One often sees the silly assertion by right-wing extremists that feminists, social justice warriors, and other “cranks” are enstupidating American education. The purpose, according to these fascists, who are just like Hitler, is “to make historically incompetent groups look competent.” The racism in these absurd claims is obvious. In particular such Neo-Nazis say that mathematical education is being destroyed to benefit “retards.” This “dumbing down,” they say, will hand the future to China.

This is conservative drivel. Nothing suggests that China is gaining on the US in science and technology, except the evidence, and this can be ignored. It is particularly important to keep in mind that the Chinese cannot innovate, only copy American technology.

Harvard-MIT Math Tournament Ordinary American kids, the best mathematicians in two of America’s best universities. Asia cannot match this.

Harvard-MIT Math Tournament Ordinary American kids, the best mathematicians in two of America’s best

Face it: America’s young are the brightest in the world and attend the most advanced schools in the United States, the country that everybody wants to be like and live in. These youngsters will maintain American scientific preeminence through the strength of diversity. Anyone who doubts this can note that the Harvard-MIT math wizards are almost one hundred percent diverse. The Chinese cannot keep up with this degree of talent. Especially since they cannot innovate.

I hate to use this phrase, but it fits–conservative lunatics overvalue elitist subjects pervaded by racism and sexism, such as engineering, math, and information technology. Theirs is a narrow view, and does not recognize the value of human elements, such as safe spaces. Experts acknowledge that American safe spaces are safer than Chinese safe spaces. In fact some indications suggest that Chinese universities do not even have safe spaces, so you can imagine how dangerous they are.

With minds like those above on our side, America has nothing to fear from a pack of funny-looking Asiatics who can’t innovate. All several billion of them.

Crispr bombshell: Chinese researcher claims to have created gene-edited twins.

While alarmists point to this as evidence of Chinese capacity in advanced research, it is in fact evidence of their inferiority. Crispr (Clustered Regularly Intersperse Palindromc Repeats) was invented by a pair of Western women. Consequently anything the Chinese do with it is derivative and not to be taken seriously. Sure, a fundamentally primitive country can get lucky. There is nothing to worry about.

China Shatters “Spooky Action at a Distance” Record, Preps for Quantum Internet

“In a landmark study, a team of Chinese scientists using an experimental satellite has tested quantum entanglement over unprecedented distances, beaming entangled pairs of photons to three ground stations across China—each separated by more than 1,200 kilometers.”

This is just an example of China’s outmoded male linear thinking, obviously sexist and probably transphobic. While the Chinese focus on tour de force gimmicks, American universities never lose sight of their primary task of getting rid of Confederate statues. These offend students who can’t spell “Confederacy.” The inability of American students to do eighth-grade algebra is probably a result of these statues: China, with no Confederate statues at all, does well mathematically. Anyway, mathematics is elitist and should be replaced by cooperative games led by a caring adult.

There is good news for those interested in social justice: American universities are de-emphasizing mathematics in fields like astronomy to encourage the entrance of women and people of color into the hard sciences. This policy is clearly necessary for social justice. The need is made obvious by the lack of students of color in the photographs above. The result will be a flood of black, Hispanic, and female scientists who, by sheer numbers, will overcome a lack of talent. They will overwhelm their Chinese competition through socially progressive inclusiveness.

The Chinese, notoriously racists and sexists, cannot achieve this democratization as they admit only the “brightest” students through biased IQ tests. By contrast, America is unleashing the power of its morons.

Chinese Researchers Achieve Stunning Quantum-Entanglement Record

“Scientists have just packed 18 qubits—the most basic units of quantum computing—into just six weirdly connected photons. That’s an unprecedented three qubits per photon, and a record for the number of qubits linked to one another via quantum entanglement.”

It is fortunate for the United States that the Chinese cannot innovate. Anyway, quantum computing is just a fad. Yes, they can manufacture washing machines and even assemble iPhones with white supervision, but the squinty-eyed little bastards cannot invent things. They steal all their technology which invariably originates in the West. Cars, airplanes, and computers were all invented by white Europeans. Asians can make little paper umbrellas for expensive drinks but nothing more challenging.

More evidence of the superiority of Americans: The 2016 World Champion Math Olympiad Team–Ankan Bhattacharya, Allen Liu, Ashwin Sah, Michael Kural, Yuan Yao, Junyao Peng, and coach Po-Shen
More evidence of the superiority of Americans: The 2016 World Champion Math Olympiad Team–Ankan Bhattacharya, Allen Liu, Ashwin Sah, Michael Kural, Yuan Yao, Junyao Peng, and coach Po-Shen

Despite right-wing alarms, America’s lead in the sciences is not in peril. In both 2016 and 2018, the United States, not China, won the world championship. As inclusiveness increases in American universities, with admission of anything arguably a primate, and more women and minorities of color go into mathematical fields, US superiority will increase.

China Drives International Patent Applications to Record Heights; Demand Rising for Trademark and Industrial Design

“China moved into the second position as a source of international patent applications filed via WIPO in 2017, closing in on long-time leader United States of America, in another record year in the use of WIPO’s intellectual property services for patents, trademarks and industrial designs.”

This is nothing to worry about. These patents must be of low quality, since the Chinese can’t invent anything, and were probably stolen in the first place. American education is far ahead in all fields of importance, especially its policies regarding transgender bathrooms, which in the course of things will be more important than definite integrals, whatever those are.

China is developing a new laser satellite meant to hunt down submarines more than 1,600 feet underwater

Trivial. We already know where our submarines are . We don’t need lasers to find them.

Huawei introduces world’s first 5G-ready 7nm mobile chipset, Kirin 980

ORDER IT NOW

“Chinese Huawei on Friday unveiled the world’s first “ solution-ready” commercial 7nm (nanometre) chipset Kirin 980 which is believed to be the most powerful smartphone SoC (system-on-a-chip) equipped with Artificial Intelligence(AI) capabilities.” The chipset will be manufactured by TSMC, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, making it an all-Chinese show.

Here is more reason for thinking that China is behind the West. It can make only little tiny seven-namometer–well, whatever those things are. But you can bet America can make much bigger ones.

China is working on a fleet of drone submarines to launch a new era of sea power

“China is developing large, smart and relatively low-cost unmanned submarines that can roam the world’s oceans to perform a wide range of missions, from reconnaissance to mine placement to even suicide attacks against enemy vessels, according to scientists involved in these artificial intelligence (AI) projects.”

The obsession with those torpedo thingies, obviously phallic symbols, is so…male. But enough said. The position of America, exceptional, indispensable, is secure and will remain so for centuries to come.

  1. Fred! I can’t tell where the sarcasm starts and ends, dude. OK, so paragraph 1 is sarcasm, but because you hate everyone (besides Mexicans), I had thought you were bad-mouthing the right-wing extremists again (you know, because they want to actually get off their asses and change things). That threw me for a loop, thinking para 1 was serious.

Damn, I hate to say this cause I don’t wanna sound like no retard, but can you use some tags next time?

OK, anyway, I’ll go on my first assumption, as I think I will then proceed to agree with most of this column. You are right in your overall point, I can see right away, in that China is a serious country and the present America is most-certainly not.

    PEAK STUPIDITY, BITCHEZ!

See, this is what I mean. Did you turn off the sarc mode for this one sentence?*

I’d always thought the drug cartels would be the first to make good use of unmanned submarines. Maybe they have, if they’re that good.(??)

Anyway, I like the basic point here, Mr. Reed, but you have that same arrogant attitude as usual in badmouthing everything “America”. There are plenty of bright Americans trying to do science and engineering in the midst of this massive stupidity. Yet, when American individuals or groups try to speak truth or actually DO SOMETHING about the feminism, gender-bender nonsense, immigration stupidity, University SJW’s, Big-Ed, Media stupidity, etc, Fred Reed is the first to tear them all a new one in one of his columns.

    * OK, don’t go bringing up The Man who Loved China about the guy who reckoned every last thing had been invented in China.

  5. anon[194] • Disclaimer says:

China will completely dominate and destroy the West. All the emerging evidence proves this. Chinese are smart, ethnocentric, nationalist, unified, not cursed with diversity (and not inclined to curse themselves with it), strategically located (despite the common misconception of the USA being strategically located – these oceans will soon become bars on a prison cell), free of white extremist idiocy (SJWs), free of dogmatic economic tribalism (libertarianism and other kooky ideologies), free of most religious self-hating extremists who import immigrants (Catholics, Jews, and Southern Baptists), politically freer than people think, free from the kinds of callout mobs that characterize Twitter, and they have a government that puts the interests of the nation state ahead of the economic elite.

China has a border and she protects it. China has a culture she doesn’t piss away on globalism. China invests in scientific accomplishment and just landed on the dark side of the moon. The USA can’t even build a replacement for the shuttle. And what science does now occur in the West is best done in Europe (see the LHC). The US could have had an even larger and more powerful particle accelerator back in the 90s but some idiot congressman turned it down. Pathetic lack of vision.

An important question at this point is how could people not see this occurrence decades ago? I did. Even here on this site guys would often repeat BS stereotypes about Asians and creativity, free trade, and perpetuated the myth that Japan’s failure to “rise” proved that China would meet the same fate (missed observation: “gee, do you think that having nearly 10x the population might lead to a different outcome this time?”), etc. Any day now they said China was going to collapse and ‘Murica would rule the world forever; who needs things like industry when we’ve got tax cuts for the rich? Please. There’s even a popular YouTuber who predicted that Japan, not China, would rule Asia – hilariously wrong considering population size differences. The rise of China and my correct predictions of this event as far back as the early and mid 90s should prove beyond doubt that democracy does not work and only a few are truly capable of running society. Pat Buchanan called this, too. He wrote books about this back in the 90s. How in the hell can stupid people not ever see the writing on the wall before it’s too late and why are they allowed to vote? Clearly, this is not a problem for some of us…and some nations.

The USA is an embarrassingly fake nation with a corrupt, inept ruling class and a lazy, uneducated population easily deceived into supporting stupid causes that only end up harming themselves and others. Take the government shutdown for instance. What are republicans doing right now? They are busy making themselves look like complete fools by attacking food stamp recipients, many of whom are white republicans. Way to lose an election next cycle morons. The amount of money wasted on that program pales in comparison to the money spent elsewhere, and many of those on food stamps wouldn’t be on them if the government had focused on wage growth instead of exporting our industries and mass importing low wage labor competition!!!!

