Women’s Accusations Follow James Franco After Golden Globes
By DAVE ITZKOFF JAN. 11, 2018For the actor and filmmaker James Franco, Sunday’s Golden Globes victory for his performance in “The Disaster Artist” was meant to propel him into Hollywood’s annual awards season with a shot at an Oscar nomination later this month. But questions about Mr. Franco’s behavior with women are following him into the spotlight.
Since Sunday, several women have come forward to say that Mr. Franco sexually exploited them or behaved inappropriately.
… Sarah Tither-Kaplan, another woman who criticized Mr. Franco that night, wrote in a Twitter post directed at him, “Remember a few weeks ago when you told me the full nudity you had me do in two of your movies for $100/day wasn’t exploitative because I signed a contract to do it?”
It’s that second movie I signed a contract to do full nudity in for you that was really exploitative. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me for not going to the NYT earlier.
In other news, Seth Rogen announced that he’s glad he’s smoked 87 kilos of weed over the last twelve years or else he might be in trouble with the ladies too, so far as he can remember.
“I didn’t do … anything while filming The Guilt Trip with Barbra Streisand? Right?
“Did I?
“Please tell me I didn’t. I had just gotten a shipment of some primo Tel Aviv X, so I don’t remember anything through the next Tuesday.
“Oh, God, I did, didn’t I?
“I did, didn’t I?!? Honestly I was too baked too remember. Believe me!
But I do recall Barbra had had a lot of work done just for this role, so it would have been like impolite not to. She kept telling me 70 was just a number, not a state of mind.”
“These situations are more complicated than you might think.”

“First they came for the full frontal nudity.
Me too.”
First the hyphenated name. Warning 1.
(((Kaplan))) warning two.
Meaning she's not a nice pious Hasidic girl.
She's a loud mouth who likes to strip for attention but then goes back on her word.
This is serious for the movie business.
This woman signed a contract, probably w a NDA.
If this kinda shit keeps up NO AMERICAN white girl will get hired again.
Was it pro-rated? I just mean, how long did they need to, uhhh [/Yan Shen], shoot? That explains the complaint – watch the fine print next time, lady. Insist on a minimum-day guarantee. Caveat Emporium, or whatever …
Turns out it wasn't bad old sexism, but that Michelle William’s contract required her to do reshoots, and Mark Wahlberg’s didn’t. Wahlberg's agent is Ari Emmanuel, Rahm's brother.

He does not look like the Weinstein type, does he really need to bribe women?
I wonder how much of #meToo is transformation of America (and the west in general) into a matriarchy. Traditional manly virtues & values like competition today are considered “toxic masculinity” whereas classical female virtues like compassion and care have been elevated to new highs.
I live in France where you could confuse the French state, despite its bloody origins, for a nice, sympathetic matron. But except for highly immigrant communities (Chechens, Middle-Eastern etc.) you don’t see an explicit version of masculinity anywhere. I wonder if America is becoming similar.
Perhaps #meToo is removal of the last vestiges of male values (competition, aggression for status & women) with female values of equality and nonaggression. It also means that the last generation of men in top echelons of power will be replaced by middle aged matrons in centers of cultural power.
(Donald Trump seems an exception though. He is pure, unadulterated, (somewhat buffoonish) expression of male values. It would be nicer if he were more like Michael Corleone.)
All these strong independent women who have the agency of children.
That woman has interesting facial features. I’ve never before seen a Jew with blue eyes but such typically Jewish nose and eye shape
(Not sure I’d be too interested in seeing her nude though)
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic the French are busy confirming prejudices about them. 100 women – among them Catherine Deneuve – signed a protest against too much of #MeToo. You see, the art of flirting might get lost and that whole register of behaviour become endangered.
(I can almost believe it. On the news fora of German public TV, some guy proposed that scripturalization would solve the problem – to quote him: “similar to marriage contracts”. Down with undocumented love!
And hey, back in the day, we did all this letter-writing. I remember that for any Goethe quote I got some Shakespeare, Baudelaire or Schiller raised back at me by the ladies. Boy, am I torn about this issue! Is there a way to rescue verbally enhanced forms of courtship of both the oral and written variety in one fell swoop? I would certainly be willing to employ some more modern, current-year language to this end. Maybe we can pretend that we are just on the cusp of rediscovering the true, original meaning of “non-binary” dating?)
There were some tweets from an extra on Superbad saying Rogen was as bad as any of them, which seems likely.

