Gazing out over the chaos of America today, the racial and ethnic antagonism, the hostility over sex and faith and politics–I have never seen anything like it. The country is imploding. The main culprit is diversity–in the broad sense, not just the juxtaposition of races, but the mixing of ideas and philosophies with no dominant culture to maintain order. Current policies promoting this mess are insane.

We hate each other.

Countries are happiest when they have one national culture, or at least one dominant culture to which all must perforce conform. We see this in countries like Japan and Korea, homogeneous societies which, because homogeneous, have no race riots or religious wars. It was largely true in, for example, Sweden and France until they began admitting immigrants from incompatible cultures. Today, most of the news from such countries deals with the consequences.

Diversity, never a good idea. is in fact the cause of most of the world’s conflicts: Shia and Sunni, Jew and Arab, Hutu and Tutsi, Tamil and Sinhalese, Hindu and Muslim and, in America, black, white, and brown. Diversityis the cause of the dissolution of American society.

Until roughly the Sixties, America was homogeneous enough, overwhelmingly white, European, Anglophone, and Christian. This provided sufficient commonalty that people all regarded themselves as Americans. At the same time, there were many geographically separated subcultures which had little in common and didn’t like each other, or wouldn’t have if they had come into contact. Massachusetts, Montana, Alabama, West Virginia, and New York were different civilizations.

It worked because the different sections had little contact with each other. Life was intensely local. Roads were poor, limiting commerce. There was of course no internet. Telephone calls were expensive and there was no direct long-distance dialing. The federal government lacked the capacity to dictate to local communities. Radio meant local AM stations. Businesses were mostly owned locally with few chains run from remote corporate offices.

People consequently lived among others like themselves, who had the same values and ideas about how things should be done. In Virginia high school boys drove to school with shotguns in deer season so as to get to the woods when classes ended. It would have been unthinkable in Boston. In the Bible Belt the Ten Commandments might be on the wall in the courthouse, which everyone thought natural. Tidewater Virginia believed in gentility while West Virginia liked a wild and rough freedom. These wee not compatible yet there was no friction because pretty much everyone in these regions believed what everybody else did.

Then everything changed. Diversity began, not at first of people so much as of ideas. Reasons were several. Communications improved. Interstates appeared. The federal government gained in power and reach. The Supreme Court began making sweeping decisions on manners, morals and faith–that is, on culture and values–which it had not done before. Now Washington–New York, really–could enforce these decisions.

The result was unwanted cultural diversity. The Court decided in decision after decision that increasingly explicit pornography enjoyed protection as free speech, imposing an alien ideology on small towns in Kansas. This culminated in internet porn accessible to children of ten, uncontrolled and uncontrollable. Obscene music poured out of New York as local stations were bought by Manhattan, from which rap came–unfit, in most regions, for a toilet wall. Towns could not defend themselves because of the doctrine of free speech and the massively increased power of the northeast. Television became national with similar trampling of local values of faith, propriety, and race.

Particularly invasive was the newly invented doctrine of separation of church and state. For at least a hundred and fifty years no one, neither court nor individual, had noticed that the Constitution forbade manger scenes on the town square at Christmas, or the singing of carols on public streets, or mention of the Bible in schools. It was yet more compelled cultural diversity.

Then came the compulsory mixing of disparate populations that we usually think of today as diversity. First came the racial integration of blacks and whites, cultures with virtually nothing in common. It worked as well as was widely expected. The two differed sharply in manners, morals, attitudes to education, dress, and acquiescence to law. The result was the disaster we see daily in the news.

The Latinos came. While they resembled whites much more than did blacks, they were racially distinct and differed in culture. Hostility arose among native whites. who liked their culture as it was.

The obvious soon became evident to those not ideologically resistant to it: In matters cultural, you can’t have it both ways. When you mix in schools populations whose values are contradictory–say, those who believe in clean language and those three quarters of whose discourse consists of “motherfucker,” one side has to give. You cannot require half of the studentry to follow a dress code while allowing the other half to wear pants almost around their ankles. Those who did not eat pork or did eat dogs coexisted uneasily with those who had opposing dietary ideas. Those who mutilated their children’s reproductive organs in one manner (Christians and Jews) and those who did it in another (Muslims) came into conflict.

The less well diversity worked, the more furiously its advocates sought to impose it. Feminists arose, hostile to men and powerful enough to impose themselves on society. They pushed women into the infantry, where they did not fit and did not belong: more ill-advised diversity. Homosexuality went from being quietly tolerated to being taught to children in grade school. though their parents abominated it.

ORDER IT NOW

Those inhabiting the extreme reaches of political correctness imagine a world as they think it should be and then try to move into it, dragging everyone else along. I think of the Beatles insipidly crooning “All You Need is Love” in eternal adolescent sanctimony. They of course hated those who disagreed with them. Obama, who transparently liked neither whites or America, imported many hundreds of thousands of immigrants who were almost impossible to assimilate. It was, I suspect, revenge for 1619.

It did not, of course, work. And so the papers carry endless stories of Islamophobia, dislike of Jews, attacks on Christianity, of misandry, looting of malls, burning of cities, White Nationalism, Black Lives Matter, calls for The Wall, novel policies regarding bathrooms, anger over Spanish on federal forms, affirmative action, perennial academic gaps, the demands of the various sexual curiosities, the Knockout Game, special privilege for this and that group, and a seething anger and despair over a country that many remember but no longer exists.

Well, I could add to what Reed says, agree with him on quite a few things. But I have kids. My side (socially conservative, anti US imperialism, anti Marxism in any guise) is losing.

The alt-right talks about immigration restriction. Suppose Trump achieved it, during his next term too. We can then talk about expulsion of Latinos and Muslims. But they are symptomatic. How to fight an enemy we cannot pinpoint? We are not fighting only “the Jews”. How do we publicly identify American globalists? Where do we send a press corps to cover their meetings?

The globalists we are up against, what is their next move?

Are you trying to be funny?

    Academia
    Government Employees
    Corporate Boardrooms
    and repeat, Media

    Identified.

And to the point- for all the diversity advocates the undercurrent becomes ever more openly Satanic.
From Samantha Bee to Mark Zuckerburg to the Clintons and the Bushes, all of them increasingly resemble something that stepped out of a Hieronymus Bosch painting. Hate radiates off of them in stinking waves of intolerance, wrath, and envy, and it shows in their faces.

  3. In Virginia high school boys drove to school with shotguns in deer season so as to get to the woods when classes ended. It would have been unthinkable in Boston.

Boys in Boston obviously would not drive to school, and any Boston boys who hunted likely did not attend public schools.

But I’m not so sure about the guns thing. There was a time when locals would dress as Minutemen and shoulder muskets in the Boston Marathon.

Gun control to deter crime dates to the 1930s, but the modern liberal attitude to guns didn’t emerge until the 60s as far as I know. Obviously they couldn’t blame their precious pet negros for the crimes they committed.

The TV series Mad Men makes note of this. One of the characters purchases a small bolt action rifle in a Manhattan department store and brings it to the office. The year is 1960. None of the characters think this is odd. His wife is upset, but only because he returned something of hers in order to get the rifle.

This is of course fiction and 1960 was long before my time, but looking at old advertisements from the 50s it doesn’t seem out of place.

I think that Americans of different regions actually had a lot more in common before the war than after it, despite–or perhaps because of–improvements in communications since then.

Fundamentally the fight with Nazi Germany caused Northerners, but Southerners, to reevaluate their view of negros. As Northeastern liberals moved beyond negros to numerous other liberal sacraments, they found many enemies outside of the South as well.

Modern communications makes everyone perfectly aware of what is going on elsewhere in the country, and thus that much easier to hate your enemies.

  4. @Thorfinnsson

As an illustration of how quickly things change: In the early 1980s, I worked in Downtown Boston, Massachusetts (in the financial district, corner of Washington and State Streets). About a block down Washington Street from where I worked was a large Woolworth’s department store. On the second floor was a firearms department with a small but decent selection of firearms and ammo. At lunch one day I went there and purchased a Ruger Model II .22 target pistol. I brought it back to my office and tried a field strip and re-assembly. (Anyone familiar with the pistol will know what happened next. It took me hours at home to get the pistol back together.) During my fumbling with the disassembled Ruger, my boss – a middle-aged woman – dropped by, raised her eyebrows, and said that she’d prefer I not bring guns to the office. That was the only consequence, perhaps because she grew up in Michigan. How things have changed in less than forty years.

BTW, one of the deepest regrets of my gun-owning life is not buying a surplus M1A1 carbine that this same Woolworth’s was selling at the time for around $100! Once again: How things have changed!

  5. Before I write anything else, I want to state that this is probably the best column I’ve EVER read by Fred Reed, and I used to read his weekly articles on FredOnEverything.com. It really does describe the incremental cultural destruction of this country very well and succinctly.

I do want to add this, to Fred, and this is about just your 1st paragraph and next one-liner: I know you are semi-retired and living far away (not sure if you come to the US often or not). This means, like a lot of people, you get lots of political info off of the web. It’s great, sure. However, one can get so involved, spending so much time on it, that one will see all the madness and stupidity that things will look like it’s amazing we are not in a civil war right this moment. Reading the drudgereport headlines daily will really make you think that the country, if not the entire world, will surely end tomorrow. I don’t know, maybe it will.

Not to take anything away from your correct view that things will implode here, there are still people everywhere getting along each day, or trying hard, working with each other, raising kids together and just living away from this stuff most of the day. It helps. I imagine most of them don’t really know what we’re in for and why, but others who do just still have to live their lives. There have been worse times in most countries throughout most of history.

This is excellent, a probing, dispassionate big-picture view of the whole mess we have got ourselves into. We do hate each other, we really do. I see no clear way out other than, like Fred, to relocate to the fun side of the wall. Mexico has its own problems too, but it’s not my country, so those problems belong to somebody else. And what’s not to like about a culture whose popular music features the tuba?

My great aunt, born in the 1890s, lived in the city for nearly a 100 years. She had a Derringer. Of course , her parents were Gaelic Irish, not Brahmins.

  8. We all know this. The next questions is: What can we do about it. The liberal cabal who is pushing this, who we can’t name for fear of losing a job and being publicly scorned, has:

    ~ taken over the media and turned it into a anti-Christian marxist propaganda machine;
    ~ taken over the education system and turned it into an anti-Christian marxist brainwashing machine;
    ~ taken over the legislative branch of government by stocking our courts and benches with marxist judges who have politicized their jobs and are instituting laws instead of interpreting laws, which is their only job;
    ~ created a race war where none existed;
~ created national security organizations that report to no one and are spying on Americans
    ~ taken over government positions and turned them into political weapons to use against non-marxists and conservatives;
~ organized anti-Christian marxist 503C tax-exempt organizations (and their rabid marxist lawyers who do their dirty work) who have used the Constitution in any number of ways to destroy this country.

Besides balkanizing the USA, which would be a pretty bloody procedure, how would we ever extricate ourselves from this marxist takeover? I believe the first order of business is a new Just War Doctrine 2.0 because the battlefield for this takeover was the courts and the disguised stealth movement of this marxist, liberal cabal. We are being destroyed by these people and it calls for extreme actions to be taken.

I would be interested if anyone has any “solutions” to this.

  9. Anon • Disclaimer says:

Ethno-nationalism, if possible, is the best form of political organization.

    This is easy to prove.

Take Israel, Jordan, and Lebanon. Israel is ethno-nationalist even though it has lots of Arabs. Israel has a solid Jewish majority and is a Jewish state by theme.
Jordan is 80% Palestinian. It’s ruled by ‘Jordanians’, but they are Arabs who are racially same as Palestinians. So, it’s a 100% Arab nation. Lebanon is more complicated due to Shia, Sunni, and Christian divisions. Still, at least they are all Arabic or close to it.

So, despite their internal divisions(most problematic in Lebanon), all three nations manage to keep the peace within the borders.
Now, would it improve things IF Israel, Lebanon, and Jordan were unified into a single nation? Who in his right mind would think politics, culture, and society in this new super-state will work out better than if the three nations remained separate? Jews have enough problems with Arabs in Israel. Do they want to deal with all those other Arabs in the new bigger nation? And how will the Arabs feel about the immense power of wealth held by Jews? As long as Jews are in Israel, their money is their business. But if Israel were to unite with Lebanon and Jordan into a single nation, Jewish wealth becomes a political issue for others who will demand a piece of it. And in every election, the various groups will just vote for their own kind based on tribalism. Indeed, such tribalism is already a problem in Israel and Lebanon. It would just be much worse if three nations were to unite into one.

Now, consider Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia. All three used to be part of Indochina under French rule. Today, they are three separate ethno-states. For the most part, they seem to get along in peace. There used to be wars but they are over. Peace is nice.

Now, who in his right mind would argue that things will be better if Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia merged into a nation called New Indochina? It will just lead to political tensions, cultural conflicts, and social friction. It’s much better for all three groups to have and own their own nations.

And then, consider Yugoslavia. Why did it break apart into different nations? Because other groups resented the Serbian-dominant central government in Belgrade.

And Czechs and Slovaks seem to be happy gone their separate ways.

Anyway, where did WWI originate? Right, the Austro-Hungarian Empire that stifled the dream of ethno-states of many peoples living under their rule.

Now consider Japan, Korea, and Manchuria(now part of China but, for the sake of argument, considered separately). Japan and Korea are ethno-states. Manchuria is part of China that is essentially a Han ethno-state. Now, who would argue that things will be better if Manchuria, Korea, and Japan ditch the ethno-state model and merge their three nations into a single national entity called New NE Asia? Would things work better politically? Would social trust go up? Would people become more civic minded and better citizens of this new nation? Historical experience tells us that there will be many more problems, far more distrust, and etc.

And who bemoans the passing of the Soviet Empire? Upon its collapse, ethno-nation-statism became the template for all the liberated nations: Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia, Armenia, and etc, and they don’t seem to want to revert to the Russian Imperial model.
Indeed, the collapse of the Soviet Empire was welcomed by the West, and the emancipation and emergence of ethno-nation-states from the rubble of communism were seen as a great thing.

So, just how did ethno-nation-statism become such a dirty word? Because Jewish globalists took power in the US, and they want to dominate the world. And in their eyes, ethno-nation-state patriotism is the biggest barrier to globalist takeover.
So, while nationalism was effective as a tool to break up the USSR and Yugoslavia, it is now deemed problematic because it stands in the way of globalist takeover. Consider Poland and Hungary that defies the EU that is controlled by US. Globalists sure hate those two nations.

The world would have been so much better if the US and EU didn’t embark on Diversity. The great opportunity in the Golden Age of Nationalism was lost. After WWII, nationalism became either the universal dream of every people or the lot of former empires. So, Algerians, Vietnamese, Kenyans, and Cubans struggled for national independence from imperialism and achieved their goals.
And with the fall of empires, former imperial powers simply became nation-states once again. French empire was gone and there was only the French nation. British empire was gone and there was only the British nation. So, with the fall of empires, there was only nations left in most of the world. Africans, Asians, and Arabs regained their own turfs and had their own nations, some more soundly conceived and organized than others. And having lost their empires, the Brits, French, Dutch, and etc had only their nations left. So, most peoples were into nationalist mode. And even though US and USSR were two great empires, they condemned the idea of empire and claimed to help people around the world to gain national liberation from the Other imperialist power. So, the Soviets backed Vietnamese patriots against the French and Americans. And the US condemned Soviet crushing of Hungarian and Polish national aspirations.

