Ann Coulter documents a trend (or maybe a tendency, or, I know, a trope!):

NO MORE MR. WHITE GUY
September 26, 2018

“They know the optics of 11 white men questioning Dr. Ford … will be so harmful and so damaging to the GOP.” — Areva Martin, CNN legal analyst

“They understand that you have all of these white men who would be questioning this woman … the optics of it would look terrible.” — Gloria Borger, CNN chief political analyst

“Women across this nation should be outraged at what these white men senators are doing to this woman.” — Rep. John Garamendi, D-Calif.

“There has been some discussion of the GOP senators who happened to all be … white men.” — Jim Sciutto, CNN correspondent

“What troubles me is now there are … they’re all white men.” — Jennifer Granholm, former governor of Michigan, on CNN

”You’re seeing on display a metaphor for what this party is, which is basically ignorant white men.” — “Morning Joe” contributor Donny Deutsch

“All these white men … stumbling all over themselves asking her, you know, aggressive and obnoxious questions.” — Asha Rangappa, CNN analyst

“What are those — that collection of old white men going to do?” — Cynthia Alksne, MSNBC contributor

“If she testifies in front of the Judiciary Committee, where 11 members are white men …” — Susan Del Percio, Republican political strategist, on MSNBC

“Once again, it will be all white men on the Republican side of the Judiciary Committee.” — CNN anchor Poppy Harlow

“The optics for Republicans are going to be really tricky … You’ve got all white men on the Republican side here …” — Julie Pace, Washington bureau chief for The Associated Press, on CNN

“The Republicans, it happens to be 11 white men still on that side.” — CNN host John Berman

“The Republicans, it is 11 white men, talk to me about how you think the tone inside this hearing on Monday will be perceived?” — Berman, a few minutes later

“On the Republican side, all 11 are white men.” — Berman, again, same show, several minutes later

“What hasn’t changed is the number of white men questioning, certainly, on the Republican side.” — Dana Bash, CNN chief political correspondent

“The Republican side on the Senate Judiciary Committee is all white men …” — Irin Carmon, senior correspondent for New York Magazine, on MSNBC

“Only this crowd of clueless old white guys …” — The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin on Twitter

“I was not in Newport, haven’t been on a boat in Newport. Not with Mark Judge on a boat, nor all those three things combined,” Judge Kavanaugh said. “This is just completely made up, or at least not me. I don’t know what they’re referring to.”

He pre-emptively added a response to the fifteen new allegations scheduled to be revealed in press releases all throughout tomorrow and Friday:

I did not rape her on a boat
I did not make her blow a goat
I did not rape her here or there
I did not rape her anywhere!
I never raped a girl or man

  26. The people defending Kavanaugh tend to be those that were upwardly mobile in life. E.g. Amy Chua and J.D. Vance. The people trying to tear him down seem to be downwardly mobile. E.g. upper class white women who had all the advantages but ended up a professor at a third tier college (I lived in SV and I’ve never heard of Palo Alto University) in what is being shown to be a pseudoscientific discipline (psychology) with very little research output (check google scholar–CBF is not exactly a research dynamo.)

Of course we’ll never know but I suspect Ms. Ford has been casting around for a reason that her life turned out…kinda disappointing. She probably genuinely believes it’s because she was groped all those years ago. The alternative explanation is too painful to contemplate.

    Black rapper: ‘Hang white people’

A young French rapper has made it into the headlines with a graphic music video calling for white people to be killed. And while he’s shot to fame, with it has come widespread outrage and an investigation into his “art”.

The video features violent scenes of the rapper, Nick Conrad, and another black man torturing and killing a white male. The duo give the man a chance to escape, telling him to run fast – “as the blacks do” – then shoot him in the back for being too slow. Conrad then forces the white man to bite a kerbstone and stomps on his head, in an apparent reference to the movie American History X. The victim is then seen hanged from a post behind the rapper and his sidekicks.

The graphic footage is accompanied by equally shocking lyrics, with Conrad rapping “I go to nurseries and kill white babies” while hanging their parents “to entertain black kids of all ages.”

