Hillary Clinton: Europe must curb immigration to stop rightwing populists

Clinton, Blair, Renzi: why we lost, and how to fight back
Patrick Wintour Diplomatic editor Thu 22 Nov 2018 0

Hillary Clinton, a former US presidential candidate, suggests immigration contributed to Brexit and Donald Trump’s election.

Europe must get a handle on immigration to combat a growing threat from rightwing populists, Hillary Clinton has said, calling on the continent’s leaders to send out a stronger signal showing they are “not going to be able to continue to provide refuge and support”.

It’s almost as if the moderate, sensible approach to immigration policy is that of right wing extremists and the extreme approach is that of moderates. But how could that be? After all haven’t we each read a million times that prudent protection of the borders is extremist? And that moderates have hazy views on whether borders are legitimate at all, but seem to oppose any particular attempt to protect borders?

In an interview with the Guardian, the former Democratic presidential candidate praised the generosity shown by the German chancellor, Angela Merkel, but suggested immigration was inflaming voters and contributed to the election of Donald Trump and Britain’s vote to leave the EU.

“I think Europe needs to get a handle on migration because that is what lit the flame,” Clinton said, speaking as part of a series of interviews with senior centrist political figures about the rise of populists, particularly on the right, in Europe and the Americas.

“I admire the very generous and compassionate approaches that were taken particularly by leaders like Angela Merkel, but I think it is fair to say Europe has done its part, and must send a very clear message – ‘we are not going to be able to continue provide refuge and support’ – because if we don’t deal with the migration issue it will continue to roil the body politic.”

Clinton’s remarks are likely to prove controversial across Europe, which has struggled to form a unified position ever since more than 1 million migrants and refugees arrived in the EU in 2015.

While some countries who have borne the brunt, such as Germany, Italy and Greece, have argued for the burden to be shared more evenly, some, particularly in central and eastern Europe, have rejected demands to take in refugees. …

Because that’s really the big point about that unnamed event of 2015: not Chancellor Merkel unilaterally and whimsically suspending an EU regulation that is central to Europe’s future, but Poland and Hungary not going along with a plan made up to a paper over Merkel’s Mistake and implicate everybody else in it too.

Clinton was one of three heavyweights of the centre-left interviewed by the Guardian to better understand why their brand of politics appears to be failing. All three have seen their countries upended by political events that to some degree can be explained by the success of rightwing populism.

The other two interviewees, Tony Blair and Matteo Renzi, agreed that the migration issue had posed significant problems for centrist politics.

“You’ve got to deal with the legitimate grievances and answer them, which is why today in Europe you cannot possibly stand for election unless you’ve got a strong position on immigration because people are worried about it,” Blair said. “You’ve got to answer those problems. If you don’t answer them then … you leave a large space into which the populists can march.”

  1. “In an interview with the Guardian, the former Democratic presidential candidate ”

Assuming the interview was done over the phone? How can anyone be sure it was actually Hill that was at the other end? I am one of those who hold serious doubts about the frequency of Hillary’s lucid days. She’s made what… 3 public appearances since losing the election two years ago. Getting tougher for her people to get her extensive med cocktail mixed right so she can string together complete sentences.

    • Replies: @Cagey Beast
No, I've seen several interviews with her and she's very much in control and able to weave her webs. I found her to be sinister, not senile.
  2. Well, she’s approaching the idea ass-backward, but she get’s it.

She’d be President now, if she had come out with this statement in 2016.

    • Replies: @Anonymous
    Yes.

But seriously, would *you* trust her to be serious on immigration control?

Remember, Merkel made anti immigration noises back in 2010.
  3. I just wish that someone would ask one our elites/elite politicians why they wish to change our demographics and culture, and do it if front of an audience, so that the reply or evasion can be seen by everyone. It’s too late to say that isn’t the intent, since everyone, including Bill Clinton, has publicly announced that the nation will change, and whites will be the minority. I’d like to know why, and by what right they are doing this. Why not just get to the point?

    • Replies: @Live Free or McRib
Fair question, but what would their truthful answer really do? We can already pretty much guess the answer.

These folks either a) don't like white people, b) work for people who have a profound dislike for white people, or c) think black people (the world's official victims) will be better off with white people getting stomped.

In a war it doesn't add much to ponder why the other guy is shooting at you.
  4. Posted this elsewhere, but it seems to fit here:

Why the Announcement of a Looming White Minority Makes Demographers Nervous

The graphic was splashy by the Census Bureau’s standards and it showed an unmistakable moment in America’s future: the year 2044, when white Americans were projected to fall below half the population and lose their majority status.

