  • This is only the 34th HateHonkyGoys (HaHoGo) story I’ve read today – and I’m worried. When our children come to us and ask what did we did in the time leading up to the HaHoGo Crisis, Just Repression, and Necessary Self-Defenestration, we’ll have to answer (assuming we’re still around after diving out a window), “Gee, I can only remember thinking about handball courts for the first time in a coon’s age.”

My wife and I used to walk through a couple of the tunnels in downtown LA (before moving to a slightly different location). I mostly stopped, and she stopped entirely, after witnessing one homeless man deliberately masturbating in front of me on the sidewalk, another homeless guy sitting on the curb and defecating onto the street, and yet another who intentionally gets in my way and either pushes or makes me go around.

Every one of them African, by the way. Funny the white and Hispanic homeless people don’t seem “driven by poverty” to such disgusting, insulting, disease-spreading, civilization-destroying acts.

The cops periodically move these guys, but they merely ruin some other block and come back when they want to. The city cleans the tunnels, but does nothing to punish or confine the people who are continuously urinating, defecting, throwing food and trash on the ground, and flaunting their animal behavior in our faces, so the tunnels get quickly dirty and unhealthy again.

LA was, and could be, such a beautiful fun unique place. But by and large, it’s not anymore.

2 The Southern Strategy. The success of law and order rhetoric among working-class whites and the intense resentment of racial reforms, particularly in the South, led conservative Republican analysts to believe that a “new majority” could be created by the Republican Party, one that included the traditional Republican base, the white South, and half the Catholic, blue-collar vote of the big cities.49 Some conservative political strategists admitted that appealing to racial fears and antagonisms was central to this strategy, though it had to be done surreptitiously. H.R. Haldeman, one of Nixon’s key advisers, recalls that Nixon himself deliberately pursued a southern, racial strategy: “ Nixon emphasized that you have to face the fact that the whole problem is really the blacks. The key is to devise a system that recognizes this while not appearing to.”50 Similarly, John Ehrlichman, special counsel to the president, explained the Nixon administration’s campaign strategy of 1968 in this way: “We’ll go after the racists.”51 In Ehrlichman’s view, “that subliminal appeal to the anti-black voter was always present in Nixon’s statements and speeches.”

Republican strategist Kevin Phillips is often credited for offering the most influential argument in favor of a race-based strategy for Republican political dominance in the South. He argued in The Emerging Republican Majority, published in 1969, that Nixon’s successful presidential election campaign could point the way toward long-term political realignment and the building of a new Republican majority, if Republicans continued to campaign primarily on the basis of racial issues, using coded antiblack rhetoric.53 He argued that Southern white Democrats had become so angered and alienated by the Democratic Party’s support for civil rights reforms, such as desegregation and busing, that those voters could be easily persuaded to switch parties if those racial resentments could be maintained. Warren Weaver, a New York Times journalist who reviewed the book upon its release, observed that Phillips’s strategy largely depended upon creating and maintaining a racially polarized political environment. “Full racial polarization is an essential ingredient of Phillip’s political pragmatism. He wants to see a black Democratic party, particularly in the South, because this will drive into the Republican party precisely the kind of anti-Negro whites who will help constitute the emerging majority.

The War on Drugs proved popular among key white voters, particularly whites who remained resentful of black progress, civil rights enforcement, and affirmative action. Beginning in the 1970s, researchers found that racial attitudes—not crime rates or likelihood of victimization—are an important determinant of white support for “get tough on crime” and antiwelfare measures. 87 Among whites, those expressing the highest degree of concern about crime also tend to oppose racial reform, and their punitive attitudes toward crime are largely unrelated to their likelihood of victimization.88 Whites, on average, are more punitive than blacks, despite the fact that blacks are far more likely to be victims of crime. Rural whites are often the most punitive, even though they are least likely to be crime victims.89 The War on Drugs, cloaked in race-neutral language, offered whites opposed to racial reform a unique opportunity to express their hostility toward blacks and black progress, without being exposed to the charge of racism.
Reagan’s successor, President George Bush Sr., did not hesitate to employ implicit racial appeals, having learned from the success of other conservative politicians that subtle negative references to race could mobilize poor and working-class whites who once were loyal to the Democratic Party. Bush’s most famous racial appeal, the Willie Horton ad, featured a dark-skinned black man, a convicted murderer who escaped while on a work furlough and then raped and murdered a white woman in her home. The ad blamed Bush’s opponent, Massachusetts governor Michael Dukakis, for the death of the white woman, because he approved the furlough program. For months, the ad played repeatedly on network news stations and was the subject of incessant political commentary. Though controversial, the ad was stunningly effective; it destroyed Dukakis’s chances of ever becoming president.
Once in the Oval Office, Bush stayed on message, opposing affirmative action and aggressive civil rights enforcement, and embracing the drug war with great enthusiasm. In August 1989, President Bush characterized drug use as “the most pressing problem facing the nation.”90 Shortly thereafter, a New York Times/CBS News Poll reported that 64 percent of those polled—the highest percentage ever recorded—now thought that drugs were the most significant problem in the United States.91 This surge of public concern did not correspond to a dramatic shift in illegal drug activity, but instead was the product of a carefully orchestrated political campaign. The level of public concern about crime and drugs was only weakly correlated with actual crime rates, but highly correlated with political initiatives, campaigns, and partisan appeals.92

