From New York Magazine last week:

Horrible Things

The Sickening Rape Allegations Against a Silicon Valley Mogul
By Jessica Roy

February 3, 2015

Last week, 24-year-old Elise Clougherty, a Stanford neuro-engineering graduate and former Ford print model, filed a lawsuit against Joseph Lonsdale, a powerful Silicon Valley entrepreneur who, along with Peter Thiel, co-founded the secretive data-mining company Palantir Technologies. The graphic suit alleges that from February 2012 to February 2013, Lonsdale took advantage of his position as Clougherty’s mentor in a Stanford mentorship program to physically, emotionally, and sexually abuse her.

The article then recounts the ex-model’s self-evidently implausible account of being raped in hotels in London and Rome and for months and months back home in Silicon Valley.

From the Comments on the New York Magazine article:

California2009 8 days ago

I know both Ellie and Joe personally. I can tell you, unequivocally, that this entire charade is bs and is Ellie’s revenge on Joe when he dumped her two years ago. She didn’t get her dream wedding and house and kids and rich life she wanted. Joe left her and she got pissed. So she’s revenge suing him for the divorce settlement she never got to have.

Ellie is mentally ill and so is her mother. The girl needs serious psych meds. Joe treated her like a queen. They were in love. Everyone around them saw it.

Joe is a powerful guy but a sweet and kind person too. He’s family oriented and hard working. Ellie is a cowardly b**ch just out to get her 15 min of fame and her big pay out. Gold digger anyone?

I hope for joes sake that this nightmare ends. He deserves better. He’s built companies and employed hundreds of people. Such a shame that Ellie will stop at nothing to hurt his reputation.

Again, unequivocally, joe is not guilty of ANYTHING being alleged here. Ellie is a monster. Horrible things is right.

Here’s Lonsdale’s website he put up last month defending himself with quotations from the former couple’s extensive electronic correspondence.

Oh, and here’s something that might add a little perspective on What Women Want that’s not found in Title IX “Dear Colleague” letters:

  1. To smart guys out there: find a foreign wife with decent looks (Eastern European or Asian, preferably) and intelligence and marry her as soon as you can. It’s a frightening world out there. Normal heterosexuality can retroactively be called rape. Protect yourself, and start a family in the mean time.

Asians are big time gold diggers, and as Jared Taylor points out, do you really want your grand kids to look like Fu Man Chu? As for Russian women, they are psychotic. Best to mine for a bride among the girls you knew and respected before you got rich.

I fall into the elite credentials but poor category, and I do great with intelligent and good looking Asian girls. I don't see the gold diggers, though that may be true for lower IQ ones.

Asians are big time gold diggers, and as Jared Taylor points out, do you really want your grand kids to look like Fu Man Chu?

This is what Jared Taylor said: "For my own family, as I once put it, I want my children to look like their grandparents, not like Anwar Sadat or Whoopi Goldberg or Fu Manchu."

Let's see, among the three unattractive people listed, who's real and who's fictional?

I am certain a man as intelligent as Taylor knows that "Fu Manchu" is a fictional Asian villain played by a white actor. Let's look at Fu Manchu, shall we? http://filmynajgorsze.blox.pl/resource/castle_of_fu_manchu_2.jpg

Now, let's look at a real life Hollywood character, Russell Wong, who is half-white and half-Asian:
    http://www.celebs101.com/gallery/Russell_Wong/212830/Russell_Wong_5.jpg

Yes, they look exactly the same. What a shame it would be to have a son who looks like Russell Wong.

You know, my wife (Midwestern white) and I (East Asian) have been known to have given birth to some mixed children. My oldest boy looks very similar to this guy: https://usatmmajunkie.files.wordpress.com/2014/08/alan-jouban-ufc-fight-night-47.jpg?w=640&h=420&crop=1

My oldest son has lighter brown hair, blue-gray-amber eyes, and is taller than that guy. He is also younger than that fighter and is somewhat less muscular (though my son is pretty muscular, having trained in Judo since age 3, he is not quite *that* cut). Other than that, similar looking.

Tragic, eh? I feel very bad for my son. Extremely attractive teenage girls are swarming over him frequently (his current girlfriend is a very beautiful and sweet blonde gal, from a nice family too). And my children have been already asked to model (which, knowing the industry somewhat, their mother and I decided not to pursue).

  7. I think this is good for me. Why? Because I’m tired of 2 year men…men who blatantly string women along for 2 years and then suddenly disappear. I’ve never dated one, thank goodness…but I have watched as men like this have really done a number on girls. A man cannot take a girl all around the world, pose with perfect body language with her in Rome, yadda yadda and not expect SOME consequences when he decides to call it off.

There was a time when men were discouraged from acting like this.

She was 21. They look like a perfect match. Sorry, but if he wasn’t 100% sure he wanted to marry her he shouldn’t have whisked her away on exotic locations.

This is why I respect Roosh. A girl would have to be an idiot to believe he’d actually marry her. But at least you know what you are getting up front. The 2 year men I know Really Made the Girl/s feel as though Marriage Was Going To Happen.

    That is fucked up.

When is a girl supposed to know the difference between leading up to marriage and a 2 year man?

Now you all know why abstinence in relationships…for both men and women…is important. You all either play by the rules or enter this crazy world.

In my opinion, the guy deserves the trouble. If he wasn’t going to marry her, she should total up all the times they had sex and get a cash amount. The end.

    , @Jewish Conservative Race Realist
You believe that she's lying, but you're still ok with this? (This is why women shouldn't vote or have any official capacities.)

And did you just assert that all women should be paid for sex? Except with the classier ones you run up a tab and pay at the end?
    , @Anonymous

In my opinion, the guy deserves the trouble. If he wasn’t going to marry her, she should total up all the times they had sex and get a cash amount. The end.

Why? You're saying women don't enjoy sex? They like it and she had a good time just like he did with the difference being that he shelled out the money for it all, taking her places she wouldn't have been able to go to otherwise. Was she a virgin when she met him? If not then the cake was already cut so it's not some great psychological milestone that she passed. She's young, she has plenty of time to find Mr. Right, it's just that the prospect of becoming Mrs. Billionaire has been yanked away. There's always Joe the Plumber or a respectable accountant out there somewhere, perfectly good choices.
    , @Sparkling Wiggle
This is spot on. If someone take you on lavish trips all over the world, but then doesn't spend the rest of his life with you and sign over half his property to you, you should DEFINITELY be allowed to have him locked up for rape. You go, girl!
    , @Wilkey
"A man cannot take a girl all around the world, pose with perfect body language with her in Rome, yadda yadda and not expect SOME consequences when he decides to call it off. There was a time when men were discouraged from acting like this."

