From the Financial Times:

Italy’s Mafia learns to profit from the migration crisis

… Those funds have proven irresistible to the Mafia, according to Italian prosecutors and watchdog groups, who say criminal groups have succeeded at rigging the awarding of the contracts for the management of migrant reception centres in several high-profile cases.

“This is a very widespread problem. Welcoming migrants has become a big business,” says Gabriella Stramaccioni, who is charge of social policy at Libera, an anti-Mafia organisation. “We believe many centres are involved, in several cities,” she adds.

In one intercepted phone call released by Italian police last year, Salvatore Buzzi, a leftwing social activist who served time in jail for murder in the 1980s, remarked: “Do you have any idea how much I earn on immigrants? Drugs are less profitable.” Mr Buzzi, who was arrested, denies any wrongdoing.

He’s fighting racism and envibrantizing Italy’s white bread culture.

I wouldn't say that it's totally irrelevant, Felix: I for one have a lot more faith in the Mafia's ability to manage the situation in such a way as to ensure that Europeans remain on top. Every bit of news that tells me they're still making the most bank out of whatever self-inflicted disaster the Eurocrats have brought on brings a fresh sliver of joy to my cankled heart.

The mafias involved have politicians and officials in on the action. That's why it's relevant.

The Italian Mafia supporting/profiting from the mass Black African/Muslim migrant invasion of Italy/Europe has some importance because all the bad guys are supporting the migrant invasion:

    The Mafia
The Liberation Theology anti European Pope Francis
    Worst Liberals/Leftists
Worst Hollywood idiots George Clooney/Michael Moore
Worst AntChrist, anti White Neo Conservatives William Kristol, Max Boot, flat out Leftist New Yorkers Chuck Schumer, CNN, MSNBC, the Meathead, Mark Zuckerberg and
The government of Saudi Arabia and ISIS!

That s quote a bad guy team so might as well add in the Mafia

Please explain why you think that the mafia cares about "Europeans." Perhaps you think all Europeans are in the mafia? Mafiosi are far, far more similar to the clannish Muslims invading Europe than to the highly unclannish average European.
    , @Anonymous
They should be rigging the system so that the mafia has incentive to work against immigration.
    , @Buffalo Joe
MJMD, don't kid yourself, the Mafia only cares that they stay on top. Drugs, hardcore porn, arson murder and mayhem, if it turns a profit they're in. I never thought of Mafioso as particularly patriotic.

Sounds like a load of old bollocks to me.

I instinctively doubt that the ‘mafia’ – whoever they might be – people composed of good old ancient Italian stock, in fact legend has it that the Mafia was initially founded as a resistance movement against French occupiers, really, seriously want to ‘dump on Italy’s doorstep’ and make Italy a majority Islamic black/brown nation.

No, my feeling is that whenever Italians feel rattled the word ‘mafia’ is tossed around with reckless abandon and indiscriminate accusation. In much the same way that Italians used to blame ‘England’ – who inflicted a catastrophic defeat back in 1940 – on anything which happened to go wrong with Italy’s government, economy etc.

Aside for having spent a 16 hour stopover walking about the capital I haven't explored Italy so I'm curious as to what the mafia is all about there.

Does anyone have personal knowledge about the reality or exaggeration of what The Mafia is in Italy?
    , @Slappy
Right, because the Mafia are known as proud Italians who care deeply about the good of their nation and its citizens. That's totally why they got into the whole "organized criminal enterprise" thing. La Cosa Nostra has always been locally-focused enterprise. A Mafioso in Palermo doesn't give a crap what havoc is wrought in Venice.

Heck, since most of the migrants really want to go to northern Europe amyway, getting paid to send them on their way to Berlin is a win/win for the Italian mob.
    , @Anonymous
When it comes to money, all bets are off for what the Mafia or any business man will do.

I'm reminded of the quote from the movie, 'The Game' by Michael Douglas:

" You could have pictures of me wearing nipple rings and buttf*cking Captain Kangaroo! The only thing they care about is the stock!..."

I instinctively doubt that the ‘mafia’...want to...make Italy a majority Islamic black/brown nation.

Don Corleone, for sure, wouldn't have lowered himself like that. But I don't knpw about the younger generation.
    , @Grandpa Charlie
First of all, everyone knows that there is no such thing as the Mafia.

Second, the Mafia began as a group of aristocrats (pirates and bandits going back to the old unholy Roman Empire) who hid out in the hills to lead rebellion of the common people to the rule (and taxation) by the Moor conquerors -- this was all prior to the invasion of the Vikings and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, so long before any French invasion

Ah, yes, the Italics of Naples and Sicily: https://youtu.be/uZUJKXs6W-4

Don't take it seriously. It's from a movie (though, to be scientific, yes, southern Italians do have a tad more North African and sub-Saharan African genetic inputs than northern Italians do).

    Off-topic,

    When Is Speech Violence?

When you’re forced to engage a position you strongly disagree with, you learn something about the other perspective as well as your own. The process feels unpleasant, but it’s a good kind of stress — temporary and not harmful to your body — and you reap the longer-term benefits of learning.

