I’ve got a great idea for a Curb Your Enthusiasm episode: Larry David is about to get into the Express checkout lane at his Brentwood supermarket, but a giant black lady (played by Leslie Jones) with 23 items suddenly cuts from her lane into his, ahead of him.

Larry fumes: “Why don’t you go back where you came from?”

Then it turns out that she’s a publicity-crazed politician, and her tear-stained video about Larry’s hateful xenophobia goes viral.

Soon, Beto O’Rourke and Larry’s own Congressman, Ted Lieu, are denouncing Larry’s Trumpist racism.

Isn’t that perfect for Curb?

What?

That all just happened in real life?

Seriously, later on in this incident, the white guy declared that he wasn’t white, he is Cuban.

#FlightFromWhite.

On this 50th anniversary of the moon landing, I’ve had a vision of the future…

And it’s basically endless Larry David scenarios forever as people deploy their Intersectional Pokemon Points in petty squabbles over checkout lane privilege.

  1. So long as you’re trashing white people, you’re allowed to make up any story you want to. And everyone’s required to believe it. And almost everyone does. They’ve been trained that way.

  2. Paul says:

Today I was verbally assaulted in the grocery store by a white man who told me I was a lazy SOB and to go back to where I came from bc I had to [sic] many items in the express lane.

Why was she in the express lane with too many items?

  3. Helo says:

Fifty years ago we landed on the moon. Today we worry about who landed on black self-esteem.

This is the same MO as the Santa Monica Nike store basketball parents: Just yell and shout over other people so that nobody but you can say anything. Unfortunately, with the press standing there, they are patient and she’s got to know they are going to get his story, even it it takes an hour for her to wind down. Then they’ll make a video editing her part out.

But the tactic of blacks seems to be, I can out-talk you, so I win!

I’ve seen a thing where you repeat what your berater is saying, word for word, as they say it, as with a super synchronized echolalia . This done right can be so annoying that you shut them up. I wonder if anyone can do it or if it is a special tallent. Another tactic is the “Hey hey, ho ho, blah blah blah” chant.

Also, I think that “Go back where you came from” is the new “noose,” in that white people are not obsessed with nooses, nor do they generally go around telling people to go back where they came from (especially to black people, sheesh), so the inclusion of a noose or a “Go back” is a pretty solid tell that the story is fiction. It’s projection of the “victim’s” false beliefs about what would happen to a real victim.

This also a hilarious example of “Do you know who I am?”: Do you KNOW who I AM? I am a member of the Georgia state house of representatives!!!! I can change the official state flower to hibiscus!

  7. Kyle says:

That would make a great episode and Leslie Jones would be perfect in the role. I could also see an episode where Larry has 11 items and is waiting in a really long line, but sees there is nobody in line for the express lane. He goes to the 10 items or less express lane and gets reprimanded by Leslie Jones as the clerk and is forced to chose an item to put back. He is stubborn about which item. He also refuses to return it to the shelf himself.

I have to confess that I miss Mr. Larry David.

  9. @Paul

‘Why was she in the express lane with too many items?’

Because she was black. This would be very typical behavior for them.

  10. I am starting to think that this Publix supermarket dispute may be more important than the Moon Landing in the big picture of things.

For the record, blonde haired Eric Sparkes makes it clear that like Matthew Yglesias “He is CUBAN, NOT WHITE!”

    And I forgot:

This is also another example of “Blacks don’t have to follow white man’s rules, as a component of restitution.”

    — Barbecues in non-barbecue areas

    — Use restaurant seats and bathrooms without buying anything

    — Buy stuff in stores and then take it out of the bag inside the store, refusing to show receipt upon exit

    — Use the express lane anytime, anywhere

    — Sleep in public areas posted otherwise

    — Use community pools where you don’t live

    — Decide that you don’t feel like cooperating with a cop or getting arrested that day (and get shot)

  12. newrouter says:

    I see blond appropriation.

  13. Marty says:

I’m Larry David without the money. I was thrown out of the Corte Madera Safeway in 2009 for complaining when the checker accepted the Sal/Mex lady with about 50 items in the express lane. Sorta got my revenge, as the guy who tossed me (seemingly a manager at the time), these days not only is in charge of rounding up carts in the parking lot, but also has a big limp.

  15. Trump’s attitude seems to be having a trickle-down cultural effect, even among Democrats.

I love that this regular white guy was willing to crash her presser, Andrew Breitbart-style, and argue on camera against her tale of Express Lane hate crimes. Perhaps it’s the beginning of a trend in which normal white people will no longer feel cowed into apologizing for every accusation thrown their way.

P.S., when he said “go back where you came from,” he may have been referring to the regular, non-express line.

P.P.S., I hope no one makes any racist comments about how each 20 oz. bottle of malt liquor shouldn’t count as a separate item, or anything like that.

  16. Item to add to Derb’s talk.

Whenever possible, avoid getting in line behind a black person, or a line where the checker is black.

