  1. Shorter Shikha: America solved its mass immigration problem in the early 20th century, but now politicians are repeating the mistakes of the past and approaching those historic mass immigration levels. Trump wants to stop them.

Also notice how the “diversity” burden that partly fuels this immigration orgy doesn’t apply to newcomers with their clan loyalties. I had a bit of a beef with a crappy telecom company, and it soon dawned on me that everyone in the place was a subcontinental Indian. Few say anything about this trend; reflects the adage noted here that 100% diverse means 100% non-White.

Judge rejects citizenship question for 2020 U.S. census

NEW YORK (Reuters) – A federal judge on Tuesday rejected the Trump administration’s plan to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census questionnaire.

U.S. District Judge Jesse Furman in Manhattan said the 18 U.S. states, 15 cities and various civil rights groups that challenged Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross’ addition of the question proved it was more likely than not that they would be harmed if it were added.

Furman also said Ross’s decision to add the question was “arbitrary and capricious” and violated federal law, despite a lack of proof that the commerce secretary was motivated by discriminatory intent.

The Commerce Department and the White House were not immediately available for comment.

Ross had proposed reinstating the citizenship question last March 26, ostensibly at the request of the U.S. Department of Justice to better police potential voter discrimination.

Critics, however, said the question was intended to frighten immigrants into not being counted, and disproportionately harm Democratic-leaning communities by costing them political representation and billions of dollars of federal aid.

The administration has said using more precise citizenship data is needed to enforce federal voting rights laws.

Trump, a Republican, has pursued policies to limit legal and illegal immigration.

There are hundreds of millions of industrious migrants yearning to breathe free & breed free. Let them come to enrich America. To oppose your replacement is racist, and won’t be tolerated.”

  12. Of course, when Shikha Dalmia’s cousins all get here, they will, in turn, write NYT opeds demanding even more immigration because not all of _their_ cousins have arrived yet. And so on ad infinitum.

  13. istevefan says:

In America, by contrast, there are about 44 million foreign-born people who now constitute about 13.7 percent of the population, according to the Pew Research Foundation. This is close to the historic high of 15 percent at the turn of the 20th century.

Some things to point out. First, there are 44 million foreign-born people WHO ARE ALIVE in the USA right now. This is not the same as the number of people who have come since 1965, about 60 million in total, because some have already lived their lives and died.

Second, this sum of 44 million foreign-born who are alive, and the 60 million or so who have come since 1965, does NOT include their descendants.

Third, the notion that since the foreign-born population is ONLY at 13.7%, shy of the record high 15%, we still have room for more is the wrong way to look at it. The population of the USA in 1900 was 76 million. Today it is over 325 million. So obviously a larger number of foreign-born people would account for a smaller percentage today since our population is so much larger.

But, here is where that is a bad metric. Given that our population is ever increasing and is expected to climb from the current level of 325M to 400 M, will people 30 years in the future sit around saying that since our foreign-born population is only 52 million and only represents 13%, that we have room for more since it is still shy of the 15% in 1900?

We will always be chasing a higher number because as the population rises someone will always point out that what we think is a huge number is really a small number because percentage-wise it is actually smaller than it was in 1900. Of course if you were to go back to 1607 Jamestown, 100 percent of our population was foreign-born. Do we want that?

By any reasonable metric, “mass” immigration is a myth.

A myth that will have changed the third most populous nation in the world from being 88% European to being under 50% in about 80 years time. We aren’t talking about changing the demographics of a small nation like Switzerland where perhaps you could flood a couple of million people to water down a population of 5 million. We are talking about flipping a nation that had almost 200 million people in 1965. Think about that. Demographically altering a nation of 200 million people to the point it is unrecognizable.

That is the definition of mass immigration. It is not fu*king myth. It’s harsh reality.

  16. syonredux says:

SJW hoopla over at Vox over casting Cleopatra:

Almost all of the actresses who’ve played Cleopatra have been white. But was she?

What did Cleopatra look like? A debate about the last real ruler of Egypt’s Ptolemaic Kingdom has raged all day on Twitter in light of reports that Lady Gaga and Angelina Jolie are competing to play the ancient monarch in a blockbuster biopic from Sony. While IMDb lists a Cleopatra film as being in development, for now it’s just conjecture that Jolie, who played the Queen of Macedonia in 2004’s Alexander, is going head to head with Gaga over the role.

Historically, white actresses such as Claudette Colbert, Vivien Leigh, and, most famously, Elizabeth Taylor have portrayed Cleopatra. The thinking during Hollywood’s Golden Age seemed to be that kohl eyeliner and a black wig was all it took to transform any white woman into the Queen of the Nile.

Yep, Colbert and Taylor were just average, run-of-the-mill White women…..Just go down to any post office…..

In 1999, when Chilean actress Leonor Varela stepped into the role for a television miniseries, her casting marked a slight amount of progress, but Varela’s version of Cleopatra has largely been forgotten two decades later.

    Whatever you say, darling….

Historians have long described Cleopatra as ethnically Greek.

    More like ethnically Macedonian…..

but during the past decade, that assumption has increasingly been called into question. In 2009, a team of archaeologists found the remains of a woman they believed to be Princess Arsinoe,

    So, unconfirmed.

Cleopatra’s sister. The researchers believe Arsinoe’s remains, found in Ephesus, Turkey,

Which, again, might not be her remains (see above)

indicate that her mother (also likely Cleopatra’s)

    Again, lot of uncertainty here…

    was African

And here we go again. What do you mean by “African?” North African caucasoid, like the Berbers?Or Black African?

That Arsinoe had an African mother is a real sensation which leads to a new insight on Cleopatra’s family and the relationship of the sisters Cleopatra and Arsinoe,” Hilke Thuer of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, who made the discovery, said at the time.

Still no clarity on what is meant by “African.”

