From the New York Times:

Amazon Is Used to Promote White Supremacist Merchandise and Views, Report Says

Amazon, which reported a net income of more than $1.6 billion in the first quarter of this year, is facing criticism that hate groups use it to sell merchandise and promote their ideas.

By Mihir Zaveri
July 8, 2018

Two nonprofits are criticizing Amazon for allowing its platforms to spread white supremacy and racism, identifying in a report how shoppers can buy onesies for babies stamped with alt-right images, Nazi-themed action figures and anti-Semitic books and music.

The report, which was released on Friday by the Partnership for Working Families and the Action Center on Race and the Economy, said Amazon’s policies allow it to bar hateful or offensive merchandise and content, but the policies are “weak and inadequately enforced” and allow hate groups to “generate revenue, propagate their ideas and grow their movements.”

The report outlines a number of items available as of June, including a costume that makes it look as though wearers have marks around their neck from being hanged from a noose, and onesies for babies that include images of a burning cross emblazoned across the front and Pepe the Frog.

The report identified dozens of e-books being sold in Amazon Kindle formats that were published by groups labeled “hate organizations” by the Southern Poverty Law Center, which monitors extremist groups.

It also criticized Amazon’s CloudFront content delivery network for “facilitating the publication and distribution of digital media” associated with Islamophobia.

As of Sunday afternoon, Amazon appeared to have removed many of the items identified in the report but others, like a sword with Nazi symbols, remained.

“Either Amazon does not find the materials outlined in this report offensive or otherwise contrary to its policies, or it does not consistently enforce its own policies,” the report said. “Amazon has been reactive, not proactive, in its response to use of its site by peddlers of hate.”

In the report, the organizations asked Amazon to develop better policies for policing its platforms, destroy hateful merchandise in its warehouses and stop allowing such goods and content to be distributed through its services. …

Nationally, the number of reported anti-Semitic incidents surged 57 percent in 2017, up to 1,986 from 1,267 in the previous year, according to the Anti-Defamation League, which linked the increase to the divisive state of American politics, a rise of extremists and the effects of social media.

But not to that criminal in Israel who sent hundreds of highly publicized threats to Jewish centers in the USA. Who can remember all the way back to 2017?

In contrast, Amazon currently offers 220 Che Guevara T-shirts for sale. Here’s the first 40 of the 220:

Screenshot 2018-07-08 13.39.22

Why?

Because Che Guevara is a Good Guy.

(All those firing squads Che was in charge of? No doubt, the dead people were Bad Guys who got what was coming to them. How do we know? Because, like I said, Che Guevara is a Good Guy. If you can’t follow this sophisticated logic, try going to college for once in your ignorant life.)

In contrast, Pepe the Frog is a Bad Guy

(Only Bad Guys have follow-up questions to that.)

I purchased a t-shirt with Che Guevara's face on it that says Socialism Is For Fags from Louder With Crowder's website.

When I wore it in public in San Francisco I had several Left Wingers yell profanity at me. Some even yelled Nazi Go Home at me.

I got off easy that time because their Left Wing anger could have easily turned into an attempt at committing violence against me.

I don't know if I would be so lucky wearing that shirt again in public in San Francisco, it would be like playing Russian roulette. Next time I'll choose to wear that shirt in a more politically Conservative area like when I visit family back in Staten Island.

I TRIED, Steve, 3 times! I still don’t get why some of these bad guys are the good guys, and all those good guys are the deplorable guys. I think we should go back to the days of the old B&W movies, where we could tell by the color of men’s hats. Mine’s Red/Orange. (In my kids 128-color crayon box, this exact shade is called “MAGA”.)

Man who attacked teen over MAGA hat arrested for theft

The drama unfolded in a Whataburger fast food outlet in San Antonio on Tuesday. A man, identified afterward as Kino Jimenez, apparently walked up to a group of teenagers and proceeded to throw a drink at 16-year-old Hunter Richards.

Jimenez also took Richards’ red ‘Make America Great Again’ hat, telling him “you ain’t supporting sh*t, n*gga.” The incident was captured on video. According to Richards’ friends, the attack was unprovoked.

“This is going to go great in my fireplace, b*tch,” Jimenez can be heard saying in the video. According to Richards, a clump of his hair was also pulled out when the man grabbed the hat.

College students really haven’t romanticized Che Guevera since the 80s. Most college students have never heard of Che Guevera.

If you could explain Che’s life to them, they wouldn’t be interested. Student radicalism faded rapidly in the 80s and 90s.