The presentation of the data disturbed Kenneth Prewitt, a former Census Bureau director, who saw it while looking through a government report. The graphic made demographic change look like a zero-sum game that white Americans were losing, he thought, and could provoke a political backlash.

The time ain’t ripe, OK? We gotta keep YT asleep for just another decade or two….

“I said ‘I’m really worried about this,’” said Dr. Prewitt, now a professor of public affairs at Columbia University. He added, “Statistics are powerful. They are a description of who we are as a country. If you say majority-minority, that becomes a huge fact in the national discourse.”

Just keep it on the down-low……For now….

In a nation preoccupied by race, the moment when white Americans will make up less than half the country’s population has become an object of fascination.

For white nationalists, it signifies a kind of doomsday clock counting down to the end of racial and cultural dominance. For progressives who seek an end to Republican power, the year points to inevitable political triumph, when they imagine voters of color will rise up and hand victories to the Democratic Party.

Yeah, YT gonna get it then…..Whoops! Pardon the drooling….

Jennifer Richeson, a social psychologist at Yale University, spotted the risk immediately. As an analyst of group behavior, she knew that group size was a marker of dominance and that a group getting smaller could feel threatened.

Totally irrational fear, YT. Just ask the Jews in Israel….They’re completely indifferent to issues of population size….

But she did, together with a colleague, Maureen Craig, a social psychologist at New York University, and they have been talking about the results ever since. Their findings, first published in 2014, showed that white Americans who were randomly assigned to read about the racial shift were more likely to report negative feelings toward racial minorities than those who were not. They were also more likely to support restrictive immigration policies and to say that whites would likely lose status and face discrimination in the future.

Mary Waters, a sociologist at Harvard University, remembered being stunned when she saw the research.

“It was like, ‘Oh wow, these nerdy projections are scaring the hell out of people,” she said.

    So ixnay onyay ethay ojectionspray….

It was not just white nationalists worried about losing racial dominance. Dr. Myers watched as progressives, envisioning political power, became enamored with the idea of a coming white minority. He said it was hard to interest them in his work on ways to make the change seem less threatening to fearful white Americans — for instance by emphasizing the good that could come from immigration.

Need to rein it in, boys/girls/non-binaries….

“It was conquest, our day has come,” he said of their reaction. “They wanted to overpower them with numbers. It was demographic destiny.”

Dr. Myers and a colleague later found that presenting the data differently could produce a much less anxious reaction. In work published this spring, they found that the negative effects that came from reading about a white decline were largely erased when the same people read about how the white category was in fact getting bigger by absorbing multiracial young people through intermarriage.

Look, you know, and I know, that this is rubbish…..But most YTs are easily fooled by this kind of stuff

Race is difficult to count because, unlike income or employment, it is a social category that shifts with changes in culture, immigration, and ideas about genetics.

Yup, the definitions of what count as rich and poor are fixed and immutable….but race is just a will-a-the wisp….

So who counts as white has changed over time. In the 1910s and 1920s, the last time immigrants were such a large share of the American population, there were furious arguments over how to categorize newcomers from Europe.

But eventually, the immigrants from eastern and southern Europe came to be considered white.

Yeah, I mean we all remember how Poles were legally defined as Black until, what, 1933?

That is because race is about power, not biology, said Charles King, a political science professor at Georgetown University.

“The closer you get to social power, the closer you get to whiteness,” said Dr. King, author of a coming book on Franz Boas, the early 20th-century anthropologist who argued against theories of racial difference. The one group that was never allowed to cross the line into whiteness was African-Americans, he said — the long-term legacy of slavery.

If it weren’t for slavery, these women would be White….

William Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution, argued that the Census Bureau was doing the best that it could at a time when society was changing quickly. He was skeptical that today’s Asians and Hispanics were analogous to the white ethnic Americans of the 20th century, and believed that a less conservative count would not do much to change the bigger picture.

Dammit, who let that slip by? How are we supposed to keep YT oblivious when stuff like this is getting printed?

Others say they are not sugarcoating statistics, but showing that the numbers have many interpretations, and that white-versus-everyone-else is only one.

It’s just the most effective…..Remember, this is the face of the enemy:

The Census Bureau released new projections this year in March filled with data about the country’s future. In the coming decades, adults 65 and older will outnumber children for the first time in the country’s history. The share of mixed-race children is set to double.