A year before the discovery of Arsinoe’s remains, Egyptologist Sally Ann Ashton, then a senior assistant keeper at the Fitzwilliam Museum, made headlines with her 3D computer animated image of Cleopatra. That’s because the image did not depict Cleopatra as a white woman but as a brown-skinned woman with cornrows. Ashton and her team used forensics to create the groundbreaking image of the ancient monarch.

What kind of forensics? You know, seeing as how we don’t have Cleopatra’s skull and skeleton…

“She probably wasn’t just completely European,” Ashton remarked at the time.

Again, note the “probably.” And not being completely European does not equal being part Black. She could have been part native Egyptian:

“You’ve got to remember that her family had actually lived in Egypt for 300 years by the time she came to power.”

Of course, the Ptolemies were known for their heroic efforts to keep the blood-line pure…..

Today, people who consider Cleopatra to be a woman of color have suggested performers as diverse as Jennifer Lopez, Priyanka Chopra, and Rihanna play the Egyptian ruler.

So, Ptolemaic Egypt had Mestizos……and South Asians…..

If Egyptologists doubt that the Queen of the Nile had solely white ancestry, then the idea that she was mixed-race and that an actress of color could realistically portray her shouldn’t be a controversial idea in the year 2019.

Whatever makes you feel prettier, sweetie….

Once a Pankaj is a manager, there is no more room for ‘reconsideration‘. It will be all Pankajes and Shikhas all the time from now on. They don’t do ‘meritocracy’, they are smarter than that, they understand that jobs and careers are an asset. There are at least 1 billion waiting in that Pankaj-Shikha queue.

A short history of our civilisation is the repeated submersion of the vigorous and creative, but a bit naive euro types in the massive see of the southern aborigines. It has happened again and again, including to the Indo-European invaders to India 3,000 years ago. The aborigines always prevail because they are sneaky, fertile, clannish and lazy. And they don’t do ‘merit’.

It works well on the individualist euro type. Euro DNA has a meta-existence weakness with a tendency to avoid the obvious. Maybe too smart, maybe too selfish. The only successful strategy for the remaining euros is isolation, but the meta quirk might keep us from adopting it. So Pankajes will take over and ruin it the same way as before.

  36. DB Cooper says:

Indians are a very hard to deal with people for those in the know. Indians sophistries are well-known. The corporate media for all sorts of reason may project the image of India as a peaceful democracy that keeps to itself. The reality is totally different. For its immediate neighbors India is a bullying, meddling, land grabbing hegemon. That this kind of behavior is not well known in the West is because India power only allow itself to bully its immediate neighbors but not beyond that. India has grabbed land from every single of its neighbors once the Raj left the scene in the subcontinent. It even gobbled up whole countries, like Manipur, Sikkim. In 1975 after years of behind the scene manipulation by the RAW (Indian equivalent to the British MI5), India sent in a column of army trucks to the independent Himalayan kingdom of Sikkim and annexed the country and kept the Sikkim king in house arrest for the rest of his life. His American wife Queen Hope Cooke managed to go back to the state before the Indian army closed in. Hope Cooke is still alive and lives in New York.

One way for the US to deal with the difficult Indians is to have the relations between the two countries permanently soured. And one way to do that is for the American people to lobby the US government to explicitly recognize Sikkim as an occupied nation and demand India to withdraw from Sikkim unconditionally. I am sure if the US uses its diplomatic clout to rally the nations of the world to back its position, it will gain widespread support because the US is on the right side of history and the US will regain some moral high ground it clumsily loses because of all sorts of missteps. This will change the geopolitical landscape between the US and India and would indirectly solves the problem of Indians flooding into the US.

    Let’s be honest here.

I am a liberal and no fan of most of what Rep. King does. I do mostly agree with him on immigration.

I was interviewed by The NY Times once. They completely misquoted me and took other stuff out of context. I was being interviewed about someone I knew. 45 minutes of praise and they used my imaginary quotes to rip him a new one.

I’ve known people who were public figures. I once sent a prominent article about a couple I knew to the coiple. The lady wrote back and said she quit counting the misquotes after a few dozen.

Does anyone really think the GOP leadership believes the Times? Or were they looking for an excuse to throw King under the bus.

Ironic the same people complaining about the “lying press” will sacrifice someone when he says the press is lying.

My brother and his family are treated exactly like family by Druze in the US and northern Israel, but there is a level for which they are simply not Druze and never can be even if they wanted to be.

Now imagine how the stout English, Scots, Scots-Irish, and Welsh felt when the nation they helped create–the United States of America–became overrun by first the Irish and Germans (drunks and Catholics), and later on the Italians (swarthy Catholics with a mafia mean streak) and Poles (dullard Catholics). Between 1880 and 1930, the foreign-born population represented between 12 and 15 percent of the total population. We are talking about flipping a nation that was predominately Anglo-Saxon to one that now contained a heavy Eastern and Southern European influence, altering a country to the point that it became unrecognizable. It’s not about “whiteness” or “being European”, but it’s about “remaining Anglo-Saxon”!

Novelist John Dos Passos, a freaking halfbreed! (Portuguese and English), characterized the period well–“The people of this country are too tolerant. There’s no other country in the world where they’d allow it… After all we built up this country and then we allow a lot of foreigners, the scum of Europe, the offscourings of Polish ghettos to come and run it for us.”

Did not our Founding Fathers, most notably Benjamin Franklin, warn u.s. about future invaders…

“They [the Germans] weren’t as smart as the people already living in the colonies. Those who come hither are generally of the most ignorant Stupid Sort of their own Nation…Not being used to Liberty, they know not how to make a modest use of it.”

    and endangering New England’s whiteness…

“[T]he Spaniards, Italians, French, Russians and Swedes, are generally of what we call a swarthy Complexion; as are the Germans also, the Saxons only excepted.”

This is not who we are.