  8. Jason Liu says:

Humanities and soft sciences are important for a country, just not when run by freaks and losers.

In fact China’s social problems and diplomatic blunders are often due to the lack of cultural aptitude and social skills. Many Chinese don’t even know what these things are, or why they’re important. This is how you get guys who think money is everything, can’t handle any disagreement, offends everyone in the room, and doesn’t know why people hate him.

That being said, the humanities as interpreted by SJWs is clearly retarded and needs to be contained, if not eliminated in the west. China should not adopt the diseases of western academia, but rather counter it with an academic culture based on realism and nationalism. That is how we can influence the world for the better.

You know, I thought about it myself. Actually a long while ago I heard someone somewhere mulling over the fact that all weapons resemble d*cks. From rifles, to submarines, to noses of planes – they all look like d*cks. I think that there is some major psychopathology at play here.

I also think that the solution to ending all wars is obvious. They should start designing weapons that look like vaginas. There is no way that anyone can feel masculine enough to attack another human being with a weapon shaped like a vagina. As John Lennon would have said: War is over if you want it.

  17. Alfa158 says:

Oh yeah, well; surely those whiz-kids pictured from the Math Olympiad must have been exposed to CGI (Confederate General Images) all their lives since, as we all know, most movies today are chock-full of CGI. And yet they are still really, really smart!
How do you explain that, Mister South-of-the-Border-Know-It-All!? I think I got you there!

  18. MarkinLA says:

Most of this means surprisingly little. We are long since past the era where one country would go to war with another preemptively to keep from being passed militarily. So China becomes a bigger player on the world scene? China can’t and won’t “own” anybody. Europe, Russia, and the US can exist on their own without China. There will be a reshuffling, but it just means countries will start having to place more emphasis of what is good for their own citizens instead of listening to stupid theories (like globalization) from academia.

  24. Reed seems to operate under the considerable delusion that Americans are fiercely interested in running the planet. Maybe this is so for a few — John Bolton comes to mind — but not for most of us. Of course, this delusion allows him to set up his strawman. “You think you can run things, Yanqui? Ha! Look at these whiz kids from China!” Who cares. They can’t eat a Blizzard at Dairy Queen without shitting in their pants.

As William Vaile said of America in 1924:

“It is a good country. It suits us…we are not going to surrender it to somebody else or allow other people, no matter what their merits, to make it something different.” He doesn’t argue for U.S. superiority, he argues for preserving what we have. That is the challenge going forward, and we may be losing. But Reed, with his frequent defenses of Mexican hoodrats, has nothing useful to say on that front.

It is a privilege to see a sophisticated Confuse and Conquer Jew like Ron Unz singlehandedly tie up hundreds if not thousands of White Trashionalists at once. His strategy is particularly elegant when one observes the progression of Ron’s articles over the years (such as this one from seven years ago).

Step 1 : Make a website that WNs use (since they can never build anything on their own). Let any and all anti-Semitic slurs stand on the website to make WNs complacent and even keyboard-courageous.
Step 2 : Recruit the 2-3 intelligent authors that WNs read (Sailer, Derbyshire, etc.) who happen to bad at making money, so that they write for very little renumeration.
Step 3 : After a few years, start pushing for normalization of Hispanics (even if illegal; especially if illegal).
Step 4 : Deploy someone like Fred Reed to generate even more confusion, such as with this article.

It works…and it is a lesson in asymmetrical attrition warfare by a sophisticated Confuse and Conquer Jew. Remember, he got handed an unprestigious assignment from Jewish central command. Harvey Weinstein got to have sex with the prettiest actresses for 30 years, George Soros gets to be a billionaire, etc. But someone has to do the less glamorous work, and Runzie Baby is equal to the task.

Ron Unz has said about 95% of this site disputes the fact that the real division is black vs non-black. I am among the 5% that agree with him (although I am more conservative than him, since I think there should be only skilled, legal immigration, not unskilled and certainly never illegal).

Now, here is the thing. Those who talk about Auschwitz, lampshades, and soap never get moderated here, but those who agree with Ron Unz do. He will even get angry with those who agree with him too vocally, even as any and all anti-Israel content is fully welcome.

    Why?

It is because he thinks it will expose his game of 4D chess from the perception of a 70-IQ WN. But I guarantee that it cannot, since the typical White Trashionalist is far below the IQ threshold where they can observe the many pieces in motion. I can describe Ron’s plan in full detail (and I fully support it), without any risk of the WNs figuring out that they are the frog and the temperature is already up to about 160 degrees F.

I am strongly in favor of what Ron Unz is doing. His recent ‘An Open Letter….’ article was a trial balloon through which he tested the speed at which the temperature can be increased under the immerse-in-water frog. I look forward to seeing him go for the kill (i.e. 212 degrees F) by around 2020 or so.

Honestly, if China could somehow provoke Trump into declaring some 21st Century to the Space Race (my personal fantasy lately has been mass building of nuclear plants), that’d probably be great. National competition doesn’t need to be a bad thing. As long as you put parameters on to prevent that competition from spilling over into war-starting material, it spurs nations to improve and make the world better.

China differs from the USA and Russia in a fundamental way that nobody here is getting: China isn’t interested in serving as a global, universalistic light for everybody. The USA and Russia (this predated the USSR: Dostoevsky is a good primer if you want to learn more) have messianic streaks embedded deep in their respective national psychologies. China doesn’t. It never has. It is the Middle Kingdom, whom foreigners come to pay respects rather than exporting its traditions outside its sphere.

This doesn’t mean that China isn’t interested in expanding their influence and power, like any other nation. But outside of direct Chinese national interests, they aren’t terribly concerned with what the barbarians do with their own cultures and affairs. More indifferent than anything.

Pretty funny that in old China before the communists, all our “grand masters” were of the “soft science”, STEM personnels virtually non-existent.

So, to solve the problem, a slogan was designed to encourage students to study STEM, which everybody can still recite today – 学好数理化, 走遍天下都不怕 (good at mathematics, physics and chemistry, you’ll have no worries anywhere in the world).

However, things have started to change lately, an attempt to skew towards non-STEM, which spark criticism on Internet forums. Some suspect it’s because the traitors trying to destroy our future technology capabilities, but some said it’s simply policy making positions in the government and media have been monopolize by non-STEM personnels, they naturally want to twist the education system in favor of their non-STEM field.

Anyway, China is catching up in the “diversity” department too. Minorities in China also get affirmative action. They get added points or outright quotas for university admission, so does rural and less developed regions for some best universities.

Actually, I find lots of things not much difference between China and USA. Just as White Supremacy is a big No-No in the US, so does Han Supremacy in China.

The biggest difference, in my opinion, is that – in China, capital kow-tow to government; in USA, government kow-tow to capital.

I work in a government department too. The only issue I have with Asians working under me is that sometimes their English language skills are bad. Since we interact with customers, I sometimes have to step in and intervene when the customers can’t understand them and vice versa. I would rather it be me being patient and spending time figuring out what my Asian employees are saying rather than forcing the customers to spend time doing that. Hiring native born whites who are fluent in English would be better but diversity quotas limit how many of those can be hired. People who advocate helping working class whites should focus on ending affirmative action type programs which are preventing working class whites from getting more jobs. If no customer verbal interaction was involved, I could see Asians having little downside as employees. Southern Asians like Indians, though, can sometimes have some of the same problems as black employees such as laziness, dishonesty, surliness and so on.

Four decades ago in college, some of my friends were studying Chinese (as far as I know, there was one foreign Chinese student on campus who was conspicuous, always dressed in her little Mao jacket.) I had the opinion that they were wasting their time. First, besides being a very difficult language to learn, they would never get a chance to use their Chinese fruitfully because China was hopelessly mired in poverty and always would be. Boy, was I wrong. I’m happy for the Chinese, though. I am glad that they are becoming wealthy. Won’t mind if they leave us in the dust, economically. We can learn a few things from the Chines, starting with the prime directive: learn how to be a nation again.

Indonesia and Thailand have large Chinese diasporas, but those Chinese diasporas don’t seem to be doing a lot to raise the living standard of the average Thai or Indonesian. The US has lots of smart Jews and Asians, but they aren’t doing much to improve the economic situation in the American rust belt.

While four of those surnames are mainland Chinese (though Lin can also be Taiwan), only one in that photo is a kid of Chinese immigrants. That was actually a rather bad year for ethnic Chinese in terms of making the US IMO team lol.

Interestingly, I’ve talked a lot with one of the kids in that photo, the one who is an American Jew. He is rather distasteful of China and of its political system especially. He thinks Chinese-Americans are way better than mainland Chinese. He has an “America’s just too good” attitude. I personally think he is quite politically delusional. That tends to apply though to many very academically talented Jews raised in the US based on my experience.

Chinese are quite strong at olympiad math. Probably like 60-80%, maybe even more, of the top IMO placers in the recent years have been East Asian, and most of them are Chinese. Even Hong Kong and Singapore do quite well. I did modestly well at math contests myself too, and I know some IMO medalists pretty well. I don’t think that highly of olympiad math though, for the reason that it’s very narrow and not really real math. It’s more like an intellectual game. To be honest, I know some top math contest placers or close who I don’t think are that intellectually gifted holistically, and it seems it was more that they are quite naturally good and/or trained much on the olympiad math side.

  86. You know, I thought about it myself. Actually a long while ago I heard someone somewhere mulling over the fact that all weapons resemble d*cks. From rifles, to submarines, to noses of planes – they all look like d*cks. I think that there is some major psychopathology at play here.

Please pardon me if you were being completely facetious here; you probably were, and I’m just a bit tone-deaf this morning. But just in case you’re serious, allow me to suggest that weapon shapes are functional. Things that need to move fast against the viscous flow resistance of air, or water, will tend to have a rounded (or pointed) leading shape, with whatever remains structure hiding behind that nose so as not to add more than necessary to the frontal cross-section. And guns, from pistols to rifles to artillery, are tubes, in order to direct the motion of that which they emit, and to contain the propellant pressure behind the projectile.

