Three popular buzzwords these days are Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity.

Speaker: What do we want?

Crowd: Diversity! Inclusion! Equity!

Speaker: What’s that spell?

Crowd: DIE!

Narrator: Careerists in the DIE business don’t actually want the white goose that lays their golden eggs to DIE. It just seems like they do.

It means a racial communism, just like I wrote on your blog about 10 years ago in a comment you didn’t then approve, but I think you might agree with that descriptive prediction now.
The leaders of this stuff are pretty shameless Steve. They fully expect a company to have to have commensurate numbers of the various races in lower, middle, and upper management regardless of performance or competence, as per their share of the state population. They also expect to win their share of company performance awards and end-of-the-year bonuses, or else they will call the EEOC.

I wish this stuff applied at FedGov also, together with anti-nepotism policies by executive order. No more James Comey’s daughter getting to work at the Justice Department or FBI. Thereare plenty of law school graduates named Tamika and Juanita who could have that job. No more Cabots or Lowells at the State Department. We needs us some D’Quans and Julios who made it through night law schools there also. I want the upper crust to share in the exquisite pleasures of -real-diversity, good and hard.

Does Obama not realize that the Senate is a place in which he could have demonstrated competence, if not in an executive position, at least in a position?

Given that he has no record of important legislation to his credit in either legislative position he has held, and that he has never been an executive at any level from gas station to Fortune 500 company to a squad in the military to a combat division or squadron, it is past fantasy to think he will be a competent President.

One of the things that led me to abandon my youthful center left politics was the realization that progressives only viewed people like me as useful insofar as I paid plenty of taxes, and that I should expect zero personal benefits from the government I helped fund nor should I have any say over how policy is decided. That is reserved for the holy diverse.

There are still plenty of woke white rubes that agree with this in principle, but once they start getting a taste of what it means to truly cede control over things like your kids school to the DIE jihadis, things will start to change. Unfortunately that means lots of pain and irritation for the rest of us until they truly wake up.

    Steve,

Slightly off topic but related to your DIE post here and your posts on movies.

The Mrs. and I went to see Ford Versus Ferrari last night and it is the least diverse and Woke movie I have seen in years. As a disclaimer the last movie I saw in an actual theater was Rogue One, so that tells you how well Hollywood has captured my attention.

Returning to the film it is an SJW nightmare:

    – All the characters are white, major and minor.
    – There is one female major character, Ken Miles wife. All the other females you see are fans in the grandstands or, GASP! secretaries at Ford Motor Company.
    – Ken Miles, his wife Molly, and his son Peter are depicted as a tight knit nuclear family even through the financial difficulties they face at points in the story
    – Peter Miles loves his father and views him as a hero
    – White men design the cars, build the cars, and solve the problems that occur as a team
    – Ford is depicted as a Machiavellian corporation, but it’s a company that can actually ACHIEVE things like building the Le Mans winning GT40
    – The only diversity is some characters are Brits, the Italians figure prominently, and Carroll Shelby is a Texan

OBVIOUSLY this movie is so problematic it’s in the top five at the box office. I await your review if you see it.

One of the major flaws with Affirmative Action and Diversity quotas is that it concentrates negroes in dying industries. Jesse Jackson, e.g., demanded US auto makers increase the number of negro auto dealerships back in the 1970s. The US automakers did as they were told. Unfortunately this coincided with the period where Japanese automakers were eating America’s car makers lunch. If Jackson had been smart he would have approached Japanese automakers looking to expand their US dealerships and pointed out the value of gaining negro brand loyalty by awarding Toyota, Honda etc dealerships to negro businessmen instead.

Jackson also did the same with beer distributorships for the big American brewers just as their market share began to fall.

Negroes never get in on the ground floor of tomorrow’s companies preferring to extort positions in yesterdays. Now they want ‘in’ with big tech companies at the very moment ( and perhaps because) they are in danger of being broken up and regulated making them vulnerable to extortion.