A number of groups have to go back.

I’m not there quite yet, but increasingly I find myself not dismissing Scott Adams’s theory that Trump is a persuasion genius who deliberate crafts each of his publicity stunts for maximum effect (rather than being, as I feel, more of a natural).

Case in point: The hamburger celebration:

    — Had Trump done a ritzier meal, he would have been accused of living high on the hog during the shutdown.

    — Trump joked about how he considered having the little woman, perhaps along with Mrs. Pence, throw together some little salads for the boys. Yeah, right, Melania making salads.

    — But no, he decided to order fast food burgers and pizza (eliciting whoops from the crowd of feral athletes)

    — He ordered 300 burgers, he said. Then later he changed his story to 1,000 burgers, piled “a mile high.” This seemed like a possibly deliberate set-up to provoke some media outlet into a selfl righteous “Our Lying President” editorial, but I guess they are wising up and let it pass.

    — A black sportswriter on Twitter had an unhinged rant about how Clemson pays close attention to the nutritional content of food eaten by their elite athletes, complete with photo of three dumpy looking cafeteria chicks who have some sort of nutrition certificate. Meanwhile, the football players are giving quotes about how awesome the food spread at the White House was. And I’m sure they eat junk fook all the time anyway.

    — Finally, political reporter Philip Bump of the Washington Post has a big analysis of the fast food, complete with infographic and data table, and per-player calorie analysis.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2019/01/15/president-trumps-extravagant-sandwich-celebration-clemson-university/

It’s possible that this Bump article is a joke (he does end with “FACT CHECK: At two inches each, a thousand burgers would not reach one mile high”). But if so, it’s very tongue-in-cheek for the Washington Post. And he seems to be complaining that there were only two or three burgers (not counting pizza) for each of the players. I’m guessing that was enough, and Trump didn’t want any leftovers showing. Bump feels that Trump was underfeeding them.

By the way, I wonder how the Secret Service vets Presidental demands like this? Are there food tasters? Did they make sure to tell the fast food outlets the the food was for black athletes, not the President, to minimize saliva content? Did the orders go through the chains national headquarters?

The crazy Black Race is just pulling more bull….t from their Black Athena Fantasy of pseudo anthropology. This reminds me of the time blacks were nearly rioting because they demanded that King Tut was black. Unfortunately for them a massive genetic study ( I believe it was in Nature) showed that Tut was even more Middle Eastern than previously thought. There is a reason that most Egyptians hate American Blacks…..because they are always trying to steal the Egyptian’s history.

Before it’s over these idiots will destroy all history of Western Civilization and try to replace it with their madness.

  103. Altai says:

This is the essential problem with immigration. When numbers are small foreigners feel self-conscious, accept their outsider status.

They are in any effect surrounded by the natives who don’t feel threatened or resentful of small numbers of outsiders and if there are too few of their diaspora to form a counter pull, naturally get adsorbed without much notice if they choose to stay. (In a typically Western country anyway, other places may be more culturally rigid and difficult to do this in )

But modern mass migration with it’s attendant silent assumption that the minute a single person of a different ethnicity shows up, said country is now ‘multi-ethnic and multi-cultural’ (Regardless of if the native population was actually this already, nobody called Switzerland multicultural before the Albanians showed up) meaning there can be no restrictions on immigration numbers or legitimate concern for the native population, they have lost their country. They no longer have a state whose purpose is the manifestation of them and their interests. It is essentially the biggest movement to end self-determination since the age of empires. Their numbers are only to ever decline, their cultural, geographic and political living space taken constantly by more interlopers who now start to tell them how lucky they are to have them.

There are always too many natives and not enough ‘diversity’.

I agree, but in this case I don’t think it would have mattered much. The long knives were out for King after his reelection, especially in the Republican establishment, and they would have gotten him for some minor thing he said or did soon enough.

Has anyone in the Republican party stood up for him? The reaction from establishment mouthpieces, from Romney to McCarthy to McConnell to Cruz, indicates this was a stitch-up meant to go ahead with full party support and no recourse offered to King.

King won’t survive his next primary, if he lasts that long. There’s a nice Dutch-American Sioux County gentleman all lined up to take the seat, and he’s likely to be a safe, polite conservative who’s far more narrative-compliant than King.

Descriptions of Cleopatra’s beauty postdate her life by a couple of centuries.

The hooked nose is characteristic of Macedonians of the time (Alexander’s people). But we don’t definitively know if she had a hooked nose. The main evidence, the coins, are inconclusive because we know that coinage often was not an accurate representation, and there were coin sets with both Caesar and Cleopatra, were Caesar’s image is completely unrecognizable.

It would be nice if the Republicans we do elect do whatever we can to reduce immigration. But independently of that, we as Americans have to be able to demonstrate what we are capable of and what our intentions are. We’re not going to get what we want out of the political establishment until those things are clear and credible.

  121. Meh, you guys are merely eating the fruits of cuckdom. I do not say that lightly, just read and compare the blast from the past I’m about to quote to the womanish handwringing, your politicos of today spout:

From the confines of Jerusalem and the city of Constantinople, a horrible tale has gone forth and very frequently has been brought to our ears, namely, that a race from the kingdom of the Persians, an accursed race, a race utterly alienated from God, a generation forsooth which has not directed its heart and has not entrusted its spirit to God, has invaded the lands of those Christians and has depopulated them by the sword, pillage, and fire; it has led away a part of the captives into its own country, and a part it has destroyed by cruel tortures; it has either entirely destroyed the churches of God or appropriated them for the rites of its own religion.

