The good news is that Google’s Boxed Warning from the Anti-Criticism League probably doesn’t much matter because if you type in “unz review” (instead of “what is the unz review”) you’ll get the, you know, Unz Review as the first choice and the ADL’s warning about the Unz Review having cooties as only the fifth choice. But still …

This is not to accuse Bing and DuckDuckGo of not wanting to do what Google is doing. Perhaps the difference is that Bing and DuckDuckGo are smaller and thus can’t afford the manpower to manipulate search results as much?

  1. Bing isn’t attempting to answer your question, it’s just the search results.

The website and its title are bad, but the excerpt quoted seems pretty truthful. Count your blessings?

Yeah, I didn't see what the big deal was until I looked at the title and source.

I guess the notable thing is that the ADL, like Wikipedia, is considered by Google to be a reliable source. The only other website I've seen used for results like this is Quora, I think.

It would be interesting to see a complete list of Google's reliable sources - I'm sure the sites were hand-picked.

I read the text and, yes, it seemed surprisingly fair. I read it three times before I noticed the screaming blue headline "Ron Unz: Controversial Writer and Funder of Anti-Israel Activists".

Perhaps they mean that the site pays its writers, some of whom disagree with the ADL on the subject of Israel.

If the ADL believes that its warnings will cause outrage and ultimately lead to censorship, I think they underestimate the value that Americans attach to the First Amendment.

Their warnings are also counter-productive, because they will encourage people who are biased against Israel to come and look at the site. Directing such people to sites that sometimes disagree with the ADL, but do not offer the standard anti-semitic nonsense that abounds on the internet, is probably not what the ADL intended to do.

Judaism’s great longterm advantage is that they’ve weaponized their exceptionalism, and anybody who resists gets added to their longterm kill-list.

This is possible only because of White Submissivism.

Without white gentile support, Jews never would have gotten Israel and Wars for Israel.

And for whites to support Jewish interests, their own identity must be suppressed, even vilified. People naturally want some kind of identity. We see this even among ordinary individuals. Why do so many people look up to celebs? They find their own identities as normal folks to be boring, dull, lame, square, and mediocre. So, by worshiping glamorous celebs, they pretend they are 'sharing' in the cooler personality. It's like what Imelda Marcos said when asked why she spends so much money on herself in a poor nation? As ridiculous as her answer was, she was addressing a certain truth. She said the poor people of Feelippines needed someone to look up to as a model. She would be the glamorous face of Philippines, and all poor Filo women could take part in the collective fantasy. Same with the cult of Evita Peron, that floozy.

When white identity is suppressed or vilified, whites need something to cling to as their Face, collective persona, meaning, and etc. And in the place of their own identity, globalists offered them 'Muh Israel' for white conservatives, 'Muh Homomania' for white liberals, and 'Muh Negro' for all the cucky-wucks who worship MLK and NBA.

This is is why Jewish Power hates the Alt Right. Alt Right is reconnectivist. It is trying to reconnect white minds to their white identity and soul. It is trying to reconnect the white tree to the white roots.
It is a kind of spinalism. A person's body must be connected via nervous system to the mind to function. Without such connection, a person live and act independently as a whole. The Current West is suffering from spinal injury, and the globalist quack pulled off the greatest medical malpractice of all time. It operated on the West and severed the nerves that connect the white mind with the white body. The white mind(the educated white elites) has been cut off from the white body and connected to the Body of Diversity instead. So, the white elites no longer feel a deep connection to the white masses, the body of the white race. As for the white body, it has been connected to the brains of Neocons so that so many White Evangelical types think that the main mission of the US and Christianity is to serve 'Muh Israel'.

The West needs a reconnectivist spinal operation that reattaches the white mind with the white body. If such is possible, a new white mind must arise to lead the masses. This is what happens in a revolution. When the ruling elites lose the Divine Right or Mandate of Heaven and have lost the connection to the people, the people need a new ruling elite. Jewish Globalists fear this, so they seek to flood the West with New People who will undermine electoral politics. It's the Diversity-Hacking of Elections.