What’s bad for your nervous system, in contrast, are long stretches of simmering stress. If you spend a lot of time in a harsh environment worrying about your safety, that’s the kind of stress that brings on illness and remodels your brain. That’s also true of a political climate in which groups of people endlessly hurl hateful words at one another, and of rampant bullying in school or on social media. A culture of constant, casual brutality is toxic to the body, and we suffer for it.

That’s why it’s reasonable, scientifically speaking, not to allow a provocateur and hatemonger like Milo Yiannopoulos to speak at your school. He is part of something noxious, a campaign of abuse. There is nothing to be gained from debating him, for debate is not what he is offering.

On the other hand, when the political scientist Charles Murray argues that genetic factors help account for racial disparities in I.Q. scores, you might find his view to be repugnant and misguided, but it’s only offensive. It is offered as a scholarly hypothesis to be debated, not thrown like a grenade. There is a difference between permitting a culture of casual brutality and entertaining an opinion you strongly oppose. The former is a danger to a civil society (and to our health); the latter is the lifeblood of democracy.

By all means, we should have open conversations and vigorous debate about controversial or offensive topics. But we must also halt speech that bullies and torments. From the perspective of our brain cells, the latter is literally a form of violence.

While I disagree with the claim that "there's nothing to be gained from debating" Milo, who, by any honest account, is a very reasonable individual behind the intermittent inflammatory provocations he enjoys throwing out, I do agree that bullying and gratuitous insults should not be considered protected speech. In a perfect world, all insults would be criminal acts.

The problem of course is that we live in a world where saying "black people should not be above the law" is generally considered more heretical than "all white people should be slaughtered." Thus as a white person it's not in my interest to support anything that restricts "hate speech."

    , @Clark Westwood
We're seeing the early moves in the campaign to make it constitutionally permissible for the government to punish "hate speech." Trump may slow this down more or less, depending on how many good judges he appoints, but eventually the progressive elites -- and the millennials they've indoctrinated -- will push it through. I'm guessing it happens within 20 years.

You guys need a lesson in deriving from first principles, and the first one is understanding what sort of era in which one lives.

    Here is a brief meta...

La Belle Epoque, 1871-1914, Venus was ascendant, world was open, the symbol of civilization was Queen Victoria, etc, etc.

Not a name for the era yet, but future historians will give it one, 1914-1989, Mars was ascendant.

Since then, Venus has gained ascendancy in the global hivemind. Just think of everything that happened in the early nineties resetting the the new frame after the Cold War ended.

Nothing the matter with either mindset, yin needs yang, a season for everything.

Here is another tip, which is believe what people tell you about what they are going to do, you know, Biedermann und Die Brandstifter, it really is true.

    Democrats seek to democratize society

    Republicans to republicanize

Liberals liberalize while Conservatives (ought to, anyhow) conserve.

Feminists feminize (society), it is their stated goal, and they've had great success over the past nearly three decades. They've won, you've lost.

But honestly, saying you guys have lost is like saying Canute lost when he commanded the waves to cease or whatever it was that he did.

As we used to say in the Navy, time, tide, and morning formation waits for no man. Why spend your lives in a futile, exhausting struggle railing against a tidal, secular current that is much greater than you, will defeat your puny efforts, than finding a great wave to surf in these conditions?

    SMH.....

  6. Profiteering on immigration is a huge problem in Sweden as well. Huge industries have rapidly grown up, especially around housing and expanding infrastructure. Thousands of people have made fortunes on this kind of thing. One infamous profiteer is Bert Karlsson, a well known music promoter. He actually started an anti-immigration political party in the 1990s that had some success, but faced with the righteous leftist backlash he went with the flow and made a huge fortune in the “refugee” housing industry.

Same situation in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Mass immigration is being used to prop up a construction, real estate and people-servicing boom in the major cities where most new immigrants tend to cluster.

Those in certain parasitic sectors get rich and Third World migrants gain access to a better life but the existing (white) population doesn't benefit. Housing costs go up, congestion worsens, more people are crush-loaded into trains and onto the roads, schools and hospitals become overloaded, entire neighborhoods are ethnically transformed beyond recognition, the old sense of community vanishes and all the rest of it.

This is a gross and fantastical mischaracterization of the Messinese. Messina was (nearly) the last to fall to the Arabs and the first to be liberated by the Normans. It is much more Greek than Arab. The Arab/Muslim influence is strongest in the west, around Palermo.

  13. Popular opinion in Italy is strongly on the right when it comes to immigration (more so than in most other western countries) but this isn’t translated into government action because of German bribery and Italian corruption.

It’s a similar situation in Greece, where popular hostility to immigration is frustrated by a vested interests that are making money from housing and feeding refugees.

In contrast, North European countries like Sweden have the opposite problem – low corruption but ultra-liberal attitudes.