They destroy the altars, after having defiled them with their uncleanness. They circumcise the Christians, and the blood of the circumcision they either spread upon the altars or pour into the vases of the baptismal font. When they wish to torture people by a base death, they perforate their navels and, dragging forth the extremity of the intestines, bind it to a stake; then with flogging they lead the victim around until, the viscera having gushed forth, the victim falls prostrate upon the ground. Others they bind to a post and pierce with arrows. Others they compel to extend their necks and then, attacking them with naked swords, attempt to cut through the neck with a single blow. What shall I say of the abominable rape of the women? To speak of it is worse than to be silent. The kingdom of the Greeks is now dismembered by them and deprived of territory so vast in extent that it cannot be traversed in a march of two months. On whom therefore is the labor of avenging these wrongs and of recovering this territory incumbent, if not upon you? You, upon whom above other nations God has conferred remarkable glory in arms, great courage, bodily activity, and strength to humble the hairy scalp of those who resist you.

Let the deeds of your ancestors move you and incite your minds to manly achievements; the glory and greatness of King Charles the Great, and of his son Louis, and of your other kings who have destroyed the kingdoms of the pagans and have extended in these lands the territory of the Holy Church. Let the Holy Sepulcher of the Lord our Savior, which is possessed by unclean nations, especially incite you and the holy places which are now treated with ignominy and irreverently polluted with their filthiness. O most valiant soldiers and descendants of invincible ancestors, be not degenerate, but recall the valor of your progenitors.

Reading you guys going through the same cliches everytime some new boundary is pushed kinda reminds me of the ending of Things Fall Apart. Okonkwo slays the court messenger, expecting his fellow warriors to rise to the occasion their reputation demanded of them, instead, they acted as shrinking violets. That was enough to drive him to his death.

The last libty magazine that was any good was the old two color non-slick Liberty

Liberty is a libertarian journal, founded in 1987 by R. W. Bradford (who was the magazine’s publisher and editor until his death from cancer in 2005) in Port Townsend, Washington, and then edited from San Diego by Stephen Cox. Unlike Reason, which is printed on glossy paper and has full-color photographs, Liberty was printed on uncoated paper stock and had line drawing cartoons by S. H. (Scott) Chambers and Rex F. “Baloo” May, no photographs except for advertisements, and only one extra color (blue), which was limited to the cover and occasionally a few ads. Beginning in November 2010, the magazine transitioned to an online-only format.

Not a libty any more, but I have to say, it was beautifully done, in a way reminiscent of the old Home Shop Machinist when monochrome, or some early retrocomputing magazines.

Great plan! Since the Republican Establishment that you support so avidly (and, it may be added, repeatedly) is responsible for at least half of the mess we’re in, they should be rewarded handsomely.

Well yeah. The reason I keep repeating it is because it is The Answer. There isn’t any other. If there were, things would look a lot different than they do.

One small quibble though. It’s not about empowering the Republican Establishment, it’s about empowering us. Ie, we can exercise our tribal interest and sustain it over a period of time.

The “sustain” part is really important, and exactly where we’re failing at the moment. As things stand, we as Republicans can win an election here and there, Donald Trump or anybody else for that matter. But the other side always wins the waiting game even if we win an election. It’s where we sustain a period of electoral dominance that things can change. Then we can win the waiting game instead of losing it. We can force the other side to come to an accommodation with us instead of the other way around.

Brilliant! And are there any In-N-Out’s in the D.C. area? Two overtly Christian fast food chains.

I suspect that the problem with Chick-fil-A is the human resources problems that they have had in expanding to greater D.C. There is a shortage of well-scrubbed, polite, white, Christian youth, and the staffing has led to a bloodbath on Yelp for them.

I am from Atlanta and grew up on chick fil a and have met Truet Cathy. I am 100% sure he is turning over in his grave looking down on how this location is operated! It is the worst location I have ever been to with unfriendly people and no service to speak off! I watched them charge a customer for what looked like a small catchup packet because the sandwich they bought specs doesn’t call for it! .44 for sauce!!! No smile just bitter people working behind the counter! Not even chick fil a can find friendly people in DC!

    ——–

No problem with the food but the customer service. WOOOOW. The absolute worst customer service.

    ——–

A LONG line during lunch time, but the workers there are rude! I one time asked for some sauce and the lady’s like I told you this already, but we aren’t allowed to give more than 2 sauces… I NEVER EVEN ASKED BEFORE. Also, when I was walking up to tell my order, the worker asks how I’m doing and I say good, I would like… and she goes “I SAID HOW ARE YOU DOING?” but note that after she asked me the first time, she started talking to the customer next to me, and clearly wasn’t paying attention to me. Also, I noticed that one of them was on their phone before taking the next customer.

It’s not that the entire staff needs to be white Christians, but you need a critical mass of them to set the tone and culture of the shop.

    If you include their progeny,…

If you read her article she tried to dismiss Americans’ objections by suggesting Lebanon had a higher percentage of foreign-born.

Lebanon, which had about 4.4 million people in 2010, has admitted in just a few years around one million Syrian refugees, which works out to around 23 percent increase in its population.

Now that might be true, but most of those people are recent refugees from Syria which means they have not had much progeny, and they are still living and acting like transients awaiting return to Syria. On the other hand the USA’s 44 million living, or 60 million total post 1965 immigrants have had several generations of progeny and have established themselves in their own communities.

Given the choice I’d rather have my alien population in temporary shelters awaiting return to their homeland than having them be a well-established, multi-generational segment in my nation.

In what world do we think they are all going back, whatever it is, it’s plainly not this one. So instead of worrying who has to go back where in someone’s fantasy, maybe we should think more about how we’re going to get from here to the immigration regime we want.

