Only a dumb fish would complain if a man were to say: “I never eat fish, and I do not intend to eat fish”. Only the dumbest fish would condemn the man as a bigot: “What! He does not like us!” And yet, our Muslim American friends apparently emulate the stupid fish when speaking of Donald Trump.

I spoke well of Trump. My Radical Muslim American friend screamed on a list serve: “And what about his racist remarks about Muslims that are akin to those made about Jews not all that long ago? Shall we accept him on that basis as well as his sick stand on overweight women? Do we overlook all that???????????????????!!!!!”

He referred to Trump’s idea to ban Muslims from migrating to the US. Indeed this sounds awful, and the comparison with Jews has been made often.

However, I’ll tell you: if Trump would promise to ban the Russians (instead of Muslims) from migrating to the US, these sensible people would applaud him vigorously instead of calling him a bigot. If he were to send back home all the Russians who migrated since 1990, they would name streets after him. For two reasons:

1) Migration to the US is a serious brain-drain and a problem for Russia – and for all other nations as well. Well-educated specialists, doctors and engineers, technicians and accountants leave their home countries and bring their precious human capital to the US.

2) What’s worse, many important Russians prepare to leave for the US, and whatever they do at home is done for the good of the US, rather than for the good of their own country.

Look, for instance, at Mr Andrei Kozyrev, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, and now a happy burgher of Florida. He was a predecessor of mighty Sergey Lavrov and a successor to the iron man Andrei Gromyko, “Mr Nyet”, but he could be called “Mr Da”, Da being Yes in Russian.

A full paid and owned CIA agent in his position would never be able to wreck as much damage to Russia as Mr Kozyrev did. He was the man who brought NATO eastwards, all the way to Russian border. He was the man who withdrew the Russian Army from Germany without any strings attached. He said that national interests (of Russia) are of no importance next to human (read: Western) values. He supported sanctions and the tribunal on Serbia, he stopped Cuban trade and almost destroyed Cuba. He sold his country down the river, and now he lives in the US and advises the government how can they overthrow Mr Putin and institute “regime change”.

It would be nice if Mr Trump were to deport Mr Kozyrev and his ilk back to his Mother Russia. This would teach present-day-Kozyrevs to remain loyal to their country. Russians would applaud the blessed bigotry of the new American president.

What is true regarding the Russians, is also true regarding the Muslims, and all the rest. Immigration is a way to accept turncoats and to pick brains. A good Muslim doctor moves to the US: this means a Muslim country will have to do without a doctor. A Muslim politician moves to the US: this means the man worked for the US benefit for many years.

You know immigration is bad for the receiving country’s workers, but immigration is bad for the donor countries, as well. If I were an American Muslim (and I am neither), I’d vote for Mr Trump because of his promise to ban Muslim immigration. If I care for Mexico, I’d vote for Mr Trump because of his promise to build the wall between the states. Via this porous border the US sucks out most dynamic men and women from Mexico.

Yes, but what about comparison with the Jews? Indeed, the US would be much better off with less Jewish immigration, as well. There would be fewer Nulands and Kagans, fewer neo-cons, fewer AIPAC activists and ADL enforcers. Can you imagine the US without Abe Foxman’s influence? The Hollywood without Holocaust films? The US without the Iraq war, the US without its Israel Lobby? Isn’t it a dream? Isn’t it worth to overlook bigotry for such a goal?

Anyway, bigotry is a new-fangled offence, an offence our fathers were blissfully unaware of. It is an invention of our days. Indeed old sunburned British colonels in India were described as “bigots”, but it was not a strong epithet, rather on the level of “buffoon”. The Jews never are bigots: they do not allow Palestinians even to use the same highways the Jews use in their Jewish state, but they are no bigots, oh no. This social offence is a mortal sin for Gentiles only, for if today a man would refer to a Muslim or a Black as such, tomorrow he may call a Jew – “Jew”, God save us from such eventuality.

There is no harm to be described as a Black, or an Anglo, or a Jew. These are old venerable communities, alas, disintegrating now under the onslaught of mass migration and neoliberal robbery. Each one of them supplied their best sons and daughters for the common good, while their worst sons tried to pinch what they could for their own benefit. Only a silly man would act on cue the moment he hears his community is referred to in less than flattering terms.

I was impressed by Trump hesitating to condemn David Duke, the man whose condemnation is de rigeur because some forty years ago he was a card-carrying member of the Ku-Klux-Klan. Forty years is a very long time, but David Duke is forever barred from participation in discourse for he was a KKK leader, but Yossi Halevy, an ex-member of the Kahane Gang (equally racist) writes for the New Republic. Amitai Etzioni, a tenured professor at George Washington University, called for nuclear world war. David Duke never reached this level of bestiality, but he is excluded from discourse while they are not. Trump is really a strong brave man if he dared to hesitate a second before condemning Duke. Now he can swallow poisonous snakes and drink liquid fire.

ORDER IT NOW

Trump said the Muslims danced for joy on 9/11. Well, not only Muslims but all the World outside of the US was pleased with the fall of the Twin Towers. The French thinker Baudrillard penned “We all wanted it.” I wrote about 9/11:

They [the perpetrators] could be practically anybody: American Nationalists, American Communists, American Fundamentalist Christians, American Anarchists, anybody who rejects the twin gods of the dollar and the M-16, who hates the stock market and interventions overseas, who dreams of America for Americans, who does not want to support the drive for world domination. They could be Native Americans returning to Manhattan, or Afro-Americans who still have not received compensation for slavery.

They could be foreigners of practically any extraction, as Wall Street and the Pentagon ruined many lives of people all over the globe. Germans can remember the fiery holocaust of Dresden with its hundreds of thousands of peaceful refugees incinerated by the US Air Force. Japanese will not forget the nuclear holocaust of Hiroshima. The Arab world still feels the creeping holocaust of Iraq and Palestine. Russians and East Europeans feel the shame of Belgrade avenged. Latin Americans think of American invasions of Panama and Granada, of destroyed Nicaragua and defoliated Colombia. Asians count their dead of Vietnam war, Cambodia bombings, Laos CIA operations in millions. Even a pro-American, Russian TV broadcaster could not refrain from saying, ‘now Americans begin to understand the feelings of Baghdad and Belgrade’.

They could be anybody who lost his house to the bank, who was squeezed from his work and made permanently unemployed, who was declared an Untermensch by the new Herrenvolk. They could be Russians, Malaysians, Mexicans, Indonesians, Pakistanis, Congolese, Brazilians, Vietnamese, as their economy was destroyed by the duo of Wall Street and the Pentagon. They could be anybody, and they are everybody. Their identity is quite irrelevant as their message is more important than their personalities, and their message is read loud and clear in the choice of targets.

So Mr Trump was not wrong, after all: millions of Muslims, among others, were happy at that day. Surely not all, but he never said all.

If I were a self-conscious American Muslim, one who cares for Islam, I’d say to myself: which candidate, if elected, will do less harm to the Ummah, to the Muslim world? Should I support the lady who was so beastly joyous at watching the horrible brutal death of a Muslim ruler, Muammar Gadhafi? Should I support the lady who will do this week her star appearance at AIPAC conference, pledging to do Israel’s bidding for the next four years? Or, for that matter, should I support Ted Cruz who takes his orders in Tel Aviv, or should I rather support the man whom Cruz accused of being an enemy of Israel?

Surely this was a wrongful accusation; Trump has Jewish sons-in-law; but still, nobody yet accused other candidates of ever failing to do Israel’s will.

In my view, the faults usually ascribed to Mr Trump are really minor. Buffoon? Narcissus? Bigot? Who cares. The next you’ll say his personal hygiene is nor perfect. That he farts in public. Such accusations would be of value while picking a guest to stay over weekend.

We are in front of two huge trials of totally different magnitude. Dirty nails and loud farting do not come close to that. And the next US president will have to deal with that.

The Pentagon asks for a cool trillion dollars to create a brand new generation of nuclear weapons. They call it “upgrading”, but experts say these are new weapon systems, more deadly, more precise and more likely to be used. This is a new Hiroshima in making, and this time perhaps the Russian bodies will flay in the nuclear heat, while the Americans will be incinerated by the new generation of Russian missiles. President Obama, God bless him, did not authorise it yet. We – and I mean the world, not the squeamish scribes – need to stop this program dead. Donald Trump is likely to avoid this folly. For this price, he can call me a kike all day long, if it suits him.

The US administration initiated three programs: TISA, TPP, TTIP; if completed, they will enslave mankind and kill the vestiges of democracy we enjoy. Obama’s Democrats are pushing for it. This is really even more dangerous than the nuclear weapons of new generation. This monster has to be stopped. Donald Trump is likely to do it, for these programs are the epitome of whatever he fought against.

These two items are most urgent and more important than any complaint against Trump. He does not like obese women? Who cares? Let the obese women manage without Mr. Trump’s adoration, if he will stop these evil designs.

President Trump is not likely to continue with the manoeuvres in South Korea, this touchy trigger of a nuclear war. Now tens of thousands of US troops are exercising in South Korea how to kill the president of North Korea. I do not joke and I do not exaggerate. This is the described aim of the manoeuvres, and they drive the North Korea president mad. Coming after the Sony-made and the State Department influenced film describing assassination of him, this is not surprising. If Trump will forget about North Korea, he will be the president I like.

ORDER IT NOW

Trump said he will not tear up the Iran nuclear agreement; he will not fight till the last Syrian to remove Bashar Assad. If he will, let him say what he wants about fat women, even the most upsetting things. My aunt, a doctor, used to say there were no fat women in concentration camps, so it can’t be a disease. This is probably sufficiently bad taste.

I am not sure whether any argument will work against billions of dollars the US super-rich spend on their ads against Trump. However, give it a thought: these nasty super-rich are not known for their benevolence. If they are ready to spend so much money to stop Trump, perhaps we need to support Trump?

In any case, we shall be disappointed. Marry, and you will regret it; do not marry, you will regret it, – said the Danish philosopher Kierkegaard. So you can marry, and yes, you can vote for Trump – even if you will be disappointed. Because if you vote for Clinton (or God preserve us, Cruz) you will head into nuclear disaster and enslavement of mankind. Trump is a long shot for sanity, but it is better than a sure disaster.

Unfortunately the US seems like an ocean liner headed for an iceberg but whose momentum in that direction can’t be turned around in time. It has this inner drive for expansion which has gained it much but what has worked up until recently won’t necessarily work in the future; a balloon can only expand so much before it pops. Increasing inner deterioration and rot combined with external overreach is pretty much a standard formula for collapse. As with the balloon analogy it’s often not apparent that limits have been reached until it actually does blow. An American collapse would be really ugly, a collapsed state with nuclear weapons.
Were Trump to actually become president and do what people are hoping he’ll do then we’ll have an eight year pause. They’ll be plotting all the while to recapture the presidency and regain the upper hand. There’s trillions of dollars at stake here, the wealth of the world won’t be relinquished willingly. I just can’t see them letting it all slip out of their hands for piffling reasons such as an election, sentimental delusions about democracy or values or any other such abstractions.

  2. Thank you Mr. Shamir, for looking past the farcical distractions to the very dire ramifications at stake in this election. I suspect war with Russia being among the most important to avoid.

And there is virtually no other reason for our saber rattling at Putin’s Russia other than the blind and infinite hubris of the corrupt, Israeli-uber alles- oligarchs in control of the West. Trump is the only man on the world’s stage with the nads to stand up to these unscrupulous bastards. This is all far, far more imperative to the people of this planet than whether or not Trump says politically incorrect things about Muslims or Mexicans or fat people.

Sure, Islam has a right to point a finger at the US and it’s NATO stooges for the evil they have wrought on so many Muslims (obviously on Israel’s behalf). But under whose administration is the Golan Heights likely to remain part of Assad’s Syria, or be handed fee simple over to Israel?

That’s a choice I’d like to hear answered from some of our Islamic friends.

If they had their say, would they prefer a US president that kept the borders of the US open to Muslims (and everyone else) but also continued destroying Muslim country after Muslim country? Butchering and slaughtering and ‘droning’ and maiming and displacing millions upon millions?

We all know Hillary and Cruz are in Israeli’s pocket. We know they will rain down horrors upon Old Testament horrors on the Muslims of the Middle East and elsewhere. We know they intend to, and will cause further destabilization and atrocities, more death and more misery. They will be held back by nothing. The congress is their amen corner, the media their cheerleaders. The only thing blocking them from a complete and absolute Zionist boot stamping on all of Islam’s face- is going to be president Putin’s ball sack. And that’s where this is all heading, a confrontation between Putin and Bibi (who, as you know is under the stern supervision of the ultra-orthodox Jews in the Knesset. And they’re not a very nuanced group, but rather are motivated by mindless religious/racial supremacist zealotry) It does not bode well.

Muslims more than any other group should be singing Donald Trump’s praises to the high heavens and contributing to his campaign and thanking God or Allah or Whomever they pray to- for this one tiny chance at hope for their world. Otherwise it’s more of the same. More completely corrupt quislings like the House of Saud and that vile little ‘sultan’ in Turkey and the lap dog “king” in Jordan and death and misery in Iraq and Libya and Syria and every where else they’re able to stamp their Zio-boot on Islam’s face.

How many of those horrors would be possible if the president of the United States had no intention of playing along? We all know the answer to that question, don’t we. And watching Billy Kristol wetting his pants is every reason on this earth to thank God Almighty that someone, somehow, is giving us all reason for hope!

But instead, rather than being concerned about their homelands and their religion and their women and children, they’re more interested in getting in the ‘victim’ bandwagon of the West, and demanding to be treated with politically correct kid gloves when it comes to immigration.

    Sad but true.

  3. In endorsing Israel Shamir’s thought-provoking arguments in favor of Trump’s WH bid, you have raised some more thoughtful points, especially for US Muslims to consider dispassionately, to not lose sight of the forest for the trees so to speak, as has Mr. Shamir.

    Well done. Thanks.

  5. But Trump is it despicable liar who can’t be trusted with anything he says. His primary position is self aggrandisment. Which means all others policies are malleable, and likely to change on the whims of his popularity or not taking criticism. What a joke to treat anything he says as a principal position.

And he is a coward who has shown no inclination towards resisting the Pentagon, CIA, NSA or any other aspects of the deep state if he becomes president.

  6. we’re all in agreement about the fact that Trump can’t be trusted. The problem is that the other candidates CAN be trusted in their belligerence, especially Hillary who would be looking to clear the tracks she’s left as Secretary of State.

Fine article by one of the greatest writers of our time.

In fact, every people on earth would oppose a people of different heritage, different values and different faith to come into their nation in sufficient numbers to change the fundamental values and composition of the country.

In addition, the competing and conflicting populations is more often than not a recipe of human strife, hatreds and even civil conflict and warfare. The record is clear.