Yes, that was when men and women waited until their wedding night to copulate. Nowadays waiting until the third date is considered positively prudish.

Look: single women WANT those expensive trips to Hawai'i, Europe, and Cozumel. Hell, half of them will dump you if you don't take them on those trips. Tightening the belt to save money is for after the wedding, assuming that ever comes.

You think these girls are getting used? Maybe - but they're letting themselves get used.
    , @Pat Casey
I absolutely agree. But as someone said, in every age, the sexes deserves each other. Fewer men would do that if more women were up front about what they want out of the relationship. I didn't even think about leading a girl on after she said early on that she was looking for a husband. Maybe other guys would have, but I'm not even old-fashioned. That would be one easy way to mitigate "entering this crazy world."

And a lot of those men are acting in all innocence when they lead a girl on for two years. Someone else comes along that makes him realize she's not the right one. Or it takes two years for it to dawn on him that the honeymoon is over before it began.

Of course, the main reason they don't say that when they should is because they know the end will likely ensue, and they'd rather entertain the fantasy while they're living it than dash it.

I can sympathize with that, as I've often thought what a fantasy it must be to date me.
    , @josh
This commenter is basically right. This man wasted two years of this woman's prime. Its not *that* surprising that she went bananas. What she is doing is evil, and most women certainly don't react in such an evil way, but its not surprising that women from the crazy/evil end of the bell curve react in such an evil way. The sad thing is that there really are perfectly nice women getting screwed over like this.

Steve has actually talked about this wrt to slut-shaming. Everyone (with the exception of high status cads) benefits from a social restriction on the sexual arms race. Society, which relies on families creating communities, *only* functions if there is a social restriction on the sexual arms race. This guy is playing by the current rules, that he didn't make, and so doesn't deserve to have his life ruined, but this kind of crap is why we somehow some way have to end the sexual revolution experiment.

Minus the cost of hotel rooms, parties etc.
    , @Mike Street Station

Because I’m tired of 2 year men…men who blatantly string women along for 2 years and then suddenly disappear.

I think there is something to the 2 year limit, but I don't think it's what you are saying it is. During my 20's I saw a lot of 2 year relationships, hell, I was in one. But they seemed to exist because that seems to be the natural time limit of infatuation or romantic love. When there is no societal reason to stay together, the relationship ends (although probably not without heartbreak and throwing things) and both people move on. It's not some insidious plot by men to trick women with implied hints of marriage. Most of the time, it was the woman who broke things off.

We live in an age in which there is very little pressure to marry, so if you are a guy, you can bounce from one two year relationship to the next to the next. Why marry? Obviously if you're a woman, fertility places a pretty hard time limit on how long you can waste your life, but women in their 20's seem to mostly be oblivious to this.

The 2 year relationship ends when women end it.
    , @Hibernian

"Asians" here is not very accurate. There are big differences in the behavior of mainland Chinese, Japanese, Koreans, Thai, Etc

If you find Japanese or Koreans who are not poor, you are probably safe. Low- and mid-income East Asian women want to get married so they can stop working. Low- and mid-income SE Asians want to get married to escape their lives. Chinese seem to have post-communist social disorders similar to Russians.

One strategy is to look for East European girls who are devoutly religious--a small number of course.

Ellison channelling Phil Hartman channelling Sinatra: “Your keys are on the dresser, babe, I’m done with you!”

I just wonder if attached to the auto title is a confidentiality agreement and a testimonial that all sex has been consensual.

I am a bit surprised that his fellow masters of the universe did fill in young Lonsdale on how these things are handled in Silicon Valley.

He turned her into a prostitute.

He should have made it clear from the beginning as the other commentator pointed out…your keys to your new car are on the table.

Look at the photo in the other post. They look pretty damn tight. She thinks he’s going to marry her. If I saw that photo I would say “Oh how cute…I can’t wait for the wedding!”

You have to prove intent on his part. Was his intention to marry her and then he met her mom and said “oh fuck run!” Or was he ALwAYs playing the Roissy game?

If he was always just following the Roissy playbook then yeah…he should be held accountable on some financial level.

Yes, that was when men and women waited until their wedding night to copulate. Nowadays waiting until the third date is considered positively prudish.

Look: single women WANT those expensive trips to Hawai’i, Europe, and Cozumel. Hell, half of them will dump you if you don’t take them on those trips. Tightening the belt to save money is for after the wedding, assuming that ever comes.

You think these girls are getting used? Maybe – but they’re letting themselves get used.

Sort of. Women want to be the sexual partner of the kind of guy that everyone knows can provide these things. Not that the trip isn't enjoyable in iteself (just as many have pointed out that, sure, sex feels good to women too), but for women, that isn't *the point*.

This is spot on. If someone take you on lavish trips all over the world, but then doesn't spend the rest of his life with you and sign over half his property to you, you should DEFINITELY be allowed to have him locked up for rape. You go, girl!

The amount that mattress girl was raped (once) is nothing compared with the suffering of this poor girl (who is admittedly much hotter). Ms. Clougherty was raped repeatedly over a period of almost two years. She was raped in deluxe hotels in Rome, NY, California, etc. Sometimes this monster would rape her up to 10 times a day. She was so traumatized that she did not even think of it as rape at the time, falsely believing that they were having hot, consensual sex (which she felt very guilty about afterward due to her Catholic upbringing). It was only after their breakup and extensive therapy that she realized that she had been raped hundreds of times by that monster.

It’s especially true I think in the rarefied air of the Elite, Elite sphere. Probably few people are as prepared to deal with the realities of life than White girls at Stanford or Yale or Harvard. Thank God there are so few of of them at such places.

  25. Obvious lesson here: stay away from white women. If they’re not fat, or stupid, or masculine, then they’re crazy. Maybe 1 out of 100 is affected by neither a physical or mental deficiency. I don’t blame the gene pool, or the women themselves, really. The institutional brainwashing is particularly effective due to women’s inherent desire for conformity, and Western whites are relentlessly brainwashed from birth. As a result, it is a rare (educated/middle class+)white woman indeed who is not contaminated by the evils of feminism or racial self hatred. I’m sure you could find some, and if Asian women didn’t exist you may even have little choice but to go searching for the needle in a haystack. But Asian women do exist, and so the juice is not worth the squeeze.