But what messed up the ideal of universal nationalism? Immigration and globalism. If Europe and the US had kept their gates shut to non-whites, then non-whites would have invested all their smarts and energies toward developing and fixing their own nations. Everyone from elites to the masses would have had no choice but to struggle to make his own nation better. But once EU and US offered the hope of immigration and instant-better-life, too many non-whites from top to bottom were tempted to just neglect problems at home and hop on the first train, boat, or plane to go to the West. This had a deeply corrosive and corrupting effect on non-white nations. And it also had a terrible effect on the West as white folks began to lose their own territories and even lose civil liberties as well because the PC police deemed any anti-Diversity voice as ‘racist’ and ‘xenophobic’. It corrupted everything.

The fall of the USSR was the last hurrah for the ideal of universal nationalism. As Soviet Union dissolved, it not only led to the emancipation of many non-Russian republics but of Warsaw Pact nations too that had been occupied by Soviet troops. This was a great time in history. But it was short-lived.

It didn’t take long for globalists to swoop down like vultures and try to spread their hegemony over newly created nations. In the name of offering advice and providing aid, they took over entire economies and bought up media and politicians. For the globalist, nationalism had been useful only as a weapon to destabilize and dissolve the USSR. Once the Soviet empire was gone, the globalists didn’t want to see the emergence of truly free nations. Rather, they saw the weak emerging nations as their pawns in the game of global hegemony.

Mass immigration, cult of Diversity, and neo-imperialist hegemonism destroyed what could have been. Just think of how Third World nations could have done so much better from top to bottom IF the West had remained in nationalist mode and didn’t offer easy entry to would-be immigrants. Then, European nations and the US would be in much better shape with national unity and purpose. And Third World nations would be ruled by patriotic elites whose main objective would be to make their own nations richer and stronger than running off to the West at the first drop of the hat to live the good life with the Glob jetset.

  12. Such a string of intelligent, non-aggressive, non-hatefilled comments. This bodes bad luck. Just to keep the karma balanced, let’s all take a moment to remember that Fred Reed married a Mexican Jewess, hates America and Americans, and is a seekrut charter member, and a Division Director, of the Deep State.

Whew! That should hold Orwellian forces at bay for awhile.

    Damn good essay!

  13. Such a string of intelligent, non-aggressive, non-hatefilled comments.

Could that just possibly be due to the fact that Mr. Reed is not at all full-of-crap on this one, as he is on his often-posted pro-Mexicanity columns?

You may have noticed, Mr. Gittelson, that Mr. Reed’s previous column did not get that many comments. To me, it was interesting enough and well written, as usual. It’s the writing in which Fred sounds just like a lot of the presidentes and ex-presidentes of his new country, in which he wants to meddle in US anti-invasion policies, that gets the 200 comments each post*. 14. What I’d wanted to write yesterday, after my praise of this great essay, is this.

I agree with Mr. Reed’s opinion on what has done this country in. However, I think the way this “implosion” will go down will be due to financial reasons. Finance/economic policy stuff is not Fred’s area, so I don’t fault him for not mentioning it.

America is in a world of hurt, financially, no matter what the Dow Jones might be up to, or down to, this week. As documented on Peak Stupidity, ZeroHedge, and elsewhere, the debt hole we are in is too deep to get out of. We don’t create enough wealth here anymore for what we spend, and people and governments are still borrowing to live the life they feel they deserve.

The financial crash to come will make things a lot more real to people. Even with the financial and even physical pain that 99% of us will feel, the silver lining is that the stupidity we’ve seen rising steadily, including that discussed here by Mr. Reed, will END.

    Peak Stupidity, bitchez!

  15. Ron Unz says:

Well, I thought Fred’s column was pretty good, but I really can’t agree with his overall theme or conclusion…

Frankly, I think virtually all evidence from everywhere in the U.S. indicates that blacks and non-blacks have a very hard time getting along, but that most of the various types of non-blacks get along either reasonably well or even extremely well.

Let’s take my own state of California, which is extremely “diverse” given that whites aren’t much above 35% of the population these days. Presumably, it should have all the horrible “diversity” problems Fred suggests, but I just don’t see any of them, either state-wide or in my own area, where the white European population is probably closer to 30%. Maybe my eyesight is just bad or something.

Overall, California’s really been doing pretty well the last few years, certainly better than almost all the other parts of the country. The economy is booming and there’s a huge budget surplus, though obviously once the stock market finally crashes, I’m sure horrible deficits will reappear. My local big city is million-plus San Jose, and the homicide rate last year dropped by something like 35%.

Obviously, the state does have major problems, and many of these are indeed heavily immigration-related. For example, housing costs are totally ridiculous, worker wages are far too low, traffic everywhere is terrible, and the statewide water-shortage may be coming back, triggered by a renewed drought. But none of these serious problems seem to have any connection to the “diversity” issues Fred is discussing.

Admittedly, the very liberal state government does lots of stupid things. For example, since crime had greatly fallen over the last couple of decades, the state passed extreme “criminal justice reform,” which effectively almost eliminated the prosecution of petty crimes. As a natural result, there’s been a huge rise in petty crimes such as car break-ins and shoplifting in many cities, which everyone is now complaining about in the newspapers. Also, huge numbers of (white) drug addicts from other states have recently been lured to California by addiction-clinics seeking business, and this has greatly inflated the homeless/vagrant population in SF and Southern California. But again, these aren’t “diversity” related problems.

Here’s a data-point to consider. As everyone knows, Trump’s campaign aimed at the “white backlash” vote, and his huge landslide among whites surprised all the pundits and gave him the White House. But in California, whites actually voted against him, with his white support being over 25(!) points lower than in rest of the country. I think if whites elsewhere in the country had voted similarly, Trump would have lost all 50 states and suffered the worst electoral defeat in U.S. history.

    http://www.sacbee.com/opinion/california-forum/article119870398.html

So if California whites were so agitated by the “extreme diversity” here, why did Trump’s message fall completely flat?

As another data-point, here’s an amusing Hannity segment in which a FoxNews film crew interviewed Californians about the new “sanctuary state” law protecting illegal immigrants and were horrified to discover that almost everyone they asked supported it:

I’m sure that at least 95% of the commenters here will ferociously disagree with my views, and probably heap huge insults on me, but I still think I’m correct regardless.

However, I think the way this “implosion” will go down will be due to financial reasons.

You are correct. The welfare state + the military-industrial complex has completely bankrupted the nation, beyond any wishful-thinking of recovery, certainly.

The gross “diversity”, present and ever-increasing, prevents any application of effective treatment of the problem. That is to say, diversity ‘diverts’ our attention from solutions and towards coping mechanisms. In much the same way the human body adapts and compensates for a tapeworm infestation, effort is little more than an increasing delegation of sustenance to the parasite. Entropy being the merciless bastard that it is, the end is determined.

    Hello Mr. Unz,

Perhaps it’s not your eyesight, but your perspective. Your particular perch, or viewpoint, as it may be.

I don’t know you personally, but I rather glimmer you’re relatively well to do. (so to speak)

Most, if not all the white, (often WASPy) men of the Chamber of Commerce types are very much in favor of more and more diversity, and they just don’t see (or care about) the downside, Rather, quite to the contrary, the cheap labor and growth that immigration provides are a huge boon to their bottom lines.

Which explains why so many GOP Republicans are so keen for more Third World (and every other kind) of immigration, because from their perches, it’s simply a win / win.

But imagine you’re a blue collar worker from Miami, whose relatives have lived down there for generations. Now all in the sudden come the Marielitos. with wave after wave of scores of thousands of mostly men famously from Castro’s prisons and asylums, all descending upon your once homogeneous, white, English-speaking American communities.

Even the extremely liberal Sun Sentinel mentions the attendant spike in crime.

    http://articles.sun-sentinel.com/1985-09-26/news/8502100720_1_mariel-boatlift-criminals

But that’s just the beginning, because behind them are millions of other S. American and Caribbean, Haitian and Dominican and El Salvadorian and Mexican and Puerto Rican and wave after wave of immigrants that will transform your former communities into places you don’t recognize. Soon the language spoken at the local ‘cafe’ is unrecognizable. The music at the beach on your one day to take off from work, is (very loud) Salsa. At one time, when the percentage of Hispanics was less, they assimilated to your music and ways. But now that they’re a noticeable majority, the look they give you is different. Now they’re in charge, and expect you to assimilate and alter your ways.

You don’t feel that ‘connection’ to the people and culture around you.

Of course most of the newcomers are nice enough people, but they are not the Americans you grew up with and know. They are more like Kipling’s ‘Strangers”

    The Stranger within my gate,
He may be true or kind,
But he does not talk my talk–
    I cannot feel his mind.
I see the face and the eyes and the mouth,
    But not the soul behind.

The men of my own stock,
They may do ill or well,
But they tell the lies I am wanted to,
    They are used to the lies I tell;
And we do not need interpreters
When we go to buy or sell.

    The Stranger within my gates,
He may be evil or good,
But I cannot tell what powers control–
    What reasons sway his mood;
Nor when the Gods of his far-off land
    Shall repossess his blood.

The men of my own stock,
    Bitter bad they may be,
But, at least, they hear the things I hear,
    And see the things I see;
And whatever I think of them and their likes
They think of the likes of me.

    This was my father’s belief
    And this is also mine:
Let the corn be all one sheaf–
And the grapes be all one vine,
Ere our children’s teeth are set on edge
    By bitter bread and wine.

    Rudyard Kipling

And so, if you have the means, you pack up and leave. As most white folks have since left Miami, and many of its formerly white neighborhoods are now bastions of Latin and Hispanic languages and culture. Some of the more pitiable white folks who didn’t have the means to leave are stuck there, as resented hold outs, often with a defiant US flag displayed as a relic of an ethnically cleansed demographic.

But if you’re a wealthy land owner or businessman, the exploding numbers of people mean exploding profits, and you lobby your government to increase the supply.

But for the middle and working class whites of Dade county, they’ve been systematically driven out, and I think they resent it, and resent people calling them ‘racists’ for complaining or leaving.

“If they weren’t such racists, they immerse themselves in Miami culture’,

    https://gatorcultureshack.wordpress.com/2011/11/03/winners-of-global-culture-photo-competition-announced/little_havana-miami_florida/

and blend with the Hispanics, as indeed, many of the whites did. But for the ones who left, or sadly, languish in a place they feel alien to, it wasn’t such a great transformation.

So in short, I think it all depends on your perspective. We’re not all the same, and one man’s boon, is another man’s burden.

I already made my point – it’s in your blockquote.

One more time for the simpletons: Mr. Reed gets lots of comments on the stuff that irks the readers the most – it irks them because it’s untruthful.

If this gets him and the unz site more hits, good on ‘em.

  21. @Ron Unz

    Mr. Unz,

First, let me thank you for the Unz Review. It’s truly remarkably in today’s environment.

Naturally, with such a compliment, you know that I’m going to now disagree with you. Such is life.

To be honest, I don’t have much to add to Rurik’s comment. I believe that Rurik is spot on in questioning just how much of your particular neighborhood and life have been changed by mass immigration.

For many wealthy people, the fact that their roofers or landscaping crews are now Hispanic rather than white doesn’t matter much. Their neighborhoods are too expensive for Hispanics (or blue-collar whites), their children’s schools (assuming that they aren’t private) remain similar and their local businesses continue to cater to the same high-income white patrons who have always lived in the area.

In essence, the color of the help has changed but not much else. (Obviously, I can’t say that they is true in your particular case.)

For blue-collar white neighborhoods, this has not been the case. I’d assume that there aren’t many blue-collar white neighborhoods left in metropolitan areas in California. I know that former white working class neighborhoods in the Northern Virginia area around DC are gone, taken over by Salvadorans and Guatamalans.

Yes, whites and Mestizos get along well enough, but a community – a people – is about more than getting along. A people have a shared view of life born not just of culture but biology. (After all, culture follows biology, though over time biology can follow culture but that’s a very long-term process.)

I wish no ill will on Mestizos, but they are not my people – and I am not their people. They will create communities that suite them. But those communities will always be foreign to me and my people, just as our ways will always be foreign to them.

A nation is not a collection of disparate peoples and cultures. That’s a sad boarding house. A nation is more than its economy. A nation should be a place where a people can create their own world, a world that suits them.

Japan understands this. Israel understands this. Indeed, almost every people in the world understand this. I simply want want comes natural to all peoples on this earth: To have a home for your people.

  22. Another forgettable entry from Mexican demoralization agent Fred Reed. I gotta say, the Russian troll farms have nothing on him. When it comes to predicting gloom and doom for the USA, ain’t no one gonna out-gun Reed. He knows so much about contemporary America, reading those headlines like he does from his gated community in Ajijic. I’ve said it before but he’d be much more useful if he would do what Allan Wall does — tell us something we didn’t know about Mexico, that’s relevant to us. Of course he won’t, since his mission is not to inform, but to demoralize. And unlike Reed, Wall likes the U.S.

  23. Giuseppe says:
    @Achmed E. Newman

A close reading of Mr. Reed’s column reveals that he is only talking about race in an oblique way. What he is proposing is that the nation at one time contained many unique communities with any number of differences between them, yet somehow there was an across the board willingness of the communities to live together as one nation. He demonstrates that this historical unity has been lost and the problem is that now we actively hate each other. Furthermore, we lack a common set of values that would transcend the forces that are hurling us apart. We lack what is essential to form a nation.

  24. @Giuseppe

We lack what is essential to form a nation.

Are you sure? I’m inclined to disagree. I believe all of the components necessary to form a nation still reside within a diminishing percentage of the resident population. National unity, as an ethos, has vanished with the influx of an abundance of “diversity” — diversity sufficient to weaken, then break the ties that bind.

As long as the corrupt jackals holding power continue to prevent the re-establishment of an American nation, this condition will persist. We are a loose coalition of culture and wealth-centers, no more. The continuing, out-of-control population growth, permitted and encouraged by a cadre of oligarchs, makes for an effective, if somewhat haphazard form of social control.

It’s a lot like Orwell predicted it would be.

  25. @Ron Unz

Victor Davis Hanson paints a different picture of California, beginning with his book Mexifornia, and subsequent articles and podcasts. In fairness, he does say that California retains some strengths, particularly economic, but overall, the “portrait” is one of decline. I don’t know if Ron Unz has relatives who remember the California of the 1950s and 1960s. In general, I find people who knew that California are generally of the opinion that things have gotten worse.

  26. @Jus' Sayin'...

That’s a great anecdote. I remember my Dad saying that he remembered when you could buy a gun at a hardware store back in the 60′s, but I didn’t know they still sold them at a big-city department store as recently as the 80′s.

There probably wasn’t any background check either, right? That all started with the Brady Bill in the 90′s I think.

It seems to me that the 1990′s was when mass shootings really became “a thing” both here and abroad. The Dunblane massacre in the UK and the Port Arthur massacre in Australia were both in 1996. Columbine was the late 90′s. It was a mass shooting in 1989 and a couple of others in the early 90′s that led to the 1994 “assault weapons” ban.

These things happened on occasion before then – there was a guy who shot 13 random people in New Jersey in 1949 for example – but it’s an interesting question why it really took off in the 90′s.

Guns had been widely available and widely owned for a long time – what changed? Maybe the idea just spread through mass media? Cultural factors?

Now “active shooters” are so common that people will freak out if you brought a gun to work, unlike the pretty mild reaction of your boss at the time.

It’s also the increase in body counts. Before the 90′s when somebody “went postal” they probably had a revolver and could only shoot a few people. Now that the AR-15 has become the weapon of choice you can have 20 or even 50 people killed and many more injured.

I understand Fred Reed to be talking about succeding historical stages in the social development of the United States. He mentions three, you add a fourth:

    1. The “homogenous enough” but culturally balkanized country (e.g. Boston and tidewater Virginia); the groups were incompatible but held together by a dominant culture and shared beliefs.