Most college students are hypercompetitive and look up to people like Marc Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, sportsballers, famous musicians, and social media celebs.

If Che Guevera isn’t controversial, it’s mostly because most people have never heard of him. It’s also because Communism collapsed over 25 years ago. It’s a relic of the past.

What explains the berets then, if we're excepting the very few Special Forces part-time students, the French foreign students, and 1/2 of The Mythbusters?

Seriously, I think you're wrong though. The students may have no idea what Marx wrote, and who Lenin and Trotsky was, but that's really part of the problem. They go for that same supposedly romantic rebel-against-the-establishment crap every time, without knowing that the Socialists and new Commies ARE the establishment. The 1/2 Billion-$-in-Assets $outhern Poverty Law Center, as seen in this post, is a prime example.

Of course, this part of the establishment is not a group of those old-timey Capitalist Roaders. They don't make any profit, dammit. The million dollar houses, bank accounts, and cash in the Cayman Islands are for cash flow only. THAT! MONEY! IS! NON-PROFIT! MONEY! - - GET! THAT!?

Politically interested students absolutely have heard of Che Guevara. DSA types strongly identify with him. He was born to rich parents (like them) then he lived out their bloodlust-fantasy. Right wing students learned all about him from the boomercon whining-industrial-media complex.

I do agree about the careerist competitiveness and basically underlying pro-capitalist mindset of college students, even/especially the radical "left" is corporate-capitalist. Agree, their heroes are the Bezos types, they want to get rich and exert more technocratic control. Apolitical students look up to, increasingly, Youtube and instagram "stars". No kidding.

Btw I'm predicting at least 3 angry replies from boomers balking at the idea that communism is dead because of obamacare or some other such.

The people that Che killed were POC. Even if they were reactionary, revanchist, capitalist pig running dogs, they were still POC and the kids get a bit queasy talking' bout doing violence again 'em.

  10. Jefferson says:

Mexicans overwhelmingly voted for a Left Wing Socialist to become the new president of Mexico. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador won by a HUGE LANDSIDE over his opponents, it was not even a close nail biter finish. He politically massacred the competition.

So hopefully this will finally put the nail in the coffin on the argument from pro-open borders RINO Never Trumpers who love to claim that Mexicans are “natural Conservatives” so there for the Mexicanization of The U.S means permanent political power for The Republican Party and the end of The Democratic Party.

Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador ran on a platform of tearing down the concept of borders and becoming soft on crime as he wants to take on a softer more humanitarian approach on how to deal with the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels. This is who Mexicans are and he represents their Mexican values.

So since this is who Mexicans are, selling Che Guevara merchandise is going to become an even more lucrative business in The U.S as we become more Mexicanized.

The more Mexican we become the more cries of you are Literally Adolf Hitler if you publicly express any political views which are to the political Right of Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

I think it is narrowly possible that Mexicans might be natural conservatives past some selection threshold. No wall and not much of a selection process doesn't help, nor do I see the Democrats working to change that. But what if you only took in the Mexican middle class, or only took in the skilled? Maybe, just maybe they would narrowly be conservatives.

The reason I speculate so is that Filipinos seem to vote Republican.

You are quite right to dismiss the rhetoric though. It has always struck me as being phony, and about trying to sell the idea of open borders.

    , @Pepe
AMLO is the first left-of-center politician elected President in Mexico in generations, so it's hard to use this election result to make a general statement about the ideological leanings of the majority of Mexicans.

People who say the PRI party (or even Mexico) is socialist, have no idea what they're talking about. It's a mildly nationalist party that supports free trade, little or no social spending and keeping taxes very low.

AMLO is certainly to the left, but his coalition contains the most right wing party in the country, PES. He's personally against abortion and gay rights.

During the campaign he vowed not to raise taxes and has only proposed small apprentice-style jobs programs for young people and a tiny monthly pension for old people. He wants to spend more on education and infrastructure. Hardly radical.

On the border, he agrees with Trump that wages need to be raised in Mexico so Mexicans stay home rather than migrate. He was the softest on Trump during the election, while the two shrill anti-Trump candidates suffered humiliating defeats. His new Foreign Minister said during the campaign that the immigration mess in the US "is Mexico’s fault, it’s not the fault of the United States."

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mexico-election/mexico-leftists-pitch-to-trump-growth-not-walls-to-fix-migration-idUSKBN1J611I

But the election was not about Trump, immigration or the border. It was about corruption, violence and income inequality in Mexico.
    , @Pepe

"becoming soft on crime as he wants to take on a softer more humanitarian approach on how to deal with the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels."