My philosophy on the topic is simple: there is one and only one, very specific, circumstance under which you should consider a white woman as a target of romantic interest. That is if you are looking for a mating partner to produce a male progeny. Aside from that one single case, a white woman is the wrong answer, every time. For medium/long term dating it’s Asian all the way. For spontaneous sexual release, anyone with a vagina and the appropriate waist/hip ratio will do, so long as she’s not white (and thus liable to cry rape due to a stochastic process).

Anyways, her account is entirely plausible if you interpret “rape” the way universities do: i.e., sex without affirmative, enthusiastic, documented and ongoing consent. When you indoctrinate undergrads to believe that they’ve been raped if persuaded to have sex despite misgivings, this is what you get.

  42. Look it’s not rape. That is all what really matters as to whether this is a national news story.

Still there is huge difference between a 29 year old “master of the universe” billionaire and a 21 year old college student still finding her way that one was initially suppose to be “mentoring”.

I was joking about 4 times divorced Larry Ellison giving luxury cars to every 30-40 year old ex college cheerleader turn Oracle sales rep he takes sailing then beds as if they were pillow mints. Those women I am certain are well aware of Ellison’s reputation, if not there is always Google. In any case they should be able handle it. And no I don’t think the “gratuity” constitutes prostitution.

Yet, telling somebody that you are deeply in love with them, especially somebody unlikely to have been in a previous serious relationship, when to tell the truth you in still in the process of finding out whether you are simply compatible, is some combination of foolishness, immaturity, recklessness, thoughtlessness, manipulation ….

Yes, having sex complicates matters, but I doubt it alone would prove so overwhelming for a 21 year old female.

True love involves some degree of a detached sense that one is gradually taking on responsibility for the guardianship of each other’s well being and sanity.

I think this is good for me. Why? Because I'm tired of 2 year men...men who blatantly string women along for 2 years and then suddenly disappear. I've never dated one, thank goodness...but I have watched as men like this have really done a number on girls. A man cannot take a girl all around the world, pose with perfect body language with her in Rome, yadda yadda and not expect SOME consequences when he decides to call it off.

There was a time when men were discouraged from acting like this.

She was 21. They look like a perfect match. Sorry, but if he wasn't 100% sure he wanted to marry her he shouldn't have whisked her away on exotic locations.

This is why I respect Roosh. A girl would have to be an idiot to believe he'd actually marry her. But at least you know what you are getting up front. The 2 year men I know Really Made the Girl/s feel as though Marriage Was Going To Happen.

    That is fucked up.

When is a girl supposed to know the difference between leading up to marriage and a 2 year man?

Now you all know why abstinence in relationships...for both men and women...is important. You all either play by the rules or enter this crazy world.

In my opinion, the guy deserves the trouble. If he wasn't going to marry her, she should total up all the times they had sex and get a cash amount. The end.

I absolutely agree. But as someone said, in every age, the sexes deserves each other. Fewer men would do that if more women were up front about what they want out of the relationship. I didn’t even think about leading a girl on after she said early on that she was looking for a husband. Maybe other guys would have, but I’m not even old-fashioned. That would be one easy way to mitigate “entering this crazy world.”

And a lot of those men are acting in all innocence when they lead a girl on for two years. Someone else comes along that makes him realize she’s not the right one. Or it takes two years for it to dawn on him that the honeymoon is over before it began.

Of course, the main reason they don’t say that when they should is because they know the end will likely ensue, and they’d rather entertain the fantasy while they’re living it than dash it.

I can sympathize with that, as I’ve often thought what a fantasy it must be to date me.

"The right one" is a largely silly piece of rationalization for modern sexual misbehavior. It is also a result of the fact that sexual attractiveness is not congruous with the characteristics of a good mate. This is why parents (in societies that actually work) have *always* been heavily involved in choosing the parents of their grandchildren.

  52. ROK had an article the other day and it listed 3 reasons why women cry when you dump them.

    1) She feels you are the best she can get and believes she cannot replace you

    2) She feels she didn’t get the compensation from you that she deserved once she gave up the sex to you

    3) She was the one who was wrong and hates being called out and punished for her behavior.

Either the Spearhead or AVFM had this historical series about various adventuresses in the past. There was quite a common thing of women setting men up, usually some beta sort of man with money. They would go on some dates, get a couple of letters or cards in order to get some tangible proof of the relationship, then sue the guy for Breach of Promise saying the guy promised to marry her but it was a lie. Most of the men would settle out of court. It got to be such a racket that the Congress got in on it to put a stop to it.

In Latin America there is a law called Estupro. It translates to Rape, or a more modern definition, Statutory Rape. It has gotten a little more loaded as a law in modern times in some countries. But it pertains to a girl that is older than the age of consent, but younger than legal adulthood of 18 years of age. Modern writings of the law cover things like use of alcohol or drugs, some idea that the girl was unable to give consent either due to temporary or permanent impairment. In the modern Latin jurisdictions like Chile, any person in a position of authority or seniority over the girl may be charged, like a boss at work, some older male with whom the mother may be having an affair, a teacher, etc.

But the historical intent of the law which is still respected in most jurisdictions is the idea of “Fraud”. Fathers got this written into the law where if a man promises to marry a girl and then if she has sex with him, and then he dumps her, and she is older than 14 and younger than 18, then he may be charged with Astupro.

And under Latin American law, Estupro is a category of Rape, the Spanish dictionaries give “Rape” as definition number 1. The statutory thing was number 2 and was added later.

The issue was, and still is, Men Should Know Better. It is the same thing as when a girl is drunk, and even if the man is drunk, the view under the law, definitely an unspoken view, is that a man has more agency than a woman and he is ultimately responsible. He should protect that women at all times and he is expected to do so.

Simon Sheppard writes of Displacement of Instinct. He states that “Instincts are never annulled, only displaced. The base instinct of men in a genetic sense is to impregnate as many females as possible. Society has created a counter instinct of suppressing this instinct. And in the eyes of earlier society, the desires or consent of the female was irrelevant. And men who could not suppress and control those tendencies disappeared from the gene pool. Jail is a rather recent development in human society. The men charged with protecting that female,be it her father or her mate, would kill him. So evolution selected for men with self-control.

