For Americans concerned about Mexico and Mexicans, and what sort of wights they be, a little history may help. We seem to know almost nothing about a bordering nation of 130 million. It is not what most of us think it is. It is certainly not what the Loon Right would have us believe.

For many years, until 1910, Mexico was run by Europeans, lastly under Porfirio Diaz, for the benefit of Europeans. Literacy was extremely low with economic conditions to match. The country was indeed, to borrow a favorite phrase of those hostile to Latin Americans, a Third-World hellhole. Many nations then were, including China.

In 1910 the Revolution broke out. It was godawful, as civil wars usually are. It ended in 1921, followed shortly by the Cristero religious war until 1929. This had the usual hideousness favored by religious wars.

It left the country devastated. It hadn’t been much to start with, but now it was a wreck. Aldous Huxley, writing in 1934, saw no improvement. (Beyond the Mexique Bay) At least until 1940 much of Mexico was barely civilized, unlettered, lawless, and poor. Things were not all that swell in 1970.

Today, seventy-six years later (says the CIA Factbook), literacy is at 95%; the economy at $2.2 trillion, 12th in the world in PPP; median age, 28; population growth rate, 1.12%; mother’s mean age at first birth, 21.3; total fertility, 2.24 children per woman; life expectancy at birth, 76 years.

Mexico today has a large number of universities (the Technológico of Monterrey, a premier engineering school, has some thirty campuses in as many cities: Is that one university or thirty?) Mexico graduates well over 100,000 engineers a year, including 13,000 in software, and has a rapidly growing high-tech industry with centers in Guadalajara and Mexico City. Major American firms, to include IBM, Oracle, and Intel, come here to hire them.

And of course the internet, airlines, computerized everything, and teenagers pecking at smartphones.

This is a lot of change in less than a man’s lifetime. Those hostile to Latin Americans do not want to know this, and usually manage not to.

In many ways Mexico remains a mess, mostly because of organized crime and corruption. Distribution of wealth is badly unequal, being now what the US is becoming. Books could be written about what is wrong with the country. Finland it isn’t. But neither is it remotely a “Third-World hell hole” despite the squalling of such authorities as Ann Coulter, Manhattan’s premier she-ass.

It would be a good idea to retire the phrase, “Third World.” Any designation that includes both Buenos Aires and Haiti (I have spent time in the slums of Cite Soleil with the US Army) is so broad as to be without meaning. In 1930, China, Mexico, Thailand and so on could reasonably have been called hellholes. None of these even comes close today. The slums of India do, as does much of Africa, yes.

To grasp the degree of educational advance between the Mexico as it was as of 1940 and today, look at what is visible on the ground:

Go into an ordinary bank, with which Mexico is littered. The clerks have to understand exchange rates, intermediate banks, SWIFT codes. They sit at computers, which are networked within the bank and with national headquarters, requiring network engineers and software weenies. Multitudinous ATMs require network people and maintainers. Telmex, the quite good telephone monopoly, needs people to program and maintain switches and associated software. So do TelCel and ATT, cell-phone providers. Airlines need pilots and trainers of pilots, people to run and maintain high-bypass turbofans and avionics, the instrument-landing systems (ILS). The internet needs software people, router techs, help-line techs when someone’s modem fails (the techs are good). Also doctors and dentists, universities to train them, people who understand and maintain MRI gear, the usual elaborate diagnostic instrumentation, mechanics to run the diagnostic computers at car dealerships and understand what lurks under the hoods of today’s cars (which would baffle Stephen Hawking). And so on at great length. Similar observations could be made of many Latin American and Asian countries. Starting from roughly zero a few decades ago.

Anyone who actually lives here can see that the country continues to change at a high rate. The middle class grows. Internet speeds keep going up. Despite the ardent hopes of many web sites of the Loon Right, you do not come down with exotic diseases, or any diseases, by eating in restaurants. Schooling increases. Common is a mother, age forty with ten siblings, who has two children, both in university or tech schools. None of this is universal, but increasingly common. This in not up there with, say, a manned landing on Mars, but it is hardly consistent with stone-age hell-holedom.

What Mexicans are not, yet anyway, is driven in the sense that Americans often are. Young Mexican engineers are more so, but not the general population. A Mexican girl–to use an example I know–will go to dental school and then stay in her home town, however small, marry, fix teeth, and raise children. Mexicans seem less entrepreneurial than Americans. They tend to regard a job as a way of supporting a family instead of the other way around.

There is considerable social mobility, at least around the cities. Women start businesses here, often restaurants, stores, bars, or maybe assisted-care homes in regions favored by retired Americans (e.g., Lakeside Care, down the street), but seem content with enough. “Enough” means something to them that it often does not to Americans. Whether this is good or bad can be debated, but it makes for contentedness but not commercial empires.

ORDER IT NOW

How will the new Mexican-American population adapt to the United States? I don’t know. Neither does anyone else, though many who know nothing about it have firm opinions. Will the government turn them into a sprawling class of welfare dependents? Doubtless if it can. Will furiously hostile anti-immigrant lobbies make them into internal enemies? They want to, and it would be the end of the US.

Or will they clamber, rapidly or otherwise, into the middle class and cease to be of much interest? The latter, I think. An intelligent policy would be to encourage them, but we can do it anyway. They are pretty good people, not given to terrorism or mutilating their daughters or the knockout game, and they burn a minimum of cities. Everywhere I have been–LA, San Fran, DC, Huston, San Antonio, Pilsen and Berwyn in Chicago–they have seemed to be settling peacefully in. They have the potential to make it. We had better hope they get there.

