From the NYT Opinion page: Obviously, all those potential immigrants out there around the world are just itching to move to the middle of nowhere rather than, say, the Los Angeles Megaloplex. In a sane country, most of them would have the sense to STFU. Most of them just talk like this because they are free to and, in many cases, rewarded for it. Few of them are insane enough that they would be talking like this were there seriously unpleasant consequences for doing so.

Candace Owens is being bullied by a black woman in the New York Times because she left the ideological and political Democrat plantation and met with Kanye. Since when are invective and ad hominem acceptable forms of speech at the old gray hag?

But what was dangerous was the way Mr. West included Candace Owens, an alt-right darling, a black woman and puppet, on his broadcast from the TMZ office. Her participation was most likely arranged by alt-right operatives. A Black Lives Matter strategist hypothesized as much on his Facebook page when he noticed white power operatives taking credit for connecting the two.

If Rachel Dolezal wasn't interested in social activism and went into some other line of work, she wouldn't have felt the need to alter her appearance to seem Black. She'd be just some less-hot version of Brie Larson who works in a cubicle somewhere.

To Vox's credit (I am trying hard to be charitable), they did directly link to that NR article.

SJWs up to their usual tricks:

After an uproar, National Review fired Derbyshire, with editor Rich Lowry writing, “Derb has long danced around the line on these issues, but this column is so outlandish it constitutes a kind of letter of resignation. It’s a free country, and Derb can write whatever he wants, wherever he wants. Just not in the pages of NR or NRO, or as someone associated with NR any longer.”

Six years later, similar views are being espoused by another National Review contributor, who has previously written for a site dedicating to promoting the views of the alt-right and whose views were too extreme for the very conservative Heritage Foundation.

I’ve reached out to Lowry, National Review’s editor-in-chief, and National Review Online editor Charles C.W. Cooke for comment and will update if I receive a response.

It is telling that comments are allowed at the NR article but not at the Vox article.

In the glorious Progressive Future that the Voxers imagine, comments are not allowed because they are filled with Racist Wrongthink.

When forced, therefore, to resort to arms for redress, an appeal to the tribunal of the world was deemed proper for our justification. This was the object of the Declaration of Independence. Not to find out new principles, or new arguments, never before thought of, not merely to say things which had never been said before; but to place before mankind the common sense of the subject, in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent, and to justify ourselves in the independent stand we are compelled to take.

  • @Wilkey
In 1980, by comparison, the United States welcomed more than 200,000 refugees.

And in November 1980 a governor of Arkansas named William Jefferson Clinton paid a political price for the admission of all of those refugees when he lost his bid for re-election. You'd think the Democrats would take a lesson from that - that mass immigration won't always work out in their favor.

And by the way, why is it that any new record with regards to immigration somehow has to become the floor going forward? Why does the number of refugees we admitted in 1980 somehow matter more than the number we admitted in, oh, 1964, 1928, 1953, or 2017?

When it comes to immigration our Congress budgets like drunken sailors - they don't. We need to set a limit on how many immigrants we admit in any given year - say 250,000 - and then Congress needs to decide how to allocate those visas. Want to admit 250,000 refugees? Well fine - but that means no temporary workers, no "family reunification," or anything else.

That was back when Dems needed around 50% of white people to vote for them. Those days are gone.

That is surely worse than Mexicans trying to turn California Mexican again.

Btw, fewer immigrants means the original peoples of America, the Indian or Native Americans, get to keep America a little more red.

What is the Indian opinion on this matter?

Indians feel it was a tragedy to lose their lands to whites. But they also feel whites built a great nation.
So, as long as Americanism was about peace and rapprochement between whites and Indians, it was good for both sides. Whites took land from Indians but recognize Indians as a people with special claim to America. So, whites need to respect Indians and take good care of the precious land, one of triumph for whites and tragedy for Indians.

But endless massive immigration totally destroys that narrative. And it breaks the covenant between whites and reds. Reds accepted defeat and ceded the land to whites on condition that whites remain good custodians of it.