    You should.

In the meantime, I’d like to see you replace a friendly courtesy with an icy civility when interacting with left-wing women. Too many of you still reflexively give all women the benefit of the doubt because you still anachronistically think of them as ladies.

Just one example. You’d be surprised how effectively an expressionless face creates distance and even discomfort while being its own defence against any criticism. “I’m not going to disrespect a woman by smiling at her if I would not smile at someone of another gender in the same circumstances.”

There are other blameless ways to make a woman aware she cannot count on your gallantry. Start employing them. You can’t help being a white man. But there’s no need to add folly to your misfortune by being a white knight, too.

This smells like a variation on the hate hoax phenomenon:

    https://www.nytimes.com/2018/09/26/us/politics/kiah-morris-vermont.html

Kiah Morris, the only African-American woman in the Vermont House of Representatives, announced her resignation on Tuesday, a month after she ended her re-election bid because of what she described as a yearslong campaign of racially motivated harassment and threats.

The article quickly reveals that her husband just had open-heart surgery, which seems like a possible reason to quit that isn’t pursued by the Times.

“There was vandalism within our home,” she said. “We found there were swastikas painted on the trees in the woods near where we live. We had home invasions.”

“It has come and gone and in different waves, but then it picked back up again and of course we are back in an election season so there’s always more,” she said.

But she declined to provide a timeline or detailed information about the events that led her to end her campaign and resign from office, saying she did not want “the glossy minutiae” of her case to distract from larger issues of systemic racism.

I am having a really hard time with this line of questioning, and I apologize,” she said. “I feel very resistant to get into the details of what we are talking about.”

Are swastikas now an anti-black thing? Hitler and his black extermination camps?

Were there police reports? Is the media afraid to follow up on this and ask the cops?

Her husband, James Lawton, has documented some of the harassment on his Facebook page. Much is in the form of social media posts that use foul or racist language and images.

Her husband knows how to make a screen capature, but he can’t take a photo of home invasion vandalism?

Bernie believes: “No person should be fearful of their safety because of the color of their skin,” Senator Bernie Sanders said.

The attorney general of Vermont, T.J. Donovan, announced on Aug. 27 that his office would investigate reports of threats and harassment against Ms. Morris. Paul Doucette, the chief of the Bennington Police Department, said he was not able to comment on the case, adding that he did not think the department had “done anything wrong.”

Whoops! I guess some of those “lines of questioning” and “details” will indeed come out. Unless the attorney general ends up doing the infinite stall.

So, in other words, you can’t hold down a full-time job and serve in the Vermont legislature? It seems like the legislature would be full of not-quite-on-welfare types and the retired wealthy, with no normal middleclass people. Depending on the timing of the sessions, it could be a good job for mountain climbers who spend climbing season in the Himalayas, and work odd jobs the rest of the time. Or a good job for surfers who can stand cooler weather.

I assume you have grasped that “Palo Alto University” is not really a university. A real university has courses on things like history, literature, economics, math, physics, etc.

But, if you want a bachelor’s degree from PAU, the plan is:

Palo Alto University’s undergraduate programs are designed for transfer students who wish to complete their psychology or business degree at an institution focused on psychology and the intersection of psychology and social action and psychology and business…. PAU enables students to complete their degree in just two years

I.e., you do your real university courses somewhere else and then, you transfer to PAU and just spend two years at PAU! (By the way, the two years at PAU are not cheap.)

But, the real punchline is that PAU lists among its “campus addresses,” a Cupertino campus:

    DeAnza College Campus
    21250 Stevens Creek Blvd.
    Cupertino, CA 95014

Anyone who knows the Palo Alto area knows that De Anza is simply the local public two-year community college!

But PAU lists it as one of PAU’s campuses.

PAU was a bit more honest up until 2009 , when it was known as the “Pacific Graduate School of Psychology.”

This is where Christine Ford is a “professor.”