  1. Why is organized crime such a feature, then? In many ways, it doesn’t sound like even a state that has control over areas of itself.

With a positive experience of Mexicans myself, I share some of Fred’s thinking, and see favourable Mexican-Anglo relations as a good thing for North America’s future … but my guess is that for some readers here, their impression of the Spanish-speaking presence in the USA is a little more along the lines of this photo of an expressive pretty Latina

  3. Deconstructing some myths that less informed American nativists might have about Mexico and middle-income countries generally = good.

Tacking on the political opinion in the last two paragraphs in an overly blunt manner = detracts from that.

And looks pretty weird, anyway. Why should a Mexican patriot such as yourself care about Mexicans’ immigration prospects in the US?

Better approach that would have spared you extra writing and readers’ ire: Note that net Mexican – as in, Mexican citizen – immigration to the US has been negligible in the past decade. Can also convert that into another bit of evidence for increasing relative quality of life there.

  4. I was in Mexico in 2008 and later 2014. It was very different than when I visited in 1984-1985. In the 80′s, Mexico was stereotypical Mexico. Today, it looks and feels like Malaysia (penag, KL), but without the Islam.

  6. It’s amusing how Fred Reed is unable to praise Mexico without taking numerous swipes at the United States. I’ve noticed the Brits and Irish do this as well. Maybe Fred is picking up their trolling style. Or maybe he’s from Anglo-Irish stock.

If you can’t praise Mexico without running down others, then I say your credibility is shot. You have an agenda, plain and simple. You’re the Baghdad Bob of Lake Chapala.

Then there’s this: “Will furiously hostile anti-immigrant lobbies make them into internal enemies? They want to, and it would be the end of the US.”

How so? The U.S. did great when it was 90% white, and in fact our standard of living was the highest in the world. Mechanized grape and cherry and lettuce pickers are turning Mexicans into obsolete farm equipment. To suggest they provide absolutely vital services that cannot be replicated by U.S. citizens is incredibly fatuous.

  7. Quelle surprise, Federico Rojo is at it again.

Doubtless Senor Rojo is correct, Mexico has improved considerably. So has nearly the entire Third World barring Haiti, Venezuela, Yemen, and a few African countries (and I do mean a few–most really have improved considerably).

This isn’t even entirely new, not even in Mexico. In fact under Porfirio Diaz Mexico experienced swift economic growth and social development (at the expense of rural peasants–hence the revolution).

But as all of Federico’s commenters know but he refuses to admit (owing to the siren spell of seduction cast by his swarthy temptress), none of this indicates that the mass of Mexicans are in any way equal to Americans.

Or more importantly–desired. It’s our country, we decide who gets to join it.

They want to, and it would be the end of the US.

The end of the US? What, are these people Federico himself admits are not terribly enterprising going to defeat us on the battlefield?

No, it will be the end of our long national nightmare. Some fraction of Mexicans may even remain after the dust settles and join us, while many others will be summarily ejected.

The Mexican patriot who pens these screeds will no doubt be delighted that so many brilliant potential engineers are returning home to make Mexico great again.

Someone needs to remind Fred that, as one American politico notoriously put it, “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best.”

Seriously, how does Fred imagine Mexico would react if America dumped the bottom ten percent of its population on Mexico, who not only crowded Mexicans out of their own cities, but insisted on speaking English instead of Spanish and celebrating the fourth of July instead of cinco de mayo?

  10. Lay off the Mexico stuff Fred. I’ve read most of FOE and find your writing style and depth of knowledge on many subjects to be entertaining and educational. But you are flogging a dead horse when it comes to being an apologist for anything Mexican. Until Mexico solves it problem with the drug dealers and their deadly impact on the lives of Mexican citizens, it will always carry the stigma of being a corrupt third world country no matter how many engineers it graduates .

  11. @Bragadocious

Fred is an asset to them. The way he incessantly talks up Mexicans, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn he’s in el Presidente’s employ.

  12. KenH says:

Will furiously hostile anti-immigrant lobbies make them into internal enemies? They want to, and it would be the end of the US.

It was only a matter of time before Freddy took a dump on white Americans who have the temerity to oppose their nation being turned into a Mexican colony. In most of his articles he always makes a point to unload a little excrement and guilt tripping on whites who don’t accept his pollyanna views of Mestizos in Mexico and America.

Generally, Mexican-Americans are not as hostile towards whites and insufferable as blacks are, but there are still problems and tension and that is largely the fault of Mexicans. For starters, the presence of illegal aliens, who are mostly the genetic wastrels of Mexico, has destroyed many smaller towns and cities and with it, the good will of the white citizens who used to think they were so hard working and friendly when they were but a small minority. Gangs and juvenile delinquency are a serious problem within the Mexican community and they’ve made areas of cities very dangerous for non-Mexicans (note: but their racial terror against blacks is poetic justice).

They have many racial organizations that are highly antagonistic towards white Americans and there’s no shortage of Mexican politicians who are race baiting firebrands. Exhibit A is La Raza and Tom Perez, head of the DNC.

So sorry Fred, contrary to your wet dreams and propaganda, most Mexicans have not come to America with the best of intentions and to assimilate. Rather, they’ve come to recreate large and small little Mexico’s inside the United States while reaping the largesse and government services that are the hallmarks of prosperous white nations.