A dick has a similar shape, because it conducts a fluid flow and thus has the cylindrical character of any pipe. And its rounded front end makes its use more comfortable and pleasant for both the woman and the man involved.

These designs are persistent because they are based soundly on functional requirements. And I’m sure that when Dick 2.0 evolves, it will add a vibrating function, and perhaps Raised Ribs For Her Pleasure, don’tcha see.

Lol, my Harvard PhD student friend from China this weekend said that many mainland Chinese dislike America, Europe, and Japan, but they especially dislike places that are 鼠目寸光 (The eyes of a rat can see only an inch of light) like South Korea and Taiwan. He spoke of how certain economic behaviors of South Korea in the category of price manipulation much displeased mainland Chinese. As for South Korea being an ass-kicker of America, it’s something that pretty much everybody in China already knows and needs not be mentioned. The South Korean army got beat up pretty badly by the Chinese army, which even captured Seoul for a while in January 1951. Ultimately, that South Korean regime needed America again to save its ass. So it’s very hard for Chinese to not sort of view South Korea with contempt.

  94. These Crazies Are Just Like Hitler

Oh, they are, are they? You mean they’re anti-Bolshie?

Hint to Fwed.: Get with the program; you seem to be a bit slow on the uptake…

… Taylor [says] Germany and Hitler were not uniquely guilty of launching World War II (indeed they were scarcely guilty at all); Hitler was not bent on world conquest…Hitler, in brief, (in foreign affairs) was not a uniquely evil monster or daimon, who would continue to gobble up countries diabolically until stopped by superior force. Hitler was a rational German statesman, pursuing — with considerable intuitive insight — a traditional, post-Versailles German policy (to which we might add intimations of desires to expand eastward in an attack on Bolshevism). …he was a German intent, like all Germans, on revising the intolerable and stupid Versailles-diktat, and on doing so by peaceful means, and in collaboration with the British and French. One thing is sure: Hitler had no designs, no plans, not even vague intimations, to expand westward against Britain and France (let alone the United States). Hitler admired the British Empire and wished to collaborate with it. Not only did Hitler do this with insight, he did it with patience, as Taylor excellently shows; the legend (that perhaps all of us have accepted in one degree or another), is that Hitler annoyingly created one European crisis after another, in the late 1930s, proceeding hungrily onward from one victory to another; actually, the crises naturally arose, were developed from external conditions (largely from the breakup of the inherently unstable conditions imposed by the Versailles-diktat), and by others, and which Hitler patiently awaited the outcome to use to his and Germany’s advantage.

… the Germans were morally right…

The answers are simple. Block most immigration, have a good system of education. Indians (dot not feather) generally (OK) have a grossly exaggerated self-evaluation, to undeserved arrogance, because of caste and/or victimology. If a job requires a standard test, they will cheat by sharing the info.

Most are mediocre at best. Of course, some great rote-learners, and their space, missile, and bomb programmes, plus the occasional mathematical genius, shows they are not all like that.

I was also having Indian school friends at one time, they were nice people and not stupid.

Those, however, entering your nation under the H1B, or whatever it is called, immigration class are hacks, easily outmatched by people I have known on the ‘net in what is called ‘flyover country’, and the latter are lucky to get a dull job in a shop, the occasional assignment to set up a minor site or fix a system.

You really have a bad system there, so at least think about doing something about it.

    1. Almost no immigration, no birthright joke (the only places that are having it are Canada and the U.S.A.), and chain migration strictly restricted to one degree of separation, no more ‘my mother, then my mother’s father … my father’s cousin twice removed.’

    2. Eliminate nonsensical non-education, and the ignorati that promote it.

    That would be a start.

Most may never consider, though the unconscious knows, that their dicks are shorter and have less girth, and don’t work as nature intended, because their parents were stupid and gave up their two day old boys to some crazed money grubbing doctor to take away some of his manhood.

Even though Asian governments has far more control of their public schooling systems, they have not deteriorated in quality in a manner similar to its American counterpart. The reason isn’t because of the presence of “under-performing minorities.” The reason is because Asian governments have not tampered with the classical education model built up over millennia, unlike their Western counterparts.

That the place is still standing is strange, I am sure that the cruel American bombers must have had it on their exclusion list. 127. Anon[384] • Disclaimer says:

But look at the Asian-American dork boy. He may get good grades and attend elite colleges, but the guy has zero sexual market value. He has low MasQ or Masculine Quotient.

It’s very likely that Homo Asian males, unlike straight Asian males, have high ‘sexual’ market value. So, the divergence of globo-sexual market value isn’t only between Asian males and Asian females. It could also be between Homo Asian males and straight Asian males. Now, it’s well known that Asian females have high globo-sexual market value, whereas Asian men may have the lowest(though perhaps higher than that of short indigenous brown peoples of Latin America, but they too are Asiatic in origin). So, we tend to think of Asian women as winners and Asian men as losers. (But then, when women of the race are winners over the men, the race loses as a whole because it means that the women-with-sexual-market-value seek out men of OTHER races who have higher sexual market value. When Asian women in the West go with non-Asian men, it’s Asian-ness sexually submitting to the more dominant sexuality and identity of non-Asian races. Notice that just about every successful and/or famous Asian female goes with non-Asian male.)

But the dichotomy isn’t merely between Asian males and Asian females because Asian homo males have far higher ‘sexual’ market value than straight Asian males. Straight Asian males have to depend on masculinity to attract women(of their own race or any other). But, Asian straight males are seen as having the lowest MasQ due to generally being shorter, less muscular, stockier, and having smaller genitals. If white males lose out in the Dong Factor to blacks, Asian males lose out to whites and blacks.
There is also the matter of aesthetics. Even Asians in Asia prefer the Western Look even though the media there are controlled by Asians. Japanese anime feature white-looking-characters as fantasy Japanese. Chinese women do everything to look more Western. And it’s very easy for white men to find sexual mates in China because Chinese girls prefer white over yellow. And South Korea may be the champion in yellow-Michael-Jacksonism, what with 1/4 of people there having had plastic surgery. And they even dye their hair blonde and dream of coming to America and having kids with white men(or even black men). So, Asian males lose out aesthetically as well. Many Asians find themselves to be ugly and are trans-racial in their fantasy of looking ‘more white’ or having white-looking babies. Going with whites and producing whiter-looking babies is regarded as rising up the racial ladder. Just like lower class seek to move to middle class AND middle class aspire to move up to upper class, Asian race hopes to move up to the White race by plastic surgery/hair-dyeing or by race-mixing with the more desirable races. Notice that so many Asians prefer to permanently emigrate from their own peoples, cultures, and homelands to come to white-majority nations to be approved and accepted by whites. (Granted, this is more complicated due to PC and Afromania. PC tells all non-white immigrants to hate whitey, and yellow dogs like Sarah Jeong dutifully bark at Evil Whitey the behest of their Jewish masters for doggy biscuits. But the fact is they came to nations like the US, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada to be with white-majority populations. Asians don’t want to move to non-white majority nations. So, even as Asians love whitey on the visceral level, they hate whitey on the ideological level because Asians are such servile dogs of the official dogma, which is anti-white PC in the Jew-run West. And there is also the factor of Afromania. Even though white aesthetics is still much prized — many women still prefer white males uber alles, and most successful non-white and Jewish men desire white women, esp ‘Aryan’-looking blondes — , black domination of sports and sexualized pop music/culture has led to the globo-masses worshiping blacks as the defacto superior race of jocks, studs, and badass gangstaz. This is why we see so many pathetic yellow dork boys desperately imitating blackness to appear cool and badass when, if anything, the sheer discrepancy between their yellow dorkery and imitation-blackness just makes them look laughable like clowns.)

Anyway, the reason why homo Asian males have the advantage over straight Asian males is similar to why Asian females have the advantage over Asian males. Asian females don’t need the MasQ or Masculine Quotient. If anything, they are higher in Feminine Quotient or FemQ than women of other races. So, even though white female aesthetics are still preferred over Asian female aesthetics, men of all races feel attraction to Asian females because yellow women are seen as more feminine and easier to ‘dominate’. Men, even ‘pozzed liberal’ ones, still want to feel like a MAN in the company of women. Even white beta-male dorks who feel they can’t impress white girls(who are now into jungle fever) feel that they might have a better chance impressing yellow girls because yellow boys are even dorkier than white boys. Also, especially because black male dominance has so emasculated and wussified white males(who notice that more and more white girls got jungle fever and go with black men), these white males seek to regain manhood by taking yellow women. They compensate their loss of manhood to black men by gaining manhood points from yellow men. White Guys can play the role of ‘white negro’ in relation to yellow boys.

What do Asian homo males have in common with Asian females? And how does this advantage them in the ‘sexual’ marketplace? Unlike straight Asian males, homo Asian males can play the ‘bitch’ or the ‘pussy-boy’. They can prance around, twiddle their fingers, talk girly with a lisp, and flutter their eyes in pinky-wink fashion. Whereas straight male Asians only have their penises to rely on — a disadvantage because black dong > white dong > yellow dong — for sexual success, Asian homo males can rely on the bungholes as ersatz homo-pooters. So, while many females may pass on the yellow dong as insufficiently large for their liking, homo men of all races may be more than happy to bugger the ‘tight’ yellow homo bung as bitch-homo-pussy. Granted, Asian homo males will be favored mainly by macho-homos who want a submissive homo-bitch(like the top-thug in ROAD WARRIOR has a ‘gay-bitch’ sidekick).

Homos like Milo Yiannopoulos won’t be much interested in Asian homos because they want to play the role of lushy-wushy ‘bitch’ in the equation. So, Milo(like Andrew Sullivan) prefers black guys with big dongs to fill up his Greco-Judeo-Homo bung. It seems like Homos come mainly in two kinds: Tough Homo and Tooty Homo. Tough Homos want to dominate and ram their dongs into ‘gay bitches’, whereas Tooty-Homos want to be treated like a ‘bitch’ and, more often than, not want to be buggered by the dominant macho homo or Machomo. And Asian homo males probably have great success as tooty-homos or ‘gay bitches’ to white men and black men. Because they rely on submission and the hole-factor(with their bungholes serving as equivalent of the yellow vagina) than stick-factor, their success in the ‘sexual’ marketplace may be comparable to that of Asian females. They merely need to bend over and offer their bungs to men of other races.

