Although this one is a doozy. From the Detroit News:

Jackson gay rights leader accused of burning down own home

Francis X. Donnelly, The Detroit News Published 12:00 a.m. ET Feb. 25, 2019 |

Jackson — When the home of Nikki Joly burned down in 2017, killing five pets, the FBI investigated it as a hate crime.

After all, the transgender man [i.e., ex-woman] and gay rights activist had received threats after having a banner year in this conservative town.

In the prior six months, he helped open the city’s first gay community center, organized the first gay festival and, after 18 years of failed attempts, helped lead a bruising battle for an ordinance that prohibits discrimination against gays.

For his efforts, a local paper named him the Citizen of the Year.

Authorities later determined the fire was intentionally set, but the person they arrested came as a shock to both supporters and opponents of the gay rights movement. It was the citizen of the year — Nikki Joly.

“It’s embarrassing,” said Travis Trombley, a gay resident who fought for the ordinance. “How do you do it to the community you have put so much effort into helping?”

Why Joly, 54, would allegedly burn down his home remains a mystery. He didn’t own the house, which was insured by its owner, police said.

His attorney said the lack of a motive cast doubt on the case.

Meanwhile, a police investigative report suggests a possible reason for the fire.

Two people who worked with Joly at St. Johns United Church of Christ, where the Jackson Pride Center was located, said he had been frustrated the controversy over gay rights had died down with the passage of the nondiscrimination law, according to the report.

The church officials, Barbara Shelton and Bobby James, when asked by police about a possible motive for the fire, said Joly was disappointed the Jackson Pride Parade and Festival, held five days before the blaze, hadn’t received more attention or protests.

Yes, true story, some tenants accidentally burned down 1/2 of one of my friend’s rental houses, for which his brother hadn’t kept up with the insurance. $70,000 was what it cost, and his tenants had the gall to ask for their deposit back.

  16. “It’s embarrassing,” said Travis Trombley, a gay resident who fought for the ordinance. “How do you do it to the community you have put so much effort into helping?”

He did it ‘to’ the people who opposed the gay festival. He tried to frame his opponents and thereby discredit their position, which is presumably that they don’t want a gay festival in town. It was violence for a political cause.

Then again, when the people the who commit the vast majority of terrorism around the world shoot up a nightclub or drive through pedestrians on London Bridge, it is always suggested that the real victims are the other followers of the death cult.

Incidentally, there is a gay street festival in Park Slope every year, and the Moose family found ourselves walking through it on the way home from the playground.

There were at least 5 or 6 booths offering ‘free AIDS testing.’ One of them had an assortment of rainbow-colored dildos arranged on a table, and children were invited to play ring toss with the dildos. I’m not sure what the prizes were, since most 6 year olds have little use for an AIDS test.

This is a known pedophile grooming strategy, exposing children to obscene material without completely giving away what it is. Between this, the post topic, and the legalization of deliberately infecting people with HIV, the question is what would have to happen for laws to apply to homosexuals? The answer is probably shutting Democrats out of power, purging and replacing the judiciary and bureaucracy, and education campaigns (which would currently qualify as “hate speech”) directed at minority communities that now unwittingly support this.

Breitbart reports the triumph of globalism in Chicago:

The middle class in Chicago, Illinois is “almost gone,” new research finds, as the vast majority of residents are either wealthy professionals or working-class residents living paycheck to paycheck.

Research by the Voorhies Center chronicled the near six-decade shrinking of Chicago’s middle class, which is close to nonexistent today, as corporate developers and multinational conglomerates continue dominating metropolises across the U.S. — forcing middle class residents out.

For instance, in 1970, middle income residents made up about half of Chicago, while about 42 percent of residents were either poor or working class and less than ten percent were considered wealthy.