Rural whites are often the most punitive, even though they are least likely to be crime victims.

Maybe their views towards crime help to create places in which crime rates are low, in contrast to black don’t-snitch permisiveness and apathy towards crime, which creates Detroit.

The Weinstein stories seem pretty innocuous. He didn't try to rape them (except maybe one who he got a bit handsy with). Nope, what he did was test limits and groom them. "Would you massage me?" = "Would YOU touch ME in a semisexual manner?"

He didn't drop his drawers in the street or in a club. That would be criminal. Instead, he invited them to his bedroom (i.e. his hotel room) which they agreed to. Therefore THEY came into HIS bedroom, HIS private and intimate space.

Then he started doing bedroomy things, like getting ready to bathe, and taking his clothes off. Or maybe he made sure he was in a dressing gown/bathrobe when they showed up at his hotel room door, and yelled out, "Come on in, I'll only be a minute." and then, once they were inside, appeared, not nekkid, but with a robe that was ... umm ... loosely tied.

In short, he tested the waters ambiguously, in a non-violent but somewhat sexualized manner and gently pushed them to check their limits. They could have left at any time. He did not bar the door. He did not place their hands on his genitals.

A classic seducer. And that is the reason that he got away with it for so long. I would guess that the majority of starlets knew what he was doing, knew they were complicit, and a substantial number of them went along with it. Gradual escalation combined with complicit behavior = no law suits. Think Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.

Yes, it is. Those who have little privilege, other than having ancestors who also worked their lives for very little, are accused. It would be more accurate to speak of their "white inheritance," referring to the communities those people built for their posterity. Privilege belongs to the upper, entitled classes who are plundering the less privileged wholesale. Our estates are small but aggregated amount to trillions being intercepted from being passed on to the next generation. The end of "white privilege" will just happen to also mean the end of a middle class with enough real education, spare time and power to pose any resistance.
    , @AM

“The establishment” has a lot more jews in it now than it used to, but what changed is not that wealthy Whites are any less privileged, or any less in control, but that it’s now open season on non-wealthy Whites.

This counts as failure, as does failure to protect the borders of hard won nation-states, as does the implementation of socialism, a way to pay off the masses, as does the collapse of any meaningful belief system in the West.

There's no point in having an elite governing class if they don't even at least attempt to govern and protect the culture. They are just rich annoying people then.

Another point of Trump that freaks the elites out, besides basic honesty, is the obvious display of responsibility. It sort of works when everyone in the elites all agree the highest virtue the elite can have is make money for themselves, in exchange for pretending they don't judge by class. Trump, for all his non-elite mannerisms, makes them look like the petty, dull, and self-centered people they are as a class.

George W Bush can think of himself as noble and cowboyesque...until Trump had a Presidency, wherein he looks like the whimpy, push over, give away the store liberal he always was.

"if you believe that it failed, which I don't"

It doesn't exist anymore, does it? Isn't that failure by definition?

I remind myself of a snatch of dialogue from Metropolitan (1990) about the social system espoused by Charles Fourier:

Charlie: Fourierism was tried in the late 19th century, and it failed. Wasn't Brook Farm Fourierist? It failed.

    Tom: That's debatable.

    Charlie: Whether Brook Farm failed?

Tom: That it ceased to exist, I'll grant you. But whether or not it failed cannot be definitively said.

Charlie: Well, for me, ceasing to exist is failure. I mean, that's pretty definitive.

Tom: Well, everyone ceases to exist. Doesn't mean everyone's a failure.

I agree with Charlie. Tom uses a bit of sophistry at the end. Societies aren't individuals, and aren't mortal in the same way. Which isn't to say they're failures unless they last forever. But the mid-century Establishment was meant to last longer than the 60s, or whenever it truly fell. I think they would've considered themselves failures if you told them the New Left was going to Long March themselves into power.