    2. A cultural leveling process through improved transportation, communication, and increased power of the federal government including the Supreme Court.

    3. Chaos: ethnic, religious, political and sexual animosity and hatred; attributed to diversity.

    4. California, culturally balkanized incompatible groups held together by…somehow.

What’s interesting is that your stage 4 might be a recapitulation of Fred’s stage 1. Maybe the chaos will settle out over time, except for Christian bakers.

I wouldn’t worry about the white addicts flooding California. SoCal communities have for years earmarked money from their budgets for one way bus tickets to Seattle. Maybe the wall needs to be built on the north bank of the Columbia River.

  28. @Giuseppe

Guiseppe, my comment also wasn’t referring to race in regard to the long-term destruction of the US. I was simply stating that if you really are thinking about bugging out, Uruguay, being the whitest country south of the Rio Grand, hell, make that Nebraska, is a good suggestion for you. Being 90% white does not guarantee things are run well, but it’s much more likely they are. That’s why I really want to check it out.

The rest of your comment makes me remember what I liked the most about this Fred Reed column, and I will write another one about it.

  29. Sunbeam says:
    @Ron Unz

Maybe your time running a site like this is over, and your belief system has changed. That happens.

But you have a built in dichotomy with the readers that visit this site. I’d wager most (and I’m one) would be very happy to either have California secede, or kicked out of the Union. Right after carving New California out of it.

I’m familiar with your arguments, and understand what you are saying. But not interested in it at all, and you haven’t made an argument sufficient to make me question anything.

If you shut down this site, and I have to go elsewhere to read the columnists I want to, that’s just the way it is.

One other thing I want to say. I really don’t think you understand something. Once upon a time, California was cool. Full of hot women, the music came from there, etc.

That’s gone. I have personal antipathy and loathing for California. I even dislike seeing Californians move to other states – they are well known for bringing their value system with them and trying to recreate what they are leaving. Hell with them. Stay in that shithole, then we can get rid of it.

Yeah, I was going to mention V.D. Hanson myself, but I was holding off on arguing with Mr. Unz on this one. I don’t have the kind of patience that Mr. Rurik and C.o.a.S.C. have – kudos to both of you!

California is in major cultural decline and the economic decline has not become epic yet, as beautiful real estate like that coupled with foreign, partially-dirty money, and reputations take a long time to ruin. There is a lot of ruin in a nation (cont’d here and here ), and California is as big as a nation.

As far as the 1950′s and ’60′s, man, I had the same thoughts. California had this huge prosperous white middle class then, like perhaps has never been seen anywhere elsewhere in history. Now, there are the few rich, some from computer-tech, some foreign dirty money, and others just drawing down the wealth at the beach. The rest are working their asses off or mooching off those workers. – it’s getting close to a 3rd-world operation, which, in my(?) definition means no significant middle class.

Ron, you live in a Paradise Lost. It would make me undersand you more if you’d answer the question of whether you’d rather live in 1950′s “American Graffiti” California or in 2010′s “hell, I don’t watch any new movies” California.

All my arguments aside, as the others have said, and it bears repeating, this is one hell of a well-run web-site, bug-free and superb usability with very good (the Commies excepted) content.

  31. @Sunbeam

I submitted my comment before I read yours, Sunbeam. One big DITTO on that!

Try my “Paradise Lost” link above. It’s The Dead that said it best, and this was written during the Golden years of the Golden State:

“California, preaching on the burning shore.
California, I’ll be knocking on the golden door,
like an angel, standing in a shaft of light,
rising up to paradise, I know I’m gonna shine.”

  32. Renoman says:

If Fred was President the World would be a far better place, Go Fred!

  33. I’m finally getting to this. Mr. Reed, your writing about mid-20th century America rings very true. Though I may have been a coupla decades behind you, there was still so much freedom when I was a kid. It’s much easier for people to let freedom flourish when they can trust each other. They can trust each other when they are, or at least a large majority are, of the same type of people. The Rudyard Kipling poem quoted by Mr. Rurik says it very well. (I wish I’d understood him in high school as my English teacher wanted us too – they’d never even be able to show that peom today – that’s what’s changed!)

See we had lots of diversity, as Fred wrote, but not in the way the Globalists, Commies, cntrl-left have been pushing here for 1/2 a century want it. Back in Fred’s good times, the South was Southern (capital “S”‘s), California was it’s own wacky but still mostly conservative self (see above), the Midwest was solid-conservative white, New England did things their way, and in-your-face NYC was for people who wouldn’t even fit in in California, I guess. If you don’t fit in down in the South, well, just move when you grow up – pick your “country”. That’s real, unforced diversity.

Diversity, as it’s understood and ENFORCED now, means mixing people up with a damn blender and forcing them to have to get along with each other, with less understanding and more antagonism. Oh, except when you get completely diverse like 90% black or 90% Hispanic or 90% Chinese. That’s OK too, apparently … This is what gets white people wondering what the word really means ….

To Californians, all British people look and talk like they are gay, so ….*

(I was pretty sure you are from England, right Jonathan? You can’t be from the South, if you call it the “southeast” and if you have no knowledge of guns, as I remember.)

    * OK, that was written in fun.

  37. Excellent column. Of course having a conservative orientation is all about appreciation of aspects of life in the past that should not necessarily be thrown away.

I grew up in Britain, but I cannot go back, because the country I knew no longer exists. I still have a great attachment to the landscape and scenery which I will never experience in Florida.

People who grew up in the US 50 years ago lived in a country that no longer exists and will never come back. The worst aspect, as Fred says is the increasing lack of cultural and geographic diversity, but I think one of the main reasons for this is that corporations have spread their tentacles everywhere, and you can get the same lousy hamburger in Alaska or Key West.

At the same time there is no law enforcement now .

Illegal immigrants come in and get jobs at will. Only this morning I received a phone message from a scammer saying that the IRS has a warrant for my arrest for tax delinquency. T-Mobile apparently knows this is a “Scam Likely” call, but the people make these calls to prey on vulnerable or impaired individuals seem to operate with impunity while the FBI is farting about investigating Russian Facebook posters.

The most recent Florida school shooter was reported to the FBI recently as a prospective school shootist, but apparently they are so overwhelmed with similar calls that they just yawned and went back to investigating Russians who live in Russia. Pathetic.

Trump did right to fire Comey, but he should have gone further and disbanded the FBI and replaced it with an effective national police force.

  38. JustJeff says:
    @Loveofknowledge

The majority of those shooters fit a profile: young, alienated, isolated men. The 90’s were 30 years, a full generation, after the 60’s. These young, alienated, isolated men were raised by baby boomers who either overthrew the “oppressive” dominant WASP culture or came of age while that was happening. The result of that was the next couple generations grow up rootless with no sense of identity, no community to belong to, and no guidance. The mass shootings are the result.

Well, I’m much too busy with my software work to get drawn into a totally fruitless debate, so this will probably have to be my last comment here.

Over the years, I’ve published articles totaling hundreds of thousands of words on immigration-related issues, quite possibly more than just about any other writer in America, and with a special focus on California, so if those don’t convince people—and they surely won’t!—a few more comments are hardly likely to a difference. For anyone interested, here are links to a couple of them:

Also, as I’ve pointed out, the evidence is that the overwhelming majority of whites in California generally agree with me. Ironically enough, that might even include a regular commenter here calling herself “Alden,” a hard-core White Nationalist who has been living in this state for at least the last 45 years or so. For example, here’s an amusing comment she left a few weeks ago:

    http://www.unz.com/article/blackness-as-disability/#comment-2193347

We’re down to only 7.5 blacks thanks be to God. It’s amazing how life in the cities has improved since the Asians and Hispanics have dispersed them.

The Hispanic police are even allowed to arrest them without fear of a Ferguson style uprising.

Talk to Brenda Walker of VDare, who also has lived in California a long time. She has written blog posts specifically about the human factors of the immigration invasion, along with the environmental factors (CA being the most beautiful state on the whole) numbering about 4,000*.

I’ve read most of them, so I believe I’ll go with her opinion, along with my impression, having lived there for a while. I have dealt with very educated people in a technical field while I lived there. One good friend was from deepest S. America, and he was one smart cookie. His friends and my other friends from foreign lands were smart cookies, too. That’s 0.1 % or something, Ron, of the whole mass of (in particular) Hispanic foreigners. It’s easy to get caught up in that high-level world, thinking we are all smart, making lots of money and getting along just peachy. No, Fred is very truthful in his words here.

I’d be good if Miss Alden wrote in here, but from my readings of her comments, I don’t see how this post about dispersing the blacks means she agrees with you that we’re going to all get along still.
    .
    .

    * VDare had 410 pages of her posts, with 10 posts/page – go to “Writers” –> “Brenda Walker” By the way, that adds to much more than 100,000 words, right, as I don’t think she averaged 25 words/pop – more like a coupla hundred, though she does tend to leave large blockquotes without a rebuttal.

  41. @Jonathan Mason

… he should have gone further and disbanded the FBI and replaced it with an effective national police force.

Yeah, may as well get rid of the whole damn Constitution, as far as we’ve trashed it already, huh, Mason?

You said you left England because your country no longer esists. How about you quit trying to put our original country out of existence? This reminds me exactly of the Californians that move to Washington state, Idaho and Texas to get out of the crap that they’ve caused – then they vote for the same shit they did back in Cali.

Did they not go over the US Constitution in your citizenship class, Mr. Mason, or did you cheat on the test like the rest of ‘em? Note: There is not even supposed to be a standing army, much less a National freakin’ Police Force.

    You have to go back.

  42. Sunbeam says:

“Also, as I’ve pointed out, the evidence is that the overwhelming majority of whites in California generally agree with me. ”

Ah, but there’s the rub. You see, I’d rather the overwhelming majority of whites in California were in the separate nation of California.

What they believe, what they are selling, I ain’t buying. There is no kinship, no bond, no loyalty between them and me.

Obviously that statement means nothing to you. But if sufficient numbers of people also share it, then who knows what happens?

Personally I think long term California is a majority hispanic/asian region, with Chinese pretty much running everything.

Tell me Unz, if you are still following this thread. Do whites stay in an area that becomes predominantly Asian? Or do they decamp and move to Portland or Texas? I know the kids don’t like the way schools turn out, but how do their parents feel about living in an area that is mostly Asian (and heck we know we are talking about Chinese)?

Do they vote with their feet?

Really don’t know, wish one of you guys living it would fill me in on how it works out in the real world. Will they live long term in a place where everyone on the block is Chinese except them, or will they stick it out? I mean the whole crime and run down area thing, decline in property values won’t happen. So do they still bug out when a puke point is reached?

  43. @Responder111

There is a solution but you won’t like it. When I was younger, my brother an I played with blocks seeing how high we can make the tower before it came down. A little tweak here and there. But eventually it did come down and we started over with a better plan. Our society, like some houses, needs to be razed to the ground vs. simple renovation. Once we are down to the foundation again we can attempt to implement a better plan. But one concept that simply HAS to be included in the new constitution is term limits. A clip I saw the other day on YouTube: You can’t vote them in if you can’t vote them out. Our politicians lend an unfortunate level of credence to the phrase, The best politicians money can buy. When you have career criminals like Pelosi and Schumer working against America for decades what recourse do the rank and file have against organized criminal trash like that? Maybe we will be balkanized. But this diversification, coming at the expense of the European founding class, isn’t the answer. As has been said, There’s a reason gorillas, chimps and bonobos do not live together.

I have repeatedly said in columns posted on the Review that in California, Texas, Chicago, and DC, Latinos–I don’t like that word– Mexicans and “Anglos” get along well and that for various reasons I think can do so more as time goes by. California is not West Virginia or Tennessee or rural Tidewater Virginia. Comments on the Review, and on my own site which is not nearly as racial, and the large support for The Wall, and Trump’s election, suggest that California’s laid-back approach is not universal. Ventura Blvd. is not Beale Street. Queens and Silicon Valley are not America, but only part of it. I have learned, over some years now I guess of posting on the Review, that if I want to get four hundred mostly angry comments, all I have to do is say, “Mexicans ain’t bad folk.” I hope, and believe, that Mexicans can assimilate to, or accommodate to, America. But if most agreed with me, or close enough to most, we would not have the dispute over DACA.

But if most agreed with me, or close enough to most, we would not have the dispute over DACA.”

But what duty does anyone even have to try this experiment?

Was the US a pretty nice place with the sub 200 million pop of your youth, or the around 200 million of your young adulthood?

Also you personally have made the statement that it is effectively impossible to build the wall. But if you look around the world, these things are constructed all the time.

Or that it is impossible to make the people that illegally entered go home. Yet there are tons of examples worldwide from recent history where that kind of thing has been done.

Granted, usually it’s pretty draconian like when all the Germans from East Prussia wound up having to relocate in a hurry at the end of WWII. You might have an argument that the US isn’t willing to do such a thing. Maybe. But impossible?

“Gauleiter Erich Koch protracted the evacuation of the German civilian population until the Eastern Front approached the East Prussian border in 1944. The population had been systematically misinformed by Endsieg Nazi propaganda about the real state of military affairs. As a result, many civilians fleeing westward were overtaken by retreating Wehrmacht units and the rapidly advancing Red Army.

Reports of Soviet atrocities in the Nemmersdorf massacre of October 1944 and organized rape spread fear and desperation among the civilians. Thousands lost their lives during the sinkings (by Soviet submarine) of the refugee ships Wilhelm Gustloff, the Goya, and the General von Steuben. Königsberg surrendered on 9 April 1945, following the desperate four-day Battle of Königsberg. The number of civilians killed is estimated to be at least 300,000.

However, most of the German inhabitants, which then consisted primarily of women, children and old men, did manage to escape the Red Army as part of the largest exodus of people in human history: “A population which had stood at 2.2 million in 1940 was reduced to 193,000 at the end of May 1945.”[17][18]
    .
    .
    .
Shortly after the end of the war in May 1945, Germans who had fled in early 1945 tried to return to their homes in East Prussia. An estimated number of 800,000 Germans were living in East Prussia during the summer of 1945.[19] Many more were prevented from returning,[citation needed] and the German population of East Prussia was almost completely expelled by the communist regimes. During the war and for some time thereafter 45 camps were established for about 200,000-250,000 forced labourers, the vast majority of whom were deported to the Soviet Union, including the Gulag camp system.[20] The largest camp with about 48,000 inmates was established at Deutsch Eylau (Iława).[20] Orphaned children who were left behind in the zone occupied by the Soviet Union were referred to as Wolf children.
    .
    .
    .
After the expulsion of the German population ethnic Russians, Belarusians, and Ukrainians were settled in the northern part. In the Soviet part of the region, a policy of eliminating all remnants of German history was pursued. All German place names were replaced by new Russian names. The exclave was a military zone, which was closed to foreigners; Soviet citizens could only enter with special permission. In 1967 the remnants of Königsberg Castle were demolished on the orders of Leonid Brezhnev to make way for a new “House of the Soviets”.”

Nothing special about this. Not even something specific to the Russians. Just a common happening in world history. -As you well know.

And since this is a relatively obscure bit of historical trivia now, tell me who’d give a flaming f*#k in fifty years? Assuming the US just forcibly sent about 30 million people back south of the border (though it really wouldn’t be necessary).

And just as a side thought, the US is definitely hypocritical. But in the end we really weren’t hardasses. As Pax Americana and European influence finally lets loose of the reins for good, people are going to look back and kind of think they never had it so good when “things get back to normal.”

I don’t think either of you 2 guys get the gist of the problem. Whether we get along reasonably well or not, whether there are lots more drunk driving deaths or not (pretty sure, yes) and whether the environment is gonna come out worse for the wear (no doubt), there’s one more thing people don’t like. We did not want to live in Mexico!