Centuries of struggle, with countless lives lost, for these gems of Western civilization exchanged for the “pleasure” of multi-racialism and multiculturalism. Freedom exchanged for nothing but misery and burden.

Your bitterness at not being able to get quality white pussy isn’t a legitimate socio-political position, Fred. I’ve never met a white person who married a non-white who was quite mentally sound. I’m sure they exist but they are the rare exception.

  14. Mr Fred you explain your people how the cost of living in México is lower than USA, many Americans are here in Old Mexico for this very simple reason; how many Americans are living in Mexico just for this reason, thousands and many more are coming; Mr. Fred ask your people why nobody in America takes care for this senior people, ain´t they their brothers, they are not living in Mexico just for fun they miss their country and nobody miss them they just call those people in need…. traitors. but who is the real traitor?. those senior Americans are welcome in Mexico.

  15. TheBoom says:

Fred views Mexico through Gringo glasses . All but one Mexican I met when living there – rich to working class – would rather live in the US. The cab drivers would almost all repeat verbatim “in the US if you work hard, you get ahead. Not Mexico!” There is a very widespread frustration with a culture of corruption and “mediocrity” and a strong belief that everything is stacked against the average person.

Take away remittances from Mexicans living in the US (which are a major segment of the economy) and all the (formerly US) jobs that have been created through NAFTA and Mexico would be in trouble. They are being propped up at the expense of the American worker. Without the sacrifice of the US working class, Mexico would have to be build a real economy.

  16. Rounding out the top three undesirables, all for quite different reasons:

    1. Negros – No Explanation Necessary
    2. Moslems – While perhaps fine people, their religion and customs are a poor fit for North America. They as a group are also notoriously thin skinned, any perceived insult to them regarding their race, religion, Koran, customs, etc. does not end well up to and including outright jihad or enlistment of quasi-powerful liberal types in defense of these qualities. Anyone who has worked around moslems, particularly at the lower end of the blue collar world is well aware of their fiery nature defending “their rights” or straight out shit talking the country they find themselves in.
    3. Jews – These are people who refuse to labor, have tribal over national or continental allegiance, have an outsized interest in careers in law, government and finance, and generally cannot function if they are not somehow figuring out a way to rule over, influence, propagandize or fleece someone not belonging to their tribe, otherwise known as the “mark” or “goy”. When #2 on this list gets a burr under his saddle from a native, it is typically a #3 leading the charge in the legal system to chastise and punish them to whatever extent a judge, jury, politician or media outlet can be invited to do so. #3′s are relentless in their pursuit of teaching marks that the only thing worse than crossing a #2 is crossing a #3. They have successfully achieved legal remedy in most countries other than the US for any language natives employ that agitates them. They have made sure that they have their own special offense that is based on public confession of distaste for them called anti-semitism that in today’s politically correct climate can only be exceeded by public admission of distaste for #1′s. Human liberty is not something this group is particularly in to, seeing as they prefer using all the various tools of the state to remedy their ills, and any opportunities to expand the size and scope of the government are music to their collective ears.

Latin Americans, particularly the continental varieties are not bad when they come in a trickle. Interestingly enough the island varieties, while they look down their noses at the continental latins, have a predominante percentage of worthless whiny stock. Take the Puerto Rican’s for instance, they largely fled from their homeland after the hurricane only to point the finger at the United States government as the problem actor.

Whaaaa? I really didn’t disagree with your article until this last part. What do you mean, will they? Most of them already are, at least partially.

I can’t really improve upon most of the comments here, but I too wonder why you keep up this writing that belongs in a Mexican Chamber of Commerce brochure. I enjoyed your article on diving last week, but it didn’t get many comments. I now think that you are just writing articles to create the most controversy for the unz comment section. Is it all about the pesos, Fred?

  18. @Rio Grande

Yeah, it’ll all work out pretty well for you senior ex-pats until the US dollar goes down the toilet. You’d best put your money into something tangible if it is not too risky, or at least other currencies. There are a lot of places to stash your loot in the Sierra Madre, as I learned from a movie one time.

  19. Just another observation: A large contingent of native white American people have embraced the cultural rot largely emanated en masse by the #3′s and their associates and fellow ideological travelers, and it is many of the good Christian Mexicans who these days care for their aging parents, particularly the absentee native whites who have fled their hometowns for the metros but have not made it big enough to put their parents in nursing homes. We can preen and shit talk latins all day long, but they maintain much stronger family ties, and to some degree, particularly their women, continue to possess traits that a large contingent of our women sold out long ago. Furthermore, they did so with the blessing and encouragement of our most esteemed leadership. I hope we rid our nation of these nefarious actors, but I’m not holding my breath.

There comes a point where financialization, media, hype, marketing, keeping up with the Jones’s, etc will no longer cover for our people’s glaring deficiencies in these areas. Looking at the latest debt numbers from the St Louis FED, it appears the deficient contingent is back up to their eyeballs in debt, so don’t expect any big changes in their behavior.

Sad commentary on our side of the fence.

I was once banned from the Bob Grant radio show in the 1990s for suggesting the US use the crisis of ’94-95 to do a leveraged buyout of Mexico. $10k for every man, woman, and child plus debt foregiveness would have sealed the deal. As with so many other things, I was right, and Bob is now dead.