    , @bartok
    >That establishment eventually failed. It tolerated segregation and sexism

That establishment eventually failed. It stopped fellow-traveling with International Communism, unlike Harvard and the New York Times.

It's the 100 year anniversary of the Russian Revolution. If you pick up a copy of the New York Times from a random date from those 100 years you will find the NYT fellow-traveling with International Communism, e.g. the warm profile of Communist Bill Ayers published the morning of Sept. 11, 2001.

"Country and blues matured influencing one another"

I agree, but I'd say that what we call "country" today, commonly viewed as white, ultimately derives from black-American music more than any other source. There are several tributary lines, three of which are white in origin: European folk/popular music, bluegrass (which to a large degree is an extension in America of European music), and Western music. The fourth line comes from black delta music, which in my opinion is the dominant line. Early "country" recordings, ones considered foundation stones of modern country music--Jimmy Rodgers, for instance--are often indistinguishable from the "black country" music of the time, i.e. the blues. If I didn't know the story and hadn't seen pictures, I'd probably guess Hank Williams was black.

Bearing in mind, of course, that before it hit the American mainstream, Southern black music was played for and by white people. Also, contemporary understanding of white country music has been irreversibly corrupted by mass media influence and especially the machinations of the recording industry.

Still, I find funny the idea that redneck country fans are carrying on black tradition, while white hipster folkies were passing down the traditions of Dead White Males.

In any other consideration, three out of four influences would make country music more white than black. But that would violate our social commandant to void all white culture as simply appropriation of non-white cultures. I think your assessment upholds that commandment, and proves that fear of violating our politically correct strictures is very strong.

You can't just add up lines of influence like that. They're not of equal size. Three of them are regular-sized tributaries, whereas the fourth is the Nile.

Following the strictures of Political Correctness in this instance happens to give you the correct answer. Black delta music has been immensely influential over American popular music, especially since the recording industry took off. What we call "country" is more blues than it is any subgenre from ultimately white sources. Just like rock and roll came more from blues and r&b than it did from the nominally white country, though it had white sources, too.

If it helps, stereotypically black music from mistrelsy on isn't as exclusively black as we're led to believe. White people had a hand in developing and popularizing it. Far and away its most famous composer is the white Stephen Foster. No one else is even close. And that's the beachhead from which various other black-created genres--jazz, ragtime, blues, r&b, rock--colonized so much of American culture.

That's one reason leftist hate minstrel music so much.

A case of Flight from Black? They're content to be connected to hip-hop nowadays, though perhaps not its vilest examples. Which makes them look far, far worse than Stepin Fetchit, in my opinion. But they'd rather fail on their own terms than succeed on white terms. And old-timey blackness is tainted with whiteness. Because in the absence of a strong sense of cultural tradition dating back to before the advent of sound recording--which I don't think blacks possess--they have to go by what's been preserved by white people. At least when we're considering stuff from more than a couple generations ago.

Blacks and white goodthinkers alike have a complex surrounding minstrelsy, and not just the blackface version. The whole deal is considered, I don't know, pandering to white people? Or something like that. The term for black popular entertainers in the later 19th and earlier 20th century is "songster," which is almost like a swear word for people who use it. We're talking beyond minstrel music, into jazz and blues. Which remain popular, for whites more than blacks maybe.

Canned Heat, a hippyish 60s rock band did a song called "Going Up the Country," memorably accompanied by African pipes. I've never heard such pipes on mainstream black music, though maybe I haven't been paying enough attention. They got the song from the old bluesman Henry Thomas, who recorded in the 20s. Listen to the recording, and it sounds like what I'd call country music. Which isn't surprising, because country derives from the blues, among other sources.

Anyway, point is 60s blues nerds were white people, and they dredged up instruments like this, which were invented by Africans. Blacks by and large don't care, and wouldn't be caught dead with other African instruments. Certainly they never put banjers on their knees.

Back in the Henry Thomas days, the talented tenth, at least, wanted respect, and as such shunned lowly country blues musicians in favor of guys like Duke Ellington. Who wrote--yes, wrote--for white instruments mostly. Not white music, because it was jazz. But respectable black music, not banjos and pipes.

As I said, they're willing to promote rap as intellectually serious, because they're degenerates. But they run away from old-timey blackness, and not just because it's tainted with white approval. Also because their roots embarrass them. Even "hot jazz," which set off the modern jazz craze--now mostly carried on by whites. How many regular blacks look at Louis Armstrong and say, "My man!"? Only using a word beside "man." And he was the boss, ya dig?