Remember: all of the problems we have — the hair-brained schemes of the globalists come to ruinous fruition, but more the desperate campaigns to win people over or marginalize them — are really because the middle class exists. It is the middle class that wants a house and not an apartment for their stable family. It is the middle class the stabilizes society and makes “world repair” difficult. It is the middle class that votes other than instructed. It is the middle class that raises its impertinent hand at city council meetings and that paints NIMBY signs. It is the middle class which distinguishes the US from the third world: Mexico has plenty of millionaires. The poor don’t matter and the rich are generally on board with the globalist agenda (or they can be threatened). Brazil the model requires what this article describes.

These people are willfully blind. Doublethink I guess. They literally cannot see that which undercuts the Narrative of “America is a seething cauldron of racial and genderqueer hate by Haven Monahans/Nick Sandmans White men.” Or they don’t care and are willfully pushing false narratives. Doesn’t matter which it is, really, because both lead to the same outcome.

Imagine some of these motives. It’s easy if you try:
    – Attention
    – Get to point the finger and frame people you hate (White hetero men)
    – Money
    – Attention
    – Virtue-signalling good feelz, full victim status

The hate hoax problem will get much worse before it gets better. Why? Because it’s quite profitable.

  76. The church officials, Barbara Shelton and Bobby James, when asked by police about a possible motive for the fire, said Joly was disappointed the Jackson Pride Parade and Festival, held five days before the blaze, hadn’t received more attention or protests.

Publicity – and especially the lack thereof – as an existential threat. – Our times in a nutshell. – By and large, this one is clearly less about hate than it is about recognition, acknowledgment – and honour, even. – – – Btw. – this is fairly old stuff, have a look at Hegel, everybody – the dialectics of master and slave for example.

They were even cases where they fabricated HIV+ status, and they lobbied for the NHS to fund more prevention campaigns aimed at lesbians (the risk was near zero).

The AIDS lobby scared the hell out of everyone in the 80s and 90s. You would think AIDS was easily transmissible, like sexually contracted common cold that horny White teenagers in Iowa could get from heavy petting. “Wear your rubbers” plastered on the side of every city bus.

My girlfriend in the 90s asked me to get tested. I went to one of those free anonymous places. When I went back for my result with the counselor, she asked me a few questions about my history, then she asked “Why the hell did you get this test? You have snowball’s chance in hell of getting AIDS” like I was wasting her time.

Later a doctor friend told me that hetero regular sex presented a super low risk and a super low transmission rate even for unprotected sex. He said the major populations at risk were gays and IV drug users sharing needles. Totally different from the impression gathered from the major media campaigns of the time.

That was the first time it began to dawn on me that people push false narratives to advance their own agendas.

. Speaking out against senior Democrats like Feinstein and killing big biz deals that are greased with cash for politicians and unions assure she won’t have a long future in politics.

Now, that’s an interesting point. It’s obviously true, but opens the question of why AOC has any _present_ in politics. Her actions (starting with taking out a top man in the present Democratic organization) should have caused here to drop out of sight.

I think the answer is that the overwhelming majority her constituency (average IQ maybe 90) can’t function in an industrial society, therefore doesn’t like industrial society, and most assuredly doesn’t _want_ industrial society. Sure, they want the goodies, but they don’t want to end up like the non-tech inhabitants of the West Coast cities, displaced by the smart fraction of various countries (including the US). AOC would look like a heroine to them, the person who saved their entire community from destruction. Sort of like the video below, except the “one man” is the Amazon HQ.

Test: Suppose that AOC looks normal to her constituency, and she looks normal to them. They both have about the same skill sets. Could AOC get a job as an engineer at Amazon? As an accountant? OK, she could get a job as a manager, but could her constituents? No? What, then, are they to Amazon, or Amazon to them, but mutual threats?

    From the article at qz.com:

Brian Levin, the director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University in San Bernardino, who has been tracking staged and real hate crimes, counted 49 fake reports between 2016 and 2018. In the same time, Levin told Quartz, there were about 21,000 hate crimes. That makes the percentage of falsely reported attacks 0.2% of all hate crimes. (The FBI received 13,000 hate crime reports in 2016 and 2017, according to its latest data.)