But there was no mention of a year when white Americans would fall below half the population.

When asked about the change, a spokesman for the Bureau said: “It was just us getting back to sticking to data.”

    Wink-Wink, nudge-nudge….

Great post. Easy to see the future demographics of the USA . Already the demographics of Americans under the age of 12 just 50% white (but this is counting the Arabs, Persians, North Africans and many Hispanics as white). In reality whites under the age of 20 less than 50% of the population and the non-whites have higher fertility than whites. The average age of white Americans is 45 while the average age of non-whites is 31 years-old. In addition 950,000 non-whites are immigrating each year, with just 250,000 whites immigrating into America each year. Over the next decade another 12 million non-whites will migrate into America...
  5. Blair and Merkel are of course the unwitting architects of Brexit – Blair for his decision to open the borders to Eastern European migration in 2004/5, which brought a couple of million low wage earners to compete for bottom-end UK jobs, and Merkel for her “let them all come” insanity of 2015 (ten years earlier she’d not allowed Poles in when they joined – only the UK and Ireland did).

Blair and Merkel boiled the frog too fast …and the frog noticed.

Unwitting, or deliberate? It's been known for a long time that immigrants vote Left.
  6. It looks like the “elite” of the West are acting like the shoplifter who wants to pay for the goods after he gets caught. Sure they threw Libya into chaos; pretended they had no navies to police the Med or military to police frontiers; turned an indulgent eye to Islamist massacres and rapes …. but they had no idea that bothered us. “Oh, I’m sorry, I’ll just enforce those laws now. Why didn’t you say something sooner?”.

  7. It’s deplorable that Hillary has succumbed to hate…or has belatedly seen sense. Course the Blair-Clinton ilk are just lying to the rubes as she let it known what the real problem is:

Europe must get a handle on immigration to combat a growing threat from rightwing populists… Hordes of invaders demanding welfare, healthcare and preferential treatment–no problem. But citizens demanding responsive government are neo-nazi, white nationalist, xenophobic, racist, haters who deserve to be silenced, hounded by vigilantes, blacklisted and fired, but other than that, they have a point.

  8. We came. We saw. He died. Hillary enjoys talking smack after she’s had a few belts – – – which is 24/7.

  12. O, wonderful, when devils tell the truth!

  13. Europe must get a handle on immigration to combat a growing threat from rightwing populists

Hillary’s equation is missing a very important variable, i.e., what is good for Zionists and Israel.

This new rightwing populists are anti-Muslim and pro-Israel unlike the old right wing populists who often were anti-Semitic.

  14. This is a pretty good case study of how the Cultural Marxist Left (or whatever you want to call them) operates. They can politicize anything. They can lie and deny and obfuscate any given fact and then, when it becomes undeniable, they can embrace it and endow it with the opposite sign. This needs to be taken seriously. By means such as this, the Globalists make bold to get out in front of the Populist Right’s signature issue and don’t think they can’t get away with it. That should give you some inkling of the sort of profound mind you’re dealing with.

Now don’t laugh, I don’t mean Hillary Clinton. I’m talking about the éminence grises who write her speeches and define her positions. Mrs. Clinton is the mouthpiece for one of the most vicious, unscrupulous, and ambitious cabals operating anywhere on the planet. They are proactive and very shrewd. They play to win. They will anticipate your next move and attempt to skewer it before you even get started. They have honed this ability over many thousands of political iterations, using the best minds, models, and media that money can buy.

In the end, the only thing that can truly stop these people is power. There is no idea that can do it, not a one. The whole realm of ideas is unfavorable ground for the Right, since there is nothing that the Left cannot lie about, co-opt, or twist to its own purposes. The strength of the Right consists in its heart, in its rootedness in faith and tradition, and in its reliance on the fact that in the eternal interplay of grace and works, the grace component is on its side. We can only fight on to the last extremity, to the very last drop of blood, and bid the assistance of unseen helpers at the darkest hour. Such is the path before us, and all who would tread it must accept that there can be no other way.

Tony Blair - for his first term at least - had a massive parliamentary majority and could do, essentially, anything he liked.

Other British governments with massive majorities pushed through great hallmark changes of policy and institution creation. For example Clement Attlee created the NHS and mass nationalisation of industry. Thatcher brought in swingeing free market policies and privatization of industry.

Blair, with his unchallengeable mandate, decided on massive, uncontrolled immigration as his signature institutional change of Britain.

  22. Clinton’s remarks are likely to prove controversial across Europe, which has struggled to form a unified position ever since more than 1 million migrants and refugees arrived in the EU in 2015.

