From CNN:

Air Force Academy hoax doesn’t change overall picture on hate crimes

By Frida Ghitis
Updated 6:52 PM ET, Thu November 9, 2017

Frida Ghitis says the finding that an Air Force Academy prep school incident was a hoax doesn’t invalidate the message of Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria’s viral anti-racism speech

Frida Ghitis, a former CNN producer and correspondent, is a world affairs columnist. She is a frequent Opinion contributor to CNN and The Washington Post and a columnist for World Politics Review. The opinions expressed in this commentary are her own.

(CNN)Americans on the far right could hardly contain their excitement, judging by their effusive comments on social media. A widely publicized incident, which appeared to have been a hate crime, turned out to have been a hoax. It was time to celebrate for extremists, and for others who have joined President Donald Trump in claiming that anyone whose message they dislike is a purveyor of “fake news.”

The incident in question occurred in late October [sic, actually September] at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, when someone wrote ugly graffiti outside the dorm room of black cadets in the Academy’s prep school, scrawling messages including, “Go home N–.” In response, the head of the Academy, Lt. Gen. Jay Silveria, summoned everyone there for a stirring speech, a defense of tolerance and civility that quickly went viral. “If you can’t treat someone with dignity and respect,” he told them, “then get out.”

The speech has garnered well over a million views — and for good reason. It is a passionate defense of America’s true values. Everyone should watch it.

That remains absolutely true even after the school revealed this week that the offensive graffiti was written by an African-American cadet, one of the students it was supposed to have targeted. “The individual admitted responsibility,” has “received administrative punishment” and is no longer attending the preparatory school, according to the Academy.

In the porous logic of prejudice, hoaxes are leveraged to undermine any and all claims of racist attacks.

I was one of the people who wrote about Gen. Silveria’s speech and, not surprisingly, I was called upon to “retract” my article by a number of people on social media. But I find little, if anything, to retract in what I wrote. The news definitely demands updating the story. But I still believe the most powerful lesson from what occurred remains unchanged:

Silveria’s speech went viral because Americans are yearning to hear a message of inclusion and tolerance from their leaders. That is true no matter what caused the general to call an all-hands meeting that day at the Air Force Academy.

And it’s no secret why there’s such a hunger for principled, enlightened leadership. The reason is that the election of President Donald Trump lifted the rock under which much of the hatred had hidden, allowing it to squirm out into the light. …

Regardless of who wrote the racist messages at the Air Force Academy, Gen. Silveria’s message remains as valid today as it ever was.

… Far right groups like to dismiss all such accusations, brandishing the hoaxes as evidence that any person or organization with which they disagree lacks credibility. But there was no false reporting on the Air Force Academy case. Graffiti was found, a speech was given, and when the perpetrator was discovered it was reported. Gen. Silveria says his speech is as valid and necessary today as it was six weeks ago. He’s absolutely right.

Racists may rejoice in the discovery of a hoax. The rest of us can rejoice in seeing the message of tolerance and civility winning the battle of ideas.

  2. Even if the story hadn’t fallen apart it would still reflect horribly on the general. Basically he would have been admitting that he obliviously lets racists enroll in the highly competitive Air Force Academy and doesn’t do anything about it until they start running amok.

Aren't they supposed to let in racists, with the understanding that they keep it bottled up inside?

Because if that was a disqualifier, they'd shut down for lack of whites. (All whites being racist by definition.)

The AFA is the actual Academy. The prep school is (mainly) for potential scholarship athletes to get their grades up and their sh*t together before enrolling in the main Academy. Think of it as a redshirt year for those not smart or diligent or strong enough.

In a sane world, Silveria would be shitcanned, the prep school terminated as a vehicle for lower IQ athletes to "assimilate" and college football programs should be spun off into semi-pro paid "franchises" of the colleges they represent.

That was not a hoax. That was hate speech. The other cadets who were falsely accused of writing it paid a real price, and until the guy was discovered, his hate speech achieved the desired effect.