While Levin concedes that his data collection methodology has limitations—he and his team rely on media reports—it is indicative of how rare it is for a hate crime to be made up.

There was a book that came out in the early 90’s: “The Myth of Heterosexual Aids” that addressed this. One of the ways the AIDS lobby and the CDC kept up the hysteria was to periodically reclassify other diseases as “AIDS”.

By the mid 90’s, common sense would have told most sexually active heterosexuals that AIDS was a gay thing. I was fairly prolific when single and had a number of friends that were extremely prolific (as in, had slept with well over 100 women prolific). Not only did I not know anyone that had AIDS, I have never met anyone that knew anyone that had it, or that knew anyone that knew someone that knew someone that had AIDS. If AIDS was something that heterosexuals could get, that wouldn’t be the case.

Thanks. Jack D makes a good point about there usually being an operable window. How exactly does the rule work? Does the window have to be in the kitchen or can it be in an adjacent room? Does the presence of a door between the two rooms matter?

    Another perspective: https://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/01/garden/01fix.html

If your kitchen cannot accommodate outdoor venting, you are not alone. City dwellers share this challenge, said Robert Schwartz, a principal at St. Charles of New York, a high-end design firm specializing in Manhattan kitchens (read: small and not vented).

“Sometimes you can hide the duct in the ceiling and take it out a window, kind of like an air-conditioner,” Mr. Schwartz said. “But some of the finest new buildings in Manhattan are glass buildings, and you can’t vent, so you have to recirculate.”

The rule I see at https://up.codes/viewer/new_york/ny-residential-code-2010/chapter/15/exhaust-systems#M1503
Looks rigorous, but then concludes with an exception you could drive a truck through:

    Section M1503 Range Hoods

    M1503.1 General

Range hoods shall discharge to the outdoors through a single-wall duct. The duct serving the hood shall have a smooth interior surface, shall be air tight and shall be equipped with a backdraft damper. Ducts serving range hoods shall not terminate in an attic or crawl space or areas inside the building.

Exception: Where installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s installation instructions, and where mechanical or natural ventilation is otherwise provided, listed and labeled ductless range hoods shall not be required to discharge to the outdoors.

It doesn’t even have to be an operable window – it can be “mechanical ventilation” – this means a little grill in the ceiling (inevitably covered in dust and grease) that is connected to a vent stack running the full height of the building. The code has requirements for how many cfm this is supposed to move, etc. but I’m sure that after a while these systems degrade or maybe the blower on the roof which is supposed to provide the draw to the whole system breaks completely and no one bothers to fix it. Even if working, the goal of these systems is just to provide some minimum # of air exchanges per hour and not to actually vent the smoke from a steak being seared, etc.

A lot of people in NY (especially if they are rich) don’t cook at all – you go in their kitchen and they are using their oven for storage and the broiler pan is still in the original shrink wrap. The grander the kitchen, the less likely that it will ever be used by anyone except maybe the caterers.

Too many people are willing to compliment her for things like this. It helps when you have an adoring media and no criticism (except bland FoxNews criticism) kind of royalty status (due to her race) putting her not just above usual criticism, but on the contrary, celebrated.

Having as much privilege as she does, combined with her natural airheadedness, must put her head far up in the clouds. It must be dizzying. (All the higher altitude from which the fall inevitably comes; hopefully the damage she does by that time is contained.)

Far too few are willing to call her out for being effectively an Affirmative Action hire. Fox News never will; for all the mileage they get out of making fun of her and waving the bloody shirt with her face emblazoned on it, few if any are willing to call her a racial affirmative action recipient, reaching the position she has (for now) solely because of race — though unlike classic affirmative action, this time she got there at the helm of a mass of racial bloc-voters, with Whites totally marginalized in the process.

Needless to say: A White male/female/other with exactly the same views, exactly the same personality and “media presence” and everything else exactly as is, would have been laughed off the stage, stuck on the fringes of Twitter forever.