  23. Travis says:

Mexico deports more hispanics each year than the United States….would be interested to see Fred discuss how Mexicans treat illegal aliens. It is in stark contrast to the treatment we give to Mexicans here in America, where they are welcomed, granted amnesty, given free health care, allowed to obtain drivers licenses, granted free education to their children, food stamps, affirmative action to give them preferences etc…

When I lived in Mexico , for 3 months in 1994 , I was stopped by the police several times and forced to show my papers….again I lived in Mexico for 6 weeks in 1996 and was again stopped twice by the police asking for my documents. My traveling companions also were stopped at various points in time during our travels in Mexico. Why not do an article on how Mexico mistreats foreigners ? They still prohibit Americans from buying land within 100 miles of the coast.

There is a natural fit between “conservative” anglos and “conservative” latinos in that they share many social values. Your citation of family values is one example. The two groups would probably be best served by joining together to champion those values against the efforts of #3s to destroy them. Perhaps much of the anti-mexican rhetoric that exists in America is in reality sponsored by #3s as a divide and conquer mechanism?

Anglos might do well to remember that many of their finest achievements have roots in the “latin” world of Europe. For example, the Republic of Venice had a parliament and president (doge) elected by universal suffrage over 300 years before the Brits got around to declaring “rights for aristocrats” (Magna Carta). Buying Property in Mexico | How To Buy a House in Mexico

    https://www.globalpropertyguide.com/Latin-America/Mexico/Buying-Guide

….. In 1973, a constitutional amendment known as the Foreign Investment Law allowed foreigners to purchase real estate anywhere in Mexico except the restricted zone that consists of areas within 100 km (64 miles) of international borders or within 50 km (32 miles) from the coastline at high tide. In 1993, Mexico amended the constitution to allow foreigners to purchase real estate within the restricted zone by means of a fideicomiso.

The fideicomiso is a bank trust wherein the bank (trustee) holds the trust deed for the purchaser (beneficiary). While the trustee is the legal owner of the real estate, the beneficiary retains all ownership rights and responsibilities and may sell, lease, mortgage, and pass the property on to heirs. The fideicomiso is authorized by the Mexican Government under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs…..
    _________________________________________________________________

That system is actually better than the “leasehold” systems that the Brits run (you can only own/sell a lease on the property). Americans in places like NYC, Silicon Valley, …… might also be better off with a legal system that protects them from foreign property speculators.

It’s good to see Mexico making strides. We all want a nice and prosperous Mexico.

But let’s face some facts. Mexicans feel lots of resentment about Anglos. This is actually common all across Latin America. White Latinos feel envious of Anglo achievement. It’s akin to Spanish and Italian envy of Northern Europeans who’ve done so much better.
Among non-white ‘Latinos’, there is a racial resentment. This racial animus exists in Latin America too, but due to greater race-mixing, the white vs non-white line is more blurred there. But it’s more clearer in the US where whites have remained more white than in Latin America. So, the simmering racial tension in Latin America — where even whites pretend to be mixed — comes to the fore in America where the differences between white and non-white is far clearer.

Also, all these Mexers in the US might not be so bad if not for PC and cuck-behavior among whites. In the past, Anglos were proud and earned the respect of Mexicans. Sure, Mexicans had bitter feelings about arrogant gringos and US takeover of SW, but they still admired gringos as a great people. But whites are now cucks in the US. They obey Jews and grovel before blacks. So, Mexicans now see gringo as puta.

Also, it’s not just Mexicans who come across the border. It’s people from Central America. And now, even Muslims and Africans come to Mexico and try to cross the border.

Also, even though Mexican population growth has stabilized, there are still poor underclass folks who have too many kids, and Mexico tries to push THESE people into the US.

  32. Man…the level of stereotyping here is absolutely incredible. Seriously…what’s the ‘Muricans problem with people who have a little melanin in their skin?

Some here belabor the cartel violence in Mexico, using it as an argument that it makes it a 3rd world hell-hole. So, I ask: how much drug violence is there in ‘Murica? A little to much to be pointing the finger elsewhere, isn’t it? And getting rid of that violence in Mexico is pretty straight forward: either push for decriminalization here, quit buying drugs, or figure out some way to get Colombia to border the US, so the drugs don’t have to pass through Mexico. Bam! Problem solved.

Some have complained, rather South Park-like, that ‘dey toook ar jaaawwbs!”. Do you realize this wouldn’t happen if “our” bottom 10 percent, “our” own low-skill/low-education crowd–the richest “poor” people on the face of this earth–would do the menial labor jobs (construction labor, agriculture, entry-level service work) that the majority of the so-called ‘illegals’ do, that economic opportunity would not exist and they would either stay there, or seek other opportunities? No, it’s not the fault of our overbearing welfare state, and a pervasive ‘murican belief that some jobs are just too laborious for good n’ righteous ‘muricans…it’s those damn illegals sneaking in here! Reminds me of something about stones and glass houses…but I forget why.

Yeah, there’s corruption in Mexico. Some police, some military, *most* politicians…and that’s different from ‘Murica, how? At least most Mexicans understand and accept that their system is corrupt, as opposed to the rose-colored glasses crap that goes on here. (BTW…is ‘murica great again, yet?)

Finally, remember all the places Mexico invaded and/or bombed the hell out of? Remember all governments they have overthrown and installed sympathetic puppet governments? Or how they use the peso to economically beat everyone else into submission? Yeah, I thought so…damn them for minding their own damn business.