Now you know what it’s like to be a Jew and dream about having your own country separate and apart from your oppressors. I dream that dream, too. We’re all Zionists now.

BTW, this is almost certainly a lie. An inordinate number of Leftists have been falsely claiming that some white person told them to “go back somewhere” or insulted them in some manner: 1) Pete Butt. lied about his father being called brown (he is indistinguishable from white) and being told to go home; 2) Kamala Harris recounted a similarly unlikely story at that last debate 3) Ted Lieu claimed that someone told him to “go back to China” once and now this …. it’s a copy cat. Same thing happened at the Kavanaugh hearing: some Leftist sent in a false accusation and was forced to recant.

  23. Escher says:

As not what minorities can do for your country, ask what your country can do for minorities.

  24. Pat Boyle says:

I don’t get it. What’s so bad about racism?

Everyone reacts to a charge about racism as if it were something serious – like rape, murder or armed robbery. There are strong penalties against murder and felonious assault. But how can simple racism be considered anywhere near as serious as those crimes.

Most of the time when many people condemn racism they really mean Nazism. I agree – Nazism was a very bad political ideology. But Nazis weren’t particularly interested in race. They hated Jews and the Jews are not a race. Anti-Antisemitism is an ancient hatred that grows out of religious hate. Western European Christians hated Jews as Christ-killers and other religious doctrines for a millennium before race was much of a concern in Europe and America.

Modern Democratic Party leftists think of race in a very odd manner. Some of this derives from the academic Sociologists who are so confuse they think race is a human construct. This is a very anti-scientific notion. Modern Americans, Asians and Europeans generally believe in evolution and Darwin. The only big exception are some religious extremists. But humans are related to the great apes. We are quite close to chimpanzees and not quite as close to gorillas.

Chimps have a handful of races and so do gorillas. It would be strange if humans had no races and all our closest relatives have several clear races.

Race just has never until quite recently been a matter of much concern to human societies. But Americans act as if race and slavery are virtually the same thing. The earth has had slavery roughly between the two big revolutions – The Neolithic Revolution and the Industrial Revolution. Agriculture made keeping slaves economically sensible and the Industrial Revolution took that economic incentive away. In the 6,000 years that major nations had chattel slavery, most of those slaves were white. Only in the last few centuries were most of the biggest slaves populations predominately African.

Most of the modern concern about race is just bad history.

Black grocery shoppers here like to pull out fistfuls of debit cards at the register. Then they try each one, experimenting with various PINs. When all fail, they get on their phone and call several associates, asking for a working PIN. They may get one correct PIN, which allows them to pay for only a portion of the total purchase. So then they pick thru the groceries, selecting whichever items are essential, until the purchase total meets their funds. The store returns the rest to the shelves.

Needless to say, this is a time-consuming process. Needful to say: it happens astonishingly often. The cashiers all have learned to roll with it.

    https://www.pacificpundit.com/2019/02/13/ilhan-omar-arrested-trespassing-2013-mugshot/

The incident took place on January 18, 2013 following an event at the Minneapolis Convention Center featuring former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The Somali president was set to stay the night at the Hotel Ivy, causing large groups of Somalis to follow the presidential convoy to the hotel, including Omar.

According to the police report, hotel staff requested police assistance in clearing the lobby, saying that anyone without a hotel room key was not welcome on the premises and needed to leave immediately. The officer handling the incident said the majority of people who were asked to leave were compliant. However, Omar, when approached, was “argumentative” and refused to leave.

“As she stood her ground and refused to leave I took hold of her left elbow to escort her from the lobby. Omar then pulled away from me stating, ‘Don’t put your hands on me!’ Others in her group complied and began walking toward the front entry/exit door as I ordered and I managed to coax Omar out with them,” the police report reads.

Ten minutes after the original encounter, the officer reports finding Omar seated in a different area of the lobby. According to the officer’s account, Omar “remained defiant” as he informed her that she would be arrested for trespassing if she didn’t leave.

Caesar was certainly coined and we can be reasonably certain that he did not coin the phrase, “Cum Romano Romanus eris”( for those who, like me, don’t speak a lick of Latin, that’s “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”).
According to Wikipedia the median family income in Naples, Florida is around $102,000 and 94% of its population is white and 4.5% is black. So…with respect to our particular Caesar and this particular city, one can be absolutely certain that the former would *not* agree with the saying, “Africa begins at Naples.”

The irony is that while malt liquor is known for being high in alcohol, the IPAs, etc. beloved by modern hipsters are often even higher. But the extra alcohol in malt liquor is created cheaply by adding fermentable sugar to wort instead of relatively expensive barley malt so malt liquor gives you the cheapest bang for your buck and there’s little bitter hops to prevent you from quickly downing the stuff.