You can’t spend more than a few minutes on the Bennington Evangelical College campus without being overwhelmed by the anti-black racism of its students’ toxic white hostility. There’s a plaque by the subway to mark where a white man tumbled Ta-Nehisi Coates’s son down the escalator. If you’re a woman or a Person of Color, keep windows up and doors locked anywhere within town limits.

Democracy demands that we have an informed electorate that can make subtle choices between alternatives on issues like what is the best way for central government to address the financing of health care for the families of the self employed in a continental nation of different climates, racial groups, and cultures.

But today it is all about the ‘optics’ of having white men questioning a white woman who is making allegations about what a white man did when he was a white teenager living like her in an era of wild white teenage parties in the white suburbs of Washington.

“You can’t question me, because you are an old white man, and I am a middle aged white woman and you might remind me of my daddy asking questions when I came home at 5:00 a.m. from innocent teenage parties.”

I didn’t know there were supposed to be ANY non-white people in Vermont, much less black women in the legislature. I guess I need to keep up. Still, that’s really about the worst place in the Continental US to pull a hate-hoax. I mean, you can’t even buy Swastickers at the Dollar Tree, like you can where I live. If they’ve got ‘em at all up there in Bennington, it’s probably at one of those high-priced shoppes, where you pay 50% more for those 50% more characters in the store name (those big lighted plastic letters aren’t cheap.).

I stopped in Montpelier one morning long ago to buy a postcard. I wasn’t in the drugstore for 5 minutes, but I had a parking ticket. I ripped it into 16 pieces and left them on the road, since it was a rental car. Then I drove literally* 3 blocks to the post office buy a stamp, write out the card and mail it. When I came out there was another ticket on the windshield that I ripped up and also left on the road. Otherwise, it was a pretty good trip, though I about froze my ass trying to sleep in the car in the White Mountains in a light snowstorm.

Democracy demands that we have an informed electorate that can make subtle choices between alternatives on issues like what is the best way for central government to address the financing of health care for the families of the self employed in a continental nation of different climates, racial groups, and cultures.

If by democracy you mean universal suffrage, there has never been a democratic system that could could even come close to meeting such demands. Government — democratic or otherwise — lends itself to corruption-prone, personality-driven, and self-serving means and ends.

People with backgrounds in academic psychology tend to go into things like counseling and administration, or in academia or research, which usually doesn’t get a lot of funding because it’s mostly surveying people, not dealing with pharmaceuticals or expensive equipment. The sort of knowledge and skills that people should learn to be prepared to be decent citizens and handle some sort of white collar employment are easy to learn in High School or can be taught and tested on-line.

Like everything else this issue is way below cutting off immigration. But it is yet another issue where a serious conservative/nationalist party should be offering solutions to help citizens and harass their enemies.

Getting a program of national competency exams started–everything from basic literacy, US history/government, reading interpreting data in graphs … through basic algebra, financial math, stats, calculus, the sciences and core sort of BA level knowledge in various disciplines. Then have the US government exclusively hire off those exams.

The more you can disconnect young people from “universities”–especially the BA indoctrination–the better off you are. It makes sense for some STEM folks to be on a campus with labs to really go all in, and for some folks who really want to be scholars. But for most folks its a huge amount of wasted money, plus indoctrination.

Kill lots of colleges, lots of BA indoctrination, in the process take away lots of parasite jobs. Better less propagandized citizens; fewer parasites; faster, better and cheaper education, leading to earlier family formation and higher fertility. This is WIN, WIN, WIN.

All true, but it runs up against the ‘entitlement mentality’ and ‘free stuff’.

Right now the system is set up to give anyone who’s breathing several years of free vacation at the party school of their choice, and if you can’t parlay that into an executive vice-presidency at a Fortune 500 company upon graduation, you can sue to avoid paying back the loans.

As you know, plans are in the works now to ‘forgive’ all student debt, and repayment is already subject to various partial-payment schemes that didn’t exist a couple of decades ago.

There’s a reason Dems run on ‘entitlement mentality’ and ‘free stuff’ platforms. They sell to the ignorant masses–why not?–and Dems have been importing more ignorant masses by the tens of millions.