What concerns me is when #MeToo spreads to the corporate workplace beyond Silicon Valley, it's going to have a devastating effect because a accusation is seen as good as a conviction in a court of law. You really want to be working in such a environment if you're a white male?
Hollywood can never make awesome movies as long as Jewish nepotism is rampant and as long as actresses get roles because they watched Weinstein shower.
Maybe all the proud )))white((( men who made a killing from bitcoin/crypto could get together and start an alternative to hollywood. Movie ticket sales aren’t doing that great, but much of American is used to going to see bad movies and thinking they are mediocre and mediocre movies and thinking they are good. IMO quality would be much appreciated
“Remember a few weeks ago when you told me the full nudity you had me do in two of your movies for $100/day wasn’t exploitative because I signed a contract to do it?”
Ahhhh maybe I’m just supremely ignorant of Hollywood here, but could Franco be right here? I’ve never heard of Sarah Tither-Kaplan, I doubt she’s a big name and if she’s not a big name she’s not gonna be paid big bucks after being cast in the role of “naked chick”.
If she was offered $100 a day to show off the kit and caboodle and she agreed, how is Franco in the wrong?
At least she did get paid. More than those girls flashing for Girls Gone Wild a decade ago can say.
Not to fully exonerate Franco. There are other allegations against him and I don’t find it hard to believe he’s an abuser. I’m just saying the feminist/#MeToo crowd are their own worst enemies. There are genuine predators in Hollywood but alot of them may get away with it because the public’s attention span has been exhausted listening to women with these “my boss is just a jerk” type stories.
Screw Franco. He tries to screw around with other people, he can deal with being screwed right back.
You reap what you sow.
Let the Pink Guard destroy those who are not #wokeaf. Franco is a huge tool anyhow.
These dumbasses will still probably shill for the Democratic Party that is encouraging these warlock hunts.

#MeToo will probably wreck Hollywood, which is a good thing considering what a cultural sewer it is. So no great loss there.
What concerns me is when #MeToo spreads to the corporate workplace beyond Silicon Valley, it’s going to have a devastating effect because a accusation is seen as good as a conviction in a court of law. You really want to be working in such a environment if you’re a white male?
Hollywood was only not affected because of the absolute control the tribe has over there.
It’s long past due that the Francos and Weinsteins get treated the same way every other American gets treated
When are they coming for Ron Howard? Back when his movie Splash (1984) was released, Howard told an interviewer that the great thing about being a director was that you could ask actresses to take their tops off. A damning self-indictment!
I now have an image of Little Ron Howard (was he the chemistry nerd in Village of Giants?) asking a high school senior to earn Mardi Gras beads; her laughing and saying "oh you're so cute," him balling fists and growling under his breath, "one day ..."

“Remember a few weeks ago when you told me the full nudity you had me do in two of your movies for $100/day wasn’t exploitative because I signed a contract to do it?”
She’s complaining about the money more than about the nudity. I would agree with her that $100 isn’t much for nudity. It’s what an extra would get for standing around for a day. Nevertheless, she agreed to it, probably hoping it would lead to something better.
When I was in advertising, one of the other art directors was supervising a photo shoot for a soap product. The model was to be photographed straight-on, seated, knees up, legs crossed at the ankles. She would appear to be naked, but because of the position it wasn’t necessary that she actually be so. However, the art director, a creep IMO, insisted that she be fully nude. The model was very upset, refused to do it, and called her agent. There was a standoff for a half hour or more until the agent negotiated a $5,000 additional payment for the nudity. Then the model was okay.
James Franco was in a HBO series called “The Deuce” about hookers and their pimps. Barely watchable but full of nudity. The series’ producer, and director of some episodes and female lead, was Maggie Gyllenhaal, who showed off all of her “naughty bits, ( love that term, learned it here) frequently. So if you’re the producer and the director and a woman, I guess it wouldn’t matter if you paid an “actress” to disrobe for a hundred bucks. Ms. Tither-Kaplan should be happy for the exposure.
That's a big problem with female psychology -- most women lack a sense of honor. If they make a deal, they don't have a feeling of obligation to abide by the deal even if it's not working out for them or if they regret it. That's why it's so common for women to break dates at the last minute.
Instead of honor, most women are motivated by shame, i.e. fear of social disapproval. Which can work to keep women in check, but in our gynocentric world with its "you go girl" mentality, it's not working as well as it should.

>learned "Naughty Bits" from iSteve
You didn't watch Monty Python's Flying Circus?
Some of the allegations against Franco concern his acting school and a class he taught called “Sex Scenes Master Class”.
That the class was open only to young women and was “hands on” should have been a tip off. Alas, actresses (and actors) are never the sharpest knife in the drawer.
>“Remember a few weeks ago when you told me the full nudity you had me do in two of your movies for $100/day wasn’t exploitative because I signed a contract to do it?”
Is this another way of saying:
“I am not complaining about being a whore. I am complaining about being a poorly paid whore.”
On a serious note what is the optimal price for front nudity that is not exploitative? $5000?
Do we know that she signed separate contracts rather than one contract that covered multiple movies?
2nd, if she found the experience unsatisfactory after 1 film, she didn't have to come back to do the 2nd one. Was Franco going to sue her for the $100? Get an injunction against her?
$100 per day for some nude scenes? That’s all? The supply of people willing to toss off their clothes sure comes cheap.
I would guess at the time, she was; that ultimately it didn’t pan out for her; which led to regret; which led to retconning.