The globalists got some chutzpah. They demean nationalism, national sovereignty, patriotism, and all such stuff. They call for end of national borders. They say open borders is great and any newcomer is a 'New European' or 'New American' even if illegal. Illegals are called 'undocumented immigrants' or 'dreamers'. So, they do everything possible to undermine nationalism and national autonomy... but they bitch about how evil Russia undermined American national sovereignty by 'interfering' in US elections. Evil Russia also bought some ads on facebook.
How surreal. Globalists denounce notion of national sovereignty and patriotic rule of law... BUT they are up in arms about a foreign nation got involved(however slightly) in national affairs.

Same with Brexit and the Russia Scare. But the argument contradicts itself. On the one hand, those who oppose Brexit insist that national borders and national sovereignty are things of the past BUT THEN they bitch that Russia or some other foreign entity interfered in British affairs. So, let me get this straight. True British national sovereignty is about doing everything possible to undermine national sovereignty, and if any foreign entity helps(even in the slightest manner) to shore up British national sovereignty, it has undermined national sovereignty.

It's like saying the purpose of good finances is to throw one's money to the winds. And if someone picks up the money and shoves it back into the man's pocket, the good samaritan has interfered with good finances.

Or, it's like someone standing on the edge saying, the 'meaning of my life is to jump off the cliff'. And if someone pulls him back from the edge, the narrative is 'you ruined my life!'

  4. I must concur with previous comments that it is surprisingly even-handed. It is indeed worrying.

I suspect the big difference is merely that Microsoft is doing a bunch of things and they aren’t being harassed, or interrogated as woke people would say, on their search engine because it is irrelevant. Google+Facebook have been blamed for unleashing evils and now the institutional division of the SJW’s get jobs finding ways to censor their opponents. The question is how effective this is in the long end and what sort of people will be effected. If this doesn’t pop up every time you search for a specific Unz article then it probably won’t make much difference for the reasons outlined by Steve.

The good thing is that Facebook and Google/Youtube suffer from the same problem that intelligence agencies do: big data overload. At best they can do these sort of superficial things. If they go to far they will be seen as being overly censorious. They have tended to hire SJW’s and not let them go overboard in way that can ruin the economic or image of these companies’ services. The only effective weapon so far has been demonitizing Youtube videos. In contrast having Jared Taylor’s video singled out as the first was a big PR scoop for him. The same with demonitizing somebody more centrist like Dave Rubin. The problem is that the censors have a really gray area of who deserves to be an unperson and to what extent. This leads to individuals overstepping which creates an PR reaction that then has to be taken back. Reminds me of Gary North’s law of bureaucracy:
“Some bureaucrat will inevitably enforce an official rule to the point of utter imbecility.”
For now though it is intellectual guerilla activities can and may proceed.

  18. Anon • Disclaimer says:

The biggest Israel supporters are also some of the worst leftists. The only solution to this censorship is for the right to go hard core anti-Israel. Jews act this way because they psychologically have that country in reserve (yes, the ADL lists itself as a supporter of a foreign country, so it should be forced to register as an agent of a foreign country).

The best way to do that is to adopt a one state solution for Israel where Palestinians get to vote in Israeli elections. The great part about this strategy: you can’t oppose it without opening yourself up to charges of racism and hypocrisy. Another benefit is that you’d get to seriously tar organizations like the ADL by associated guilt.

By the way, that listing has been there since at least a year before Trump ran. They got an early start.

Since when does a possible agent of a foreign government get to intimidate Americans into not receiving information critical of that government? How is this tolerated?

Why are so many Americans on the right so foolishly protective of Israel when so many of its biggest supporters hate them?

If a republican ran like Trump but more populist on economics and for a one state solution, I bet he’d still get the nomination.

I should have taken a screenshot, but I don’t think that’s always been the case. Before Trump ran, I recall that typing in “the unz review” brought up exactly that warning. I wonder if it was demoted after Plame tweeted that Unz article on Twitter. Might look bad to have the ADL disclaimer on a simple search of UNZ prompted by Giraldi’s screed against Jewish power in America.

If The Unz Review continues to get lots of page views (if the ADL warning isn't enough of a deterrent to casual browsers) then they will up the ante, and label this site a "hate site". Complete with lots of visual warnings and maybe even a default setting that takes the browser away from The Unz Review, unless one then actively clicks on The Unz Review.

When that isn't enough of a deterrent for Google/Deep State/Hive Minds/MSM, then hopefully they will be out of options, and give up.