Yes, there's another reason also. Years ago the Italians would accept these vermin knowing full well most would end up in France, Germany, Britain, etc. They would look good for the PC/shitlib crowd without affecting the nation much. But those countries have 'maxed out' in vermin population so now the Italians are stuck. They are in a contradiction or is it a constipation. Hey you want to be one of the 'liberal democracies', one of the big boys, this is what you get! But still the smart thing to do is to close those ports! Of course I would love it if a rogue Italian AF pilot or a crew of a Italian sub would sink one of those 'rescue' boats full of vermin. It would be glorious, lol, and like another poster said, would stem the tide of those... 'migrants'. (I can be PC also) lol

I must have missed Spain leaving the EU.

My interpretation here would be that this implies that Italy is being a whimp--and creating this disaster--in a way that is not required by or forced on it by EU rules and conventions.

As I've said, stopping human trafficking is entirely legal--it's against the law. Italy merely has to sail out and do it.

  15. Thousands (!) of Italian communities resist the Government (and EU) politics, which imply to make room for the migrants. Italy now privatizes migrant housing and social care. And privatization in Italy means, that the Mafia plays it’s part, inevitably.

The EU alone guaranteed 4, 5 billion Euros in 2017 for the “Italian Refugee Crisis”. Now you figure that out. As a rule of thump: At the very least, 20% of that amount will simply disappear in the Mafia-public-private structures of the dysfunctional Italian system.
This would be 900 million Euros. – At least.

OT - race doesn't exist, but genomes are different in different countries, says the BBC.

"But although the subcontinent contributes around 20% of the world's population, the DNA sequences of its people make up around 0.2% of global genetic databases.
In a similar vein, 81% of the world's genomic information has been collected from people with European ancestry. Still, this is an improvement from a staggering 96% back in 2009."

A world of free movement would be $78 trillion richer

Yes, it would be disruptive. But the potential gains are so vast that objectors could be bribed to let it happen

… Michael Clemens, an economist at the Centre for Global Development, an anti-poverty think-tank in Washington, DC, argues that there are “trillion-dollar bills on the sidewalk”.

More like trillion-dollar bills rotting in the streets.

… Workers in rich countries earn more than those in poor countries partly because they are better educated but mostly because they live in societies that have, over many years, developed institutions that foster prosperity and peace. It is very hard to transfer Canadian institutions to Cambodia, but quite straightforward for a Cambodian family to fly to Canada.

You mean those institutions developed over many years, to be dismantled in a few by the millions who didn’t/couldn’t develop them themselves?

… If lots of people migrated from war-torn Syria, gangster-plagued Guatemala or chaotic Congo, would they bring mayhem with them? It is an understandable fear (and one that anti-immigrant politicians play on), but there is little besides conjecture and anecdotal evidence to support it. Granted, some immigrants commit crimes, or even headline-grabbing acts of terrorism. But in America

    – wait for it –

the foreign-born are only a fifth as likely to be incarcerated as the native-born. In some European countries, such as Sweden, migrants are more likely to get into trouble than locals, but this is mostly because they are more likely to be young and male. A study of migration flows among 145 countries between 1970 and 2000 by researchers at the University of Warwick found that migration was more likely to reduce terrorism than increase it, largely because migration fosters economic growth.

So just think of all the terrorism we’ve already averted thanks to immigration!

Newcomers from illiberal lands might bring unwelcome customs, such as political corruption or intolerance for gay people. If enough of them came, they might vote for an Islamist government, or one that raises taxes on the native-born to pamper the newcomers.

… But nearly all these risks could be mitigated, and many of the most common objections overcome, with a bit of creative thinking.

If the worry is that immigrants will outvote the locals and impose an uncongenial government on them, one solution would be not to let immigrants vote—for five years, ten years or even a lifetime.

    That ought to hold it!

If the worry is that future migrants might not pay their way, why not charge them more for visas, or make them pay extra taxes, or restrict their access to welfare benefits?

Yeah, why aren’t we already denying the twentieth generation of African migrant workers welfare? This creative long-term thinking stuff is easy — why were we so bad at it back then?

… “Open borders would make foreigners trillions of dollars richer,” observes Mr Caplan. A thoughtful voter, even if he does not care about the welfare of foreigners, “should not say…‘So what?’ Instead, he should say, ‘Trillions of dollars of wealth are on the table. How can my countrymen get a hefty piece of the action?’ Modern governments routinely use taxes and transfers to redistribute from young to old and rich to poor. Why not use the same policy tools to redistribute from foreign to native?” If a world of free movement would be $78trn richer, should not liberals be prepared to make big political compromises to bring it about?

Gee, this sounds nothing like all the other times we’ve endured incomprehensible political upheaval to import a foreign underclass to labor for the short-term financial benefit of all the wrong people.

    Migration Crisis

It wouldn't be a crisis if they'd just turn the boats back -- take the people back to Africa rather than bringing them to Italy -- if they did that, the boats would stop -- duh -- the crisis is that Europe is run by weak, stupid women and manlets.