The reason why I am demonized by the Jewish-dominated, Zionist media in America is not because of my views on immigration and preserving traditional values in America.

It is clearly because I the most outspoken America political figure who says that not only should Israel not be our ally, but that America should boycott this nation for its human rights crimes and massacres, its massive ethnic cleansing, its orchestration of constant warfare in the Mideast and wars for Israel (such as the Iraq War) that have killed millions, caused enormous human suffering, and the suffering of hundreds of thousands of Americans who suffered for Jewish media lies and political influence in the USA.

I have shared the valid and horrific case of Palestinians to countless millions of Europeans and Americans. (250,000 individual videos of my work and interviews over the years with over 1.2 Billion views and an average 90 percent positive rating – Google Analytics)

No matter how one evolves in their life, no matter how much good work someone does, anyone who dares to criticize Israel and the worldwide Zionist tribalism that makes Israel’s crimes go unpunished will subject to unending hatred.

Dr. David Duke on Unz writing on a comment section of an Israel Shamir article.

Two rather extraordinary personalities I’ve often read over the years with much respect and gratitude- both for your respective efforts and perspectives, grace and mastery of your subject, and especially your powerful defense of human dignity. Which is something worth defending.

I cyber bow to both of you gentlemen of peace and earnest seekers (and speakers) of truth

What the Palestinians have endured for generations is mind-numbing. That these people will take their arrogance and threats and aggression right up to Russia’s gates, is even more mind-numbing. That everyone seems to go along with it, perhaps even more so.

Who needs vino when you have reality, (I ask, rhetorically ; )

  10. “And yet, our Muslim American friends apparently emulate the stupid fish when speaking of Donald Trump.”

    Yes ,Muslims are stupid. ”
    But what explains ours?
Bush can be ridiculed and criticized by Trump . Americans can silently and openly agree with him.but it was all after the fact. Hindsight 20/20 present even among the def and the blind.

But how one does explain the support Clinton enjoys despite her failure as a senator and as Secretary of State? How Bush could be sacrificed and demonized while she can roam around the stage despite descipable and illegal abuses of power ,despite orchestrating the genocidal wars in Libya and Syria?
Right in front of their misty eyes woth their helps, another only more intelligent Bush going to win a 3 rd term. Its no wonder Cheney supports her.

I personally believe that this only can be explained by the peravasive fear of being ridiculed, shunned, and ignored as leftist ot peaceniks or truthers and by obstruction at very level and at every area against the free discussion on 911 and on Iraq war.

A fundamentally open discussion on war will open a can of bad worms and will make us uneasy.

It’s probably false that David Duke is “forever barred from participation in discourse.” If he were to clearly renounce his extreme political views and actions and moved to a mainstream-right position, as Yossi Halevy clearly renounced his own and moved to the mainstream right, he’d probably be let in.

In fact, part of Halevy’s gimmick is that he is a former Kahanist. I’ll bet that if David Duke were to renounce his racism and anti-Semitism, he’d become a sought-after commentator. He’d really bring in the ratings.

I know that Detective Mark Fuhrman, of OJ Simpson fame, was (is?) an occasional commentator on Fox News. And he probably committed perjury when he said he’d never said “nigger.” So past indiscretions aren’t a disqualification.

I have no idea how sincere Trump is, and I certainly don’t trust him, but I like his nationalism.

We hear of all these Prog-GLOB activists and ideologues yammering about how they wanna SAVE THE WORLD, but the idea of saving the world is as arrogant, hubris-laden, and imperialist as the idea of CONQUERING THE WORLD.

No nation, let alone individual, can conquer the world.
No nation, let alone individual, can save the world.

What most people can do is try to make their own homeland a better place. That is work enough, and that is what people should be concentrating on.

A world full of people who take care of their own nations is a world saved.
A world full of people who neglect their own nations to save the world is a world lost.

Germans and Swedes neglect their own nations while trying to save the world.
In the end, they will lose their nation and fail to save the world.

It’s like the story of the dog with bone in its mouth look at its own reflection.
Savor the bone in your mouth. Don’t go chasing after illusions.

Because, how arrogant to believe that you or your people can save the world? I mean are you or your people so special and wonderful that you have such power?
Such must be asked of prog-glob fools.

Trump also enjoys the support of Louis Farrakhan, Mike Tyson, Dennis Rodman, Herschel Walker, and now Ben Carson, but nobody is making an issue of that. Don’t want to confuse the Black Lives Matter crowd being used to disrupt Trump rallies.

  16. But how one does explain the support Clinton enjoys despite her failure as a senator and as Secretary of State?

Clinton didn’t “fail” the right people–she did exactly what they wanted. That’s why they still back her: she has proven herself to be their faithful servant.

And yet, despite your work, nobody in the West cares about the Palestinians. The only people who you ever see rallying for the Palestinians are either Arabs, Muslims, Neo-Nazis or Left wing wackos (MoveOn, CodePink, Occupy, etc. types). 99%+ of westerners don’t give a shit what happens to the Palestinians, and all your work is for naught. Even in Russia where you consider yourself a rockstar of sorts the reaction of the public to Israeli “crimes” is one of overwhelming apathy.

No matter how one evolves in their life, no matter how much good work someone does, anyone who dares to criticize Israel and the worldwide Zionist tribalism that makes Israel’s crimes go unpunished will subject to unending hatred.

But that’s the thing, Davey boy: nobody hates you. You are too irrelevant to hate. Most Jews likely don’t even know who you are.

As for the morons here fantasizing that Muslims will support Trump because he is better for the Palestinians: 1. Trump is not better for the Palestinians. He doesn’t care about them at all. and 2. Even if he was, Muslims wouldn’t care. They will never support somebody who wants to restrict Islamic immigration, no matter how pro Palestinian they were. That is why they don’t support the UKIP or the National Front.

from the clinton camp and the neocon repubs.

not sure why trump is blaming bernie.

  25. Trump is opposed to broken borders, invasion by illegal immigrants, rise in crime, qualified Americans displaced in favor of cheaper labor … how is that “bigotry”?

Israel Shamir makes a good case for keeping talent at home, but slips in a backhand with the word “bigotry” that’s not exactly a blessing.

  26. This is exactly what I’ve been saying for years, i.e. that immigration to the US hurts the source countries and that Leftist cries of “bigotry” are either shortsighted or self-serving, probably both.

I’m glad others are starting to say the same things.

  27. Your point on the brain drain is something that is simply not made often enough. Emigration, for the most part, hurts a nation. Besides the brain drain and possible treason you mention, there is also the effect of releasing discontent- people leave their country instead of struggling to make it right, so to speak, and in this sense prolong the agony of their country.

Thus, I’d like to add, to Russians and Muslims, that nationalist Mexicans should be if Trump is elected and manages to reduce emigration from Mexico to the US, unless they’re dreaming of colonizing the US, that is.

  28. Perhaps you could show us a candidate not a despicable liar. I think despicable liar certainly describes HRC and given Rubio’s “malleable” views on immigration reform, I would say he fits that description also. Cruz, who knows? Sanders? Clueless leftist buffoon. Liar? Maybe.

  29. You are correct about people not caring about Palestinians and in addition actually, few people, outside of jews and nutty “end times” evangelicals care about Israel either. They coudn’t find it on a map, couldn’t name it’s capitol and would probably be really pissed if they knew how many of their tax dollars go to that “shitty little country” (as Daniel Bernard called it).

Muslim legal immigration should be banned forever because Muslim “Americans” are voting the Historic Native Born White American Majority into a violently persecuted racial minority in post-white ecoli infested toilet bowl “America”. This is far worse by many orders of magnitude than what happened on 9/11.

I also want to deport all Israeli Nationals such as Abe Foxman.

I also want to deport the Chinese Fifth Column and Hindu Fifth Column in the US.

    Israel Shamir

You miss a very fundamental fact about LEGAL IMMIGRATION. LEGAL IMMIGRANTS are a nonwhite fifth column colonizing force that allows nations such as China, India, Iran, and Pakistan to colonize Native Born White American Living and Breeding Space. And this allows the racial-genetic borders of China,India,Iran, and Pakistan to extend deep into the US. This is a great benefit to the sending Nations. China and India now own Silicon Valley….and SUNY STONY BROOK.

Therefore, I reject your altruistic argument for mass deportations. All I care about are the racial interests of The Historic Native Born White American Majority Working Class.

But then it was Sunnis who Bush stomped into the DU contaminated rubble of Iraq and handed that strategic gem of Islam over to the Shias. Maybe they’re too stupid to remember that, and are just caught up in the frenzy of bloodlust against those ‘apostates’ in Damascus!

    It all seems so tragic.

The Anglos and the Zionists have been cynically using and abusing Islam and Muslims for over a hundred years now. Arbitrarily drawing up their borders to insure tribal and religious strife, imposing corrupt leaders and/or assassinating the Muslim leaders who’re (miraculously) not corrupt, stealing their land and their natural resources, murdering their children for sport and generally treating them as less than human, or worse. And then after all of that, you have all these young men from all over the world who want to join ISIS in order to kill other Muslims!

Six organizations that work with young Somalis in Minnesota have been awarded $300,000 in grants as part of a federal pilot project designed to combat terrorism recruitment

    http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory/somali-organizations-receive-grants-combat-terrorism-37557178

listening to all the anti-Trump hysteria, I can’t help but wonder what Gadhafi, (perhaps one of the best Muslim/Arab leaders to have come about in a century) would have thought of the choice between Donald Trump vs. Hillary Clinton.

Let’s remember, Hillary is going to be very much in favor of Libyans (and everyone else) flooding into N. America and Europe, so with that in mind, should Libyans support a Hillary presidency? (can you imagine?!)

Donald Trump on the other hand has repudiated all these contrived wars based on lies and all the terrible suffering and the mindless folly of all that wasted money. He wants a sensible foreign policy and he want to negotiate the Palestinian question even handedly. But, he also wants a border and plays in some ways to his base who’re watching their world disappear.

As for the educated Muslims with skills, like the Indians and Asians and all the rest, if we need their skills or could benefit from their brains, Donald Trump has said his border will have a big, beautiful door. I guess that goes to one of the points of your article, that Muslims should be glad someone isn’t taking all their human capital out of their home countries. But instead, all the Muslim voices I hear are all just incensed because he called for restrictions on Muslim immigration.

    http://www.cair.com/

Are they all that blinded by American style identity politics?

If given a choice between Hillary vs. Trump, which would they actually pick?

    I just checked…

    http://www.cair.com/press-center/press-releases/13423-cair-super-tuesday-poll-shows-muslim-voters-support-hillary-clinton-concerned-about-islamophobia.html

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, today released the results of a six-state “Super Tuesday” poll of almost 2000 Muslim voters indicating that almost half of those voters (46 percent) support Hillary Clinton, followed by Bernie Sanders at 25 percent and 11 percent support for Donald Trump.

which takes me to the query at the beginning of this (I know, long) comment…

    “Maybe they’re too stupid”

  33. Mr. Shamir, your post several months ago about the ills of modern medicine has been the best article I have read on this site (and I think this is the best site on the internet), but now you might have outdone yourself.

our Muslim American friends apparently emulate the stupid fish when speaking of Donald Trump.

These last few months have been driving me crazy, the “stupid fish-ness” of nearly every Muslim I speak to is profoundly depressing. But I have found that their initial dislike of Trump is like some Pavolvian reflex, once I make my pro-Trump arguments, many people see my point.

As you pointed out, he has at least claimed he will be neutral in the Israel-Palestine conflict, and even coyly insinuated that it is the Israeli side that is not interested in peace. He blasted the Iraq War, and mercilessly attacked Clinton for her roles in destroying Libya and Syria.

A lot of Muslims I know were offended when he made that wisecrack about Muslim women wearing burkas so they dont have to put any effort in getting ready. I loved when he said that though, because he also added that if that is how they want to dress and live, why should we care? That is all I want from American foreign policy in the Muslim world, for us to stop caring and doing anything.

If I were an American Muslim (and I am neither), I’d vote for Mr Trump because of his promise to ban Muslim immigration.

You may be neither, but I am both. And this is also one of the reasons I like Trump. In ecology, they have this concept of carrying capacity, which means for example that such and such environment can only maintain so many wildebeest (or whatever) per square mile. I think a similarity phenomenon happens with respect to minorities, with the actual carrying capacity being dependent on factors such as how politically active the minority is, whether they have a proselytizing religion etc. What good is living in this country if it becomes increasingly Balkanized with millions of people despising us? Anti-immigration sentiment is already boiling over as it is. Any ethnic/religious group is only safe in a country if they are the “alpha-male” themselves OR if the alpha-male does not view them as a threat to their continued dominance. Jews seem incapable of understanding this, much to their historical detriment. To see so many Muslims taking a page out of Jewish ethnic activism is really appalling, the short-sightedness of it all boggles the mind. White people over the last 50 years have had their lowest levels of asabiyya EVER, one would think people would realize they should not keep poke the hibernating bear with a stick.

The US without the Iraq war, the US without its Israel Lobby? Isn’t it a dream? Isn’t it worth to overlook bigotry for such a goal?

YES! Besides, I think we need to take a less Manichean view of things like bigotry. Maybe a little bigotry is a good thing thing overall, as it inoculates people from more serious bigotry. So Trump being slightly bigoted against Muslims now and banning immigration might prevent someone like Sanders or Clinton allowing unrestrained Muslim immigration for 20 years, followed by a violent backlash and possibly even ethnic cleansing. Kevin MacDonald wrote something very interesting in one of his books, he claimed that Jews suffered from less pogroms, massacres etc. in the Muslim world as compared to Europe because Muslims had a HIGHER baseline of anti-Semitic sentiment. This higher baseline prevented Jews from gaining high levels of political and financial clout, and so they never were able to reach a position that threatened the perceived interests of the majority, which in the long-term kept them safer!

If I were a self-conscious American Muslim, one who cares for Islam, I’d say to myself: which candidate, if elected, will do less harm to the Ummah, to the Muslim world?

If only Muslims had more spokespeople like you!!

There is no economic case for race-replacing The Historic Native Born White American Majority Working Class. And this means that there is no case for importing even one skilled Asian legal and Muslim legal immigrants…There never was.

The Asian and Muslim legal immigrants who came into the US in the 1970s were the Asian and Muslim expeditionary force that created-generated the massive nonwhite demographic Tsunami in 2016.

For the record…I want Hillary Clinton to win on Nov 8 2016..because I want a massive racialization of the Native Born White American Male Population to happen as quickly as possible. And when this happens…many things will be possible!!!

The Chinese Exclusion Act protected Native Born White American Workers. In 2016, skilled Asian legal immigrants and their US born geneline have implemented a defacto Racial Exclusion Act against Native Born White Americans in certain places and institutions on Historic Native Born White America Living and Breeding Space…and its going to get a lot worse. And Donald Trump has a warm spot in his heart for these kinds of nonwhite legal immigrants.