On the other hand, there are few restraints on the instincts of females, the paramount instinct is to find a suitable mate. There appear to be few social restrictions on this instinct (or many other female instincts) whatever.

And suppression of this male instinct was even more important when “alphas”, high status men were involved. In a supposedly monogamous system, promiscuous alphas were (and are) the detriment to monogamy among most people. If there is a high status male to be had, then the unrestrained instincts of females are to stalk him, foregoing other lesser status males, including husbands, as long as he was on the loose. That is why there is such major shrieking when some big wheel, some famous high status male is caught being unfaithful. The woman is blameless. She is just following her best instincts. He should know better. It is the reason that “frats” are targeted, because these college men represent the most base instinct of females to chase the highest status men possible, to follow their core hypergamy instincts.

So while the sex game has changed, and this instinct is displaced, it is not annulled.

The comment above from OhComeOn, while it might be a troll, maybe even a guy writing it, it is still brilliant in encapsulating this collective sense of females in this idea of Estupro.

He took something from her, he owes her. He practiced Estupro, even if at any time she brought up marriage and he squelched it, if he stayed with her for the “two years”, then in her mind he owed her commitment. Women hate “serial monogamy” when it is practiced by men; it is empowering when it is practiced by women. With each relationship, her skill at manipulation gets better, she is able to know more of what she wants, and more importantly, what she can get as her sexual value becomes more and more calibrated to her.

And while we all jeer at the “1 in 5″ statistic (I wish to Tweet, “Hey Obama, 1 in 5 coeds will be raped by Haven Monahan’), there is probably some truth to the statement that 1 in 5 coeds will fall prey to some form of Estupro, whether it be via inebriation clouding their judgement, whether it be that even though they are above the “age of consent” they still lack maturity, or whether they fall prey to a Cad, or merely some guy that refused to trade the requisite commitment that feels she deserves for the sex she offered.

And this prohibiting instinct, this instinct to suppress male sexual strategy, the protective instinct of society, is displaced via current sexual accepted customs and culture. There is no longer some patriarchal figure, some father, some Big Brother, whether an actual one or some government or legal mechanism. That “breach of promise” scam removed it. Feminism finished it off. Yet the instinct to prevent and punish Astupro surfaces in another way.

    Big Sister.

And all women collectively, subconsciously, have this instinct. No matter what we say, no matter how many articles like this one are written. And no matter how many false rape hoaxes are brought to light, they still come back and back with stuff like #NoPerfectVictim. And they suffer from Cognitive Dissonance because the majority of women are struggling with current sexual regime. All restraints have been lifted from women, restraints that were put in place to protect them, and they are victims of a punishment they created themselves.

And to admit that is anathema to the ego investment they have placed into the whole house of cards they have built. More and more data comes out with proof of the biochemical, neurological, hence psychological detriment to unrestrained sexual activity for women. It is becoming obvious that women cannot carry on “like men” and do so without sustaining harmful effects. And society cannot continue to suffer the effects of this behavior by women.

In other time, perhaps Lonsdale marries her. But in this day and age, he cannot risk the legal jeopardy that she posed to him. Even with a Pre-Nup given that he was principal in Palantir, then it is possible that the growth of that asset could “migrate into the community” because she gave him care that could be construed as instrumental in his performance in that company.

And thus, the rage when men will not commit.

So we have Estupro and Big Sister enforcing it.

The truth is this: If you act as a gentleman, you will avoid the charge of Estupro.

And that is what women seek. They may not state it in so many words. If she is intoxicated, a Gentleman will protect her, see she is safe. A gentleman will not misuse her “favors”. That might be an archaic concept. But it is one of the complaints that even the staunchest feminist make. One writer from Jezebel said about Yes Means Yes, “Perhaps it will make men think. And they will not try to get away with something just because they can.”

  54. Two more points:
    - Perhaps the man involved in this silly affair is an asshole; and perhaps he is not. It’s always morally suspect when a “mentor” gets involved with his ward. But at the end of the day, she said yes, when she could have just said no.
    - And indeed, if she really thought he intended to marry her, she could have withheld her favors until the wedding night. People have been doing it for thousands of years. It’s not a novel idea. She didn’t. That’s her problem.

I say sue her for libel. Accusing a man of rape is a serious matter. It could cause him all sorts of trouble and destroy his reputation. Sue all of them. Jacky, the broad with the mattress (wtf?), that large mammal from the TV show, all of them. Except that, come to think, none of the ladies I mentioned seems to have fingered any particular dude for the purported crimes inflicted upon her body. Just vague insinuations and a lot of nonsense.
But that’s all right – if they can’t be sued, then at least they can be given what they truly need – intensive psychiatric care for their delusions.

Ellie Clougherty is either crazy or a fool. She's 24, still extremely beautiful, and has a decent education. Now no respectable man - and, more importantly for her, no rich man - will go near her.

Get ready to spend the rest of your life dating a string of jobless meth addicts, Ms. Clougherty.

That or an inidie musician slash bike messenger with tats is likely her speed anyway. If she had affection for the other guy it would not be regret rape.

As far as Asian women go, increased immigration and increased anti White guy stuff make that more difficult. That guy fresh off the jet is likely a better prospect provided his parents don’t get executed for stealing in the PRC … and not making the proper payoffs. Certsinly more than some White guy striver. Who has a built in handicap.

A family is now a single mom with one or more ilkegitimate kids. Maybe by different fathers. That’s the fruit of the sexual revolution and feminism and women seem quite happy with it.

    Is this good for me?

    1) The guys a Neocon—So yes this is good for me

    2) Does this scare men into making sure a girl knows their true intentions? – Yes…So yet again…Good for me

    3) Does this story teach girls to withhold sex versus Kate “The Mattress” Middleton? Yes…So again…Good for me

    4) Would this guy support feminism if It Ended up Screwing Me Over? Pretty safe bet that Yes…he would…So having him taken down by his own tenants is again…Good for me…This guy is the alpha that benefits from feminism and girls giving up before marriage. He’s the enemy to all good, kind men out there.

    5) Would this guy having less money and this girl having more money be good for me? Yes. Because I don’t know what neo-con organizations his money is funneled into. If she was smart enough to go to Stanford…she’s smart enough to have babies.

So take the fucker down Girlfriend! Take him down!

It is presented three decades later by the media industry for a new generation of women to lap up.