Why does Frida ignore some hate speech, but condemn others?

In fact, by merely writing it off as a hoax, she is condoning it.

I don't think they need, or have, many Whites. That preparatory school is for candidates who don't qualify for entry to the Academy. They call it remedial education, but what it actually is, is a means to enroll "student-athletes" for their sports teams. Actual learning is not required.

So where is the push-back? This will continue until FEAR alone makes it stop. Relying on good will or social forces is a fool’s errand. Anti-White hatred of (White men) is organic. Its not “the (((((((JEWS))))))) or whatever, its the organic hatred of White women who are ordinary and all they get is ordinary White men. Instead of the fantasy stuff peddled by the female-centric ad supported media that caters to their every wish.

If men ran the US we’d have Open Borders … to ultra hot Eastern European women. Not camels in tents and various frothing at the mouth jihadis. That we have the latter is proof of the female-orientation of our society. White women were relatively happy with their lot … there was a slight but persistent inequality in favor of men that provided enough sexy dominance mixed with beta male dutiful qualities that provided for nuclear family formation. Now women have carousel Alphas who don’t commit (to ordinary women anyway, Giselle Bundchen is another matter) and the bitter consolation of some near incel beta at age 37.

Thus Anti-White male hatred is not going away any time soon — its getting stronger every day. Its not like non-Whites are declining in the US as percentages of the population or absolute numbers either — and high birthrates are something Whites outside Israel cannot do because it requires either young marriage rates or social endorsement of teen unmarried pregnancy. [TFR is simple -- the sooner women/girls have babies the more they can have. It does not require a house and yard -- twelve year old Somali girls and thirteen year old Honduran girls are quite willing to have babies without one. Whites requiring higher levels of parental investment are a different story.]

It would be wise to push-back on CNN by filing lawsuits as class action for encouraging Racial Hatred of White men. The lawsuit is the punishment; not any chance at victory which an anti-White judiciary will make sure never happens. Its harassment right back, but its all we have at the moment so I would say let us do that.

Well, it is in part the Jews, but you have converted many a mind around here that Nice White Ladies are a - if not "the" - major problem.

I live in a NWL stronghold - the DC area. They are all either stay-at-moms or work for the government or HR. They are secure in their income and live in very white areas. Reality isn't an issue for them but proving their moral superiority is very much on the radar.

They take their cues from the media (and here we return to influential Jews, Whiskey). The media is their reality. NWLs will not change their tune so long as reality reality doesn't interfere with media reality. It's why the richer the NWL, the more PC they become.

No, things will have to get a lot worse before upper-middle class white women start to wake up.

For example, my wife - who is only partially a NWL - says the same thing every time there is a Muslim terrorist attack: "What's wrong with people (without ever acknowledging which people)?"

When I reply, "They're Muslim. This is what they do," she frowns and ignores my comment. She's know that I'm right, but she also knows that saying such things is social suicide in our area and among her friends. She also knows that other parents would quite literally not let their kids play with ours if they heard me speak honestly.

For upper middle-class women, who are above all else social creatures who don't want to rock the boat, the path is clear. Also, the media reality feels nicer and women at the end of the day want a "nice" world.

This really isn't women's fault. The majority - really, the vast majority of them - aren't designed to think in the way that you need to think to maintain a society. They are the tender side of the species, which is great and necessary. But you need the hardheaded side to make societal decisions. Giving women the vote doomed us, just as turning over the rasing of children exclusively to men would not be a good idea.

I just don't see any way out of this mess except for things to get a lot worse.

For the USAFA Prep from 2006-2009 they had 940 enrolled. 21% Black, 48% total minority, 20% female, 39% recruited athletes, 20% prior enlisted. The USMAPS and NAPS were fairly similar.

The paper also contains graduation numbers. For USAFA Prep most groups graduated at a rate of ~60%. Whites were lowest at 50%.