And this may be the reason for the Rise of the Herbivore Man in Japan and K-Pop-Gay-Pop Boy in South Korea. Especially as the Internet has globalized the youths of Japan and South Korea(in ways that was not possible for earlier generations of men there), both Asian boys and girls grew up connected to winner-takes-all globalist media where black males dominate sports/song and white males dominate popularity but where Asian males are all but invisible. (Localism allows whites to win in white lands, yellows to win in yellow lands, browns to win in brown lands. Each people have local heroes, like the Ancient Greek Olympics were about Greek heroes for Greek peoples. But globalism chooses one set of winners for all the globe. As blacks can beat all in sports, they are the only ones who matter in globo-sports-manhood, which is why even Chinese boys grow up worshiping black NBA stars, why South Korea imports African sprinters to run as ‘New Koreans’, and why Japanese sports are being taken over by mulatto kids of Japanese women and black men. One look at the French Soccer Team, and black manhood is now the only thing that matters in France and much of Europe. In UK media, black males are used as idols of manhood while white men are now usually featured as dorks or cucks.) Asian males are still everywhere in Asian media, but Asian Media is NOT globalist media as most people around the world have no interest in Asian TV, Asian Movies, Asian sports, or Asian pop music. The ONLY Asian pop culture that became global is Anime, but it’s about yellow fantasy of being White. Prior to the internet, most Asian boys and girls would have known mostly Asian culture. But via the internet, they can see the whole world, and they realize that while Asian women got global market value, Asian men do not. The psycho-social effect of this is what? Asian males realize that Asianness-as-femininity has value but Asianness-as-masculinity has no value. So, the ONLY way Asian males can gain global currency is by becoming feminized themselves. Japanese herbivore men are like effete eunuchs. Those soyboys might as well lose their penises and take of plastic vaginas.

    https://www.businessinsider.com/herbivore-men-in-japan-are-not-having-sex-8-15

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uOTVo-VNiNc

And K-pop boys are essentially gay-pop boys. Even straight boys in K-Pop are so gayish and girlish, but then K-pop fashion and choreography are designed by globo-homo Asian men who’ve been rammed in the ass by white and black guys. THAT is the premier expression of South Korean culture these days: Fantasies of yellow boys as girly men devised and dressed up by yellow homos who play ‘bitch’ to men of other races. But then, it’s rather fitting as it’s hard to think of a bigger ‘bitch’ nation on Earth. Even with an economy 40 times and population twice that of North Korea, the cowards and wussies of South Korea hide behind US power to protect them from Monster Kim. An infantilized and wussified nation, a land where the older generation are mindless dogs of Pentagon and the younger generation are mindless monkeys of Western globo-homo PC.

But if any Asian nation pioneered the Triumph of the Girly Men as THE REPRESENTATIVE MEN OF ASIA, it is Thailand, which should be called Thigh-Land, with a capital that aptly sounds like ‘Bang-Cock’ to Western ears. All Asian nations have been known as the Vaginas to the world, or Asian Beavers. In sexual terms, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Hong Kong, Vietnam, and etc. have all been discussed in the West(and globosphere) as where men should go for the women. The idea is that yellow women are easy to get in places in Philippines and Vietnam because they’re poor and you can get a lot of bang for the buck. But even in richer nations like Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, the idea is that the yellow women are so dissatisfied with their loser-men that they see foreign men as white-knights(or even black-pirates) who will liberate yellow women from being chained to loser yellow men. Such has been a universal trope for Asian nations.
This was also true of Thailand, of course, where prostitution wasn’t only a big part of the economy but state-sanctioned as well. But Thailand was big for something else: the Lady Boy. And variants of this lady-boy-ism seems to have spread to other parts of Asia because Asia is becoming globalized, and that means Asian boys and Asian girls grow up with the realization that Asian masculinity has zero market value whereas Asian femininity has high market value. When Japan was a closed-off nation, its men didn’t need to compete with other men of the world. Even short yellow runts could feel like king of the hill, the masters of their own nation. And Japanese women only had access to Japanese men, the only men they knew. But as the TV mini-series SHOGUN showed, when Japanese women gain access to taller gaijin, they go ga-ga and lose all interest in runty Japanese men(who are now so ronri and ronri and turning to rovots, aka love-robots while more Japanese women go white or black).

    https://www.sbs.com.au/news/dateline/article/2017/04/11/love-intimacy-and-companionship-tale-robots-japan

There was a time when most people in Asia would have laughed at the Lady Boys phenomenon of Thailand or found it ridiculous. But now, Lady-Boyism is becoming the dominant mode of maleness in Asian. The signals that Asian boys receive from the globo-homo command central is, “Yellow girls or yellow femininity got worth, but yellow boys or yellow masculinity got no worth. So, if yellow boys want worth, they must be more like yellow girls because Asian worth is only with femininity.” The other reason for spread of Lady-Boy-ism through much of Asia is because many of the Asian elites are educated in the West that pushes Jewish-dominated Homomaniacal propaganda. Because the servile Asian Mind is incapable of asking questions and tends to submit to the Prevailing Dogma, so many Western-educated or Western-influenced Asian elites in media and academia have spread globo-homo propaganda in their own nations. Another reason is that Asian elites, like globalist elites all over the world, no longer identify and connect with their own national folks. Their main identification and status-obsession are about being accepted into the globo-homo Davos world, and they are eager to conform to ANY set of ‘most evolved values’ to be accepted. Needless to say, globo-homos value are essentially about worshiping Judeos, Negroes, and Homos.

Anyway, it’s not difficult to understand why Asian homo males now have such cultural currency in all of Asia(minus China and North Korea that aren’t, as yet, part of globo-homo imperium). In Asian nations where globalism reigns supreme, those Asians who possess globo-worth have more prestige than those without. Asian women and Asian homo males are gaining fast in power, prestige, and privilege because they have globo-worth. Yellow women are much sought after by men of all races. And yellow homo males are popular as ‘gay bitches’ to rich & powerful homos all around the world. So, both groups have popularity points in the globalist marketplaces. But Asian males have no value because their MasQ is so low. Because Asian femininity and homosexuality have more globo-worth, even straight Asian men(who can’t score any points due to their inferior masculinity) are jumping on the bandwagon of femininity or metro-sexual homo-fashions to score some points. That must be why 10% of young S. Korean men now use cosmetics in imitation of K-Pop Gay-Pop pussy-boys who can hardly be distinguished from Asian female pop-idols.

What this proves is that manhood is relative. Japanese men once felt like tough guys when Japan was isolated from the world. But once Japan was pried open, year after year, decade after decade, and now century after century, Japanese men are losing confidence as males and turning into asexual ‘herbivores’. In contrast, Japanese women, who once used to respect Japanese men, are turning more aggressive and slutty and going with non-Japanese men, esp white and even black. And we see the same pattern in South Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

Now, while white manhood faces NO THREAT from Asian males, it faces existential and sexistential threat from black men who are more muscular, thicker-voiced, and have larger genitals. It is all the more dire for white males because Jews control the Western Media and are hellbent on breaking the spine of white manhood because Jewish Power finds pathetic cucks like Paul Ryan, John Bolton, Joe Biden, and Gavin Newsom far more useful as obedient running dogs. What better way to destroy white manhood than by castrating it? And what better way to castrate white manhood than by making the white boy submit to the black man as the Superior Male who deserves to have white women as his trophies? Of course, if the top white males cucks go along with the Jewish Supremacist program, they are handsomely rewarded with vaunted positions(as puppets) and lots of cash prizes.

A people are finished when the men have effectively been stripped of manhood. It’s like taking stripes away from a military officer. Jews used Feminism and Black Machismo to strip white men of manhood. Feminism in America is essentially a Jewish tool to brainwash white women into hating white men as their worst enemies and oppressors. Thus, white unity of male and female is undermined. But even more effective has been Black Machismo. After all, biology > sociology. No matter how much Jews use feminism to make white women hate white men, the fact is biology still makes many white women attracted to white men as objects of love and devotion. Feminism is ideological sociology used against the biological truth of attraction between white men and white women. But Black Machismo or Jungle Fever is genuinely threatening to white men because it is a case of Biology + Sociology. Biology says women prefer the tougher men over the weaker men. And in schools, streets, and sports, white women see that black men are the REAL MEN while white guys are benchwarmer-losers who get pushed around by tougher black guys. In the past, this biology of jungle fever was counter-balanced by white-dominated sociology that pressured white women to stick with white men. But now, Jews control the tools of sociological messaging, and they promote black-supremacist Jungle Fever far-and-wide to all white girls from the youngest age possible. And while white girls are told there is nothing more wonderful than lusting after black boys, white boys are told that there is nothing nobler for white boys than to be either homo or admiring of homos(and trannies). Manhood is relative, no less for whites than for yellows.

On a more serious note, Chinese, like everybody else, can be bright, stupid, and everything in between. My smartest post-doc was Chinese, as well as one of my dumbest ones.

The key problem in the US is education system. The school functions as a kindergarten, just keeps students supervised and presumably out of trouble most of the day, but it does not teach anything. The philosophy of American education became perverted: the key goal is to make kids feel good about themselves, no matter how dumb and lazy they are. This works as a strong disincentive to learn. Learning is the only way you can exercise your brain, which, just like muscles, withers away without exercise.

I don’t know much about ancient Chinese education system, but modern one is very similar to the Soviet system: your achievements are rewarded, not your feeling good despite total absence thereof. In the USSR there were entrance exams in all universities, so the applicants could be ranked based on objective measures. In the US SAT scores are used instead, and even then the system is massaged to admit those with poor scores to create “diversity” (enough info on massaging was placed on this site, no need to repeat it). Problem is, you can train a monkey to do well on a multiple-choice test like SAT, so either intellectually those with poor scores are below monkeys, or they are so lazy that did not master even test-taking skills. Net result is, the bar is low, but those who happen to be below even that low bar are admitted for PC reasons.