I was there, and I did that. Young, pretty women wanted what they read in that book and what they saw in that movie. I had a nice place and was a step above most of them socioeconomically. I never suggested these things, and wasn’t interested in them until those women brought them up.

One young lady even gave me her own copy of Nine and a Half Weeks, with her pencilled-in annotations suggesting what she would like to try. (She was an English major, good with footnotes.) We continued off and on for several years.

Then she leaves you for some guy with a smaller vocabulary who sweats more and for some reason has more money than you do. You can thank him for taking her off your hands.

The end.

This commenter is basically right. This man wasted two years of this woman’s prime. Its not *that* surprising that she went bananas. What she is doing is evil, and most women certainly don’t react in such an evil way, but its not surprising that women from the crazy/evil end of the bell curve react in such an evil way.

This guy is playing by the current rules, that he didn’t make, and so doesn’t deserve to have his life ruined, but this kind of crap is why we somehow some way have to end the sexual revolution experiment.

Who's getting used here? She gave him sex, which cost her nothing and which she probably enjoyed. He gave her trips which appear to have cost him a princely sum.

If women don't want to get used for sex, there's a simple solution: make men wait.

I've seen far more men get used for their money than women get used for their bodies.

“If women don’t want to get used for sex, there’s a simple solution: make men wait.”

But men won’t wait if other women are putting out. Why buy the cow if you can get the milk for free. Notions of chastity have always existed for reason. We done fucked up the entire social universe.

“Someone else comes along that makes him realize she’s not the right one.”

“The right one” is a largely silly piece of rationalization for modern sexual misbehavior. It is also a result of the fact that sexual attractiveness is not congruous with the characteristics of a good mate. This is why parents (in societies that actually work) have *always* been heavily involved in choosing the parents of their grandchildren.

Sort of. Women want to be the sexual partner of the kind of guy that everyone knows can provide these things. Not that the trip isn’t enjoyable in iteself (just as many have pointed out that, sure, sex feels good to women too), but for women, that isn’t *the point*.

Or divorce them 10 years in and marry their boss / friend / rival etc. Or even the Heartiste concept of 'Orbiter males'.

C'mon, since time immemorial women have been using sex as a weapon against men, and men status against women. For a while Western civ. figured this shit out and put heavy social constraints on both sexes, and we got something pretty good out of it. This woman should not receive any kind of legal settlement based on existing law, but I wonder what would be the effect if we made common law marriage more legally binding. Say more than six consecutive months of sexual intercourse and cohabitation at least 50% of nights between to unmarried people. After this, a break-up would require a settlement. Of course divorce would have to require cause (with a substantial burden of proof) so the woman could just walk away with a check. This sounds like it would favor gold-diggers, but perhaps men would be a lot more careful, marriage would occur earlier, more people could find spouses earlier, white people would have babies, dogs and cats would be friends. Common law marriage, where it exists/existed usually defined as (continuous) co-habitation (household formation) of one year. Simple concept (mostly) no longer exists as it was twisted (by lawyers, judges) into unrecognition.

Brokering a marriage is a two family affair if you want to do it that way, but a lot of American mothers, many of whom are divorcées themselves, seem to think they’re entitled to call all the shots in any amorous relationships their daughters end up in.

When the potential mother-in-law is working behind the scenes and not being forthcoming about it, it’s almost certainly in bad faith.

I’m going to tell my daughter about the ways of the world when she’s old enough to understand so that she knows better than to waste her time or screw things up by trying to enter into a marriage through scheming. I have no idea whether it will work, but it seems to me that not enough fathers take the time to be realistic about these things with their daughters these days. Maybe a father can help bring his daughter down to earth. It seems mothers, on the other hand, treat marriage like a blood sport.

Just spit-balling here.

Eliminate no-fault divorce and marital “rape” as well and you are on to something. Men may have had to wait for sex in the times of our fathers, but once they got it at least they actually owned it. Now it can be much more costly.

  83. One commenter suggested “Never sleep with someone who has more problems than you do”. I’d still be a virgin if I had followed that advice.

I googled pictures of this woman, and she’s not that hot. You’d think a billionaire would have better taste. Of course, if I were rich, I’d go the Charlie Sheen route and just rent it.

Our culture tells women over and over and over again that
    1) they deserve to be happy, and
    2) that it’s a man’s fault if they are not.

No wonder most of them are nuts.

Oh, come on. She was 21 and still an undergrad. The vast majority of modern women at that age are not expecting to get married for another 5 to 10 years (if at all). This is not the Victorian age – her SMV (if not her hymen) was still fully intact.

Seems that Joe Lonsdale has been quite the raging NeoCon since his college days.

    http://stanfordreview.org/old_archives/Archive/Volume_XXXI/Issue_5/Opinion/opinion3.shtml

On June 6, 2013 Lonsdale spoke after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the CyberSecurity Innovation Showcase at Tel Aviv University.[41]

Joe Lonsdale is what an earlier generation would have called a young man in a hurry. A protégé of investor Peter Thiel, Lonsdale helped him build Clarium Capital into a multibillion-dollar hedge fund. Then, again with Thiel, Lonsdale co-founded Palantir Technologies, a security analytics software firm. Having made a small fortune in his twenties — he recently treated himself to a 30th birthday party at Hearst Castle on California’s Central Coast — Lonsdale has set his sights on a new challenge: designing software for the ultrawealthy.

What a load of PR bullshit:

Lonsdale has set his sights on a new challenge: designing software for the ultrawealthy.

    Means what?

CNN ought to put a time line together, as opposed to regurgitating press release BS.

Lonsdale works at PayPal as undergrad.
    Lonsdale graduates Stanford 2003.
Co-founds Palantir 2004, co-head of product, later forms, co-heads Palatir Finance division
    Co-founds Addepar 2010
Clarium Capital re-starts after Peter Thiel exits PayPal, looses nearly all its capital from 2008-2010 on bad market bets.

Having made a small fortune in his twenties

Is small fortune anything like jumbo shrimp? It all depends on the modifier and what is being modified…

  86. Without the ability to marry and hence divorce, women are going to have to become more creative about how they can cash in on their ever briefer encounters with the opposite sex. One way to do this would be to get pregnant but even that will become harder as RUSIG becomes available. My guess is that it won’t be doctors pushing it as much as lawyers, financial planners, and accountants. If memory serves me, British Columbia now considers it common law marriages after two years of living together which is the equivalent of a shotgun wedding by the state. I cannot imagine any men were behind that law.