His amnesty proposal is beginning to take some form now, with some of his incoming security team fleshing things out a bit.

The proposal with not apply to violent criminals. The proposal is being directed at young people, farmers and old folks that may have been recruited into helping the cartels against their will - a not unheard of phenomenon.

And his incoming Interior Minister is discussing some legalization proposals.

He's looking for new ideas for the interminable drug war. That's probably a good thing, right?

  12. … destroy hateful merchandise in its warehouses …

No matter what Amazon’s censorship policies become, we can sell our stuff for a better profit elsewhere. However, asking them to destroy the stuff is going too far. All those T-shirts can be sold to non-English-speaking non-meme-understanding people in China and elsewhere in the Orient to recoup the losses.

People over there will wear any kind of shirt with English on it, even if the words are completely nonsensical. I had one of my best LOLs in meatspace some years back in China. A middle-aged Chinaman was walking along on the very crowded sidewalk of a bridge with this wife with a T-shirt that said:

“What I really need right now is a beer, some crack, and a fucking blow job.”

It cracks me up to this day. Nope, I didn’t have the room to get back in front of him and smap a picture. There are big, big markets for Australian (I’m guessing) practical jokers in the Far East. There’s money to be lost, but fun for the whole family.

On college campuses, the most popular t-shirts list the names of the various fraternities&sororities (Tau Kappa Sigma, Delta Phi Delta, Pi Alpha Phi, etc.) or sports-related stuff (usually related to college football). Lots of people like brand names too, like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, Abercrombie&Fitch, Hollister, and American Eagle.

Campus cultures vary pretty widely, with Berkeley being among the most "progressive." Along with the Upper West Side of NYC with Columbia U., Northampton, Mass. with it's nest of Smithies and U-Massters (avoid the large ladies in berets, trust me); Oberlin, OH, where apparently even the Juggalos, the official state hominids, fear to tread. And so on.

But if 40% of today's college-age kids did stumble upon Che in some elective course's readings, or by wandering through a library while trying to find a place to grab a few Zs, they'd probably dig him, if only because it was considered cool, and another way to pick up girls. For the more morose girls, the type that used to like The Smiths, revolution and resistance is almost as good as having a cute little puppy on the Quad or Commons.

But at good schools, there are very many good students. Intellectually curious kids with quality educational backgrounds. They're in the more difficult, more obscure classes.

So hopefully this will finally put the nail in the coffin on the argument from pro-open borders RINO Never Trumpers who love to claim that Mexicans are "natural Conservatives" so there for the Mexicanization of The U.S means permanent political power for The Republican Party and the end of The Democratic Party.

No wall and not much of a selection process doesn’t help, nor do I see the Democrats working to change that. But what if you only took in the Mexican middle class, or only took in the skilled? Maybe, just maybe they would narrowly be conservatives.

Better watch out, it’s brutal out there if you wear Bad Symbols:

Steve doesn't want Latin Americans coming to America (nor do I), yet he calls someone a murderer who tried to challenge the Latin Oligarchy.

The Mexican cartels kill about 25,000 people per year.

In America, over 60,000 people overdose per year. Not all these overdoses can be attributed to Big Pharma flooding painkillers to the mass market, but most can be blamed on pharma. The EU, which has more strict medical regulation, has about 1/12th the rate of overdoses. So we can conservatively estimate that America's pharmaceutical companies are responsible for twice the annual death toll as Mexican drug cartels.

If you can’t follow this sophisticated logic, try going to college for once in your ignorant life.

College students really haven't romanticized Che Guevera since the 80s. Most college students have never heard of Che Guevera.

If you could explain Che's life to them, they wouldn't be interested. Student radicalism faded rapidly in the 80s and 90s.

Most college students are hypercompetitive and look up to people like Marc Zuckerberg, Steve Jobs, sportsballers, famous musicians, and social media celebs.

If Che Guevera isn't controversial, it's mostly because most people have never heard of him. It's also because Communism collapsed over 25 years ago. It's a relic of the past.

Politically interested students absolutely have heard of Che Guevara. DSA types strongly identify with him. He was born to rich parents (like them) then he lived out their bloodlust-fantasy. Right wing students learned all about him from the boomercon whining-industrial-media complex.