So the fact this incident was a hoax, i.e. fake, doesn’t take away from the fact that there is a real problem. Just like the fact the memo in Dan Rather’s 2004 expose was forged doesn’t change the fact that Bush lied about his national guard service.

However, when our side reports something that turns out to be not 100 percent correct, it invalidates our entire position. Recall when Trump tweeted about “last night in Sweden” and received blowback because apparently nothing had happened last night in Sweden. The fact there was a little riot in Sweden a couple days later was irrelevant to them because it did not happen on the night Trump referenced.

I actually agree that the truth or falsehood of this particular incident doesn’t really impact the overall picture of actual violent crime, as opposed to mean words which, shockingly, our troglodyte system of common and constitutional law does not yet consider a crime. Namely, that overall violent crime is overwhelmingly nonwhite and, to the extent it crosses racial lines, nonwhite (mainly black)-on-white.

The vast majority of them will always choose the former, because it's just in their DNA to defer to the members of the pack who are more dominant.

The campaign of soft genocide has gotten a lot more intense here lately. Given the trends, it's entirely conceivable that in the near future, mainstream opinion will hold that it's racist for white people to have children with other white people, and that white people are obligated to become extinct for the greater good. Extremists already believe this, and what they believe today, everyone believes tomorrow.

Well sure, but they’re already enjoying major success with a “soft” slow motion genocide. If the slow motion genocide is allowed to continue, we will be eliminated. So why would they change at this point?

Because all the pathways for the evolution of virulence are wide open. Virulence is evolving at an exponential rate.

The prep school was originally set up as a way for promising young enlisted people to get in to the Academy and become officers. Supervisors would identify enlisted men who showed intelligence and leadership, then these candidates would attend the prep school to get up to speed academically for the real Academy. Naturally the types of men in the prep school back then would never be a disciplinary problem. When I was serving the Air Force had mostly transitioned to a program in which enlisted people would be taken off of their former assignments and sent as students to regular universities to get degrees, in exchange for signing up to serve at least six years after graduating.
The academy prep schools are one reason you are now seeing the academies with so many aflete-scholars and competitive teams that no longer get beaten 54-10 by Boston College.
Another site has identified the culprit in this case. Apparently he has transferred to the football program at some obscure college in the South.

So the fact this incident was a hoax, i.e. fake, doesn't take away from the fact that there is a real problem. Just like the fact the memo in Dan Rather's 2004 expose was forged doesn't change the fact that Bush lied about his national guard service.

However, when our side reports something that turns out to be not 100 percent correct, it invalidates our entire position. Recall when Trump tweeted about "last night in Sweden" and received blowback because apparently nothing had happened last night in Sweden. The fact there was a little riot in Sweden a couple days later was irrelevant to them because it did not happen on the night Trump referenced.

Just like the fact the memo in Dan Rather’s 2004 expose was forged doesn’t change the fact that Bush lied about his national guard service.

There is no ‘fact’. Bush didn’t lie about his Guard service.

Such a dumb broad — actually, us “racists” don’t “rejoice” when some incident is revealed to be a hoax — we are pissed off by hoaxes, as well of course by the media’s (over-)reaction to the initial report (which is why these hoaxes are perpetrated in the first place) — the fact the media doesn’t relent even after a particular incident has been shown to be a hoax is not surprising — but we’re not pissed off by being called “racists” — not anymore — we’re OK with that.

Yes, yes, just so! And what did occur?

Not a hate crime, but a hoax. A hoax occurred. And what “powerful lesson” should one draw from that? Please, think on, girl. Carry it through.

A nitpick and personal twitch here. She says, “Gen. Silveria says his speech is as valid and necessary today as it was six weeks ago. He’s absolutely right.”

When will these supposedly college-edumacated people learn the difference between “valid” and “true”?