Crowley may end remembered in many Nonwhite minds as a faceless Bull Connor-lite figure, somehow a holdover of the horribly racist days of vaguely-recent yore, heroically defeated by racial champion “AOC.”

That may or may not be the case.

It is pretty obvious the leaders of the Democratic Party absolutely HATE her.

    Gee, I wonder why?

For example, Diane Feinstein has a 90% lifetime rating from the League of Conservation Voters, and a 100% rating for 2017, but AOC claims Feinstein is killing thousands of people by not getting behind her “Green New Deal”.

Or, Pelosi is the one who doles out the committee assignments, but AOC gets her in face on social media, so AOC suddenly gets the worst committee assignments.

And, AOC campaigned in primaries for the challengers of many of the people who got re-elected, no thanks to her.

AOC even took on the leaders of the Progressive Caucus. That may be one reason why Mark Pocan called for an end to ICE. Trying to steal her thunder,

AOC seems to think she is a big leader in congress, and the party leaders beg to differ.

For the two major parties, if you are in Congress, you need to spend 30-40 hours a week calling up rich people and begging them for money. And much of the money goes to the Party, whichever party it is. It is go along to get along.

The leaders of the Democratic Party want to crush AOC like a bug. However, she is very popular with young reporters in NYC, and a lot of the young trendy left-wing crowd.

Which makes it hard for them to crush AOC. Only the ones with really secure positions, like Pelosi and Feinstein, can publicly take her on. The rest of the leadership will try to quietly destroy her.

That is what will happen if politics stays as normal. I gave a lot of options, because these are not normal times.

In a few years, AOC might be tending a bar again, or she might be a lobbyist, or she might be on her xth term as a forgotten congresswoman, or she might be the leader of a major socialist movement, or things may have turned completely weird, and she may be president.

After all, if Trump can get elected president, that means politics as usual are broken. When the political system is broken, ANYTHING can happen. That means the unthinkable may become the new normal.

What AOC doesn’t understand is that the Dem elites want a Green Bubble, not a Green Deal.

People-who-matter already have their money invested in green energy penny-stocks. Once they bubble begins to grow, their 100,000s turn into tens of millions, their millions turn into hundreds of millions, then into billions and 10s of billions. Of course, the people who put the money in first will pull it out first before the bubble bursts. Just like with dot.com bubble. With housing bubble, some of the big banks got caught like deer in headlight. They came to believe in their own myth.. but they had the muscle to get massive bailouts. Gods demand offerings.

People like Feinstein might have been for something like the Green New Deal long ago when biggest capitalists in the US were associated with Wasps and when there were plenty of Jewish socialists(along with garment factory workers, peddlers, and small businessmen). But as Jews became the top capitalists among the Boomers, the last thing they are interested in is Real Socialism. They want gayday than mayday.

Granted, green new deal is too hipsterish to be real. At least the New Deal was about how to fix the Real Economy. Green New Deal is about betting everything on sci-fi economy out of Jetsons.

Dr Seuss is full of hate….

Dr. Seuss Books Can Be Racist, But Students Keep Reading Them
    February 26, 20197:00 AM ET

But some of Seuss’ classics have been criticized for the way they portray people of color. In And To Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, for example, a character described as Chinese has two lines for eyes, carries chopsticks and a bowl of rice, and wears traditional Japanese-style shoes. In If I Ran the Zoo, two men said to be from Africa are shown shirtless, shoeless and wearing grass skirts as they carry an exotic animal. Outside of his books, the author’s personal legacy has come into question, too — Seuss wrote an entire minstrel show in college and performed as the main character in full blackface.

In light of this, the National Education Association rebranded Read Across America in 2017, backing away from Seuss’ books and Seuss-themed activities. It introduced a new theme of “celebrating a nation of diverse readers.” Its website now highlights works by and about people of color.

In a study published earlier this month in Research on Diversity in Youth Literature, researchers Katie Ishizuka and Ramon Stephens found that only 2 percent of the human characters in Seuss’ books were people of color. And all of those characters, they say, were “depicted through racist caricatures.”