Our friends, an architect and university instructor in Mexico, lived in a small two-bedroom apartment in Mexico City and drove a broken-down VW beetle. She cleans houses and he waits tables in the United States … and they believe they have a much higher quality of life in the United States than in Mexico.

The thing that really gets them about Mexico … is the pervasive violence. Fred mentions ATMs. Our friend says that in Mexico an armored car servicing ATMs is, in fact, two armored cars with ten guards carrying military-grade automatic weapons. He is amazed that in our community it is one armored car with two guys carrying pistols.

She says that the violence in Mexico City is so pervasive that a mother cannot, in safety, take her baby to the local park for a stroll. On the contrary, we live in a “lake” community with finely manicured public areas, including networks of paths around the lakes. Having lived here for 19 years, we cannot recall one instance of anyone being assaulted, mugged, or worse on the lakes and paths.

Our friends in a sense voted with their feet in the choice between their way of life in the United States and their way of life in Mexico.

For a perspective on violence in Mexico, it might be useful if Fred referenced the State Department’s travel advisories on Mexico. Most of the country, including the popular resorts in Cancun, Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, and Tulum are on notice.

  35. She says that the violence in Mexico City is so pervasive that a mother cannot, in safety, take her baby to the local park for a stroll.

That’s probably an overstatement. In general, people’s impressions of whether an area or an activity is safe or not are completely unreliable. The only way of speaking even approximately objectively about crime/safety is to cite statistics. And even then, one person’s assessment of “safety” can differ greatly from another’s. For one person, knowing that a single murder has taken place in their city is enough to make them paranoid; for someone else, New York may be perceived as crime-free – if they’ve previously lived in Detroit.

There are reasons why the english language is so full of spanish-language words like: constitucion, libertad, legal, ……

We can preen and shit talk latins all day long, but they maintain much stronger family ties, and to some degree, particularly their women, continue to possess traits that a large contingent of our women sold out long ago.

Latin Americans, particularly the continental varieties are not bad when they come in a trickle.

The pessimist in me wants to say that you know the game is lost when even immigration skeptics fumble this badly, even if they’re just doing it in order to sound moderate.

The reality is that unless you want to some day be completely overrun, you have to cut the immigration flow off completely. There is simply no other way.

Whether the flow is a trickle or a flood hardly makes a difference in this respect (although the former is of course more bearable, or at least seems so). Drip by drip, your bathtub will eventually overflow, unless you turn off the tap.

How Neocons Destabilized Europe – Consortiumnews

    https://consortiumnews.com/2015/09/07/how-neocons-destabilized-europe/

….. When I first encountered the neocons in the 1980s, they had been given Central America to play with. President Ronald Reagan had credentialed many of them, bringing into the U.S. government neocon luminaries such as Elliott Abrams and Robert Kagan. But Reagan mostly kept them out of the big-power realms: the Mideast and Europe.

Those strategic areas went to the “adults,” people like James Baker, George Shultz, Philip Habib and Brent Scowcroft. The poor Central Americans, as they tried to shed generations of repression and backwardness imposed by brutal right-wing oligarchies, faced U.S. neocon ideologues who unleashed death squads and even genocide against peasants, students and workers.

The result not surprisingly was a flood of refugees, especially from El Salvador and Guatemala, northward to the United States. The neocon “success” in the 1980s, crushing progressive social movements and reinforcing the oligarchic controls, left most countries of Central America in the grip of corrupt regimes and crime syndicates, periodically driving more waves of what Reagan called “feet people” through Mexico to the southern U.S. border…..

One used to vote Republican until Mittens Romney encouraged illegal aliens to self deport and truthfully stated that 47% of the nation won’t vote for him because they are receiving government assistance in various forms. That was just too much for this man’s Mexican sensibilities since most of his people are disproportionately receiving government assistance.

All this talk of STEM education being the cure to all our ills also misses the boat. If anything we could probably use more people interested in normal occupations than high-tech. High tech has pretty much already arrived, unless the ideal future in mind is just basically The Jestsons where every one just pushes buttons all day. And perhaps that is the future of the metros, filled with a bunch of politically correct navel gazing busybodies trying to save the world by signing petitions on their iPhones, engrossed with what laws are being written this week a la NPR, just knowing if they can all band together they will eventually conquer any remaining pockets of red blooded gun toting, liberty seeking Americans who actually understand and identify with the principles the country was founded on. Oh wait.

If they were really so enlightened rather than brainwashed they would realize the extent to which they are herded and psychologically conquered not unlike cattle, and how every time they band together to take away freedoms from their fellow man, they decrease the time until the American project unravels.

If they only understood the lengths the man behind the curtain had to go to keep the dream alive. There is a point to life beyond trying to edit DNA, figure out how to make sure humans never have to break a sweat via manual labor etc. IMO the rubicon has done been crossed. We are approaching “peak prosperity with liberty”. Next stop is living under a hidden technocracy. The tools for this are already in place, many Americans are knowingly placing microphones in their homes, which feed into the big data machines. These sort of arrangements have been tried in the past. The economists in charge are contemplating sending every one a check at the next downturn.

It has never been more important than now to choose a career doing something one enjoys rather than looking at salary. When all the work is gone via automation as some claim is around the corner, we will have serious problems on the horizon.

You have an agenda, plain and simple. You’re the Baghdad Bob of Lake Chapala.