In a way, Google is giving the game away.

Owned by Jew with huge operations in Israel. Zionist-owned, and it hires Zionists to serve as gatekeepers. But before Google and Youtube pulled stunts like this, most people didn't notice. Because the nature of the censorship is so ethno-monopolistic -- after all, Google isn't hiring BDS to monitor 'hate' -- , the mask is dropping.

It's Zioncentrism. If people become aware of this, they will see right through the charade. They'll realize that everything Google advises is based on Ziocentric interests and agenda.

Your results, while indicative of something, are reminiscent of newspaper hacks’ claiming there are X million Google hits for a certain phrase, implying there are that many distinct Web pages discussing that phrase.

The way you are presenting things here is not how search engines operate.

    https://www.adl.org/news/article/ron-unz-controversial-writer-and-funder-of-anti-israel-activists

It probably comes up as the first result to “What is the Unz Review” because it is the only thing on the web that attempts to answer that particular question. Searching for just “Unz Review” brings up the website first. To remedy the situation, Unz himself should have an article linked from the main page with the title “What is the Unz Review?” where he explains it himself.

One obvious area is that the image search returns basically Google image search. Still, you get the option of going there through a proxy.

The search engine itself is clearly different from Google, returning quite different lists. It is not as deep as Google but good enough in 98% of the cases.

  33. The phenomenon you observe is (I think) a type of metadata called “rich snippets.”

Basically, Google has provided a meta data standard that rewards websites whose content lends itself to answering a question, like “how do I …” “what is …” “when is …” etc.

By accident or design the ADL site content on thst page lent itself to being the # 1 result for that question.

Note I THINK thats what this is, but I may be wrong in analysis or terminology.

Also, this is not to say that Google does a lot of scummy thinga to deligitimize the movement of people who notice things.

    COMCAST MUST BE DESTROYED

The patriots in the American Empire must use the power of the empire to targetize and destroy the corporate propaganda apparatus. Google is using its search engine and its ownership of YouTube to censor and eliminate political speech. That must be countered using the political power of the American Empire.

John McCain’s horrible legislation — the Telecommunications Act of 1996 — must be destroyed. If American patriots want to have honest and substantive discussions of issues such as immigration policy and foreign policy, then they must break up the corporate media monopolies that stifle free speech.

Disney and Fox must be destroyed as well. If there ain’t gonna be no Fox then destroy that new creature Disney is cooking up.

White Core American Patriots must targetize and destroy the overly concentrated corporate media.

    https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6229325?hl=en

Google implies it’s part of the page your looking for (unz.com), but obviously that wasn’t true here:

Where does the answer summary come from?
The summary is a snippet extracted programmatically from what a visitor sees on your web page

How can I mark my page as a featured snippet?
You can’t. Google programmatically determines that a page contains a likely answer to the user’s question, and displays the result as a featured snippet.

  42. I would advise people to set their search engine to a default other than Google, for the following reason:

Search engines are probably the ultimate choke point of the internet. If it ain’t googleable, it don’t exist. There is at least a slightly fragmented market for hosting, DNS, etc., but search is somewhere on the spectrum between monopoly (Google) and oligopoly (Google, Bing, Baidu).

I think all of the search engines likely have SJW tendencies, some more, some less. Regardless, if they are locked in a struggle for dominance they are not going to indulge these impulses for fear of losing part of the market. Once they are a comfortably ensconced monopoly their true tendencies come out.

So do your part to ensure search engine fragmentation! For really obscure searches I find Google is slightly better but for everything else I set duckduckgo as my primary engine, and I actually use Bing quite frequently as well.

Also, search engines are one of the parts of the internet that are actually profitable, so if they get even a bit of support these alternative options can actually stand on their own.

Agree completely. The only time I feel compelled to use Goolag is when I'm searching for precise answers on coding questions; Goolag does indeed provide the most relevant answers, pretty much always on the first page. Anything else, Bing or DDG. Anything even remotely controversial, always in private/anonymous mode.

Judaism's great longterm advantage is that they've weaponized their exceptionalism, and anybody who resists gets added to their longterm kill-list. They never seem to get distracted from the burden of exacting revenge. As if nothing offers them more pleasure.