Hence, we have what we have. Getting something better would require a dramatic change in the system. Unfortunately, now even talk about problems in education stopped, let alone real changes to fix those problems. Apparently, the elites want the dumb populace that would readily jump off the cliff, like lemmings, not even being aware that the cliff is ahead. I would believe that it is being done on purpose, but the fact that the US elites are getting just as dumb and clueless does not gibe with this hypothesis.

It is a sad site, very worth a visit, and part is the old top examination site. Strangely intact, and under big trees.

I would agree that the very brief period of the Brits having a meritocratic civil service may have had some influence from China, but in the period of their encounters with China, that was centuries in the past of China, so would posit that it was different. It is an interesting hypothesis and fairy tale, but not valid. The best the Brits did was based on classical (Greek, Roman) models to which anyone with a high-school education was exposed at the time.

Could write thousands of words on it, without much need for reference books. However, the period of meritocracy in the Brit. civil service was very brief, less than a century, and they no longer had an empire by the time (late sixties to early eighties) an unholy alliance of the rich and leftists destroyed any such thing.

Do you want me to expand on my theory about why weapons are shaped like phalluses? Here it is: It’s a conspiracy – by the MIC. They know that most (real) man would rather have sex then go to war and get themselves unnecessarily killed, so they decided to play games with their minds.

By placing weapons shaped like d*cks into their hands , they wanted to create the illusion in their minds that by going to war – there is a promise that after all is over they’ll be able to have sex as much as they want. Either with some hottie from the defeated and conquered nation, or with someone back home, who will be impressed with the returning hero so much that she will – by pure reflex spread her legs.

Now, if on the other hand man were equipped with weapons resembling vaginas – it kind of sends the wrong message. In their minds, the soldiers will see the pointlessness of war, because the things that they should be fighting for – they already have them in their hands, and that as a result of that, they are the ones that are likely to get f*cked – killed and never having a chance to fulfill their secret fantasies which propelled them to go to war in the first place.

“China will completely dominate and destroy the West. All the emerging evidence proves this. Chinese are…” followed by a litany of positive descriptors of the current Chinese government and its people. I agree with most of these descriptors, but I’m unable to see where the motivation to “destroy the West” comes from. Seriously, what statements or actions of the Chinese government have led you to believe that the end goal of the Chinese is the destruction of the West? I have been observing the Chinese and their development for 20 – 30 years, the last 20+ from my perch here in the south of the “renegade province”, the previous 10 from Taipei, and I have learned much about their civilization and culture by reading and studying their great thinkers and politicians. I have spent years interacting with the people of Taiwan, who are informed by Chinese culture, even though politically many of them see themselves as a separate entity. Nothing in my experience or reading leads me to believe that China wants to destroy the West.

Think about it. The first statement destroys your entire argument.

Same in Canada. They keep kids of the 1-5 grades at school from 8:45 a.m. till 3:20 p.m. and basically teach nothing. They even give no home work most of the time and second grade math is basically 2+2. So, we have to take our son to outside math school and home school him. But due to late end of school there is little time for anything else. it is basically glorified day care. If I remember correctly we studied until 12:00 getting knowledge and then we had plenty of time to do our home work and still go out and play. It was balanced. Here the whole system is sick.

Why would China need to destroy the West if the West is busy committing collective suicide, led by pathetic nonentities? The people of the West can save Western civilization only by giving the boot to practically all current “leaders”. Considering general complacency of the people in Europe and the US and their tentative support of current policies of degenerate “elites” towards Russia, China, and other countries that do not toe the insane line of Washington politburo, this does not seem likely.

(i.e. restrict citizenship and the vote to people who were citizens in 1965 + their direct descendants – with everyone else becoming a long term foreign resident).

The thing is, you can’t strip citizenship from anyone who already has it, as they would become ‘stateless’. This is what the ‘strip the citizenship’ and ‘they have to go back’ crowd can’t grasp. The US will never make existing US citizens stateless, nor can it get all the other countries to agree to grant citizenship to people who surrendered it in the past, or their children and grandchildren who never lived in the old country.

An easier variant of the “1965 Rule” would be to introduce a LTNR (Long Term Non Resident) passport that would carry all rights other than the right to vote. No one would be stateless or have to go back anywhere (other than illegals).

The net effect would be that all Blacks and most Jews would remain full US citizens, with the change mostly corresponding to Latino immigrants – who may not in fact be all that concerned if they can retain their rights to education, work and make remittances etc.. Also the many Latinos married to US citizens would gain full citizenship.

Of course, politically it would produce a giant whine from the Zio-Glob, who would no longer be able to kick the Deplorables, and would need to work out policies to persuade them to vote Democratic, (something along the lines of Trump’s platform – on shoring, reviving manufacturing, building infrastructure, no pointless wars).

The Constitutional angle doesn’t seem too relevant. The US already seems to have an “A la Carte” Constitution, and most individuals or corporations who make a mistake will usually put it right ASAP so government could usefully follow the same line.

In school in the USSR I had the second shift from fourth to tenth (last) grade (there were only two schools in a huge residential area, so too many kids for one shift) from 1 to 5:30 pm. So, we had free morning and plenty of free time after school. The quality of teachers varied, but they all had to follow the national program, so the school actually taught (and tested what you have learned). My daughter wanted to go to Russia for one semester in the seventh grade. She did that, despite our warnings, and found the hard way that in the seventh grade they expected you to know what was taught in the first six. In the US math in any grade starts with times table, as the teacher cannot be sure that kids know even that.

Most schools in the US are truly pathetic, many African countries have better schools (while spending only a small fraction of what is spent in the US per student). School system in the US is pretty much like MIC: a black hole sucking in huge resources while producing very little for it.

Here the whole system is sick.

If, by “here,” you mean the USA, then you certainly are correct. It is basically daycare. There is no reason on Earth that kids need to be corralled for hours for months on end each year for many years to learn what they need to learn.

To top it off, they are constantly under the influence of bureaucrats and often goofy peers who are not monitored by their parents. This is child abuse on a grand scale and has to account for the sick and degenerating society in which we live.

Even worse is that the problems of these systems of schooling were noted by many a century ago.

Then there’s this, which is even more true today…

This is Ben Franklin (as Silence Dogood) at age 16 :

“…I reflected in my Mind on the extreme Folly of those Parents, who, blind to their Childrens Dullness, and insensible of the Solidity of their Skulls, because they think their Purses can afford it, will need send them to the Temple of Learning, where, for want of a suitable Genius, they learn little more than how to carry themselves handsomely, and enter a Room genteely, (which might as well be acquir’d at a Dancing-School,) and from whence they return, after Abundance of Trouble and Charge, as great Blockheads as ever, only more proud and self-conceited.

China and the Chinese people have not proven that they can fight and win total war. They exist and thrive at the behest of the masters of the world, not their own.

  152. School system in the US is pretty much like MIC: a black hole sucking in huge resources while producing very little for it.

I suspect that’s a main reason why the systems exist. They also appear to be make work programs for bureaucrats whose main talent is lording over kids.

What makes people think that it’s kids learn important things efficiently in schools such as we have here? Sending kids to schools in the US practically constitutes parental neglect or abandonment.

Furthermore, I know a kid who at the age of 3 could read English fluently and by age 4 could handle Gary Larson’s “The Far Side” meaning that he understood the thing. He learned from his 6 older sibs who were all avid readers. I also know of a 4 year old who does addition subtraction up to 3 places in his head, can count by any single and a few double digits up to and beyond a thousand and is pretty good at basic multiplication. He basically learned it on his own by asking adults questions. The point I’m making is that if a kid is curious enough, he can learn things rapidly and well without school.

At the university I attended we used to laugh at the “education” majors; everyone, including them, knew that they were pretty much the bottom of the academic barrel and not far above burger flipping.

Yeah, I too was wondering how Paul Anka got into this discussion. How about an actual black&white rock band? Blacks wouldn’t take a lot back either. Yes, I saw black guys in muscle cars with rebel flag license plates.

Yes, for people from this point on, it would work.

But for those who have US citizenship, that too by birth, that is irreversible, as they don’t have the citizenship of any other country (and if born here, never lived in the country of their grandparents).

Remember, any hypothetical revocation of US citizenship means another country has to simultaneously take up that person’s citizenship (that too for a person who may never have lived there). The US is not about to persuade all these countries to do that.

    >That’s interpreting China as you see it at present.

It’s interpreting China as it is. China is simply not interested in serving as some beaconing light for the rest of humanity to follow. They’re just getting back to their normal role in human affairs after having an abnormally awful run of luck through the 1800s and most of the 1900s. This doesn’t mean China can’t be (or isn’t) a threat to the US, but it does make them easier to deal with than our foreign policy elites seem to believe.

As for the rest of what you said, the British were latecomers to the imperial messianic tradition, I’d certainly agree with that. And I don’t think the Hapsburgs ever had it. But I don’t think that’s true for Rome or the Ottomans. By the time it was a full-fledged empire, Rome saw its destiny to convert whoever it could to the Roman way, and Rome was an empire from at least the end of the Second Punic War onwards. The Aeneid, which was at its core Augustan propaganda, couldn’t make that clearer. Other cultures and traditions were tolerated, but they were to submit to Roman hegemony, and local elites became Romanized, barbarians living in close proximity became “cooked”, in imperial Chinese parlance. The Ottomans worked very similarly with the millet system.

    >When was the term “Empire” first used with regard to the United States?

I have no idea, if we discount the idiotic neocon fantasizing. I personally think the US went from republic to empire with the huge industrialization boom of the post-Civil War era, when our society and economy transformed in fundamental ways, culminating in the Spanish-American War. I’m open to hearing other arguments. One could argue the Manifest Destiny and the Mexican-American war qualified as early imperial dreams-the messianic element I mentioned was already there-but I’m not sure that quite gets to the necessary level of reach needed to truly qualify.

I can’t envision 1840s America embracing searching out monsters abroad, to quote John Quincy Adams. 1890s America? Very different story. We’d do just that a couple decades later under the influence of the neocons of the day.

However, as Peak Stupidity points out in “There’s a lot of ruin in a nation.” (Part 2 and Part 3), with China it’s a whole nother thing.