Haha. Very true. Even the image he chose for the article is classic propaganda.

The US whites are being forced to surrender their own country to the lower IQ strangers with vastly different sensibilities and loyalties. The same is happening in Europe but faster and with much worse invaders. This is neither accidental or hidden. The globalists are fairly open about their plan to see the white race disappear and the brown “guests” are happy to oblige.

Fred is basically channelling Sadiq Khan:

    - “Most beaners are good people” – Yes, of course, but this is true for every country in the World – if one bothers to visit. Most people just want to live in peace and prosper. The problem arises when you move millions of them into another, smarter country, where they form a distinct, semi-permanent underclass. That average 88 IQ immigrant beaner is suddenly finding himself at the bottom of the socio-economic totem pole. In Mexico he was happy and “good” but in the US he’s unsatisfied and not so good natured (surprisingly enough, a person’s happiness is closely linked to their position in the surrounding human ecosystem). His 88 IQ son will be even worse since he’d be lacking his father’s sense of accomplishment when he moved to the US. He’s starting at the bottom of his ecosystem and the globalists are ready to teach him about the evils of white man.

    - “Mexico is not that bad” – Who cares. Just stay there and enjoy. The underlying assumption that the population is as capable as any other is obviously wrong but you don’t get the right to mass-migrate regardless. People are a territorial species for a reason.

    - “Don’t criticise the beaners or else” – This one is classic Khan and probably the dumbest argument on the list. Why the fuck would anyone import millions of people who are prone to become hostile when criticised? Are we on the same planet? This “reasoning” can only lead to further misery and polarisation. The goal is, of course, to pacify the host population and victim-blame them to extinction.

There was never a time like this. The time you are referring to (1925-1975) was also when Italians, Poles, and Jews were not considered white.

Sure it was 85% white under TODAY’s definition of ‘white’, but not under the contemporary definition of ‘white’. This is what WN idiots never grasp.

Under the 1870 definition of ‘white’, only 20% of Americans are white (even Irish were excluded from this definition). But in the future, Hispanics in Asians will be reclassified as ‘white’, and White Nationalists will go along with it, just like they did in the past.

This is the point that Fred Reed deliberately neglects to address in every one of his “Mexico is great” columns. While he is busy praising the developments in Mexico, taking a few minutes here and there to paint all those who would enforce immigration laws as the “Loon Right”, he misses the very point that Trump made during his campaign, that point that was simultaneously used by the corrupt media as evidence of his racist, intolerant views while it was embraced by American citizens, white, black and yes, hispanic, as the truth. “They aren’t sending us their best.” Now, if I had been in Bannon’s shoes at the time, I would have hammered into Trump’s head the idea that Mexico is not “sending” us anyone! The folks, tempted by economic realities (free stuff, DREAMER status for kids, jobs, potential amnesties), were just coming. So Trump’s mistake was in how he voiced his opinions, which happen to be truths. Fred: Their best aren’t coming. The software engineers, the dental assistants, the entrepreneurs, the medical professionals, the STEM professionals are NOT breaking the law and sneaking in. Fred: Those who ARE breaking the law and coming in are not skilled, not educated, and by the very act of entering the US illegality, not prone to respect the law. What they are willing to do is accept low-paying jobs that should be filled by low-skilled white and black US citizens at wages well below what the laws of supply and demand would set if they weren’t here. Get this through your head!

Fool, the immigrants that you refer to as “not white” happened to share the same cultural roots, similar religious beliefs (not the Jews, and I NEVER say “Judeo-Christian”) and an ability and desire to assimilate and become part of the “American dream”. Where to begin with this? Who is insane enough to want “internal enemies”? These “lobbies” that Fred smears with “furiously hostile anti-immigrant” (he forgot “racist”) think for pretty good reasons that the three-decade influx of Mexicans into California has not made California a better place. It has, however, made it a one-party (Democrat) ruled state, and, inevitably, rampant corruption — sort of like the Mexican PRI which the Democrats increasingly resemble. There are interests groups converting immigrants into “internal enemies”. They are called universities, insane asylums run by the inmates.

  75. i more or less agree with fred here…i am definitely anti-immigration, and want to build the wall, and I want to stop mexico from meddling in american policy…but mexico is not a hellhole, and their more laid-back approach is better than ours…and their government is not as intrusive and controlling as ours…they can build homes more easily…while we go into massive debt for homes…a middle class person in mexico has a better life than a middle class person here…also, their climate is better than ours, in general.

  76. Nearly every word you utter is all the more reason to enforce our immigration laws in full.

But let’ get something straight I on the right don’t care whether Mexicans are the rascals or he salt of the earth. That is immaterial to the issue.

The issue which was and remains salient is that the illegal immigration and the subsequent illegal immigrants who reside here are part an underground that undermines the US economy and undermines US citizens employment and other features that are entitled to as citizens. They must go.

The US citizen has every right to demand that her sovereignty be respected and honored.

Adult males, females should take their children with them, as i expected as parents, because they are not citizens merely because they are born here. And that includes that tricky band of DACA recipients, another gambit by the establishment to create more liberal democrats and o cheap labor.

And every single one of them residing in the US illegally, should head back to their non-third world country.

  77. Here’s something that the author seems void of acknowledging for fear that it might upset his agenda.

Nearly every single mexican believes that the US stole the southwest from Mexico. And that their occupation is should be tolerated if not celebrated as reclaiming stolen property. A mexican Pres who is aiding and abetting the violation of US soil is in fact, supporting a violation of international and engaged in a form of warfare.