So Franco is a lot like Tommy Wiseau.
In Hollywood, James Franco is widely considered to be Gay. Perhaps he had merely been trying to revise that career-depressing assessment and got caught going about things in a ham-fisted way – – – no joke intended – – – you know, for a Gay man. He probably thought that this was the way “real men” behave when they are with “real women.”
Rock Hudson always pretended to be in a deep slumber while in bed with his first and only wife. She would use her hand on him to try and “get him started.” Rock would call her “dirty” and roll over to the edge of the bed. A half hour later he would leave the house and drive to his favorite Hollywood Gay bar. It seems that Rock never called a man “dirty” when a man, whom Rock had just met, tried to use his hand on Rock.
Well if you pay her $10,000 to sleep with you it’s not exploitation. But if you paid her twenty bucks the second time, #me too.

It's a pity we can't deport him. Can we pay Guatemala or Honduras to take him off our hands?
All film actors have a clause in each contract that specifies only one movie can be made from what they have been paid for (this was introduced because the British film the Three Musketeers used the footage for their long shoot to edit together a full second movie called the Four Musketeers, which the actors were not paid for)
The Deuce is about the 70′s adult film industry around Times Square.
As Brando said: an actor is someone who, if the conversation is not about them, they are not listening.
Franco has been the subject of abuse allegations for sometime now, especially w/r/t to his penchant for barely of age actresses (and, if you believe the blinds, actors). He opened an acting school in NYC and apparently took advantage of those wishing to learn at the feet of the master.
More to follow w/r/t to him, though I agree w/ Steve, Ms. Tither-Kaplan’s anecdote wouldn’t have been my lede in this particular story.
Think about it. Our tax dollars may have been subsidizing a literal brothel.
Segue but thought this would interest you since you find a lot of interesting connections of things:
JAVELIN throwing technique (and equipment). Seems like such a simple thing to throw a spear but it turns out there are really a lot of techniques (including grasping at at the end, normal spear throw, the Al Cantello finish in a hand stand, and even the Spanish discus style). It’s one example where techniques have been disallowed because athletes were throwing too far. Unlike say NFL football with the encouragement of passing via rules.
Also equipment has had to be made WORSE (unlike say sticky gloves in the NFL, juiced balls in baseball (or is that a myth?), kicking and passing balls in the NFL, tennis rackets, etc.) because people were throwing the standard spear too far.
See: https://perryponders.com/2015/04/21/in-1956-a-man-broke-the-current-javelin-world-record-by-spinning-it-around-like-a-discus/ and https://twitter.com/tim_hatton/status/509424923513606144 [Wiki articles and the like will give some of the more standard techniques, including the Cantello approach, don't want to trip your spam filter.]

There is no such thing as “barely” of age. Either he had relationships with consenting adults or not. Are adult women really just children or are they responsible for their own actions? Feminists want to have it both ways.
Franco had an acting school in which he taught courses with names like “Sex Scenes”. None of the women in the class were under any illusion that they were entering a convent school.
The reason that Tither-Kaplan (love the name) agreed to do full nudity for $100/day was that she thought that Franco would help her career. At this point, either that failed to work out or it worked out well, but either way she is no longer in need of Franco’s help (she has found other sponsors) so she feels free to lash out at him.
That's what really frosts me about these situations. People won't accept that most of the women are just as exploitative as the men. There used to be a whole slew of words to describe women who use their sexuality to exploit men. Tart, strumpet, tramp, gold-digger, and of course whore come to mind.
1st of all, it was a joke. There is nothing worse than parsing a joke.
2nd, if she found the experience unsatisfactory after 1 film, she didn’t have to come back to do the 2nd one. Was Franco going to sue her for the $100? Get an injunction against her?

All quite innocent. He just wanted to know if their globes were golden.
“Wog” has nothing to do with golliwogs. It stands for “Western Oriental Gentleman” (i.e. an Indian or Pakistani).

wog (n.)
She's complaining about the money more than about the nudity. I would agree with her that $100 isn't much for nudity. It's what an extra would get for standing around for a day. Nevertheless, she agreed to it, probably hoping it would lead to something better.