I have quite a few things in my mind that right now that I think may be better in Mexico, and lots that I don’t. If I wanted to live in old Mexico, like you, Mr. Reed, I’d have moved there. Right now, in many areas of America, I may as well be in Mexico, as people make the country. We did not ask for this.

You are disingenuous in stating that you get all those comments when you say “Mexicans ain’t bad folk”. That’s half of it – you say (to paraphrase) “Mexicans ain’t bad folk, and you people are bad people for trying to keep them out of your country or send illegally-entered ones home.” (No, not on the same damn day, so let’s not get into that – neither of us is General Patton).

OT, but anyway… In 1969, I took a bus trip from Charlotte to LA, mainly because I was told that there were jobs in LA. I met a guy on the bus in El Paso, he said he was Chicano (nobody says that anymore) and we talked. He invited me to come stay with him and his mom and brother in Long Beach while I looked for a job.

Anyway, I stayed in their pool house for about a week, His family was middle class, and the neighbors on both sides were white and also middle class. There were no gangs around there and everybody was pretty friendly except his little brother who was an asshole.

I wasn’t in California long, I traveled up the highway to Sacramento and back down, never finding a good enough job to make me want to stay. Anyway, the California that I saw then must be gone now. What I read about it now sounds like hell on earth compared to what I saw when I was there in ’69.

I have learned, over some years now I guess of posting on the Review, that if I want to get four hundred mostly angry comments, all I have to do is say, “Mexicans ain’t bad folk.”

Fred, I say this as someone who has enjoyed your writings for more than a decade. Indeed, I have learned much for you and consider you an extraordinarily bright and worldly person. However, on this point, I will be clear and forthright: You are a liar.

And, yes, I mean this in the sense that once led to pistols at dawn. I mean to challenge you. I mean to call you out in front of others. You, sir, are a liar.

If you – who can run rings around me intellectually – can’t see the strawman argument that you have created, I pity you. We all have blind spots, but when those blinds spots no longer allow you to discern up for down, they become a problem.

I will fully acknowlege that your monthly articles about the wonderfulness of Hispanic immigration – always accompanied by the picture of an oddly European-looking, pretty Mexican girl – do, in fact, invite disgusting and unnecessary comments about your adopted family. (While not a very good fighter in high school or at the local boxing club, I’d be more than happy to be at your side if we could encounter any of these people in person. I don’t think that bring up your potential motives is wrong, but to attack your loved ones is inexcusible.)

That being said, your “Mexicans are Great” and “alt-righters are a bunch racists idiots” are a hair’s breadth from anything that you’d read in the WaPo. You seem unable to comprehend that a large portion of European-Americans might not want Mexicans to move into their neighborhoods, state or country because we simply want to maintain our people and culture. Do I have to hate someone to not want them to move into my house?

You never seem to direct your vitriol toward Jews in Israel for not wanting to import people – good or bad. The same holds true for the Japanese and many other peoples.

I don’t hate Mexicans or other peoples from Central and South America. They generally seem like decent folk. But they are not my folk. Simple as that. Yet, you seem determined to twist that desire to live among your own – a desire shared by all peoples of this planet – into something that it is not, something sinister and ignorant.

Despite your love of talking up your cracker boyhood, in these twilight years, you act more the plantation owner, looking down on the poor whites who are losing their livelihood because you need land for your help.

In the California prison system, Hispanics and whites do indeed get along with each other better than either does with blacks. According to my (white) stepson, who has spent several months of his life inside, all three of those racial groups maintain a rigid separation from each other, enforced by the inmates themselves. But whenever things break down into an all-out riot, the Hispanics side with the whites against the blacks.

  54. Hacienda says:
    @Ron Unz

LOL. Ron, I have to agree with you with your observations of California, except with your idea that
housing is overpriced. Los Angeles real estate is actually only about 2 – 3x more expensive than Indianapolis per sq.ft. Indianapolis and Indiana is a kind of Christian whitopia. I’ve lived a considerable amount of time in both places. Who wouldn’t want Dan Quayle, Mike Pence as neighbors, after all. Sheesh.

If John Smith prefers to live in relatively cheap but beautiful mansion with white neighbors in Indiana, he can trade his California tiny square tract house for one. There are hundreds of like places all over the US. Yet, whites stubbornly refuse to leave California. Why is that? The real problem is the housing barrier to entry into California. Hard to enter, easy to leave. Social grievances typically follow economic ones.

BTW, when I’m down, there’s nothing that picks me up quite like heading to the surrounding cities of Los Angeles like Lancaster or even Hemet. To drop into a McDonalds and to be greeted by smiling Hispanic and black teenagers who seem to be genuinely happy, not the surly variety you find in the Midwest is a jolt. That’s a thing in Californa.

    Here’s an alternative perspective.

Since 1990, there’s been a net outflow of 3 million Americans from California. This is especially surprising when you consider that the state offers sunny year-round weather, world class beaches, majestic natural scenery, a solid university system, amazing entertainment options, and perhaps the best standard of living in the United States.

Why would so many people leave a paradise like California?

I’d argue that they were fleeing the negative social and economic impact that immigration was having on their state. Over the last quarter century, a substantial number of anti-immigration Californians left and went to other states. Those who stayed were likely disproportionately those who were comfortable with the changes. There’s also been an influx of domestic migrants who are fairly pro-immigration.

One more factor to consider is many people are social conformist and, at least in public, will say whatever the media/political elites tell them to say. If you’re a politically apathetic Californian whose state has been taken over by pro-immigration forces, you might just go along to avoid bringing social ostracism on yourself. Especially if you’ve seen anti-immigration Californians flee the state, you might conclude that immigration restrictionists are “on the wrong side of history.”

My point is that present-day Californians are a self-selected group of individuals. There’s been substantial population sorting over the last few decades. So when you say that most Californians are fairly comfortable with immigration, that doesn’t include many people who have left. If you polled every American whose state residence was California in 1990 (including those who’ve left and excluding those who arrived post-1990), there’d be much more anti-immigration sentiment.

Let’s say I became the dictator of small, conservative town in rural Utah. Then I imported many gay men and made our town into a gay nightclub mecca. The local residents might resist, but many would just leave with time. Many residents would stay, but these would likely be those who are more liberal on gay issues. Some of these might even make money off gays by building nightclubs and opening fashion boutiques. There also would likely be many progressives who’d move in, drawn in by the pro-gay cultural atmosphere. So after many decades, the average local town resident might become very pro-gay. However, that sentiment would reflect population sorting rather than Mormons learning to love homosexuality.

So Fred Reed says that a dominant culture is what holds a nation together, and diversity is it’s undoing.
Ron Unz says California has a lot of diversity, a white minority, but it’s not falling apart, quite the contrary.

The French philosophers and historians of the 19th century thought a lot about these kinds of questions. Using Switzerland and its four major ethnic groups as an example, Ernest Renan said that what constitutes a nation is the willingness of its members to live together.

That is where Fred went wrong, in the assumption that a dominant culture kept the country together. If things are falling apart, it is because there is a loss of willingness to live together.

This idea transcends the discussion of diversity and dominant culture. This idea of willingness is profound, and is not to be compared with the namely-pamby globalism found these days.

Wikipedia notes Renan begins his essay What Is a Nation? by noting that there is frequent confusion between the idea of nationhood and of racial or linguistic groupings, a form of confusion which he says can produce “the gravest errors”. He promises to conduct an autopsy-like examination, “in an absolutely cold and impartial fashion.”

…Obviously, the state does have major problems, and many of these are indeed heavily immigration-related.

Fred Reed in this interesting article correctly characterizes pre-1960′s life in the USA, but misidentifies the cohesive principle in a nation. This cohesive principle lies not in having a dominant culture, rather it is the willingness of its members to live together.

This willingness to live together is an organic process within the nation, from the bottom up.

Diversity and globalization are policies dictated by the federal government, they are top down, and the unity they purport to engender is nauseatingly fake.

What Fred is describing is a gradual change over the last 70 years. National cohesion was eroded as the state gained power and became dominant over the nation.

It’s arguable that there isn’t a single dominant culture in California. What Ron Unz could be describing is the emergence of a new Californian national consciousness, as members exercise their volition to live together. That they do this in defiance of the federal state is manifest in their peculiar politics, e.g., sanctuary, talk of secession, voting patterns, etc.

That’s a perfectly reasonable hypothesis, but the actual evidence is overwhelmingly against it. Here are a couple of paragraphs from one of my articles mentioned above:

This can be seen in the details of the most recent [2010] California election cycle. As the only statewide Republican officeholder and a wealthy Silicon Valley entrepreneur, Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner was assumed to have a lock on his party’s gubernatorial nomination and naturally attracted the support of all major segments of the GOP apparatus. But then former eBay CEO Meg Whitman, an utter political neophyte but with a billion-dollar fortune, decided to enter the race and immediately became the darling of the party’s mercenary establishment, given the bottomless funds she promised to spend on her campaign. Outmatched financially, Poizner was forced to refocus on right-wing primary voters, and as a highly opportunistic fellow, he decided to ride the national tidal wave of anti-immigration fears then sweeping across the country and make it the centerpiece of his campaign, eventually spending $25 million of his own money on the effort.

The result was that he lost the primary by 40 points. When you run as an immigration hard-liner, spend $25 million on your race, and lose by 40 points among the hard-core conservatives who dominate Republican primaries, you’re clearly selling the dog food that dogs just won’t eat. These days, anti-immigration candidacies in California possess about as much resonance as anti-papist candidacies in Massachusetts.

Since 1990, there’s been a net outflow of 3 million Americans from California…I’d argue that they were fleeing the negative social and economic impact that immigration was having on their state.

Sure, immigration has certainly been an important factor, but not so much due to the “diversity” factors that Fred had been suggesting.

As I’d discussed in my original comment, decades of heavy immigration have hugely increased housing costs and crowding, while simultaneously reducing the wages of blue-collar workers. These combined economic forces greatly reduced the standard of living for much of the middle-class and especially working-class, often pushing them out of the state. Basically, when younger Californians saw there was absolutely no way they could buy the sort of house or live the sort of lifestyle their parents had enjoyed, they often moved away to other, much cheaper states. In fact, over the last decade, there’s been a substantial outflow of working-class California Hispanics to Arizona, Georgia, and elsewhere for exactly similar reasons.

An unrelated but very significant factor was the total collapse of the huge aerospace industry in Southern California in the early 1990s, leading to a similar economic exodus of all those middle-class workers.

Furthermore, as I discuss very extensively in my articles, the absolutely unprecedented speed and magnitude of California’s racial transformation certainly alarmed large portions of the white population at the time, leading to the massive political agitation and racial controversy of the 1990s. I’m absolutely sure that these sentiments significantly contributed to the white exodus of that period, though I really do believe that the economic pressures were much more important. However, those fears and concerns peaked 20-odd years ago, and have been almost totally forgotten for at least the last decade or two. Anyone who claims otherwise is just being ridiculous.

Consider the point that Hacienda so astutely made upthread, which I’ve also been raising for many years. One of California’s greatest problems is that housing is so absurdly expensive compared to everywhere else in the country. Now consider the case of some middle-aged white Californian, who owns his home because he or his family bought it decades ago, long before prices went crazy. If he really hated California’s “diversity” or were actually concerned about being a member of the 35% white minority, he could easily sell his small tract house and use the money to buy a huge fancy house or even a near-mansion almost anywhere else in the country, including places that are almost entirely white. Such a relocation would be very easy if he were retired or if he had an ordinary-type job (obviously people working in Hollywood or Silicon Valley would face more employment difficulties in leaving).

Frankly, all the various California-based anti-immigrant bloggers or pundits who persuade gullible people around the country that things are really bad here, but who stubbornly refuse to sell their small house for a huge fortune and then move away to some 90% white state remind me of that old joke:

“The food at that cafe is absolutely disgusting, dreadful, horrible. And the staff is sometimes rude when I ask them for second-helpings almost every day…”

    “anti Marxism in any guise”

Excessive and dated concerns about economic Marxism are one of the reasons why identity politics is so strong in the West. The mainstream right has focused on winning economic battles (like free trade and lower taxes for the rich) and has surrendered the cultural sphere to the liberal left. If the right shifted left on some economic issues it could regain ground on social issues like immigration. Similarly, when the left is pushed further to the left on economic issues it loses much of its urban white collar support. When the right shifts further to the right on economic issues we get yuppie-friendly centre-left leaders like Tony Blair and Bill Clinton, who lay the ground work for mass immigration surges.

  67. In my opinion, there never was a homogeneous USA culture, no melting pot, but stew.
All the cultures still were there, separated from each other, as I discovered when asking for directions in a small Iowan town, for a locally well known person, ‘he did not know’, and the address was a well known place.
I later discovered that the catholic and the protestant parts lived separately, I had asked in the cathlolic part for the protestant part.
But, in the USA, as in 17th century Holland, until say 1960 is the Netherlands, the protestants dominated the country.
With us, as the Iowan town, north of the rivers protestants, south, catholics.
Since hardly anyone goes to church any more the differences are blurred, the catholic political party even fused with the two main protestant parties.
But nowadays political tensions are escalating, those for the open society, diversity, etc., against those who want to retain our culture.

But DACA is largely misunderstood — it’s an amnesty program and the current executive caved like a cheap suit on that issue. Becoming a citizen should be tough and I don’t much care about the whining of how tough it is — the tougher the better. It’s hard to comprehend any citizen who supports undermining his fellows for a dollar or a single vote more. It’s just a strange ethnic for any citizen to have and support for our current immigration practices is just that – undermining a citizen on behalf of foreigners — gets a no vote from every time. That includes the nonsense about merit and high IQ’s. It’s high IQ leadership that made the country we live in today. it’s hard to imagine a foreigner with a High IQ not supporting more of the same — in the name of merit and high IQ.

Maybe what the country needs is a moderate IQ with some sound policy proposals that first ensure the US remains the US. We have more diversity than we know what to with at the moment. Te melting pot, needs to melt — before adding any more fruits and vegetables.

Ron—don’t want to distract you from your software work, but I think you might be missing something about Alden’s sentiments and ‘revealed’ preferences. Some speculation on my part (I don’t know her), but this is likely why she and others stay:

If it’s true Alden’s been in California for 45+ years, it has become her home. She is rooted there, even though invaders and traitors have since changed the character of the state for the worse, minus some ameliorative displacement of black criminals. She formerly stated she’s in her seventies, and doesn’t sound like the type to completely cede territory. I’m sure there’s much that remains in the specific physical environment of the place that has continued resonance in Alden’s memory and psyche, not to mention possible friends and family that one can’t just simply abandon.

I think white liberals are the ones who make diversity extremely intolerable. Contrary to what it seems, they’re the ones who created this volatile culture of outrage and witch hunts, minorities are just taking advantage of it.

I can generally get along with “racist” or tribalist people, white or otherwise, as long as we maintain politeness towards each other. There’s kind of an understanding that we all have our own identity interests, and not to step on each other’s toes. It’s the white leftists who are moral totalitarians. They want you deplatformed, shamed, or even eliminated if you’re not down with radical egalitarianism.

An essay by Amy Wax in a recent issue of the Wall Street Journal’s Weekend in Review reveals not just the insanity of this mess, but how utterly desperate and hopeless it is. In it she recounts the response of a large number of her colleagues at the University of Pennsylvania School of Law to an op ed she wrote suggesting that students and professors at American colleges and universities should stop calling people horrible names when they don’t like what they say. “Be rational, not emotional” to paraphrase in a nutshell was her point. For this outrage (so obvious as to be banal a couple of decades ago), her colleagues at one of the country’s top law schools want her fired for being a Nazi, a Klansman (she’s a Jew), and of course, a racist. Her dean wanted her to go on sabbatical for a year. She was pulled from teaching a first-year course. We’ve been transported back to the Soviet Union in the 1930s.

