Last week, 24-year-old Elise Clougherty, a Stanford neuro-engineering graduate and former Ford print model, filed a lawsuit against Joseph Lonsdale, a powerful Silicon Valley entrepreneur who, along with Peter Thiel, co-founded the secretive data-mining company Palantir Technologies. The graphic suit alleges that from February 2012 to February 2013, Lonsdale took advantage of his position as Clougherty’s mentor in a Stanford mentorship program to physically, emotionally, and sexually abuse her.
The article then recounts the ex-model’s self-evidently implausible account of being raped in hotels in London and Rome and for months and months back home in Silicon Valley.

I know both Ellie and Joe personally. I can tell you, unequivocally, that this entire charade is bs and is Ellie’s revenge on Joe when he dumped her two years ago. She didn’t get her dream wedding and house and kids and rich life she wanted. Joe left her and she got pissed. So she’s revenge suing him for the divorce settlement she never got to have.

My oldest son has lighter brown hair, blue-gray-amber eyes, and is taller than that guy. He is also younger than that fighter and is somewhat less muscular (though my son is pretty muscular, having trained in Judo since age 3, he is not quite *that* cut). Other than that, similar looking.
Tragic, eh? I feel very bad for my son. Extremely attractive teenage girls are swarming over him frequently (his current girlfriend is a very beautiful and sweet blonde gal, from a nice family too). And my children have been already asked to model (which, knowing the industry somewhat, their mother and I decided not to pursue).
Who knows, maybe he paid her to make these graphic allegations knowing it would make him the most desired man in California or even in the nation. He’s probably getting sackfuls of mail right now from lovesick women around the world.
I think this is good for me. Why? Because I’m tired of 2 year men…men who blatantly string women along for 2 years and then suddenly disappear. Steve has actually talked about this wrt to slut-shaming. Everyone (with the exception of high status cads) benefits from a social restriction on the sexual arms race. Society, which relies on families creating communities, *only* functions if there is a social restriction on the sexual arms race. This guy is playing by the current rules, that he didn't make, and so doesn't deserve to have his life ruined, but this kind of crap is why we somehow some way have to end the sexual revolution experiment.

We live in an age in which there is very little pressure to marry, so if you are a guy, you can bounce from one two year relationship to the next to the next. Why marry? Obviously if you're a woman, fertility places a pretty hard time limit on how long you can waste your life, but women in their 20's seem to mostly be oblivious to this.
The 2 year relationship ends when women end it.

It’s just a testament to how confused girls are today. Talk about AWOL mothers. Reading, e.g., Mencken’s In Defense of Women will give one a good idea how far we’ve fallen. My philosophy on the topic is simple: there is one and only one, very specific, circumstance under which you should consider a white woman as a target of romantic interest. That is if you are looking for a mating partner to produce a male progeny. Aside from that one single case, a white woman is the wrong answer, every time. For medium/long term dating it’s Asian all the way. Anyways, her account is entirely plausible if you interpret “rape” the way universities do: i.e., sex without affirmative, enthusiastic, documented and ongoing consent. The amount that mattress girl was raped (once) is nothing compared with the suffering of this poor girl (who is admittedly much hotter). Ms. Clougherty was raped repeatedly over a period of almost two years. She was raped in deluxe hotels in Rome, NY, California, etc. Sometimes this monster would rape her up to 10 times a day. She was so traumatized that she did not even think of it as rape at the time, falsely believing that they were having hot, consensual sex (which she felt very guilty about afterward due to her Catholic upbringing). It was only after their breakup and extensive therapy that she realized that she had been raped hundreds of times by that monster.

The article says that she was a model for Target and Kohl’s, not a fashion model. The usual connotation when a woman is described as a “model” is high end fashion modeling, not appearing in department store or big box store ads that come with the morning newspaper.

This is ridiculous. Ultra rich people don’t rape grown women. They either pay them in various ways for services rendered, or just seduce them. Some rich people do molest kids, but who knows how few. This broad’s story is ludicrous at the outset.
From the article it sounds like the mother is behind all this. Without the mother, the girl probably wouldn’t have made this such a public issue.
The father is an anesthesiologist, which is one of the highest paying specializations for doctors. She went into business and pushed her daughter into modeling. She also flew across the country to be with her daughter at college when she was having some trouble.

I absolutely agree. But as someone said, in every age, the sexes deserves each other. Fewer men would do that if more women were up front about what they want out of the relationship. "The right one" is a largely silly piece of rationalization for modern sexual misbehavior. It is also a result of the fact that sexual attractiveness is not congruous with the characteristics of a good mate. This is why parents (in societies that actually work) have *always* been heavily involved in choosing the parents of their grandchildren.

Either the Spearhead or AVFM had this historical series about various adventuresses in the past. There was quite a common thing of women setting men up, usually some beta sort of man with money. In the modern Latin jurisdictions like Chile, any person in a position of authority or seniority over the girl may be charged, like a boss at work, some older male with whom the mother may be having an affair, a teacher, etc.
But the historical intent of the law which is still respected in most jurisdictions is the idea of “Fraud”. Fathers got this written into the law where if a man promises to marry a girl and then if she has sex with him, and then he dumps her, and she is older than 14 and younger than 18, then he may be charged with Astupro.

This woman should not receive any kind of legal settlement based on existing law, but I wonder what would be the effect if we made common law marriage more legally binding. Say more than six consecutive months of sexual intercourse and cohabitation at least 50% of nights between to unmarried people. After this, a break-up would require a settlement. Of course divorce would have to require cause (with a substantial burden of proof) so the woman could just walk away with a check. This sounds like it would favor gold-diggers, but perhaps men would be a lot more careful, marriage would occur earlier, more people could find spouses earlier, white people would have babies, dogs and cats would be friends. I don’t get it. If someone drives drunk, they are legally responsible for their behaviors and the consequences of those behaviors. However, if a woman “parties” drunk, she bears no responsibility for her behaviors and the consequences of those behaviors. It falls on others (always males it seems) to intervene and protector her from herself. If they don’t, they suffer criminal liability. If this is because her judgment is impair during her drunken orgy and she cannot legally consent to sex (no matter how much she pleaded for it), then if would follow that the drunken males who allegedly raped her also had impaired judgment and should also not be held legally liable for whatever happened.

I think there is something to the 2 year limit, but I don’t think it’s what you are saying it is. During my 20′s I saw a lot of 2 year relationships, hell, I was in one. But they seemed to exist because that seems to be the natural time limit of infatuation or romantic love. When there is no societal reason to stay together, the relationship ends (although probably not without heartbreak and throwing things) and both people move on. It’s not some insidious plot by men to trick women with implied hints of marriage. Most of the time, it was the woman who broke things off.
We live in an age in which there is very little pressure to marry, so if you are a guy, you can bounce from one two year relationship to the next to the next. Why marry?