But when they see themselves represented in a positive way, it can have a similarly powerful effect.

That’s one of the reasons first-grade teacher Emily Petersen says she won’t be reading Dr. Seuss with her students this week, or ever.

“If I’m looking at a 6-year-old and choosing what story [I’m] going to teach them how to read through, I’m definitely going to choose the one that affirms and celebrates identities in a new way,” she says.

—British “middle class” (which has a rigid meaning and applies to specific occupations like an Asiatic caste) versus American “middle class” (which means something like a working class person with more money than he would have anywhere else in the world. America. Even when we get words wrong, it points up our huge greatness. Many such cases).
Yeah, I thought about footnoting this, but decided not to, because in this case it’s really not an issue: what makes the middle class noteworthy on either side of the pond is having political credibility (if not power) without being a part of the ruling class proper. The proles could be our hope, if they were organized, and did something all at the same time. The middle class can worry the ruling class without a referendum or thorough coordination, and can unintentionally set cultural patterns more effectively than these horrible, obvious establishment thought leading campaigns we’ve suffered lately. This is exactly why they are being targeted and, in the story why they had to go. The poor are passive receivers of culture whose only hope of power is a great rallying, they’re not a threat in a society without food shortages.

  178. Olorin says:

    Agree.

What strikes me even harder is that this deluded individual was attached to a United Church of Christ “pride center” that enabled and encouraged this delusion, violence, and criminality.

That church thus raised for congregational worship someone seeking to frame innocent others for her own felonious acts. Who also deliberately burned alive her two German Shepherds and three cats. Ponder that if you will, for we can take it even further.

This creature “shared a home” (apparently on a rent-to-own basis by the landlord) with its “wife,” who appears to have been a former lesbian partner. So this creature also killed animals likely considered pets of said partner, and destroyed property of said landlord, which was also “wife’s” home.

I’ll reserve my observations on the UCC in general for maybe a later comment. At the moment I’ll ponder out loud: how can a congregation that has such a shaky hold on physical reality (like who is or isn’t biologically a man and who is or isn’t a danger to those around her) be trusted to have any authoritative say on metaphysical ones?

Then there’s this, from the story above.

Meanwhile donations rolled in for Joly and Moore.

The church hoped to raise $10,000 but quickly sped past that amount. By the time St. Johns and other groups were done they had collected $58,000, they said.

So the church–among whose leadership were individuals who knew Joly to be “deceptive”–defrauded donors to raise money for one of its ikons. Curiouser and curiouser.

Like the anonymous commenter said, the fact his own pets died suggests it was an accident. Who’d burn their own pets alive?

Yeah, how could he possibly have known that fire would spread and Pee Wee Herman would not be there to save the animals? It used to be widely understood that trannies are insane and violent. That was the old stereotype. There is a piling-up of reasons to bear it in mind going forward.

But what if it was just carelessness

This is one of those cases where the difference is less than academic. There was a story on 4chan, possibly a false* one spread by government agents to encourage trust in institutions and doubt in individuals, about a Canadian farmer, who started a fire in a barn by grinding metal near hay. The barn housed several cows. By the time the firemen arrived, there was no saving the cows, and the farmer had no way of kiling them quicker. A policeman shot the cows with his own weapon and then punched the farmer in the face.
Regardless of the veracity of the story, nobody feels bad for the farmer.
*The storyteller claims that farmers are required to have a weapon accessible, to be able to put the animals out of misery in an emergency, which sounds not only false, but the kind of impossibly false seen in “police have to tell you if you ask them about sting operations.”

Speaking of Facefook, it looks like it’s Zuckerschwitz-Bergenau in there:

Sex, drugs, and flat earth: Facebook’s content-watch contractors cope with the dregs of the internet

Moderators work for contractors like Cognizant, where they’re trained to filter out the torrents of violence, pornography, and offensive speech that flow through the platform daily, in return for a $15 hourly wage that represents slightly over 10 percent of the average Facebook worker’s paycheck [USD 150 per hour average sounds sweet], and psychological issues they drown in “sex, drugs, and offensive jokes” – plus the occasional violent outburst.