The “Manhattan Department Store” was Abercrombie & Fitch. My grandfather bought his Mannlicher there, and my father took me there for my first “grown up” shotgun, 38th & Park IIRC.
I recall stopping in Manhattan to see my girlfriend in the late 60′s. I was carrying my shotgun, in a typical gun sheath, cover. It was late at night, no cab would stop, and I had to walk from the old East Side air terminal up to 68th Street. No cops bothered me. I recall seeing a tiny man “assaulting” a rather large woman(?), until she(?) KO’d him with a right cross.

Businesses were mostly owned locally with few chains run from remote corporate offices.”

There probably wasn’t any background check either, right? That all started with the Brady Bill in the 90′s I think.

Yep. The 1990s under Clinton was when the modern era of gun control really took off. New York had been ultra-restrictive with regard to handguns for a century, but pretty much left long guns alone. In the 1970s New York City started to require registration of all long guns, and in the 1990s began banning guns and magazines outright.

Clinton implemented a national ban on hi-cap mags, and began to suppress the importation of surplus Com Bloc guns. I remember in the 1990s you could buy an unissued AK-47 still in cosmoline for $195.

The Brady Bill and the background check thing is a real problem, though. For the first time in American history you had to get clearance from the government before you could exercise a constitutionally-guaranteed right… effectively rendering it a “privilege.”

The issue is what kind of assimilation by Mexicans to what specifically?

I assert that WASP culture -first the original British Empire version and then the Yankee version -
played an indispensable role in ruining Mexico. The more that is the case, then the more that Mexicans assimilate to Yank WASP culture, including its various Protestantisms, the more that Mexicans become part of the problem.

The true WASP at heart always has been, and always will be, a self-righteous imperialist, whose fruits invariably are liberal even when the specific WASP thinks they are the essence of cultural conservatism and intends them to be conservative. Most white people who lived in America in, say, 1870 or 1960, even those who were devout Anglicans or Evangelicals and of nothing but British Isles ancestry, were not actively such. But their Elites were, and the bedrock of the culture was. That’s what antebellum Southerners meant when they talked about (descendants of) Puritans as vicious meddlers who could not rest until they forced their ways on others.

Anglo-Saxon Puritanism was a Judaizing heresy. Its fruits, including its secular ones, will always be liberal, always be something that inverts and implodes whatever is left of Christendom.

Brimelow and Derbyshire are rather standard ‘conservative’ WASP self-identifiers. Their historic WASP prejudices are deep, and they usually remain blind to them as even existing. They hate the idea of large numbers of Mexicans for the same reason they like the Know-Nothings. They certainly seem incapable of discerning that the more truly WASP – truly Anglo-Saxon and Puritanical in source and spirit – an Anglophone local culture is, the more it will be self-righteously aggressive, demanding that others bow to it and become like it beliefs and expressions, in actions and attitudes.

The above is all you need to be able to grasp how antebellum Southern culture was intensely localist, while since at least the WW2 we have seen Southern culture become identified with American exceptionalist puritanism. In the antebellum South, you had cultural leaders who either were Normans, the kind of Normans who did not want anyone confusing them with actual Anglo-Saxons, or else Scots-Irish like Andrew Jackson, who hated the British Empire and whose every cultural expression marked him to the true WASP as being as intolerable as an Irish Catholic.

Mexicans who assimilate to WASP culture will be new brownish foot soldiers in the Invade the World/Invite the World march of self-righteous American WASP globalism. They will be new pawns for the Anglo-Zionist Empire, which began with Oliver Cromwell and his alliance with Jews in order to keep warring to exterminate non-WASP white Christian cultures.

He has no memory of the 1950s, ’60s, and early ’70s when California was the epitome of coolness and hot California girls, the place that attracted first the Beats, then the hippies, the place where you went to create great music, the place where it was possible to live a bohemian lifestyle whether in the North Beach, Haight-Ashbury, Venice Beach or Sunset Strip, without feeling indigent. The population was 20-25 million, not today’s 40 million which is outrageous for a state that’s earthquake-prone and perenially drought-stricken. Finally, it was a state that was best educated in the country and one of the richest on a per capita basis. Most of the legitimate complaints found by the various peanut galleries in exhibit here would resolve themselves with a restoration of robust federalism; one means of achieving that would be to reform state level powers upward to a smaller number of larger regions who could hold their own against one another, against oligarchy, against PC and weak-willed, weak-spine corporate-capitalists and against the federal government, and which can form mutually beneficial alliances on the (seemingly forgotten) basis of “I’ll let you be your way, and defend you being your way, if you let me be my way, and defend the same”. However, while great swaths of people can live together socially because the overwhelming majority is law abiding and contributes something to their and their family’s welfare, would you disagree that a higher level of cultural cohesion is going to by nature lead to a much stabler society?

I don’t think that I am overstating when saying that culture itself is a product of peoples and peoples can only exist within ethnic, racial, socioeconomic, intellectual, and regional boundaries, that differ enormously (obviously). If you are going to try to homogenize these differences to strengthen a people (not withstanding any “cultural” difference) wouldn’t it have to be under an umbrella of a mono-culture? One law, one morality, one “story” as it were?

    A bunch of disconnected thoughts…

Ethnic diversity may be OK if there is some larger unifying principle. But there needs to be a unifying principle.

The unifying principle in America is making money – I don’t know if this is enough.

Ethnic diversity came just when we got rid of every other unifying principle, so it’s hard to generalize from our current situation and say that it always causes strife.

The “master idea” of modern culture seems to be breaking down larger units into smaller pieces – reductionism. It worked well in science. It doesn’t seem to work so well socially.

Ethnic diversity, no unifying principle, and individualism – all part of the same phenomena. Just the working out of reductionism, and it comes from science.

Was reading Zweig on the collapse of the Hapsburg Empire – he shows how as the empire weakened, different ethnic groups had to learn to see themselves primarily in terms of ethnicity. Before they saw themselves merely as Austrians. When that broke down, they searched for a new principle to identify with.

Nationalism inevitably leads to war, and eventually imperialism. We are lying to ourselves if we don’t admit this. However, without nationalism, factions war with each other inside states.

In other words, “external” nationalism gets replaced by multiple “internal” nationalisms. War between nations gets replaced by war within them.

The ideal of peace is an illusion. We will have war one way or another. Either war between nations with strong nationalisms or violence between social factions within society.

The utopian dream of solving war between states by abolishing nationalism simply recreated the pattern of violence within societies.

Some may say we should abolish nationalism while keeping out immigrants – but that is impossible. Immigration is an inevitable consequence of abolishing nationalism.

There may be no political solution to the problem of human violence, and life is inherently tragic. We are doomed to unending strife and war, and the best we can hope for are intervals of peace. We are an incurably violent species.

Abolishing nationalism in a world where other groups don’t, merely makes you prey. It does not “convert” others to your wonderful way of life.

The world is poised to return to earlier levels of violence, and Pinker is a fool.

Globalists are Jews, wherever they may be, plus their dupes and hired help. Whatever Gentile elites may be involved can be classified under “Dupes”, as they mistakenly believe that the Jews intend to share power/oxygen once White Gentiles have been substantively dispossessed.

  129. Born in 1928 I suppose I could call myself a member of the Greatest Generation. There is a class of people I would say deserve that appellation. Such as the Rangers who stormed the beaches of Normandy and assailed the German forces under withering fire that would blanch the average person into blithering idiocy. And many others comparable with the Rangers who fought the good fight on the far flung battlefields of WWII. These men were in a class by themselves. But since those days there has been a withering of the spirit of the men and women who although living during that time period I would not classify as deserving to be called part of the Greatest Generation. Over the past decades, say starting with the 1970s, we old folks have taken advantage of a Legislature only too willing to pass out benefits and entitlements in exchange for permanent occupancy of the seats they occupy. This has not gone unnoticed by the Baby Boomers, Gen Xers and the Millenials and the resentment, although not overt, boils beneath the surface. It is a fact that the people over sixty-five have considerably more wealth than those under that age. Just another example of potential class warfare and combined with the other forms of warfare we face, does not bode well for the future.

So it is, ninety years after my birth I have to look back to my past to give comfort to my soul. The kind of life Fred lived as a youth I lived in spades, a not always carefree life as work still had to be done by hands that were old enough to do work, but there was so much excitement and adventure to be taken advantage of. As so many posters have noted those days are gone forever. The changes that have taken place especially in the area of technology are mind-boggling. There will be immense changes in the not too distant future that I will not be around to see. My greatest fear is there will be an erosion of freedom that will grow worse with time. Do not let that happen.

  131. “Diversity” is an Orwellian term and “celebrate diversity” means conform or be punished.

The terminology is most important in the schools, where children are forced to conform, not taught to read or write effectively.

In a free society with property rights and a market economy, race and gender or sexual orientation are irrelevant.

What is important instead is protection of individual and property rights, which requires a border defense not just against military invasion but against immigrating people hostile to those principles.

I couldn’t care less what color people are when they are smashing up cars, shooting the police, and destroying the foundation of our wealth.

The architects of destruction care because they see how to use race, gender, sexual orientation and etc. as a means of warfare against property rights and individual liberty.

It isn’t so important that people are black or hispanic or women or whatever to the “diversity” peddlers. Any black, hispanic, female, or gay person who supports property rights and individual liberty is attacked just the same.

Marxism requires class warfare and that’s what they’ve accomplished. My wife is Asian. We don’t hate each other. If she was a white feminist, i.e. a true believer in using government to oppress me, I would loathe her. I’ll take Walter Williams as a dinner guest and godfather over ten million white liberals.

Marxism has largely ruined women in this country just as it has ruined blacks. So Marxism has created class warfare that looks superficially like racial and gender wars.

California used to be a Republican stronghold until 1988 which was the last time Republicans carried the state in a presidential election. The Mestizo invasion has a turned a few once staunchly Republican congressional districts into Democrat ones. The same process is playing out in Nevada which also used to be reliably Republican until the state turned almost 30% Mestizo.

Most of the white people living in the coastal areas of California are liberal, self hating, SJW types. There are right wing whites who are holdouts then there are whites who probably wish to leave but are trapped by financial circumstances. Naturally this contingent is shrinking all the time relative to the rainbow coalition running the state.

California has a net loss of citizens and if any whites are moving in they are probably gay (not happy) or 21st century hippie types.

I hate to break the news but the attitudes and voting patterns of California’s whites aren’t exactly a bellwether for say, the Midwest and rust belt. If the brave new world of California diversity is working so well then why has California suffered a net loss of five million people between 2004 and 2013 according to the Sacramento Bee? California taxes are ridiculous and that’s largely to pay for the social services needed by illegal and poor legal immigrants.

    http://www.sacbee.com/site-services/databases/article32679753.html

Mexicans and whites do seem to get along better than blacks and whites and I’ve even witnessed this in my life experiences. But according to things I’ve read over the years regarding the situation in California there’s still some tension between the two groups and it’s not quite the bed of roses you seem to think it is and probably never will be.

Looking at the election map Trump won many of the inland counties by huge margins ranging anywhere from 15% to almost 50% in some of the Northern California counties. The problem is the population in these areas is dramatically lower than the coastal regions. So I could say if whites in the coastal areas had voted like the inland areas and/or like flyover country that Trump would have won California with ease.

Diversity does look a lot different from a tony neighborhood. Spend some time in a working class area for any length of time and it might change your opinion.

    We’ll see.

Most of what you list isn’t anything innovative, rather things like Uber, Lyft, Ebay, Amazon (WA state, but still), are nothing more than schemes that allow them to finish what Walmart started on local businesses. I.E. they drink the middleman’s milkshake. Innovation if you can call it that.

Apple, Intel, and Nvidia are basically just Asian hardware concerns that are currently theoretically US concerns, and the management and marketing teams are in the US.

No reason that managment couldn’t be moved to China (may need new management).

Or heck they could see an Asian concern arise to compete with them directly.

As for the other stuff, like Google, Facebook, and Hollywood could fall off a cliff in a hurry. If coastal California was expelled, an Iron Wall was erected figuratively with this new nation of California…

In other words Google and the rest are banned from the US market, I figure they wither and die in a hurry. Competitors like Duckduckgo, and Alibaba can fill their niche easily.

After all they are all owned by foreigners.

Also, I could write a good bit about Tesla and SpaceX. Suffice it to say I don’t view these things as being akin to the nascent Ford Motor Company, but more as a new age P.T. Barnum thing.

Oh yeah, and pirating and distributing Hollywood movies and TV shows? A virtue, not a vice. Citizens are strongly encouraged to do so. The best will get a Congressional Medal of Asshole Bashing for the most profit taken from a Hollywood bastard, if such can be measured.

The new US will be a light unto the world for maintaining Piratebay, Demonoid, or direct download of whatever.

    9. And the whole thing begins in China and India as the Zionists simply ‘rinse and repeat’.

People are simply unaware, regardless how many videos there are on Youtube of orthodox rabbis and other Jews, speaking of being behind the mass immigration into the west and how they must destroy ‘Gog and Magog’ they see as the European ‘Edomites’ before their messiah can come.

Globalists are incredibly easy to find. You’ve also missed possibly those who indoctrinate the most – school teachers, college professors, musicians and film and TV actors/celebrities you can add to the list.

And again, what on earth do you do in order to stop them? This has been the question I’ve been searching for an answer for, for quite some time now. What policeman is going to arrest any of them? What police chief will allow any of the globalists to be arrested? What solicitor is going to prosecute any of them and more importantly what judge will listen to the case and give any verdict?

It is overwhelmingly clear, to anyone who has been studying the global, new world order that this system is incredibly wealthy and even more powerful. The CIA, NSA and FBI are overwhelmingly part of it. MI5, MI6 here in the UK, along with other European secret services to boot. Then you have Mossad most certainly involved.

As already stated, I’m not from the USA, but have a keen interest on what’s going on globally. The fact that Hilary Clinton broke goodness knows how many rules and clearly corrupt, having come out cleaner than a baby at birth, with your average man getting life for committing just one of the many offenses she has, proves that these people are above the law.

I don’t know how many times I have stated this, in the many replies I’ve written on this subject, but you CANNOT use the system to BEAT the system. It’s like trying to prosecute a pedophile, with a defense lawyer, a judge and a jury who are all pedophiles. They know this. They know that whatever happens, as long as they’ve been good, obedient servants to the ‘hidden hand’ that’s controlling all of this, they’ll be ok.

  154. Those who mutilated their children’s reproductive organs in one manner (Christians and Jews) and those who did it in another (Muslims) came into conflict.

For the record, little-known, overlooked fact: Muslims also more or less universally circumcise boys, though not all Muslims circumcise girls. So in fact many Muslims practice the virtue of “equal treatment”, while Jews and Christians do not.

I do not know of a single male anti-MGM voice/activist who is not equally opposed to FGM; however, there appear to be very few women opposed to FGM who are willing to extend the same courtesy to boys. Maleness, as we know, is toxic, thus requires drastic corrective measures.

Iceland’s mooted circumcision ban sparks religious outrage (Excerpts, with [comments]:)

Religious groups have condemned a bill in Iceland’s parliament that would ban circumcision for non-medical reasons.

Jewish and Muslim leaders however have called the bill an attack on religious freedom. [It is, of course, legal in Israel to sacrifice your baby to Moloch if your faith demands it.]

The country is thought to have roughly 250 Jewish citizens and around 1,500 Muslim citizens. [Iceland was once famous for making it very difficult for foreigners to naturalize; what happened? Maybe they should go home?]