Interesting question: as a Conquistador-American, I occasionally get approached for ‘diversity’ initiatives.

    PRO:
    1. I fill up the ‘[email protected]’ quota, allowing them to hire a white guy. (Already sided with one in a hiring decision, though I’m not sure how much influence I had.)
    2. Theoretically if I pick up enough of these positions I could get to a point where I might actually be able to do something. I have…about ten years’ worth of expenses in savings and no kids, allowing me to survive for a while if cancelled (and not put anyone else at risk).

    CON:
    1. You’re profiting from an immoral system.
    2. Lots of people think they can ‘work within the system’ and wind up being corrupted by it.
    3. I have no charisma. The most I could probably do is write a blog, and my ancestry (half a set of parentheses in addition) would ruin any leadership potential anywhere to the right of the Intellectual Dark Web. Malibu may be exclusive, but it’s not particularly rich.

I’m skeptical. Other sources give figures like

    https://www.point2homes.com/US/Neighborhood/CA/Malibu-Demographics.html

Average Household Income, $261,237.00. Median Household Income, $134,282.00.

    also notice:

    Occupied Housing Units 5,499
    Owner Occupied 4,050
    Renter Occupied 1,449

Given that owner occupied figure, consider the Malibu real estate market: https://www.zillow.com/malibu-ca/

Does anyone have Malibu net worth data? I would not be surprised if that looked different. The best data I found was at https://www.bizjournals.com/losangeles/news/2017/02/09/here-are-los-angeles-wealthiest-zip-codes-i.html
but the net worth data is clearly capped at $500k (look at Palos Verdes).

Something Glenn Loury pointed out a generation ago: the utility of affirmative action for the lesser sort in the helping professions is that it socializes the client’s accomplishments and robs him of the autonomy to deviate from group consensus.

Thanks for that. Can you recommend a reference where he says that? The clearest statement I see is in:

    https://www.researchgate.net/publication/231787149_Why_Should_We_Care_about_Group_Inequality

Indeed, in order to defend such programs in the private sector, it becomes necessary for advocates to argue that almost no blacks could reach the positions in question without special favors. When there is internal disagreement among black intellectuals, for example, about the merits of affirmative action, critics of the policy are attacked as being disingenuous, since (it is said) they clearly owe their own prominence to the very policy they criticize. (See, for example, Cornel West 1986). The specific circumstances of the individual do not matter in this, for it is presumed that all blacks are indebted to civil rights activity for their achievements. The consequence is a kind of “socialization” of the individual’s success. The individual’s effort to claim achievement for himself or herself (and thus to secure the autonomy and legitimacy needed to deviate from group
consensus) is perceived as a kind of betrayal. From the reasonable observation that all blacks are indebted to those who fought and beat Jim Crow, these intellectuals draw the conclusion that the group’s most accomplished persons, by celebrating their personal achievements as being due to their ability and not to racial preferences, have betrayed their fellows!

No argument the natural female mental profile has been been warped by the reigning ideology and technology into something that is often quite grotesque. But it’s not like you can’t find quality girls. If you actively search and screen and lay down the law in terms of ideology and behavior to be with you–absolutely no compromises, no equivacation– i think a guy–a guy with a decent job–can still find a girl who’ll be a good wife and mother.

Three Norco High volleyball players suspended after posting of video with racial slur

Jenna Meyers, Rebecca Kling and Mackenzie Coley, friends and volleyball teammates, met at the school parking lot, five minutes before the bell rang. Then, two boys from school started writing words on the windshield of Coley’s dusty car.

Meyers shot a video of the words and her friends smiling and laughing, apparently reacting to what was scrawled in dust — a racial epithet against black people and “KKK.”

Meyers then put the video on Snapchat, which sparked outrage and led to all five students’ suspension. The girls missed the the CIF championship game — which their team team ended up losing. Now the girls and their families say the incident has been misunderstood and that they have been treated unfairly.

Agree about the young ladies in Argentina. Chile and a lot of the Eastern European countries also have tons of beautiful young women around.