I do agree about the careerist competitiveness and basically underlying pro-capitalist mindset of college students, even/especially the radical “left” is corporate-capitalist. Agree, their heroes are the Bezos types, they want to get rich and exert more technocratic control. Apolitical students look up to, increasingly, Youtube and instagram “stars”. No kidding.

Btw I’m predicting at least 3 angry replies from boomers balking at the idea that communism is dead because of obamacare or some other such.

Estimates for executions under Pinochet are around 3k, vs 14k for the Cuban revolution, and there are almost twice as many people in Chile. Add the political repression in Cuba to this day, and net-net, Pinochet was not nearly as bad as Che (plus, Che personally executed many, he liked it).

In America, we also take a very soft, humanitarian approach to dealing with drug cartels. Only in America, we refer to the cartels as “pharmaceutical companies.”

Yeah pharmaceutical companies are cutting people's heads off just like the barbaric Mexican drug cartels who learned it from their barbaric Aztec ancestors.

So we can conservatively estimate that America’s pharmaceutical companies are responsible for twice the annual death toll as Mexican drug cartels.

Yeah pharmaceutical companies are cutting people’s heads off just like the barbaric Mexican drug cartels who learned it from their barbaric Aztec ancestors.

Who flooded massive quantities of opium into China?

I think it is narrowly possible that Mexicans might be natural conservatives past some selection threshold. No wall and not much of a selection process doesn't help, nor do I see the Democrats working to change that. But what if you only took in the Mexican middle class, or only took in the skilled? Maybe, just maybe they would narrowly be conservatives.

The reason I speculate so is that Filipinos seem to vote Republican.

You are quite right to dismiss the rhetoric though. It has always struck me as being phony, and about trying to sell the idea of open borders.

Making money by getting people addicted to fatal painkillers is a very violent act. It's an act that was supported by huge numbers of pharmaceutical sales reps, executives, and investors. It was aided and abetted by government figures (regulators, politicians, bureaucrats) who were paid off by Big Pharma.

It may be a "cleaner" form of homicide. Just like shooting someone is "cleaner" than stabbing them to death. Doesn't change the intent or the outcome.

Not all homicides in Mexico are cartel or narco related. There bar fights, personal squabbles and domestic violence in Mexico, like anywhere else in the World.

Estimates of the portion of homicides related to the drug wars, range from about one-third to one-half.

"College students really haven’t romanticized Che Guevera since the 80s. Most college students have never heard of Che Guevera."

You must be living in a shack in the woods like Jason Voorhees. Go to any college campus in The U.S in 2018 and you will still see students wearing Che Guevara t-shirts. I live in close proximity to Berkeley, California so I know what I'm talking about.

The most popular t-shirts on college campuses in 2018 are Che Guevara, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, No Borders, No Human Is Illegal, Impeach Trump, and Trump Is Hitler.

Campus cultures vary pretty widely, with Berkeley being among the most “progressive.” Along with the Upper West Side of NYC with Columbia U., Northampton, Mass. with it’s nest of Smithies and U-Massters (avoid the large ladies in berets, trust me); Oberlin, OH, where apparently even the Juggalos, the official state hominids, fear to tread. And so on.

But if 40% of today’s college-age kids did stumble upon Che in some elective course’s readings, or by wandering through a library while trying to find a place to grab a few Zs, they’d probably dig him, if only because it was considered cool, and another way to pick up girls. For the more morose girls, the type that used to like The Smiths, revolution and resistance is almost as good as having a cute little puppy on the Quad or Commons.

But at good schools, there are very many good students. Intellectually curious kids with quality educational backgrounds. They’re in the more difficult, more obscure classes.

Older Cubans seemed to be mostly one issue – against the regime. I am not surprised in the least that the younger ones mostly turned.

Have you ever noticed that the term Nonblack is rarely used in the mainstream media compared to Nonwhite? Heck even here on The Unz the term Nonwhite is used way more than the term Nonblack.

"Maybe, become something like blue-dog Democrats but under a separate party."

Blue dog Democrats are almost completely extinct in 2018 because the vast majority of them just refer to themselves as Republicans at this point. And they are overwhelmingly White and old because they were old enough to cast their vote for Ronald Reagan in 1980. So the "youngest" blue dog Democrat was born in 1962 and the oldest blue dog Democrat is Kirk Douglas level old.

NONE of the Millennial and Generation Z Democrats are blue dogs because they are all WOKE like Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg.

I have never taken an illicit drug in my life (nor a licit drug illicitly) but I don't think you seem to understand how drugs and particularly opiates work.

They overmaster the will and the intellect - they make the addict violently physically ill without them.