Common law marriage, where it exists/existed usually defined as (continuous) co-habitation (household formation) of one year. Simple concept (mostly) no longer exists as it was twisted (by lawyers, judges) into unrecognition.

I do have some sympathy for Ellie becoming a very young alpha widow after being lead on by a man who in a different age would have been maligned as a bounder and a cad.

She is now undertaking a MAD strategy and I think Lonsdale would be better served to settle this out of the public eye. He must hate all this negative publicity, I would guess that a young success story like him has never experienced this before.

Also, as a father I would be despondent if my young daughter got involved with a guy like this. Whoever mentioned arranged marriages above is on the right track.

Lonsdale is a beta-nerd. Alphas don’t pedestalize by lavishing co-eds with foreign trips to show off resources. Alphas tease by taking trips without them. Alphas don’t chase. Too many beta signs.

  89. I don’t get it. If someone drives drunk, they are legally responsible for their behaviors and the consequences of those behaviors. However, if a woman “parties” drunk, she bears no responsibility for her behaviors and the consequences of those behaviors. It falls on others (always males it seems) to intervene and protector her from herself. If they don’t, they suffer criminal liability. If this is because her judgment is impair during her drunken orgy and she cannot legally consent to sex (no matter how much she pleaded for it), then if would follow that the drunken males who allegedly raped her also had impaired judgment and should also not be held legally liable for whatever happened.

As Steve so often points out, this is a throwback to the days before the liberal culture of narcissistic self-indulgence in which women — emotional, irrational, and inconsistent — expected males to take care of them in spite of themselves. The principle: Men are responsible for their behaviors and actions; women are not.

But let me conjure up a new “victim culture” for our age … males who have been unwittingly seduced by women with impaired judgment. If that gains currency, we might finally reach the apogee of our “victim culture” in which close to 100% of the population, including white males, can claim victimization in one way or another. Then, we would need a new legal codes on how to deal with “victim on victim” crimes. I can see the new legal defense strategies materialize as one side presses the claim they were victimized by the other party more than they victimized the other party. Don’t they call things like this a “reductio ad absurdum”?

The end.

I had girlfriends when I was a teenager and in no doubt as to my sexuality(being gay is hard and lonely unless you live in a city, I grew up in a rural area). Living as a gay man is a choice for me.

Now the shoe is on the other foot. Being a hetero male is increasingly perilous I wonder if homosexuality will become increasingly attractive for borderline bi/straight men. Life as a gay is grand. All the sex you want(provided you make a little effort to take care of yourself) and no problems with women or kids. In a world where society no longer exists, why sacrifice?

Greater or lesser, the question remains: How do you think you're going to persuade American youth to put up with direct parental involvement in their love lives after they've reached the age of majority? Unless you're going to revoke women's legal autonomy - which I don't believe you could manage even if most men thought that would be a good idea - they won't put up with it, and would abandon any cultural or religious tradition that tried to reinstate such practices in droves.

Maybe after the Great Demographic Collapse, when the memetic and genetic baseline of the population has changed, this proposal might be more than a pipe dream. But today's women aren't going to buy it - and I can't blame them. I wouldn't tolerate it if I were in their shoes, why should I expect them to do so?

Here's a thought: let's start the process of returning to our Judeo-Christian moral roots by applying the Golden Rule. And stopping there. It IS the whole of the Torah, after all.

Personally I think he’s a douchebag (looks like one too)

I know that under the legal system she has no right to sue him…but yet again…On some level he is at fault. You can’t do that to a 21 year old girl unless you want problems.

From a female perspective, I’m glad Ellie did drag his name through the mud. I’ve had to do digging on men in the past to discover their ’2 year’ dating pattern, but this just makes it so much easier. A quick google search will save a lot of women time and hurt on this guy.

For future reference, at what age CAN you do this to a girl? (BTW, in modern parlance every female out of diapers is a woman, not a girl, certainly a 21 yr old) Is 2 years the dividing line - can you break up after 1.5 years and not expect revenge? Can a man seek revenge if the woman breaks up with HIM after 2 years or would this be stalking? I would really like to know what the hell the rules are, because nobody (except you) seems to know what the elements of the crime of "retroactive rape" are. I suspect you're just making up shit as you go along, as long as the result is that the man is always guilty.

Now there are some feminists/moralists who say that it's just as well that no man can know the rules - that way they will just keep it in their pants to be totally safe. But to me, that's Kafkaesque - it's essential to a system of justice that you have clearly defined written rules set down in advance so that everyone can regulate their conduct accordingly.

These people defending her because Lonsdale is supposedly some lascivious Jew are ignoring the fact that a) she knew he was Jewish, and b) she's young enough to cut her losses and fine a man better suited to her.

But instead she chose to try to extort the Jewish billionaire. Not cool. Makes white gentile women look pretty bad, if you ask me.

I can't believe some people here are trying to justify her sleazy behavior.

Where I come from, we call girls like that "white trash."
    , @Jack D
You really need to work on your Yiddish.

goy - singular . Means "nation" - implicitly all the OTHER nations except the Jews, in other words, Gentile.

    goyim - plural. Gentiles.

goyisch (adj.) pertaining to goyim - e.g. a goyisch kopf ( a Gentile head = not that smart)

    goyische (f. adj.)

She is a "goyische girl", not a goyim girl.

We will skip over accusative, nominative and dative for now.

Non-orthodox Jews (including Lonsdale's own mother) are now marrying non-Jews at rates that are reported to approach 70%, so it's not like the old days where the plan was to shtup (stuff = make whopee with) a lot of blondes while you were in college but find a nice Jewish girl to marry. All signs point to Lonsdale being genuinely in love with this girl until he realized she was really nucking futs and wasn't going to get better. If she had been a little less insane, she would have made a fine trophy wife for him.

"Someone else comes along that makes him realize she’s not the right one."

"The right one" is a largely silly piece of rationalization for modern sexual misbehavior. It is also a result of the fact that sexual attractiveness is not congruous with the characteristics of a good mate. This is why parents (in societies that actually work) have *always* been heavily involved in choosing the parents of their grandchildren.

    good point.

    I basically agree.

Still, I must say there is a lot that any heterosexual male, or female for that matter, can learn from the insights of evolutionary biology that can be applied to their love life. Lots of men have real hostility about having been brainwashed with Feminist/Gender Marxist nonsense that only got themselves hurt. A little bit of Darwinian insight into the sexes could have helped avoid real pain.

