the doors on the floor, banging on the doors.

Even considering nothing more than the ordinary noise involved in moving, one has to ask: How prudent is it, for anyone, to do so at such an hour? How considerate of one’s new neighbors?

Might this even, perhaps, have been a deliberately-staged ‘awareness-raising’ stunt?

I would have posted this to the recent Upper West Side Parents Not Pleased with Public School Diversity Push thread but feared that by this point, almost no one would see any new comments there. If watching infighting among sanctimonious Goodwhite-types trying to out virtue-signal each other is your thing, then you will probably not want to miss this and any number of the other comment threads at the afore-linked West Side Rag.

  215. Ms. Abrams will have entered that office lifted by the political power of a multiracial coalition led by the Democratic Party’s most powerful voting bloc, black women.

Someone is slicing up the balcony and tossing it about. Blacks vote BLACK, but they don’t vote women (see 2016/Hillary and Congressional/Senate races since 2010) into office the same numbers when the candidate is White female purely out of Party loyalty. They simply don’t show up. They don’t show up for Democrat Hispanics, they don’t show up for Democrat Asians. Obama was multi-faceted, but that ain’t happening again. Let’s see them run Cory Booker. Been there, done that. The Democrats are fractured, eating one another with competing factions, Black women not getting their share from White feminists, gays and transsexuals will call more and more attention to what THEY don’t have, Hispanics all simply calling for more for themselves. Asian women already block outsiders from their neighborhoods and are the most racist bloc in the country, they despise Blacks and Hispanics and only tolerate Whites and they’ll flip to Republican now that they’re in the country. Maybe the White Feminist, Inc. review on the stage at the DNC will retire out of guilt, but many of those followers, especially the White, Asian and fatty-feminist crybabies at the 2016 election party under the glass ceiling, seeing THEIR interest waning in the Democrat Party, will flip-to-Red. Aging, having kids and dealing with school teachers and administrators and life in general will turn anyone into a thoughtful Red. Later in life, you don’t have the luxury of catering to the Left.

Black women in total are a tiny slice of the electorate. Vocal, noisy and annoying for sure, but their numbers outside of a certain tiny demo like Atlanta must surely disqualify them from status as most powerful voting bloc in the Democrat Party. They’ll win in already-Blue regions that have large numbers of Blacks, but they’re going to lose millions of White feminists. Watch.

Economics tells you that subsidizing anything will increase consumption (and taxing anything will decrease it) because it changes the effective price and as price goes down the quantity demanded increases. So if you reduce the price of calories, people will consume more calories. Red State Agri-business loves food stamps and Blue State Democrat politicians love food stamps. And the medical-industrial complex loves food stamps – all those diabetes drugs to sell at high prices, all that wound care, etc. And the taxpayers pay for it all -what’s not to like?

You could design a program to “end hunger in America” with carefully rationed amounts of calories in a balanced diet. Each poor family would get a ration box with a culturally suitable amount of collard greens with a few ounces of ham hock and rice and beans, etc. Not one single person would go hungry. You could save trillions, not just on food stamp costs but also on health care. But this wouldn’t please anyone – spending trillions is a feature, not a bug.

Trump’s immigration policies might keep Shinnecock Hills greens from being mowed for the US Open to glass coffee table slickness like in 2004.

Yet somehow, the Republic would survive.

  229. Been out of the loop travelling so haven’t worked through all the comments. But Steve’s advice was excellent back in ’09 and still is:

It’s both embarassing and depressing how weak, pathetic and unmanly the Republican establishment is with any sort of racial issue.

Of course, clear, rationally articulated nationalism is the postive program that seizes and locks in an electoral majority. Basically, “We’re the political party that thinks the nation ought to be run for *its* native people.” That’s that’s the winner. Unfortunately we’re a long way from that. (Though getting rid of Paul Ryan has to be a step forward.)

    Good comment.

One thing that’s happened during our lives is the death of any sort of “shame” or even of “appreciation” at getting welfare. It’s an entitlement.

To me–midwesterner, raised by parents who grew up on the farm during the depression–it’s obvious that you are not entitled to jack. And that any sort of welfare should be designed to help keep you alive during tough times but not designed for you to park your ass in. It’s a handout. Charity. Being boring, uncomfortable, tedious, unpleasant–those would be good features, to encourage you to move on to supporting yourself.

But now this an entitlement. And any move to reduce the choice or comfort of welfare is simply beyong the pale … and i’m sure racist.