Of course the best life stratagem is to never try opiates under any circumstances. But you're leaving a very small margin of error for a whole lot of people who got hooked under excusable circumstances.

Jorge Ramos even had a heated debate on Fox News back in 2014 where he sided with Michael Brown and the Ferguson rioters over Darren Wilson.

Jorge Ramos is a Left Winger across the political board, not just on immigration.

Dishonest&stupid journalist Chris Mathews lied and claimed he was against the Iraq War. He also claimed the American media covered the Iraq War honestly and fairly.

However, Jorge Ramos pointed out that media irresponsibility and pliability were a major factor in enabling the Bush administration to sell the Iraq War to the general public. Watch at 1:10.

Older Cubans seemed to be mostly one issue - against the regime. I am not surprised in the least that the younger ones mostly turned.

I think there is hope though, that some of these other groups could be split from blacks eventually. Maybe, become something like blue-dog Democrats but under a separate party.

“I think there is hope though, that some of these other groups could be split from blacks eventually.”

The U.S is turning into an all of the Nonwhites gang up on the Whites nation, not a all of the Nonblacks gang up on the Blacks nation.

Have you ever noticed that the term Nonblack is rarely used in the mainstream media compared to Nonwhite? Heck even here on The Unz the term Nonwhite is used way more than the term Nonblack.

“Maybe, become something like blue-dog Democrats but under a separate party.”

Blue dog Democrats are almost completely extinct in 2018 because the vast majority of them just refer to themselves as Republicans at this point. And they are overwhelmingly White and old because they were old enough to cast their vote for Ronald Reagan in 1980. So the “youngest” blue dog Democrat was born in 1962 and the oldest blue dog Democrat is Kirk Douglas level old.

NONE of the Millennial and Generation Z Democrats are blue dogs because they are all WOKE like Emma Gonzalez and David Hogg.

The people that Che killed were POC. Even if they were reactionary, revanchist, capitalist pig running dogs, they were still POC and the kids get a bit queasy talking’ bout doing violence again ‘em.

Now if he had had the foresight to attack, physically as well as politically, some of them white Anglo cavemen, well sir, you might be seeing more t shirts and more little Hispanix carrying his name.

Better watch out, it's brutal out there if you wear Bad Symbols:

The most popular t-shirts on college campuses in 2018 are Che Guevara, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, No Borders, No Human Is Illegal, Impeach Trump, and Trump Is Hitler.

No matter what Amazon's censorship policies become, we can sell our stuff for a better profit elsewhere.

"What I really need right now is a beer, some crack, and a fucking blow job."

It cracks me up to this day. Nope, I didn't have the room to get back in front of him and smap a picture. There are big, big markets for Australian (I'm guessing) practical jokers in the Far East. There's money to be lost, but fun for the whole family.

That’s pretty damn funny. It reminds me of my sister telling me about how she was once at a Catholic mass in Cape Verde and the lay reader was wearing a t-shirt that simply said “F____ You.”

Mexicans overwhelmingly voted for a Left Wing Socialist to become the new president of Mexico. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador won by a HUGE LANDSIDE over his opponents, it was not even a close nail biter finish. He politically massacred the competition.

The natural conservatism of a socialist landslide.

Of course the best life stratagem is to never try opiates under any circumstances. But you’re leaving a very small margin of error for a whole lot of people who got hooked under excusable circumstances.

Mexicans overwhelmingly voted for a Left Wing Socialist to become the new president of Mexico. Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador won by a HUGE LANDSIDE over his opponents, it was not even a close nail biter finish. He politically massacred the competition.

AMLO is the first left-of-center politician elected President in Mexico in generations, so it’s hard to use this election result to make a general statement about the ideological leanings of the majority of Mexicans.

People who say the PRI party (or even Mexico) is socialist, have no idea what they’re talking about. It’s a mildly nationalist party that supports free trade, little or no social spending and keeping taxes very low.

AMLO is certainly to the left, but his coalition contains the most right wing party in the country, PES. He’s personally against abortion and gay rights.

His new Foreign Minister said during the campaign that the immigration mess in the US “is Mexico’s fault, it’s not the fault of the United States.”

    https://www.reuters.com/article/us-mexico-election/mexico-leftists-pitch-to-trump-growth-not-walls-to-fix-migration-idUSKBN1J611I

But the election was not about Trump, immigration or the border. It was about corruption, violence and income inequality in Mexico.

"The Mexican cartels kill about 25,000 people per year."