“Exploitation” is one of those loaded words, like “racism” or “privilege.” There’s a negative version and a neutral version. The negative sense is taking unfairly advantage of someone. But there’s also the sense of simply making use of a resource. I realize people don’t like to be the thought of as resources, but then again we call those august bodies doing God’s work at corporations Human Resource Departments.
Now, you can’t say the situation wasn’t exploitative simply because she was paid. Because maybe Franco took unfair advantage of her inexperience, desperation, naivete, etc. In order to argue one of those, however, she’d have to explain why she accepted pay she now considers beneath her. An honest answer would probably be something like, “I didn’t get the Big Break I expected.” Which doesn’t sound like much of a victim, and probably isn’t how she wants to be seen.
Instead, we’re just going to pretend Franco molested her or something.
There’s no reason for her tweet to be news. She simply regrets her own decisions.
Or she wants people to Google her name and see her naked.
The Greatest Generation gave way to the Me Generation, who gave way to the Look-at-Me Generation.
There was a New Yorker cartoon many years ago about how women with those hyphenated names are also something slash something slash something. And indeed Ms Tither-Kaplan is an actress/writer/director and also producer/editor and she does casting too.
>Tel Aviv X
Is that a thing? Izzies have ruled E since raving was pre-cool. I hadn’t heard that much about Israeli pot, and marijuana either comes from low-tech agrarian countries or the basement next door. Supposedly Chabad runs heroin and that’s why they’re in Thailand (ostensibly it’s to deal with the enormous number of religiously curious Jewish people on vacation). I would have to imagine that Californians, even those who can afford to import, are preferring domestic (or near-domestic, from Mexico and not another continent). There’s a Microsoft executive looking at being “the Starbucks of pot,” he appeared in an interview with a professional-looking sample display in his own home. Of course, the national origin of drugs is whatever your criminal buddy says.
Yes assuming she is telling the truth, there is no way that a young woman would pose nude for an ordinary guy for $100. So it seems she did it because he is handsome and succesful and she wanted something more from him than $100.
That’s what really frosts me about these situations. People won’t accept that most of the women are just as exploitative as the men. There used to be a whole slew of words to describe women who use their sexuality to exploit men. Tart, strumpet, tramp, gold-digger, and of course whore come to mind.
Not necessarily. Take a trip to Instagram sometime buddy..lots of women on there (especially those of swarthier persuasion) are posting twerk videos and straight up spread eagle naked photos for FREE..sad but true.
Tither-Kaplan’s argument is really interesting too in that, there’s no erotic misunderstanding or male-female stuff or irresistable potted plants. She’s making a simple labor grievance like a Marxist talking about bread bakers. In fact the response is quickly found because it’s a centennially old truism with no sexual component: you had the opportunity to reject or renegotiate the terms of the contract and instead chose to sign it, so it’s not exploitation.
I was fearing that this feminist nonsense was to distract from the pedophiles (although we did eventually get Singer), but now they are Overtonning workplace sexism into labor stuff. Will we see an #metoo phase dealing with the “pay gap”?
The Pay Gap sounds like a labor issue, but actually is a feminist thing, and part of the Diversity Sweepstakes. It's not so much that women are being exploited (in the bad sense), but if they persist in bitching about it, maybe enough people will think they are. Or just throw money at them to shut up.
So… why did you sign the contract , then, if it was “exploitative”? Were you starving, and had no choice but to sell yourself into indentured, nude servitude? I’ve never signed a contract to be nude in some guy’s movie, and I’ve still managed to get by. Somehow.
“Kaplan”, though. Interesting.
There was an Israeli political party that replaced the Magen David with a pot leaf on the national flag, but I’m pretty sure they were a joke and aren’t around any more. Looking at the Icelandic Pirate Party take seats in the Allthing, that might be a critical difference: who gets the joke and who instead votes a joke party into (some) power. Of course, it would have been interesting to see how they would have dealt with security …
The quoted article is wrong. “Wog” is British slang for Arab/Middle Easterner, sometimes including Greater India. That’s why Clapton says:
Wog = Western Oriental Gentleman (the public school Brits and their acronyms).
You are correct that they are effectively different terms, if overlapping.
Or just hire Paz De La Huerta, you won’t be able to keep clothes on her. In “The Limits Of Control” her entire role is literally “the lying around naked girl who gets murdered.” But that’s almost the most coherent part of that movie, which was transparently and as Ebert suspected an excuse for Jim Jarmusch to buy his pals a vacation in beautiful Spain.

