From the Chicago Sun-Times:

Alderman says Lincoln bust in West Englewood burned

CHICAGO 08/17/2017, 03:10pm

Fran Spielman and Mitch Dudek

Ald. Ray Lopez (15th) on Thursday accused President Donald Trump of emboldening vandals to set fire to a bust of Abraham Lincoln that has stood as a symbol of freedom in West Englewood for nearly a century.

Lopez said Trump’s widely-condemned decision to twice blame “both sides” for the white nationalist rally that turned deadly in Virginia has emboldened haters.

“When you have a President who, from his point of moral authority as leader of the free world, condones the actions of white supremacists, neo-Nazis … when he refuses to refute what their actions are — you embolden people to continue,” Lopez said Thursday. “Now, you’re giving them a path to come out and be as anger-filled as they want to be.”

Lopez said he learned the Lincoln bust was spray-painted black two weeks ago, then vandalized again two days ago. In the second incident, the bust was “covered in tar, wrapped in roofing paper and set on fire,” the alderman said, noting that Chicago Police are investigating. …

“I understand the deep-seated anger induced by those reminders of slavery and oppression and want our city to be ahead of the curve in addressing that emotion,” Lopez wrote in his email.

He added: “I was hoping we could get ahead of the curve and not behind the racist eight-ball that’s fueling a lot of the anger and demonstrations that we’re seeing in other parts of the country.” …

A West Englewood resident interviewed Thursday speculated that some burn damage to the Lincoln bust may have been caused by fireworks set off on July 4th.

“People were out partying on the 4th of July and lighting fireworks off of it,” said Christopher Jackson, 22, who lives two blocks from the statue and saw the revelers also light newspapers on fire on top of the statue.

“It’s f—– up, honestly,” said Jackson, who works as a cook at a downtown eatery and chatted while waiting for a bus steps from the statue.

“You’d think people would appreciate it,” he said. “Abraham Lincoln is Abraham Lincoln. He’s one of the people who helped us. He freed the slaves. That’s a big one.”

Jackson suspects the vandals didn’t know the weathered statue, its nose chipped off, actually depicted Lincoln. “I didn’t even know until just now,” he said, adding that the statue seemed like another aspect of a blighted community dotted with run-down buildings and boarded-up homes.

“It’s insulting to leave it just like this with nobody trying to fix it,” he said.

Lopez, however, said he has no doubt that the damage was deliberate and tied to the debate that has raged across the country.

“I believe that what happened to Abraham Lincoln wasn’t just a random act of violence. It’s wasn’t just [plastered] with graffiti or tipped over. This was an intentional act to try to destroy this statue,” Lopez said.

“The fire was intense. The soot is baked onto it. There was some planning and some effort to try and destroy this bust, which has been in the community for almost 100 years now.

Lopez said he has no idea who is responsible for the apparent act of vandalism. He only knows that the message is “very hurtful” in the predominantly African-American neighborhood of West Englewood, where the Lincoln bust is located.

Or maybe some leftover Nazi Dirt blew in to West Englewood?

“We know there have been issues in the past on the Southwest Side of Chicago, when you had the Nazi headquarters in Marquette Park, which is a stone’s throw away from where this bust is,” he said.

According to Wikipedia, “By 2000 due to the loss of jobs, the population of West Englewood had dropped to 45,282. By that time, with demographic changes, 98% of residents were black.”

I both agree and propose it be distributed to all of the BLM types via all forms of social media until a lynch mob is formed. What will the SJW/marxists/neocons/GOP types do then once their hero lincoln is accused of being a racist? Dilorenzo blogged the other day on lewrockwell about how funny it would be if the blm types actually read lincoln's own words, so I am sure he would be open to it.

Huh. Well, looks like defeating the Confederacy and freeing the Negroes from slavery isn’t enough to avoid being targeted as a neo-Nazi white supremacist any more.

This is starting the follow the typical pattern in revolutions, from Robespierre to Lenin, where the animals in the street get emboldened by each successive step, and after they’ve destroyed all of their enemies they begin eating their own…

On April 7, 2015, Lopez was elected alderman of the 15th Ward.

Psycho, demagogue or just plain lying his ass off? You decide. No white man is going to drive to that ghetto area and start vandalizing random busts and statues. Twinkie got all excited because he figured he has a counterweight to blacks vandalizing – removing statues of white men.

  10. THE BLACK RAPTURE

It was a bright and frosty dawn
That day that woke so strangely still,
    When quick there broke discovery
    Of a mystery to thrill.

The peoples rose up from their beds,
Both White and Brown and Gook,
To find that from the earth had fled
Every last man or woman spook.

There were no Blacks! Africa shed
    Off every man or babe not Boer;
Between the Cape and Delta, not
One darkie by sand or shore.

    Detroit’s a desert; Bantumore
    Had emptied of the nog.
    The Fed, the DMV, HR
Left no Africants the works to clog.