Folks I ran into in Mendoza seemed neutral to slightly friendly towards Americans. The beef is fantastic as are the local Malbec-derived red wines.

OTOH, I can’t get too excited about the economy in Argentina. It is difficult to find places that take credit cards and it is also difficult to secure cash. To get cash, everyone says, “go to the guys on the street corner and get the blue (unofficial) exchange rate.”

I don’t recommend that because the corner guys run in packs of 3 to 5. If you go that route you’d better have at least 2 or 3 friends of your own and have at least two people in your group who speak fluent Spanish.

If you’re on your own, better to exchange at the Sheraton desk, local bank, or with the kindly old fellow at the local Western Union office.

Can’t speak for Vietnam, never been. Would love to go, Asia fascinates me, as do all their lovely young women.

I’m guessing the wheels will come off US Govt in the 2030’s. You look at the current trajectory of our politics, and I suspect one of two things will happen:

    1) There is a quiet change of govt Latin American style, where the constitution is quietly scrapped and certain political stances are informally outlawed. This will probably be done via court-packing.

    2) A low-level guerilla conflict in certain states begins to metastasize. Think attacks on single-point-of-failure infrastructure. The idea that a bunch of militia men could invade another state is far-fetched. But the idea that a bunch of militia men could knock out key transmission lines for the North East seems likely. For example, key water viaducts leading in the Los Angeles area could be knocked out, and you have riots within a few weeks. In homogenous nation states, these single points of failure typically aren’t under threat because everyone operates under reasonably good faith. Remove that, and it becomes unworkable.

But the Ruling Class religion tells the Ns that the reason they experience less success in life has nothing to do with them as individuals, but rather was completely due to racism by the Ws. And the Ruling Class communicates that to the Ns as an article of faith.

Isn’t this a formula for societal disaster? Could anything be more irresponsible?

Disagree on that one, Drudge or Instapundit had a link to Swedes fleeing Malmo, with all the bombings. Swedes however mostly like the violence. If they didn’t they’d stop now wouldn’t they?

Sweden is not filled with Jews, nor is it filled with European groups (Celts / Scandinavians) who hate each other. They’re all Swedes. But … they are feminist ground zero. White women HATE boring beta maleness, so a bit of bombing type vibrancy makes a thrill up their legs. So to speak. Sweden could say no any time to vibrancy and put the lot into Chinese style “vocational education camps” to find peace. They don’t because THEY LIKE THE VIOLENCE and frankly get a thrill (the women anyway figuring they’ll be squeeze #1 of the new conquerors) out of the violence. China did not tolerate the stabbings and violence by Uighurs now did they?

For my part, I don’t need all-white casts. But it’s also worth saying that all-white casts don’t bother me, and further if there’s a bit of spice thrown in for verisimilitude that’s quite different from enforced race propaganda which is what Hollywood offers for the past few decades now. I sometimes watch TV shows made before I was born and there are sometimes POC characters but it’s by way of natural storytelling, not hitting-us-over-the-head woke proselytizing. Nowadays if any show or movie depicts a blonde woman not fawning over a POC mate it’s grounds for a twitter insurrection.

If Swedes “like the violence” then why do they flee migrant-enriched areas? There is an entire international establishment and media ready to label any Swede who would vote to lower migration a Nazi. This social pressure is why the country is how it is, not the (frankly ridiculous) idea that women want Sweden to have the crime rate of Mogadishu.

The best economy I’ve experienced was the six years under Clinton with Republicans in charge of house and Senate. Take a look at illegal immigrant flow: much lower under Obama than recently under Trump. The problem is the appointment of Elana Kagans and such to the Supreme Court.

Don’t dismiss the idea. Trump has been a disaster for Republicans in off-year elections, in AL senate race, NJ congressional races (only one R left there), and a number of other positions. He has roused the left to anger and vote but done nothing much for the Deplorables to inspire them to vote.