So, by worshiping glamorous celebs, they pretend they are ‘sharing’ in the cooler personality. It’s like what Imelda Marcos said when asked why she spends so much money on herself in a poor nation? As ridiculous as her answer was, she was addressing a certain truth. She said the poor people of Feelippines needed someone to look up to as a model. She would be the glamorous face of Philippines, and all poor Filo women could take part in the collective fantasy. Same with the cult of Evita Peron, that floozy.

When white identity is suppressed or vilified, whites need something to cling to as their Face, collective persona, meaning, and etc. And in the place of their own identity, globalists offered them ‘Muh Israel’ for white conservatives, ‘Muh Homomania’ for white liberals, and ‘Muh Negro’ for all the cucky-wucks who worship MLK and NBA.

This is is why Jewish Power hates the Alt Right. Alt Right is reconnectivist. It is trying to reconnect white minds to their white identity and soul. It is trying to reconnect the white tree to the white roots.
It is a kind of spinalism. A person’s body must be connected via nervous system to the mind to function. As for the white body, it has been connected to the brains of Neocons so that so many White Evangelical types think that the main mission of the US and Christianity is to serve ‘Muh Israel’.

It’s the Diversity-Hacking of Elections.

The globalists got some chutzpah. They demean nationalism, national sovereignty, patriotism, and all such stuff. They call for end of national borders. They say open borders is great and any newcomer is a ‘New European’ or ‘New American’ even if illegal. Illegals are called ‘undocumented immigrants’ or ‘dreamers’. So, they do everything possible to undermine nationalism and national autonomy… but they bitch about how evil Russia undermined American national sovereignty by ‘interfering’ in US elections. Evil Russia also bought some ads on facebook.
How surreal. Globalists denounce notion of national sovereignty and patriotic rule of law… BUT they are up in arms about a foreign nation got involved(however slightly) in national affairs.

It’s like saying the purpose of good finances is to throw one’s money to the winds. And if someone picks up the money and shoves it back into the man’s pocket, the good samaritan has interfered with good finances.

Or, it’s like someone standing on the edge saying, the ‘meaning of my life is to jump off the cliff’. And if someone pulls him back from the edge, the narrative is ‘you ruined my life!’

I wonder just how important the Evangelicals have been to Israeli domination of the US ? Would the corruption have been so deep absent the evangelicals ? (Real Q, I really don't know).
On a minor point: i question the utility of the constant use of "white" in this context ? Would even "goy" be better ? "Anglo/European ? Non-semetic" ? Tricky, I know....
    , @bomag

The West needs a reconnectivist spinal operation that reattaches the white mind with the white body.

European man's self confidence has always been fragile; thus the prone-ness to doomsday cults and Shaker type beliefs.

I recently came across some bulletins and pamphlets from the 1920s and 30s: lots of hand wringing over environmental concerns and treatment of native Americans. It all would have fit right in with today's SJW screeds; this at a time when, I presume, Jewish influence was low. Such self criticism can be helpful in finding better ways of organizing society, but it seems to have morphed into self destruction.

Jews can be scapegoated too much. If not them, the self-haters would find someone else to follow to the same end.

It's amazing how people continue to preach the same falsity in the face of the most obviously glaring problems with just about everything Google.

    1. It was Google's shitty browser design, full of incredible mistakes in ergonomics, that, thanks to the Google dominance and/or name recognition, forced other browsers to become also shitty. Chrome's customizations are nonexistent in comparison to what was possible in the old non-screwed-up Firefox.

    2. Gmail's interface and usability is infinitely worse than that of any dedicated non-web email client's.

    3. Google Maps suck in comparison to Yandex Maps. Yandex is a lot smaller, but when the two have the same coverage of the area/city, Yandex' quality and usability blows Google away.

    4. Google's versions of its own Android suck in comparison to numerous third party customizations. Google phones are perfectly mediocre at best, even hardware-wise.

    5. Google is almost certain to lose the race to the widely adopted autonomous cars.

    6. Google made zero valuable improvements to Youtube.

    7. Google Fiber has been pretty stale for a long time. Will probably be extinct soon.

    8. Google Translate sucks in comparison to numerous competitors. After many years, it still is having regular problems distinguishing feminine from masculine in Spanish.