The US has its own immigration/migration problem:

Profiteering on immigration is a huge problem in Sweden as well. Huge industries have rapidly grown up, especially around housing and expanding infrastructure. Thousands of people have made fortunes on this kind of thing. One infamous profiteer is Bert Karlsson, a well known music promoter. He actually started an anti-immigration political party in the 1990s that had some success, but faced with the righteous leftist backlash he went with the flow and made a huge fortune in the "refugee" housing industry.

    http://www.reuters.com/article/us-europe-migrants-swedenbusiness-idUSKCN0RO1HV20150924

My favorite example is a woman who worked as a middle manager at the Swedish Department of Migration while at the same time owning a company placing refugees. The kicker: She was also an Arab immigrant herself.

Popular opinion in Italy is strongly on the right when it comes to immigration (more so than in most other western countries) but this isn't translated into government action because of German bribery and Italian corruption.

It's a similar situation in Greece, where popular hostility to immigration is frustrated by a vested interests that are making money from housing and feeding refugees.

In contrast, North European countries like Sweden have the opposite problem - low corruption but ultra-liberal attitudes.

Yes, there’s another reason also. Years ago the Italians would accept these vermin knowing full well most would end up in France, Germany, Britain, etc. They would look good for the PC/shitlib crowd without affecting the nation much. But those countries have ‘maxed out’ in vermin population so now the Italians are stuck. They are in a contradiction or is it a constipation. Hey you want to be one of the ‘liberal democracies’, one of the big boys, this is what you get! But still the smart thing to do is to close those ports! Of course I would love it if a rogue Italian AF pilot or a crew of a Italian sub would sink one of those ‘rescue’ boats full of vermin. It would be glorious, lol, and like another poster said, would stem the tide of those… ‘migrants’. (I can be PC also) lol

  24. The first two Godfather movies were great films and tremendously entertaining but “Pure Hollywood” and pure fantasy. The horse’s head in the bed, take the cannolis and leave the gun, I was making my bones when you were going out with cheerleaders, and on & on. Great stuff but out-and-out absurd tall tales which were expertly told!

The MAFIA is nothing but a loosely organized collection of low-IQ criminal psychopaths as well as a group of inarticulate homicidal maniacs.

From the July 15, 2017 editions of the New York Daily News :

A 55-year-old man stabbed inside a Queens bar has died — and police sources say a brawl over tattoos led to the senseless killing.

The man who fatally stabbed John Savillo was questioned, but let go without charges after it was determined he had killed his opponent in self-defense.

Witnesses told police that Savillo and his 35-year-old girlfriend were inside Cookie’s Lounge on Cross Bay Blvd. near Sutter Ave. in Ozone Park around 1 a.m. Thursday when they were approached by another couple.

When the couple commented on Savillo’s girlfriend’s tattoos, Savillo took offense and began arguing with them, sources said.

As the argument escalated, Savillo lunged at the man, cracking a chair over his head. Savillo also choked his victim, police sources said.

As the battle continued, Savillo’s opponent grabbed a knife and stabbed him in the chest and stomach, cutting up the man’s intestines and puncturing his liver.

Mortally wounded, Savillo hobbled over to the bar, begging for help.

The bartender put pressure on the wound and called 911 as Savillo’s killer approached, witnesses told police.

“Please, please stop … he’s coming for me now,” the bartender said to the operator while making a 911 call, according to police sources.

As cops were called, the killer and his girlfriend ran out of the bar.

Medics rushed Savillo to Jamaica Hospital, where he underwent hours of surgery before dying.

His attacker, who has never been arrested before, surrendered to authorities Thursday afternoon.

Cops questioned the 36-year-old suspect, then released him.

Since his statements align with witness accounts that Savillo started the fight, no charges will be immediately filed, a spokesman for the Queens District Attorney’s office said.

“We are declining prosecution pending further investigation,” the spokesman said.

What is the take-away from the above “news” article. Important MAFIA guy kills somebody who pissed him off in a mob bar in Queens and the Queens DA refuses to press charges because the Queens DA is in the hip pocket of the MAFIA. No wonder why the disorganized Blacks in Harlem are insanely jealous!

    P. S. The funniest line in the NYDN article is “His attacker, who has never been arrested before, surrendered to authorities Thursday afternoon.” TRANSLATION : The killer always had enough money in his wallet to keep his name out of the papers and buy off any Assistant District Attorney who was ever assigned to his various criminal cases!

    P. P. S The reason Cookie’s Lounge is not named OFFICIAL MAFIA BAR, NO SKELLS ADMITTED is because that would be advertising! And the MAFIA does not wish to advertise.

P.P.P.S And also remember Jack Ruby shot Lee Harvey Oswald in Dallas on November 24, 1963 in self-defense. (For those who don’t know, Ruby would regularly call up Norio Pecora of the New Orleans Marcello mob & ask for advice about how much to pay off patrolmen and detectives in the Dallas PD. It’s a small and well connected world out there! Jack Ruby owned two bars for the Marcello mob in Dallas).