Employees reportedly copulate like rabbits wherever they can find the space – in stairwells, in lactation rooms, in parking garages, even in bathrooms, occupying stalls already so scarce that workers spend most of their break time waiting in line to use them. One employee referred to the compulsive coupling as “trauma bonding” – a reaction to both the enforced secrecy (employees must sign non-disclosure agreements and are forbidden to discuss their work for Facebook, or even acknowledge that Cognizant works for Facebook), and the constant onslaught of disturbing imagery dancing across their screens. Others drink or smoke marijuana compulsively, or compete to send each other the vilest memes they come across during their content moderation.

The threat of termination looms large – employees can be fired for racking up just a few errors per week – and that threat weighs just as heavily on those who remain with the company, some of whom “live in fear of former colleagues returning to seek vengeance” – even bringing a gun to work for protection, as one employee did after finding a gang of fired mods waiting for him outside the office.

Constant exposure to “fringe” views wears away at moderators’ convictions, in an ironic twist for a platform that has repeatedly clamped down on political content that deviates from the mainstream. Former employees confessed to The Verge that they no longer believed the official 9/11 story, that peers had begun questioning “certain aspects” of the holocaust, or that some colleagues were actively seeking converts to flat-earth theory. He’s Russian, it’s different because they compare themselves to Western Europe (but a lot can happen to you in a Russian prison).
I bet if the US had a referendum among certain blocs we could bring back the death penalty. Consider that reported support is mitigated by voter participation and unwillingness to admit things. A lot of educated Europeans see not having a death penalty (or not using it, or not embracing it) as a status thing.

(From transcript of 2025 SOTU )

Sergeant at Arms: “Madam Speaker, el Presidente Doctor Generale Alexandria Ocasio Cortez, esquire, Academy Award winner and La Gente Magazine’s Most Beautiful Woman in the World five years running. Make some No-oise!”

    (wild hooting and cheering)

    AOC: “Whatsup.” (Applause)

“You guys, the state of the union is, like, really strong.” (applause and extended woot-woot-woot)

“We started this journey a long time ago, maybe like six or seven years ago. Back then if you told me I’d be president, I woulda been like, ‘nu-uh.’ I wanted to be on TV and star in the reboot of The Nanny but with a Puerto Rican nanny from the Bronx this time. I still think that’s a really cool idea.” (Applause)

“But you know what? Being president is pretty cool, too. Like, I got to totally dismantle the fossil fuel industry, and I got to meet Beyonce.” (Applause)

“Remember those billionaires? Well, everyone’s a billionaire now, so the joke’s on them. Who doesn’t have a billion dollars in their pocket right now? I mean, our staff lives off those 5 billion dollar footlongs from Subway, amirite?”(Applause)

“Seriously, the economy is doing awesome, even though there’s still some creepy old white guys (hiss) focused on accuracy and being semantically correct, but I’m just like, New Country, who ‘dis?” (standing ovation)

“We’re focused on the externalities of complete economic collapse. Externalities is an economics term I learned at BU from this really cute assistant prof sophomore year. It means, like, companies pollute and they don’t get in trouble, but it’s also, like, okay, now we don’t have cars and we don’t all have electricity all the time, but a whole lot more people ride bikes, right?” (Applause)

“Before I bounce I gotta give a shoutout to my girl, Speaker Omar- Hey Girl! Yo that is so dope I heard Minneapolis now has more mosques than any city in the world except London. And you got 99% in your last election. What-what?? You go girl!” (standing ovation)

“Oh, and my peeps getting their settlement, I mean reparations this year: remember to check off if you want the lump sum or the yearly payout. Spoiler alert: always take the lump sum, son! Okay, I’m out. Peace!” (Standing ovation, woot-woot-woot.)