    9. People here probably need not be reminded how unbelievably inept and pathetic Google blogging platform is/was. Unz single-handedly beat hundreds of clueless Google churls.

And on, and on, and on the list goes (DeepMind seems to be an exception right now but in time Google will no doubt find a way to screw up the startup it acquired). Google is the new Microsoft - a huge utterly sclerotic corporation trying to make the world to obey its rules. Because it's not truly competitive on a level playing field.

  57. Actually, here’s another amusing aspect of the rather “Israeli-centric” focus of the Google search results.

It’s certainly true that this webzine runs lots of articles criticizing Israel. But I’d guess that these certainly constitute less than 5% of the total across all articles, columns, and blog-posts, and quite possibly as little as 2%. Now, admittedly, given the nature of the American MSM, even if just 2% of your articles criticize Israel, that’s a horrific situation, since being anything less than 110% pro-Israel is utterly improper…as Sen. Rand Paul sadly discovered when he didn’t clap hard enough or long enough for Netanyahu.

Similarly, if you total up all the different individuals and organizations I’ve personally funded over the last decade and apportion them by percentage “anti-Israel” focus (e.g. let’s say The American Conservative was 15% “anti-Israel” and MondoWeiss is 100% “anti-Israel”), I doubt whether more than about 10% of my donation dollars would be classified as “anti-Israel.” But according to Mr. Google and his ADL friends, that’s the salient characteristic of my financial support…

I admit to hating John McCain because of his irresponsible war-mongering, his push for open borders mass immigration and his support for sovereignty-sapping trade deal scams.

I would say that John McCain cynically voted against the Telecommunications Act, while secretly supporting it, in an effort to seem like a reformer in his 2000 presidential campaign. McCain got massive positive corporate media coverage in the 2000 presidential primaries. Perhaps the corporate media wanted to wound eventual nominee George W Bush.

The fact remains that the corporate mass media in the USA is too concentrated and it has too much power.

  66. We must push for a rethink of the internet as a trust or utility. By the end of the Trump administration, Google (and related others) should have suffered grievously or been extinguished. I suspect that the whole point of Net Neutrality (and the reason corporate representatives in government have loudly defended it) is to trick people into thinking that, although Google has unjustifiable power and censors people at will, y’see, what had happened was, there was this “neutrality” something or other, and so there’s absolutely nothing to see here. In the mean time we must continue to try to avoid Google insofar as that is possible (and the fact that a private for-profit corporation cannot be completely avoided is by itself cause for legislative attention).

Actually, here's another amusing aspect of the rather "Israeli-centric" focus of the Google search results.

It's certainly true that this webzine runs lots of articles criticizing Israel. But I'd guess that these certainly constitute less than 5% of the total across all articles, columns, and blog-posts, and quite possibly as little as 2%. Now, admittedly, given the nature of the American MSM, even if just 2% of your articles criticize Israel, that's a horrific situation, since being anything less than 110% pro-Israel is utterly improper...as Sen. Rand Paul sadly discovered when he didn't clap hard enough or long enough for Netanyahu.

Similarly, if you total up all the different individuals and organizations I've personally funded over the last decade and apportion them by percentage "anti-Israel" focus (e.g. let's say The American Conservative was 15% "anti-Israel" and MondoWeiss is 100% "anti-Israel"), I doubt whether more than about 10% of my donation dollars would be classified as "anti-Israel." But according to Mr. Google and his ADL friends, that's the salient characteristic of my financial support...

Your possible Daddy issues notwithstanding, it’s really quite brilliant that the likes of you, Soros and Finkelstein manage to control the anti-Zionist narrative and parameters of the discussion, exactly as the “there’s a Jew in my sandwich” loons allege. Really, is there anything (((we))) can’t do? It’s so frikkin great to be a member of society’s overlords, sometimes I simply don’t know what to do with all this awesome Semitic power.

  68. Regarding Google “Damore Antics,” it didn’t end with Damore. Chateau Heartiste had a terrifying piece recently with the in-house aftermath to Damore’s departure. There were surveys sniffing out other Damores. You might be forgiven for thinking that the engineers at Google wanted to make sure they had all the facts. It becomes pretty clear soon into the excerpts that they have no capacity for self-doubt and are concerned only with the unironic unapologetic elimination of dissent.

  72. Dear Steve & Ron,

A Liberal friend on FB disagrees with Steve’s comments. This is what he says:

“The top comments seem to indicate that social justice warriors are being hired to find and censor or at least defame those that don’t agree with them. They also say that the reason bing and duckduckgo don’t do the same is because they don’t have the ‘manpower.’ That is not at all how these search engines function. Google is attempting to answer the query, which was the question ‘what is unz review.’ The algorithm in place attempts to answer this question by looking at the key words in the query and finding the site with the highest traffic that matches the key words and the other quantities that are associated with them. In this instance, ‘what is’ is the query, ‘unz’ and ‘review’ are the key words, and ‘Ron Unz’ is associated along with every article he’s written or appeared on his site as well as every critique of his work.”

Do you agree or disagree with his description? I have no clue, being an ignoramus about such matters.

    Sincerely,

    Andrew

What you're describing is a "Google bomb" -- messing with the algorithm by flooding the Wired with apparently-relevant joke results. Old news (this was a big thing for W and Santorum), now supposedly counteracted by tweaks and filters. And since then have come many public adjustments and deliberate pointings-up announced at press conferences.
As far as manpower, there is a whole industry in faking popular support or disapproval, which relies on overseas troll farms or college students. The reason the catalog of 4chan's /pol/ board has been reliably 3/4s full of threads in objective violation of its own rules since the campaign is thanks to David Brock's company, Correct The Record, renamed CREW, currently named ShareBlue. This company, contemptuously described by a friend of Brock's as a boiler room of "nerd virgins," is pretty much like if Corvinus and Duck were paid to flood every iSteve post, with friends working in shifts, all day every day. They gave up on persuasion during the campaign and now pursue simple disruption, for example, spamming the board with contentless one-line posts (a picture of sone celebrity and the writing prompt, What Do You Guys Think?) so that the finite capacity of the board has no room for older but more legitimate threads.
This is a real practice, it is is a threat to every online forum, and it is by no means that I have been able to discover proprietarily or originally or mostly "Russian."

Most tech products are not purely algorithmic. There is often a human override component, which comes from low-level employees, whose primary job is to sanity check results.

For example, using Google, the following search results do not autocomplete:

    - Kim Kardashian plastic surgery
    - Donald Trump bankruptcy
    - Hillary Clinton health

Considering these are widely discussed aspects of these celebrities, it is far-fetched to think an algorithm is not picking these topics up. The other explanation is that Google's engineers suck, which I doubt.

In these case of the Unz review, it is likely that is likely that websites branded as Alt-Right are down weighted relatively in a ranking system, which relatively up weights the ADL.

I use https://www.startpage.com as main search engine and it's pretty sane. Searching for "Unz review" brings these top hits:

    1. Ron Unz (Wikipedia; Google-like box on top of other search results)
    2. The Unz Review: An Alternative Media Selection
    3. Steve Sailer Blog Posts - The Unz Review
    4. Summary - - The Unz Review
    5. America's Jews Are Driving America's Wars, by ... - The Unz Review
    6. Ron Unz - Wikipedia
    7. The Unz Review (@UnzReview) | Twitter
    8. The Unz Review | Russia Insider News
    9. Ron Unz: Controversial Writer and Funder of Anti-israel Activists (ADL link)
    10. The Unz Review - Home | Facebook

Each search hit includes an option to open the link through an anonymizing proxy.

    Just stop using anything Google!

One obvious area is that the image search returns basically Google image search. Still, you get the option of going there through a proxy.

The search engine itself is clearly different from Google, returning quite different lists. It is not as deep as Google but good enough in 98% of the cases.

Very hard to find this. MSM has a lot of stories about a planned Google “town hall meeting” that was cancelled at the last minute due to fears of leaks, but no mention of these leaks which leaked earlier. Apparently there was no later attempt to retry the meeting.

I first commented on this (the ADL warning comes first on Google) several weeks ago, and I have a prediction:

If The Unz Review continues to get lots of page views (if the ADL warning isn't enough of a deterrent to casual browsers) then they will up the ante, and label this site a "hate site". Complete with lots of visual warnings and maybe even a default setting that takes the browser away from The Unz Review, unless one then actively clicks on The Unz Review.