I have a very intense dislike of Donald Trump because of this.

2005 — Awarding of Dr. David Duke an PhD in History by the Rector and Council Secretary

Latest news **translated by H. Friedman, Kiev**
Jewish leaders in Ukraine are condemning the actions of a major university in Ukraine (MAUP) for awarding a full doctorate to the notorious American anti-Semite David Duke.
MAUP, an acronym for the largest university system in Ukraine, awarded the controversial former KKK leader and American politician, David Duke, a PhD in History after a successful completion of exams and all doctoral academic requirements, and a spirited Doctoral Defense in an art-adorned academic conference hall adjacent to the office of the MAUP President Prof. Georgy Tchokin.
    . . .
MAUP is one of the leading Universities in Ukraine as well as Eastern Europe. Formerly a national university system run by the Ukrainian government, it was privatized after the fall of communism. It has grown to over 51,000 students with branches throughout Ukraine. Cooperative arrangements exist with other universities in a number of other nations and it has the highest academic accreditation possible both in Ukraine (4) and on the international level. UNESCO recognizes the MAUP university system as one the world’s high-level educational institutions. MAUP is the source of most of the bachelor and post-graduate degrees of the Ukranian Government officials and administrators. Such influence over governmental employees disturbs many Jews in the Ukraine who are concerned about lingering anti-Semitism.

Jewish spokesmen decried Duke’s earlier Honorary Doctorate awarded him by the University and his subsequent, quiet participation in MAUP’s Post Graduate Degree Program and his recent achieving of a full doctorate. They say it is proof of the anti-Semitic stance of the university and its staff. Duke’s dissertation subject was entitled, “Zionism as a Form of Ethnic Supremacism.”
Abraham Ribacoff, who read Duke’s dissertation, which was similar to his book, Jewish Supremacism, commented, “No matter how many examinations David Duke has passed, the volume of his research, number of academic citations of his dissertation, or the cleverness of his literary style, his work libels the Jewish people. It concludes that Zionism is an ideology of ethnic supremacy and that Israel is a Jewish-supremacist state. It’s all a lie. In truth, Israel is the only true democracy in the Mideast.”
Markus Gollman of Kiev said, “No matter how camouflaged in pseudo-intellectualism his historical and scientific inquiry, for such anti-Semitic writings, he should be stripped of his Doctor’s robes and given a prison uniform. We will not rest until Duke and the fascist President of the university, Gergiev Choking, rot in jail.”
The ceremonies awarding David Duke a Doctor of Philosophy Degree in the field of history came just one day after Israel’s Ha’aretz newspaper reported that Israel formally demanded that Ukraine’s president Victor Yuschenko forbid MAUP President, Dr. Gergiev Tchokin, from being a candidate in the upcoming elections for the Ukranian Parliament.
Some members of the Jewish community though are afraid that such demands from Israel will be viewed as Israeli interference in the internal policies of Ukraine and will be seen as an attempt to stifle freedom of speech and political expression. They fear that such moves will only serve to validate the shrill claims of MAUP President Georgy Tchokin and David Duke that Israel wants to control all nations and seeks to stifle political freedom.

  36. Absolutely correct.
At least Republicans have the cajone to repudiate Cheney gang and Jeb Bush’s feeble attempts to go down that route .
Democrats are essentially saying :”Let us do it .WE do a far better job”

Muslims are sucking up with the refrain:” Dont you that how she has Huma Abdin , what Barack has in a middle name for ?”

So a sucker is born every nanosecond splitting the odds of the birth fairly among the different Goyem .

Like the Evangelics who are fighting for the Christian in Iraq/Syria or Libya because someone explained to them how the effects could predate and preexist the causes , Muslims are screaming at Donald because some of them have been given a photo-op with some expert sounding con artists on TV to tout the same logic.

  37. They’re “as stupid” – forgive me – as the evangelicals who, against their beliefs, support various American wars, and the American public in general, who against its clear interests gives up its government and finances to the military industrial complex and AIPAC. Sad.

  38. race. There are caucasian muslims (Dr. Kevin Barrett comes to mind). National origin? There are christians in the Middle East – not to mention atheists. Seems as unenforceable as the war on terror.

So, the only possible way to do this is to ban all immigration. That may be a good solution in the short term – e.g. stopping all H1B visas, but it won’t last as corporate needs will overpower that.

  39. Editing goof:

So, how exactly do you go about banning muslims? They are not a race.

  40. [Most Jews likely don’t even know who you are.]

I very much doubt that. In my experience Jews remember people like David Duke even when such people no longer remember themselves.

  42. They’re “as stupid” – forgive me – as the evangelicals

you sure got me on that one!

    blind, stupid, craven self-interest

The Muslims would sacrifice their ancient lands, their countries and families and religion to the tender mercies of Hillary- so they can play in Disney land and drive shiny cars and immerse themselves into Kim Kardashian’s angsts and triumphs. Allah Akbar!

The evangelicals will pour over their scriptures looking for some obscure justification for torturing and slaughtering and genociding Jesus Christ’s modern day Christian relatives in the Holy Land- in the blind, stupid, craven notion that if they can personally be responsible for Palestinian children being ethnically cleansed (or cut to pieces with flechette projectiles or have their skin pealed off by white phosphorous) that the Lamb of Peace is going to personally come down and give them a thousand years of rapture! Apparently for their Christian type of love and compassion for all His children.

For that thousand years of personal “rapture”, they’d be willing to flay the skin off their own children too I suspect. Such are their “Christian” sensibilities.

when it comes to sniveling and maneuvering for self interest- at the direct expense of your people, your country, your religion, your extended family, indeed, your very soul, the politicians don’t have anything on the Muslims or the evangelicals.

  47. the personalist and emotionalism of the communist, Shamir is remarkable. The Jewish communist Id on parade.

It is partially the old communist yammering about World Peace vs. World War. Moscow gold used to fund these over the top rants about Yanqui Imperialism and Soviet Peace.

“Now tens of thousands of US troops are exercising in South Korea how to kill the president of North Korea. I do not joke and I do not exaggerate. This is the described aim of the manoeuvres, and they drive the North Korea president mad. Coming after the Sony-made and the State Department influenced film describing assassination of him, this is not surprising. If Trump will forget about North Korea, he will be the president I like.”

This is more emotionalism but unfunded by Moscow, only the hysteria of an old communist soldier fading away, historically speaking.

With regard to N. Korea, the possibility of blasting its despots out of this world, if supported and mostly done by China, would be very good. win win situation for the world. I assume that bunker-buster conventional weapons would dig out the nuclear capacity and so on. It would be nice to keep the screwball despot himself alive and placed in a cage and delivered to the Hague.

Lastly, the word “bigot” may have been used in colonial India in the way Shamir says, but I doubt it. My Webster’s International of about 1960, defines ‘bigot’ as one who refuses to consider new information, etc. Nothing like “racist” and so on.

Today, if you google ‘bigot’ or any other usual contemporary source, it is all racial. Shamir and his left wing cadres for over a half-century have been busy word-smithing, that is hammering, the word bigot like in the OT , Amos as I recall, hammering the ploughshares back into swords, hammering the word in Orwellian fashion , into “racist” and especially White Racist!

Shamir is a total racial democrat, views anyone who is racialist as a nazi, like the Ukrainian nationalists are just nazis, and so on. It is the old Communist vs. Nazi Story. Nothing more , nothing less, game over, case closed.

It is of note that the only thing Shamir mentions with regard to immigration is the economistic argument of loss of professionals in Russia to the US. Not one word about what normal people think and feel…that ‘they are not like us, go home’ with regard to the Migrant disaster in Europe, about which not one word from Shamir. Denial and Obfuscation.

Also, with regard to David Duke, Duke is included in the group of ‘beasts’ : “David Duke never reached this level of bestiality..” but nevertheless is still a beast, a nazi, a KKK er. Lord of the Flies: kill the beast, kill the beast, kill the nazis, kill the racists, kill ….

Also note that there is not a single verifiable excavated mass grave that can actually be SHOWN, not just claimed, (recall the claim of 900,000 buried at Treblinka) even though Jews claim to know exactly where these allegedly enormous mass graves are.

The ‘holocaust’ storyline is one of the most easily debunked narratives ever contrived. That is why those who question it are arrested and persecuted. That is why violent, racist, & privileged Jewish supremacists demand censorship. What sort of truth is it that crushes the freedom to seek the truth? Real truth needs no protection from scrutiny.

One patently obviously conclusion from the information below — that the British intercepted detailed reports of conditions at Auschwitz — is that Eisenhower knew or could have known of the condition of inmates at the camps at the time of Germany’s reduction to chaos and defeat.
Eisenhower could have taken steps to alleviate suffering, but instead of rushing to the region with food, medicine, doctors and nurses, he sent to Hollywood for film crews, who arrived at the camps before the Red Cross.

British Intelligence Service was able to eavesdrop on almost all German military radio communications from a very early date, shortly after the outbreak of World War II. . . .

British Intelligence Service also eavesdropped on radio signals transmitted by the German police, SD and SS. This enabled the British to obtain not only reliable information on events behind the Russian Front, but on events in the German concentration camps as well. . . .

The messages from Auschwitz, the largest camp, with 20,000 inmates,4 mention disease as the chief cause of death, but also include references to executions by hanging and shooting. The decoded messages contain no references to gassings.5

Auschwitz Concentration Camp, as mentioned above, had requested a successor to their current on-duty garrison physician in August 1942. This successor, who took over in his official capacity on 6 September 1942, was Dr. Eduard Wirths. In his notes, Wirths left a vivid report on conditions in Auschwitz at that time:7

I found inconceivable inmate conditions. There was no running water, no working toilets, no way to bathe. The barracks lodging the prisoners were overfilled and there was a shortage of beds. There were masses of lice all over the floors, clothing and inmates’ bodies. The walls were black with fleas. The condition of the inmates was simply unbelievable, emaciated to their very bones, devoured by vermin, with dead bodies lying around between living inmates. Hundreds of dying inmates were taken away, but sometimes they lay around among the living for days.

It was obvious that the epidemic would spread to the guard personnel as well. The Bletchley Park intercepts reported, for example, that, on 4 September “the entire camp was subjected to quarantine”8 and “in October, 11 SS-Men were hospitalized with suspected typhus.”9

Wirths succeeded temporarily in bringing the epidemic under control by building additional barracks, infirmaries, installing additional drains and water pipes, latrines and targeted use of measures intended to combat infection:

Through the chamber of physicians [Ärztekammer], we applied for permission to distribute white bread and milk. Instead of polluted drinking water, I took care to distribute drinks such as coffee and tea. I ordered the organization of field kitchens for working inmates, due to the great distances between the worksites and their living quarters and commissaries, which meant that otherwise the workers would get no hot food all day. When the construction of field kitchens was impracticable, I had hot food delivered to the work sites by vehicle. I requested permission to allow recovering inmates to gather wild vegetables, medicinal herbs. At the same time, I wanted Jewish women confined by the camp administration to be able to move about in the open. I requested rest for physically weakened inmates, even the construction of entire rest departments.10

Obviously, fresh cases of typhus arrived in the camp with each new rail transport. Thus, on 28 January 1943, Bletchley Park issued a report to the effect that “there were 36 cases of typhus among the inmates arriving on 22 January.”11

In the summer of 1942, the first Polish and Jewish reports appeared12 alleging the commission of mass murder on an industrial scale in Auschwitz. According to these reports, 2,000 inmates were being killed in gas chambers every day. Since the number of Abgänge reported amounted to approximately 2,000 inmates per month, and not 2,000 inmates per day, the British Intelligence Service rejected these reports as war propaganda. Thus, the president of the British Joint Intelligence Committee, Victor Cavendish-Bentinck, on 27 August 1943, wrote that the reports from Poles and Jews were devoid of all basis in fact:13

The allegations of mass executions in gas chambers are reminiscent of the atrocity stories from the last war, according to which the Germans were processing corpses into fat – a grotesque lie, which was immediately unmasked as pure propaganda.”

  57. You all talk as if the US deep-state doesn’t exist. That it hasn’t already assassinated presidents that didn’t play along and hasn’t done things that the US population was against (it stamped out the occupy movement like it never happened in a brutal fashion that would make dictators all over the world proud).

If Trump gets into office he’s going to realize the presidency is nothing but a show for the plebs.

Obama is the best example of this. Obama said “Yes we can!”, the deep-state replied “STFU and sit down” and he sat down alright…

The same will apply to Trump. A billionaire? What is that? Chump change for the deep-state and those behind it. That man has scandals waiting to pop up (just like Papa-Clinton). Some cocaine-induced orgies or some shady deal with some foreign government. If they can’t find it they’ll make one.

  58. As a Muslim and American I would say that I would be totally willing to sign up for a registry and even encourage other Muslims to do the same if there was a 100% guarantee that our government would disengage from the Middle East (or Muslim World) militarily. I told one of my co-workers that.

I would easily put my liberties on the chopping block if it meant the madness would stop and that war refugees could go back to their homes and rebuild their societies.

However, as it stands, I hear one thing from Mr. Trump one day and another thing another day – so I’m not exactly sure whether it will truly be better policy for the Muslims overseas. He has talked about Iraq being bad and that we should not be telling others how to run their countries – but those are platitudes, not policy statements. The way he speaks about challenging ISIS with bravado (go after their families, etc.) does not make me comfortable to say for sure we will not be seeing another front opened with Mr. Trump in charge. Has he asked to pull back ubiquitous drone strikes? Not to my knowledge. Has he stated for certain that we will officially close shop in Iraq and Afghanistan? Again, I’ve not heard anything. Will we stop selling arms to tyrants? Or will it remain business as usual? He has said some very sensible things about the Palestinian/Israeli issue and hasn’t been as belligerent about Iran, but honestly, that is about it. Why aren’t these positions fixed and published on his website? It seems he wants to keep it ambiguous so that the public reads into it whatever they want to – “What’s my position? It’s your position!”. Hillary gets a lot of well-deserved flak for tearing down Libya. Mr. Trump has rightly called out the government for making it a mess, but, when it was happening, simply thought it was a ‘deal’ not done right:

We know what we get with the other guys – more of the same – but I am not so sure we can guarantee a massive change vis-a-vis the Muslim world with Mr. Trump. As, our friend Rurik stated, “Muslims more than any other group should be singing Donald Trump’s praises…for this one tiny chance at hope for their world” – but the problem is, it is a really tiny chance to be grasping for based on what we are seeing and hearing so I think you can understand the hesitation – especially after the Obama foreign policy disappointment. Better to hope the policy changes due to problems with debt or the like.