The population of China is 10 X what Japan’s was/is, and the amount of money involved and percent of world manufacturing China undertakes is an order of magnitude higher than Japan’s rise entailed. 1.5 Trillion of the US dollars they hold could buy up a big part of all the US farmland. Don’t tell me that we can just make some laws – it doesn’t work that way. It’s the golden rule: “He who has the gold makes the rules.” Watch out, America. Stop the Stupidity.

How many people are students of the Korean War? Probably not many. When the North Koreans initiated the war they crossed the 38th Parallel and drove through South Korea all the way south until reaching Pusan with practically no resistance from the ROK army. When the Pusan perimeter was established by the US Army it held firm until a sufficient number of soldiers and supplies could be assembled to start a push back to the north. That offensive was very costly in terms of US combat losses but our army aided by intensive air support kept the North Koreans in retreat. The Wonson Harbor landing by MacArthur sealed the fate of the North Koreans who were forced back north beyond their capital of Pyongyang. The rest is history as the Chicoms entered the fray and pushed our forces all the way back to Seoul which as you say was occupied by the Chicoms for a short time. As with Vietnam the Korean War was a sad chapter in the story of our country.

It is true that China is interested in their region only, but the US will not leave them alone there’

Most Americans don’t think about this, but the reason that the United States is wandering all over God’s little green acre, sticking its nose in everybody’s business, is because we are free to roam. We have no threats in the Western Hemisphere that pin us down.

Now if China is free to roam because it’s a potential hegemon, it can roam into the Western Hemisphere. It can develop friendly relations with a country like Brazil or country like Mexico. It could put a naval base in Brazil much the way the Soviets were putting troops in Cuba, right?

So what the United States fears about China dominating Asia is the possibility that it will not invade the United States, but that it will move into the Western Hemisphere, form a close alliance with a country like Brazil or Cuba or Mexico, and become a threat to the United States from inside the Hemisphere.

It was the big American reliance on using the roads and heavy equipment that was our downfall during the cold winter in early ’51, as the Chinese had a million soldiers in the hills of N. Korea, unknown to the Americans and S. Koreans.

The real shame of it all was that the last 2 years of the 3-year war were just fought hill-by-hill in areas within 50 miles or so of the demarcation line, and nobody won much of anything but death and maiming.

The hot wars in the Orient nothing to do with the fact that the USSR was a strategically-oriented adversary with nukes pointed at us, while Red China was a mostly unknown shithole during that time and not seen as being able to fight the US directly.

America being an ‘Empire’ is a conflation between a political form which resembles previous Empires (the Roman one in the first place) and the messianic wishful thinking of the “Manifest Destiny” combined, ironically, with an ‘anti-imperialist’ mindset (in the case of America, the continuation of the British fight against the Spanish-Habsburgic, French and Portuguese Empires on the American Continent and beyond). Silent Invasion: China’s Influence in Australia” is written by Clive Hamilton, a former Greens [sic]candidate, now university professor. The book suggests that the majority of Australia’s 1.2 million people of Chinese descent are not “loyal” to Australia; casts suspicion over many of the country’s 130,000 Chinese students, as well as many individually named academics, scientists and researchers “of Chinese descent,” and alleges that numbers of prominent business and political leaders are “fifth columnists.”
    Silent Invasion

The book even claims that China plans to stake a formal territorial claim over Australia,

Hamilton warns that in the event of a war with China, local Chinese people, “citizens and non-citizens alike,” would “create ongoing and potentially severe civil strife” orchestrated by “the Chinese embassy in Canberra.”

Hey-know-it-all doo she bag, the bottom line is that the technologically far superior and also far better supplied American troops with almost complete air superiority, got their asses kicked by far inferior Chinese forces —only thing they had was a lot of comparably ill-equipped troops. Starting
in the late November 1950, the Chinese troops pushed the American and other UN troops from the Yalu River in North Korea to all the way down to the 38th parallel area after which the American troops never penetrated deeply into North Korea. Can you imagine what will happen now in a direct military confrontation between the two countries in the Korean Peninsula?

  194. @Seraphim

The USA, in my opinion a very hypocritical country.
In domestic policy, see the number of broken treaties with Indians.
In foreign policy, imperialistic, though no more than other imperia, the British excelled with ‘white man’s burden’.
It is not, and was not, that anyone in the USA was fooled, or fooled themselves.

Carnegie, who made big money producing steel and armor for Theodore Roosevelt’s Great White Fleet, said to Theodore ‘that he was changing a peaceful republic into a war mongering European monarchy’.
Kenneth Wimmel, ‘Theodore Roosevelt and the Great White Fleet, American Sea Power Comes of Age’, 1998, Dulles, Virginia

Ghandi saw clearly the situation between GB and India ‘400.000 ruling 125 million’, hope the 125 is the right figure.
But these 400.000 were not without support from the GB population, when Gordon was beaten and killed in Khartoum by Muslim forces the British population called for revenge, cannot remember having ever read a sentence as ‘what were we doing in Khartoum ?’.

Quite interesting in this respect is the autobiography of Vansittart, Permanent Under Secretary in the British Foreign Office.
Historians disagree about what influence Vansittart had, from very little to very much.
But the important fact for me in his book is that nowhere there is any doubt of the British empire’s right to exist.
Lord Vansittart, ‘The Mist Procession, The autobiography of LORD VANSITTART’, London 1958

Fascism is much debated these days, despite that nobody seems to be able to define fascism.
Maybe ten years ago on tv there was some report about Spain, a Spaniard said ‘democracy is a game, who gets most votes can rule. But in this country we have a group of people convinced that they have the god given right to rule this country’.
This is my idea about fascists, their idea that they must and can rule.
World politics, western fascism tries to rule the world, western asserted values are THE values for the whole world.

We had cinema hall and generally school was wonderful. I see local Canadian schools they are third world level by comparison. I changed school later after moving to Tashkent. Still in every respect better than any school I have seen here both as a building and obviously at what is being taught. Teachers looked like adult people dignified. My son teacher comes in drab closes, unshaven and looks like one living on the street. Another looks like old hippy. Even their looks do not inspire respect and confidence in teaching process. After a further 4 failures in 1960, the first CORONA images were returned to earth in August 1960. This first flight identified 64 previously unknown Soviet airfields, but the images were too blurred to provide detailed information on ICBMs. After several more failures, successful CORONA flights in mid-1961 proved that the Soviets had deployed only a handful of ICBMs, and these were of a type that was difficult to deploy rapidly or in large numbers. The startling news that the Soviets lacked a significant ICBM fleet… http://www2.isunet.edu/index2.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_view&gid=756&Itemid=256

The thing about China is everything they do , unlike everything the Russians do, is a real and impressive technical achievement. China is going to try and dominate its back yard and America will try and keep them pinned down at home. But China could not be defeated in Korea or the proxy war of Vietnam so fighting the Chinese now is a non-starter. They are going to take Taiwan, (openly threatened war if it declared independence over a decade ago, and exchanged nuclear threats with the US over that). Japan has already been co-opted economically.

Are Chinese people on the far side of the moon?

If they all stood on tiptoe on each others head they could get there. They have a brand new laptop factory complex in China with more workers that the British army has soldiers. Like Elon Musk worked out, a large factory is more efficient. The Chinese have less of the principal-agent problems in organizing their activities anyway, and when you add economies of scale they will simply steamroller the West.

They are going to take Taiwan, (openly threatened war if it declared independence over a decade ago, and exchanged nuclear threats with the US over that).

That’d be just peachy with this American. It is the utmost in stupidity for America to spend money defending a big island full of Chinese people whom we owe money to, from mainland China whom we owe even more money to. American soldiers, sailors, airmen, all of them, should have been out of Korea, the S. China Sea, and Japan 20 years ago, even on a slow government schedule.

Chairman Deng over there took the heavy hand of government OFF of business dealings way back at the end of the 1970’s. There’s no doubt it’s been a hell of a thing, mostly due to the fact that the Chinese people have always been hard-working (not always smart-working, but hard-working.)

I doubt he would mind, so I’ll paste in a comment by astute commenter Da Wei (I believe on one of Mr. Reed’s 3 articles previously published on his experience in China):

    ********************************************************** [Begin – Da Wei]

As an Old Timer White Privileged Good Ol’ Boy American Working Man who’s lived in China for nearly 12 years now and not around ex-pats either, but with Chinese, I offer these additional possibilities for China’s advance:

    1) No PC;
    2) No FED;
    3) No IRS;
    4) No BLM
    5) No hard-ass cops and no reason to have them;
    6) No kissing Israel’s ass. Period.;
    7) No mention of Marx and the boys or sign of what you would call “Communism”;
    8) No welfare give-aways or victimhood;
    9) No whining, entitled, fat-ass affirmative action;
    10) No massive, oppressive war industry economy and no fighting of Israel’s wars anywhere at all or in any way.

Instead, you see stoic self reliance, self respect and a willingness to work, a “market economy” just as we used to see it in the USA. Now, what’s caused the change? What should we get rid of in the US to get back on track?

P.S. China ain’t perfect, mind you. There are plenty of flaws. It’s an imperfect world anywhere you go, but the good ol’ USA could take some pointers.

    [End – Da Wei] **********************************************************

  207. There is nothing like a few shots of tequila to loosen the chains of self imposed censorship. It is not long before the truth comes pouring out, no matter how sobering that truth is.

Sad thing about the truth Fred speaks of is that is was planned many, many years ago by closet communist and capitalist oligarchs. What we have now is the result of non-participation in our local governments and believing that voting for “our” guy once every 4 years is all that is required to keep our constitution intact. Sorry to say folks, you get back what you give.

Here’s a look at how it all went down: “The heart of the Southern Strategy was the oligarchy’s plan to shift the United States from the world’s most powerful industrial economy, into a post-industrial rentier-financier empire. The industrialized cities of the North would be allowed to decay, while the relatively small cities of the South would be built up as cheap-labor service centers. As the Industrial Belt turned into the Rust Belt, the New South ascended. Houston, spurred by the oil boom, became the fourth-largest city in the country, old Atlanta became the “New Atlanta,” and sleepy Charlotte became a major international financial center. Existing cities were transformed–Dallas, San Antonio, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa-St. Petersburg, Miami, to name a few–while Northern cities such as Baltimore, Cleveland, and Philadelphia went into decline.”