When that isn't enough of a deterrent for Google/Deep State/Hive Minds/MSM, then hopefully they will be out of options, and give up.

It’s amazing how people continue to preach the same falsity in the face of the most obviously glaring problems with just about everything Google.

    1. It was Google’s shitty browser design, full of incredible mistakes in ergonomics, that, thanks to the Google dominance and/or name recognition, forced other browsers to become also shitty. Chrome’s customizations are nonexistent in comparison to what was possible in the old non-screwed-up Firefox.

    2. Gmail’s interface and usability is infinitely worse than that of any dedicated non-web email client’s.

    3. Google Maps suck in comparison to Yandex Maps. Yandex is a lot smaller, but when the two have the same coverage of the area/city, Yandex’ quality and usability blows Google away.

    4. Google’s versions of its own Android suck in comparison to numerous third party customizations.

Google is the new Microsoft – a huge utterly sclerotic corporation trying to make the world to obey its rules. Because it’s not truly competitive on a level playing field.

Very interesting. I don't think I've ever run that particular Google search, and have to agree that the excerpt from the ADL "denunciation" is reasonably accurate and even-handed.

Given that focus, just out of curiosity I ran a Google search on Phil Weiss's MondoWeiss webzine "What is MondoWeiss" and the top result was an article entitled "MondoWeiss is a hate site" from The Washington Post. So I really can't complain...

the excerpt from the ADL “denunciation” is reasonably accurate and even-handed.

I rather thought so myself—I’m surprised at how often, when you just read what they have to say, activist groups like the SPLC and ADL don’t actually explain why “racism”, “anti-Semitism”, et cetera are wrong—they just describe the factual views of “hate thinkers”, and act as if they’re self-evidently wrong.

This raises the question: Do the ADL, SPLC, AIPAC and other organizations that appeal to a commonly held belief in the superiority of Zionism and/or Black culture, and in doing so effectively establish a state religion that we used to call politically correct thinking but now simply the correct thoughts that are compatible with Ingsoc.

The First Amendment states that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." It does not use the phrase "separation of church and state."

It seems to me that so much that is going wrong with our country right now is due to a tacit acceptance of the religion Judaism, combined with laws such as prohibition of hate crimes and prohibition of the BSD movement.

I hereby reject Judaism and Zionism as the state religion of the United States of America as 1) unconstitutional and anti-American, 2) Zionist supremacist and 3) immoral.

I hereby reject Judaism and Zionism as the state religion of the United States of America as 1) unconstitutional and anti-American, 2) Zionist supremacist and 3) immoral.

There was a conscious effort among some deep state people to form a religious alliance based on Abrahamic tradition. This unites Christianity with LDS, Judaism and Islam. The theory was that most people never get past the Book of Genesis. They throw out the ten commandments and replace it with the Noahide pact. Holy people are holy because of their ancestry. They are saved by God no matter what they do, and those not so holy are likewise condemned regardless of how they behave. The proof is in the rainbow that God gave us after the flood. This is the basis for (name your preference) exceptionalism.

This alliance would have been the basis for the war between the (kings of the) West against the (kings of the) East. Eisenhower was so exited by world war II that he wanted to preside over the Battle of Armageddon.

Of course this violates the basis of both Islam and Christianity which accept converts regardless of ancestry and offer the possibility of salvation to all.

Interesting points. Esp like your view on the self contradictions of nationalism.
This quote is very thought provoking:
“As for the white body, it has been connected to the brains of Neocons so that so many White Evangelical types think that the main mission of the US and Christianity is to serve ‘Muh Israel’.”
I wonder just how important the Evangelicals have been to Israeli domination of the US ? Would the corruption have been so deep absent the evangelicals ? (Real Q, I really don’t know).
On a minor point: i question the utility of the constant use of “white” in this context ? Would even “goy” be better ? “Anglo/European ? Non-semetic” ? Tricky, I know….

I would advise people to set their search engine to a default other than Google, for the following reason:

Search engines are probably the ultimate choke point of the internet. If it ain't googleable, it don't exist.

For really obscure searches I find Google is slightly better but for everything else I set duckduckgo as my primary engine, and I actually use Bing quite frequently as well.