I have briefly read some of the "Game" books and websites. They have their point, I just reject the misogyny. A man can stand his ground with out running a woman into the ground. Adults can and should be honest in their relationships whether or not they choose them to be sexual.

Both men and women could benefit from cognitive psychology in order to develop interpersonal and dating skills. It would go a long way to help deal with shyness.

I think a lot of hostility that men have these days is that many of them have worked really hard to build careers that been seriously damaged by the flood of cheap labor that have hammered down their wages and forced them to work longer hours reducing their marriage/dating options or have led in part to divorce.

I would rather see them blame TPTB than women.

Sorry but that makes me laugh.

In case you have not been paying attention.

Lonsdale, like the aforementioned Larry Ellison(Oracle CEO), is Jewish, actually not just Jewish but a really strident aggressive NeoCon Jew.

Ellison is notorious for his past Shiksa obsessions. Now he just buys them off one Acura or Lexis at a time.

Lonsdale had his two year affair with a pretty young naive goyim girl who in spite of his infatuation and over the top professions of love, he knew he was unlikely to marry. Sadly, somebody should have clued in the girl as to what was going on .

For a classic satire of a Jewish nebbish man child with a infantile Shiksa fixation rent the movie "The Heartbreak Kid" 1972 version, a really dark movie that tries to put too much of the blame on the goyim. Still it is a priceless revelation of the main character's, played by Charles Grodin, gross immaturity and amorality.

Still its not rape. All's fair in love and war, but some sides are better armed than others.

She isn’t even much better looking than Lonsdale, who while he may be a nerd, isn’t ugly. This girl is second rate. She looks like a Dutch peasant. I’ve done much better with much less money. She just wanted to cash in, and is furious that it didn’t happen. Tough luck.

These people defending her because Lonsdale is supposedly some lascivious Jew are ignoring the fact that a) she knew he was Jewish, and b) she’s young enough to cut her losses and fine a man better suited to her.

But instead she chose to try to extort the Jewish billionaire. Not cool. Makes white gentile women look pretty bad, if you ask me.

I can’t believe some people here are trying to justify her sleazy behavior.

So the girl wanted 75K and now Lonsdale is counter suing for 150K

Personally I think he's a douchebag (looks like one too)

I know that under the legal system she has no right to sue him...but yet again...On some level he is at fault. You can't do that to a 21 year old girl unless you want problems.

From a female perspective, I'm glad Ellie did drag his name through the mud. I've had to do digging on men in the past to discover their '2 year' dating pattern, but this just makes it so much easier. A quick google search will save a lot of women time and hurt on this guy.

For future reference, at what age CAN you do this to a girl? (BTW, in modern parlance every female out of diapers is a woman, not a girl, certainly a 21 yr old) Is 2 years the dividing line – can you break up after 1.5 years and not expect revenge? Can a man seek revenge if the woman breaks up with HIM after 2 years or would this be stalking? I would really like to know what the hell the rules are, because nobody (except you) seems to know what the elements of the crime of “retroactive rape” are. I suspect you’re just making up shit as you go along, as long as the result is that the man is always guilty.

Now there are some feminists/moralists who say that it’s just as well that no man can know the rules – that way they will just keep it in their pants to be totally safe. But to me, that’s Kafkaesque – it’s essential to a system of justice that you have clearly defined written rules set down in advance so that everyone can regulate their conduct accordingly.

Yes, and Lonsdale before this girl had a 2 year relationship that had recently ended ....be curious to know the details of that

The guy is developing a pattern...

Be curious to know the ethnicity of the commentator who Steve quoted, and the ethnicity of the girl's friend...just from the ethnic/tribal angle

I'm glad that Steve's commentators are not all brainwashed by Roissy

Just because a man is a man...Doesn't mean he's on your guys' side. A loose analogy is...It's like taking the side of the muslim men in Rotherdam who raped those young girls....simply because they are men and the girls allowed themselves to be duped and the girls parents weren't watching.

I’m glad that Steve’s commentators are not all brainwashed by Roissy

    I basically agree.

Still, I must say there is a lot that any heterosexual male, or female for that matter, can learn from the insights of evolutionary biology that can be applied to their love life. Lots of men have real hostility about having been brainwashed with Feminist/Gender Marxist nonsense that only got themselves hurt. A little bit of Darwinian insight into the sexes could have helped avoid real pain.

You really need to work on your Yiddish.

goy – singular . Means “nation” – implicitly all the OTHER nations except the Jews, in other words, Gentile.

    goyim – plural. Gentiles.

goyisch (adj.) pertaining to goyim – e.g. a goyisch kopf ( a Gentile head = not that smart)

    goyische (f. adj.)

She is a “goyische girl”, not a goyim girl.

We will skip over accusative, nominative and dative for now.

Non-orthodox Jews (including Lonsdale’s own mother) are now marrying non-Jews at rates that are reported to approach 70%, so it’s not like the old days where the plan was to shtup (stuff = make whopee with) a lot of blondes while you were in college but find a nice Jewish girl to marry. All signs point to Lonsdale being genuinely in love with this girl until he realized she was really nucking futs and wasn’t going to get better. If she had been a little less insane, she would have made a fine trophy wife for him.

  108. Yeah, I’m not really big on the whole “women are entitled to be psycho bunny boilers if their victim is Jewish” line of reasoning. Aside from being blatant “Who, Whom?”-type reasoning, it’s a case where one party is clearly in the right and one is clearly in the wrong, and ethnicity really doesn’t come into it. I’ll side with sane people of any ethnoreligious identity over batshit crazy chicks, every time.

Condemning Lonsdale for not following the Victorian model of sexual morality is also rather missing the mark; that genie has been out of the bottle since long before he was born. It’s not going back in, and no woman can reasonably have it as her expectation. And besides, crying rape in response to being seduced by a cad (which does not seem like a fair description of Lonsdale, in any event) hasn’t been considered acceptable behavior since the Renaissance. And calling off a relationship because one of the parties is a lunatic has been considered acceptable since forever.

If we’re going to be waging an ethnic pride contest, which team wins when an Irishman porks a Jewess? Key and lock analogies, “stealing” of women, yada yada yada. Yep, I’d say Lonsdale belongs to team Goy. Furthermore, he’s best pals with Thiel, who himself is about as far “right” as one can get in this country while maintaining respectability. That Lonsdale feels affinity for Israel does not change anything. He is after all half jew and so why shouldn’t he take the side of his ethnic half-brethren over primitive Islamic peoples (who are the enemies of goys just as much as of jews)?