No. The United States sticks its nose in everybody’s business because she is not a local power of Europe or Asia. This 2 connected continents is the center of the world, has 70% of the world population. With no influence in the center of the world, you’d have no world domination. Simple.

China is different in that it’s roughly the size of the whole of Europe with twice the population in one country. Its own population plus immediate neighbors in East and Southeast Asia have 2 billion people, not counting India.

There’s no need to roam the world. We’re sitting right at the center of the world. The Persians and Arabs will come and trade with us, no need to force them.

FAR from being a chance creation, Chinese basketball giant Yao Ming was knowingly bred for the sport, forced into it against his will and subjected to years of dubious science to increase his height, a new book claims.

An easier variant of the 1965 Rule would be to introduce a LTNR (Long Term Non Resident) passport that would carry all rights other than the right to vote. No one would be stateless or have to go back anywhere (other than illegals).

It’s not really revocation of citizenship. It’s only the creation of a new class of citizenship (or long term residence, or whatever you want to call it) without the right to vote. People in this category would receive from the US government all the documents that they need to travel and be protected by US law.

Many citizens of countries around the world don’t have the right to vote, but are still issued with passports and travel documents.

Yes, I was in school 1964-74. In the 1st grade I was in the first school (we had six parallel classes) while the new one was built, then we were transferred to the new one, where we only had four parallel classes (the area was still being built, with several new multi-apartment houses appearing every year, so the number of kids kept increasing). Both schools operated in two shifts: not enough room for everyone in one shift. Still, our school had a big gym and huge football field for PE and a little garden for practical botany.

My school was in Lugansk. That’s why I know first-hand that Ukies are criminals, first and foremost. In 2014 one of Ukie bombs damaged the side entrance to my school (where I used to smoke with friends in 9th and 10th grade). Ukie shell damaged the library where I used to borrow books when I was in school. Another exploded so close to the apartment building where my mother lived that the explosion broke all glass in one of her windows.

Thank goodness Donbass freedom fighters shot down so many Ukie military planes that they made liberated territory a no-fly zone for the Ukie scum. Thank goodness they pushed Ukie army so far from Lugansk that it cannot shell the city any more. I wish all Ukies hung on lampposts. If there is Hell, I wish them all to rot there forever.

These are not only crimes the Ukies should be severely punished for. They are defaming Ukraine by making Nazi war criminals like Bandera, Shuhevych, and their ilk heroes of Ukraine, or equating veterans of Waffen SS division Galytchyna and the scum that murdered thousands of Poles and Jews with WWII veterans that fought against Hitler. They are defaming beautiful Ukrainian language by spewing so much BS in it that now it causes a gag reflex in Russia. The funniest thing is, those “patriots”, including their “president”, don’t even speak proper Ukrainian. Well, I guess it’s natural – scum cannot do anything right.

    How the west was won,

For the uninitiated, when the mob wanted to ‘tame the wild wild west’, they needed lots of slave labors .
They went to China to recruit/con/hustle tens of thousands of coolies , ferried them back to US to work in mines, railroads…under very harsh conditions, many were cold bloodedly murdered [1]

After the rail was completed, its time to send these chinks back to where they belong.
Violence, intimidation, even wholesale murder were employed to drive out all the remaining chinks.

Ah Liza. There ain’t not many East Asians and East Indians in Brasil. These Chindians are highly ethnocentric, driven (have a solid appetite for money), some of them quite intelligent (skews towards the east asians) and quite many are highly ambitious and loquacious (skews towards those sneaky east Indians and other subCONs). They might just be shy of a mere decade or two towards replacing the WASP as Tier II elite in the USA (a decade or less in Canada by the way). With their average income here almost twice as that of most whites, they’ve started looking down on us (that’s rather rich coming from them esp the Indians but whatever) so they won’t allow massive race mixing, even with whites.

The writing is on the wall already. The interesting thing would be to see how will the chosen ones (the tier I elite) play ball here.

Whites must get off our asses and move towards creating an ethnostate in these formerly united states of America (soon to be mexchindia) or most of us would be within the riff raff of blacks, mestizos and trailer park whites.

    Why would you say that?

When you (generic you) lower yourself as compared to other ethnos, then you have lost the “battle” already.

Chinese and Indian are smart enough, but by what measure would they be ‘superior’ to Europeans or Americans? (I take it you are of European ancestry: I am not).

Honestly, if we continue using IQ and “intellect” as the basis for continuously taking people in from those countries (housing more than 2 billion humans), we will still get around a million immigrants/yr from there alone. Many of them would then climb the political ladder pretty fast (considering how anti-white the establishment already is).

Do you want to go down that road? We are already on the road to being a minority even without any non white mass immigration at this point.

Basing one’s argument on the “smarts” is tacitly accepting that being “smart” and “superior” (by whatever metric, money or IQ etc) is enough of a reason for one race of people to completely dominate and wipe out the less smart ones. I value REAL diversity, NOT the globo homo version of it whereby everyone around the world should have similar “values” (as dictated from the top), and be a sea of beige (and varying shades of brown) colored humans everywhere.

That is their vision for humanity and by accepting that smart people have the right to go and live wherever they want (aka mass immigrate) we are helping their cause

The whole Ukraine was rundown. I can’t even say it’s the guilt of the current regime: most things kept deteriorating ever since 1991. I used to visit my parents in Lugansk once a year, the last time being 2013. I only saw Donetsk airport (where I used to fly from Munich), the road between Donetsk and Lugansk (a guy drove me), and Lugansk itself. Before Euro 2012 soccer championship they built a new terminal in Donetsk airport, pretty decent. The road between Donetsk and Lugansk was full of potholes. It was repaired before Euro 2012, but was almost as bad as before in 2013. I appreciated the difference with Russian roads in Crimea in 2015, where all major roads were already repaired (the side roads remained in their Ukrainian state), and in September 2018 when I drove from Penza to Nizhni Novgorod and back. Ukrainian road police was interested exclusively in bribes, which they extorted under any pretext imaginable. That’s why I was surprised when I drove in Crimea in 2015, and the policeman stopped me for driving without lights on (it turns out that in Russia you are supposed to have them on at all times), gave me a warning and let me go, without even hinting about a bribe. Apparently, Russians changed their habits in a short time.

The roads and sidewalks in Lugansk looked like they were not repaired since Soviet times. I wonder whether freedom fighters repaired them now. I wanted to visit Lugansk in the fall of 2018, but Ukies murdered Zakharchenko right before our trip. Everybody said that it might be unsafe to visit LNR with an American passport, as the US is the main supporter of the criminal regime in Kiev.

The variety and quality of sausages, baked goods, and other foods in general in the supermarkets in Lugansk before the war was much better than in Soviet times. However, only farmers’ market provided decent fruits and veggies, whereas the stuff in supermarkets was imported tasteless crap, like in the US.

I was also in Kiev about 6-7 years ago for a few days. In contrast to Lugansk, where lots of people bought high-quality stuff, when I chose a good sausage in Kiev, the shop attendant warned me that it is expensive, and asked whether I really want to buy it. Apparently, the people were relatively poor. They became poorer now. The restaurants were very good, though, better than in Soviet period. But there were few people in them (in sharp contrast to Russia in 2018, where I saw lots of people in restaurants, including pretty expensive ones, in Moscow, Penza, and Nizhni Novgorod).

Now that I evacuated my mother from Lugansk (naturally, via Russia), I won’t go to Ukraine until they hang their Nazis on lampposts. I even boycott Ukraine-made products in our Russian store in Nashville (they have them from various countries and serve all Eastern Europeans, including our Germans – they have the same idea as Russians about bread and sausage, so they don’t want American crap).

The Japs made big inroads in small autos (maybe >30% of the US market by the mid-80’s), stereos (HI-fi, not WI-fi!) and other electronics, but America was still BY FAR the undisputed manufacturing leader of the world. China has 10X the population, who work just as hard (though probably not quite as smart) as the Japs do.

There is no reason to beat the Chinese in a trade war. The point is to reduce the huge trade deficit that allows the Chinese to be able to soon buy up a big part of our country. You can’t keep being on the buying end, without generating wealth, forever. The money will come back and get whatever wealth you have remaining.

You used the phrase “economic fight” too. I don’t know if you’d call it a fight, but if a country can’t compete economically, it will eventually lose the military edge too. I’m not too worried about that either.

. China is spending its surplus on home grown high tech and thus R&D instead of buying US high tech products. That’s what is putting the wind up US strategists. If China balanced their trade by buying like energy and food from the US not high tech, the problem would still be there. Reagan managed to stop Japan going down the route China is taking, but it was with some difficulty–even though Japan was a satellite of the US.

John Mearsheimer summed it up in his 2001 book The Tragedy of Great Power Politics:-

Given the difficulty of determining how much power is enough for today and tomorrow, great powers recognize that the best way to ensure their security is to achieve hegemony now, thus eliminating any possibility of a challenge by another great power. Only a misguided state would pass up an opportunity to be the hegemon in the system because it thought it already had sufficient power to survive

Hey, Saratoga, I did see a historical monument (inside a sort of shelter) in the SE of China that commemorated Richard Nixon’s visit there. This was not about his first visit, and, if I remember right, it may have been at a time after he had resigned from office (I recall 1974, but not the date.) The writing in English was pretty fair, with praise for the man (of course, who knows what it said in Chinese?!)

This was in a. kind of resort town, though I couldn’t tell you the name of it if I tried. A “resort” town in China doesn’t mean much, though.

Cultures don’t always have long memories. I imagine almost every Chinaman/woman under 50 would have no idea who Richard Nixon was. The greatest investments in the world right now are in China. The Chinese elite have bolt hole and nest egg money in the US, but are taking a bit of a chance because America might well freeze those assets of China if there is armed conflict that Mearshiemer is predicting. Trump openly raised the possibility of default just to get out of debts.

The railways and electricity generation plants in Argentina were owned by Britain, but they could not take them away and it would not have helped them it they could. I think the Chinese use of the surplus to buy their own inferior high tech is the key problem. If China can keep that up (and it is difficult to see how to stop them), then they quite possibly will overtake the US in economic power and then technology.