He says things which are obviously offensive to Muslims, but I don’t care much about that. He has to live with his own personality (and he seems fine with that), I just want to know what policy change he will actually implement – in black and white. If it floats your boat to call our mothers tree-swinging, sand-monkey whores – fine – just stop using my tax money to bomb innocent children (Muslim or not).

The whole Muslim immigration thing – whatever – if the country wants to be super selective in who they allow in, it makes sense rationally. We may lose some good minds that don’t wish to be subjected to indignities, but I guess that is the cost-benefit analysis we have to undertake.

{When the Soviet Army’s 322nd Rifle Division entered the concentration camp at Auschwitz on Jan. 27, 1945, they found a desolation. Mounted on shaggy ponies, they had proceeded with caution as they entered the camp, fearful of a Nazi ambush. But there was no trace of the German enemy.
    Eventually, Ivan Martynushkin, then a 21-year-old lieutenant, and his comrades spotted “some people behind barbed wire.” The Nazis had evacuated the facility in Poland, the site of one of the world’s most horrific slaughters. But some 7,000 of the weakest and most infirm inmates remained. The Soviet soldiers also came across more than 600 moldering corpses.}

    {There was a grim sense of relief. “We saw emaciated, tortured, impoverished people,” Martynushkin told CNN five years ago. “Those were the people I first encountered. … We could tell from their eyes that they were happy to be saved from this hell. Happy that now they weren’t threatened by death in a crematorium. Happy to be freed. And we had the feeling of doing a good deed — liberating these people from this hell.”}

It’s practically like choosing a completely random outcome in hopes that it will be better than the alternative.

(Lots of people who post at unz.com, of course, have more reasons to vote for Trump than I do given I am coming from the left end of the spectrum–even if I have become a lot more mixed on different issues over the years.)

I’ll be voting for Sanders in the Democratic primary, but I wish I could say I was confident he’d be a big improvement over Obama in foreign policy. It seems he has only rarely put up a fight against US empire, let alone Zionism (not that the two are entirely separable these days).

A laughable newspaper article by a nutter Zionist run newspaper, as if that’s believable. You are so desperate and it shows.

The fact is that most Jews chose to leave with the Germans, and you can’t handle it.

And why would the Germans leave the rest of Jews behind to talk of an alleged ‘secret action’ if the impossible storyline was true? They wouldn’t.

And after all, the claim is that ‘the Germans wanted to kill every Jew they could get their hands on’. Yet we have countless “survivor$”.

To a sane humanity, it would matter a LOT that a candidate is poised to win the US Presidency who seems to have no environmental policy at all apart from the surly distaste for any regulation so fashionable in the air-con headspace of the 21st century US Republican Party.

Anyhow, there are indications that, after decades of almost wilful planet-baiting, the escalating heating of the planetary surface that environmentalists have warned about since the mid 1980s may now be upon us. If so, at least iatrogenic climate change should no longer be a matter of debate by 2020.

President Trump may need a new role for the US military if he really stops using it to prop up the shitty little “worse-than-apartheid” Zionist state in futile overseas wars of aggression designed to consolidate Israeli regional hegemony. Hey Don, how about tazering countries that don’t reduce their greenhouse emissions by 10% per annum at least? The Don would be best to do this, of course, in collaboration with Putin and the Chinese, to avoid nuclear war.

    Here’s what I actually wrote.

In the afternoon the Greek doctor came. He said that all patients able to walk would be given shoes and clothes and would leave the following day with the healthy ones on a twelve mile march. The others would remain in Ka-Be with assistants to be chosen from the patients least ill.

The doctor was unusually cheerful, he seemed drunk. I knew him: he was a cultured, intelligent man, egoistic and calculating. He added that everyone, without distinction, would receive a triple ration of bread, at which the patients visibly cheered up. We asked him what would happen to us. He replied that probably the Germans would leave us to our fate: no, he did not think that they would kill us. He made no effort to hide the fact that he thought otherwise. His very cheerfulness boded ill.

He was already equipped for the march. He had hardly gone out when the two Hungarian boys began to speak excitedly to each other. They were in an advanced state of convalescence but extremely wasted away. It was obvious that they were afraid to stay with the patients and were deciding to go with the healthy ones. It was not a question of reasoning: I would probably also have followed the instinct of the flock if I had not felt so weak; fear is supremely contagious, and its immediate reaction is to make one try to run away.

Outside the hut the camp sounded unusually excited. One of the two Hungarians got up, went out and returned half an hour later laden with filthy rags. He must have taken them from the store-house of clothes still to be disinfected. He and his comrade dressed feverishly, putting on rag after rag. One could see that they were in a hurry to have the matter over with before the fear itself made them hesitate. It was crazy of them to think of walking even for one hour, weak as they were, especially in the snow with those broken-down shoes found at the last moment. I tried to explain, but they looked at me without replying. Their eyes were like those of terrified cattle.

Just for a moment it flashed through my mind that they might even be right. They climbed awkwardly out of the window; I saw them, shapeless bundles, lurching into the night. They did not return; I learnt much later that, unable to continue, they had been killed by the SS a few hours after the beginning of the march.

  76. Just when I think Jews have lost their minds, along comes a Jew who thinks clearly and logically. My faith is restored.

There are many many Jews who think clearly and logically. Sadly, they’re not as self-aggrandizing as the Zionists who have sociopathic billionaire supporters as well as the MSM disseminating their fanatical fantasies. The same can be said of Establishment elite whites except that there are *far* more lunatic evangelical Zionists than there are Jews in this world.

I’d go so far as to venture that *anyone* who exhibits fanaticism about some 3rd or 7th century fairy tale needs to be heavily sedated and confined somewhere they cannot poison the minds of the sane or inflict any other damage on society. Ultimately, humanity faces two perhaps insurmountable problems: (1) there are billions of humans too stupid to feed themselves independently. If we assume a global average IQ of 90, then we have 3.5 billion idiots with IQ below 90 and no need for them whatsoever when machines will better dig our holes, wash our dishes, etc. On top of their lack of utility, these idiots are too stupid to understand the dynamics of the world and thus typically create damage that must be fixed by someone much smarter. (2) there is a not insignificant number of mentally disturbed humans who, while having a higher IQ, cannot distinguish fact from fantasy and wind up chaining their intellect to insane causes. Today we see both these problems growing madly in a world we have engineered so that any idiot with an IQ of 60 can survive and reproduce (and typically reproduce far more than those with double the IQ). Jew, Muslim, Evangelical, their fanatic beliefs are just layered atop the core problems above – how do we survive the stupidity and insanity?

  77. And I repeat, you cannot actually show us a single excavated enormous mass grave as alleged, not one. Why?

Why? Well for the same reason he can’t show us his fairy tale God who is omniscient and omnipotent, but somehow always broke and needing my money. The “holocaust” is religion and this “Avery” is either hasbara or Pentecostal troll who demands everyone believe infant babble “speaking in tongues” is sign of something other than supreme idiocy. He waves about an old book of fairy tales as evidence he is “Chosen” and therefore supreme over all or that he is “Anointed” and entitled to lead us all. Arguing with such a specimen is pointless as is every other form of response since it will merely encourage more of the same. You’ll note that this type only appears online or in a large crowd of its own ilk – it knows intuitively that it’s behavior would be shut down immediately in a setting of rational minds.

  80. Hello Talha my friend,

I confess I was hoping you’d comment on this article. You’re sort the go-to guy for rational, reasonable perspectives on Islam.

As a Muslim and American I would say that I would be totally willing to sign up for a registry …

I would easily put my liberties on the chopping block if it meant the madness would stop and that war refugees could go back to their homes and rebuild their societies.

Trump has not called for any kind of registry for Muslims other than the Syrians who’re coming now. He wants to track them. He says we don’t know enough about them and that there could be problems. No one wants you to put your liberties on the chopping block Talha. God forbid.

But there are a lot of us, not least of all Trump, who agree with you that the madness (bombing and destroying Muslims countries and arming stone age thugs who slice heads and rape women) must stop.

So you have lost nothing and gained everything. Trump doesn’t want your freedoms and he’s never called for any kind of Muslim registry, (other than the Syrian young men coming in now). And – he’s the ONLY one running who has called for an end to the madness and a sensible policy in the Middle East, especially between the Israelis and the Pals.

It seems he wants to keep it ambiguous

And then often times down right terrifyingly unambiguous.

If I were to tell you what person I would judge in my lifetime whose actions most resemble that of the Christ and Lamb of Peace, I would say Edward Snowden. Not just for all he gave up; the cushy, privileged lifestyle and perks of power and pretty girlfriend living in luxury in Hawaii and all of that, nor for what he was willing to endure: scorn, hatred, torture, death. Not just for those things.. but for the why. It is for the reason why that he gave it all up and risked it all, that I consider him a Christ-like figure. Because he did it out of a love for us. He knew he risked our collective scorn. He knew the Pharisees of the day would excoriate him and do all in their power to crucify him. (as they have). But he made that choice and sacrificed and risked it all out of a love for us. Because he understood the demonic evil of the modern day Pharisees and he wanted to protect us from them.

So I say all of that because Donald Trump has called this living saint a traitor. And I don’t like that. But I have to put it in the back of my mind. I have to rationalize that he’s playing to the crowd, and that in his heart, he feels more like I do about Edward Snowden. But even if he doesn’t. Even if he would arrest and imprison and make a martyr out of Snowden, what other choice is there?! Hillary and Cruz are agents of the very demonic fiends that Edward Snowden tried to warn us all about. WE KNOW THAT. We know what they are. And that’s why not just I, but Edward Snowden has come out publically to endorse Donald Trump!

“Edward Snowden tweeted yesterday “2016: a choice between Donald Trump and Goldman Sachs.” ”

    http://www.eutimes.net/2016/02/edward-snowden-endorses-donald-trump-despite-being-called-a-traitor/

    How succinct was that?

And he’s someone who would know. So no one is asking you or any other Muslim to put their liberties on the block, but Trump has actually called for putting Mr. Snowden’s liberties on the block, specifically, and yet, knowing the stakes here, Snowden (in true character) is still calling for Trump to win.

We know what we get with the other guys – more of the same – but I am not so sure we can guarantee a massive change vis-a-vis the Muslim world with Mr. Trump.

But it’s a hope, Talha. A hope. And that is a very precious thing!

I never even imagined that it was even possible. I’ve become so cynical, like some of the others here who say even Trump, for all the hysterical hair-pulling by the neocons and treachery by the GOP whores to shut him out, will still not make any difference. OK, maybe not. But still, there’s hope.

Without Trump, there is no hope.

And that is a powerful thing to say, don’t you think?

The whole Muslim immigration thing – whatever – if the country wants to be super selective in who they allow in, it makes sense rationally.

and it is our right. This is our home. This is where we were born, and where our ancestors sacrificed and struggled and fought and created this place to bequeath to us. We have every right on this planet to decide who we want (or don’t want) to invite into our home. No less that Pakistan or Mexico or any other nation has the right to decide who they invite in. No?

Better to hope the policy changes due to problems with debt or the like.

the old, ‘wait for the complete destruction of the entire edifice to come crashing down’ argument. I get it. But can you wait that long?

Just try to imagine what kind of world they’re going to have in the Middle East under Hillary, Talha.

especially after the Obama foreign policy disappointment.

Obama was a peace candidate. The only reason that the anti-white racist Marxist was able to win in America was because he was less odious than the GOP ‘more war’ candidate Romney. Obama was elected specifically as a repudiation of the wars. Also I don’t believe that Obama likes the wars and he certainly doesn’t like Bibi. So bombing and slaughtering brown children has never set all that well with Obama, and hence there’s been some restraint, even tho Obama knows very clearly that his entire career has been created and maintained by Jews, and that he’s completely beholding to them. That is why he’s engaged in these wars, not because he’s a hawk by nature. But consider his former Secretary of State for a moment, by contrast. Unlike Obama, she is not running a peace candidate. She’s running as a hawk, who wants to take the US/Israeli relationship to a “new level”. Can you imagine?

Obama was restrained both by his own proclivities (hate’s Bibi’s guts) and national and international expectations and disappointments. (imagine how loved he would be internationally if he actually was an anti-war president and ended the wars and closed down Gitmo and made peace with Russia and all the other incredible possibilities that could have been achieved were it not for his fealty to the Jews? He could have been an almost literally a messiah-like Statesman of the Century, if he would have been allowed to lead without the Zio-leashes on.

But Hillary will have no such restraints and no qualms whatsoever when it comes to humiliating Muslim countries (and especially Muslim men) and stomping that Zio-boot on Islam’s face with cackling glee. She will do so with a Old Testament vengeance. Remember general Clarks list of countries to be utterly destroyed? Well get out your popcorn Talha, because the carnage is going to remake the world as Moloch’s first bitch will have her gorgon’s finger on the trigger.

I wish I were more articulate, more eloquent. I wish I could channel Israel Shamir and have his prose lay out on the page with equal aplomb. But I’m not and it doesn’t. All I have is passion and sincerity. Those are the wells from where I can draw my words and attempts to convey my points. But they’re limited, alas. So I’ll just say that for me too, Trump is very flawed. I hate what he says about torture and killing families. It’ chills my blood to the marrow, and I have to turn away. But I also have to be rational, and live in this world, and what I know about this world and what they’re trying to do with their 911 and “Patriot” Act and Total Surveillance and NDAA and drones flying in the skies and hyper-militarized police and bombs dropping all over the world in complete and absolute disregard for all rule of law and all international law and all known precepts of human decency … is that it’s all in preparation for literally some kind of Orwellian nightmare unleashed. It’s humanity itself sitting in Orwell’s room 101- and soon the door to the little cage where the starving rats are clawing, will be opened up – and then that need for human power over other humans reaching it’s irresistible and inevitable conclusion.

Well, you get the idea. I’ll be holding my nose and voting for Donald Trump. And hope.

May the God’s smile upon you and grant you peace

  85. Dear iffen,

I can certainly understand that. My comments were specifically analyzing his foreign policy vis-a-vis the Muslim world because that was the crux of Mr. Shamir’s article; how would a Trump presidency usher in a new era in American policy as regards the Middle East and being perplexed at the lack of Muslim support.

I certainly think he has probably the best (and fairly clear) position in regards to relations with Russia and that is very welcome since that will help move the ‘doomsday clock’ back a few minutes:

    http://thebulletin.org/timeline

However, I did not even take that into account since that was not part of Mr. Shamir’s analysis.

As I mentioned in my other comments, I think Ms. Clinton would be worse for certain (foreign policy-wise) and I honestly don’t know why she is being supported by some Muslim organizations – maybe just because she seems to be saying less caustic things about Muslims and Islam in general inside our borders. But then that just looks like pure self-preservation. One thing I have not seen is passionate pleas from Muslims on behalf of Ms. Clinton’s platform. It seems more like they are saying she is the lesser of two evils when it comes to Muslims’ civil liberties so just vote for her.

I just wanted to give a perspective on why one doesn’t see (and shouldn’t expect) enthusiastic support for Mr. Trump from the Muslim sector of the population. I do know that many Muslims were very positive about Dr. Ron Paul’s runs because of his proven track record on liberties and foreign policy. Mr. Trump is no Dr. Paul.

May God grant you even more years with honor.

  88. policy vis-a-vis the Muslim world because that was the crux of Mr. Shamir’s article

You are very precise in your comments and seem to be very careful in keeping those comments on topic, both are attributes that I should cultivate for my own benefit.

I read the article differently and saw the foreign policy and more specifically as it relates to the Muslim countries as only one part of the article.

I read your comment in the vein that his policy toward Muslim countries (will he do what he says or not) was the crucial deciding point for you. This is not a criticism. I have certain litmus tests myself. However, you are quite knowledgeable of the political system and know that we only have two choices and we must balance our views and pick the coalition that most closely aligns with what we want politically.

I re-iterate my point that Trump could provide the impetus for real political change even if he does not get elected. Without major political upheaval it is doubtful that we will have a break from our policy of eternal warfare. The election of Trump would be one chance to break the cycle. If he is not elected, the political aftermath of the Trump candidacy could provide another chance.

Just because we grasp at a straw is no reason not to grasp at another one if it becomes available.

The newspaper is quoting a Red Army soldier.
If you were able to read Russian, you could read eyewitness testimonies of 1,000s and 1,000s of Ivan Martynushkins. Nazi invaders murdered about 10 million Soviet civilians, mostly Slavs.

You Nazi apologists and revisionists are desperate and despicable.
Nazis invading USSR and causing the deaths of about 30 million Soviet citizens is no myth.
Invaders reaching Stalingrad deep inside USSR is no myth.

  91. Dear Rurik,

It brings a smile to my face when you respond, may God keep you smiling in this world and the next.

he’s never called for any kind of Muslim registry

I would have to disagree with this one. He did talk about a registry for Muslims in general, but again, the specifics are ambiguous. He makes a lot of off-the-cuff remarks so I can’t really pin him down for that as an actual proposed policy. I was merely stating that hypothetical so show that I feel strongly enough about my tax dollars being used to cause mayhem that it is a no-brainer to me to make a personal sacrifice if that would guarantee the lives of others. But we live in a republic and even if he proposed that all Muslims should wear clown shoes and purple hats, it would need to go through the requisites legislative procedures and judicial overview so, to me, it’s a bunch of words.

I hate what he says about torture and killing families. It’ chills my blood to the marrow, and I have to turn away.

This is a major problem. He has also said “I’ll bomb the **** out of them” and that he would try to take control of their oil fields:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jCW0GskdRl0

Again, it is off the cuff and I don’t know how much of this is serious since it is not printed as official policy, but I can think of no better way to escalate the situation than to go into the Muslim lands and state that you are going to take their oil fields by force. First off, wouldn’t we need congressional authorization – and would this be the actual proposal to Congress? If so this is a gross violation of treaties we are signatory to (just like the killing of families). So we have a Muslim civil-war going on and we’re trying to keep ISIS from getting recruits; this would be a sure-fire way of; a) crushing the credentials of ISIS’ opponents b) doing their recruiting for them and bringing them back from being on the ropes.

As you can see, I’m not thinking about the bluster that I am seeing coming from his mouth, he’s always said zany things – I expect that. I need to have solid policy statements as to how foreign policy will change – he has many, very specific, statements (with details) on his website about certain things, like the wall or trade with China, etc. Otherwise, I’ve heard a lot of nice sounding things from others before and we are simply supposed to take their word for it based on ambiguous statements. As a contrast for instance, Dr. Ron Paul stated, as a matter of policy, he would immediately pardon non-violent drug offenders or immediately push for transparency of the Fed.

but Edward Snowden has come out publically to endorse Donald Trump

Unfortunately, I think you are reading a bit more into his statement. I, like you, think Edward Snowden is an American hero. I think Mr. Snowden is simply stating that this is the ironic bottom-of-the-barrel position that the American public finds themselves in where you either have someone funded by the corporate bankers or a billionaire who hobnobs with them. I actually had not seen his position on Snowden; that actually frightens me even more since he seems to have no nuance about how Mr. Snowden may be considered a whistle blower. Will he treat others that try to blow the cover on the deep state just like the current administration has? Sounds like it. Seems like he has no problem spying on anybody, Muslims or not. And it seems like he is willing to hit this terrorism flea with a giant sledgehammer. Please look at the stats since 2002:
    https://www.start.umd.edu/pubs/START_AmericanTerrorismDeaths_FactSheet_Oct2015.pdf

An American is more likely to be killed by falling icicles (15 per year according to the Death in Society Research Foundation); nobody would dream of throwing billions upon billions against that problem.

I’ll be holding my nose and voting for Donald Trump. And hope.

This, I can totally understand – given where everything is at and if it comes down to him vs Ms. Clinton. I can’t understand being gung-ho about him based on the evidence at hand.

I spoke once to one of my teachers of Islamic jurisprudence about voting and I remember distinctly that he said that it is a grave thing. One doesn’t simply just ‘vote’ or ‘cast a ballot’ for someone, rather it is an implicit statement as one would take in a court that one testifies (this is a shahada) to the suitability of the person being the right person for the office. As I said my friend, I will likely sit this one out and pray for the best…

May God preserve you and yours…
    …but not the Fed.

  95. I will not be voting for Donald Trump.

The first comment I wrote on Trump, was that he was to thin skinned, to self-absorbed, and to narcissistic to be president.

Then as I listened, I began to have some hope for real change – he said good things, things I liked to hear, he pushed my buttons. For the next months I made positive comments about him. I like the idea of a fence, more jobs talk, bashing establishment congress, attacking lobbyists, attacking big business that send jobs overseas, and attacking unfair trade deals.

However, a couple of weeks ago I began to have second thoughts. He has revealed more of his personality. Before all of America, his classless statement about his penis, shows that he can NOT control himself. His gigantic ego forced him to retaliate and embarrass himself and America.

Trump is also reveling a mean tendency. He clearly gets off on taking people down.

When he talks, 50% of the time he spends congratulating himself. He does manage to briefly say “jobs, military, police, and veterans,” but the rest the time it is all about him, name calling his opponents, and attacking weak backwards groups of people. Trump shows little understanding of the ramifications of his words. In his quest for power, he is willingly to make enemies.

Trump not being a true blue right wing conservative is not a problem for me, but he has clearly tried to pull the wool over our eyes about it.

Trump admires Putin and Netanyahu – he likes “strongmen,” men who are more than willing to use military force.

Hmm – narcissistic ego, uncontrolled ego, mean violent ego, a making enemies ego, a dishonest ego, and a strongman ego.

Are these good traits for the President of the United State of America to hold?

    Not in my book.

Another argument in favor of Trump (though it’s not a very flattering one) is that because he is so radioactive, he will find it very difficult to form the sort of alliances for military adventures which more respectable presidents would be able to achieve. I can’t imagine European leaders openly working arm and arm with Trump on the next Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc., or on provocations aimed specifically at Russia. I think there would also be much more domestic pushback if Trump were to do the sort of things that Bush did, or that Obama did, or that Hillary would do if elected, than there would if a Democratic president who follows the rules of what you can say and can’t say were to be elected. Would it really be so bad that the President of the United States should be an embarrassment? Of course, Bush was embarrassing and still managed to gain a good deal of cooperation from other governments, but that was when the 9/11 false flag was still fresh. (Maybe a President Trump + another major false flag is the ultimate nightmare then.)

This idea of voting for Trump precisely because his hands will be somewhat tied on foreign policy seems to be the crux of Joaquin Flores’ endorsement, in a manner of speaking anyway, of Trump:

Not quite. What about all those bleeding heart liberal interventionists (the doppelgängers of the neocons) who were demanding that “something be done ” about the impending slaughters of the Libyans, Kosovars, and Syrians? But for some strange reason, they remained eerily silent when it came to protecting the people of Gaza:

“We never hear any R2P backers pushing for a military intervention in Gaza to protect the Palestinians from Israeli missiles. Nobody is talking about protecting Egyptian civilians from the brutal, US-backed dictatorship in Egypt. as for ISIS, all we have to do is stop supporting them in our transparent attempt to oust Assad and carve up Syria.

Sorry, that was my ‘Trump’ moment.

Dr. Ron Paul stated, as a matter of policy, he would immediately pardon non-violent drug offenders or immediately push for transparency of the Fed.

I love Ron Paul. He’s the only living man who I can say that I actually love. Snowden is Christ-like, Ron Paul is the world’s only living great statesman. On the level of a Thomas Jefferson or Thomas Paine. A singularly great man who loves freedom, and there’s few things more precious than freedom.

But I don’t always agree with him. I prefer Trumps positions on tariffs. Ron Paul is an ideologue and believes in strict adherence to libertarian principles. That’s fine if everyone plays by the same rules. But if China is waging a trade war, and you’re not, you’re going to lose, and lose big.

(Also I suspect Dr. Paul is a little petulant today about his (pathetic) son losing to Trump. He’s a father, he’s entitled)

Also I’m hoping Trump picks Dr. Paul as Treasury Secretary

I think Mr. Snowden is simply stating that this is the ironic bottom-of-the-barrel position that the American public finds themselves

all Trump has to do on the day after his inauguration is have his Secretary of State call Erdogan and tell him it’s over. I’d like to see massive American foreign aid for rebuilding and humanitarian reasons, for once.

I see this contest as close to being between good and evil as it gets. Not, as I’ve said before, because Trump is all that great. Hardly. But because Hillary absolutely, without any shred of doubt, is that evil.

I don’t have to tell you what she did to Libya. We all saw her spine-chilling cackle over Gadhafi. Obama has been reluctant to sate the murderous blood-lust of the Zionists. Obama hates Bibi’s guts. But Hillary conversely, will rain down death and horrors with fanatical malice and depravity. That super-bitch has more megalomaniacal hate in her toenail that a billion average humans have in their entire souls over a lifetime. – And I’m not exaggerating! I believe that’s true, and furthermore, I suspect that you and most of the people here believe it too!

Yea, I’ve seen that kind of rhetoric before. Usually from ultra-nationalistic Poles or Russians, too arrogant and/or indoctrinated/stupid to see how badly their nations were being pimped by the Bolsheviks. Had their ancestors not allowed the Bolsheviks to take over their countries, (much like they’ve taken over mine today), and allowed them to set about slaughtering and starving to death Gentiles right and left, from Bela Kun in Hungary to the NKVD at Katyn, then there would have been no Nazi movement as a direct survival response to the genocidal insanity of the Jewish Bolsheviks in the first place.

    No Bolsheviks = no Nazis

But modern day nationalistic Poles and Russians are too enthralled of their chest-thumping heroic victory over the Germans, (and subsequent humiliating slavery to the commies for generations), to begin to see the nuanced truth of all of that.

That’s why there’s so much strife in Ukraine today. Because the Russians want the Ukrainians to celebrate a Red Army boot on their necks for decades and to pretend that the Holodomor was self-inflicted.

Why are all the major Jew holidays about death? Purim, Passover, Chanukah, all celebrate death to Jew enemies.

I remember reading one of Mr. Shamir’s articles many years ago, and he quoted one of these types who was using a D9 bulldozer to demolish Palestinian’s homes in Jenin.

“I had no mercy for anybody. I would erase anyone with the D-9, and I have demolished plenty. I wanted to destroy everything. I begged the officers, over the radio, to let me knock it all down; from top to bottom. To level everything. When I was told to bring down a house, I took the opportunity to bring down some more houses. For three days, I just destroyed and destroyed. The whole area. I wanted to get to the other houses. To get as many as possible. I didn’t see, with my own eyes, people dying under the blade of the D-9. But if there were any, I wouldn’t care at all. If you knocked down a house, you buried 40 or 50 people. If I am sorry for anything, it is for not tearing the whole camp down. I had lots of satisfaction in Jenin, lots of satisfaction…”

Greasy, I previously asked you to choose between these two principles:

    1) “might is right” – i.e., good or bad is irrelevant; therefore the end justifies the means; or
    2) morality – i.e., good or bad is paramount; therefore the end does not justify the means?

More specifically, I had asked you if you thought the nazis were justified in choosing the means they did in trying to achieve their objectives. You responded that the nazis were in the wrong for what they did.

Now you write “…we’ll get rid of the Palestinians in a matter of hours. I just hope you live long enough to see it.”

You suggest an interesting thought-experiment, Rurik:

We’ve all heard, “If the Nazis had not been defeated then _____ [very bad things would have happened.]”

But what if the Germans had not stopped the Bolsheviks from taking over Germany in the 1930s, as they were attempting to do?
What if so many German soldiers had not died to contain Zhukov’s brutes to the extent that they did? Would they have overrun all of Europe — France, Belgium, Italy the whole works?

We know that Roosevelt stole a march on the British and sent Mark Clark into Rome alone, so that the USA could have sole control over Italy in order to keep the Commies out of Italy and to ensure that the Bolsheviks did not control the Mediterranean.

What would have happened if Germany had not saved as much of Europe as it did from the clutches of the Bolsheviks?

PS To the taunt, “Had we not defeated Hitler we’d all be speaking German;” before Chaim Weizmann egged Wilson into WWI; and before Frankfurter, Brandeis, Luce, Rockefeller etc. manipulated FDR into WWII, much of the USA did speak German. And enjoyed German technology and social programs, too.

Are you saying all that cordiality is just a front?

First of all, “niceness” and ideology are totally separate things. Any Israeli will tell you that the same Palestinians who will support blowing up a bus of Jewish schoolchildren to “liberate” the Land of Israel from the Jews are extremely pleasant, compassionate and loyal on a purely interpersonal level. War is a brutal thing and people get hurt so I don’t fault the Arabs for fighting brutally for their own interests, and people shouldn’t criticize the Jews for doing the same. But Jews have always been subjected to a double standard.

But as for it being a front, the answer is “sort of”. I’m not Neturei Karta, like I assume the Jews you are talking about are, but if you press them they will all admit that the Land of Israel belongs exclusively to the Jewish people and the arabs will all have to get out. The difference is that they want the Messiah to do it.

3rd, Torah True is a very diverse group that does not see eye to eye on a lot. There is the anti-Zionist NK and Satmar types, the non-but-not-anti Zionist mainstream Hasidim/Ultra Orthodox and the anti-secular Kahane types (that’s me). What binds us all together though, politically speaking, is hatred for the secular. I hope that after we get rid of the secular we don’t start feuding amongst ourselves.

  132. More specifically, I had asked you if you thought the nazis were justified in choosing the means they did in trying to achieve their objectives.

Their objective was the physical extermination of the Jewish people. The issue wasn’t the means that they used, it was their objective itself.