Agree completely. The only time I feel compelled to use Goolag is when I’m searching for precise answers on coding questions; Goolag does indeed provide the most relevant answers, pretty much always on the first page. Anything else, Bing or DDG. Anything even remotely controversial, always in private/anonymous mode.

Well, exactly like it except that the Stasi, KGB, and Gestapo were likely to torture or kill you when they thought you an enemy, whereas the SPLC will call you some mean names in public.

And destroy your career. Our Left is ‘soft totalitarian.’ Our Leftist monsters with power simply ruin careers.

And that leads me to encourage you to learn about the Stasi. It eventually backed away from almost all physical torture to practice psychological torture, featuring the destruction of careers and reputations. What the Western PC/Cultural Marxist Left does owes far, far more to the Stasi and the German Marxists than to the Soviet Union and the KGB.

‘Why didn’t Sailer just ask Google or Bing about the results from web searches?’. Because the answer would lead to a conclusion that search results aren’t insidious censorship of so-called alternative ideas but algorithms that are paid for. If it’s harder to get – perhaps like gold or porn, you’ll search “harder”.

As an example – RT’s popularity has increased over the past two years. Hardly paradoxical. Similarly, the ideas you are fed on a daily basis from your favorite authors are more palatable if they are taboo, or you believe the “Government” is trying to hide a website from you. Wonderful comedy, the best there is at the moment.

Keep posting on main stream media because you need to set the record straight to defeat the main stream media. Bring scissors and paper for search results.

European man’s self confidence has always been fragile; thus the prone-ness to doomsday cults and Shaker type beliefs.

I recently came across some bulletins and pamphlets from the 1920s and 30s: lots of hand wringing over environmental concerns and treatment of native Americans. It all would have fit right in with today’s SJW screeds; this at a time when, I presume, Jewish influence was low. Such self criticism can be helpful in finding better ways of organizing society, but it seems to have morphed into self destruction.

Jews can be scapegoated too much. If not them, the self-haters would find someone else to follow to the same end.

I am genuinely surprised at the relatively even-handed wording. That being said, the boys and girls busy censoring Youtube will no doubt get to it in due course.

I read the text and, yes, it seemed surprisingly fair. I read it three times before I noticed the screaming blue headline “Ron Unz: Controversial Writer and Funder of Anti-Israel Activists”.

I like what Unz and Google the WaPo and the NYT and the ADL and the Stevey Sailer are doing together. It’s not just these websites, people, organizations or news corporations – it’s the combined torrent of all of ‘em. It’s teamwork for America, it’s the front end the Government and it’s owners have. It’s the NSA, the CIA, the DOD and the FBI but it’s more than that too.

You may think these are different teams, different sides that are opposed to each other – but you’d be fooled if you did. They criticize each other in stately chambers on TV. They call each other fake news. They call each other racists or various sympathizers or potential anti-semites or hate groups, but that’s all in fun as long as you pay attention. You’ve got to pay attention because they tell you all you need to know.

If the ADL criticizes you, that could be the best marketing you’d ever get. You’d clarify things, criticize the criticism and you’d be well known, and variously scorned or appreciated. “Thank’s ADL” – says the semite who is variously accused of being an anti-semite who runs a website that is alleged to be anti-semitic or anti-Israel but exists to study anti-semites and all things perceived about Israel. More keystrokes children!

Nobody criticizes UR on TV. This is unpersonland.

If this exists as a playground to study antisemites, who cares? It is also what it purports to be.

  120. Type in, “What does, ‘Jews will not replace us’ mean?”

You will probably not find a scholarly explanation of the Jewish role in transforming immigration laws in Western countries.

One would think the origin of such a topical phrase would be easy to find online. Not a chance.

  121. With this technology brings the possibility that eventually it will be under somebody else’s control (hopefully ours) instead of the leftist bourgeois. I pray to god some sort of mega-event unfolds, something like a depression at the hands of a mismanaging elite, that will allow us to purge them and take back our country.

A hundred comments and nobody mentions Searx.me, the best meta-search engine? Try it:

    http://www.searx.me

They combine results from Bing, Yandex, Google, Yahoo and others. It's not as fast as Bing but they have the best interface.

And if you want to use Google for some reason use Startpage.com instead, it's a 3rd-party proxy that anonymizes your search requests.

Very nice, I’ll have to add that to my list of search indexes.