No blacks at all! Nor half nor quarter
    Nor even an Octaroon.
They’d left no trace! Were they gone to Hell
    Or Heaven or the Moon?

Some thought perhaps the Close Encounters
Kind had whisked them off to space
    And others figured Almighty God
    Willed to separate their race.

    The consequences were not dire
    Contra prior pretense‘s unfound claim:
The streets, the malls, were clean and quiet
Not a burg that night felt flame.

There was no crime, there was such peace
    The radio barked no rough discord;
The teens shirked off doing the twerk
Or twist, yet none at all were bored!

    The markets soared, employment raced
Up; bourgeois births, they shot up too:
    Though housing took a leveling-off
Since none lived in a zoo.

    Neurosis and anxiety
    Strangely came uncoiled
    As that menacing melting simmering
Pot was left to sit there cold.

There was such beauty, grace and peace–
Once more, they travelled through space:
More to further Man’s great reach
Than to seek the Sable’s trace.

Yet despite such peace and plenty
And much cause for great delight,
Some sad sorts, at first quietly
    Internalized a troubled fright.

For the neck beards and the tatties
Who long blamed their own for all woes
Thought somehow the Blacks were gone-zies
Thanks to the evil of their White foe.

And where once they spurned religion
And called a fiction, Almighty God,
    These turned heretic to religion
Rather than acknowledge their race blind fraud.

For they said a secret curse was
    Imposed upon the wicked world,
When God had surely damned them
    By rapturing the sacred Turd.

For secret sins were we a-weighing
And God had found us in a lack,
And for failure to mourn the darkies
    His fiery angels would attack.

Peace and plenty, sweet discourse, music,
Clean and quiet, these were a snare!
Oh, the Lord had weighed the non-dark races
And the End was surely near!

So they tripped and guilted and mouth-foamed
    And with dark Satanic glee
    They redoubled their anti-White venom
    In a universal melee.

There was terror, there were flash-mobs,
    Acid assaults, stone desecrations:
Blood was spilt as factious mania
Broke out though all the poor White nations.

    For the Puritan fire rekindled
From the pyre of the Black mystery,
And there flamed the Reddest of terrors
Bent to destroy all White history.

Rage of madness!: fondly they looked back
To that Age of Subhuman woe
For their sick souls were bent and broken
To submit to a weaker foe.

So they smote their parents and children
And suffused the globe in Thirty Years’ War,
For not the mercy of God Almighty
Could salve the sickness at their core.

    "War of Northern Aggression"

I think in all respects, it would be far better for the states and all present US citizens, including blacks, if the Confederate states had been able to peacefully secede and have their own country which, by the way, maintained all the rights contained in the Constitution. There is no way that slavery would have continued more than 10 or 15 years past 1860.

But, given all that, it can't be denied that the Civil War was begun by Jefferson Davis, the biggest danger by far to the nascent Confederacy. Davis attacked a federal fort, was warned by Robert Toombs that war would ruin the Confederacy, and chose to attack Fort Sumter anyway. How stupid can you get?

It's much easier to start a war than to stop it. This is perhaps a good lesson for Baltic countries that wish to join NATO to thumb their noses at Russia. Sometimes it's better to not provoke a powerful neighbor, but swallow a bit of pride and maintain your existence.

  17. Lopez said he has no idea who is responsible for the apparent act of vandalism. He only knows that the message is “very hurtful” in the predominantly African-American neighborhood of West Englewood, where the Lincoln bust is located.

Evidently, Alderman Lopez’s intended audience — the African-Americans voters who live in the neighborhood — think he’s full of it.

Sounds like Alderman Lopez could give Philly Councilwoman Helen Gym a run for her money in the cheap-political-stunts-gone-wrong Olympics:

Wheely Wheely Good is a popular University City food truck that serves hot pots, spring rolls, and rice balls to hungry Drexel students and faculty on 33rd Street….

It was at a recent catering gig for Greene Towne Montessori School in Center City that the owners of the truck encountered the Democratic legislator, seen here, who wasn’t a big fan….

“She approached our truck while we were working and started to argue with my partner and me,” recalls Wheely Wheely Good co-owner Alanna Li. “She told us, ‘Your truck’s name is super-racist.’ She used those words.”…

But Li swears that this was never their intent — the name was simply meant to be a play on the fact that Wheely Wheely Good is a good restaurant on wheels and was in no way, shape, or form intended to evoke any accents or dialects….

As for the caricatures on the truck, Li says they are meant to be cartoon versions of her and her partner, Bailin Chen.

“We had this truck professionally designed,” says Li. “And I think it looks great.”

    http://www.phillymag.com/news/2016/10/06/racist-food-truck-wheely-wheely-good-helen-gym/

Now genius Gym is on the racist-statue bandwagon, trying to send Frank Rizzo the way of Robert E. Lee and Roger Taney:

Gym and others who oppose Rizzo’s statue cite his tainted tenure, including his decision to raid and strip search a group of Black Panthers in front of news crews, multiple reports that he casually and openly called black people the N-word, his advice to “vote white” when pushing for a change in city charter so he could serve a third term as mayor, and other infamous Rizzoisms.

    http://www.phillymag.com/news/2017/08/15/rizzo-statue-councilwoman-gym/

I guess when your city lacks monuments to southern leaders* you work with what you got.