Our objective is liberating the Land of Israel and applying Jewish sovereignty over every inch of it as was promised to us by the Creator. If the Arabs accept that, great, nobody will bother them. If they choose war than they will be driven from the land forcibly, and it is them, not us who will be responsible for their plight.

If the Arabs accept that, great, nobody will bother them. If they choose war than they will be driven from the land forcibly, and it is them, not us who will be responsible for their plight.

Couldn’t the same be said of the nazis:

“If the Jews accept that, great, nobody will bother them. If they choose war (which they did by imposing economic sanctions against Germany in 1933) then they will be driven from the land forcibly, and it is them, not the Germans who will be responsible for their plight.”

You do see the similarities, don’t you?

Also, Hitler’s decision to exterminate Europe’s Jewish population was in reaction to the Atlantic Charter in 1941, not the 1933 boycott which he was not bothered by.

Ethnic cleansing has been going on for thousands of years, it predates the Nazis by a long shot. The United States and Australia were both founded by ethnic cleansing natives who had previously been in the business of ethnic cleansing each other themselves.

Even so, I believe it is best for all nations to respect current national boundaries for the sake of peace although I supposed you could make a philosophical case that there is nothing wrong with an overpopulated nation annexing the territory of an underpopulated one, as Russia did with the tribes in Siberia. I don’t know, I’m not a ethicist.

But the Land of Israel is a special case. The creator of world reserved it for His Chosen People. I actually have a lot of sympathy for the Palestinians as it is only natural that they feel the Land of Israel belongs to them, they are its natives. Same thing with the Canaanites before them. But it’s a 0 sum game and if they chose war, they will have to pay the price.

  137. What would have happened if Germany had not saved as much of Europe as it did from the clutches of the Bolsheviks?

that’s an interesting (if terrifying) question SC

but then we do have a case of what it’s like for the Gentiles when the Jews have absolute power over them, as they did the Kulaks for instance, by the way the Germans (and others) were treated at the end of the war. Or we can look at Palestine to see how the Jewish id expresses itself on the vanquished.

BTW, there is often discussions about some genetic proclivities and propensities of the Jews to behave in certain ways, and I think this explains their intelligence and other gifts, but as for the genocidal cruelty and demonic hatred unleashed, I put that down to their religion. It’s hard to imagine a more fucked up religion than one that tells its faithful that non-members were put here by God to serve as their slaves. Not that the Christians haven’t tried their hand at interpreting the bible to justify slavery. But this kind of shit (and I do mean the worst kind of fetid, rancid excreta that’s capable of vomiting out of a human soul …

“An even greater difference exists in regard to the soul. Two contrary types of soul exist, a non-Jewish soul comes from three satanic spheres, while the Jewish soul stems from holiness.”

I don’t think anybody on either side, even the most extreme, thinks that Jews and Palestinians cannot peacefully live together in the Land, per se, but the the question has always been one of sovereignty, not housing rights. And yes, I know if you talk to Palestinians they will say that they are against any Jews remaining in the Land of Israel but if you strip away the rhetoric you will see that they really don’t care if Jews continue to live there or not. When they say “Free Palestine”, they don’t mean “Free Palestine of the Jews” but rather “Free Palestine from Jewish Rule”; hence the amicable relations that Fatah and Hamas have with anti-Zionist Jewish sects. Polish style, “Jews out!” anti semitism simply does not exist in the Arab-Islamic world, even after 70 years of war.

Similarly, even the most extreme right wing settler type doesn’t really have a problem with Arabs living in the Land, but they cannot tolerate Arab sovereignty over any part of it.

None of that makes the conflict any less unsolvable, of course, so it is all kinda moot.

But the general upshot of the question remains, why is there so much anti-Semitism in Eastern Europe for instance? Why did the Poles (and Lithuanians and so many others) eagerly don the virulently anti-Semitic ways of the Nazis?

Here by the way is the official Jewish explanation for this

    http://www.nytimes.com/2001/03/17/arts/poles-and-the-jews-how-deep-the-guilt.html

  141. Nor is Greasy a name from the Torah. I am American. My family, like great many Israelis are of mixed European-middle eastern bloodlines. The Last name is Syrian/Iraqi Jewish from my father’s side [and we have been on the Land much longer than your lot]. My grandmother is Austrian.

Bigger picture: only an idiot would gloat over little illegal settlement skirmishes [btw did you forget when that secular army hauled your stupid collective arse from Gaza? We can do it again!] . It only exposes your weakness, which is, if you were to ever possess control [you will not], you will ineluctably start fighting each other to death: the Kahanes vs the Satmars, the Lubavitchers vs, the Ovadia Yosefis, etc etc. You are not endowed with the gene that governs the ability to form stable countries as is manifest from the history of the Jewish people. Change, or the world will change you.

  142. did you forget when that secular army hauled your stupid collective arse from Gaza?

Because you had your Yesha Council Judenrat to make sure there was no resistance. When you didn’t have the Yesha Council we clobbered your gangster army, sent you running back to Tel Aviv.

Change, or the world will change you

It’s the other way around, we change the world. That is what Judaism is about.

And drop the lame Mizrahi pride thing. If you are half Ashkenazi you aren’t a true Mizrahi.

  143. Again, I salute your honesty, you are a straight talking man of conviction in a world where such people are increasingly rare, and I respect that.

“I don’t think anybody on either side, even the most extreme, thinks that Jews and Palestinians cannot peacefully live together in the Land, per se, but the the question has always been one of sovereignty, not housing rights.”

Agreed. Just like when there are 2 male gorillas and 1 female gorilla in heat, the 2 gorillas can coexist, but one has to defer and be subordinate to the other. If this sounds primitive, then oh well. The delusion that a stable multiethnic society can exist without a clear and established hierarchy may end up being the death of the West. The future will be inherited by the less naive, whether this is a good thing or not.

The Israeli/Arab conflict will never end until one group successfully establishes their political and demographic sovereignty over the other. As you said, this does not require total ethnic cleanising, but enough ethnic cleansing that the outcome is not left in doubt.

I also respect the fact that you can see why Arabs/Muslims feel they must try to be the victors in this conflict unless they want to be nearly completely marginalized in the lands of Greater Israel.

I am Muslim (not Arab though). I like Judaism as well, I recently went to a briss and read the books in the pews, the similarity of our scriptures astonished me. One can like/respect a group of people, cooperate with them on a variety of other issues AND simultaneously realize that in this PARTICULAR case we are engaged in a 0 sum game.

  144. Dear Greasy,

As others have stated, thanks for being honest.

Kahane? Like a card-carrying member? That is a designated terrorist group even in Israeli proper, right? If so, your views, though connected to Ultra-Orthodoxy (UO), may not have significant resonance among the other UO. I remember recently meeting, and amicably chatting, with a UO Rabbi in LAX (we didn’t talk about Israel) and was fascinated by the similarities. These similarities are alluded to in the Qur’an; which is why the Qur’an constantly brings up the Children of Israel as examples of what we should and should not do. We were talking about the particulars of Jewish law and how their tradition comes to the conclusion of what is the most strongest opinion or normative voice in the discourse. For a similar study, here is a reliable source on the topic of ‘ascertaining the correct verdict’ [tarjih] in the school of Imam Malik (may God have mercy on him):
    http://bewley.virtualave.net/fatwa.html

We also had a discussion about the process and necessity of spiritual purification for a jurist under his teachers so that the sin of arrogance does not enter his heart as a result of his knowledge.

Anyway, getting back to your point about sovereignty; so you have no problem living with Palestinians inside that land, but their political rights must be subordinate to Jewish rights? That can mean a spectrum of things; so are they kind of like dhimmis in Shariah law (who are accorded their own civil jurisdiction and protection from the state) or is it more like the Spartans vis-a-vis the Helots, where the Helots only have rights (even to their lives and property) insofar as the Spartans feel like it?

What about historically, both people lived there pretty well under the Ottomans. Are you saying the most pragmatic solution is to just take the whole issue of sovereignty away from both Jew and Arab and hand it over to someone else as an overseer? Would you have a problem with, say, the Turks taking over and acting as referee? Would you fight them? Why then were Jewish scholars of the past (presumably more knowledgeable, perhaps piety, and closer – by centuries – in their link to the covenant at Zion) alright with living under the sovereignty of others and that the idea of Jewish nationalism is a relatively late player in the historic world stage? Aren’t you then mixing your religious heritage/tradition with foreign concepts like ethnic nationalism and sovereignty which are influences from things like the French Revolution?

Not trying to be difficult, I’m enjoying the insights you are providing, even though (full disclosure) I’m not certain you represent a normative voice of UO Judaism.

May God preserve you and your family.

Greasy, do you believe that? Or is that just an opinion (perhaps minority) among other views? Is this view only in the Talmud or is there a direct verse from the Torah as evidence for this?

How does one deal with converts into or out of Judaism? Do their souls flip modalities? I know a few Jewish converts to Islam.

This is is stark contrast to what we’ve been taught about the soul:
A bier passed by the Messenger of God (pbuh) and he stood, and it was said to him that it is the bier of a Jew. He replied: “Isn’t it a soul?” (Sahih Bukhari)

[Though the act of standing for a funeral is considered to have been abrogated in general.]

Would you have a problem with, say, the Turks taking over and acting as referee? Would you fight them?

Would I personally fight them? I wouldn’t fight anybody. I’m not a fighter. Would I support Turkish rule? No, I want Jewish sovereignty over all of the Land of Israel.

However, since we are speaking of total hypotheticals, if the Arabs/Muslims were to successfully destroy Israel (and I am confident they will not) then I would take it as a sign that G-d does not want us to forcibly take the Land and would oppose any efforts to dispossess the Arabs.

Why then were Jewish scholars of the past (presumably more knowledgeable, perhaps piety, and closer – by centuries – in their link to the covenant at Zion) alright with living under the sovereignty of others and that the idea of Jewish nationalism is a relatively late player in the historic world stage?

Well I think you kinda hit on the problem. Zionism is basically a secular 19th century political movement that not only is totally disconnected from the Middle East, but even disconnected from the rest European Jewish history, let alone global Jewish history. And while I don’t expect the Palestinians to look any more kindly on my brand of reconquest, I can hardly fault them for resisting rootless, G-dless, secular Zionism. Torah True Jews also have conflicts with the Zionists; the Zionists destroy our communities, arrest our boys and hold them for years without trial and in the past even attempted to draft our boys into their army.

But there is something that we need to make clear: all forms of orthodox/traditional Judaism believes that the entirety of the Land of Israel belongs exclusively to the Jewish people. Those Neturei Karta guys you know who hate Israel and want to see it wiped off the map, I guarantee you they believe the Land of Israel belongs to the Jews and the Jews alone. They might not say as much to you but they will definitely admit it when debating other Jews provided there are no Goyim within earshot. The only dispute between orthodox Jews is whether or not force should be used to reclaim sovereignty or not. Some (Satmar, Neturei Karta) will categorically say “no”. The Kahane types will categorically say “yes”. Most are probably more sympathetic with the Satmar side, theologically speaking, but are ambivalent about Jewish sovereignty in practice due to reasons of realpolitik (i.e. they think the Arabs will kill them if the Arabs take over).

As for it being illegal to be a Kahanist, is Israel there has been 2 Kahanist political parties: Kach and Kahane Chai. Both have been outlawed (banned from running for the Knesset in 88 and 92, respectively, and then both outlawed after the Hebron massacre in 1994) and no longer exist. There is no underground “Kahane” organization. Rather, Kahanist theology has spread and it inspires certain groups or individuals.

Kahane proposed an “exchange of populations” that would continue the Jewish exodus from Arab lands: “A total of some 750,000 Jews fled Arab lands since 1948. Surely it is time for Jews, worried over the huge growth of Arabs in Israel, to consider finishing the exchange of populations that began 35 (50) years ago.” Kahane proposed a $40,000 compensation plan for Arabs who would leave voluntarily, forcible expulsion for those who “don’t want to leave,”[64

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Meir_Kahane

interestingly, Wiki says "750,000 Jews fled Arab lands", when the opposite is the truth. I wonder if that was an honest mistake?

And what they fled was barbaric murderous savagery unleashed, at places like Deir Yassin, a peaceful village that the Zionists coveted for its strategic possibilities

    snippets from Wiki:

The New York Times, 13 April 1948, reported that 254 Arabs were killed at Deir Yassin.[40] Sharif Kan’ana of Bir Zeit University interviewed survivors and published figures in 1988: 107 villagers had died, 11 of them armed, with 12 wounded.[41] An Irgun fighter testified years later that Irgun and Lehi men had killed 80 prisoners after the fighting was over. Gelber writes that the figure is inflated and has not been corroborated. Kan’ana writes that 25 villagers were executed and thrown into the quarry after the battle, which Gelber regards as accurate.[42]

Eliahu Arbel, Operations Officer B of the Haganah’s Etzioni Brigade, arrived at the scene on April 10. “I have seen a great deal of war,” he said years later, “but I never saw a sight like Deir Yassin.”[43

He described beatings, looting, and the stripping of jewelry and money from prisoners. He wrote that the initial orders were to take the men prisoner and send the women and children away, but the order was changed to kill all the prisoners. The mukhtar's son was killed in front of his mother and sisters, he said.[50]

The head of the HIS in Jerusalem, Yitzhak Levy, wrote in reports dated April 12 and 13: “The conquest of the village was carried out with great brutality, whole families [including] women, old people and children were killed and there are piles and piles of dead.”[22] He wrote that a mother and child who had been moved from Deir Yassin to Sheikh Badr were killed there by Lehi fighters. Seven old men and women, who had been taken to Jerusalem, were taken back to Deir Yassin and killed in the quarry there, he wrote, and an Arab man, believed to be a sniper, was killed and his corpse burned in front of foreign journalists.[22]

“LHI [Lehi] members tell of the barbaric behavior of the IZL [Irgun] toward the prisoners and the dead. They also relate that the IZL men raped a number of Arab girls and murdered them afterward . . .” [54] Levy went on to say that he was not certain the allegations were true.[54] The main source of the rape allegations was Assistant Inspector-General Richard Catling of the British Palestine Police Force. He wrote one or more reports based on interviews he conducted in Silwan with some of the Deir Yassin women:

On 14th April at 10 a.m. I visited Silwan village accompanied by a doctor and a nurse from the Government Hospital in Jerusalem and a member of the Arab Women’s Union. We visited many houses in this village in which approximately some two to three hundred people from Deir Yassin village are housed. I interviewed many of the women folk in order to glean some information on any atrocities committed in Deir Yassin but the majority of those women are very shy and reluctant to relate their experiences especially in matters concerning sexual assault and they need great coaxing before they will divulge any information. The recording of statements is hampered also by the hysterical state of the women who often break down many times whilst the statement is being recorded. There is, however, no doubt that many sexual atrocities were committed by the attacking Jews. Many young schoolgirls were raped and later slaughtered. Old women were also molested. One story is current concerning a case in which a young girl was literally torn in two. Many infants were also butchered and killed.