Getting a program of national competency exams started–everything from basic literacy, US history/government, reading interpreting data in graphs … through basic algebra, financial math, stats, calculus, the sciences and core sort of BA level knowledge in various disciplines. Then have the US government exclusively hire off those exams.

Can’t do it without overturning “disparate impact” law and diversity requirements.

Which is why everything back to the 1965 CRA needs to be abolished, stat!  (Back through Brown to Shelley vs. Kraemer would be even better.)

Just a hint and you can lose your job, your friends, your family, even your freedom in many places. So–however satisfying it may be to bloviate on one of the few internet forums where freedom of speech is honored, it doesn’t have much to do with the real world in which most of us live our actual lives.

This doesn’t mean you’re wrong in what you say–not at all. There’s no need to insult such large swatches of our fellow Americans, even if they do make us wonder sometimes. I’m not sure what sort of “repercussions” beyond being publicly humiliated would be necessary or appropriate. It seems to me that the system is working exactly as it should. Even if you genuinely believe you have been raped, by which I mean you believe you made it clear enough that you were not consenting to sex, you still don’t accuse men unless you can prove it, precisely because you know you’ll be put through the ringer.

Steve blogged about an article that said that 6 sexual assault allegations were investigated and dismissed at Harvard in a year. Assuming the accused in each case was a different person, a male undergrad at Harvard has less than a 1/500 chance (.002) of being accused of rape and exonerated after a fair adjudication. I was actually very surprised it was that low, given that about 2% of the male population is psychopathic.

Now perhaps Harvard is unrepresentative, but based on these numbers, I think Whiskey’s hysteria is unwarranted to say that least.

The Left gets away with so much that would be devastating to them politically in a sane world. But they succeed because they are winning the demographic battle.

What matters is that they’re winning the cultural battle. Most people, including most white people, accept virtually the entire liberal agenda. Most “conservatives” accept virtually the entire liberal agenda.

There is no effective opposition because virtually all whites and virtually all conservatives accept the core beliefs of feminism, they accept the wonderfulness and awesomeness of homosexuality, they refuse to question the ubiquity of slut culture, they refuse to question the wisdom of having society flooded by porn.

The demographic battle is neither here nor there. The fact is that a society that has embraced degeneracy and decadence simply cannot and will not survive. And should not survive.

Apparently you’ve never heard of the Rape Shield Law, among other things. Not only is it prohibited to put women “through the ringer” they’re not even permitted to be identified, much less ‘publicly humiliated’. It supersedes constitutional protections which traditionally protected defendants. It’s also one of several reasons why the Innocence Project has freed more men from false convictions of sexual-assault crimes than all other types of crime combined.

This sperg-talk about what words “really mean” is interesting but irrelevant. Words mean whatever powerful people say they mean.

I do think however that there’s a difference between the South and everywhere else on this particular issue. There it retains its original non-controversial meaning, and everybody – even blacks – uses it casually without provocative intent. “Crazy n-word”, “stupid n-word”, “lazy n-word” – these are insults. “N-word” by itself is little more offensive than “dude” or “guy”.

That’s up to you, but I assure you, it’s not the serious ones who ignore me. Rather, it’s the dishonorable ones who refuse to admit they’re wrong, ever, under any circumstances.

Rape Shield laws do not prohibit defense attorneys from putting women through the ringer. The defense attorneys job, as Jack Donovan explained elsewhere, is precisely to destroy an alleged rape victim’s credibility. Rape shield laws are a narrow exception to the general rule that criminal defendants may introduce character evidence against adverse witnesses, which is itself an exception to the general rule against character evidence, which is viewed as more prejudicial than probative. If this seems unfair to you, consider that defendants are also protected by rules against character evidence, for policy reasons that should be obvious to anyone who has seriously considered the issue.

The Innocence Project is exonerating men based on DNA evidence. These men were not falsely convicted because of the Rape Shield Laws, but rather pseudoscientific “expert testimony” that had nothing to do with women.

If anyone is aware of any relevant cases that indicate that Rape Shield Laws are responsible for wrongful convictions. I would very much like to see them, and I don’t mean that in a smart-ass way.