  25. Speaking of an immigration crisis:

“According to University of London professor Eric Kaufmann, almost seven out of 10 Vancouver residents will be “visible minorities” within two decades and 80 per cent of the Canadian population (compared to 20 per cent today) will be non-white in less than century.

Kaufmann notes that, with its continuing high immigration intake and the fact that four out of five newcomers are visible minorities, Canada is undergoing the fastest rate of ethnic change of any country in the Western world.

Questions must be asked about why such drastic population replacement is taking place and who is benefiting from it.

    ….

If Canada continues along its present path as described by Kaufmann, we will become one of the first and perhaps the only country in the world to voluntarily allow its population to be largely replaced by people from elsewhere.”

“Opinion: Canada replacing its population a case of wilful ignorance, greed, excess political correctness”, Vancouver Sun

Thousands (!) of Italian communities resist the Government (and EU) politics, which imply to make room for the migrants. Italy now privatizes migrant housing and social care. And privatization in Italy means, that the Mafia plays it's part, inevitably.

The EU alone guaranteed 4, 5 billion Euros in 2017 for the "Italian Refugee Crisis". Now you figure that out. As a rule of thump: At the very least, 20% of that amount will simply disappear in the Mafia-public-private structures of the dysfunctional Italian system.
This would be 900 million Euros. - At least.

“But although the subcontinent contributes around 20% of the world’s population, the DNA sequences of its people make up around 0.2% of global genetic databases.
In a similar vein, 81% of the world’s genomic information has been collected from people with European ancestry. Still, this is an improvement from a staggering 96% back in 2009.”

While I disagree with the claim that “there’s nothing to be gained from debating” Milo, who, by any honest account, is a very reasonable individual behind the intermittent inflammatory provocations he enjoys throwing out, I do agree that bullying and gratuitous insults should not be considered protected speech. In a perfect world, all insults would be criminal acts.

The problem of course is that we live in a world where saying “black people should not be above the law” is generally considered more heretical than “all white people should be slaughtered.” Thus as a white person it’s not in my interest to support anything that restricts “hate speech.”

Your notion is unworkable in a world inhabited by humans. But with the utopian impulse of the Left, they'll make your "perfect" world a requirement. Deviation from perfection will result in sending offenders to the Gulag to enforce your prescription.

Be careful how you define "perfect" - lest you find yourself in Siberia.

In much the same way that Italians used to blame 'England' - who inflicted a catastrophic defeat back in 1940 - on anything which happened to go wrong with Italy's government, economy etc.

Aside for having spent a 16 hour stopover walking about the capital I haven’t explored Italy so I’m curious as to what the mafia is all about there.

Does anyone have personal knowledge about the reality or exaggeration of what The Mafia is in Italy?

I have no on the ground knowledge of the Mafia in Italy at all.

But from what I know about Mafia-type outfits in the UK and Asia I would imagine that at least part of their power comes from the legend of their being a fierce implacable foe etc.. My personal observation of criminal groups like this is that many of the personnel are fairly stupid. There are usually easier and safer ways to make money legally. In all countries the criminal fraternity tends to be low IQ and stylishly crude.

I want to strongly recommend the film Il Divo that explores the former Italian prime minister Giulio Andreotti's supposed links to the Mafia before he turned against them. An absolute cracker of a film that fades in the last quarter as it goes into a trial process.

It very cleverly permits 'Andreotti' to defend and explain himself and to suggest that one has to work with the materials one has available. Andreotti, who was still alive when the film was made, strangely becomes the anti-hero of this anti-Mafia film.

I don't know enough about Italian recent history to judge it's attack but as a mood piece it is terrific.

Salvatore Riina, the Mafia chieftain, is portrayed as a Typhon with urine-stained pants.

(Go to 1' 30" to skip the opening glossary:)

Il Divo makes good use of music. Even Gabriel Faure's lovely Pavane Op 50 comes across as slightly threatening!

This is a gross and fantastical mischaracterization of the Messinese. Messina was (nearly) the last to fall to the Arabs and the first to be liberated by the Normans. It is much more Greek than Arab. The Arab/Muslim influence is strongest in the west, around Palermo.

I think the population of Messina at the time was predominantly Greek Orthodox with French/Italian Catholic and Arab Muslim minorities. I think the people resented the Crusaders, who were mostly from northern France/Low Countries, had no experience with a more cosmopolitan Mediterranean environment, and repeatedly alienated the locals in various ways (quartering troops in an Orthodox monastery, taking advantage of local women, etc.)

We didn’t learn any of this from the news until very recently when the refugee flow slowed for a couple of months. Then we started to see stories about different non-profits whose cash flow was severely disrupted and had to layoff employees. How would they survive?

    Where's Trump?

Smarter folks on the right have talked about "defunding the left" for at least a generation now. Refugees is the worst of it--because biology--but there are enormous pipelines of tax dollars to all sorts of leftist organizations ("housing", "civil rights", "education", etc.).

If you want to win, you need to completely cut off the money so these organizations whither and die. The white Lutheran girl who is filling out paperwork to get some Somalis on Minnesota's welfare gets laid off and is instead dishing out lattes at Starbucks or--in a fantasy world--gets married and is having white babies.