Unfortunately the checker hadn’t quite finished with my items when the black woman finally returned, so I had to hear her complain that she’d been grievously wronged by me. It’s virtual signaling an entitlement to divine grace. In Tom Wolfe’s “The Bonfire of the Vanities” there’s a DA prosecutor from the Bronx with a British nanny. The prosecutor and his wife are worried the Brit is more classy than themselves. Then, the nanny complains that American Blacks don’t know how good they have it. The couple’s fears are dashed, she’s a bigot and thus lower on the social sophistication food chain.

It’s one of the most powerful scenes that captures anti-racism smugness and stupidity. The prosecutor takes down Black Bronx denizens every day. The courthouse is filled with blacks all day long “The Chow” for the system. They’re all essentially guilty for rape, murder, and many such crimes. The Bronx is described as a once beautiful Jewish area until the Blacks came along and destroyed it. Yet the Prosecutor is granted a higher moral authority upon hearing those magical words of the nanny.

My best guess is that white SJWs and Boomer Liberals view racism as correlated with low socio/economic class. If you hate the filth, you must live in or near it. Thus the continuous “gotcha” tricks those groups play on each other. If that social attitude reverses though, the majority of those people will flip on a dime. If your a urban liberal, you know blacks are “problematic.”

Many blacks appear to relish forcing whites to experience a bit of inconvenience … or a bit of administrative abuse when circumstances permit. They find it humorous. It’s the new Black Privilege to get a chuckle or two at our experience by exploiting their newfound power. This is now embedded in our culture.

Three cameos within the last year:

    1. A black stocker at a local grocery store was blocking the aisle with his cart. He knew he was blocking the aisle because he looked me straight in the eye with a defiant look, “What are you going to do about it, white guy?” A normal encounter with a stocker blocking the aisle is, “Oops, I’m sorry,” as he relocates his cart.

    2. We were at the airport being directed to a lane for the security check. There were three lanes. The two outside lanes were backed up and the middle lane was empty. The agent directing people into lanes motioned us into one of the backed-up lanes. She was black.

Looking over my shoulder, I wondered why the agent directed us into a lane that was backed up. Oh, I get it. I noticed that the center lane was reserved for POC … blacks to the “front of the bus”, as it were.

    3. My number came up for the interview for Global Entry to expedite going through customs. I was shunted into a cubicle. The agent was an overweight POC. She went down her checklist of questions. “Have you ever been arrested? Have you ever been …?” She questioned every answer I gave, repeatedly accusing me of being a liar and not being aware of the way the world worked.

After it was over, I mentioned to my wife that the agent was hostile and there was no way I would be approved for Global Entry. I was approved … but I’m sure the agent got a chuckle or two over her macro-aggressions toward whites with the full knowledge and confidence she could get away with it.

It’s not an ethnic or race thing. If Asian guy had been black, he’d have insulted the guy’s mother. On average, blacks are just generally more hostile. Other blacks, whites, Hispanics, Asians – you name it – they’ll find a reason to get bent out of shape. It’s not an accident that blacks commit a lopsided number (7x that of whites on a per capita basis, and only if you count Hispanics as white) of murders, mostly against other blacks. That’s what you get from a people that are angry all the time and spend most of their time around other blacks. And it’s not that all blacks are hostile – blacks are just so at a much higher rate than other ethnicities.

So I used my fingernails to remove the library bar code stickers , took them home and put them in the dumpster where they belong.

No, the future is the dissolution of affirmative action thanks to a brown Hispanic majority, and subsequently most blacks will be unable to afford to shop in places most white people shop in.

    Doubt it.

When you have a multicultural “democracy”–even a phony showpiece one like we have–then you’ll have political allocation of everything. It’s baked in.

The idea–that i’ve seen floated by some commenters here–that we can get back to some sort of “meriocratic” or “color blind” policies, is ludicrous. Those things are for beautiful, healthy, sane, one-people nations. Korea or Japan can have such policies, not the US.

What i think is more likely in the coming Hispano heavy US is not “dissolution” of affirmative action but its “dilution”. Many, many hads in the pie, less goodies for blacks, less moralistic preening about slavery and more nakedly political allocation–this for Hispanics, this for blacks, this for Asians, this for good-whites, this for muzzies, this for women, this for queers–and endless contention about the same.

And what also seems likely is that we’ll have imported the Latin racial system, with a mongrel white\Jewish\Asian\Latino but lighter ruling class, ruling over a mongrel white\Latino\jungle-Asian\black somewhat darker proletariat and a heavily black but somewhat black\Latino mongrel lumpen-prole class. (The Indians mute this up a bit, but their numbers aren’t substantial enough to move the overall average class hues much.)

In any case, i agree that they’ll definitely be less black worship as the Jewish-brains\money and black-votes system of the Democrats and “legacy of slavery” moralizing\justification gives way and evolves in a far more Latinoized US.

This is one of Wolfe’s most perfect crystallizations of the zeitgeist; it instantly illuminates a whole landscape of postmodern class consciousness and virtue signaling.

The DA and his wife think they’re sophisticates, but they’re far too provincial to be capable of assessing their Brit nanny’s status.
