From Bloomberg: We need "more aggression by the United States" to ensure access to the Sahel's strategically vital laterite deposits. Or something. With Niger having the world's highest Total Fertility Rate, we'll be sure of having a never ending supply of migrants from there. How's Nigerien cuisine? We'll probably be seeing lots of Nigerien restaurants...

What happened to the trump who was going to get us out of these co$tly far flung foolish no win military drills?

You will have to excuse me if i dont feel things like this are protecting my freedom, or whatever patriotic emotion or pride im supposed to be feeling. Aint feelin it.

That Lindsay! is advocating war, and Bloomberg is giving him a platform, doesn’t mean war will come.

    >>Lindsay! wants WAR!!!!

There is definitely overcompensating on the part of Lindsay. It's downright comical when he gets on TV and puts on that serious, take-no-shit tough guy act. I believe that I have lost all respect for the people of South Carolina that they could continually elect this flake as their Senator.

  • More on the hurt feelings of the Power Posing blonde at Harvard Business School. It turns out that she hacked her results not because she wanted a nice career as a motivational speaker. (Whoever heard of a Harvard Business School professor who cares about money?) No, she did it to fight White Male Oppression. From...

I wonder what the social justice movement in the social sciences is going to do when the scientific problems with stereotype threat and implicit bias are finally fully acknowledged?

What's Plan B for explaining how it is that women and minorities just can't seem to achieve on the same levels as white or Asian men?

Where can the amazingly potent but mystic force of Patriarchy and Systemic Racism lie? How can it be both so powerful and utterly undetectable at the same time? It's as if it hides in some microscopic entities that we can't see. Like genes, say.

Whatever their plan B is, society as a whole is going to return to open acknowledgement of sex and race differences (which were common wisdom before WWII due to their obviousness).

It’s already happening, thanks mostly to the Internet, which is why the left is starting to advocate suppression of free speech in the US (and has succeeded in criminalizing speech in Europe).

  • Interesting how the whole schtick the elites are pushing ties together. Doesn’t Cuddy’s power pose have an uncanny resemblance to the absurd Fearless Girl statue, itself a PR attempt to cover for State Street’s violation of feminist employment dogmas? (Being later, Girl was likely derivative of Cuddy, if there was an inspirational connection.)

  • From the New York Times: Does anybody ever notice how ludicrously small these amounts are?
  • @Buzz Mohawk

Does anybody ever notice how ludicrously small these amounts are?

    In a word, yes.

Sometimes one gets the same sense about stories of campaign contributions. "So-and-so gave $1,000 to a campaign, and three other lawyers on his team gave between $250 and $2,000" misses the mark. Legal limits on individual donations make it so that the real stories involve bundling and PACs.

Reports on Weinstein and Mueller both often make this mistake.

As for Russian efforts to effect American anything, those acts are no different from what most governments do. The US is probably the biggest player, doing it more than anybody else.

“So-and-so gave $1,000 to a campaign, and three other lawyers on his team gave between $250 and $2,000″ misses the mark.

Except insofar as it exposes partisan enthusiasm of the literal money-where-mouth-is variety, such as among a large swath of Mueller’s political hench/hitmen.

That is true -- and alarming -- in the case of Mueller and his team.

In Weinstein's case, however, it doesn't give any indication at all of how he has influenced American politics and popular thought. I'm learning more about that by reading iSteve now than I have ever seen anywhere else. Before this, Harvey to me was just a big, fat asshole who lived in my old town and came into my office a couple of times. (Lots of people around there have Harvey Weinstein stories. He exemplifies a certain type of entitled prick that lives there.)

  • From the New York Times' column by David Brooks: How about citizenship? How exactly can McCain's long campaign to debase American citizenship by spreading it to lawbreakers
  • @Broski

If it’s the Joooos your talking about, Brooks pretty well dissociated himself from the Tribe after falling in with a charismatic Christian evangelical woman (NTTAWWT) and dumping his wife and family for her.

The shiksa goddesses strike again! Really, could Brooks be any more of a stereotype?

Ha! For once the shrews at Wonkette write something entertaining, a screed from an angry Jewish woman about Brooks’s new wife stealing him with her “youthful puss”:

@56 Vinay: "Whatever the sins of immigration policy, it’s certainly *preserving* the scarcity of American citizenship. World population growth has consistently outstripped US population growth for at least a century."

Yeah, gee, we are merely third in the world in terms of population. We really should be working harder to keep up with international power-houses India and China by importing more Indians and Chinese. Oh wait, we are! And meanwhile quality and satisfaction with life are decreasing and intercultural conflict and stress are increasing.

Hmmmn, wasn't there a rather recent thread where AM asserted my point and the famously non-tribal Jack D felt compelled to "correct" her?

And besides which, Steve has noted that White people neither breed nor thrive in captivity (or extremely crowded locales). Your cultural heritage is obviously different - yet another example of how "citizenism" is an incoherent philosophy resting on a belief in multiculturalism utterly at odds with the reality of HBD.

Exactly. Per capita quality of live is what matters, not total quantity of humans. How can people be so stupid as not to realize this?

Donald Trump and the campus multiculturalists want to organize people by ethnic tribe, which has always been the menacing temptation throughout our history.

Trump and the campus multiculturalists want to organize people by ethnic tribe because that's how people tend to naturally organize. That natural segregation is not a "temptation", it's a tribal instinct. That natural segregation is not "menacing", it's been the norm throughout history for various tribes across the globe.