Yes, it’s just the 1 million migrants from 2015 that is the problem. This is getting old. Those 1 million from 2015 are just a drop in the bucket to what has happened to Europe since WW2. From Turkish guest workers in Germany to the Caribbean islanders in the UK, this has been happening for 70 years. It’s not like we did not have Rotherham prior to 2015.

It’s similar to how the open border supporters in the USA conveniently ignore the 55-60 million immigrants allowed in since the change in 1965. The largest transnational migration in history, together with their progeny, is on the verge of completely flipping the demographic makeup of the third most populous nation on earth.

Yet they like to ignore the past and think that all those they have previously allowed should be able to remain in exchange for them cutting back a bit on future intake levels. That’s BS. Those migrants should be sent back as the Dalai Lama says.

PS. What gives on the Turkish guest workers, and any other guest workers in Western nations? People argue that these guest workers should be allowed to stay since they came in and helped to rebuild Germany. Or in the case of the USA, they come to pick our food crops.

First, they are guest workers which accurately describes the situation they are entering. They are offered a paycheck in exchange for temporarily moving to a job site that is not in their nation. So long as they get paid, they are getting what was promised.

Second, to suggest that guest workers must be allowed to remain permanently because they built something or picked something, is like suggesting that the crew who built your house should be allowed to move in. After all they built it, right? Of course we would think that ridiculous. But in effect that is what is being done with these workers who never go home.

But there was no mention of a year when white Americans would fall below half the population.

When asked about the change, a spokesman for the Bureau said: “It was just us getting back to sticking to data.”

Over the next decade another 12 million non-whites will migrate into America…

I just wish that someone would ask one our elites/elite politicians why they wish to change our demographics and culture, and do it if front of an audience, so that the reply or evasion can be seen by everyone. It's too late to say that isn't the intent, since everyone, including Bill Clinton, has publicly announced that the nation will change, and whites will be the minority. I'd like to know why, and by what right they are doing this. Why not just get to the point?

Fair question, but what would their truthful answer really do? We can already pretty much guess the answer.

These folks either a) don’t like white people, b) work for people who have a profound dislike for white people, or c) think black people (the world’s official victims) will be better off with white people getting stomped.

There is hardly any resistance, let alone a war. A good number of white Americans even support the immigration, but that might change if the obvious questions were asked. As it is, we get stuck with stupidity about "the right way to immigrate" or good v. bad immigrants, when we don't need any immigrants, or very, very few at most.

Clinton’s remarks are likely to prove controversial across Europe, which has struggled to form a unified position ever since more than 1 million migrants and refugees arrived in the EU in 2015.

Yes, it's just the 1 million migrants from 2015 that is the problem. This is getting old. Those 1 million from 2015 are just a drop in the bucket to what has happened to Europe since WW2. From Turkish guest workers in Germany to the Caribbean islanders in the UK, this has been happening for 70 years. It's not like we did not have Rotherham prior to 2015.

It's similar to how the open border supporters in the USA conveniently ignore the 55-60 million immigrants allowed in since the change in 1965. The largest transnational migration in history, together with their progeny, is on the verge of completely flipping the demographic makeup of the third most populous nation on earth.

Yet they like to ignore the past and think that all those they have previously allowed should be able to remain in exchange for them cutting back a bit on future intake levels. That's BS.

I live in the most affected country. I can assure you life has changed since 2015. Nothing you say will change that fact for me or most people living around me.
It was bad, but it took a decisive and very noticeable turn for the worse.

  33. This is vintage Hillary in a sense. She tries to present her approach as knowing and savvy, but manages to do so in a way that will further alienate her from her natural base, without particularly appealing to anyone outside that base.

Given the fact that Hillary has an at best rather generic “progressive-moderate”– depending on who’s interviewing her — vision of where the US (or in this case, Europe) is going or should go, one would assume that she would craft her responses in such a way as to enhance her own feeble political appeal.

And yet still she fails. The progressives will see this as a betrayal of their values in a craven attempt to placate the reactionaries; the reactionaries will see this as an admission of duplicity and a willingness to trim one’s political sails in order to advance the larger progressive agenda, and the moderates will simply yawn and move on.

  35. I’ve always thought that the globalists got ahead of themselves in 2015. Pre-2015 rates of immigration, fertility and race-mixing would have already resulted in a non-white Europe. There seems to be no reason for allowing a dramatic increase at that time.