Actually it was over 29,000 in 2017.

    https://www.google.com/amp/amp.timeinc.net/time/5111972/mexico-murder-rate-record-2017

"In America, over 60,000 people overdose per year."

Suicides and overdoses are not the same as homicides and they are not a good indicator of how violent a nation is. No one put a gun to these people's heads and forced them to become junkies or suicidal.

By your retarded logic Japan for example is a much more violent country than Mexico because suicides are way more common in Japan than in Mexico.

Also saying the pharmaceutical company are committing murder is like saying fast food companies have blood on their hands and are also in the business of murder because obesity on average kills almost 600,000 Americans a year, way more than the number of people who die from opioids on a yearly basis.

Ronald McDonald, Col. Sanders, The Burger King Mascot, the ginger haired chick Wendy, and the sassy Black woman from the Popeyes commercials are murdering way more Americans per year than the pharmaceutical companies are.

“The Mexican cartels kill about 25,000 people per year.”

Actually it was over 29,000 in 2017.

Not all homicides in Mexico are cartel or narco related. There bar fights, personal squabbles and domestic violence in Mexico, like anywhere else in the World.

Estimates of the portion of homicides related to the drug wars, range from about one-third to one-half.

His amnesty proposal is beginning to take some form now, with some of his incoming security team fleshing things out a bit.

The proposal with not apply to violent criminals. The proposal is being directed at young people, farmers and old folks that may have been recruited into helping the cartels against their will – a not unheard of phenomenon.

And his incoming Interior Minister is discussing some legalization proposals.

He’s looking for new ideas for the interminable drug war. That’s probably a good thing, right?

“Why did Jorge Ramos vote for Hillary Clinton? Why did Jorge Ramos not see Hillary Clinton as a warmonger?”

Because American “politics” isn’t about policy. It’s about tribal affinity, pure and simple. Same reason why Obama beat Hillary in 2008 (the black vote), Hillary beat Bernie in 2016 (the black vote), and Ms. Chavez beat that white guy in New York in 2018 (the non-white vote).

It just astonishes me that people can’t see the obviousness of that. Look at racial voting patterns in diverse states. If only whites were allowed to vote, the GOP would have a shot at winning California even. They don’t because they don’t have enough whites there, even though California whites are quite different from Mississippi whites policy wise.

I wasn’t going to tell this one, but we had driven > 100 miles away from home on a day-long rode trip and stopped for gas and nabs. I had a new T-shirt that said “Fuck XXX” about 25 times in a square where XXX was a number of different things, written sideways up-and-down, etc. (yeah, I was in college, so cut me some slack). We ran into my brother’s church group at the gas station!

By burying them in tomato, lettuce, onions, etc, and at the larger ones, sauerkraut, I can turn an $.89 hot dog into a nearly free salad.

And now the Washington Post. LOL

Mexican president-elect Andrés Manuel López Obrador has sported many nicknames throughout his rise to power: AMLO, “the American” and “Peje,” a kind of feisty, freshwater fish common in his home state of Tabasco. At the White House, however, the 64-year-old leftist reportedly has gone by a different name: “Juan Trump.”

Mark Feierstein, who was special assistant to President Barack Obama and a former senior director for Western Hemisphere affairs at the National Security Council, wrote in Americas Quarterly last week that Trump “sees a bit of his renegade self in AMLO, privately calling the Mexican politician ‘Juan Trump.’ ” Feierstein attributed Trump’s purported remarks to “a senior government official.”

The White House and the State Department declined to comment.

According to Feierstein, Trump is purported to have used the term “Juan Trump” more than once in the months leading up to López Obrador’s election on July 1, reportedly using the nickname to ask aides how the leftist candidate was faring in the race. Trump, who congratulated López Obrador on his victory even before the official results were released, reportedly sees many parallels between himself and the anti-establishment populist. If the report about the “Juan Trump” nickname is true, it would suggest that Trump sees López Obrador as a Mexican version of himself.

Steve doesn’t want Latin Americans coming to America (nor do I), yet he calls someone a murderer who tried to challenge the Latin Oligarchy.

So my question is do we support Latins trying to improve their countries, do we want them all to move here, or do we just burn the western hemisphere to the ground?

Next time I am on a college campus, I should wear my “Viva POUM” shirt. It evens has a hammer and cykle on it. That should scare the children. I bought it because Philosophy football was all out of their International Brigade shirt. I have been trying to get them to do a Mick Mannock shirt- “King of the airfighters.” He doesn’t seem socialist enough.