There are probably millions of adult native Spanish-speaking foreign nationals in the U.S., who finished the equivalent of high school education in their home country, who don’t know the correct way to spell “voy” (Spanish word for I go) or “vengo” (I come). I have no idea how we expect them to learn to read and write English.

Why don’t they just concentrate on building a wall to deny us all their Mexican wonderfulness? And leave us ‘right wing loons’ to suffer their absence? Don’t we deserve it?

Shouldn’t you be preaching all this to them? Do you ever do that? Would your wife allow it?

right now many Mexicans (and El Salvadorians and Somalis and Brazilians and Haitians and Kenyans…) are riled with hatred for Trump and his deplorables.

They’ve enjoyed a trajectory in N. America where the working class (of all races) were expected to give up what little they had to make room for third world (yes, it exists) replacements. Who work cheaper and more importantly, were eventually going to be the demographic stake in whitey’s heart. The glee with which they all assumed whitey was not long for this world is incalculable, as they marched into Europe and Sweden and Texas and N. Carolina as conquering armies, even given preferential treatment over the indigenous citizens. Just consider, if a few more immigrants would have already been here, then Hillary would be in the White House right now.

so now that Trump and his deplorables have slowed down that trajectory, they’re terrified that whitey might just remember when he had his nads, and decide to stay awhile. This is an existential crisis for La Raza and radical Jihad, BLM, SPLC and Fred.

It’s isn’t that he hates (some ; ) of us, it’s that his crew down there are apoplectic over the news that whitey sill has some cojones, and they were all assuming his huevos had been rotted by guilt, and he was going to gently walk away from his civilizations and let the third worlders have it all if they just called him ‘racist’ a few more times.

So Fred is doing damage control to all his butt-hurt Mexican neighbors, friends, family and associates who’re terrified that Trump is going to send tens of thousands of the worst violent criminals back down to Mexico, where crime is already a massive problem, where the cartels slaughter villagers if they even suspect someone snitched on them. Instead of keeping the floodgates open to an eventual Reconquista.

Now, instead of the Reconquista, there may be throngs of ultra-violent rapists and murderers coming home to Mexico, instead of coddled in ‘sanctuary cities, and you can understand why Fred has to rail against Trump, or face some very angry faces for siding with the gringos.

We can preen and shit talk latins all day long, but they maintain much stronger family ties, and to some degree, particularly their women, continue to possess traits that a large contingent of our women sold out long ago.

“Hispanics” in the US–that’s dominated by the Mexicans–have a 50%+ illegitimacy rate. That’s compared to something in the high 20s for whites.

These numbers bounce around from year to year–with a general upward trend. But for 2014–the most recent data that popped for me–
    Illegitimacy:
    black — 71.2%
    Mexican origin — 51.6%
    non-Hispanic white 29.2%
    Asian — 16.4%

They may have had strong family ties, but Mexican women are hardly showing “positive traits”. They look to be even sluttier and sloppier–and more civilization destroying–than white women.

The African lady, a native French speaker, was saying that she worked as a security guard. The Latina was volunteering at a “Non-profit” in hopes that would translate to an actual job as she was currently unemployed. She talked about her kids and it was clear that there was no husband in the picture. As we rode past some ticky-tacky, new, “Low income housing” both ladies perked up and said that they had put their names on the list to get a house. Re the constant refrain “when Mexico sends its people it doesn’t send its best”.

First of all, Mexico doesn’t SEND anyone or anything: not people, not air, not even postcards. Emails and letters are sent, goods sold are sent (by ship, air, or truck), and livestock may be sent when sold. No Sir, people are NOT sent, because they, like wind, simply blow in through borders made porous, or drift past poorly manned borders, and sometimes whoosh in through the crevices. If air blows into your home, don’t blame the wind, blame your own negligence in shutting the windows or the shoddy workmanship of your builders.

The Joe Blows blowing in from Mexico are just that: ordinary people looking to better their lives. In planned and managed numbers and quality, their influx can be mutually beneficial. As hordes of illegals, they are nothing but a disaster in the making.

If the Democrats, the courts, the cute progressives, and the loony left have thrown open all windows, why blame those who then come in? A lot of dislike of Mexico is based on defective logic. Fault those who undermine laws and immigration control at home, not Mexico.

“We have been assaulted. It’s an act of terrorism. One of the most frightening things for me and most of the people in my life is that the people creating the assault are among us.”

and this is what they’re teaching here in the ZUSA. One can only imagine what they’re saying about Trump and the Deplorables down in Mexico. On the campuses and in the streets and dinner tables.

There is anger and rage and race hate seething under the surface, as these people have been told that whitey is an evil racist oppressor, and that he is going to get his comeuppance and soon!

And sure enough, they’ve been able to demographically seize entire states away from whitey and make them their own. They’ve effectively ‘Reconquista’d California, and the dominoes were all ready to fall.

There’s a lot of anger down there isn’t there Fred?

Fred speaks of the charms of Mexico and the relative likeability of Mexicans, and I agree wholeheartedly. But even here in the states, when you talk to Hispanics, (I know and work with lots of them), there is an obsession with Trump. This is supposed to be the century when Western civilization falls. When La Raza is triumphant, and whitey is finally, at long last, put in his place. I read the cited ‘study’…and it invalidates itself right in the conclusion: “The correlations between human pigmentation, aggression, and sexuality (and IQ), is further supported by the anthropological and sociological research…” Correlation is not causation. I think it would strike most anyone as absurd to exclude sociological and economic influences as they relate to incarceration rates for violent crime, than the significance of genetic composition.