*Although Philly does have a statue of Virginian John Marshall.

In Deceptopia, seeing the truth is a revolutionary act. It’s like the kid noticing the Emperor with no clothes.

Trump noticed unsavory figures among the Alt Right. True.

He also noticed that Antifa attacked first and state didn’t do anything to maintain order. Also true.

But how dare he notice that Antifa had bats? How dare he notice Antifa charged first with bats swinging? It is an affront to the Official Narrative, like the kid noticing the emperor really has no clothes!!

Welcome to Fictopia. When fiction becomes fact, print the fact…. but there are so much video evidence to the contrary. Then, just shut up, hide in the corner, wear a dunce hat, and no free speech for you.

But maybe it’s wrong to attack the tongue. After all, speech spits out what the eyes see. So, do to all patriots what was done to Baked Alaska. Blind Americans so they can’t see. That way, it won’t matter if the emperor has clothes or not or if Antifa have bats or not. The blind will have to go with what they are told.

“In Charlottesvilles, ladies and gentlemen, a wonderful gathering of blacks, whites, Jews, and homos were holding hands and singing ‘All you need is love’, but then, Trump and his goons of Nazis came with guns and bats and mowed everyone down and raped the corpses. You didn’t see it happen because your eyes have been blinded with PC acid? Not to worry. Just trust our words in Deceptopolis.”

Typical of the mental giants living there, the vandals may have had only the dimmest of ideas about who the statue was supposed to represent.

Not much else exists where the statue stands, next to a bus stop and shuttered auto repair shop. There is no plaque explaining the significance of the statue or why it was erected.

The repair lot was previously home to the Lincoln Gas Station. The station was owned by Phil Blomquist, who had the statue erected in 1926, city historian Tim Samuelson said. The gas station was named after the street it was on, Lincoln, which was renamed Wolcott Avenue in 1936, Samuelson said.

Two high ranking diner employees in Minneapolis fired for being WWII re-enactors. Thank Allah someone had the courage to stand up to hate!

Apparently you can't even keep a back-of-house kitchen job in Minneapolis once photos show up online of you looking like a Nazi. Two young enthusiasts learned as much on Tuesday, when they were fired from Uptown Diner after an online social media campaign exposed their hobby of dressing up as Adolf Hitler's foot soldiers.

Didn't Martin Sheehan play Robert E. Lee in the Gettysburg movie? He should be booted from SAG!

Yes this is going to kill off Civil War re-enactments. Which is too bad really because books and even movies cannot possibly communicate what the physical environment of the battlefield is truly like.

Poking about on the web to learn more about American history (not being an American), I discovered that Charles Francis Adams, grandson of John Quincy Adams, and who had fought for the Union in the Civil War, had composed a college address, Shall Cromwell have a Statue?. So named but actually about whether General Lee should have a statue, this question being decided in the affirmative.

Unfortunately, in terms of relevance to the current year, the stain of having fought for the slave owners’ side is not much mentioned, rather the focus is on whether he should be considered a traitor.

It did have this iStevey content: That whereas the old-stock Virginian, Lee, put his State before his Nation, the author, a Yankee of puritan stock, believes he would have leapfrogged his loyalty to his state to remain loyal to his Nation, even as his grandfather had before him.

Quoting a private communication the author writes,

Lee was essentially a Virginian. His sword was Virginia’s, and I fancy the State had higher claims upon him than had the Confederacy, just as he supposed it had than the United States.

As to why the author believed Lee should have a statue,

True! the moral right, the spirit of nationality, the sacred cause of humanity even, were on our side; but, among those opposed, and who in the end went down, were men not less sincere, not less devoted, not less truly patriotic according to their lights than he who among us was first in all those qualities. Men of whom it was and is a cause of pride and confidence to say, — “They, too, were countrymen!”

Typical of those men — most typical — was Lee. He represented, individualized, all that was highest and best in the Southern mind and the Confederate cause, — the loyalty to State, the keen sense of honor and personal obligation, the slightly archaic, the almost patriarchal, love of dependent, family and home. As I have more than once said, he was a Virginian of the Virginians. He represents a type which is gone, — hardly less extinct than that of the great English nobleman of the feudal times, or the ideal head of the Scotch clan of a later period : but just so long as men admire courage, devotion, patriotism, the high sense of duty and personal honor, — all in a word which go
to make up what we know as Character, — just so long will that type of man be held in affectionate, reverential memory. They have in them all the elements of the heroic.

But it is a question of time; and the time is, probably, not quite yet. The wounds of the great war are not altogether healed, its personal memories are still fresh, its passions not wholly allayed.