Iceland passed a law in 2005 banning female genital mutilation, and supporters of this move have compared it to that law.

The Nordic Jewish Communities issued a statement condemning the ban on “the most central rite” in their faith. [They said it, on the record.]

Jewish campaign group Milah UK stated that comparisons with female genital mutilation are unwarranted, given that in the case of male circumcision there is “no recognised long-term negative impact on the child”. [As a survivor who has looked into the matter, I disagree.]

Imam Ahmad Seddeeq at the Islamic Cultural Centre of Iceland also criticised the move.

“It’s… part of our faith,” he said.” It’s something that touches our religion and I believe that this is… a contravention [of] religious freedom.”

The Bishop of Reykjavik, Agnes M. Sigurðardóttir, warned Jewish and Muslim people could feel “unwelcome” in Iceland.

(Looking at the text of the bill, linked in the article, it appears to be sponsored by four women and five men. Note: the objecting “bishop” is female. I wonder what she had to say about the previous law?)

To the point, circumcision regardless of the rationals given, is an ancient form of castration, which was made less total, and ritualized but still does to an extent work to control subject people. Because it interferes with sex function, (male or female), it has an effect on the operation of the organs. Fred wrote a pretty good column for a change. However, the historical reasons why Diversity has happened to us is not addressed.

There will be a book written on this I hope. Jews founded the NAACP back @ 1920 and they have led the Black Insurrection for decades. Communism never went in much for racial equality, but there was a tendency in that direction. The communist party, US, directed and funded by Moscow gold, backed Rosa Parks, and then MLK, etc.

When the Economics based Revolution failed, the next thing was to shift to race and Third World Liberation.

That was the historic Shift in Revolutionary thinking. Jews were not only at the forefront of the old Revolution, but also the new Revolution. (Franz Boas and the invention of Race Equality in academe) That said, Hitlerism destroyed the intellectual basis of old time standard racialism.

Reading Berg’s biography of Charles Lindbergh, it is apparent that Hitlerism sunk the race based argument and sentiment. We were always racialist until between Jewish subversion and Hitler, the tide turned.

The 60s brought the Civil Rights struggle, Vietnam protest which included a very large component of sympathy for those called “gooks”. Vietnam was just another “racist” move by Whites. Communism was eclipsed by race.

Then the whole avalanche of Liberal guilt and so on. (During the US Indian wars, the east coast was always very “concerned” about the treatment of Indians. Their Indians wars were over and they could afford sentimentaliy.).

White altruism became our pathological altruism. Mea Culpa! That, and jewish subversion, and Hitlerism all combined to get the White auto-de-fe (Sp?) burning brightly. We are so ….White!

The degeneration of the historic economics- based Left, as seen in po-mo Deconstructionism, also led by jews, then shifted to race, etc. Whites became Devils.

That is where we are now. Of course, there is resistance. Polls show (Am Ren) that our young white kids are starting to awaken to the immigration threat ( about half of them…a pretty good start). Trumpism , East Europe, and growing West Europe resistance, is also apparent.

Diversity also teamed the Left with Capital, cuz profits cash in on Diversity. The Left abandoned its traditional defense of White working class folks, who were found to be deplorable, etc. Again, led by jews and white liberals, Diversity became the latest Moral Crusade of White folks who would never marry a Negro, etc. but …you know.

Meanwhile the jews promote muslim immigration both in Europe and the US. Anything to destroy white social and racial solidarity. They don’t mind taking some collateral damage to themselves. What is Good for the Jews…a few casualties no big deal.

Pin a badge on yourself. Phil Ochs…love me, love me, love me, I’m a liberal.

The history of Diversity needs to be written. Maybe you younger folks could do it.

You state: “liberal cabal who is pushing this”.
Why do you believe it’s liberal? I know that you don’t mean liberal as in classic liberal (of my country the UK) and believe you are describing the democrats.

I really hate to burst your bubble, but you see, as I heard, a while back: “left wing and right wing are merely two wings on the same bird”.

Your Republicans and Democrats are both in the same bed with one another, nothing more than puppets of Zionism. And yet there will be many people out there who still believe in the left-right paradigm within politics, actually thinking that the republicans are the voice of reason within the USA, with Trump the voice of the people. He isn’t. He never was and never will be. This whole debacle is a charade. It’s there to divide the people of the USA. It’s there to keep them all in a slumber while the continuing invasion of the middle east continues and soon to be conflicts with Russia.

The ‘dead’ give away is Trump’s affiliation with Israel. He doesn’t just love Israel and Zionism, he adores it. His children are either dating or married to Zionists. His son in law, Jared Kushner isn’t just a rampant Zionist but a member of the Chabad Lubavich. And for those who don’t know what or who Chabad Lubavitch is read what Henry Makow has to write about them:

    https://www.henrymakow.com/Kushner-Belongs-to-Fanatical-Jewish-Doomsday-Cult.html

The USA is in absolute turmoil.
Wars, that America had no part in being involved in, have bankrupt your nation. Afghanistan, for example, has cost the US taxayer $4million every hour and this has been going on now for 17 years. Osama Bin Laden is dead. There’s no need to fire million dollar missiles into the mountains of Hindu Kush anymore. But wait, poppy production has increased ten thousand fold since the allies went in……
And of course, there as the cost of Iraq, Libya, the Sudan, Syria…..the list goes on, wars that the people in the USA have conveniently forgotten about because fighting to put a nine year old child on puberty blockers, until it decides what gender it wants to ‘really’ be, deciding nature is wrong with their sexual orientation, is simply far more important.
Radical Marxists, NOT Anarchists, in the form of ANTIFA march in your cities causing widespread disruption.

And Trump is continuing all these foreign escapades, because there’s far too much money to be made.
And America’s debt rises. But hey, all is ok, because you’ve got the Superbowl and of course the run up to the Superbowl and of course all the pre games before the run up to the Superbowl. And don’t forget the Kardashians and Niki Minaj and Avengers saving the world from intergalactic terror……..

And while all of this happens, the Republicans are all staunchly behind the war on terror and the destruction of Israel’s enemies. But wait, so are the Democrats. None of them, however speak of auditing the Federal Reserve have they? Nope, they just keep going to this private banking institution, owned by the Crown Corporation of the City of London (Rothschild) and borrowing billions at high interest and no one bothers.

You’re living in a movie. You don’t realize you’re living in a movie. And outside, in real life, your world is being dismantled piece by piece. In other words, America is a truck, out of control, driving to the edge of a big cliff and the brakes are broke. If only society would leave the movie theater and see what’s really going on…..but they won’t, the movie’s simply too good to stop watching.

A question for Fred Reed—-would you please provide the source from which you learned that Christians mutilate their children’s reproductive organs??

Given that most White Christians in the Anglo nations (UK, US, Canada, OZ, NZ) do so, the statement is technically correct (see below). The practice was promoted in these countries in the late 19th century as “cure” for masturbation, known by medical science to be the cause of a host of personal and societal maladies, e.g. tuberculosis. (The medieval Jewish sage Maimonides, apparently searching for a “rational” justification, also stated that its purpose was to suppress excessive sexuality.)

Infant male circumcision gradually caught on in the US through the early 20th century, until during WWII (when I was born, a few years before Mr. Reed, who I assume was also subjected to this tender ritual of welcome) it became near-universal. By 1960 the rate was something like 95%; it has gone down somewhat since then mostly because the non-Anglo and non-White populations have grown exponentially, and are resistant to the idea.

Btw, at first some form of GM was also done to girls in the US at least, and lingered at least into the 1950s, when at least one girl I know of was subjected thereto. For her own good, of course.

I was pleased to see Fred put it this way, because (a) it is true, and (b) it puts the situation in a way that catches the attention – as witness your response.

Though of course Christians do not cite their “religion” as imposing the practice on them, it is true that it first caught on among the descendants of the Puritans and other Protestant “dissenters” who colonized the US Northeast, and who historically have tended to have a fixation on the idea that they were/are the rightful spiritual descendants of the Israelites of Jesus’ time. The idea of being God’s “chosen” is very compelling – apparently worth torturing and mutilating your children. As well as fanatically supporting Israel Über Alles as do so many US Protestants.

    @Responder111

“…Besides balkanizing the USA, which would be a pretty bloody procedure, how would we ever extricate ourselves from this marxist takeover?…I would be interested if anyone has any “solutions” to this…”

I have actual solutions to this but I don’t think the Republicans have the guts to enact them.

A large part of the problem is that power has been ratcheted upwards to destroy diversity of opinion and concentrate power.

1.We are going to have to start impeaching judges. For example the judges that say they have control over immigration issues are way out of their role in this country. They should be impeached. There’s lots of issues that I would personally impeach judges over but I won’t list them all.
    2. A large amount of our problems, as I said, are centralization of power and judges using that power to override the will of the people. I don’t think people know it but the Constitution says that Congress has the power to decide what issues judges can take up.

    https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution/articleiii

“…In all the other cases before mentioned, the Supreme Court shall have appellate jurisdiction, both as to law and fact, with such exceptions, and under such regulations as the Congress shall make…”

If Congress doesn’t want the judges to decide anything on say, homosexual issues or whatever, they can just tell them so and they lose the power to decide on that issue. It really only takes 51% of the votes to force judges to not take up any issue the Legislature doesn’t want them to. If this were done I think long term it would vastly curtail judges aggressive changing of the Constitution because of the harsh slap on the wrist this would be seen as. After all if Congress decided so they could be stuck only deciding water rights or some other such nonsense. To keep that from happening they would try to be less extravagant in what they decide.
    3. A long time ago the judges decided that States could not have regional representation like we have in the Senate. No State legislative houses based on regions. They had to all be based on population. This of course gave way too much power to the cities. We could immediately change a vast amount of power in the country by telling the Courts that they can no longer decide on this and make it legal to have houses in the States based on regions. This would be a HUGE change. Probably one the most effective tools that people who want change could ever have. It will not change a lot of the very liberal States as they have too much power and would be loath to have the hinderlands tell them anything but I bet it would make a large difference in at least 50% of the country. It might even over time allow States with majority left to be forced to give regional representation to the rural areas. If New York State had a regional based Senate I bet their policies would change big time. Up State New York is NOT New York city and neither is Northern California, Los Angeles.
    4. Congress then needs to change the voting laws. Judges have ruled that there’s no qualifications except that you not be a felon. Congress could change this so that States could have whatever voting laws they wish in the States. Once again the most left of the States would do nothing but many would make it where you had to at least have a high school diploma, maybe pay a certain amount of taxes and other qualifications before you could vote.
    5. Make voting always verifiable, all votes by legal voters and all votes counted correctly. This can be done electronically. A simple way would be to issue paper ballots with a blank header, side and footer margins. On the header could be a stamp that is stamped by the voting official that handed you the ballot. You mark your votes then you scribble, add numbers or whatever you wish on the sides of the ballot. You take a picture of the marked ballot. The votes would be totaled electronically by reading the marked locations on the ballot. A hash,[essentially a digital fingerprint that can be used to verify a document just like a person can be identified by their fingerprint], say SHA256, SHA512 or whatever is made of your scribbled on ballot. The scribbling makes each ballot unique. A computer computes the hash and you mark this hash number down at the bottom and keep the ballot. The picture is saved electronically plus your vote and the hash in a data base. Each poll station would have all the pictures of the ballots, their hashes and the total votes in a database file that anyone could download as a whole or using just the hash your one ballot picture and vote. That way anyone can count the votes, know how many were cast in all the poll stations and actually look at any or their own cast ballot[using the hash code] and see that it is correct. The only way to cheat would be to give ballots to people not qualified to vote or padding the ballots. Congress could make laws about valid voting. States that refused to do so could have their Representatives refused a seat in government. Any judge that disagrees could be impeached.
    6. Repeal the amendment that made Senators directly voted in office, Seventeenth Amendment (Amendment XVII), and have the State legislatures decide who to send to the Senate of the USA. This would be a huge break up of power and give the States a true bargaining chip against the Federal government.

The Republicans voting by party line have the votes to do every one of these except repealing the Seventeenth Amendment right now. It would totally change the country and might drastically stop the slide that we are in. They of course would be vilified more than any Congress ever by the press but fuck them.

Skip forward to 1962 Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel:

“The image of the world in 1987 as traced in my imagination: the Cold War will be a thing of the past. Internal pressure of the constantly growing intelligensia in Russia for more freedom and the pressure of the masses for raising their living standards may lead to a gradual democratization of the Soviet Union. On the other hand, the increasing influence of the workers and farmers, and rising political importance of men of science, may transform the United States into a welfare state with a planned economy. Western and Eastern Europe will become a federation of autonomous states having a Socialist and democratic regime. With the exception of the USSR as a federated Eurasian state, all other continents will become united in a world alliance, at whose disposal will be an international police force. All armies will be abolished, and there will be no more wars. In Jerusalem, the United Nations (a truly United Nations) will build a shrine of the Prophets to serve the federated union of all continents; this will be the scene of the Supreme Court of Mankind, to settle all controversies among the federated continents, as prophesied by Isaiah. Higher education will be the right of every person in the world. A pill to prevent pregnanacy will slow down the explosive natural increase in China and India. And by 1987, the average life-span of man will reach 100 years.”

On the other hand blacks are heavily over-represented in the music business in Los Angeles and increasingly we’ll-represented in the movie business in Hollywood, while hispanics and asians are not.

    Sam J,

The biggest problem there is in the USA and the rest of the west for that matter is complete and utter ignorance, resting on the false illusion of hope, of not just the overwhelming majority, but people who believe they’ve woken up, thinking that they can use the system to beat the system.

Bankers and corporatists are part of the system. Judges are part of the system. Lawyers are part of the system. Police top brass are part of the system. Armed forces top brass are part of the system. Politicians are part of the system. The msm journalists, from top to bottom are part of the system…..All of these peoples are Inextricably linked with one another. It’s a hive mind, all working in tandem, having been placed in their positions to do a job. All of these establishments are ‘closed shops’. The minute anyone within smells someone trying to change it, that individual is instantly removed, either character assassinated or assassinated, made to look like a suicide.

This system has been hundreds of years in its creation. One can go back as far as 1649 and Cromwell’s civil war, that led to the regicide of Charles 1st, all funded by Dutch Jews, eager to get back into the UK, having spent the last 340+ years in exile, courtesy of Edward 1st’s Edict of Expulsion of 1290. Once the Jews were in, a few changes took place, none moreso than the creation of the Bank of England.
Those within the Mayflower, who set off to found the New World 30 years prior, most certainly did so for good intentions, but it wasn’t long before the freemasons followed, to implement the Talmudic doctrine upon North America.

Your whole reply is about using the system and to make an analogy, the system is like Tolkien’s one ring. It is incredibly powerful and cannot be used for good. It is inherently evil and will destroy. The only salvation for the people of middle earth was the utter obliteration of the ring, in the fires of Mount Doom and in reality, the only salvation for humanity is the utter obliteration of the system.

Look, I can’t state this more plainly. Americans and Europeans, if they want to save their nations, thus their civilization and more so, their race are going to have to get their hands dirty.
This can ONLY be achieved by an armed insurrection by the people, for the people. And in order to succeed, not only do the people have to be united, but they are going to have to, somehow, get the armed forces on their side. The only way this can be achieved is the instant removal of top brass, by the lower ranks. The top brass are puppets and all most certainly part of the freemason fraternity.