Crime statistics show that black on black crime is much more likely than black on anyone else. It’s not a governmental study by a ‘leading’ researcher, but reading the Chicago Tribune or Baltimore Sun for a month would validate this assessment. So, do blacks in Chicago violently aggress against one another because they have more melanin, or due to other factors: limited economic opportunity? poor living conditions? a cultural/tribal need to acquire ‘street cred’, to move up the cultural hierarchy by out-violencing the violent? a cultural idealization (via music, TV and movies) of ‘thug life’ as being glamorous and desirable? failure of our educational system? simply boredom? Equal parts of all of these? Half of these reasons, plus 20 others? Honestly, I don’t know, but genetics would seem to pale (no pun intended) in comparison. “White trashionalists” LOL. What a clever wordsmith you are, Apu. I can only think of the lyrics from Bengalis in Platforms. “He only wants to impress you.” And you’ve dotally done that!

  142. @Bragadocious

Thomm obviously doesn’t know what the word “nation” means, as it stems from L. natal, meaning birth. A nation is people related by birth. “White Nationalist” or “Black Nationalist” or “Chicano Nationalist” is simply redundant.

Oh, I’ll wager Thomm never critiques La Raza (The Race.) Just Whites. Why is that?

True. As a white European man, I’m willing to fight and perish (and watch all my loved ones perish) if we can remove the parasite from the face of humanity. We’ll do it for our children and no deformed sub-culture with promises of being the chosen ones can top that.

No, faggot. The Irish were emphatically considered non-white, and later the Italians were also considered non-white. And not just because Irish and Italians were Catholic.

Quite a lot of people read about Irish and Italians being nonwhite but nobody remembers it, because it didn’t happen. In census records, in the fair number of Southern Irish slaveholders, they were always white.

That’s because as Fred’s saying, the MSM shares that (absolutely genuine) photo nationally. But Border Patrol’s continuous confrontations with ‘activists’ stationed at the border, throwing rocks and such to try to foment an incident are only reported locally. I’ve seen many many incidents. Example : I saw BP evict a trailer encampment in Jacumba Ca. (nice SPA) around 2004. They said they we’re affiliated with a well known org. They sat around, well armed, drank beer, cussed mexicans, and threw rock. They eventually hit some people on the other side with rocks and BP who has been surrrounding them moved in and, I believe charges were filed. Locals, (perhaps, excepting beer and ammo merchants) were pleased. This incident was well publicized locally. Coincidentally, I haven’t heard much about the militia style border helper ‘activist’ organizations since that confrontation. This is all easy to confirm. But you have to look for it! :-(

Indeed. Here is a drawing from Harpers that appeared in the NYT in 1899, or just 118 years ago. Irish were considered ape-like :

The WNs of the time were just as opposed to the Irish then as they are to Mexicans today. Countless films were also about this (Gangs of New York, with Daniel Day Lewis and Liam Neeson, among them).

Even you can’t be that dumb.

The movie was made in 2002, but the period setting was 1846 and then 1858. Bill the Butcher (Lewis) was vocal about how he hated the Irish.

Anyone who know anything about history knows that many ‘whites’ of today, were not considered ‘whites’ at various points in history.

Under the 1900 definition of white, if applied today, only 20% of Americans are ‘white’.

In addition, don’t forget the One Drop Rule, which would disqualify almost all Americans of today other than the Amish and Utah Mormons, and recent Eastern European immigrants.

    Ok, question.

How come Fred never ever ever acknowledges that Mexico has a border fence on its southern border? If Mexico is now the definition of well adjusted workers paradise, inclusive towards all, so friendly and inviting, how come it protects its nation from outside intruders? How come its not easy to become a Mexican citizen compared to becoming a US citizen? What’s up with that?

Also, if Mexico has greatly improved its cost of living, national IQ among workers, etc. how come they aren’t sending the US these greatly improved people? Why are they keeping their best and brightest for themselves? And, doesn’t that help make the point that Mexico isn’t sending the US their best and brightest but rather they are staying at home to help contribute to a better Mexican future?

And if that’s true, then why exactly does the US have to take in the refuse of Mexico? Let Honduras, Guatemala or El Salvador have them.

    “Correlation is not causation.”

Wrong. Now you get taken behind the ol’ woodshed for your misunderstanding of science for a bit of an intellectual spanking.

The shortest true statement that can be made about causality and correlation is one of the following: (a) “Empirically observed covariation is a necessary but not sufficient condition for causality.” (b) “Correlation is not causation but it sure is a hint.”

    wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation

Next time, use the shortest true statement. No more lying by omission!

I don’t get how keeping Mexicans out means the end of the US? Same as I didn’t get what BLS meant when she said that if they didn’t allow millions of Muslims in, Europe would not survive.

The biggest thing I don’t get is how someone like Fred Reed, who claims to be something of a “libertarian,” thinks it’s a good thing to allow millions upon millions of future socialist Democrat voters in to America? The last thing 90% of those Mexicans are going to ever do in the next 100 years is vote Libertarian. Well, except for the open borders part. And the legally pimp out your 12 year old sister part. But besides that, no.