“Valid” means the argument is structured according to the generally accepted rules of Logic. In algebra, if A < B and B < C then A < C is a valid statement. This says nothing about the World of Things. We can substitute cantaloupes, limes and watermelons (taking < to mean "smaller than") into this formula in whatever combination we choose. One of those combinations will be "True". The others, while perfectly valid, will not be true.

The General's speech may or may not be "valid" to use her term (I don't care to take the trouble to examine it), but even if it is, that doesn't mean it's true.

So where is the push-back? This will continue until FEAR alone makes it stop. Relying on good will or social forces is a fool's errand. Anti-White hatred of (White men) is organic. Its not "the (((((((JEWS))))))) or whatever, its the organic hatred of White women who are ordinary and all they get is ordinary White men. Instead of the fantasy stuff peddled by the female-centric ad supported media that caters to their every wish.

If men ran the US we'd have Open Borders ... to ultra hot Eastern European women. Not camels in tents and various frothing at the mouth jihadis. That we have the latter is proof of the female-orientation of our society. White women were relatively happy with their lot ... there was a slight but persistent inequality in favor of men that provided enough sexy dominance mixed with beta male dutiful qualities that provided for nuclear family formation. Now women have carousel Alphas who don't commit (to ordinary women anyway, Giselle Bundchen is another matter) and the bitter consolation of some near incel beta at age 37.

Thus Anti-White male hatred is not going away any time soon -- its getting stronger every day. Its not like non-Whites are declining in the US as percentages of the population or absolute numbers either -- and high birthrates are something Whites outside Israel cannot do because it requires either young marriage rates or social endorsement of teen unmarried pregnancy.

Well, it is in part the Jews, but you have converted many a mind around here that Nice White Ladies are a – if not “the” – major problem.

I live in a NWL stronghold – the DC area. They are all either stay-at-moms or work for the government or HR. They are secure in their income and live in very white areas. Reality isn’t an issue for them but proving their moral superiority is very much on the radar.

They take their cues from the media (and here we return to influential Jews, Whiskey). The media is their reality. NWLs will not change their tune so long as reality reality doesn’t interfere with media reality. It’s why the richer the NWL, the more PC they become.

No, things will have to get a lot worse before upper-middle class white women start to wake up.

For example, my wife – who is only partially a NWL – says the same thing every time there is a Muslim terrorist attack: “What’s wrong with people (without ever acknowledging which people)?”

When I reply, “They’re Muslim. This is what they do,” she frowns and ignores my comment. She’s know that I’m right, but she also knows that saying such things is social suicide in our area and among her friends. She also knows that other parents would quite literally not let their kids play with ours if they heard me speak honestly.

For upper middle-class women, who are above all else social creatures who don’t want to rock the boat, the path is clear. Also, the media reality feels nicer and women at the end of the day want a “nice” world.

This really isn’t women’s fault. The majority – really, the vast majority of them – aren’t designed to think in the way that you need to think to maintain a society. They are the tender side of the species, which is great and necessary. But you need the hardheaded side to make societal decisions. Giving women the vote doomed us, just as turning over the rasing of children exclusively to men would not be a good idea.

I just don’t see any way out of this mess except for things to get a lot worse.

Speaking of Big College Sports, I'm disgusted to see this story: Three UCLA basketball players are leaving China, returning home

Trump got them off the hook by directly lobbying Xi on their behalf. The article makes no mention of what happened to what seemed to be solid charges against them, or in fact of any consequences for the players whatsoever; it's 'not yet determined' what UCLA will do about it. I'm not holding my breath.

College sports in the USA need to take a hit, just like the NFL. This article provides one good way to get started: Go ahead, Republicans. Tax college sports.

It would also be nice if the deep-pocketed and absurdly loyal donor class that props up the whole college sports superstructure would come to their senses and just stop it, already.

What would be so terrible about just having regular students play for their colleges instead of the scholarship programs with big budgets, etc.?

I love sports, but football is such a mess.

They really should have a minor league and get the players out of colleges. It is not fair to players or to most of the students in the colleges.

