From ESPN:

School superintendent critical of Deshaun Watson, black QBs resigns
3:09 PM PT

HOUSTON — A white Texas school superintendent who posted online that “You can’t count on a black quarterback,” in reference to Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson, has resigned.

Deshaun Watson said he’s dealt with racism before, so he’s “not worried” about comments made about him on Facebook by a school district superintendent.

In a letter Saturday to the Onalaska Independent School District board, Lynn Redden said his comment posted earlier in the week on the Houston Chronicle’s Facebook page was “wrong and inappropriate.”…

Redden had criticized Watson for letting the clock run down before completing a pass in a 20-17 loss to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Redden’s comment prompted the school board to convene a special meeting Saturday.

And here’s the article immediately below that one on ESPN:

Baltimore hosts parade for Ray Lewis, gives him key to city

Ray Lewis connects with fans during a parade in Baltimore that celebrated his Hall of Fame induction.

Grassley is playing his cards right. The longer this farce continues, the more ridiculous the Democrats look and the more that Republican voters are reminded of how crucial the November elections are, and Republicans will be able to tell women voters they bent over backwards to let Ford tell her story. And, oh yeah, he needs to do everything he can to ensure that Collins, Snowe, and Flake vote for Kavanaugh

Ford isn’t likely to come up with anything in the next five days that’s going to convince voters that Kavanaugh is guilty.

I can’t even remember just what it was that was supposed to be so awful about Clarence Thomas? Was it that he watched porn? There was something about a pubic hair, I recall, but I forget the context. What kind of frail flower is/was Anita Hill? I recall she was supposed to be very religious. I just googled her, chose an article, and learned she has a steady (I presume it’s a male), that she’s been going with him for 10 years but she chooses not to marry. Instead, they maintain separate residence across town from one another. So, I guess those fundy Christian values she had have morphed a bit . Would she be mortified today if Clarence Thomas spoke of a pubic hair?

Agree wholeheartedly. In a similar vein, in spite of calls for their removal, I think it’s fine for the Democrats, Maxine Waters and Nancy Pelosi are the face of the Democrat Party. Taken further, Democrat Feminist women aborting their spawn to the tune of 80 million the past 45 years, double-plus good. The Alphabet Soup of Sexual Depravity that rears its perverted head every week, all that accrues to Democrats. The general PC din from the media, it all sticks in people’s minds.

Feinstein is gonna have trouble with the Judiciary Committee before it’s over with. She’s leaving anyway, IIRC. Still, this seems a major misuse of her authority given the whole-cloth this was cut from and concealed by Feinstein for the past two months, knowing she had this and not questioning him about it back say in, AUGUST? There’s lots of time, give them their head. Allow them to convince the needed Republican women needed to confirm Kav that all this is bullshit and give them cover for a yes vote. The catties of Feminism Inc. are all over the female Republicans to vote no against rape by voting no on Kav. Anything to delay things. I remain convinced this harpie psycho feminist “Doctor” of Psych, victim of Kav is a Molly No-Show. She is out of her element. When the bright lights are focused on her, she’s going to pack up her lies and go home. In any case, Republicans had BETTER show up. Republicans should know their power at the polls now. Just show up and these freaks can be kept at bay for another term. All they have to do is show UP..

Why are the Democrats so desperate on this one? Because it’s the end of the Warren Court. Because by all means, we need to add another freak like Kagan and Sotomeyer to the Supreme Court. It needs to go through with Kav.

One of the oddest episodes I remember was an occasion in which Thomas was drinking a Coke in his office. He got up from the table at which we were working, went over to his desk to get the Coke, looked at the can and asked, “Who has pubic hair on my Coke?” — Anita Hill

Here are 6 pieces of evidence that Anita Hill was lying in her testimony.

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/5185/6-pieces-evidence-anita-hill-was-lying-amanda-prestigiacomo

By my count, 3 of the 6 apply to the accusations against Kavanuagh.

Disagree they’re allowing the Senate to be played. They should not have set deadlines if they weren’t going to adhere to them.

This is Flake’s doing anyway. He keeps on insisting “she be heard” and says he won’t bite Kavanaugh out of committee if there’s no hearing. He’s getting pummeled on social media by conservatives so he denies it but that’s the word around Capitol Hill.

The WH has just released a statement pointing out how every person named by Ford as being present at this party has denied being there to the Senate. So pressure is back on Grassley to wrap this up.

Uh… That’s about 90% of ALL NFL QB’s who are drafted.

What color is Joey Harrington, Tim Couch, Ryan Leaf, Todd Marinovich, Health Shuler, etc., etc., etc.? The failure rate of White Guy QB’s drafted in the first round is huge.

There is racial bias in player recruitment and selection suffused throughout all big time sports on both sides of the fence. The one fact is that limiting the universe of specific candidates because of generalized bias is almost always negative. In other words, it never hurts to at least window shop everywhere

My younger brother, a very apolitical young man, has said to me if the Kavanaugh circus drags on much longer he will register and vote (straight R) for the first time.

An anecdote, but I think Democrats have really pissed off the Least Important People in the World, young white men, in their fury at the eminently qualified and obviously innocent Kavanaugh.

  28. @e

Clarence Thomas’s big sin in Anita Hill’s eyes was that in 1983, he chose Alyson Duncan as his Chief of Staff at EEOC, not Hill.

The only witness to testify before Congress that Hill had been harassed by her boss at the Dept. of Ed. was Workers Comp. Judge Susan Hoerchner. Hoerchner, however, was so stupid that she insisted that Hill had phoned her repeatedly in the summer of 1981 with complaints about someone at the Dept. of Ed.

    OK.

But Clarence Thomas was NOT Hill’s boss then, and would not be her boss until the fall of 1981, AFTER Hoerchner and Hill were no longer in phone contact with each other!

When the contradiction was pointed out to Hoerchner (by future Democratic Deep State Star, Janet Napolitano), Hoerchner suddenly developed amnesia, and could no longer remember just when Hill had told her of the harassment!

That Susan Hoerchner lied to prop up a false allegation against Thomas is a certainty, and should be remembered.

In the CA open Senate race a year later, the “October surprise” deployed by overdog Barbara Boxer was the scandal that her GOP opponent had… been seen entering an ‘adult book store.’ Even considering pre-Internet mores I had my doubts this was all that damaging to voters; but the guy was pro-life so the media flayed him for it anyway. No such candidate could win statewide election in CA, therefore the mud-dragging inhibitions are thrown out the window

The big deal with Thursday is there’s a cut-off for Kavanaugh to join the Court in time for its next session (of course I hope I’m wrong about that, but it explains why Wednesday is “arbitrary” and Thursday is not).

Yes, but it is also true that the big knock on black QBs is their low completion percentage. They usually make up for it with the ability to run with the ball. That is usually where their career longevity suffers. They get effectively corralled by good defensive game plans or are so busted up that they can’t run.

Even John Elway had a pretty good set of wheels when he came into the NFL. His ability to run during his first Superbowl and his last was night and day.

Probably the only black QB that was known more for passing was Warren Moon and due to the bias and failure of previous black QBs had to prove himself in the CFL before he became a star in the NFL.