  36. Europe must get a handle on immigration to combat a growing threat from rightwing populists

Not explained: why “rightwing populists” (who are being democratically elected) are a threat but millions of alien, low IQ economic dependents aren’t.

“not going to be able to continue to provide refuge and support”

The only way to avoid the need to provide ‘continuing support’ is to kick them out.

Approx 82m people live in DE — of those, approx 27m work and pay taxes — among working taxpayers, 12m either work directly or indirectly for the government — hence a country of 82m is kept afloat by what is estimated to be fewer than 15m taxpayers working in the private sector.

Wann wird das Ganze kippen? — How long before all that collapses?

  37. Dammit, who let that slip by? How are we supposed to keep YT oblivious when stuff like this is getting printed?

Frey is the Joe Biden of the demographics world. They’ll let a few of his gaffes slip by, out of vestigial respect for the elders of their profession.

  38. The bullet once fired cannot be called back.

Cat Ladies, and relatively unattractive women (which is most of them) welcome Rapefugees. “Rapefugees Welcome!” because they get a trade up in some swaggering goatherd who was recently a torturer-killer for ISIS. If you think most White women are about one step from the Manson Family groupies you are not far wrong. [Reportedly 25% of White women admit mental illness -- my guess is the real number is much higher.]

Meanwhile the Social Darwinists aka the Left cannot wait to stick it to YT. Of course lets tie a millstone around ordinary White dudes necks, if they were truly genetically awesome they’d do fine in Greater Africa/Arabia. [There is a non-trivial overlap of White women desperate to separate the Alpha from the Beta and wanting "let's you and him fight" ... to see who wins the Thunderdome contest and the Social Darwinism of the Left.]

The triumphalism of both the Social Darwinists (lets drown most Whites in a sea of Africans and North African/Middle East Muslims and see which superior specimens survive) and Cat Ladies and Non Whites is too strong — the desire to rub ordinary White dudes noses in it just cannot be overcome.

Already you are seeing: A. proposals stripping White men of the vote; B. demands for racial privileges to be expanded for non-Whites; C. General banning of European traditions such as Christmas, Easter, various festivals because Africans and Muslims don’t like it; D. demands that all the new European leaders be African or Muslims.

For now this is a “fringe” demand like Gay Marriage six years ago or trannies being the standard of womanhood three years ago. In other words, the future.

And there is the question of money. Already most European nations are flat dead broke even the Germans, paying for this massive non-White occupying army with gibs, gibs, and more gibs. Meanwhile not only are more and more relatives of people already occupying Europe coming for more gibs (and White women, and girls) but the success of the Million Muslim Merkel March means more and more will come on their own.

Soon there will be enough non-Whites in Europe to establish by force a Caliphate including most of France, large parts of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland, most of Germany, much of Italy, parts of Spain, the Netherlands, and Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. Why not? Surely there is some Muslim military officer with this dream in France. Or Britain. The White population will be enslaved of course, and the Western nations will collapse like the Romans in 476. Why wouldn’t this happen? If a Muslim officer looks around, is he fearful of the power and strength of Merkel, May, and Macron? A couple of cat ladies and a power bottom?

The question then is wither Russia? Eastern Europe? Will they fight uselessly against each other? [Highly likely.] Or combine to take out the Muslim Caliphate in Europe?

Western Europe is valuable real estate. England alone with its people (not Pakistanis or Africans mind you, but the English) create a lot of money. White male labor is something like 50X more valuable than African, and 35 times more valuable than Muslim labor. Someone will want to rake in all the riches and power that can be obtained by controlling that labor. Maybe it will be a Muslim officer making himself a bigger Caliph than Sulieman. Or maybe it will be Putin. What is clear is that the current arrangement is heading straight for violent struggle for either Muslim/African or European control of the Continent. There can be no solution now but war, and a war to the death that will make the fighting in Eastern Europe 1941-45 look like a picnic.

Unwitting in that triggering Brexit wasn't part of the plan. The demographic destruction was deliberate.

Merkel didn’t get to dominate German politics by being crazy and/or stupid.

So why did she do something so utterly insane as to let that million-man mob into Germany?

Did she really think that the short-term virtue signaling was more important than the long-term catastrophy of letting these hooligans in? Was she overcome by German guilt and saw this as a way to make Germany experience the suffering it deserves?

There was speculation on VDARE that she was bribed. Maybe by Soros? That seems far-fetched, but less far-fetched than anything else I can think of. Soros is an incredibly malevolent man who is using his billions to do as much evil as possible.