Also, he’s Jewish. Plus he’s a Jew. And he is Jewish. Also you might want to factor in the ethnic/racial component here. Rogen is, I believe,Jewish. I think. Not that I am unsympathetic. As Dear Leader so subtly points out, the LIQ (lady in question) did two nude scenes. Apparently the first one rang no alarm bells of fear, loss of self esteem, inability to get out of bed, etc. But the second one rose to the level of abuse of body and soul. Mike Royko used to joke that the motto of the City of Chicago should be “Ubi Est.” Loosely translated from, what is that, French, or something?, means “Where’s Mine?’” Where’s mine? The eternal question that haunts the psyches of Hollywood starlets that never quite made it.
Clapton was pretty cool in the seventies. Anyway, don’t you just love silly made up words like “whitesplaining”? I’ve yet to hear anybody say “blacksplaining” or “brownsplaining”.
Right, there’s a magic transition from child to adult that takes one second at midnight, as documented in numerous studies and celebrated in countless Bildungsroman-type novels.
I always wondered why the Beatles didn’t say anything. Was “Get Back” an insidious attack on the right of browns and blacks to make aaliyah to Britain? Get Back, Jo Jo, indeed. Joking aside ,cant one have black friends, respect their talents, enjoy working with them, but still say black and Paki immigration en masse is a bad idea? Miscegenation is a bad idea?

Unlike a lot of guys being accused, I’m sure Franco actually had plenty of women offering to provide him with free sex.
That's what really frosts me about these situations. People won't accept that most of the women are just as exploitative as the men. There used to be a whole slew of words to describe women who use their sexuality to exploit men. Tart, strumpet, tramp, gold-digger, and of course whore come to mind.

"I am not complaining about being a whore. I am complaining about being a poorly paid whore."
On a serious note what is the optimal price for front nudity that is not exploitative? $5000?
What’s that supposed Churchill quote? “We’ve already established what kind of woman you are, all we’re doing now is haggling over a price.”
Let the Major explain:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ns0uRr6aPQE
Various theories, but the notion that it was derived from “golliwog” seems to be preferred:
wog (n.)
That the class was open only to young women and was "hands on" should have been a tip off. Alas, actresses (and actors) are never the sharpest knife in the drawer.
The man’s a genius.
This has come perilously close to my earlier joke about Mick Jagger being accused of inappropriate behavior with the ladies.
I was just reading Carly Simon’s biography, in which she essentially said, “I knew Mick was a jerk before I met him, I knew he was a jerk when we made out while I was living with James Taylor and he was married to Bianca Jagger, I knew he was a jerk when he sang backup on “you’re so vain,” without credit. I knew it while I was allegedly fucking him. I knew it when Bianca Jagger called James Taylor two days before our wedding to tell him I’d been fucking him. I knew it when I was denying I did it to a very upset James Taylor, and I know it today, and I still love and respect the little jerk! Same goes for Warren Beatty, and many of all the other guys who were assholes who helped my career, that I fucked. Oh, and I’ve been having sex since I was seven years old. Had my first lesbian experience by around eleven years old. I’m Carly Simon. Sex has been the “Hamburger Helper” of my entire life. Just thought I’d mention it, in case anyone wondered why James Tayler refuses to be anywhere in my general vicinity to this day, and why my last husband of 10 some odd years announced he was gay.”
How about that famous photographer Spencer Tunick? He gets hundreds, even thousands, of male and female volunteers to strip naked and pose in some public place. On a hot July day on Wreck Beach outside Vancouver, you’ll see thousands of nude Canadians; again, appearing without charge. At Princeton, sophomores of both sexes run naked around the campus at the first snowfall. It’s weird how nudity is sometimes treated as such a big deal and other times, no big thing. It’s like the “n-word” in that way.
“Wog” is indeed slang for Middle-Eastern, as well as Indian, usually low-class. But that doesn’t rule out it being derived from “golliwog.”
Well, at least he had a goyische dad for those awesome cheekbones.
I’ve had a theory that James Franco got a shot at the big time with Freaks and Geeks due to the fact that Judd Apatow noticed his uncanny resemblance to the then-recently-deceased Jeff Buckley. Sort of like how Billy Zane was cast in movies originally because of his eerie resemblance to a young Marlon Brando.
Both were, at one point, slated to appear in biopics as their doppelgangers, but neither did.
Ron Howard’s interesting because of course he grew up in the system, and he was running around Hollywood in the mid-sixties, which would have been peak Weinsteinism.
I now have an image of Little Ron Howard (was he the chemistry nerd in Village of Giants?) asking a high school senior to earn Mardi Gras beads; her laughing and saying “oh you’re so cute,” him balling fists and growling under his breath, “one day …”
That's what really frosts me about these situations. People won't accept that most of the women are just as exploitative as the men. There used to be a whole slew of words to describe women who use their sexuality to exploit men. Tart, strumpet, tramp, gold-digger, and of course whore come to mind.
Women–some quite attractive–pose nude for art students for less than $100.
Gollywog = Caribbean black, and an Anglosphere-famous doll and line of candy, since whitewashed as Golly. The originals are collectible and appear briefly in the Deepa Mehta film Earth, which depicts the Indian Partition.
Wog = Western Oriental Gentleman (the public school Brits and their acronyms).
You are correct that they are effectively different terms, if overlapping.
*Tither*-Kaplan! As in tithing! I totally missed that. It’s better than being named Saul Christman, her name is literally “Ms Christian-Jewish.”
That some Christians practice “tithing” as such demonstrates several levels of misunderstanding, including Christian freedom from the Law of Moses and that Old Testament tithing was required only for agricultural production, not income from other sources.
Yes, legally there is, just as there is a magic transformation that makes you mature enough to drive a car, to vote, to purchase alcohol, etc. when you weren’t one day earlier. The law is all about line drawing. In real life there are no bright lines but legally we have to use these simple calendar based tests because it would be too much work to assess maturity individually for each person and each type of decision making. There are some women (Ms. Twerpy-Levy or whatever her name is) who never will be mature enough to make responsible decisions about sexual consent until they achieve cat lady status and no longer have to worry about such things but these are the exact same women who keep insisting that women are entirely capable of making their own decisions.
That was actually not a bad comment of yours, very funny too. Keep up the good work.
There’s a difference between being in “art” photos where you may be unrecognizable or in the midst of a crowd and streaking–which can only be seen by those present in the absence of candid photos–on one hand and being featured in a movie that could live on and be seen by God knows how many people in the future. There are actual differences between different instances of nudity.
That’s a surprise to me. Maybe I will put an ad on Craigslist. I would like shoot a video interview of an attractive naked woman. No sexual contact, of course, just a video.