That's how you win. You reduce the number of people sucking on this tit. As you reduce that toward zero, then the political constituency screaming for this particular tit goes toward zero as well.

Paging Miller, Bannon ... c'mon. Starve this nasty beast.

Right, because the Mafia are known as proud Italians who care deeply about the good of their nation and its citizens. That’s totally why they got into the whole “organized criminal enterprise” thing. La Cosa Nostra has always been locally-focused enterprise. A Mafioso in Palermo doesn’t give a crap what havoc is wrought in Venice.

It's not the first time that muslims have conquered Sicily. I wonder how much Islam was an influence in the formation of the mafia in the first place.

Supposedly mafia is a corruption of an Arabic or Berber word for tribe, not a mother screaming “don’t rape my daughter” as evil French soldiers dragged girls out of church to rape them in full view.

It wouldn't be a crisis if they'd just turn the boats back -- take the people back to Africa rather than bringing them to Italy -- if they did that, the boats would stop -- duh -- the crisis is that Europe is run by weak, stupid women and manlets.

Greece seems plenty cucked, the average person is about one turn of bad luck from being on the street and still they want more immavaders. By all accounts taking in lots and lots of rapefugees is highly popular and Golden Dawn polls somewhere around 1% or so.

You can’t fight immavaders with politics. Men seeking to appease their women (daughters, wives) automatically fall into cuck-ism. Its why all efforts to seek to keep immavaders out failed, save Israel, where women don’t have as much sway due to combat and the draft and about zero margin for error. Women will always favor immavaders, they prefer 60 IQ goat herders as long as they can be reasonably assumed to have killed someone; to their own men burdened by much higher IQ and less levels of violence. That’s just how women are hard-wired. They can’t help it and won’t change, ever.

Rather, social, cultural, and street-control action is required. Mafias have been defeated before — gangsters were riding high in Gold Rush SF until the Committee of Vigilance took them down, and in Mexico groups of vigilantes fight their own collusive government and the cartels at considerable risk. Much of this outside the Mafia does not come down to violence, just parading like the Orangemen to make sure everyone knows its their streets, right through “immigrant” neighborhoods, social action against cat ladies and cucks, etc. Call it Project FEAR. There is no end of ways in which being feared is better than being loved.

Result: Spanish death count of migrants on the Mediterranean Sea in 2016: 300. EU-death count at the same time: 3000.

Sounds like a load of old bollocks to me.

I instinctively doubt that the 'mafia' - whoever they might be - people composed of good old ancient Italian stock, in fact legend has it that the Mafia was initially founded as a resistance movement against French occupiers, really, seriously want to 'dump on Italy's doorstep' and make Italy a majority Islamic black/brown nation.

No, my feeling is that whenever Italians feel rattled the word 'mafia' is tossed around with reckless abandon and indiscriminate accusation. In much the same way that Italians used to blame 'England' - who inflicted a catastrophic defeat back in 1940 - on anything which happened to go wrong with Italy's government, economy etc.

When it comes to money, all bets are off for what the Mafia or any business man will do.

I’m reminded of the quote from the movie, ‘The Game’ by Michael Douglas:

” You could have pictures of me wearing nipple rings and buttf*cking Captain Kangaroo! The only thing they care about is the stock!…”

According to Elliot Kauffman at National Review, getting Africans to use contraception is un-WOKE:

Denmark’s minister for development cooperation, Ulla Tornaes was surprisingly honest about one of the reasons her nation promotes family planning in Africa: “If the population growth in Africa continues as now, the African population will double from 1.2 billion people to 2.5 billion people by 2050,” Tornaes said. ”Part of the solution to reducing migratory pressures on Europe is to reduce the very high population growth in many African countries.” What better way is there to keep Africans out of Europe, after all, than to keep them from being born?

France has made family planning “a major focus of its strategy to reduce child and maternal mortality,” notes its directorate-general for global affairs. In order to prevent complications from pregnancies, the thinking goes, just reduce the number of third-world pregnancies. At the G-20 summit, Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, claimed to be alarmed by African “women having seven or eight children.” To think of people this way — not as unique individuals created by a loving God, but as burdens and roadblocks to economic development — is cruel, but liberal above all.

Dunno. The BBC, after all, did give us Captain Jack Harkness, Dr Who's male bisexual buddy....

Jack is the first openly non-heterosexual character in the history of televised Doctor Who. The popularity of the character amongst multiple audiences directly influenced the development of the spin-off series Torchwood. The character became a figure of the British public consciousness, rapidly gaining fame for portrayer John Barrowman. As an ongoing depiction of bisexuality in mainstream British television, the character became a role model for young gay and bisexual people in the UK. Jack is featured in various Doctor Who and Torchwood books and has action figures created in his likeness.

The white Lutheran girl who is filling out paperwork to get some Somalis on Minnesota’s welfare gets laid off and is instead dishing out lattes at Starbucks or–in a fantasy world–gets married and is having white babies.