I don’t think Michigan, Wisconsin, Cal Berkeley,Stanford, Northwestern, Vanderbilt, or Duke are about to follow the example of the U. of Chicago and field Division III tems. Especially the state schools.
Maybe one of them might some day.

"...college football programs should be spun off into semi-pro paid “franchises” of the colleges they represent."

Right on! The Division I schools would be the new Acme Packing companies, or A. O. Staleys, and the players would carry reduced academic loads.

Speaking of Big College Sports, I’m disgusted to see this story: Three UCLA basketball players are leaving China, returning home

Trump got them off the hook by directly lobbying Xi on their behalf. The article makes no mention of what happened to what seemed to be solid charges against them, or in fact of any consequences for the players whatsoever; it’s ‘not yet determined’ what UCLA will do about it. I’m not holding my breath.

Frida Ghitis is not so tolerant of Palestinians nor is she anti-racist when it comes to the Jews and her homeland:

ISRAEL’S RIGHT TO EXIST IS NONNEGOTIABLE

Whether Palestinians like it or not, Israel already is the national state of the Jewish people.

Same goes for White Americans: whether you like it or not, the USA is not your country, it too belongs to the Jewish people to rule over as they see fit.

    Every. Single. Time. Again.

Because the left needs hoaxes badly to pretend whites are the problem in the face of overwhelming criminal statistics for blacks.

Racists may rejoice in the discovery of a hoax.

Such a dumb broad -- actually, us "racists" don't "rejoice" when some incident is revealed to be a hoax -- we are pissed off by hoaxes, as well of course by the media's (over-)reaction to the initial report (which is why these hoaxes are perpetrated in the first place) -- the fact the media doesn't relent even after a particular incident has been shown to be a hoax is not surprising -- but we're not pissed off by being called "racists" -- not anymore -- we're OK with that.

Well said, I live in the same area and you are exactly right. These NWLs put on their CNN opinions like they put on their clothes.

I don't think they need, or have, many Whites. That preparatory school is for candidates who don't qualify for entry to the Academy. They call it remedial education, but what it actually is, is a means to enroll "student-athletes" for their sports teams. Actual learning is not required.

I posted about the demographics of the USAFA prep school when this first came up: http://www.unz.com/isteve/air-force-academy-cadets-terrorized-by-racist-marauders-who-dont-technically-exist/#comment-2027042

Ms Ghitis (I assume it's the same one) also writes for the Atlanta Jewish Times (Keeping Jewish Southeast Connected):

    http://atlantajewishtimes.timesofisrael.com/topic/frida-ghitis/

And it seems that Ms Ghitis is deeply concerned about Europe's blind spot on anti-Semitism.

Yes, antisemitism is v. bad in Europe because of all those redneck Trump-supporters. I mean, chav Brexit-supporters. And Le-Pen supporters, AfD supporters, et al. And we ought to be concerned about anti-semitism. As Mark Steyn points out: Jews are the canary in the coalmine. Today it's Jews under attack -- tomorrow Rotherham might suffer some bad stuff because of the haters. Hard to believe that anything bad could ever happen in a nowheresville like Rotherham, I know, but believe me: Jews are the canary in the coalmine.

At this point, I would say that the American Left is probably capable of anything, including an attempt at “hard” (ie, violent) genocide.

Well sure, but they're already enjoying major success with a "soft" slow motion genocide. If the slow motion genocide is allowed to continue, we will be eliminated. So why would they change a this point? There are some (((adults in the room))) on the other side who will ensure they don't go "hard" genocide, because that would be riskier than staying the course.

Because all the pathways for the evolution of virulence are wide open. Virulence is evolving at an exponential rate.

These are the people with the big weapons. They control the largest, most deadly tools on earth. And they hate white Americans with an unquenchable Fire.

The second amendment really means nothing when the people who want to crush you have toys such as our military does.

Whenever I’m discouraged in the way you are at the moment, I think of officers I know who would not stand for such crushing.