I don’t think Merkel is crazy, but unfortunately for Germany a substantial fraction of the population is so completely insane as to still favor massive third-world immigration.

And here in America, our leftists are becoming increasingly unhinged.

    This will not end well.

Economics. Glibohomos only know the price of everything, and the value of nothing, least of all culture.

Having spent time with some German hippies who spoke like lunatics, I can add that whatever Germans do they do well but to the extremes.

These freaks couldn't hold a normal conversation. They just blathered on about the energy in the room.

Meanwhile, their grandparents took nationalism to the mad extent of worshipping themselves as gods but their contemporaries seem desperate to extinguish themselves as fast as possible.

Nice people, generally, but even some of the best people, but they really need to chill.

From a UK perspective, it is common to link their relatively extreme weather to their relatively extreme soul. This goes mostly for the land-based lot and not the mercantile rationalists up North where the Anglo-Saxons came from.

The bullet once fired cannot be called back.

Cat Ladies, and relatively unattractive women (which is most of them) welcome Rapefugees. "Rapefugees Welcome!" because they get a trade up in some swaggering goatherd who was recently a torturer-killer for ISIS. If you think most White women are about one step from the Manson Family groupies you are not far wrong. [Reportedly 25% of White women admit mental illness -- my guess is the real number is much higher.]

Meanwhile the Social Darwinists aka the Left cannot wait to stick it to YT. Of course lets tie a millstone around ordinary White dudes necks, if they were truly genetically awesome they'd do fine in Greater Africa/Arabia. [There is a non-trivial overlap of White women desperate to separate the Alpha from the Beta and wanting "let's you and him fight" ... to see who wins the Thunderdome contest and the Social Darwinism of the Left.]

The triumphalism of both the Social Darwinists (lets drown most Whites in a sea of Africans and North African/Middle East Muslims and see which superior specimens survive) and Cat Ladies and Non Whites is too strong -- the desire to rub ordinary White dudes noses in it just cannot be overcome.

Already you are seeing: A. proposals stripping White men of the vote; B. demands for racial privileges to be expanded for non-Whites; C. General banning of European traditions such as Christmas, Easter, various festivals because Africans and Muslims don't like it; D. demands that all the new European leaders be African or Muslims.

For now this is a "fringe" demand like Gay Marriage six years ago or trannies being the standard of womanhood three years ago.

Why wouldn't this happen?

They don’t have armies and there is no way they can create them in Europe. If it gets nasty, the minority populations will suffer terrible defeats, and no I do not want that.

Several prominent Leftocrats have suddenly started making strange new anti-immigration noises, though always couched in what is supposed to be goodspeak. Here is John Kerry saying "Climate Change something something avoid African migration".

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/nov/16/john-kerry-europe-must-tackle-climate-change-or-face-migration-chaos

Steve and syonredux already posted the NYT's public announcement to be more hush-hush about the white genocide for now.

    So what's going on?

Probably Hillary and Kerry and the NYT Editor and other bigshot globalists and their donors/backers got together recently at Bilderberg or somewhere and decided that the new strategy is to pretend to be moderate about immigration for a few years so that their fingers don't get pried loose from the levers of power before their control becomes permanent.

Expect to see more of this in the coming weeks: "Who us? No, it couldn't be. After all, we're immigration moderates. We don't know how this mass invasion happened. At all. Probably something to do with Trump and right-wingers."

the new strategy is to pretend to be moderate about immigration for a few years

Agreed except I would replace “for a few years” with “until they win the presidency.”

Blair is correct. We cannot let these wingnut righties get away with their cynical ploy to enforce their own borders. If the left takes on border control as a core belief, we will really have stumped the right wing in their never ending quest for power!

  70. “. . .you leave a large space into which the populists can march.”

Populist means doing what is best for the majority of the population. We’ve got to limit immigration lest democracy breaks out. What it really means, particularly in the U.S., is that we’ve got to mollify the white populations of our countries until their votes are no longer enough to stop our victimization of them. That’s why Nancy Pelosi and all those other ancient whites and Jews keep hanging on to power in the Democratic Party, they’re scared spitless of a black or brown face being the symbol of a party that is already overtly racist toward whites. Even the dullest white will tumble to the holocaust then, that can’t be allowed while they still have majority voting power. Normally they would put another white female in Pelosi’s place, white females being the transitional figures between white an non-white rule, but things have gone too far for that now, they’ll probably put in a Hispanic male before having to go full Maxine Waters or Occasional-Cortex.