In 1949, despite protests, the Jerusalem neighborhood of Givat Shaul Bet was built on what had been Deir Yassin’s land, now considered part of Har Nof, an Orthodox area.[77]

  148. Greasy, do you believe that? Or is that just an opinion (perhaps minority) among other views? Is this view only in the Talmud or is there a direct verse from the Torah as evidence for this?

I don’t believe there is any qualitative difference between a Jewish and a non Jewish soul but that is definitely a minority position within Torah True Judaism. I used to believe that Jewish souls were superior to non Jewish ones but personal experience has convinced me that all human souls are on the same level.

  149. I can hardly fault them for resisting rootless, G-dless, secular Zionism. Torah True Jews also have conflicts with the Zionists; the Zionists destroy our communities, arrest our boys and hold them for years without trial and in the past even attempted to draft our boys into their army.

You are an effortless liar aren’t you? The Palestinians resist the settlers. Period.

Sure we will arrest your ‘boys’ for vandalism and general shiftlessness, which inevitably ends with pan-handling for resources and living expenses from the secular.

Your ‘boys’ will be drafted to the army to do some hard manual labour, sooner or later. Don’t flatter yourself into thinking that they are all intellectual giants dissecting the Midrash. Over 99% of them are shiftless idiots [ and murderers like Meir Kahane]. You fellows have no real understanding of the texts, either as a necessarily evolving philosophy to keep with the times, as required by the Sanhedrin, or the basic tenet that the Bene Ishmael have equal title over the Land. Cunning however you are, living off the largesse provided by us, the Secular. At some point it will stop. I reckon when Americans stop the flow.

I don’t know about exact numbers, but for sure some Jewish communities were forced out of their ancestral homelands when Israel came into being. It is definitely a stain on Muslim history of recent times. Ethnic nationalism is a cancer whether Jewish, Arab, Turkish etc. The Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) warned us against tribalism/nationalism in very severe words.

  151. Dear Greasy,

    Thanks for the clarifications…

    1. Glad yours is a minority/extreme opinion.
    2. Why wouldn’t you just switch to Satmar/NK? It seems like it is the same theology and equally valid in its position and scholarly moorings to the covenant at Zion? It seems to me to make no sense to fight tooth and nail for a small portion of real estate and have the animosity of the world versus the ability to travel through the various lands of the Middle East and settle whreever one wants like the Jews of antiquity. I mean is it an obligation; are you sinning if you don’t establish Jewish sovereignty – will God hold you to account? If it is merely an option of political organization with no more virtue than any other political settlement, it seems to be a whole heck of a lot of trouble.
3.Why would one recognize oneself as an extremist and remain that way? I mean ISIS doesn’t call themselves extreme (even though they are), they actually think they are the ones with the legitimate interpretation and bringing the balance back.
    4. I do not support any massacre/genocide that stems from Arab nationalism. No Muslim victory over the Holy Land was followed by slaughter.
    5. Good for you about the concept of the equivalence of souls; still shocked that this would be a minority opinion.

Well, you’ve given us a lot to digest – whether we agree with you or not, thanks for the dialogue. I won’t bother you with more questions (for a while).

I have no dog in this fight. Even with religious minorities within their lands, Muslim rulers are supposed to keep out of their religious disputes.

But you bring up interesting points…

I thought the ‘Sanhedrin’ is no more? Or are you referring to an authoritative ruling from past records of the council?

I didn’t know about ‘the basic tenet that the Bene Ishmael have equal title over the Land’ – wow! Is that a minority opinion, is it just a reform/secular opinion?

Man – I am learning a lot…sorry if this is causing strife between you and Greasy – not my intent – sincerely.

The authoritative opinion of the Hanafi school (being the law enforced by the last caliphate, the Ottomans) is that non-Muslims can settle anywhere, even within the sacred precincts of the Hijaz and within Makkah and Madinah and enter either of those mosques. This is to clarify another criticism we Muslims get due to the way Saudis run things…

  154. Hello Talha,

I don’t know about exact numbers, but for sure some Jewish communities were forced out of their ancestral homelands when Israel came into being.

do you suppose it is anywhere near 750,000?

I don’t. The wording of the Wiki article suggests that some 750,000 Jews “fled”- presumably some kind of overt persecution of some kind. But I’m not aware of any on that kind of level post WWII. I’m sure there was hostility in some places for what the Jews were doing to the Arabs in Palestine, but I’m reasonably certain that most of the Jews who made Aliyah to Israel/Palestine during or after 1949 did so willingly and of their own accord, and not fleeing for their very lives. (Sort of like the Jews leaving France today, because of the burgeoning undercurrents of Muslim anti-Semitism in that formerly white, putatively Christian country).
Whereas that number of just over 700,000 is exactly the number of Palestinians who did literally flee the mass-murder and slaughter that was being perpetrated upon them for the very purpose of making them flee, in terror, from their homes and farms and lands- so that the Jews could steal it all. So for me, the numbers of persons who “fled”, are not just an ironic coincidence, but a dishonest flipping of the nuanced view of who were the victims and who were the villains.

May the Gods bless you and keep you

  155. Hi Talha,
While the formal tradition [since the Roman times] of having 71 Sanhedrin is not in place at the moment, there have been many attempts to re-constitute a body of ‘sages’ to make pronouncements on religious and secular matters. The trouble as always, has been the desire of the religious to assert monopoly over it. The secular leaders have not made any fuss over it, since the Israeli Supreme Court is truly in many ways the worthy preserver of secular principles [so while the religious courts indulge in many forms of repression against women and minorities, they are typically trumped in larger cases by the secular courts - a matter of anger, as you might imagine, amongst the religious who would prefer nothing better than enjoying the sustenance provided by the State and pretending to be Torah scholars, above the secular law]. Many of the historic Sanhedrin were Hellenists and clearly spoke of the need for religious life to revolve around sound secular life and not the reverse. They also promulgated that old rules and regulations in the Torah [archaic stuff like automatic eye for an eye in a murder case, stoning a woman for mixing prohibited threads in apparel, etc] were to be blocked by the majority vote of the Sanhedrin chamber. They also opined [and the latest as written by Rambam] that G’d had blessed the children of Ishmael be fruitful and live in many nations including Israel with Bene Itzhak. Now obviously this is disputed by the usual suspects, but its nevertheless true. This was in effect the desire of original Zionists, to create a 2SS and allow Arabs in Kibbutzim when they so desired.

  156. But the Land of Israel is a special case.

But, of course, it is, Greasy. And because Israel is a special case, it gets a free pass when it comes to adhering to moral principles?

Exceptionalism is the perception that a country, society, institution, movement, or time period is “exceptional” (i.e., unusual or extraordinary) in some way and thus does not need to conform to normal rules or general principles.

Now I understand why the neocons constantly appeal to American exceptionalism.

  157. Dear Sam,

The tension you describe between the secular and religious/traditional is also palpable within many Muslim countries but to a lesser degree (in my estimation) so this comes as no surprise.

Maimonides – no less – I had always thought once he came on the scene and made a pronouncement about something that everyone else basically shut up due to his authority (by virtue of intellect and knowledge) as arbiter. Kind of like Imam Nawawi (may God illuminate his grave) for the Shafi’i school. I wonder how much of his opinion was influenced by the generally cordial relations of the Muslims and Jews in Andalusia (before the AlMohads) and the intellectual exchange happening between some of the greatest Muslim and Arab minds.

May God bless you abundantly for taking the time to edify me. I know most folks these days are more interested in what Ms. Kardashian is or is not wearing, but that is the stuff for adult children – the content of these latest exchanges is what captivates my mind.

  158. the content of these latest exchanges is what captivates my mind.

    how true Talha,

    some truly edifying conversations here

One of my reasons for coming here is to try to get a handle on so many of these things that seem so incomprehensible. Like the murderous hatred between Russians and Ukrainians, or between Sunnis and Shiites, that are driving the planet to the brink.

I was recently talking to an Irish fellow I know and he was explaining how the “Troubles” were often between the Irish and other Irish, who simply were of different sects of the same religion, and I had always assumed it was a conflict strictly between the British (protestants) and the Irish (Catholics). But I was wrong, and sometime the harshest battles are between members of the same religion and race, with slightly different takes on some of the religious rites and tenets. Tragic.

Anyways, it’s truly a pleasure and satisfying to see so many perspectives laid bare and get (finally) a glimpse into some of these things that are never fleshed out in the media or even academia.

    So yea, it is captivating

    God bless

  159. Like the murderous hatred between Russians and Ukrainians

I’m not convinced this exists in the real world. I’ve met plenty of Ukrainians and Russians and never seen either side express any hatred, or even dislike, for each other.

  160. Maimonides – no less – I had always thought once he came on the scene and made a pronouncement about something that everyone else basically shut up due to his authority (by virtue of intellect and knowledge) as arbiter.

Haha! Yeah that seems like a pretty fair description. What is less important than the particular’s of Maimonides positions, however, was the way he combined faith and reason. In this he was influenced by contemporary Islamic scholars in Spain.

Since Maimonides time it seems both Muslims as well as Jews have retreated to Scriptural literalism and fundamentalism, which certainly isn’t all bad but has obviously created a lot of internal problems for both faiths. And yet fundamentalism seems to be the only way to deal with the poison of modern liberalism.

If it is merely an option of political organization with no more virtue than any other political settlement, it seems to be a whole heck of a lot of trouble.

Well the Kahanist, itself an offshoot of mainstream Religious Zionism, school of thought would say that Jewish sovereignty is a Torah obligation. Actually this was Maimonides’ position as well but I am unclear as to whether it predated him.

The “optional” school of thought can be seen in sects like Chabad, Breslov, Ger, Bobov and the “Lithuanian” branches of ultra orthodoxy.

And, like I said, there are those like Satmar and NK who say it is explicitly forbidden to the point where Jews need to actively resist it.

  161. Like the murderous hatred . . . between Sunnis and Shiites, that are driving the planet to the brink.

    how disappointing.

you spend time at Unz.com and don’t realize that the “hatred between Sunnis and Shiites” is manufactured by that entity the Saker calls the Anglo-zionists?

Sunnis and Shiites have lived together, intermarried, collaborated and cooperated for generations, maybe centuries, in the same kind of relationship as Protestants and Catholics.

Then along came the Anglos and the zionists to carve up their lands, deride their cultures, destroy their economies, and deliberately set them at each other’s throats.

  164. “hatred between Sunnis and Shiites” is manufactured by that entity the Saker calls the Anglo-zionists?

Not “manufactured” SC, but tweaked. Manipulated for some nefarious agenda or other. Just like all the other hot spots where they send in the war pigs like John McBloodstain to arm the scoundrels and foist war. South Ossetia, Georgia, Ukraine, Donbas, Syria, etc…

But there has to be hatred and strife to begin with. And then they use their NGOs and the CIA sends in teams and they foment murderous hatred where before there was only simmering resentment.

They know what they’re doing, they’ve been doing it a long time, and very successfully.

I’ve never really understood the hatred between Sunnis and Shias and perhaps, never really will. I’ve wondered if it was racial, like between Arabs and Persians, but that only seems to be part of it. I also think it has to do with local control. Religion is all about controlling people, and those who do the controlling always want to have more of it. So they send young men to the meat grinder so fat, old slugs can sit there like Jabba the Hutt and count their shekels and lick the tender young flesh of those children made orphans by their contrived wars and unlucky enough not to have died with the rest of their families. (At least the ones not sent to the British elite, who go through them pretty rapidly, and always need more).

You’re sympathetic to the Persians, and know a lot about all of that. Why do you suppose that the Sunnis and Shias hate each other so much? Why did the Saudis feel it was necessary to kill that popular Shia cleric?

Over some dogmatic interpretation of religious minutia that is sixteen centuries old?

Or for a baboon like need of mortal men who feel an ape-like imperative to have power over other men?

    IOW, for control?

First of all, Rurik, a friend has suggested that “throwing elbows” is not the best way to win friends and influence people, so instead of taking advantage of the anonymity of the internetz to react with sarcasm and vitriol, I re-thought and re-thought again before responding to your comment.

Next, to the heart of your comment, at which you arrive after having conceded all the (right) reasons why so many people think a deep Sunni-Shia chasm exists and has existed for “thousands of years” (never mind that Islam has not existed for multiple thousands of years). You rightly note the “nefarious” activities of NGOs, CIA, and the usual suspect.

All of this you wrap up right back where you started:

Why do you suppose that the Sunnis and Shias hate each other so much? Why did the Saudis feel it was necessary to kill that popular Shia cleric?

That’s easy: Saudis killed a popular Shia cleric because he was Iranian, and the degree of political representation that most Iranians experience within Islam is existentially threatening to the Saudi monarchy and the Wahhabist praetorian guard that protects the monarchy –

Nimr Baqir al-Nimr . . . was popular among youth and critical of the Saudi Arabian government, calling for free elections in Saudi Arabia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nimr_al-Nimr

In other words, it is about power but strictly political power that exploits religiosity but has very little to do with actual spirituality (if you will).

Croesus provides an example of how religious beliefs have been — and will likely continue to be — exploited to maintain power, and wealth, in the hands of the few. As you may recall, after having misinterpreted the oracle about waging war against the Persians, Croesus lost Lydia to the Persians and was captured by Cyrus.
The Persian king told Croesus to look upon what his mistake had caused: Persian troops were carrying away the treasure of Lydia.

Croesus responded, “That’s not my treasure they’re carrying away, it’s yours; you captured my Lydia.”

Whereupon Cyrus said, “What shall I do to prevent it?”

Croesus advised Cyrus to post guards who would tell the looters that they must pay tribute to the gods lest ill luck befall them. Thus, they would surrender their booty and would not harbor animus towards the Persian king.

If, however, Cyrus permitted the soldiers to retain their booty, they might acquire enough wealth to threaten the power of the king.

    It’s an old story.

Likewise it is often the case that religious leaders head movements that oppose government repression. Girolamo Savonarola spoke forcefully against injustices in Florence in the 15th century. Savonarola’s grievous error, as Machiavelli pointed out, was his failure to gain the backing of an army. It was too easy to kill him, with impunity.
To their credit, the Iranian government stands behind the religiously-informed quest of Sheikh Nimr al-Nimr.

PS This comment on Pat Lang’s blog is by an Iranian, now in the USA (I think) and also an older person (I think). He posted this the other day:

Babak Makkinejad said in reply to LeaNder…
Ahmadinejad’s speech was not meant for endearing himself or Iran to the Shoah Cultists of all stripes; chiefly among them the Western Diocletian states that equate a Love for the State of Israel as the ultimate touch-stone of (Western) Humanism.