Even the ideology of people doing real non-coerced, non-government charity have adopted this bizzare ideology of excessive concern that the recipient must never feel they are recieving charity as it’s an affront to dignity or something. To me it’s a weird, actually anti-Christian ideology, where charity is a virtue, and the act–properly, in a person of good character–creates a reciprocal emotion, gratitude.

The demise of these basic notions–like the demise of much else (understanding of sex roles, sexual restraint/chastity, marriage, the honor in honest labor, nobless obligue, values beyond the market, citizenship, understanding of a nation)–are a very bad sign for society.

I have to tell you that, aside from being healthier, cucina povera doesn’t have to be any of those things. Eating a big steak every day is boring. Eating packaged junk food produced by American agribusiness is boring – it’s all salt and sugar. But there are dozens of kinds of legumes and vegetables. Eating the “fifth quarter” (the offcuts) of the animal is interesting – you have all sorts of different tastes and textures. Preparing this kind of food involves more time and effort than nuking some frozen crapola (though usually it is more a matter of time than effort) but there is nothing boring about the results.

Chef Jose Andres talks about how when he was growing up in a working class family in Spain (which was then a much poorer country than it is now) his father would get paid once a month. At the beginning of the month, there was meat and fish and poultry, but at the end of the month they might be down to soup made from stale bread with tomatoes and a little olive oil. He says that the meals he remembers now are the ones from the end of the month, not the beginning.

Trump is only checkmated because he chooses to play in the courts. When the first such judicial order was issued back in January 2017 Trump should have told the immigration officials to disregard any judicial “writing” (don’t dignify it by calling it an “order”) purporting to block enforcement of his executive order. Any federal marshall attempting to enforce such an order should have been disregarded and disarmed and taken into custody if he became insistent. Then tell Congress if they don’t like what he’s doing to protect the U.S. sovereignty, they should impeach him and remove him from office. They wouldn’t have had the nerve. Unfortunately, Jeff Sessions is way too “conservative” for such a high risk strategy and I suspect Trump doesn’t really want to deport the DACA infiltrators–the court orders are a convenient excuse.

If they had any smart black politicians they would run on immigration. Popular enough with the blacks now not to hurt them and it might cut the white working class off at the knees. It would throw Republicans in disarray with no counterpoint.

Sort of. It wouldn’t help the black pols really for the same reasons Republicans don’t support increasing welfare or minimum wage, even if it’s popular. Whatever the black pols come up with, our side would just outbid them. But even if it wouldn’t help the black pols, it would flip the issue itself in our favor. It would be an incredibly huge development if in fact it did occur.

In a bankshot way, this is where Steve’s OP comes in. Pols like Barbara Jordan thought of themselves as black, not intersectional or multiracial, etc., etc, unlike Stacey Abrams. Maybe instead, we should try to rebrand the Democrats as Multiracial, so the blacks think they’ll be losing out (and in fact they will as things are going).

As it stands, blacks are perfectly happy to go black-black-blackety-blackety-black-black-black for the sake of antagonizing John Derbyshire or the Dallas cops. But they’re perfectly willing to stand in line and wait their turn when it comes to Muslims, Latins, trans, whoever in the Coalition of the Fringes.

They’re really is no good angle for us. It’s not really clear whether it’s better for the Democrats to be black or Multiracial, and it’s not clear we could pull off either one. I fear for now at least it’s a matter of nature taking its course and in a few years or so the antagonisms can be big enough to where there’s something we can do about it.

Re: Statutory rape of male students by female teachers:

It would indeed be interesting to see some actual data on the respective races of both parties in such crimes.

If indeed the teachers are mostly white and the students mostly “of color”, I would expect the inimitable Priss Factor, at least, to have a thing or two say on the matter. Our good friends ‘Truth’ and ‘Tiny Duck’ would probably proclaim with characteristic hubris that it’s just more evidence of the inadequacy and inferiority of white men.

How many cases where the /woman/ is black and the /boy/ white? (“Hey!, where da white boys at?”) Were females with heterosexual hebephilic or ephebophilic proclivities ever to be recognized as a Pokemon diversity points qualifying minority, then presumably any such woman who was of-color or even Muslim would present us with a case of intersectionality. Or perhaps merely being female + sexual minority would be enough.

Race aside for the moment, a few brief thoughts on the general topic of intergenerational carnal intimacy between adult females and adolescent males. Prevailing views seem to mostly fall into one of two polar extremes: Hysterical hand-wringing and moral outrage that often appears rather forced (“the traumatized victim”) or vicarious, celebratory romanticization and titillation (“The lucky little devil! If only I could have been so ‘victimized’ when I was that age!”). Surely, between those two simplistic, reflexive, blanket extremes, there is room for thoughtful, reasonable middle ground.