Now he's as black as the Disney Channel.

Which isn’t surprising, because country derives from the blues, among other sources.

It should be noted that black country and white country music are separate animals. White country music was derived solely from English folk music, in form long before the children of Albion ever encountered Africans. Since it also was basis for commoner hymns, it was heavy influence on black spirituals and so on the blues – not, as is generally supposed, the other way around.

Country and blues matured influencing one another. As Buddy Guy once noted, jazz isn’t African music – it’s African American music.

"It is insufficient to state the obvious of Donald Trump: that he is a white man who would not be president were it not for this fact. With one immediate exception, Trump’s predecessors made their way to high office through the passive power of whiteness—that bloody heirloom which cannot ensure mastery of all events but can conjure a tailwind for most of them. Land theft and human plunder cleared the grounds for Trump’s forefathers and barred others from it. Once upon the field, these men became soldiers, statesmen, and scholars; held court in Paris; presided at Princeton; advanced into the Wilderness and then into the White House. Their individual triumphs made this exclusive party seem above America’s founding sins, and it was forgotten that the former was in fact bound to the latter, that all their victories had transpired on cleared grounds. No such elegant detachment can be attributed to Donald Trump—a president who, more than any other, has made the awful inheritance explicit."

But it's not like Ariel and Bibi were nationalists or anything, so that's okay.

  • From the New York Times: Ms. Evans is African-American, Ms. Ramos Latino. In the 35 years between their jobs as janitors, corporations across America have flocked to a new management theory: Focus on core competence and outsource the rest. The approach has made companies more nimble and more productive, and delivered huge profits for shareholders....
  • Back in the 20th also there was a commitment to community – and country – much more than there is now. In between we were taught that all of that was silly, old-fashioned, patriotic nonsense; the very term patriotic was degraded and reimaged as synonym for racism and right-wing extremism. Today, all a CEO must do is conform to some throwaway HR rules and mouth a few platitudes about diversity and equality. …And to hell with the peasants.

  • From commenter Irish Paleo: Tory Theresa May won about 75% of the Jewish vote in the British election last June. 2. • One advantage of the new light-speed detachment our leadership class has taken from the great unwashed is that we see clearly the distinction between political vision of leaders and those of the led. Jewish leaders see their group as oppressed non-white; Jews in general, as far as the ones I know, consider themselves white. This is exactly the same viewpoint that non-whites have: to maintain cash flow and connections to political influence, non-white leaders acquiesce in fantasy that Jews are one of them – non-white; non-whites on the street see Jews just as more honkies to hate.

    Exactly.

It also sounds like a 17th century Anglo-Saxon Puritan name.

Judaizing heresy leads directly to pro-Jewish Elites, who will despise almost all 'other' white Christians.

Yes, the judenfreundlichkeit of the Puritans is the besetting problem of modernity. Funny how it didn’t prevent America from becoming the most successful society in the history of Mankind.

  • OT:

Today I met an interesting fellow who, in a rambling monologue, segued directly from a discussion of Hurricane Harvey to a play-by-play of his “mother’s first husband’s younger sister’s” escape from a Nazi concentration camp.

My only contribution to the conversation was, “I have some relatives in Corpus Christi.” This guy took that ball and ran with it: he started talking about his friend who lives in Houston and then, in short order, explained that the friend was somehow related to his mother’s first husband’s family. Then he gave me the full story of his mother’s first husband’s family’s dealings with the Nazis in Poland.

I also got a detailed accounting of his various medical problems.

  • “Classics as a discipline has deep roots in fascism and reactionary politics and white supremacy…”

So, our approach will be to render Classics no longer a discipline. It will be just another academic paper bag into which overwrought, semi-hysterical, perennially spiteful Raggedy Anns (and a few wispy males who cannot biologically be on the rag, of course) can exhale/inhale until they calm down (unlikely) or die of carbon monoxide poisoning (hopefully).

Classics is often associated with the curriculum at New England prep schools. Her big bro Mark is noted on Wiki as having excelled in the classics at Ardsley High School and then as a prize winner in classics after transferring to Phillips Exeter Academy. Sis DZ may be laying the groundwork to tell bro MZ to cut off any donations to PEA. When you've lost PEA, nobody else really matters, does it. The flagship prep school is not much more defensible than the Hamptons anyway so any skirmish would be nasty, brutish and short.

DZ may be in final editing on her magnum opus about the malign influence of the white cis-het patriarchy on temple architecture in "Samson and Judges 16:29, Delilah's Untold Story". MZ has studio contacts for appropriate casting of the mini-series.