Right we all know that women would never say they were one day older or younger than they really are and that an ID check is de rigeur before a man chats up a woman.

Have you ever heard of Barbra Streisand? She was similar in looking extremely Jewish and being blond, and had an ok body, I guess, 30 years ago.
Whereas she's not... of course...?
Or she wants people to Google her name and see her naked.
The news business is over. It’s just entertainment–clicks, viewers, eyeballs, #MeToo! Hers is merely the complaint of regret in the same way that morning (or months) after sex becomes an allegation of rape.

Political correctness writ large. Women use their feminine wiles and sexuality all the time, to exploit men, to get what they want–you’re just not supposed to mention it. As iSteve refers to it: the crime of noticing.
There’s a ton of blue-eyed girls with Jewish features at the Instagram for “Hot Israeli Army Girls.”
No kidding. I know dishwashers who make that much. Of course, washing dishes doesn’t usually lead to starring roles in Hollywood movies.

She is so gorgeous. She and her sister were the beauties in the girls of Rochefort
And that last scene in Umbrellas with her hair up in a twist and the mink coat just over the top beauty.
She had a nice rack on her “No Secrets” album (1972) cover…
She was kept in a holding pattern in case Salma Hayak refused to do her lesbian sex scene.

I know Jews with blue eyes. Families came from Russia and Poland.
But I think DFH's point was not that the Jewess in question has blue eyes, but the combination of blue eyes with more stereotypical Jewish features.

Sarah Tither-Kaplan’s acting real:
I was looking for nude stuff, I confess, but didn’t find it. But having watched this, I wonder I’m curious about what she did for James Franco. He coiuldn’t have hired her for her acting or looks.
Seth Rogan is basically a condensed form of everything that repels women sexually (His voice is amazing, he sounds an order of magnitude fatter than he is and like he’s been chain smoking for longer than he’s been alive. It’s the most grating thing in the universe.) and his personality doesn’t seem one suffused with human empathy or morality, so yeah, I’d expect him to go down hard too.
Franco is the only one of the Freaks and Geeks/Apatow cabal who seems like he could actually be a decent movie star and even he is terrible and deeply creepy in everything he does. (Try and imagine him successfully playing the hero or a wholesome character of any kind.) It has to be a little cabal because Rogan and Segel are positively repulsive (Seriously, everytime I see Jason Segel I think he needs to see a doctor. He and Rogan have a weird distribution of body fat and a deep sadness in their eyes I haven’t seen outside people in mourning. The dissonance between the big fake smiles on their faces and the abyss in their eyes is haunting. Depression and or chronic fatigue?) with both being box office cancer. Yet they and the greater Apatow gang still get cast in each others projects. A bit like with Adam Sandler and his friends.
Also, why isn’t Franco going down for trying to solicit a 14 year old a couple years ago?
Was she an extra or was it a speaking role, because that’s pretty poor money if she wasn’t an extra, (Contract makes it sound like she wasn’t an extra?) but then I don’t know what the going rate for nude extras is, so it could be pretty poor money regardless. A lot of the stuff they have full nude extras do is pretty bad when you consider how little they’ll be paid or recognition they’ll get as an extra.
Speaking of which, that reminds me of something. After his popular “Candid Camera” went off the air, in 1970 Allen Funt made a movie, “What Do You Say to a Naked Lady?” in which naked women would appear unexpectedly in public places; for example, a naked woman would nonchalantly walk into a waiting room at a dentist office and take a seat. It was all staged, I assume. In the 1980s, Funt was making porno, according to Wikipedia. Add your own parentheses around “Funt” if you want.
John Landis did a similar relaxed-in-public bit but with lingerie.