Might there possibly even be at least some cases where such a relationship was not only relatively innocuous but even, perhaps, in certain respects at least, wholesome? For example, a woman lovingly helping to steer a confused or homosexually-inclined adolescent boy (intersectionality, allright) toward a healthy heterosexuality? Might we, perhaps, even be able to recruit women with the forbidden lusts in-question to channel them into performing a societal good in this vein? Is this idea not worth at least exploring?

Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song is a 1971 film that would appear to present at least several points of intersectionality, not only in the areas I have already addressed but additional ones as well, such as that of so-called “sex-workers”.

A few salient excerpts from the Wikipedia entry:

[Huey P.] Newton further argued that “the film demonstrates the importance of unity and love between Black men and women,” as demonstrated “in the scene where the woman makes love to the young boy but in fact baptizes him into his true manhood.”[19] The film became required viewing for members of Black Panther Party.[20]

[Lerone] Bennett described Sweetback’s sexual initiation at ten years old as the “rape of a child by a 40-year-old prostitute.” [...]“it is necessary to say frankly that nobody ever f[---]ed his way to freedom. And it is mischievous and reactionary finally for anyone to suggest to black people in 1971 that they are going to be able to screw their way across the Red Sea. F[--]ng will not set you free. If f[---]ng freed, black people would have celebrated the millennium 400 years ago.”[21]

We have a legal statutory age of consent which is pretty much the definition per se of the difference between malum prohibitum and malum in se, that is , something being either wrong in and of itself and something being wrong because it is proscribed by law. The age of consent for sex, like the age for being able to drive cars, drink alcoholic beverages, vote, or purchase firearms, is set by a consensus of society via its elected representatives, theoretically and hopefully taking into account the opinions of experts, the societal-cultural millieu, etc. Some individuals may be biologically ready for copulation, physically and otherwise, at an age where others are not, but the law establishes a fixed age after which such acts are not an offense if consensual, the person being presumed able to consent under normal conditions.

Sexual contact with prepubescent children is malum in se, that is, wrong in and of itself, because it is destructive to the child and repellent to all healthy members of society. Sexual contact with those biologically ready but of less than the illegal age is malum prohibitum, wrong because declared so. Society has the right and duty to punish both, but they are not necessarily of equal evil. If the age is 18 and a cougar entices a horny 17 year old male to service her, no real harm is done. Then again, if an illegal alien illegally votes Democrat in an election where the Republican wins by huge margins, no “real harm is done” either but we still punish him and then deport him forthwith in a healthy society. Male teachers having sex with female students is a more serious situation than the reverse, but if she is of legal age of consent, his offense is not of a sexual nature under the law: he should be fired. If she is under the age, even if it’s patently obvious she is physically fully developed, then prosecute him. Female teachers seducing or accomodating male students should certainly be fired, but prosecuting her if he is underage is not nearly as critical.

If the age [of consent] is 18 and a cougar entices a horny 17 year old male to service her, no real harm is done.

Who says no real harm is done? I don’t see that we could a priori assume that any more than we could the reverse.

There is the question of the example set for the youth by the behavior of the adult woman; her influence upon him. That of the risks of pregnancy and infection. The matter of possibly excessive emotional demands that may be placed upon the youth. These are all among the many factors that must be considered.

Remember that boys of seventeen, while obviously nearly universally “horny”, can nonetheless vary greatly in their emotional maturity, temperament and any number of other areas. And while making generalizations about the women who cavort with such youths may be somewhat safer, caution is in order even there. Every case must be considered individually, in light of whatever circumstances and other factors are particular, to it. (Even if, as I am inclined to accept, some level of generality is necessary at the legal and institutional levels.)

I had suggested that there might possibly even be some cases, however rare, in which carnal intimacy between an adult female and an adolescent male could even be considered wholesome. Putting aside, for the moment, the specific hypothetical I presented, I wonder: Is true, enduring love between an adolescent male and a considerably older adult female ever possible?

Male teachers having sex with female students is a more serious situation than the reverse,

I believe that at least until relatively recently, few people would have considered that a controversial statement. A problem has arisen, however: If situations involving women and boys are to be treated any less harshly or seriously than those involving men and boys…Well, that would obviously be shamefully ‘homophobic’… I have seen this suggested as a reason for the hysterical and draconian reactions to the former (i.e. women and boys) that we have been witnessing.

How is that even possible? And ultimately?