Once you have control of the armed forces, the air forces and navy can stop any fleeing, out of the country, from freemasons in their top positions within the establishments.
It is now, when you have control of the land, sea and air, that you can start grabbing bankers, corporatists, politicians, judges, college professors, journalists and other members of the msm, musicians, actors, sport’s personalities and have a series of ‘Nuremburg’ trials for all, trying them for treason, under a court run by the people and not, as it stands today, by a judiciary who are owned lock, stock and barrel by the B.A.R. itself, owned by the crown corporation of the city of London, not forgetting their involvement with freemasonry.

You could even set up a guillotine in city squares, to bring about what would be what Trump promised – “a cleaning of the swamp”.

The only way, to secure a victory is the above and if you truly do believe that you can use the system (the one ring) to secure victory, then you are living in cloud cuckoo land.

The ‘rulers’ are very much expecting an armed insurrection, but they are not expecting to lose control of the armed forces, not just in the USA, but throughout the west. Once the judiciary falls, along with the bankers and money confiscated, the rest of the cabal will certainly go into hiding. It’s only a matter of time before they’re caught, tried and subsequently executed.

Like it or not, the white peoples of the western civilization are at war and many haven’t a clue that they have a choice – get off their knees and fight for the survival of it, or do nothing and allow the new world order’s one world government to come about and the creation of Greater Israel, that once created will rule the world, for, well forever I’m sorry to state.

    Thanks Ken,

But we’re preaching to the choir.

the reality is that if a few middle and working class whites are pushed aside and replaced, that there are more people happy about that, than otherwise.

If you’re not a member of that group (whites), or if you are, but profit from the ‘diversity’, then it’s tough to make the case that these people have a right to persevere for their own sake, when so many are so keen to see them cleansed out.

Mr. Unz makes the case that the white people in California are perfectly sanguine about the march towards increasing diversity, but then why do the (white) people in eastern California want to secede?

Just because someone is white, doesn’t mean they share the cultural fondness for ‘heritage America / Western civilization.

Homosexuals for instance, are enthusiastic about the death of the (white, Western) ‘patriarchy’, and work towards that goal with a passion. Obviously they aren’t concerned about diversity, with so many young, desperately poor, brown little boys moving into the community. And a general repudiation of the moral code of Western norms.

Opportunists, meth cooks and drug dealers, tech company CEOs, hospitality industry big wigs, and a thousand other reasons exist for white people to welcome the newcomers, if only for reasons of personal gain.

And you can’t measure with statistics that ‘certain something’ that comes with a shared sense of tradition, culture and ethnicity, that makes for a sense of community. How do you measure that?

Here’s a video of Pit Bull’s Miami NYE celebration. There isn’t even one white person participating. Not one vestige of Dick Clark. Not even a wigger like Justin Beaver or Timberlake, gesticulating like a simian with their hand permanently attached to their crotch.

The only whites there are in the audience. And the urban crass is so over the top, there’s not even a hint of the Miami that’s been wiped away, both demographically and culturally.

But for all the people 0n the stage, and the producers and ((PTB)), this celebration of “diversity”, (which conspicuously lacked a certain diversity), is something to revel in with every breath and cell of their diversity (non-white) beings. It is their goal, and they’re going to have a lot of allies in their struggle, both white and non-white.

See also Harbinger above, re Jewish involvement in the English Civil War (which was a real civil war, unlike the American conflict in the 1860s). Precisely.
I think the biggest enemy of white people are, in fact, white people. Understand that within the heterosexual community, this has been as a direct result of serious programming, that’s been going on for the last 60 years. Each generation is more hating of what it is, than the previous one. It is with these whom anyone who’s fighting back to stop white genocide will have their biggest fight with. What is the solution? If victory was ‘somehow’ achieved then what on earth would we do with the malingering malaise within society, doing their best to throw a spanner in the works and herald in their one world dystopia, as they’ve been programmed to believe? There would be millions upon millions of them and the possibility of putting them back on the right track, that is de-programming them, is pretty much an impossibility. Unlike Germany, after WW1 and the rise of the communist agent provocateurs, who created chaos, resulting in the rise of Hitler’s national socialists, the overwhelming majority of Germany was nationalist. Could you imagine the rise of Hitler, today, were he to attempt something similar in Germany, or any European nation for that matter? Our western societies are inherently international socialist (globalist) the number one enemy of nationalism.

And yes, you’re spot on with homosexuality. They love diversity. They couldn’t care what colour of penis sodomizes them. It’s all about instant satisfaction for these immoral pleasure seekers.
Incidentally, one of the driving forces behind the Zionist funded, LGBTQ ‘Stonewall’, anti-white, pro immigration, pro multiculturalism, pro diversity organization is a man called Peter Tatchell. He is not only a promoter of ‘man-boy’ inter-generational relationships (pedophilia) but has in fact written for the Dutch, Pedophile Information Exchange. He has never been reprimanded once, or questioned by the police.

Remember that it is overwhelmingly the younger generations, those under 40 or so, who are proponents of feminism, LGBTQ, multiculturalism, multiracialism and globalism. Their attitudes won’t change as they get older, if anything, they’ll be even more set in their ways. The white race and its civilization is sadly like a woman reaching forties. The body clock is ticking…..

To be fair, anti-immigration hawk Pete Wilson was Meg Whitman’s campaign chairman and even did ads in which he endorsed her. During her campaign, Whitman said she was against driver’s licenses, access to public universities, and amnesty for illegals. So you could argue that Poizner pulled Whitman well to the right of where a California Republican would typically want to be.

Something similar happened back in the 2010 Arizona Senate primary. Immigration hawk JD Hayworth was rapidly closing in on John McCain, so McCain enlisted an endorsement from Palin. After that, McCain surged and defeated Hayworth easily.

In state primaries, endorsements from prominent figures can count for a lot.

Back in 2003, Bustamante ran a very pro-immigration campaign and lost to Arnold Schwarzennegar. Combined, Schwarzennegar and McClintock actually won around 2/3 of the vote, which is really good for Republicans. Some people believed that Bustamante’s excessively liberal views on immigration played a role in his loss, especially when you consider that he was actually even with Arnold at one point during the race. Of course that was 15 years ago, so a lot may have changed since then.

An unrelated but very significant factor was the total collapse of the huge aerospace industry in Southern California in the early 1990s, leading to a similar economic exodus of all those middle-class workers.

I’m absolutely sure that these sentiments significantly contributed to the white exodus of that period, though I really do believe that the economic pressures were much more important.

    Good points there.

Frankly, all the various California-based anti-immigrant bloggers or pundits who persuade gullible people around the country that things are really bad here, but who stubbornly refuse to sell their small house for a huge fortune and then move away to some 90% white state remind me of that old joke:

While there are 90% white areas, they tend to be in relatively boring rural areas, smaller-sized metros, or older suburbs. In addition to being boring, many of these areas have uncomfortably cold winter weather too. If you’ve spent your life living the SoCal dream in Newport Beach, there’s no way you’re moving to rural Wyoming, Boise, or the suburbs of Indianapolis. Being a surfer dude/beach bum is too fun of a lifestyle to give up. Perhaps you’d (grudgingly) consider Dallas, Austin, South Florida, NYC, or Boston…. Except those areas are already pretty diverse themselves (with a lot more blacks).

In modern day America, the most desirable places tend to be super diverse. So if you’re a Californian who wants less diversity but a comparably good standard of living (and lots of fun!), there’s nowhere to go. So why not stay put? White Californians have given up and accepted diversity because there’s no where to run that meets the criteria of being largely white and highly desirable.

You do make reasonable points about how California’s ethnic diversity isn’t as horrible as some of the posters make it out to be, but I’d argue that most Californians see it as a less than ideal. Something to be tolerated rather than embraced. Today’s California is still a good place to live (especially if you’ve got money), but the older California was much nicer. Partly because it was more affordable and had higher paying jobs (adjusting for inflation), but also because you could grow up around people who are linguistically, culturally, and racially similar to you. When the average Orange County white drives through his region, he’s still impressed by the natural scenery and beaches. However, the multitude of languages, ethnicities, and customs makes him nostalgic for his more homogenous childhood. He can live with diversity, but it’s less than ideal.

One more point. Lots of White Californians have an economically symbiotic relationship with immigrants. Their home values increase due to immigrants pushing up real estate prices. White Californians benefit from lower-cost paid help (maids, nannies, gardeners, care givers, and cooks). Many White Californians work in the California state government as firefighters, cops, administrators, teachers, judges, etc. So not only do they benefit from immigrants creating more opportunities for them, but their high salaries are paid through immigrant tax dollars. Some of the more entrepreneurial White Californians (such as the tech wizards of Silicon Valley or construction magnates of SoCal) benefit from immigrant labor.

This above model works well in California, but (for many reasons) doesn’t scale nationwide. In many parts of the country, whites and immigrants find themselves in competition. So the relationship is less symbiotic and more economically adversarial. There are many places in which blue collar whites have found themselves pushed out of the labor market by Hispanic workers. Some of these places have been flooded with black tar heroin, much of it brought in by Mexican migrants from Xalisco. Not surprisingly, Trump did very well with blue collar whites nationally.

I think you make good points, but I also think that immigration is (on net) a negative for most Americans. This is much more true outside California (which is unique in many respects). So if you lived outside California, your view of immigration would likely be more negative.

I don’t like Victor Davis Hanson because his farming family, like every farmer in California is the cause of the Mexifornification of California.

He, his parents and grandparents were all farmers who hired Mexican farm workers. He still runs the farm and he and all his fellow farmers are one of the industries responsible for the Mexifornification of California.

The entire food industry runs on illegal and legal Hispanic cheap labor. Every dollar we spend on food goes to enrich the food industry employers of illegals.

Every tax dollar we pay, sales, property, income, licensing and government fees goes to enrich the food industry employers of illegals because without the government subsidizes of the illegals with government housing, welfare, food stamps, free daycare etc the food industry would have to pay family living wages.

Granted Hispanics have diluted the blacks problems , but they cause other problems and of course ever since Pres Nixon made them affirmative action beneficiaries they are entitled to government jobs forbidden to Whites by the laws of affirmative action.

But, since government jobs are forbidden by law for Whites, it’s far, far better to have those jobs filled by competent, civilized polite Hispanics instead of by incompetent surly blacks who hate Whites.

It’s amazing how much Hispanics have improved government since they overwhelmed the blacks. Even the blacks are far less vicious and nasty than they were when they were the majority of government workers.

I’d far rather live in a Hispanic state like California than a Deep South state over run with blacks.

The countries you listed as, quote ‘White Christian’ are all in the Anglosphere. There are other ‘White Christians’ besides them: you don’t consider e.g. Nordics ‘White Christian’?

Sorry, reading comprehension fail; try again. I “listed” five countries as “Anglo nations” (in fact, just as you insist), and wrote that “White Christians” in those countries practice circumcision. I never wrote, nor meant to imply, that all White Christians do so, nor that I do not “consider e.g. Nordics ‘White Christian’”. I did not know that the rate is now below 50% in NZ and Canada, though I did know it fell considerably in the UK when the National Health quit paying for it in the 1950s (IIRC). I also know that ca. 1960 the rate in this country was above 90%, and presume it was similar in the rest of the Anglosphere then.

I did state that the lower rate today in the US (where I live) is due mostly to the fact that non-Anglo (Christian) and non-White populations tend not to be interested in mutilating their sons – presumably as they haven’t fallen for the Judeo-Christian scam as Anglos have done (I gather Italian-American Catholics, for instance, tend to resist.).

However, Nordic-Americans seem to be just as enthusiastic about it as the original Anglo stock (from which I derive). And their ancestral European lands seem to have fallen for the “Diversity” scam as thoroughly as the Anglos have. A possible reason: The Jewish origins of multiculturalism in Sweden. Funny how it all fits together, eh?

Reed’s article at the OP discusses the United States, not the whole Christian world, not even the other countries of the Anglosphere; thus his reference was to “Christians and Jews” in this country and was true and accurate. Nor do I see any evidence he intended to “imply” Christians in general – nor did I – only those in the United States. If you find in his statement “an insult to Christians at large”, it’s because you’re looking for one – and that’s your problem, not mine.

I don’t know about other countries in the Anglosphere, but here in the US the high circumcision rate is for monetary reason, not religious.

It’s a complex issue, with numerous “reasons”; the “monetary” is now one (a billion-dollar industry for the Medical Industrial Complex), but that’s a latecomer. As I wrote above, it was promoted in late 19th century America as a “cure for masturbation”; e.g. John Harvey Kellogg (of the Cornflakes):

A remedy for masturbation which is almost always successful in small boys is circumcision. The operation should be performed by a surgeon without administering an anesthetic, as the brief pain attending the operation will have a salutary effect upon the mind, especially if it be connected with the idea of punishment. … In females, the author has found the application of pure carbolic acid to the clitoris an excellent means of allaying the abnormal excitement.

Also among its most enthusiastic proponents were “reform” Jews (a new category at the time) who hoped to better “pass for White” if White men also were circumcised.

The masturbation issue no longer has much force; nowadays I believe it is, yes, medical malpractice – and simple custom which few are prepared to question – the “I want my son to look like his father” syndrome – and… if Feminism is a religion (and I believe it is, and now the dominant one in this culture), infant male circumcision (masculinity is, as we know, toxic, and requires drastic corrective measures) is certainly one of its sacraments (along with abortion, divorce, and voting to override “oppressive” male power). Turns out Otto Weininger was more right than he knew.

~24 years ago, when I was first learning about the actual effects of what had been done to me, I asked a German woman acquaintance if it was done there. She said, “Only if the mother wants it.” Hmmm…

I regard circumcision as an atavistic survival of ancient rituals of Goddess worship; for instance, as recently as Roman Imperial times, acolytes of Kybele were required to castrate themselves to demonstrate their devotion to Her.

But do _any_ Muslims or Jews not circumcise (for religious reasons)?

I don’t know about Muslims; I gather it’s not mentioned in the Qur’an, so it’s custom, not commandment. However, Muslims tend to be rather strict in their disciplines; e.g. the penalty for apostasy is death. In the modern feminist version of “liberal” Islam (clearly an oxymoron) that’s being peddled currently in the West, of course FGM will be abandoned, but I expect the traditional MGM will continue.

There are a few Jews who are turning away from it; I have a friend who is a rabbi (though he doesn’t make his living thereby) who offers to do a “non-violent bris” – as do a few others, I gather. I don’t know how this can be fully harmonized with the belief of the overwhelming majority of Jews that it is “the most central rite” in their faith – though apparently it is not so ancient as most think. But the Jews have always been the world’s champion experts at rationalization; note in the link that circumcision actually violates at least two of the basic 613 Commandments.

It worked as well as was widely expected. The two differed sharply in manners, morals, attitudes to education, dress, and acquiescence to law. The result was the disaster we see daily in the news.

Fred speaking of blacks vs whites. Blacks trying to grab as much free stuff as possible with affirmative action jobs and welfare, disability, free housing etc in the lead. With white/Asian producers with useful real world jobs never getting any gratitude or thanks for proving the framework and funding aka taxes that blacks can thrive in. Can you imagine a black owned, black run NBA and NFL? This is what I mean by providing a framework

The Latinos came. While they resembled whites much more than did blacks, they were racially distinct and differed in culture.

As much as I detest the Latino immigration invasion I will admit this is true. For a recent roofing job I told the roofing company owner to send me his CentAm crew not his Jamaican one. I liked the Central Americans and was able to communicate with them and get things (mostly) done the way I wanted. I never got an attitude from them. I think the biggest enemy of white people are, in fact, white people

    yep

I know some liberal whites. People like Michael Moore, (and like Michael Moore, make their homes in lily-white ‘whitopias’). And from these bastions of homogeneous bonhomie and safe streets, they sanctimoniously rail at conservative America for wanting to live in the kind of safe and harmonious communities where these white liberals live.