Time has a way of allaying passions!

    The address ends,

Lee’s monument will be educational, — it will typify the historical appreciation of all that goes to make up the loftiest type of character, military and civic, exemplified in an opponent, once dreaded but ever respected; and, above all, it will symbolize and commemorate that loyal acceptance of the consequences of defeat, and the patient upbuilding of a people under new conditions by constitutional means, which I hold to be the greatest educational lesson America has yet taught to a once skeptical but now silenced world.

Lest we forget, both sides in the American Civil War were willing to accept the status quo of slavery deep into the war. Lincoln's campaign for election as president was "Free Land ... Free Labor" (meaning no slaves to compete with white yeomen in western lands, albeit slavery was okay elsewhere). A related issue was control over the Mississippi River. Southern independence and control over the Mississippi River would block the Union's western expansion into the lands won from Mexico in the Mexican-American War. General Sherman understood this, which is why he advocated total war against the South to keep the river in Union hands.

Abraham Lincoln's Letter to Horace Greeley, 1862

I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored; the nearer the Union will be "the Union as it was." If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them. If there be those who would not save the Union unless they could at the same time destroy slavery, I do not agree with them. My paramount object in this struggle is to save the Union, and is not either to save or to destroy slavery.

If I could save the Union without freeing any slave I would do it, and if I could save it by freeing all the slaves I would do it; and if I could save it by freeing some and leaving others alone I would also do that. What I do about slavery, and the colored race, I do because I believe it helps to save the Union; and what I forbear, I forbear because I do not believe it would help to save the Union. I shall do less whenever I shall believe what I am doing hurts the cause, and I shall do more whenever I shall believe doing more will help the cause. I shall try to correct errors when shown to be errors; and I shall adopt new views so fast as they shall appear to be true views.

As another Lincolnesque event worth citing, Lincoln's empty Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 was an act of desperation on Lincoln's part. The North was losing the Civil War. Lincoln was hoping that empty gesture of "freeing" the slaves under Confederate control would incite racial war in the Deep South, forcing the South to divert troops to the home front to protect their women and children from massacre at the hand of rioting slaves (ref: Nat Turner rebellion in 1831 and the events in Haiti in 1791 ... both fresh in the minds of Northerners and Southerners alike).

Indeed, Lincoln did not buddy up to the abolitionists until the last year of the war when abolitionists and Union soldiers at the front were the only supporters he had left. Even then, in the week he was assassinated, Lincoln met with Black leaders to figure out a way to deport America's African population to Central America or Africa.

I'll stop here and will not dwell on the movements in the South to free all slaves willing to fight for the South's independence nor try to unpack the recklessness of claiming that Lee's tens of thousands of barefoot and starving soldiers (who did not and would never own slaves) were actually fighting and dying to preserve slavery.

Hence, the current Leftist "Antifa" political narrative that the Union fought to free the slaves and the South fought to preserve slavery cannot be validated in the historical narrative. Their attempt to press this is political chicanery of the worst kind.

Article says that raciis Yawkey’s race hatred led him to pass over chances at signing Willie Mays and Jackie Robinson. Didn’t have first AA Red Sox player till 1959

the Red Sox are ready to start taking down a symbol of their own racially tainted history.

Red Sox principal owner John Henry, saying he’s still “haunted” by the racist legacy of his legendary predecessor Tom Yawkey, told the Herald that his franchise welcomes renaming Yawkey Way.

There may be limits to how far the new Cultural Revolutionaries will be allowed to go, however:

"Penny Lane will keep its name.

Liverpool officials said Saturday they would modify a proposal to rename streets linked to the slave trade when they realized the road made famous by the 1967 Beatles song was one of them.

The unassuming suburban avenue was named for James Penny, a wealthy 18th-century slave ship owner. Liverpool, the Beatles' northern English hometown, was once a major hub for the slave trade."

White liberals need a white figure, as do blacks. At least the establishment. The only people who don't need him is everyone else, and they don't really have a reason to hate him.

I mean, the trifecta of the the Cubs winning the world series, Trump winning, and the Patriots’ unbelievable comeback in the Superbowl—all occurring within the last 12 months—are statistically very improbable as all happening in the same year. Then you toss in how the media is now blatantly lying so badly every day and being exposed, and major corporations like Google are openly doing Crimestop and Newspeak. And now BLM’s ridiculous demands and statue pulling and articles like this that blame an attack on Lincoln in a black neighborhood on….NeoNazis living there.

it’s like so farcical that in a film it would make it unbelievable and laughable. Like how in Bruce Almighty he starts granting everyone’s prayers and suddenly everyone in Buffalo won the lottery on the same day while the Sabres win the Stanley Cup.

Definitely not Harriet Beecher Stowe; she's guilty of cultural appropriation (only Blacks can tell stories about slavery).

    How about the Grimké sisters?