The fact of the matter is that for reasons of religious principle – “God is Just” – as well as political and cultural solidarity – Islamic Iran oppose the existence of the State of Israel; her usurpation of Palestinians lands and the oppression of Palestinians.

In the language of Medieval Chivalry – which I hope you understand – Iran is the sole remaining Knight of Palestine.

On the other side, of course, are gathered all the Black Knights…

I understand that for Western Diocletian states, Love of the State of Israel is a principle component of their religion.

Since neither side has the power to overcome the other’s religious convictions – it is best to separate; sign a cease-fire over Palestine so that Palestinians can live in peace and pursue their interests without wanton death or humiliation at the hands of Israelis.

In the meantime, the other side, can organize tours to Yad Wa Shim to their hearts’ delight.

    http://turcopolier.typepad.com/sic_semper_tyrannis/2016/03/httpwwwslatecomarticlesnews_and_politicspolitics201603hillary_clinton_s_aipac_speech_was_a_symphony_of_craven_delu.html#comment-6a00d8341c72e153ef01b8d1b2c7a2970c

If Christians truly lived up to the core of their beliefs, or, more precisely, if Jesusians followed the example of Jesus, they too would join the White Knight in support of the Palestinian people.

Instead, Christians follow the counsel of Croesus, who was, in addition to being known for having misinterpreted the oracle and thereby lost his country, was also known for his lust for wealth.

  168. Why do you suppose that the Sunnis and Shias hate each other so much?

Its an old feud [as you may well know] with an uninterrupted run from the time Muhammed’s successor to the Caliphate of Islam was fought over. Even prior to the year 632, the two factions had ginned up their mutual dislike in the form of many battles and skirmishes. Since that time the two schisms have drifted apart significantly enough to consider the other almost a different religion.

The differences are numerous, [I worked in the Gulf for a period of time and know many Sunni and Shia persons]. They tell me that it effectively reduces to irreconcilable interpretations of the Hadith, and, over the centuries, customs and habits have emerged that are mutually alien [e.g the Sunni will very likely never name a son Ali or Hassan and are flabbergasted at the Shia observance of Muharram, where thousands of women start wailing at the top of their voices and men flagellate and cut themselves bloody recalling Karbala]. So despite S2C’s claim that the differences are minimal, observable facts are what they are.

Also this meme he propounds, where “there is an underlying theme of Zoroastrianism in Iran” is a bunch of bull’s wool. Most of the Z’s were slaughtered or converted under the sword by the Arabs and a great many fled to India where they prosper. The 20k or so currently residing in Iran were protected by an edict of Khomeini, much like the Inuit are protected in this country. They never intermarry [disallowed] with the Shia population.

Have the imperial powers used all of it to their advantage? Absolutely! But that is the nature of imperialism.

Well those are my thoughts. Perhaps Talha can enlighten further.

Now Rooz is a Zoroastrian celebration, it’s not Islamic.

The Iranian epic, the Shahnameh, is Zoroastrian.

Zoroastrian images and symbols are found everywhere in Iran. I saw them carved on bedsteads, shop windows, symbols on silver chains worn around the neck; on taxi cabs and doorways to private houses as well as shops.

Yazd is home to an active Fire Temple.

Zoroastrians who are nearing death are still cared for in a unique kind of hospice, and buried in a Zoroastrian cemetery just outside Yazd.

True, there are very few Zoroastrians worldwide — only about 200,000, and the majority of them are in India, having fled there from Iran at the time of Muslim takeover centuries ago. But I maintain that at its core, Iran is Zoroastrian, just as key books of the Old Testament are Zoroastrian; the biblical patriarch is not Abraham but Cyrus, the Zoroastrian; and the god figure in those OT books is not Yahweh but Ahura Mazda.

One of the least perceived but most fiercely fought of Jewish battles is the ancient and on-going battle for dominance over the origin and basis for what westerners think of as “biblical” religion, and from it, the foundation of Western civilization.

By the methods of meme-control, Jews have convinced most of the world that Jews invented monotheism, god, and universalist religious concepts. That this meme is false is belied by the contradictory notion that Jews are god’s chosen people, a meme maintained with fervor equal to that of insistence that Hebrew scripture is the One Book upon which civilization is built, and that it is a wholly-owned Jewish product.

Westerners don’t have much access to the complex writings of Zoroastrians, the Avesta and the Gathas. But understood properly, books in the Old Testament and much of what is recorded of Jesus’s sayings in the New Testament are pure Zoroastrianism.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55fCRqAlQoc

Jewish authors such as Amy-Jill Levine have built their careers on undermining not only the Zoroastrian elements in the New Testament — for example, Levine claims that the Three Wise Men, or Magi, who sought out the infant Jesus, were clowns or magicians, rather than scholars who had great knowledge of the cycles of the stars in the heavens — but also some core beliefs about the nature of Jesus.

Sam’s rush to reinforce the narrative that “Sunni and Shiite have been fighting each other forever” carries the whiff of desperation. True true that Islam split over who would carry on after Mohammed after his death, but Sam needs to collapse and conceal a vast amount of history, not least the extensive history of Jewish reliance upon ancient Persians in attempts to reclaim Jerusalem for Jews (in about 600 AD iirc), in his (or their — I think Sam Shama is a team identity) feverish quest to keep the goyim cemented in the notion that them savage Muslims have been hating on each other forever.

It’s another step in the Divide and Conquer strategy that Jews have been carrying on for over a century, from Mendelsohn to the Dreyfussards to the destruction of Christian Germany to the post-WWII hyphenation of religion and Judafication of Christianity in the USA à la Judeo - Christianity; the take-over of Protestant evangelicals via the Scofield bible as well as the outright purchase of zionist mouthpieces such as John Hagee etc. and more recently the zionist infiltration of the Vatican.

Zoroaster did not endorse division and spreading hate.

    Jews
    Do.

This is correct, this is part of their ‘Persian’ ethno-linguistic identity which predates them becoming Muslim. It has analogies in the way the Muslims in Egypt regard the symbols of the ancient Egyptian Dynasties/Empires.

Not so sure about the Zoroastrian origins (or Manacheist or Mithraic) origins of the Abrahamic faiths. But – full disclosure – I’m biased that way.

Thank you for your insights, let me see what I can add to the discussion…

Since that time the two schisms have drifted apart significantly enough to consider the other almost a different religion.

This certainly seems so in the minds of many ignorant Muslims (Shia and Sunni), but the reality is otherwise. Just recently, top-level Sunni and Shia scholars got together to dispel this notion of the charge of apostasy: http://ammanmessage.com/

The Zaydis are practically Sunni, so I’ll stick to the Twelvers when referring to Shia…

We both acknowledge the Uthmani script as the final Qur’anic document. We can intermarry (though not recommended by both sides), and eat the meat slaughtered by the other side (this seems like a petty detail – but the Muslims have used this as a euphemism to declare someone a Muslim or not). Being a knowledgeable Hanafi, it would take me an hour or so to learn the nuances in Shia prayer rules – whereas it may take me around 10 minutes to learn it from a different Sunni school. I have heard from the mouth of a Sunni mufti who taught us hadith sciences that there were known persons with known Shia leanings within chains of transmission for authentic hadith relied upon in the Sunni schools. This means they may have been considered to have a heretical view, yet were still considered upright and honest to rely upon for transmission. On the other side, the Shia (still) rely upon the brilliant works on solid Sunni medieval Persian scholars like Imam Taftazani (may God illuminate his grave) for teaching texts on the sciences of Islamic Jurisprudence.

They tell me that it effectively reduces to irreconcilable interpretations of the Hadith, and, over the centuries, customs and habits have emerged that are mutually alien…

Spot on – the chains of hadith we rely upon are just different, thus it leads to different conclusions. They also consider the 12 descendants of that line to be infallible – we only considered prophets to be infallible.

the Sunni will very likely never name a son Ali or Hassan and are flabbergasted at the Shia observance of Muharram, where thousands of women start wailing at the top of their voices and men flagellate and cut themselves bloody recalling Karbala

We do and will name our sons thusly. Our Master Ali (may God ennoble his face) and his sons are staples of the Sunni sages, scholarship and spirituality. All Sufi orders (save one) trace their lineage back to Master Ali (ra) and all of our noble family lines (Syeds, Sharifs, etc.) trace back to one of those two sons. Any ‘Sunni’ who rejects Master Ali (ra) or his sons is a fool. As far as Muharram practices, these are the ‘folk’ ways of ignorant Shias (kind of like Appalachian snake handlers); their scholars do not encourage this kind of extremism and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a Shia scholar get down to his skivvies and beat himself with a chain.

Most of the Z’s were slaughtered or converted under the sword by the Arabs and a great many fled to India where they prosper.

We need proof for this. The fact that the Caliph Umar (ra) considered them to be dhimmis and gave them protected status (like People of the Book) has been the specific proof used by the Hanafi and Maliki schools that dhimmi contracts can be extended to all religions. I’m sure there were isolated incidents, but as a policy Zoroastrians were not forced to convert. The conversion was a slow process, but people converted for social mobility or the fact that fire-worshiping just doesn’t hold water to transcendent monotheistic creed (again, my bias – put them side by side and judge for yourself) – at least under the Sunnis. The stuff starts hitting the fan when the Safavids take over. Up until then, Persia is a stronghold of Sunni scholarship (think Imams Ghazali, Razi, Nasafi, Tirmidhi, Baqillani, etc. – may God grant them a high station), mostly Shafi’i but also Hanafi. The Safavids really turned things around by suppression of all non-Shia (including the Zoroastrians) – this is not a point of historical debate:
    http://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/islam/history/safavidempire_1.shtml

It served as a raison detre for the existence of the Safavid empire vis-a-vis their territorial rivals, the Sunni/Hanafi Ottomans. I believe the Sunni world is still recovering from that loss centuries later. But this was centuries ago, and there has generally been a detente, like between the Pahlavi Dynasty and the rest of the Sunni world. For instance, look up images for ‘reza shah ataturk’ or ‘reza shah ibn saud’ or ‘reza shah king farouk’.

Recently, it has really been (in my opinion) 4 things causing this ‘hatred’ to rise up again:
    1. Iranian revolution – which the Saudis undermined.
    2. Resurgence of the Wahhabi and Salafi extremist ideology and their insistence that Shia are apostates. I have read that their influence has become so pernicious that they have bought out long-standing publishing houses for Arabic books in places like Beirut and Damascus and printing newer versions of classical Sunni works and editing/expunging them of views they do not like in newer versions. This is highly dangerous because a person could refer to a text that they think is from a solid traditional Sunni scholar of the past, but they will get the wrong answers.
    3. The breakdown of the Iraqi (then Syrian) nation states.
    4. Resurgence of regional rivalry between Iran, Saudi and Turkey – and their proxies.

The imperial powers love divide-and-conquer, but the dogs they have unleashed are now out of their control and biting their masters.

God, Who knows best, have mercy on all of us.

  173. One of the least perceived but most fiercely fought of Jewish battles is the ancient and on-going battle for dominance over the origin and basis for what westerners think of as “biblical” religion, and from it, the foundation of Western civilization.

Speaking of an attack on the foundations of Western civilization, this battle is not limited to religion, alone. It is also being fiercely waged against the secular foundations of Western civilization:

Just this is Martin Bernal’s objective in his recent book, Black Athena, subtitled The Afroasiatic Roots of Classical Civilization. Bernal,… tells his readers candidly that “the political purpose of Black Athena is, of course, to lessen European cultural arrogance.” Apart from the fact that this charge has become a straw man… Bernal’s account, and the political circumstances in which it appears, raise some important questions about scholarship and propaganda in the academy and, a fortiori, in what remains of the general culture.

The provocative, even sexy title Black Athena promises proof that the foundation of Greek culture, its philosophy, art, literature, and historiography—all, in short, that traditional humanists have held up as archetypes and models of Western greatness—was not, after all, the work of white Europeans but of Egyptians and Levantines. In fact the book does not prove or even argue anything of the sort. Its appeal to the anti-intellectual activists on America’s campuses is based on a deception. Bernal nowhere discusses Greece of the classical period; rather, he contends that Bronze Age Greece, of the second millennium B.C.(that is, a thousand years before the age of Sophocles, Phidias, and Pericles), was heavily influenced by, and perhaps even a colony of, Egypt and/or Phoenicia. This is an interesting argument, present-day ideology apart, but it offers no logical support whatsoever for the claim that “classical civilization” has “Afroasiatic roots.” What Bernal does is to announce that he is about to fire a devastating broadside at the intellectual and moral edifice of traditional classical scholarship and at the political uses to which it has supposedly been put. What follows is indeed a broadside—but one aimed at a completely different (and undefended) target. The original target remains intact, though Bernal and his admirers proclaim that it has been destroyed.

So, just as “Judeo-Christian” was a recently manufactured term for propagandistic purposes, so too is the newly coined term, “Afroasiatic.” We’ll see if the latter’s shelf life is anywhere near as long as that of the former’s.

I think reasons 3 and 4 in your list are not really causes but merely symptoms of another, more fundamental, cause. Which force has as their goal the remaking of the ME by foisting on the US the task of launching the GWOT (aka War on Islam), all in an effort to enhance the security of the villa in the jungle? Not sure why this force would not feature in your list of things ‘causing’ this hatred. Perhaps you have not had the opportunity to read PNAC’s A Clean Break or the Oded Yinon Plan. Or might there be another explanation?

  175. Thank you for your kind words and wishes.

I am not at all knowledgeable about the Quran nor of most of the scholarship on Islamic history and theology in Iran or elsewhere.

It was, however, my good fortune to have become friends with an Iranian Muslim who is deeply religious and who credits his nation’s political and social system with supporting a climate in which his religious practices are respected and supported. My friend was born in Iran but educated in California, where he converted to Islam (!)

It was also my privilege to have spent several days in the company of Dr. Fatemeh Keshavarz, author of Jasmine and Stars: Reading More than Lolita in Tehran.

Dr. Keshavarz’s goal was to refute the argument of Azar Nafisi in Reading Lolita in Tehran, that Islam as expressed in Iran is oppressive and backward, especially with respect to women.

Keshavarz was head of Middle East studies at Washington University in St. Louis when she published Jasmine and Stars. She is now director of the Roshan Institute for Persian Studies at the University of Maryland and was among the organizers of the U S Library of Congress Celebration A Thousand Years of the Persian Book.

    Nafisi is primarily an author.

Both women are daughters of Iran, and both women share their gifts and scholarly efforts with students in the USA.
From these and other Muslims, both Iranian and otherwise, and from observing Muslims at prayer and in service in Iran and elsewhere, I have learned that there is something qualitatively distinct about Iranians and, perhaps, Muslims, that is worth studying and imitating.