The Clintons moved to Chappaqua NY. Less than 1% African American

Bernie Sanders recently purchased a home in Lake Champlain with even fewer African Americans.

Anti-white racist Tim Wise famously lives in a lily-white community.

but that doesn’t stop them from fulminating 24/7 on the evils of white skin and so-called ‘white privilege’ as they themselves walk the safe streets and pleasant milieu of pristine communities surrounded by the exact same people and culture they demand everyone else dismantle in the name of diversity.

Smug liberals, homosexuals, Zionist Jews and frumpy, ugly feminists, all howling at the evils of the ‘patriarchy’, (from the safety and comfort that the very same patriarchy provides to them)

And then of course there are the WASPy, uber-white men of the Chamber of Commerce. Happy to betray their children’s future for a few extra shekels. Or the suicidally insane Christians importing Somalis and everyone else they can, because it makes them feel gushy with compassion- when they prove that they’re even more self-loathing than the liberals.

From the GOP to the Mormons to the liberals and homos, to the feminists and opportunistic journalists, et al.. the enemies of Western civilization and its people are legion.

Perhaps this is how Rome was burnt down, and we’ve got a ringside seat to the implosion of the remnants of Western civilization even as we speak.

I’ll be long gone, but I weep for the children who will inherit a world of hatred for their (white) phonotype that chills my spine to contemplate.

And when globally, they’re a powerless minority, and dependent upon the tender mercies and forbearance of the OT Jewish supremacists and blacks and others, then we can look to the fate of the Kulaks, or the S. African Boer, or Kosovo Serbian or Rhodesian farmer and their families to see how the whites of this new world order (of George Soros’ vision) will fare.

Because then there will be no cavalry to come to their rescue. The people of Russia and Eastern Europe, (if they haven’t been nuked in a global zio-war by then or forced to participate in the insanity), will likely look on with grim apathy as the West is devoured by its own self-righteous vanity and ‘exceptionalism’.

Fat and happy folk don’t want to rock the boat. My business is a precursor to yours Ron and my experience recruiting, training, and managing Californians involved a lot of time on the ground so I had direct comparison with conditions and people in every state/region of the USA. Guys in CA would stumble across opportunities bigger than entire teams could scrounge in the Midwest or Southeast. This was due to population size and growth directly and due to declining number (relative to population total) of competent whites competing for the work. There is (or was) more going on in SoCal on any given day/week than in CO in a year as one LA expat once complained to me.

Let’s also remember that the huge white boom in CA of the post-war years thru the 70’s created innumerable millionaires as property values skyrocketed. That 1950’s bungalow that cost $25K is now worth $1.5mil. Add the great climate and plans to retire somewhere much cheaper like OR, CO, TX, NC, etc, and things worked out pretty well provided the population pressure continues and nobody creates new land on your peninsula or in SoCal right? Plus, since you’re flush with easy money and huge equity gains, you can have those low cost Mexicans do your housekeeping and landscaping!

Why rock that boat for some loudmouth crass NYC jerk whose proposed policies would remove half the State’s population crushing real estate prices and decimating the apportioned Fed $$$ coming into the economy? I’ll take a shot at it: So much of what (((they))) have done to destroy America was the direct result not of their religion or tribalism, but simply their Communism. (((They))) were America’s greatest Commies and many still are – at least the ones that didn’t convert to NeoCon politics. Their leaders, under Soviet guidance, wanted to destabilize America and fomented racial strife by riling up the excitable and violent negroes especially in the North where the Communists had their biggest strongholds (think labor unions & universities). A huge amount of the harm done has its roots in the perverse intra-tribal conflict between rich and poor Ashkenazim in Europe with the rich eventually just going along with their tribal cousins as they learned there were big profits to be made off the divisiveness (ie war profits, arms, real estate – white flight, etc).

Why pay CA prices to witness western deconstruction? Guaranteed the hardcore R&D is not carried out by diversity photo op minorities. It never has been.

    I concur.

The Rule of Law is quite as you have stated and to quote George Orwell – “all animals are equal, just some are more equal than others” – Animal Farm.
I’m an anarchist. I do not believe in the state authority over the individual, unless with given consent. Sadly, people are unable to see this and happily allow the police and judiciary to interfere in their lives.
City of Vice, was a TV drama here in the UK, not so long ago, about the creation of the police force in London. What the people failed to see, from this drama, was, it had nothing to do with creating a force to protect the public, but quite the contrary; to protect the elites from the public. And as you know, nothing has changed. The police, all part of the freemason fraternity, along with the judiciary, all work in tandem to protect the aristocracy while doing their best to make the lives of the lower classes a misery.

Could you imagine Jewish bankers existing within an anarchy, where there was no armed force, police or judiciary to protect them, when people realize they’re being shafted over a barrel? Could you imagine any of the chaos happening in this world today, were there no governments to promote the wars in the middle east and the mass immigration into the west? There would be no Rothschild owned intelligence services, no CIA, no FBI, no MI5 etc etc. And we don’t have an anarchy, BECAUSE the Jewish owned Hollywood will throw out a movie, now and again, of an apocalyptic wasteland, where everyone is murdering and eating one another, in order to continue the enforcement of ‘democracy’ within society. It’s madness.

And finally, yes, as for heroes, well I’ve had this discussion with a few people. The msm will celebrate a British sniper, killing six Taliban ‘terrorists’ with one bullet, hailing him as a hero and denounce an old farmer, for killing a burglar, who broke into his house. And if it’s not the constant drivel of the armed forces, being paraded with some ‘hero’ song BS, Hollywood is making nothing but ‘hero’ films with everyone going crazy over Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers. They’re living inside a comic and a video game reality.

I’m not shocked if blacks want to go and see Black Panther, but I have absolutely no desire whatsoever of watching blatant, agenda promoting crap from Stan Lee et all. Interestingly that you should mention Black Panther, unlike the other Marvel heroes, they’re from REAL places in the world. That land where Black Panther hails from doesn’t exist, because in reality, blacks, who haven’t developed within white culture haven’t built anything above one storey, mud hut civilizations. And like Stan Lee’s Thor movie, where the guardian of Asgard, Heimdall, was played by African actor, Idris Elba (whom Wikipedia seem to think is an ‘English’ actor), doing his best to destroy the Norse people’s white identity, Black Panther is also full of utter BS about reality and the black race.

I’m all for black people respecting the white culture, that they live in within the west, realizing that it is that culture and not their own that has allowed them to succeed at whatever they want to, but the reality is, that if there truly was a land, that Stan Lee has created for Black Panther, it wouldn’t be what it is, a lush and prosperous place, quite the contrary, it would be ruled over by a Black tyrant, most certainly under the control of Zionists, working his people’s fingers to the bone, mining blood diamonds or some other precious gems that the Jews would exploit them for.

Sorry for digression, but thank you all for bringing up this superb painter. I once was at the Met, maybe 12 years ago, and witnessed a painting that was so haunting and technically dazzling that it frequently still enters my thoughts without prior warning or reason.

I’ve often tried to discover who the painter was as I stupidly passed it by without minding the plaque, my attention overwhelmed by the sheer number of exhibits. But looking at the hell scene from The Garden of Earthly Delights, I would be willing to bet it was him.

The painting I saw was a serene bucolic landscape with people working the land. Overhead there was suspended, as if in flight, a black-clad demonic figure that terrified in a way I’m not could be rendered in another medium. It was a portrait of impending death.

The majority of blacks in Tennessee are in a few counties: Shelby (Memphis), Davidson (Nashville, Hamilton (Chattanooga), Madison (Jackson), and to a lesser extent, Knox (Knoxville).

Tennessee breaks down into East Tennessee, Middle Tennessee, and West Tennessee. Most Tennessee small towns, especially East and Middle are very good places.

  234. @Truth

    Diversity doesn’t create desirability.
    Desirability creates diversity.

For example, SoCal is an amazing place due to its beaches, weather, surfing, nightlife, and beach babes. Also, there used to be many high-paying aerospace jobs and affordable housing (not anymore).

Did “diverse” peoples have anything to do with creating the above conditions? No, not really. Back when SoCal was overwhelmingly white, all of those conditions existed.

However, “diverse” peoples wanted to live in paradise, so they flocked in in huge numbers. So now it’s a “diverse” region.

    Diversity followed desirability.

Non-diverse 50s era SoCal was a paradise, so huge numbers of Mexican, Asian, and Eastern Euro migrants flowed in.

SoCal still has amazing beaches, weather, surfing, nightlife, and beach babes. Unfortunately, the price of housing is ridiculously high, high-paying jobs are relatively scarce, and the place is wildly overcrowded. Much of that can be attributed to excessive immigration.

I suppose you could argue that California would’ve been flooded by domestic migration even if the immigration floodgates hadn’t been opened. However, my sense is that the domestic migration flood would’ve been much more moderate. So there’d be less severe issues with housing, jobs, and overcrowding.

Diversity may not have destroyed SoCal, but it’s lowered the quality of life somewhat and created conditions that are unfavorable to native-born Americans.

Yes, because they moved out and provided labor for low wages, which allowed industry to grow rapidly, just like the Midwest.

    • Replies: @JohnnyWalker123
  238. @Truth

If they hadn’t provided their labor, where what would California be like today?

It’d have much higher wages and blue collar guys would still be able to ply their trade. Immigrant workers pushed out Americans.

Believe it or not, there was a time when American men worked construction in SoCal and wrote code in Silicon Valley. If not for the immigrant flood, they’d still be doing those jobs today.

  245. @Loveofknowledge

it’s an interesting question why it really took off in the 90′s

The massive expansion of prescriptions for mind-altering chemicals.

It’s absolutely obvious, and the only people who refuse to acknowledge it are (a) people who benefit from the system; and (b) people who ‘know someone’ who obtained a benefit from psychotropics, and believe than anecdotes are evidence.

If you are interested in just how bad these things are, read “Anatomy of an Epidemic” by Robert Whitaker; it is extremely well-researched and provides detailed references to studies that show – conclusively – that

    ① the “chemical imbalance” theory of mental illness has been known to be false for decades;
    ② the meds stop working over time (because the brain compensates for the changes induced in various synaptic receptors);
    ③ the long-term outcomes from pharma-based treatment of ADHD, bipolar, and schizophrenia are worse, on average, than for patients who never take meds (note: this is true for relapse rates; gap between episodes; return to pre-illness life… and about 20 other metrics);
    ④ long-term (> 1 year) use of psychtotropics causes cognitive decline in well-understood ways (literal shrinkage of key areas of the brain);
    ⑤ meds cause secondary metabolic changes that can be devastating;
⑥ all of those negatives are far worse when applied to children and adolescents (because their brains – and their personalities – are still ‘plastic’).

On ⑤: the side effects of long-term use include akathisia-induced impulsivity – where the individual’s mental state degenerates (and they know it’s degenerating) but their outward ‘affect’ is preternaturally calm. These folks decline into homicidal and suicidal thoughts, and are now ‘wired’ to be unable to resist impulses.

There is some evidence that a small proportion of people are prone to akathisia due to a difference in the way the meds are metabolised in the liver… but the proportion of medicated patients who suffer from akathisia increases over time, independent of liver metabolism.

All the benefits of these meds are ‘measured’ over the short term – 6 weeks or so – which, it turns out, is slightly shorter than the time taken for non-medication solutions to kick-in.

Look up the history of the ‘studies’: they are like a “how To” manual on biased research methods, and even then they have had to be selective in withholding publication of negative results. There are examples of much pre-filtering of candidates into responders/non-responders, and then ‘streaming’ of non-responders into the placebo group… in a study submitted to the FDA, which the FDA then approved.

And the thing is… anybody who bothers to do the research, can find all this in medical journals.

Long story short: it’s the drugs, silly.

    Diversity + Proximity = WAR!
(ALWAYS! Through-out the history (and pre-history!) of humans! Go watch this brilliant 3-minute reminder: https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6fu671 )

The solution is: they must go back!
(It’s either that, or a bloody deadly shooting war — and then whatever is leftover goes back anyway, or at least goes away.)

The DACA illegals, for example, the anchor babies, the ‘family reunification’ masses? Have had a PAID-for 20-30 YEARS of White, (barely/vaguely leftover) Christian, America “immersion” they grew up in: American schooling, American “culture” (what little American culture they GOT in their mexican /foreign enclaves planted like deadly warts amongst the actual Americans), American viewpoints, American ‘common’ knowledge, American ways of acting and interacting — they have had years of paid-for injection of how WE do it. Now they need to go home and try to create it in their OWN countries, not keep parasitizing ours! And if they don’t choose to go, we will ‘treat’ them like the parasites they are and drive them out. (And the ‘medicine’ to drive out or kill the parasites will NOT be kind!)

Reed writes: “Countries are happiest when they have one national culture, or at least one dominant culture to which all must perforce conform.”

Wait wait! This is the: “Mexicans are GREAT, you-all should LOVE (and welcome into your towns!) all the Mexicans who want to come, Mexicans BELONG in the U.S.” guy?! What? Did he just get mugged in Jalisco?!
Oh no, of COURSE not — he’s still pro-Mexican, now it’s the NE (once White Christian) lands, which are guilty of destroying the country (which they surely did). But a HUGE part of their ‘weaponry’ to achieve that destruction is the 100+million Mexicans and other South Americans, (but mainly Mexicans! and both legals and illegals) turning downtown Van Nuys (and thousands of other small towns into unsafe, unclean, violent el Mexico-Norte!

They MUST go back! (ALL of them! We want a return to the pre-1965 demographics!)

So, the enemy is essentially millions of American white people who work in these positions, along with their non-white toadies, along with their children.

How do you propose to reverse this alleged tide of oppression against “your people” in accordance with the law? Moreover, would your proposals not interfere with their liberty to make their own racial and social decisions, along with the freedom to associate?

Please offer a cogent response to these important questions.

  248. Corvinus says:

“Until roughly the Sixties, America was homogeneous enough, overwhelmingly white, European, Anglophone, and Christian.”

Actually, America was diverse prior to the 1960′s, with a wide range of races and ethnicities. Fred makes the categorical error of lumping together as one Europeans, when in fact these groups have their own histories of hating one another. Recall that the nativists of the late 1800′s despised Eastern and Southern Europeans.

    “We hate each other.”

No, Americans may love one another, or despise one another, or appreciate one another, or steer from one another. In other words, there are different emotions.

“Countries are happiest when they have one national culture, or at least one dominant culture to which all must perforce conform. We see this in countries like Japan and Korea, homogeneous societies which, because homogeneous, have no race riots or religious wars. ”

Except America was observably NOT Japan and Korea, especially since its inception. There were different Europeans here, each with their distinct language and customs. Moreover, there were a variety of religious groups as well, each who practiced their religion in the manner they saw fit.

    “Diversity, never a good idea.”

If you want to be logically consistent, then you are going to have to take to task Europeans who chose to marry outside of their ethnicity. You do realize that is also called diversity, right?

“Massachusetts, Montana, Alabama, West Virginia, and New York were different civilizations.”

No, different states. Certainly they may have unique ways of life, but also within each state you have your differences in people, religion, and customs. Remember, Americans are mutts.

“The federal government gained in power and reach. The Supreme Court began making sweeping decisions on manners, morals and faith–that is, on culture and values–which it had not done before.

Probably because the people demanded such changes and reforms politically and socially, with the Supreme Court acting as a referee. That’s how it works.

“Now Washington–New York, really–could enforce these decisions.”

    That is Fake News.

“Particularly invasive was the newly invented doctrine of separation of church and state.”

That doctrine was put into our Constitution in 1787. Hardly “newly invented”.

“Hostility arose among native whites. who liked their culture as it was.”

Some whites. But other whites were quite open to it