But white elites have gone nuts. They're in shopoholic mode. They are despoiling America by flooding it with more and more people. Worse, as American culture is now so decrepit, these new arrivals turn into gross idiots.

It's one thing to see things as consumer items. Things are bought, used, and disposed all the time.
But when consumerism becomes the metaphor for everything, then even Americans aren't merely consumers but consumer items themselves. They also exist to be disposed of and replaced by New Americans. Elites really think this way. Statue of Liberty has become a shopoholic lady addicted to acquiring New Americans like some rich shopohlic woman who always has to buy new shoes and dresses. What she has in her closet is boring since they are 'old'. The excitement comes only with getting New Items. Since New becomes Old once they're acquired, there is an endless demand for newer and newer. Americans are no longer people with history and culture. They are either transient consumers or consumer items. Like people in a movie theater must make way for the new audience, white Americans must make way for New Americans. Or white Americans are like a burger in the stomach. It must be pushed out by bowel movement to be replaced by new burgers. They have no right of continuity and history. No people are allowed that except for Jews and Israel.

This consumer mentality has infected elites when it comes to Americans. They regard existing Americans as old shoes in the closet. They are madly fixated on acquiring new pairs.
Hardly surprising in a culture dominated by homosexuals insanely obsessed with glitz and fashion. After all, there is no dirtier word than old-fashioned in the fashion world.

American Indians are almost fullly onboard the Coalition of Racebaiters, so I don’t think they care about immigration. They want us gone like we made them gone.

Then again, red nationalists failed to learn that complete racial exclusivity has made them a footnote in American history. I'd be surprised if they learned any new lessons.

  • One of the more hilariously flagrant exercises in Newspeak manipulativeness by the press is calling illegal alien minors (and, now, ex-minors) "dreamers." This comes from Durbin and Hatch's backronym Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act. From Wikipedia:
  • @Brabantian
On 'aliens and minors' - horrifying legal case in Sweden, also here, about a middle-aged divorced Swedish mother, working at a migrant home, who took one of the young male Afghan migrants home as her boyfriend ... and then let the Afghan molest her age 12 daughter

Woman refused to report the sexual assualt or get rid of her Afghan squeeze ... daughter at school refused to go home until her divorced father was contacted, who called the police. Swedish authorities refused to deport or imprison the Afghan but told him to do '100 hours of community service' & pay a few shekels ... mother is still pimping for the Afghan, despite his sexual violation of her own pre-teen child

And by the way, the rapist-indulging mother has registered herself as a 'Me, Too! anti-sexual-harassment feminist'. Mid-life European women using the young male migrants as sexual boy-toys is an apparently widespread rampant problem, tho this is one of the most sickening cases of it.

The European 'statues of liberty', it is said, are live European females, eagerly seeking to expand the local pool of young males who are more manly and aggressive than the typical cucky shite-lib Euro-blokes, hence the masses of women holding 'refugees welcome' banners with dreamy looks on their faces, whilst the males around them rather prove the point by going meekly along with the mass migration programme

If beautiful under-25 women were the vast majority of the refugees, these white feminist harpies would be demanding Gatling guns at the borders to kill them.

A reasonable amount of immigrant women are young East and SE Asian. Some are pretty, some are pretty enough for old perverts. Many are forward enough to make the first move, which is the big attraction to shy nerds.

I don't see any of this causing white feminist harpies to issue the demands you indicate. Apathy and laze is a defining feature of our time. Luxury creates decadence and I don't think there has been an era before in history as decadent as this one. Maybe the opium era in China was comparable in that a potent narcotic simulated the states of our lives, but that was one that targeted the pleasure centers of the brain directly.

While many of us struggle to afford to have a family of much size, we have so much to entertain us. Internet porn, mobile phones, movie streaming services, the world's best music with our musical history at exceptional quality nearly free or free, computer and console games, VR, sex robots, restaurants that compete to increase the pleasure of food, in fact every product and service that ruthlessly competes to provide an easier life.

These feminist harpies can't do much more than write a hashtag and apply a facebook profile filter.

And what do I do, other than write internet comments on iSteve? I suppose I plant the occasional good idea here. The zeitgeist is definitely changing.

My grandparents and great grandparents came from Naples, Italy around 1900 when that "hole" was said to produce dirty, sneaky, criminally inclined immigrants. They were, to use the racist parlance of the day, "greaseballs."

What is sad to me is that many of the people I know who still, amazingly, support Trump, have family backgrounds like mine. And these third generation "greaseballs", "micks" and "polaks" forget where they came from and what was said about their ancestors.

Trump and his supporters truly do not get it. If 100 years from now the entire nation is a beautiful combination of brown and black and yellow, but still guided by the entire constitution and all of its ideals then the United States will continue to be the beacon of the world. If, on the other hand, 100 years from now the nation is ruled by a white elite that has closed its borders and trampled on the ideals of the 1st and 14th and many other amendments, then we will be a second rate nation with nothing to offer a hot divided world. What a s***hole place that will be.

Or Mehmet Oz, the friend of Oprah/ heart surgeon/talk show host.

Really, the visa lottery and chain migration make much more sense when you're dealing with higher quality countries, because the odds are higher that the nth Norwegian lottery winner or relative of a current resident will be a high potential immigrant than the nth Haitian will be. And Norway has more high potential people to spare than Haiti does.

So, if someone tells Trump about the Human Development Index, he can offer to keep the visa lottery and chain migration, but only for countries ranked higher than the U.S., since immigrants from those countries will be more likely to improve our ranking.

Not everyone wants to end it, however. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus have sought to ensure that immigration could continue in some form from African countries that have benefited from the green card lottery in recent years.

  • From New York Mag: Andrew Sullivan: The Issue That Could Lose the Next Election for Democrats By Andrew Sullivan, October 20, 2017 9:21 am I don’t believe it’s disputable at this point that the most potent issue behind the rise of the far right in America and Europe is mass immigration. It’s a core reason...

Just so. Just as there were no automatic rifles in 1789, there was no Internet to put your message out where everyone in the world can see it. Banning the first and not the second only makes sense if you think guns are inherently bad.

I for one am glad that if the day comes when I see a mob burning down houses on the next block, I won't have to wait until they're at the foot of my driveway and be limited to one shot per minute with my musket.

  • The New York Times has an article on the four ethnic flavors of new ads for the new 2018 Toyota Camry: black, Asian, Latino, and "transcultural mainstream," which, I have to admit, is a new term for me. The Camry has been the biggest selling sedan in the U.S. for the last 15 years (although...
  • Has a car ad actually ever convinced someone to buy said car? Doesn’t everyone just go with the cheapest that has all the features you want and/or the easiest to maintain? Am I the only one who does that?

You're not the only one that does that, but given all the car ads, it seems like they work at some level.

Given the sales people over the years, they do seem to assume some sort of random decision making process.

Everyone seems to think that they are immune from advertising but they aren't. If you are a car company (or almost any consumer product manufacturer) try cutting your ad budget to zero and watch what happens to your sales.

  • The plight of Puerto Rico has become the Left’s pet cause all of a sudden in a ridiculous attempt to make this Trump’s Katrina moment. The only reason we even have the silly place is because of the Spanish American War, which I assume most Lefties think was evil and 100% our fault to begin with.

  • Movies usually take at least two years to go from conception to completion, even with all the money in the world behind them. For example, the sequel to the August 2014 surprise hit Guardians of the Galaxy arrived in theaters in May 2017, 33 months after the original. So, it's obvious that all the Oscar-bait...

An even more direct and unsubtle Hollywood tackling of Trump is this from Morgan Freeman:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uz9PNoecNxU

This is the brainchild of a neocon gang calling itself "The Committee to Investigate Russia" (serious), with Max Boot being the head of this.

Anyone want to take a guess how much time Freeman spent worrying about KGB agents and Russian influence before Donald Trump ran for President?