Bad actress, in a lot of movies with Franco, is Jewish. Is she part of their little circle of friends who give each other parts in each others productions? Can see complain about money given that she is getting roles through her relationships with friends rather than merit?
I get your point, but once you take your clothes off in public you have no guarantee that your image won’t be all over the internet, so you can’t be that concerned. Is the issue about “being featured [nude] in a movie that could live on and be seen by God knows how many people in the future” about humiliation or whether you were paid $100 or $1,000?
Possibly both. Being paid more is less humiliating.
“Looking… Jewish”… ?
Whereas she’s not… of course…?
I was just thinking about Tobe Hooper of Texas Chainsaw fame using a relaxed naked human to represent an alien in Lifeforce, and how this is brilliant, it overlaps Genesis (she’s relaxed because “she doesn’t know she’s naked”) and points up that which should be most instinctively familiar and yet has been made alien by society, but nobody notices it because it’s the best representation of snusnu on celluloid.
John Landis did a similar relaxed-in-public bit but with lingerie.
I live in France where you could confuse the French state, despite its bloody origins, for a nice, sympathetic matron. But except for highly immigrant communities (Chechens, Middle-Eastern etc.) you don't see an explicit version of masculinity anywhere.
If only we could be treated to a montage of his enemies being dispatched in the style of Godfather christening scene.
Turns out ‘judeo-christian’ is a thing after all
Ahhhh maybe I’m just supremely ignorant of Hollywood here, but could Franco be right here?
My guess is that in Hollywood an actress’s first nude scene is valuable, like a woman’s virginity. This woman has realized she sold herself for cheap because she thought doing a movie with Yale genius Franco would be a good move, but now no one’s going to hire her with the expectation of drawing in moviegoers who want to see her tits. Day-after regrets.

It’s more red pill/Heartiste alpha material. Like it’s okay for Sean Connery to say women need to be smacked sometimes because he’s uh Sean Connery, long dong Liam has some uh leverage to say things other men couldn’t.
You are watching the real-time abolition of romantic love and courtship, to be replaced with mediated social media. Unmediated human interaction is being fazed out. They mean to abolish physical reality and the possibility of talking in person. Flirtation, romance, banter, charm, poise, casual human interaction – all of these things have been diminished.

There are signs all over Washington DC directing tourists to the ‘National Museum of American Jewish Military History’ for similar reasons. And the Jewish Historical Society had a long-running exhibit (with banners out front) on Jewish Athletes. And it’s impressive whenever a dog walks on its hind legs or rides a bicycle backwards.
Sabril, very nice reply.

I suspect that someone is paying a fairly large amount of money to Busy Philipps to keep her mouth shut.
The pop-sci memory book Moonwalking with Einstein (written by the more competant brother of the panflash author of Everything Is Illuminated) starts out with a completely irrelevant tribute to a forgotten Jewish bodybuilder.
Whereas she's not... of course...?
Correct. Sarah was born in Arkansas and adopted by Jews. She doesn’t look stereotypically Jewish. She’s kinda cute actually.

Sure in terms of legal issues, but we’re not talking legal issues, this is about public shaming. You’d think that this spat about how much a friend of a friend was paid for frontal nudity is far beneath his cyber-stalking a 14 year old fangirl.

So when Ridley Scott decided to reshoot much of his latest movie to get rid of non-person Kevin Spacey, Mark Wahlberg and Michelle Williams had to reshoot some of their scenes. Williams recently whined that she got paid union minimum while Wahlberg got $1.5 million.
Turns out it wasn’t bad old sexism, but that Michelle William’s contract required her to do reshoots, and Mark Wahlberg’s didn’t. Wahlberg’s agent is Ari Emmanuel, Rahm’s brother.