A lot of educated Europeans see not having a death penalty (or not using it, or not embracing it) as a status thing.

That’s a hell of a price to pay for being stylish.

I agreed with one thing Anders Breivik said: he should have been executed or released.
Executed, being my preference, but if the society can’t do that, just let the son of a bitch go.

It’s like when (not if) Mark David Chapman gets paroled. There will be Runyonesque action taken on how long he lasts on the street before someone cacks him. The only reason he ‘s still not paroled is that Yoko O(h)NO has some juice, like the Sinatras who have kept the drunk that killed Frank’s hoodlum pal Jilly Rizzo in all these years when normally the guy would have been out in two to five. But Yoko is an octogenarian and Little Nancy getting near there, Big Nancy and Frank Jr are dead, and Tina (who has little juice) probably dilligaff, so both will eventually be out when their nemeses croak.

There’s a Salier story in the Sinatra/Rizzo case. Rizzo was a thug and he was killed in an accident, in his late seventies, the perp did hit and run, but still, he’s been in 27 years. Mass murderers in California get less. Every time he comes up for parole, Sinatras bitch. And he is turned down.

Frank’s been dead 21 years, Big Nancy kicked last year at over 100, but these people still have serious juice. What gives?

Thanks for letting us know the real problem isn’t the idiot who burned his dogs to death in order to slander straight white Trump voters but the unz.com commenter who made a bad joke. Way to deflect. You really need to keep your misguided self-righteous & disingenuous anger, such as it is, in check.

Worth noting as well is that every crime committed by a white male which does not have exclusively white males as its target is counted as a ‘hate crime’. This even goes for threats, verbal harassment, dirty looks, and other ‘micro-aggressions’. None of the above counts as anything when committed by anyone other than a white male.

  218. @Anonymous

Mikel Jollett’s “hate crime” numbers are really Annalisa Merelli’s numbers, which are really Brian Levin’s numbers, which are basically meaningless tautologies invented by Brian for the purpose of perpetuating his career.

OTOH, Merelli does write that “The FBI received 13,000 hate crime reports in 2016 and 2017”, which is true, in the sense that over two years the FBI received about that number of “reports”. But it turns out the FBI stats aren’t much better than SPLC alum Levin’s fake numbers.

The FBI—or other DoJ arm—could just total up the number of hate crime convictions in a year and have a pretty robust, verifiable and traceable number. But they don’t do this. Instead they total up “reports”, which are not convictions. They are just reports: someone (example: Jussie Smollett) told a law enforcement officer that a hate crime happened, and someone at the law enforcement agency (and by law that person has to be a designated “expert” on “hate crimes”, giving said “expert” a vested interest in justifying their “expertise” with large numbers of reports) passes a few general specs about the allegation on to the FBI, who tally it up for the big report. If the allegation is never confirmed, or if it turns out to be false, does the FBI subtract the number back out? Maybe, maybe not. Apparently certainly not if it takes into the next reporting period to establish the falsehood of the allegation, since the FBI does not issue revised statistics.

Then there is the fact that the definitions of “hate crime” are extremely loose. The perp, if they even have one, does not need to be charged with a hate crime for it to count as a “hate crime” for the FBI’s statistical purposes. For example, if the alleged victim is a member of the NAACP, the allegation is automatically a “hate crime” if the “hate crime” “expert” so designates it.

Unsurprisingly , the definitions and examples in the official docs are written to maximize culpability of whites. In spite of this, whites still manage to under-perform compared to their share of the population. No prizes for guessing which race most over-performs compared to their share of the population, despite the fact that this category of crime was tailor made to boost their victimhood and camouflage their criminality.

Finally, there seems to be no way to trace the FBI’s Hate Crime statistics back to the actual events that underlie them short of submitting thousands of FOIA requests per year, which still may not suffice. So there is no objective, independent way to verify the FBI’s “Hate Crime” stats.

    tl;dr
Despite the existence of actual, verifiable numbers of hate crime convictions existing, the FBI/DoJ ignores that in favor of an opaque, unverifiable, easily distorted process that maximizes “hate crime” claims with no connection to actual convictions. Lazy and dishonest journalists such as Jollett and Merelli bandy these fake stats about with gay abandon. Thus does the public-private partnership Fake News Juggernaut roll on.