Sarah Moore Grimké (1792–1873) and Angelina Emily Grimké[1] (1805–1879), known as the Grimké sisters, were the first American female advocates of abolition and women's rights.[2] They were writers, orators, and educators.
They grew up in a slave-holding family in the Southern United States but moved to the North in the 1820s, settling for a time in Philadelphia and becoming part of its substantial Quaker community. They became more deeply involved with the abolitionist movement, traveling on its lecture circuit and recounting their firsthand experiences with slavery on their family's plantation. Among the first American women to act publicly in social reform movements, they were ridiculed for their abolitionist activity. They became early activists in the women's rights movement. They eventually developed a private school.
Learning that their late brother had had three mixed-race sons, they helped the boys get educations in the North. Archibald and Francis J. Grimké stayed in the North, Francis becoming a Presbyterian preacher, but their younger brother John returned to the South.

Since the income tax was first used by the goon to fund his war against Southern independence, I'd guess he had several million since the population of the time was around 30 million not all of whom were subject to the tax, of course.

So, tax slaves plus wage slaves, even if we only count federal bureaucrats and military at his command, adds up to quite a few, I'd say.

I agree with the poster who suggested that Di Lorenzo be solicited to weigh in here. In my experience, he's quite a sarcastic hot head, but he's pretty good on the War of the Northern Bankers Against the Southern Planters. One question I'd like to ask him is if he's ever mentioned the would be Lincoln hagiographer, A. J. Beveridge, and if not why not.

Even the ... US hyper imperialist, the flag waving US Senator, Albert J. Beveridge, was shocked at what he found when he began researching his boyhood hero, Lincoln. Most of what he “knew” was campaign rhetoric and outright fabrication.

The more research that Beveridge did the more disgusted he became with the "slush and rot" that had been—and was being—written about Lincoln..."

    This sounds about right.

Plus, Christopher Jackson seems like a reasonable guy. His first comment:

It’s f—– up, honestly,” said Jackson, who works as a cook at a downtown eatery and chatted while waiting for a bus steps from the statue.

Not to mention the fact that the symbolic meaning of a statue is a bit nuanced for that neighborhood.

“Now, you’re giving them a path to come out and be as anger-filled as they want to be.”

Not much sense the neighborhood has been restrained from acting out anger. Englewood is number 2 in Homicides, with 37 year to date. And 131 wounded. Second only to Austin.

It’s about time all American statues were placed inside museums. Part of this is to protect them from the elements. No one wants to see their favorite historical figure bedewed with bird droppings and dirt. But also because statues, like everything, will weather from rain, wind, and time. To preserve them, they need to be inside.

But there’s another important reason. Museums are good at keep ‘the barbarians at the gates.’ They charge admission. You want to see it? You have to pay your money. Besides, everyone knows blacks and Hispanics don’t go to museums. They have no curiosity and little interest in Western arts. Museums help keep the riff-raff out and thus protect our culture’s artistic treasures from the leftist vandal hoards.

Museum ownership would also help protect our statures from nasty, mob-appeasing politicians who have their eye on the next election. Museum boards are much more appreciate of works of art and the heritage of those works than politicians are. The boards are also elitist enough they’re not likely to give way to lefty demands. A wealthy board member isn’t going to lose their money and social status because of leftist shrieking like someone seeking an office, is less mallible.

By the way, don’t think this mess in Virginia happened for no reason. Terry McAuliffe will be out of office this year (thank God) because Virginia doesn’t allow you to follow yourself in the governership. The fact that Ralph Northam (the Dem candidate) and Ed Gillespie (Republican) are polling neck and neck for the fall election in 2017 is ominous for the Dems. McAuliffe and his challenger in 2013, Cuccinelli, were only 56K votes apart. The Dems are worried, and McAuliffe and the Dem party in Virginia are snatching the opportunity to whip their supporters into a frenzy over Charlottesville to ensure a high turnout. They’re going to pull this sort of crap all the way up to the election because they’re desperate not to lose it.

Sam Durant’s sculpture Scaffold (2012) will be removed from the Walker Art Center’s garden and ceremonially burned by local Native American leaders in Minnesota. The decision follows a rising chorus of protests by members of the Dakota community and their supporters, who say the work trivializes a traumatizing chapter in the community’s history.

The composite structure was one of 16 planned additions to the Minneapolis institution’s sculpture garden. It draws on the gallows built for seven major executions in US history, including the largest mass execution ever to take place in the US, which killed 38 Dakota Indians in 1862 in nearby Mankato, Minnesota.

The decision to destroy the work was announced after a three-hour mediation session attended by the artist, representatives from the Dakota Spiritual and Traditional Elders, the four federally recognized Dakota tribes, the Walker, and the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board. (The meeting was facilitated by Stephanie Hope Smith, a Minnesota registered neutral mediator who specializes in sacred sites.)