  157. [Caution: Do Not Read Beyond This Point]

Not much worth a “take away” from here (due in part to losing my “borrowed” lil’ vademecum, “The Europeans” by John Geipel (1969)years ago) – or the previously inflicted “Scratch Russian Dressing -Draw Tartar Sauce.” WTH – JG’s view was that overall the gene flows across Eurasia have been East to West for thousands of years. Don’t think that the Yabadabadoo Yamnayans who somewhat “replaced” (swell euphemism for genocide) food growers – who had done something like that to hunter-gatherers and the fur-clad Slackers – were a “thing” in the 1960’s. As is commonly known, “Starvin’ Marvin”-type Goths streamed into the Roman territory on account of being depressed by the Huns. JG also noted that Berbers were (are?) often green-eyed. (haven’t the foggiest if their ancestors mooned the last surviving recognizably Neanderthals from across the Straits of Gibraltar. He noted little obvious change in phenotype going from Greece to what is now Turkey. The horse-nomads who were the first to threaten the Chinese were Europid in appearance. While those Caucasoids invented the Horse, perhaps due to lax export controls abetted by short-sighted or treasonous Globalist/Heartlandists, the blue prints (no, not the Blue Wolf) were transferred (maybe for the equivalent of pennies on the dollar or male autistic geniuses [want come up cave-place and see etchings?] wives, Taiga Mothers or rocks) to the Mongols & Co – as were compound bows – which were then much improved by East Asians who had prized the works of the guy responsible for much of The Suicide of the West – W.E. Lemmings.
DNA analysis suggests that some Neanderthals had the ribose for blue/green eyes, light skin and ruddy hair – although it is not known if Neanderthal-Homo Sap hybrids were treated like red-headed steppe children.
The Russians (who, given that according to Geipel were exceptionally “conservative” with respect to preservation of Indo-European atonal grunts amused themselves with hoary Golden Horde – Golden Hoard jokes )were able to reverse some of the East Asian conquests in large part because the Czars got away without paying the Chinese for gunpowder patents. I should add that according to cablecasts of the vegetable-peer-reviewed History Channel there a still a few lingering Mongols sporting European features – though one suspects that given their current circumstances, they’re in a world of yurt.

There’s a lot out of stuff coming out on the population genetics of the “Northern” parts of the ol’ Fertile Crescent (now mostly Star & Crescent) – Hittites, Kurds (closely related to the Wheys who rocked the curdle of civilization), Syrians, Assyrians, Anti-Syrians and so on. There are reasons to believe that modern day Jews are in part related to some of those groups. Geipel also (seriously) gave his opinion that Armenians, often resemble (often crudely caracatured of course) stereotypical depictions of Jews than do actual echt Juden.
The genetic contributions to the Middle East (and to North Africa by Vandalizing Krauts) by “Crusaders” (not to be confused with Crusader Rabbit or Crusader Rabbi) have probably been exaggerated – though, of course, that doesn’t mean that we ever stop apologizing to The Religion of Peace.
There’s seems to have been a revival of the creepy skull measurings of more than a hundred years ago – which, according to some, suggested that unlike most Arabs, Ashkenazi Jews (probably Sephardic ones as well) are predominantly brachycephalic -(though I’m not sure that was or is science of high caliper[sic])) – and one should be retread carefully here because the subject might be as “radioactive” as brachytherapy.

Disclosure: I have no ties to any of the tentacles of Big Pharma, though some of wifey’s relatives advise buying budding marijuana stocks (I suspect they’ll evetually be bought out or suckered by Big Weed), but (as previously disclosed) like Amy Harmon, 23andMe says my maternal DNA is K2a2. However, given that there aren’t any Semitic SNP hits for moi -in contrast to a boatload from the British Isles as well as The Land of the Midnight Sun Dumb Swedes and given that the report mentions that K2a2 is also found in small numbers in and around the Outer Hebrides -those Nordic/Celtered Isles therefore might be more likely to be the source rather than say, the Inner Heebr—-…. oops…- if the Old Corded (unplugged when bat is charged) Battleaxe sees this -Hoo Boy, would I get Yellen’d at -better wrap up this crap – she might put me in the doghouse – actually it’s a big Goyish barn type shed in the backyard – and who knows? -some Antifa or some poorly paid putz scrawling for the New Yorker might dox both our “houses.”

Just to reiterate: my understanding is, for the alt-right, race realists, immigration patriots, or however you’d like to identify, immigrants who came in some wave from the Middle East, Africa, or Central America (and their descendants) have to be deported en masse back to their country of origin, or at least out of the United States.

But it plainly didn’t “send them all back” as our current demographics testify to. It’s also worth mentioning that Operation Wetback was implemented with the explicit collaboration of the Mexican government at the time.

Then again, I’m not completely sure that you were thinking of Operation Wetback. So if you had something else in mind, what is it?

And there’s one last thing, in the spirit of my other comments on this thread: if you were thinking of Operation Wetback, that’s obviously not at all plausible in our current political environment. Therefore, we should all be pulling on the same oar towards increasing the institutional and demographic strength of the Republican party in America, wherein more things of that sort that could be possible. Instead, a lot of us want to live in fantasy world where we can dream about sending a bunch of Mexicans and Central Americans back south of the border. That might be emotionally satisfying for some people, but completely ineffective as a practical matter.

Not only will the US do the right thing, the geopolitical paradigm shift it generate will also stop the subcon going to the US dead in the track. Politically this is a no brainer. Not only will it cost the US nothing in terms of international political capital, it will unite the world (first world, second world, third world) under the US banner for once. Really which country will oppose it other than India itself? I couldn’t think of even one country.

I was wondering about this, especially in the context of the shutdown. Let’s suppose for a moment that Trump “wins” the shutdown, in the sense of the Democrats capitulate to appropriate $5 billion or some other number towards the construction of a border wall across the southern border.

And Franklin’s thoughts on the Germans could be rather nuanced:

Yet I am not for refusing entirely to admit them [Germans] into our Colonies: all that seems to be necessary is, to distribute them more equally, mix them with the English, establish English Schools where they are now too thick settled, and take some care to prevent the practice lately fallen into by some of the Ship Owners, of sweeping the German Goals to make up the number of their Passengers. I say I am not against the Admission of Germans in general, for they have their Virtues, their industry and frugality is exemplary; They are excellent husbandmen and contribute greatly to the improvement of a Country.

[O]f the 1990 census, 56 percent of the marriages among Whites were between people who had no overlap in their ethnic ancestry;roughly 25 percent were between people with a partial overlap in ethnic identity, that is, for example, when a “German-Irish groom takes an Irish-Italian bride,” and 20 percent were marriages between people with identical ethnic backgrounds. For some ethnic groups, the proportion of entirely in-marriages for people born between 1956 and 1965 was extremely low: 7.6 percent for those of Polish ancestry, 7.0 for Scotch-Irish, 12.1 for French, 15.0 for Italian, and 12.7 for Irish.

“For example, Franklin’s concerns over the Germans lessened over time.”

    Source?

    “Successful assimilation works wonders…”

Indeed, regardless of race or ethnicity. But, apparently WASPs generally did not think so given their efforts to ensure a significant decrease in numbers from inferior ethnic groups like the Italians, Greeks, and Poles.

“Well, yes. He was concerned that the Germans would not assimilate. Fortunately for the USA, they did.”

So you believe in Magic Dirt and believe that the WASPs were ultimately wrong. That certainly is reasonable to assume. Great to know.

    “Little of both, actually.”

No, the reality was for the English, Scots, Scots-Irish, and Welsh to preserve Angloism while minimizing the disastrous effects of non-Anglos invading the nation they constructed.

“Note how Franklin was speaking of absorbing Germans, not Blacks….”

Not surprising given the time frame. Blacks were slaves. Regardless, absorbing Germans was undesirable given their alien lifestyles.

“There you go!Italians and Poles were viewed as being of the same race as Anglo-Saxons…..whereas Blacks are not. Race matters…..”

Nope. Poles were viewed as being of a lower class ethnic group. Ethnicity mattered more to the Anglo-Saxons. They did not desire to have their bloodlines vitiated.

“but intermarriage between European ethnic groups in the USA has steadily risen over time:”

Indeed. In the United States, this European ethnic peaking order became obliterated by people making their own choices about who to marry. But their ancestors would look at this trend with suspicion, especially Anglo-Saxons.

“Anglo-America can successfully absorb Europeans…..Non-Europeans, though, are a different story….”

So much for this alleged inclusion and unity of their fellow white European men and women.

I think you are trying to be dense on purpose here. You appear to be suggesting that anything less than allowing some group full control of your own nation is somehow an affront to that group. They certainly allowed non Anglo Europeans to immigrate to America. But at the same time wanted to preserve the Anglo character of the nation. There is nothing wrong with that, or is it a reason to suggest they did not want those people. They simply wanted to maintain the Anglo roots of the nation.

However, by excluding others in however small numbers, they clearly made a choice about whom they did not want in their midst in any numbers at all. You are trying to equate the total exclusion of non-Europeans with the measured acceptance of non-Anglo Europeans. It simply is not the same thing.

But, apparently WASPs generally did not think so given their efforts to ensure a significant decrease in numbers from inferior ethnic groups like the Italians, Greeks, and Poles.

You have to get it through your head that they were not trying to decrease those other Europeans. The 1924 Immigration Act was meant to preserve the demographics of the United States as of the 1890 census. This meant that even the English were limited in how many immigrants they could send during the period covered by the 1924 act. It also meant that the Irish, which you seem to dislike, where given the 3rd highest number of slots because that was warranted based upon their representation of the population of the 1890 census.

You mean the United States can successfully absorb people from different races and ethnicities.

The United States has a proven track record of over 200 years of absorbing different European ethnicities. Period, full stop.

We have a bad track record spanning the same period of absorbing non-Europeans. Hence, a large portion of our legacy black population remains unassimilated to our norms. Hence, a large portion of our legacy American Indian population remains unassimilated to our norms. And a large portion of our latino population remains not only unassimilated to our norms, but effectively lives in a different nation using a different language.

And chances are good that a large portion of our fill-in-the-blank immigrant groups of today will remain unassimilated to our norms.

“One of the Founders, who wrote that quote years before the American Revolution and who apparently had a change of heart.”

Of course he, along with the Founding Fathers, agreed that the new nation required newcomers. Obviously, those people would come from Europe. HOWEVER, Franklin did not have a change of heart when it came to the deathly concern about the inundation of Germans and other foreigners who would dilute the special gene pool. The Founding Fathers desired the “right type” of immigrant, one that looked and acted like them–WASPs. There was a European pecking order, a ethnic preference, one that was clearly delineated by nativists in the mid and late 1800’s.

“I think you are trying to be dense on purpose here. You appear to be suggesting that anything less than allowing some group full control of your own nation is somehow an affront to that group.”

The various quotations and historical sources, with context, I have provided on this and other threads demonstrate that indeed the WASPs desired to maintain full control of the nation they built without ceding authority to newcomers.

“They certainly allowed non Anglo Europeans to immigrate to America.”

Of course they “allowed” them onto their shores, as the captains of industry desired cheap labor. Yet, WASPS denounced the presence of these groups, who brought filth and disease, along with their crass customs and foul religions (Roman Catholicism, Judaism).

“But at the same time wanted to preserve the Anglo character of the nation. There is nothing wrong with that, or is it a reason to suggest they did not want those people. They simply wanted to maintain the Anglo roots of the nation.”

Except that preservation became untenable; hence, the two quota acts of the 1920’s in an effort to minimize the ill effects of their inclusion.

“However, by excluding others in however small numbers, they clearly made a choice about whom they did not want in their midst in any numbers at all.”

It wasn’t small numbers to Eastern and Southern Europeans. They were left out in the cold compared to their Northern and Western European brethren. And, of course, there was the preference for “open borders” for those living in the Western Hemisphere.

“You are trying to equate the total exclusion of non-Europeans with the measured acceptance of non-Anglo Europeans. It simply is not the same thing.”

Both non-WASPs and non-Europeans were deemed inferior, one group more so than the other.Nativists were “reluctant” to enable lower class ethnic Europeans to be included in the body politic and to become interwoven in the social fabric of the nation. They bore witness to the dangers of foreigners getting their greedy mitts on what they had constructed with this “measured acceptance”. The argument given by the non-WASPs was that “we are one of you, we are European”. WASPs, however, generally stated that you are a lesser European, not on our same level of competence and skill. Yet, when it came to “unity” as a race, WASPs extended their hand to their European brethren. Regardless, the European ethnic pecking order remained firmly in place.

“You have to get it through your head that they were not trying to decrease those other Europeans. The 1924 Immigration Act was meant to preserve the demographics of the United States as of the 1890 census.”

The Emergency Quota Act (1921) restricted the number of immigrants admitted from any country annually to 3% of the number of residents from that same country living in the United States as of the U.S. Census of 1910. This meant that people from northern European countries had a higher quota and were more likely to be admitted to the U.S. than people from eastern Europe, southern Europe, or other, non-European countries. Three years later, that percentage went down to 2%, with the baseline now being 1890, thus ensuring that the number of Italians, Poles, Greeks, and Serbians would be further minimized!

“The United States has a proven track record of over 200 years of absorbing different European ethnicities. Period, full stop.”

So, Magic Dirt it is! The problem is that the WASPs believed otherwise; hence, the Quota Acts and the various means of communicating their disdain for Europeans deemed incapable of blending in.

“We have a bad track record spanning the same period of absorbing non-Europeans.”

That would be your opinion. Remember, the same arguments employed by non-WASPs that they possessed the skill to assimilate to WASPs are rejected today by modern nativists.

“Hence, a large portion of our legacy black population remains unassimilated to our norms.” Hence, a large portion of our legacy American Indian population remains unassimilated to our norms.”

That would be your opinion. Now, whose norms? “Anglo” norms? “American” norms? You realize both are distinct, right?

Again, how many modern day Americans refer to themselves as “Anglos” or their nation as “Anglo-American”?

“And a large portion of our latino population remains not only unassimilated to our norms, but effectively lives in a different nation using a different language.”

The Germans and the Polish were notorious for engaging in a similar behavior for decades (late 1800’s to mid 1950’s). Of course, bi-lingualism is part of our heritage.

“Dunno. From what I’ve read, tensions over Irish, Germans, Italians, etc, waxed and waned in accordance with immigration levels….”

Due to their ethnicity! Anglo-Saxons in particular were frightened at the prospect of having what THEY built being overrun.

Yeah. Thankfully, they were able to assimilate the European immigrants……To the point that, nowadays, people really don’t much care about intra-European distinctions. After all, Poles and Italians start looking a lot alike when they are compared to Blacks….

“For example, Franklin’s concerns over the Germans lessened over time.”

    Source?

Read his writings. Concerned comments about Germans drop off over the years.

    “Successful assimilation works wonders…”

Indeed, regardless of race or ethnicity.

Ethnicity, sure. Anglo-America has been much less successful assimilating non-Europeans.

But, apparently WASPs generally did not think so given their efforts to ensure a significant decrease in numbers from inferior ethnic groups like the Italians, Greeks, and Poles.

Numbers matter. Large numbers of immigrants are difficult to absorb.

“Well, yes. He was concerned that the Germans would not assimilate. Fortunately for the USA, they did.”

So you believe in Magic Dirt and believe that the WASPs were ultimately wrong. That certainly is reasonable to assume. Great to know.

Magic genes. You know, what with Germans being European and all.

    “Little of both, actually.”

No, the reality was for the English, Scots, Scots-Irish, and Welsh to preserve Angloism while minimizing the disastrous effects of non-Anglos invading the nation they constructed.

Is “Angloism” a word? And, yes, they wanted to preserve the Anglo-Protestant nature of Anglo-America.

Yet anti-miscegenation laws never prevented Poles from marrying and interbreeding with Anglo-Saxons…..All of which is in contrast to Blacks….So, yeah, I would say that race trumps ethnicity….

“but intermarriage between European ethnic groups in the USA has steadily risen over time:”

Indeed. In the United States, this European ethnic peaking order became obliterated by people making their own choices about who to marry.

And also because intra-European differences seem a tad less salient when Blacks and Amerinds are around….

But their ancestors would look at this trend with suspicion, especially Anglo-Saxons.

    Probably.

“Anglo-America can successfully absorb Europeans…..Non-Europeans, though, are a different story….”

You mean the United States can successfully absorb people from different races and ethnicities.

Different European ethnies, yeah….Non-Europeans, not so much….

So, what is the percentage of white Americans who refer to their nation as “Anglo-America”?

No idea. As it’s something of a highbrow, academic word, probably not too many.

“Magic genes. You know, what with Germans being European and all.”

No such thing as magic genes in biology. Try again.

Again, miscegenation deals with race, not ethnicity. You are misrepresenting this concept agin.

Not to WASPs. Regardless, your statement is simply an opinion.

I clearly stated “not desired”. I did NOT use the term “excluded”.

Correct. Which clearly shows that the WASP elite back in 1790 c thought that fellow Europeans like the Poles were quite different from non-Whites….

Note that one of our Founding Fathers, Benjamin Franklin, did not hold certain Europeans in high esteem, nor wanted them in liberal numbers.

Key point being “liberal numbers.” And, again, here’s a more nuanced piece from Franklin on the topic of Germans in America:

Yet I am not for refusing entirely to admit them [Germans] into our Colonies: all that seems to be necessary is, to distribute them more equally, mix them with the English, establish English Schools where they are now too thick settled, and take some care to prevent the practice lately fallen into by some of the Ship Owners, of sweeping the German Gaols to make up the number of their Passengers.I say I am not against the Admission of Germans in general, for they have their Virtues, their industry and frugality is exemplary; They are excellent husbandmen and contribute greatly to the improvement of a Country.

    Anglo-American norms.

Again, how many modern day Americans refer to themselves as “Anglos” or their nation as “Anglo-American”?

As I noted elsewhere, I have no idea…..but I do have the vague impression that it is increasing, what with all the Latinx around….

“And a large portion of our latino population remains not only unassimilated to our norms, but effectively lives in a different nation using a different language.”

The Germans and the Polish were notorious for engaging in a similar behavior for decades (late 1800’s to mid 1950’s).

Germany and Poland don’t share a land border with the USA…..Plus, the WASP elite brought the hammer down on the Germans in WW1…..

Actually, America has been successful at assimilating different races and ethnicities.

I’m trying to think of a non-European population that has been successfully absorbed…..Certainly not Blacks or Mestizos/Amerinds….We’ve done pretty well with Lebanese Christians and Armenians (at least the ones who immigrated before the fall of the USSR)….But those groups are racially Caucasoid and kinda/sorta European…

Anglo-America includes the Anglophone portions of Canada; it’s more inclusive.

Yet the WASPs, as you call them, put quotas on themselves. Get that? They put quotas on immigration from the mother country. They would not permit excessive immigration from England. So this shows they were not interested in flooding the nation with newcomers. Else why not import the whole lot of little England and guarantee the USA remained an Anglo nation?

And, of course, there was the preference for “open borders” for those living in the Western Hemisphere.

Immigration from the Western Hemisphere at that point history was so minuscule that it did not materially affect the demographic composition of the nation. And since the 1924 act was about preserving the demographics of 1890, it was not necessary to include this group which was not threatening to alter that demographic.

Not as “filthy” and “violent” as they were made out to be. That would be ethnic bias at play.

“Fortunately, The WASPs were able to convert them to Anglo notions of cleanliness and decorum”

First, there was no “conversion”. Rather, it was adopting to the norms of a society. Second, it’s American notions of decorum. Third, Americans who resided in urban areas, as well as the incoming immigrants, in the late 1800’s experienced other than clean living conditions. Fourth, you are espousing Magic Dirt.

“…..And even their religions (Catholicism and Judaism) were made to fit Protestant norms….”

No, their religions were made to fit their own norms. Exactly why WASPs were opposed to the inclusion of those ethnic groups who practiced those faiths.

    “Magic genes.”

No such thing as “magic genes”. You’re floundering.

“Sure. Those populations were more difficult to absorb than the ones from Northern Europe.”

    According to WASPs.

“And then wore down over time as groups like the Italians and the Poles were assimilated…..”

No, that ethnic pecking order remained in place. Consider the various ethnic ghettos found in cities.

    “Anglo-American norms.”

    No, just American norms.

“And do what, show you letters where he doesn’t talk about Germans?”

No, you prove that his writings about his concerns about Germans drop off over the years. YOU made that assertion. Otherwise, retract your statement.

“Dear fellow, the simple fact is that Franklin’s concerns about the Germans peaked in the 1750s.”

How do we know for certain? Regardless, WASP concerns about Germans became heightened with their presence in the 1840’s and 1850’s.

“I’m trying to think of a non-European population that has been successfully absorbed…..Certainly not Blacks or Mestizos/Amerinds….”

    Actually, yes.

“We’ve done pretty well with Lebanese Christians and Armenians (at least the ones who immigrated before the fall of the USSR)….But those groups are racially Caucasoid and kinda/sorta European…”

We have done well with more groups than you care to admit.

“Hence the desire to lower immigration levels….And those lower levels made assimilating the ones who were here much easier….”

Because certain ethnic groups who were European were a direct threat to the customs and traditions of WASPs.

    “Germans are genetically European”

Germans are mostly related to Northern Europeans. What is fascinating is that Germans are kind of a “transition zone” of Central-to-West, Central-to-North and Central-to-East Europe if you view several maps of autosomal genetic admixtures and Y-DNA haplogroups.

“and Europeans can be successfully absorbed by Anglo-America.”

You mean Europeans and non-Europeans can be successfully absorbed into the United States. Of course, WASPs were of the mindset that Eastern and Southern Europeans could not assimilate properly. Again, white Americans generally do not view themselves as Anglos nor refer to their nation as Anglo-America.

    “If race doesn’t trump ethnicity”

Who says that race does trump ethnicity, or that ethnicity trumps race?

“why were Poles and Italians allowed to marry Anglo-Saxons?”

Because after a couple of generations in the United States, the children made their own decisions as who to marry.

“Anglo-America includes the Anglophone portions of Canada; it’s more inclusive.”

You mean North America includes Canada and Mexico.

  233. Corvinus says:
    @istevefan

“Yet the WASPs, as you call them, put quotas on themselves. Get that?”

With those numbers being substantially more than Eastern and Southern Europeans. WASPs were essentially protecting their own kind.

“So this shows they were not interested in flooding the nation with newcomers.”

Actually, it shows that they were not interested in flooding the nation with those newcomers who were incapable of assimilating.

“Else why not import the whole lot of little England and guarantee the USA remained an Anglo nation?”

The legacy WASPS here were not stupid. They would welcome their brethren in just smaller numbers. Why would they want further competition for gimmedats and free stuff?

“Immigration from the Western Hemisphere at that point history was so minuscule that it did not materially affect the demographic composition of the nation.”

Indeed. But the door was left open.

“And since the 1924 act was about preserving the demographics of 1890, it was not necessary to include this group which was not threatening to alter that demographic.”

It was about the potential threat imposed by Eastern and Southern Europeans. These ethnic groups were deemed inferior. So much for white unity.