Supposedly, the rebuilt main spillway at Oroville Dam was finished 11/1/18, after 2 summers of work. But apparently they are still working on it, but consider the work optional and that spillway is ready to use.

A big difference now is that in 2017 the other two normal ways to drain the reservoir, which can let out 17,000 cubic feet per second past the power generators, were blocked by the rubble of the main spillway. So they can start lowering the reservoir through those outlets under the dam before having to test the main spillway.

I imagine the ideal would be to let the water in the reservoir rise just barely high enough where they could run some down the main spillway and see if it works or starts to fall apart, but if the spillway fails the test, they could use the other outlets to get through the spring.

Of the 7,615 victims reported in 2016, 4,720 were victims of crimes against their person (adults and minors), 2,813 were victims of crimes against property and 82 were victims of crimes against society, which includes weapons violations, drug offenses, gambling, etc.

“tends to confirm everything that people used to say about homosexuals”

Down here at our local Florida beach there is a stretch of strand, around a quarter mile long or so, where the gay men hang out (literally). However, it is located smack in the middle of two miles of beach that is open to all. So anyone walking the beach runs the gauntlet. Families aren’t exempted from the show so they’ve learned to stay away (from the gay section).

#1. Gay men wear either a g-string pouch or just let it all hang out, shaved cock and all. Gross.

#2. Gay men are aggressive. They stare at you. They follow you with their eyes or literally walk behind you for a way to see if you’re interested.

#3. Post sunset, the boardwalk is their’s exclusively, it would seem. My wife and I bike to the beach and walk the boardwalk at whatever hour is convenient. If we’re there after sunset we get lingering dirty looks letting us know we’re not welcome. She, open-minded as they come, was surprised by this, having believed that all gay men are just dreamy, sweet guys.

Liberal women are delusional concerning gay men. They think that gay men are just like gay women. When you tell a liberal woman about gay men’s promiscuity, about their testosterone, they refuse to believe it. Instead they believe what they see on television evening sitcoms. Two chubby guys adopting an African baby orphan, making a cozy nest together.

As someone alluded to above, we live in a civilization in which facts and the truth are trumped by delusion and fantasy. Future generations will wonder at the fall of our civilization just as we wonder about’s Rome’s. That people preferred feel-good fantasies to knowing the world as it is will be a suitable epitaph.

“social media is basically an outlet for narcissism”

Ever on the cutting edge as I am, I finally opened a Facebook account. Not because I wanted to post anything but because my alumni association uses that as its webpage.

Anyway, I looked at a few friends’ and acquaintances’ homepage. Filled with photos of themselves, their pets and friends, exchanging figurative high fives at one another’s accomplishments or modest triumphs.

And the impression I came away with is that it was like a High School Yearbook, but one in which you got to be the Editor. You may not have made much of a splash in high school, may not have had any pictures in it other than that of your senior graduation class photo, but on Facebook you can make up for that, avenge yourself on the yearbook editors who ignored you.

Of Facebook, you are a part of the Dramatis personae. And why not? It’s never too late to clamor for the attention you think you deserve.

Oh my. That song brings back strong memories of sweaty dancing on warm May and June evenings, just before summer vacation. We would all compare our sunburns from our first Saturdays at the pool or local swimming hole. The sweet fragrance of a girl fluffing air through her blouse to cool herself off.

Course it was a Tommy James and the Shondells cover band back then (1967). Great dancing music. Innocent times.

There’s a bit in an old issue of Zap comics (featuring Robert Crumb, but this piece isn’t by him), describing two violent homosexual drug addicts who live and predate under the boardwalk at an East Coast beach. It’s very unnerving how you never hear it brought up considering how realistic it is.