Nope, the Black / White female alliance is riding even higher. You’d think the Barcelona stuff would hurt them, but it only encourages them to hunt down their natural and mutual enemies — White men, into the weeds.

In Spain, there will be more and more groveling and surrender to Islam. They might even ban Christianity — NBC is spitting mad in the US over Trump’s tweet about Pershing calling it a lie (it was in fact true). And Islamaphobic. And insulting to Muslims.

Tiny Duck has that right — White women are as allied against us as non-Whites, and filled with just as much hate. Their hate is that 99.9999999% of White men are not Tom Brady, and he’s not interested in them. Not rational but women never are and by their very nature cannot be rational. Its ALWAYS personal.

Therefore the one weird trick White men have to pull, is to be feared and feared greatly by White women and non-Whites, while sticking this side of the line from violence. There are many different ways to instill fear and it is vital to White men’s survival to instill fear. To be “the one who knocks” as Walter White in Breaking Bad explained. This has the side benefit of arousing women as they find dominance and threats sexy and instinctively submit to whoever is the most fear inducing.

Lincoln is toast — he’s White. And male. A good symbol of how a movement is doing is the number of hot women they attract as the Two Kevins noted. Women are attracted to success and the one mixed message is that while ultra hot Hollywood Actresses like Jennifer Lawrence are setting online mobs against anyone who “might” have been in Charlottesville, most of the actual female White attendees are indistinguishable from endangered Manatees.

A statue of Cesar Chavez, inscribed “The growers are bringing in these wetb@cks to bust our union”. The gigantic Muhammed Ali monument on the capital mall, with the base inscription “Thank God my grandaddy got on that boat”. Probably safe, overall, because he espoused the power of the federal government and effectively did away with the 10th Ammendment. Plus he is sort of irreplaceable in the narrative myth of race. White liberals need a white figure, as do blacks. At least the establishment. The only people who don't need him is everyone else, and they don't really have a reason to hate him.

You’re oppressing PoC with your white privilege of ‘facts’ and ‘logic’.

I both agree and propose it be distributed to all of the BLM types via all forms of social media until a lynch mob is formed. What will the SJW/marxists/neocons/GOP types do then once their hero lincoln is accused of being a racist? Confederate Veterans Recognized as Americans
    RICHARD JAMISON SR.
DelMarVa Now – USA Today Network, July 20, 2016

Confederate soldiers are also U.S. veterans. The U.S. government recognized Confederate veterans as equivalent to Union vets via the Congressional Act of 1900, signed June 6, 1903, the Congressional Act of 1906, by the 17th Congress in February 1929 and U.S. Public Law 85-425, Section 410, of May 1958.

These famous Americans are some of the descendants of Confederate States of America veterans:

•Army Lt. Gen. George S. Patton III’s grandfather was CSA Col. George Patton, killed in 1864.

•The father of Army Lt. Gen. Simon Bolivar Buckner Jr., killed in Okinawa in 1945 as commander of the U.S. 10th Army, was CSA Gen. Simon Bolivar Buckner.

•U.S. Air Corps Brigadier Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest III was shot down and killed over Germany in 1942; his great grandfather was CSA Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest.

•President Theodore Roosevelt’s uncle was CSA Chief Foreign Agent, Capt. James D. Bullock, Confederate States Navy.

•CSA generals Joe Wheeler, Fitzhugh Lee, Thomas Rosser, Mathew C. Butler and Col. William Oates all served our nation after the war as generals in the Spanish-America War in 1898.

More than 70 million Americans, many of whom served honorably in our U.S. armed forces, are descended from these men.

After the war, Union and Confederate soldiers, sailors and marines came together in a national spirit of unity and reconciliation. Why can’t the rest of us?

Let’s honor all American veterans – their monuments, their symbols and their memories – as well as their flags.

There are no barriers to our human progress except those we erect ourselves.

I guess that means that lots more statues and graves need to go to cleanse the taint of the Confederacy.

Definitely not Harriet Beecher Stowe; she’s guilty of cultural appropriation (only Blacks can tell stories about slavery).

    How about the Grimké sisters?

Sarah Moore Grimké (1792–1873) and Angelina Emily Grimké[1] (1805–1879), known as the Grimké sisters, were the first American female advocates of abolition and women’s rights.[2] They were writers, orators, and educators.
They grew up in a slave-holding family in the Southern United States but moved to the North in the 1820s, settling for a time in Philadelphia and becoming part of its substantial Quaker community. They became more deeply involved with the abolitionist movement, traveling on its lecture circuit and recounting their firsthand experiences with slavery on their family’s plantation. Among the first American women to act publicly in social reform movements, they were ridiculed for their abolitionist activity. They became early activists in the women’s rights movement. They eventually developed a private school.
Learning that their late brother had had three mixed-race sons, they helped the boys get educations in the North. Archibald and Francis J. Grimké stayed in the North, Francis becoming a Presbyterian preacher, but their younger brother John returned to the South.