That spells a wipeout in 2020 that can perhaps only be avoided if one of the D candidates who raised hir hand to give free healthcare to illegal aliens actually reinforces that position in debate with Trump on the topic.

“Hasn’t done anything for me besides piss me off far more than I ever was at the Ryan/McCain serpents, and incensed leftists to the insane point where we all go over a cliff.”

He’s gotten the Left to turn out and vote. The Republicans lost the StateSenate in NY last year, and the unleashed Left has put in place even more laws that will drive out the productive class from NY State. It’s shocking, but Andrew Cuomo appears to be rational in this environment.

There’s this glaring contradiction right at the heart of minoritarianism.

    You whites are evil! …
And you must let us *in*–to your schools, your country clubs, your neighborhoods, your nations.

Huh? Why do you so adamantly want to be around us? If we’re so bad?

    ~~

Whenever we get this minoritarianian b.s. throw back the question: “Why are you here?”

The frontier closed for over a century. No immigrant in the last 120 years has come just to get raw land. They’ve come because white Americans had built a *better*–more prosperous, more free–nation than wherever the hell they came from.

Immigration is an admission that we whites–or our ancestors–are simply better people at or have a better culture for creating civilized life, than their people. They should admit it, integrate to it … or go home.

    You have the lame excuses:
    — the Jews’ “we were fleeing oppression”. Peachy. But since 1948, you have the opportunity to live in a pleasant clime with your own people who are eager to have you and roll out the welcome mat. And yet … you won’t leave! Just endlessly, endless kvetch–and slander evil whitey.

    — the blacks’ “we were brought here in chains”. True story. But if we whites are so bad, why do you flee from your own people and run toward us?–our neighborhoods? our schools? Why do you demand “inclusion” rather than separation? Why do you denounce us for getting out of your way with “white flight”.

In contrast, like most whites, i’m perfectly happy living with my own people. (Well, of course, some of them more than others.) I don’t mind some minorities around as long i get to live in a white nation, a white community with white culture. But you don’t see me running arounding demanding the right to live with blacks or Jews or Chinese or Mexicans and have them building stuff for me. I can live perfectly fine without them.

It’s the great minoritarian lie. What we actually see in the real world is a mad rush *toward* whites. Anything whites build, anywhere whites live–the constant minoritarian demand that they be let in to enjoy it, to take it … but that whites be denounced while the looting takes place.

Minoritarianism is the demand for white serfdom. Whatever whites build must be shared with non-whites.

Having lived all over the nation, I can confidently state that the old adage is true: the Southerner doesn’t care how close the black man gets as long as he doesn’t get too high, and for the Northerner, it is the other way around. I never saw de facto racial segregation on the level I saw in major coastal cities in the Deep South, maybe because it was officially de-institutionalized.

This probably isn’t quite as true as it used to be, going in both directions: Southerners can tolerate black leaders as long as they aren’t too offensive to their sensibilities (I think Colin Powell would have easily won Southern states if he ran for POTUS instead of Obama, whose real problem was that he was the absolute epitome of the new American gentry class that drives the Great Unwashed nuts) and Northerners are now more accepting of black people in their neighborhoods as long as they are safe, sanitized middle-class burghers like them.

Diversity — People are inherently different because of their demographics.

Equality — People should achieve proportionate success. i.e. they should succeed as if they are not diverse.

Schrodinger’s cat theory is less convoluted than the Diversequality theology that claims people who are different should succeed as if they weren’t different.

I think VA is lost to the R’s, and Trump did not change much. A lot of residualRepublicans around NYC have been fired since he took office, like suburban county execs. Trump seems to be taking the R’s down a profitable path with many votes: the working class. He will need to pull black working class voters, because the public shaming of Trump supporters is killing the R votes in suburbs near NYC.

  104. @Desiderius

The Republican Senate was the last check on leftist power in NY state. We’ve now got new, improved rent control, a giant middle finger to people moving here from elsewhere. Meanwhile, no cuts in spending appear.