Michelle Williams is a good actress but her career has been held back by a forgettable name and face.
Mark Wahlberg is a Movie Star, with Ari Gold from “Entourage” as his agent. Wahlberg works extremely hard and loves making money. I would imagine that in the time he spent reshooting scenes he could have made $1.5 million doing something else, like going to Japan for a commercial. Not surprisingly, his contract had the co-star approval clause in it and Ms. Williams’ did not.
(Michelle is [or was] prettier, but Carey has better breasts.)
What concerns me is when #MeToo spreads to the corporate workplace beyond Silicon Valley, it's going to have a devastating effect because a accusation is seen as good as a conviction in a court of law. You really want to be working in such a environment if you're a white male?
The #Metoo backlash has been a feature of corporate American workforce for over 30 years now, maybe even 40.
Hollywood was only not affected because of the absolute control the tribe has over there.
It’s long past due that the Francos and Weinsteins get treated the same way every other American gets treated
(Not sure I'd be too interested in seeing her nude though)
The cruel thin lips do it for me. A hunge a day is about right.
First, there should be a public compact that most people should never, EVER be seen naked. Off the bat, this would include Seth Rogen, Seth McFarlane, James Franco, Oprah, Obama, and especially Kevin James.
Particularly Him. Also Margaret Cho.
With that out of the way, yes we are seeing an emerging Matriarchy. The most evident thing about Matriarchy is that different men are treated differently legally and socially according to how sexy they are, and how much dominance they bring. Muslims can rape and even murder 14 year old girls, no problem. They’re the sexy dominant ones. Joe Average lingers a bit too long looking at a woman in the office, and he’s hauled in as a sex offender.
Give women power and they reveal themselves. And they have.
Franco is being accused because he’s lost power, same as Weinstein. You don’t see John Mayer, or Common, or Justin Timberlake being accused. They have POWER. Matriarchy is all about punishing ordinary men over and over again for not being dominant and exalting those lucky few men blessed with either natural charisma or some sort of power — inherited, gained, no matter.
Yeah, Seth Rogen and Judd Apatow are going down too — women HATE HATE HATE nerdy fatness and in particular the lack of dominant aggression and slapping around that the late Omar Sharif encapsulated. Or Sean Connery. One thing women HATE HATE HATE in men as well is intelligence, so highly correlated is it with James Damore type introversion and shyness. Western society is nothing more than the war of White women against White men for the sin of being ordinary. Of being … just like their fathers. Instead of the billionaire werewolf vampire bad boys they were promised.
I guess by now you have seen that Mr Wahlberg has knuckled under to the zeitgeist :
Me too."
I noticed two things about her immediately.
First the hyphenated name. Warning 1.
(((Kaplan))) warning two.
Meaning she’s not a nice pious Hasidic girl.
She’s a loud mouth who likes to strip for attention but then goes back on her word.
This is serious for the movie business.
This woman signed a contract, probably w a NDA.
If this kinda shit keeps up NO AMERICAN white girl will get hired again.
Turns out it wasn't bad old sexism, but that Michelle William’s contract required her to do reshoots, and Mark Wahlberg’s didn’t. Wahlberg's agent is Ari Emmanuel, Rahm's brother.

Maybe they gave Michelle Williams’ missing salary to Carey Mulligan, who has the same face.
(Michelle is [or was] prettier, but Carey has better breasts.)
“Is the issue about…humiliation or whether you were paid $100 or $1,000?”
Possibly both. Being paid more is less humiliating.
Franco’s statement on the matter is pretty lulzy. As it is the CUURENT YEAR he has to #listentoher and thank her for #speakingout!, but also deny he would do these sexist things.
What’s even more hilarious is that Franco was all set to direct and star in a movie on the girly pickup book “The Game,” with him playing PUA guru Mystery and his buddy Rogan as the schlubby nerd writer he fashions into a jerk woman can be attracted to.
Looks like those plans are being shelved!

‘Rick & Morty’ Co-Creator Dan Harmon Admits To Sexual Harassment And Treating Women ‘Like Garbage’
Completely agree. But, that being said, his performance in the film was strictly meh. Michelle Williams, in contrast, was excellent.
Williams was perfectly cast, especially considering in real life she's a mommy and faced tragedy with Heath Ledger. Though I don't know if they were married at the time of his death.
Wahlburg was miscast. He’s the strong, silent tough guy type. The character was an amoral wheeler-dealer who softens over the course of the movie. I don’t know who should’ve been in his place. For some reason I pictured Colin Firth, but I don’t know.
Williams was perfectly cast, especially considering in real life she’s a mommy and faced tragedy with Heath Ledger. Though I don’t know if they were married at the time of his death.
Not exactly. An old English saying: “The wogs begin at Calais.” In other words, anyone darker including the southern French.
Without spoiling anything, the Hang The DJ episode of this season’s Black Mirror is about just this.

Tithing is not a Christian doctrine. The only reference by Christ to giving a tenth or tithing is in Luke 11, where Jesus condemns the Pharisees for scrupulously giving a tenth from their tiny gardens while ignoring the suffering of others.
That some Christians practice “tithing” as such demonstrates several levels of misunderstanding, including Christian freedom from the Law of Moses and that Old Testament tithing was required only for agricultural production, not income from other sources.

Look, to restrict “Christianity” to “my personal interpretation of the words of Christ as recorded in the canonical Gospels” is probably okay as a personal devotion, but don’t expect anyone else to pay it much mind.