That’s how you win. You reduce the number of people sucking on this tit. As you reduce that toward zero, then the political constituency screaming for this particular tit goes toward zero as well.

You guys need a lesson in deriving from first principles, and the first one is understanding what sort of era in which one lives.

    Here is a brief meta…

Feminists feminize (society), it is their stated goal, and they’ve had great success over the past nearly three decades. They’ve won, you’ve lost.

    SMH…..

I instinctively doubt that the ‘mafia’…want to…make Italy a majority Islamic black/brown nation.

They can shake down immigants far more readily than native Italians. Illegals will be afraid to contact the police if they're being shaken down. The Mafia can also hire all the muscle they want from immigrants desperate for a job, and will be able to create whole armies under their control of Islamic immigrants gangs which can be used to terrorizie native Italians (and Italian politicians) into submission, or used to take over neighborhoods. The Mafia is indeed that cynical and vicious.

Yeah, the Mafia benefits quite a lot from an Italian society overrun by immigrants and in a state of messy social collapse. Anything that weakens the rule of law and wrecks an orderly, well-run society benefits them.

First of all, everyone knows that there is no such thing as the Mafia.

Second, the Mafia began as a group of aristocrats (pirates and bandits going back to the old unholy Roman Empire) who hid out in the hills to lead rebellion of the common people to the rule (and taxation) by the Moor conquerors — this was all prior to the invasion of the Vikings and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, so long before any French invasion

Charlie ,.. "first of all, everyone knows there is no such thing as the Mafia." Hope you are being facetious. There is a very well researched book, "The Last Godfathers" by John Follain, which explains that the mafia control fully one third of Italy's GDP. The book relates among other things how the Mafia assassinated Italy's equivalent of our Attorney General and blew up a major art gallery to show their power.

Resettling refuges is the Left’s prison industrial complex. All honesty or morality gets thrown to the wayside for a few thousands of dollars each. The churches and other organizations throw their long-time members under the bus so they can keep the cash flow going.

I’ve thought one of the best steps we could have taken was watching lefties blow a billion dollars trying to get Hillary not-elected. That was very satisfying, since that money applied towards other crazed leftist causes could have done a lot of social damage.

Messina, being first in Sicily for affluence, abounds with good things, but its citizens are wicked and cruel. Many claim descent from Saracens. They are insolent, hostile, pointing their fingers into their eyes to mock or threaten strangers, sneering, cutting throats, pushing their victims into sewers. Hence they are called griffons.

That a few million dollars might be diverted from the refugee scam mafia to the actual mafia as a byproduct of this process is so incredibly irrelevant that the sheer scope of the irrelevancy can only be described in cosmic terms. There are billions of stars in a galaxy and billions of galaxies in the universe. The mafia angle is as irrelevant to the thing itself as the universe is huge.

The Italian Mafia supporting/profiting from the mass Black African/Muslim migrant invasion of Italy/Europe has some importance because all the bad guys are supporting the migrant invasion:

Dunno. The BBC, after all, did give us Captain Jack Harkness, Dr Who’s male bisexual buddy….

In a perfect world, all insults would be criminal acts.

Your notion is unworkable in a world inhabited by humans. But with the utopian impulse of the Left, they’ll make your “perfect” world a requirement. Deviation from perfection will result in sending offenders to the Gulag to enforce your prescription.

Be careful how you define “perfect” – lest you find yourself in Siberia.

Aside for having spent a 16 hour stopover walking about the capital I haven't explored Italy so I'm curious as to what the mafia is all about there.

Does anyone have personal knowledge about the reality or exaggeration of what The Mafia is in Italy?

I have no on the ground knowledge of the Mafia in Italy at all.

But from what I know about Mafia-type outfits in the UK and Asia I would imagine that at least part of their power comes from the legend of their being a fierce implacable foe etc.. My personal observation of criminal groups like this is that many of the personnel are fairly stupid. There are usually easier and safer ways to make money legally. In all countries the criminal fraternity tends to be low IQ and stylishly crude.

I want to strongly recommend the film Il Divo that explores the former Italian prime minister Giulio Andreotti’s supposed links to the Mafia before he turned against them. An absolute cracker of a film that fades in the last quarter as it goes into a trial process.

It very cleverly permits ‘Andreotti’ to defend and explain himself and to suggest that one has to work with the materials one has available. Andreotti, who was still alive when the film was made, strangely becomes the anti-hero of this anti-Mafia film.

I don’t know enough about Italian recent history to judge it’s attack but as a mood piece it is terrific.

Salvatore Riina, the Mafia chieftain, is portrayed as a Typhon with urine-stained pants.

(Go to 1′ 30″ to skip the opening glossary:)

    Good review of Il Divo.

I thought Gomorrah was a much inferior film that did not make its case well at all; and put me off attempting the book.