His mother raised him Jewish. He's Jewish. In terms of "looks", he looks like a mixed Jew, which most Ashkenazi are. Almost a quarter of Ashkenazi are light haired and light eyed.

But the kicker is what he's written at The Stanford Review as Editor and later. His world-view, attitude, preoccupations are all Jewish, rather militant in my reading. It's more than likely he saw this girl as a non-Jew toy-thing he could enjoy (among many others, I'd guess).

This is nothing against him in today's world. My personal morals dictate that I find him pretty reprehensible, but opportunity and means are all on his side. Few 30 year old men in his position would have done differently. But as someone here said earlier, it would be nice if both sides were equally aware of the other side's motives, especially when one side works really hard to make sure one pays an awful price for questioning their motives.

Whites don't mean 'arranged' marriage in the Indian/Muslim sense but more of the Duggars sense

The Duggar parents were actively involved in both of their children's dating and mate selection

Greater or lesser, the question remains: How do you think you’re going to persuade American youth to put up with direct parental involvement in their love lives after they’ve reached the age of majority? Unless you’re going to revoke women’s legal autonomy – which I don’t believe you could manage even if most men thought that would be a good idea – they won’t put up with it, and would abandon any cultural or religious tradition that tried to reinstate such practices in droves.

Maybe after the Great Demographic Collapse, when the memetic and genetic baseline of the population has changed, this proposal might be more than a pipe dream. But today’s women aren’t going to buy it – and I can’t blame them. I wouldn’t tolerate it if I were in their shoes, why should I expect them to do so?

Here’s a thought: let’s start the process of returning to our Judeo-Christian moral roots by applying the Golden Rule. And stopping there. It IS the whole of the Torah, after all.

Well, if I’m a loser, I guess my opinion doesn’t matter, does it?

But I am being honest. She’s not that attractive by my standards. In my loser opinion, if you care to hear it, I have known a lot of better-looking women than her, even including girls who worked at the local feed store. And when I was a youth, I certainly didn’t have to pull out a billion-dollar wad to catch their interest. For some reason, I respect them all the more for that. Hell, maybe they were losers, too.

Actually, I kind of prefer being a loser to being stuck with women like her.

If you find Japanese or Koreans who are not poor, you are probably safe. Low- and mid-income East Asian women want to get married so they can stop working. Low- and mid-income SE Asians want to get married to escape their lives. Chinese seem to have post-communist social disorders similar to Russians.

One strategy is to look for East European girls who are devoutly religious–a small number of course.

Or one could look for a nice, sweet, caring Christian girl with whom you fall in love.

    No

He turned her into a prostitute.

He should have made it clear from the beginning as the other commentator pointed out...your keys to your new car are on the table.

Look at the photo in the other post. They look pretty damn tight. She thinks he's going to marry her. If I saw that photo I would say "Oh how cute...I can't wait for the wedding!"

You have to prove intent on his part. Was his intention to marry her and then he met her mom and said "oh fuck run!" Or was he ALwAYs playing the Roissy game?

If he was always just following the Roissy playbook then yeah...he should be held accountable on some financial level.

Yes little girl, women are never wrong.

  126. This 50 Shades of Grey book/movie sounds a lot like the 2002 movie Secretary. A naive but plucky, virtuous women submits to a dominant anti-social male with psychological hang ups because she wants to rescue him.

Hence, liberal female viewers can fantasise about being sexually serviced by a hunky, rich guy whilst maintaining their sense of intellectual and moral dominance over the politically incorrect sex.

She isn’t even much better looking than Lonsdale, who while he may be a nerd, isn’t ugly. This girl is second rate. She looks like a Dutch peasant. I’ve done much better with much less money. She just wanted to cash in, and is furious that it didn’t happen. Tough luck.

Have you seen her pictures here?

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2944692/Former-Stanford-student-Ford-model-24-sues-venture-capitalist-college-mentor-claiming-raped-ten-times-day-trips-London-Rome-left-PTSD.html

Because you are either insanely hostile, blind , or have impossibly high standards like the loser Jack Black character in the Farrelly Brother's movie Shallow Hal .

Dutch Peasant? Well she can serve me a piece of apple pie any time!!!!

Read the Daily Mail article, Lonsdale sounds like a real piece of work.

What you see when you wake up in the morning isn’t what you see on the magazine cover. It’s called “make-up” for a reason.

She’s a homelier version of my favorite comic character actress:

The end.

I think there is something to the 2 year limit, but I don’t think it’s what you are saying it is. During my 20′s I saw a lot of 2 year relationships, hell, I was in one. But they seemed to exist because that seems to be the natural time limit of infatuation or romantic love. When there is no societal reason to stay together, the relationship ends (although probably not without heartbreak and throwing things) and both people move on. It’s not some insidious plot by men to trick women with implied hints of marriage. Most of the time, it was the woman who broke things off.

We live in an age in which there is very little pressure to marry, so if you are a guy, you can bounce from one two year relationship to the next to the next. Why marry? Obviously if you’re a woman, fertility places a pretty hard time limit on how long you can waste your life, but women in their 20′s seem to mostly be oblivious to this.

The 2 year relationship ends when women end it.

Asians are big time gold diggers, and as Jared Taylor points out, do you really want your grand kids to look like Fu Man Chu? As for Russian women, they are psychotic. Best to mine for a bride among the girls you knew and respected before you got rich.

Asians are big time gold diggers, and as Jared Taylor points out, do you really want your grand kids to look like Fu Man Chu?

This is what Jared Taylor said: “For my own family, as I once put it, I want my children to look like their grandparents, not like Anwar Sadat or Whoopi Goldberg or Fu Manchu.”

Let’s see, among the three unattractive people listed, who’s real and who’s fictional?

I am certain a man as intelligent as Taylor knows that “Fu Manchu” is a fictional Asian villain played by a white actor. Let’s look at Fu Manchu, shall we?

Now, let’s look at a real life Hollywood character, Russell Wong, who is half-white and half-Asian:

Yes, they look exactly the same. What a shame it would be to have a son who looks like Russell Wong.

You know, my wife (Midwestern white) and I (East Asian) have been known to have given birth to some mixed children. My oldest boy looks very similar to this guy:
