From Sports Illustrated:

By Chris Chavez November 19, 2017

Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch sat during the Star-Spangled Banner but then stood up for Mexico’s national anthem before Sunday afternoon’s game against the New England Patriots in Mexico City.

Marshawn “Beast Mode” Lynch’s Raider’s lost 33-8. I’m guessing that the Patriots’ Tom Brady stood respectfully during the playing of both anthems.

The average White-American doesn't know what the acronym "NAFTA" stands for.
The average White-American has never heard of the H-1B visa.
The average White-American doesn't know WMDs were never found in Iraq.
The average White-American never heard of the 1965 Immigration Act.

The average White-American is generally totally ignorant about public policy, current events, and history. The average White-American does not read books or newspapers.

However, the average White-American does follow football very closely and takes the game seriously. When it comes to player behavior, Whites like to see cooperation, team work, and camraderie on the field. They absoutely hate it when a drama queen ruins the cooperative team dynamic on the field. So when "Beast Mode" refused to stand for the national anthem today, he definitely pissed off a lot of people. They won't soon forget this.

White-Americans also feel like that standing for the national anthem is important because it shows "support for the troops." The average White-American does not know (or care) which countries the troops are fighting in, but he does like symbolic shows of patriotism. When he sees "Beast Mode" disrespecting our troops who are fighting for "freedom" overseas, he pisses off people even more.

If you want to get a White-American man angry, don't talk to him about immigration or the national debt. He'll ignore you because those issues are "boring."

If you want to get a White-American man angry, show him players sitting during the national anthem and ruining his sportsball experience. That'll get him angry and turn him to your side.

When Trump chose to fight with the NFL players and today went after those arrested UCLA basketball players, he was making a very shrewd political move. That type of stuff will get the White-American masses to come over to his side.

They are if you look at stadium attendance. You can't just write it off on boring QB's. The white fans aren't that stupid, they know they are being given the FU from the players.

I hope the players keep it and wreck the NFL for good because it's a joke sport that exists to make the owners rich and distract whites.

UCLA and that idiot Larval Ball along with his larcenous son are going to get the same treatment that Trump gave the NFL. These blacks can't help themselves, they just have to f**k up. Ball's son and buddies go on a theft spree that if it happened here in the U.S. would have been Grand Theft because they stole some very high ticket items. They hit three designer stores.

Funny thing is, the UCLA students when interviewed weren't surprised they were caught stealing. I guess it's a normal activity of budding pro athletes.

Must be nice to be part of the entitled class that can steal, rape and beat people with impunity.

The Mexicans don't like blue collar white or black East Bay Raiders fans.

    , @SMK
Will it never end? Probably not, since these protests have nothing to do with facts and objective reality. In "black-run-America," even white male billionaires, gentile and Jewish, the most powerful men alive, are too craven or ignorant to tell these idiots and thugs that the epidemic and scourge of "police brutality" and "systemic racism" they're protesting is a lie and delusion, and demand they stand, respectfully, or be fired or suspended. The loathsome Jerry Jones was so cowardly and shameless as to kneel and hold hands with his millionaire thugs and idiots during the Anthem in a symbolic expression of solidarity. Or does he actually believe in the truth and "justice" of their noble and heroic protests of evils that don't exist and haven't existed for half a century.

Not a surprise from Lynch. I don’t expect this to get much coverage, especially if the Donald Trump – Lavar Ball fued keeps going. Reported attendance in 77,000 in Mexico City and looks like that is a legitimate number, the stands look full in the highlights.

As far as I'm concerned, the French should just let the Libyans be grilled, on the grounds that no sane government should recognize the post-Qaddafi mess as in any way legitimate. I still cannot believe we decided to elevate a bunch of slave traders to power, in the name of **human rights.** I'm about as cold-blooded of a realist as it gets in foreign policy, but combine the incompetence and petty malignance ("We came, we saw, he died.") in with the results, and you get something that truly manages to nauseate me.

When I lived in Bellingham I'd see that black guy, Anthony McClanahan, running around with his latest customer making a spectacle of himself down at Marine Park (he was a personal trainer). He'd make a point of parading his customer around by the waterfront coffeeshop there (great view) and flex, stretch and go through a calisthenic routine right in front of the outdoor seating area--all very narcissistic--that was not at all in keeping with Bellingham's deserved great reputation for being more of an aerobics-type town. Bellingham is snow boarders, cyclists, mountain bikers, canoeists, kayakers and so on. This guy stood out because he was obviously none of the above. His murdering some poor white gal doesn't surprise me a bit.

I agree with this entire comment post EXCEPT for the part on immigration and NAFTA. The average white male understands that immigration has been a net loss for his family both in wages and culture.

The average 100 IQ male saw the loss of factories after 1992 (the giant sucking sound) due to NAFTA, too.

Sports is supposed to be a refuge from this BS, the fact SJWs have converged it has likely played a (small) part in the NFL's ratings decline.
    , @Achmed E. Newman
I don't always agree with you, JohnnyWalker, most usually on your admiration for socialism, but this was a great comment. I don't know who hands out the gold-borders (do you have to know someone?), but this one deserves it over most of the other occasional ones I've seen.

To DCThrowback, no, I don't agree that the average American man knows NAFTA. For you and the iSteve audience, probably 95% have heard of it, but for the average American (all ages), I'd say 50% at best. (That's not to say that they wouldn't agree with people here once they recall, or or told about it.) In fact this brings me right back to Johnny's comment - they think spectator sports are more important than politics, and you DON'T! SUPPORT! THE! TEAM! if you think otherwise.

Post on cucked-out radio announcer "in-luv" with an NFL player.

THAT might interfere with their hobby of complaining about Jews. At least Hitler actually killed some.

To produce the first native-Hebrew-speaking child in 2000 years, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda maintained such a strong redpill presence in his own home, that his wife ACCEPTED that their son would spend his first three years imprisoned within three rooms..... lest he ever hear a word of Yiddish.

I admit I did enjoy watching football but that said its not a game that involves a lot of skill. I recognize being a top quarterback involves ability to ‘read defenses’ and coaching a team requires some mental acuity too but the rest of the game is basically a more violent game of ‘tag’ or ‘dodge ball’. Sure the NFL players are fast but you can’t ‘learn’ speed or size. I suppose linemen have to learn ‘technique’ but if you aren’t close to 300 lbs all the technique in the world will not win you a job. I could catch a football as well as any NFL receiver by the time I was 12. Its an innate ability humans have just as a dog can ‘catch’ a frisbee.

CBS camera cut to a couple with (professionally made) “We May Live in Mexico But Our Hearts Are in New England” t-shirts. I remember when a major narco got arrested last year (not El Chapo) he was frogmarched in a Tom Brady jersey.

And yeah, the attendance was by no means spotty for that gigante venue. Gostowski easily made a 62 yd kick as time expired at the half (which N.E. special teams obviously considered doable).

Football is also bad on knees, so they shouldn’t be kneeling. Maybe they could have a lie-down until the whistle blows.

Given how central sportsball is to modern American culture, we can't ignore it. If you want to understand the mind of the average White-American, you have to pay attention to sportsball. Just like you have to pay attention to cartoons if you want to understand the pysche of small children.

If you want to understand how the citizens of Rome allowed their empire to fall apart, you first must understand the Roman public's ruinous addiction to chariot races and gladiator fights.

If you want to understand how the citizens of America allowed their country to decay to this point, you first must understand the public's ruinous addiction to sportsball and other types of frivolity.

People like to have fun? Who knew?

P.S. Is the Roman Empire really something to which we should aspire?

The league made two rule changes in the subsequent years to discourage further long field goal attempts. The first was in 1974, which moved the goal posts from the goal line to the back of the end zone (adding ten yards to the kick distance) and awarded the ball to the defense on a missed kick at the spot where the ball was snapped (this changed in 1994 to the spot of the kick). Then, in 1977, the NFL added a rule, informally known as the "Tom Dempsey Rule", that "any shoe that is worn by a player with an artificial limb on his kicking leg must have a kicking surface that conforms to that of a normal kicking shoe."[

Dempsey's 63-yd FG record was equaled in 1998 by Jason Elam of the Broncos, and again in 2011 Sebastian Janikowski of the Raiders. Both were kicked in Denver.

Then in 2012, David Akers of the 49ers matched than in 2012 at Green Bay, albeit on a mild September afternoon.

Finally, in 2013 Matt Brater of the Broncos kicked a 64-yarder in Denver to beat them all.

Maybe there should be adjusted passing/kicking stats in football, like OPS+ and ERA+ in baseball.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Field_goal#NFL

P.S. The longest punt ever, a 98-yarder, was in Denver as well.

When I lived in Bellingham I’d see that black guy, Anthony McClanahan, running around with his latest customer making a spectacle of himself down at Marine Park (he was a personal trainer). He’d make a point of parading his customer around by the waterfront coffeeshop there (great view) and flex, stretch and go through a calisthenic routine right in front of the outdoor seating area–all very narcissistic–that was not at all in keeping with Bellingham’s deserved great reputation for being more of an aerobics-type town. Bellingham is snow boarders, cyclists, mountain bikers, canoeists, kayakers and so on. This guy stood out because he was obviously none of the above. His murdering some poor white gal doesn’t surprise me a bit.

He looks like the Grinch who stole Christmas in some of these pictures.

    Definitely.

Remarkably, the long-lasting record field goal, Tom Dempsey's 63-yarder in 1970, was kicked not in Denver or even Atlanta or Minneapolis or Pittsburgh, but in New Orleans, which probably has the thickest air in America on average.

Then, in 1977, the NFL added a rule, informally known as the “Tom Dempsey Rule”, that “any shoe that is worn by a player with an artificial limb on his kicking leg must have a kicking surface that conforms to that of a normal kicking shoe.”[

Tom Dempsey was born in with only half of his right foot, so he wore a custom made shoe with a flat front. He didn't kick soccer style with the side of his foot, he kicked straight on and his having a squared off shoe gave him an accuracy advantage over non-soccer style kickers with a full foot and a rounded toe. On the other hand, he was born with half a foot and half an arm, so his kicking with a flat-faced toe, well, in the big picture of things, the cosmic justice perspective, it seemed reasonably fair that the guy with the severe birth defects managed to kick a 63 yard field goal in New Orleans in 1970 to win the game on the last play and set an NFL record lasted until a few years ago.

Dempsey was a brute of a man who would have been a formidable Butkus-style NFL linebacker without his birth defects. That he overcame missing a foot and and hand to set one of the NFL's longest lasting records seems, in the big picture, to be just.

I don't know whether that guy had an advantage or not, but the born with a defect thing may unfairly blind people to realities.

For instance, I've long thought it unfair that cyborgs with artificial extremities are allowed to run track alongside normals. I might be persuaded that for some the discomfort of running on stumps evens out the advantage of having mechanics do foot and ankle work for you. But some people are born with stumps, or acquire them at a young age. The end of their legs are like a normal person's heel. How is that fair?

Sports is supposed to be a refuge from this BS, the fact SJWs have converged it has likely played a (small) part in the NFL’s ratings decline.

To DCThrowback, no, I don’t agree that the average American man knows NAFTA. For you and the iSteve audience, probably 95% have heard of it, but for the average American (all ages), I’d say 50% at best. (That’s not to say that they wouldn’t agree with people here once they recall, or or told about it.) In fact this brings me right back to Johnny’s comment – they think spectator sports are more important than politics, and you DON’T! SUPPORT! THE! TEAM! if you think otherwise.

What are the games that involve a lot of skill or complexity, and are popular spectator sports? As far as I can tell, there aren’t any. Football is the chess of this category; the rest seem even more simple.

I’m having a hard time thinking of anything that is both a sport, and mentally complex. Help a brother out?

Dempsey’s 63-yd FG record was equaled in 1998 by Jason Elam of the Broncos, and again in 2011 Sebastian Janikowski of the Raiders.

P.S. The longest punt ever, a 98-yarder, was in Denver as well.

Kung Fu - or 99% of it - is a joke. This is what happens when a Kung Fu master fights a 3rd rate mixed martial artist who is at least trained in a real functional combat sport: https://youtu.be/JcXBeiOziG8

It must have had a great deal of utility at the beginning, or it never would have been created or sustained over the years. Somehow the Chinese fighting styles got watered down into the current state of ineffectiveness…

THAT might interfere with their hobby of complaining about Jews. At least Hitler actually killed some.

To produce the first native-Hebrew-speaking child in 2000 years, Eliezer Ben-Yehuda maintained such a strong redpill presence in his own home, that his wife ACCEPTED that their son would spend his first three years imprisoned within three rooms..... lest he ever hear a word of Yiddish.

iSteve isn't cut from that kind of cloth, is he?

I don’t know whether that guy had an advantage or not, but the born with a defect thing may unfairly blind people to realities.

For instance, I’ve long thought it unfair that cyborgs with artificial extremities are allowed to run track alongside normals. I might be persuaded that for some the discomfort of running on stumps evens out the advantage of having mechanics do foot and ankle work for you. But some people are born with stumps, or acquire them at a young age. The end of their legs are like a normal person’s heel. How is that fair?

Can't tell if you're trolling but Marshawn Lynch is borderline retarded.

Good thing for U.C. Berkeley’s reputation, Lynch dropped out to join the NFL before his senior year. They didn’t have to go through the motions of graduating him.

Then again, he came out of college with a vocabulary wide enough to encompass phrases like “stupid-fast,” so it wasn’t a total waste.

Well, altitude certainly played a role in all the records set by the American track team at the 1968 Mexican Olympics.

But recently I read an interesting interview from the early 1970s with the 1968 US track team doctor about how doctors shouldn't be so cautious about giving steroids to athletes. I brought it up in an article I wrote about OJ Simpson and how strong Southern California sports teams were in the 1960s relative to the rest of the country. The 1968 track team doctor, one of the two top sports doctors in SoCal, had done an experiment of giving out steroids to a high school football team in the mid-1960s and, sure enough, the boys on 'roids got stronger. (His rival top sports doc in the area/era, Robert Kerlan, was opposed to steroids.)

I wouldn't be surprised if you could write a history of famous athletes in SoCal depending upon which two doctors' camps they were with. (E.g., Sandy Koufax was a Kerlan man.) But that's just speculation on my part.

My curiosity piqued by my own question, I youtubed Beamon's famous jump. I was surprised by how rangy the guy was. Long and lean, no steroid monster was he. Of course common sense tells us that it's a disadvantage to carry a bunch of shoulder muscles through the air, but still, to my eye, accustomed as it is to the contemporary roided physique seen everywhere in seemingly every sport, Beamon looked positively, well, human.