It's amazing how all these great minds are able to twist anything around to blame Trump. Even the attack in Spain is being blamed on him in some roundabout way. This has all gotten bizarre.

Typical of the mental giants living there, the vandals may have had only the dimmest of ideas about who the statue was supposed to represent.

They didn’t recognize Lincoln simply because his nose was missing? Now i could understand if it was his wart that was missing.

Ever been to the Acropolis? They have a great museum primarily full of statuary from Athens. The first thing you notice, is that all the statues have the nose and penis smashed away. That’s what conquerors do, smash dicks and noses from monuments. Forget about complaining about ISIS and Petra, this is universal to winners. Deface the monuments of the losers. There is nothing new, we are just living through it here now.

Yes this is going to kill off Civil War re-enactments.

But the civil war played out in our streets will more than make up for it.

I know a few re-enactors here in the UK, they are nice people but uber-PC types. It’s just a coincidence that they live in white areas and their hobby involves historical research and ‘fighting’ with similar white people.

At re-enactor festivals you’ll see everything from Greek hoplites and Roman legions through Vikings and Saxons to medieval, Civil War (English and US) right up to Korea. The Crusades get missed out for some reason.

It's about time all American statues were placed inside museums. Part of this is to protect them from the elements. No one wants to see their favorite historical figure bedewed with bird droppings and dirt. But also because statues, like everything, will weather from rain, wind, and time. To preserve them, they need to be inside.

But there's another important reason. Museums are good at keep 'the barbarians at the gates.' They charge admission. You want to see it? You have to pay your money. Besides, everyone knows blacks and Hispanics don't go to museums. They have no curiosity and little interest in Western arts. Museums help keep the riff-raff out and thus protect our culture's artistic treasures from the leftist vandal hoards.

Museum ownership would also help protect our statures from nasty, mob-appeasing politicians who have their eye on the next election. Museum boards are much more appreciate of works of art and the heritage of those works than politicians are. The boards are also elitist enough they're not likely to give way to lefty demands. A wealthy board member isn't going to lose their money and social status because of leftist shrieking like someone seeking an office, is less mallible.

By the way, don't think this mess in Virginia happened for no reason. Terry McAuliffe will be out of office this year (thank God) because Virginia doesn't allow you to follow yourself in the governership. They're going to pull this sort of crap all the way up to the election because they're desperate not to lose it.

Museums are not safe spaces for statues. Exhibit A are Malvina Hoffman’s magnificent statues depicting the races of mankind that used to be displayed at Chicago’s Field Museum but are now considered beyond the pale.

    "Great Emancipator"

Some in the North are finally woke to the true nature of the author of the War of Northern Aggression.

    “War of Northern Aggression”

I think in all respects, it would be far better for the states and all present US citizens, including blacks, if the Confederate states had been able to peacefully secede and have their own country which, by the way, maintained all the rights contained in the Constitution. There is no way that slavery would have continued more than 10 or 15 years past 1860.

But, given all that, it can’t be denied that the Civil War was begun by Jefferson Davis, the biggest danger by far to the nascent Confederacy. Davis attacked a federal fort, was warned by Robert Toombs that war would ruin the Confederacy, and chose to attack Fort Sumter anyway. How stupid can you get?

It’s much easier to start a war than to stop it. This is perhaps a good lesson for Baltic countries that wish to join NATO to thumb their noses at Russia. Sometimes it’s better to not provoke a powerful neighbor, but swallow a bit of pride and maintain your existence.

They have in them all the elements of the heroic.

    adding,

Edit: I originally had a more tag but it didn’t work while my comment was awaiting moderation, so I wasn’t sure if it would afterwards.

Lest we forget, both sides in the American Civil War were willing to accept the status quo of slavery deep into the war. Lincoln’s campaign for election as president was “Free Land … Free Labor” (meaning no slaves to compete with white yeomen in western lands, albeit slavery was okay elsewhere). A related issue was control over the Mississippi River. Southern independence and control over the Mississippi River would block the Union’s western expansion into the lands won from Mexico in the Mexican-American War. General Sherman understood this, which is why he advocated total war against the South to keep the river in Union hands.

Abraham Lincoln’s Letter to Horace Greeley, 1862

I would save the Union. I would save it the shortest way under the Constitution. The sooner the national authority can be restored; the nearer the Union will be “the Union as it was.” If there be those who would not save the Union, unless they could at the same time save slavery, I do not agree with them.

As another Lincolnesque event worth citing, Lincoln’s empty Emancipation Proclamation in 1863 was an act of desperation on Lincoln’s part. The North was losing the Civil War. Lincoln was hoping that empty gesture of “freeing” the slaves under Confederate control would incite racial war in the Deep South, forcing the South to divert troops to the home front to protect their women and children from massacre at the hand of rioting slaves (ref: Nat Turner rebellion in 1831 and the events in Haiti in 1791 … both fresh in the minds of Northerners and Southerners alike).