China can dominate their neighbours and as the world’s most powerful economy everyone will want to be their friends. America cannot allow China to succeed in doing what they would be misguided to not try and do. So the outcome will inevitably be that only one of them is going to come out on top, and the rulling class of the other will become demoralized. If the many historical examples of lost wars precipitating unrest is any precedent, the loser will suffer a complete revolution in social conditions.

As the US economy drains out wealth, it’ll be Chinese owners picking up a lot of it. Freezing of assets? Yeah, that means the money stops. People will feel lots of financial pain, and Americans are much averse to financial pain and thriftiness, which is why they are borrowing to hold onto the same quality of life that they used to actually be able to afford.

You don’t get this part: I already wrote that laws can be written to prevent this and prevent that, but if a Chinese owner actually is the money man behind a steel or auto plant, people are not going let the plant get shut down. If a big chunk of farmland of the Midwest is owned by Chinese people, and farming will STOP if the money stops. That’s bad.

I think a default on the US dollar will come. That will be when things get back to reality in America and when we have passed Peak Stupidity. It’ll be painful, but it has to come. What can’t go on, won’t go on [h/t Instapundit].

Sean, you should read my 3 posts in this comment, that are on “There’s a lot of ruin in a nation.” I would appreciate a critique.

Fred, I like the Chinese and wish them well, and think they are a gifted and interesting people, but it’s amazing that two decades into the 21st century the big thing about China is still that they are amazing at tests, and not that they’ve produced a raft of innovative and cutting edge companies or brilliant thinkers and experts. It’s amazing that people still think these tests are “the best predictive tool we have”.

Ten years ago China boosters were telling me that any moment now the Chinese explosion of genius was about to happen.

But the big thing is still that they dominate tests.

With 4 times the size of the US population, and a higher average IQ (tests), I would expect just one major brilliant thing from China – one amazing thinker who just blows any Westerners out of the water, one amazing company, some incredible advance in any technology or field whatsoever.

But it hasn’t happened. And that’s just ridiculous. We are constantly told to wait.

I have no doubt the West is going through a period of relative decline now and China will rise in relative wealth and power – such are the normal cycles of history, and what goes up must come down. And I have no doubt that the Chinese are a highly intelligent people.

But let’s say this – if in 30 years time China with its massive population and higher IQ doesn’t perform brilliantly in some technological or intellectual field, then can we just once and for all say “our best predictive tool” (tests) just isn’t very good really?

Of course, if IQ tests are really so wonderfully predictive, China should be asserting full spectrum dominance across all intellectual and technological fields – yet they struggle with jet engines. And I would accept just one area.

None of this is to insult the Chinese, who I admire and whose culture I consider superior to the West in many ways – it is to show that abstract IQ tests just aren’t very good, and it is much better to look at the historical Chinese pattern of performance, which is peculiar to them and unique, and which will give us a much better picture of what to expect than IQ.

Concrete reality always better than abstract tests.

British social philosopher John A. Hobson, in Imperialism: A Study (1902),

In a word, the investors and business managers of the West appear to have struck in China a mine of labour power richer by far than any of the gold and other mineral deposits which have directed imperial enterprise in Africa and elsewhere; it seems so enormous and so expansible as to open up the possibility of raising whole white populations of the West to the position of “independent gentlemen,” living, as do the small white settlements in India or South Africa, upon the manual toil of these laborious inferiors. . . . Such an experiment may revolutionise the methods of Imperialism; the pressure of working-class movements in politics and industry in the West can be met by a flood of China goods, so as to keep down wages and compel industry [of Western workers], or, where the power of the imperialist oligarchy is well set, by menaces of yellow workmen or of yellow mercenary troops, while collaboration in this huge Eastern development may involve an understanding between the groups of business politicians in the Western States close enough and strong enough to secure international peace in Europe and some relaxation of militarism

Maybe, but what does this say about our IQ tests?

Maybe they don’t predict all that much…

I regard China as a test case for IQ validity.

If in 20 years, in my lifetime, and rather soon, China with it its massive population of people with higher IQ than whites, does not assert full spectrum intellectual dominance as IQ tests predict it should, then IQ tests are not very predictive.

Its quite simple. By now, China should have been intellectually dominant. That’s what IQ tests are supposed to predict. It is already too late.

But ok, 20 years. And ok, just one major field. One major technological advance. Not even full spectrum dominance.

If it doesn’t happen, we know IQ tests are bunk.

Everything else is just talk. See you in 20 years….

I have little doubt that they will dominate more than 1 field, but one needs to keep in mind that “intellectualism” isn’t in the culture’s DNA. They are eminently practical people. The idea that “intellectual property” is a property at all is alien to them. Skills are valuable, and are handsomely remunerated, but an idea’s only value is in its implementation, and devolves to the implementer.

Be that as it may, IQ tests are bunkum. They probably do test something, but nobody knows, or even can know what that is.

Why do we assume the IQ results China reports are accurate? Is there any way to verify that they aren’t somehow messing with them? They aren’t honest about anything else why do we assume they’re honest about this?

The IQ of the average Chinese may be exaggerated or skewed to look high in testing in a way that will make their country less coruscating that their average IQs may suggest , but even if that is true there is no reason to think that full spectrum dominance in anything will remain out of their reach

There was a time when Britain led the world in major technological advances, and Britain was ahead in pure science for a long time after it had ceased to be a technological leader or the world’s most powerful economy. The moral is that China can overtake America in the same way that Greece was overtaken by Rome.

  292. AaronB says:

    @Sean

I think you mean to say intelligence may not be reflected well on an IQ test – an IQ score always reflects IQ by definition.

And yeah, the Chinese are a good example of how performance on tests and in the real world remain very different things.

I think when you have a situation where the Chinese, who are ridiculously dominating all the various tests like Math Olympiads and what not, yet who do not dominate or perform at the top level in any single real world domain, then our tests don’t predict real world results all that well.

It may not be a design flaw, but simply a limitation of all tests.

I never asserted that full spectrum dominance is out of China’s reach – I don’t know. I said China’s IQ advantage plus population size would predict full spectrum dominance in the real world if tests correlate well with real world performance.

I also said that even though China has been developing for 40 years on very favourable terms, there is not only no sign of full spectrum dominance, but not even single field dominance – when for most countries historically, 50 years of development is more than enough to reveal their potential.

Yet for IQ boosters, China’s full potential is always in a future that is just over the horizon.

I suspect we think in this silly way because we are dazzled by abstractions and ignore concrete reality. I suspect that if we didn’t have IQ tests and Math Olympiads and such things we’d have a very different assessment of China and Chinese, a much more realistic one, and one grounded in concrete facts.

I am trying to bring us down from the clouds to the real world.

But those are obviously not representative samples. In order to have a meaningful number we’d have to know that the tests are based on virtually the entire Chinese population or on a large representative sample. I don’t think there is any reason to think we’ve got either of those things. How do we know they don’t just refuse to test the bottom 10% or not test certain poor rural areas, etc? It seems to me that in order for average IQ to be known the Chinese people would have to be a lot more honest than they are.

Regardless of tests, I think you’re right that their potential has been overestimated. Aside from what you’ve pointed out, they are a demographic train wreck in progress. They’re going to be an old country before they’re a rich one and that’s a big problem. They also appear to have a very big problem with how they breed. The smarter ones move to big cities and have one or zero children while the poor, rural ones have more. I fully expect them to be like Japan in that 20 years from now we’ll be looking back at all the panic and recognizing how foolish it was.

Impossible to disagree with this, and its useful to be reminded of it. So much of our talk about China is really silly.

I think in general East Asian populations in more reliable countries and East Asian sub populations in the US (which of course may not be representative) create an assumption that Chinese test scores are probably similar – but of course this is wrong. European countries similar in physical type and broadly general culture, like say Holland and Croatia, have average IQs that differ by as much as 15 points (!).

So the average IQ of South Korea or Japan, or small and selected Chinese diasporas across the world, can not be used to lend any credibility to mainland Chinese figures.

The only reason we are having this discussion is because real world performance isn’t in this case correlating to supposed IQ scores – the ironic thing is if China had dazzling achievements that were undeniable, there would be no point speculating whether it manipulated its IQ scores. It would be irrelevant.

You cannot dispute real world accomplishment. When that exists, there is zero need to turn to anything else.

I agree with you about the China hype – China’s achievements are impressive and deserve congratulation, and Chinese people are a capable and intelligent bunch for sure, but their conquering ways so far are limited to the domain of tests and formal academic measures remote from the real world.

But people who think purely in abstract measures miss the concrete reality – for them, the numbers are so impressive on paper. They are “paper thinkers”.

I think that a lot of people are unfairly putting the blame for the decline of American public schools on blacks. It might be that black children are very disruptive in school and have a negative effect. However, I went to a public school for grades K through 8 in a lily-white suburb (15 miles from where Dr. Robert Weissburg grew up). Here is what I remember:

    a. From grades 4 through 6, I learned almost no new math skills. I learned my multiplication tables in grade 3. I learned pre-algebra in grade 7. I have a feeling that I could have learned these skills earlier.

    b. I read The Adventures of Tom Sawyer on my own in grade 2. It was not until sophomore year in a parochial school when I read the sequel, the Adventures of Huckerberry Finn, as assigned reading.

    c. If I complained about how slow the curriculum felt, I was told that not everyone was as fast as me and the other students needed time to catch up.

    d. There were almost no blacks in my class (they only constituted 1%).

Your comment is showing us a specimen of the worst kind of “crank” of mankind demonstrating his unshakable belief that most of his contemporaries consider to be false.

USA has largest population in incarceration in the world; USA has most serve and highest number of gun violence in the world; USA has highest divorce rate and broken families in the world; in the USA, the 1% holds 50% of the national wealth while the bottom 50% hold 1% of the national wealth; USA refused to join UN Climate Control Agreement, USA withdrew from UN Human Right Committee, USA withdrew ABM treaty; USA waged reckless and unjust wars around the world since WWII.

It is amazing how American education is enstupidating Americans. The American education system is making Americans believe the American is full of cultural aptitude and social skills yet they have so many social problems and committed so many diplomatic blunders and war crimes. The American education is make historically incompetent groups look competent in the USA.