I had not realised how 'complicated' Mino Pecorelli, the murdered journalist, was until just now:

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carmine_Pecorelli

I note that Perry Anderson thought that Mrs Thatcher was out of her depth in Europe facing the serpentine skills of likes of Andreotti; I think this is harsh. It was cheese and chalk. An Ulster evangelist trying to buy a carpet in an Istanbul souk.

    https://www.lrb.co.uk/v18/n02/perry-anderson/the-europe-to-come

I had no idea until a few days ago, when I was told, that Perry was a brother to Benedict "Imagined Communities" Anderson.

What is hardly mentioned in the world news is, that Spain does block the migrants-boats, and very successfully so. Result: Spanish death count of migrants on the Mediterranean Sea in 2016: 300.
EU-death count at the same time: 3000.

Can someone remind me why Italy has to take all these refugee boats, including one collected by various non-mediterranean navies and assorted meddling NGOs, but France and Spain can reject them?

Here's my review of "Il Divo" in "The American Conservative:"

    https://www.unz.com/isteve/il-divo-2/

    Good review of Il Divo.

I thought Gomorrah was a much inferior film that did not make its case well at all; and put me off attempting the book.

I had not realised how ‘complicated’ Mino Pecorelli, the murdered journalist, was until just now:

I note that Perry Anderson thought that Mrs Thatcher was out of her depth in Europe facing the serpentine skills of likes of Andreotti; I think this is harsh. It was cheese and chalk. An Ulster evangelist trying to buy a carpet in an Istanbul souk.

I had no idea until a few days ago, when I was told, that Perry was a brother to Benedict “Imagined Communities” Anderson.

There is no reason that this — not to mention our own migration problems — could be rapidly sorted out.

First — people without papers need to be identified. Secondly, migrants need to be sorted from refugees rapidly.

But mainly, there needs to be a requirement that all applications be made prior to entering the EU.

The UN wants to turn virtually all migrants into refugees. But even the EU hasn’t ceded all authority to the UN Refugee bureaucracy. And it isn’t like there aren’t enough rules to do whatever the political winds suggest. Germans are more than capable of dealing with paperwork and rules.

Some Italians have the mentality that they have to outdo the Northern Europeans in ‘shitlibery’. Unfortunately they populate the current Italian government! Fortunatley most of the Italian people, both Northern and Southern are starting to rebel against this ‘shit lib’ mentality.

    OT: Chechens being Checheny

    http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-07-10/merkel-migrant-blowback-begins-chechen-sharia-police-terrorize-berlin

In one instance, a young Chechen woman was recorded on video while walking down a street in Berlin and conversing with a non-Chechen man. That same evening, a few dozen unknown Chechen men drove to her house in northern Berlin. The man she had been seen with was brutally beaten; almost all of his teeth were knocked out. The young woman managed to hide.

That same evening, a few dozen unknown Chechen men drove to her house in northern Berlin.

how can “a few dozen…Chechen men” be “unknown”?

Profiteering on immigration is a huge problem in Sweden as well. Huge industries have rapidly grown up, especially around housing and expanding infrastructure. Thousands of people have made fortunes on this kind of thing. One infamous profiteer is Bert Karlsson, a well known music promoter. He actually started an anti-immigration political party in the 1990s that had some success, but faced with the righteous leftist backlash he went with the flow and made a huge fortune in the "refugee" housing industry.

Same situation in Australia, New Zealand and Canada. Mass immigration is being used to prop up a construction, real estate and people-servicing boom in the major cities where most new immigrants tend to cluster.

Those in certain parasitic sectors get rich and Third World migrants gain access to a better life but the existing (white) population doesn’t benefit. Housing costs go up, congestion worsens, more people are crush-loaded into trains and onto the roads, schools and hospitals become overloaded, entire neighborhoods are ethnically transformed beyond recognition, the old sense of community vanishes and all the rest of it.

..and they keep the wages of the native population down as you have 'migrant' labor working for less. The ones that work anyway.
Like I said, Italy was playing it cute, on both sides of the fence as most of those 'migrants' kept going north but now that's been stopped and Italy is stuck with them also. I see a quick fix by the Italiand now. In this case they have to do something fast or they're toast!

OT: Get yourself a copy of The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam by Douglas Murray. It's the most clearly written book on immigration I've ever read, it has no partisan diatribes and it's almost entirely about Europe, so it won't offend your friends who hate our president and associate immigration reform with racism. Don't be put off by the fact that it's about Europe; every single strategy used to Islamify and Africanize Europe has been used against us.

There are gems on every page.

    That’s a big call.

For me, Lawrence Auster’s The Path to National Suicide (ok, so it’s an essay) remains the most influential as it reframed how I thought about the entire immigration debate.

For those who haven’t read it, it’s conveniently available online here.

Apparently Auster was putting together a book on the topic before he died. Not sure what happened to it.

Christopher Caldwell’s Reflections and Byron Roth’s Perils of Diversity are also good.

    Thanks, I'll post.

Since blogs reported on it, German broadsheets start reporting, too, also some English language sources, eg http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4703386/Riots-German-festival-Iraqi-sexually-harassing-women.html.