Indeed, Lincoln did not buddy up to the abolitionists until the last year of the war when abolitionists and Union soldiers at the front were the only supporters he had left. Even then, in the week he was assassinated, Lincoln met with Black leaders to figure out a way to deport America’s African population to Central America or Africa.

I’ll stop here and will not dwell on the movements in the South to free all slaves willing to fight for the South’s independence nor try to unpack the recklessness of claiming that Lee’s tens of thousands of barefoot and starving soldiers (who did not and would never own slaves) were actually fighting and dying to preserve slavery.

Hence, the current Leftist “Antifa” political narrative that the Union fought to free the slaves and the South fought to preserve slavery cannot be validated in the historical narrative. Their attempt to press this is political chicanery of the worst kind.

Time to re-write the history books. How many slaves did Lincoln have??

Time to re-write the history books. How many slaves did Lincoln have??

Since the income tax was first used by the goon to fund his war against Southern independence, I’d guess he had several million since the population of the time was around 30 million not all of whom were subject to the tax, of course.

So, tax slaves plus wage slaves, even if we only count federal bureaucrats and military at his command, adds up to quite a few, I’d say.

I agree with the poster who suggested that Di Lorenzo be solicited to weigh in here. In my experience, he’s quite a sarcastic hot head, but he’s pretty good on the War of the Northern Bankers Against the Southern Planters. One question I’d like to ask him is if he’s ever mentioned the would be Lincoln hagiographer, A. J. Beveridge, and if not why not.

Even the … US hyper imperialist, the flag waving US Senator, Albert J. Beveridge, was shocked at what he found when he began researching his boyhood hero, Lincoln. Most of what he “knew” was campaign rhetoric and outright fabrication.

The more research that Beveridge did the more disgusted he became with the “slush and rot” that had been—and was being—written about Lincoln…

    A Superior post.

In Deceptopia, seeing the truth is a revolutionary act. It's like the kid noticing the Emperor with no clothes.

Trump noticed unsavory figures among the Alt Right. True.

He also noticed that Antifa attacked first and state didn't do anything to maintain order. Also true.

But how dare he notice that Antifa had bats? How dare he notice Antifa charged first with bats swinging? It is an affront to the Official Narrative, like the kid noticing the emperor really has no clothes!!

Welcome to Fictopia. When fiction becomes fact, print the fact.... but there are so much video evidence to the contrary. Then, just shut up, hide in the corner, wear a dunce hat, and no free speech for you.

But maybe it's wrong to attack the tongue. After all, speech spits out what the eyes see. So, do to all patriots what was done to Baked Alaska. Blind Americans so they can't see. That way, it won't matter if the emperor has clothes or not or if Antifa have bats or not. The blind will have to go with what they are told.

"In Charlottesvilles, ladies and gentlemen, a wonderful gathering of blacks, whites, Jews, and homos were holding hands and singing 'All you need is love', but then, Trump and his goons of Nazis came with guns and bats and mowed everyone down and raped the corpses. You didn't see it happen because your eyes have been blinded with PC acid? Not to worry. Just trust our words in Deceptopolis."

In Deceptopia, seeing the truth is a revolutionary act. It’s like the kid noticing the Emperor with no clothes.

It’s been pointed out here before; in this day and age, when the kids point out that there are no clothes, the townspeople attack the kids.

You're oppressing PoC with your white privilege of 'facts' and 'logic'.

He's white, he was Prez, he has to go.

All white presidents will have to go too, then street names, named public buildings and son. We still have such a long way to go.

We still have such a long way to go.

Indeed. Less for YT means more for everyone else. It is becoming a frenzied looting spree. Reminds me of the Foundation empire city Trantor being dismantled for scrap.

Is bored identity the only one to notice that USA is unique country in the world where the historical monuments depicting Real Native Presidents are Threatened by Fake Natives & Real Foreigners, while simultaneously the monuments of Real Foreign Presidents are Dedicated by Fake Natives & Real Foreigners ? *

    * "Thanks to the hard work of the State of Oaxaca, the Mexican Trade Center, the Mexican Consulate, the Bryant Part Restoration Corporation, and Benito Juárez’s many admirers in New York City, we found him this spot on Avenue of Americas, in the historic Bryant Park," said Commissioner Benepe.

"Juárez was very important to the history of Mexico, but his influence also extended well beyond the borders of his nation.
He commands the international reverence that is reserved for figures like Abraham Lincoln and Nelson Mandela."

Not behind the curve at all. A few might be aware, but not enough to cause a social media firestorm and lynch mob political movement that begins to remove Lincoln references all over the country like they do with Confederate names. It will then box in the neo con amd marxist types - often seen on this blog defending lincoln and the north - into admitting he was a racist or defending him against the hordes of ignorant red brigades. That has not even been remotely taking place at any level thus far.

Please pay better attention next time.

Yeah… that’s not going to happen. Slippery slopes are a thing, but so are diminishing marginal returns.