What's "menacing" is the plan to disregard human nature and history in order to ram into place a new world view that is sure to cause extreme social tension and conflict.

What’s “menacing” is the plan to disregard human nature and history in order to ram into place a new world view that is sure to cause extreme social tension and conflict.

From Marxism, to Gould/Lewontin’s blank slatism, to the extreme capitalism of the Chicago school (humans are rationally calculating automatons who are subject to an infallible and automatically functioning invisible hand), to Freudianism (we can talk our way to perfection), to feminism (we can make men and women the same), most of the extreme, delusional movements of post-Enlightenment history have had as their animating force Jewish desire to transcend the problems inherent in Jewishness and its attendant pathologies.

The glaring exception–national socialism–was an extreme, largely delusional gentile attempt to solve the perceived problems of Jewishness.

Brooks can't say that immigrants must assimilate to our culture in order to become Americans. No, that would be politically incorrect, racist, and downright Nazi-like, so he forces us all to go look up his ancient Greek vocabulary word of the day, paideia.

With this arcane word, he is implying that newcomers can just waltz across our borders, enroll in our paideia of enculturation, and thereby become part of a golden balance, a diverse excellence in which e pluribus unum meets arete. (Go look up the Greek word arete, Mr. Brooks. I learned it in Poli Sci 100.)

Sorry Dave, cheap laborers from the third world aren't Greek philosophers. Not gonna happen.

Jewish overuse of antique terminology betrays their low class nouveaux riche status. Yes, David, you’ve read a book at Aryan college. Its equivalent to a low class Anglo over-pronouncing French in an ironically backfired attempt to signal social status, patent leather shoes at an event that requires a “tux”, and wearing labels. I would bet that his bookshelf is full of dusty classics with unbroken spines, and that perhaps he considered “xanthippe” for the name of some creature in his household.

Hollywood isn't of the slightest interest to me. (I don't recall ever hearing the name Harvey Weinstein before this unsurprising scandal hit a week or two ago.) So at the risk of having missed a dot, the article comes across as mishmash, tacking onto this month's Outrage of the Year a whimsy about pedo-proofing mass entertainment with synthetic children. And yes, I saw the buried disclaimer, but casual readers may be left with the misimpression that Mr. Weinstein has been accused of preying upon little kids. Again, I may be missing something, as the author or others can now point out.

I am a big fan of Mr. Sailer and several others published here. It's good that he has another forum for tacky stuff.

Sailer publishes in Taki’s on Wednesdays. Sometimes it’s his best stuff that he’s been pondering for a while, and sometimes it’s current events. Often the articles are movie reviews.

As you can see from the relative number of comments, Taki’s draws more traffic than this site, so a lot of Sailer’s great material goes up there.

Also, while it may not seem significant to you, drawing attention to the existing layers of the Hollywood sex-abuse onion would be of great service to society. If, as has long been rumored, there are pedophile rings at the highest levels of Hollywood operating nearly openly, that would be an important thing for society to know.

Ashkenazi men are, like black men, outmarrying at higher rates than their women. To the extent Ashkenazi women outmarry it’s often to a black or other non-white, rather than a hated Teutonic. (Men to whites/Asians, usually, unless they’re particularly unattractive like Krugman.)

“A country that is politically pluralistic, open to new ideas and new people, ethnically diverse, and respectful of religious difference, is a country that will naturally be safer for Jews than a country that is none of these things,” I wrote in March of last year,........

And such a country will naturally NOT be better and will NOT be safer for me and my people - the people whose ancestors founded this country. Why is that so difficult for Jews like Jamie Kirchik to understand? Or does he just not care? Is it that they only care about their own people, and the rest of us be damned.

Miller would hardly be alone in fearing how Hispanic immigration will change America. But these were the same fears that the restrictionists of yesteryear raised about Stephen Miller’s ancestors.

And, given the actions of Jamie Kirchik and many others like him, woud they have been wrong about his ancestors?

............well, we Jews have a word for all this: chutzpah.

And why is it exactly that you have a special word for it? Does that come in handy a lot?

“And such a country will naturally NOT be better and will NOT be safer for me and my people – the people whose ancestors founded this country. Why is that so difficult for Jews like Jamie Kirchik to understand? Or does he just not care?”

He does not care. To the extent Jews like Kirchick feel tinges of guilt for what they’re doing, there’s a huge justification industry alleging that whites’ various historical transgressions are inconceivably and uniquely bad, and therefore whites deserve neither empathy nor sympathy.

Susan Sontag provided an expression of this projection dynamic with her statement that whites are a cancer on humanity. Similarly, flyover whites are hate hate hated because of all the propaganda against them.

I like Jews, individually. For most smart gentiles Jews are much more enjoyable company than dumb gentile jocks, or proles, or the old WASP elites earning gentleman’s Cs at the Ivies. But this statement perfectly encapsulates why Jews are a powerful subversive influence literally everywhere they go in the West.

An ethnocentric market-dominant minority will always have some interests different from those of their hosts. They will use their power to serve the interests of their small number of people at the expense of the far greater number of their hosts. Jews are ethnocentric and market-dominant par excellence, so they acquire and use more political power per capita than any other group in human history, and so serve as a staggeringly subversive influence in the West.

As Spock might say, “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.” The 12 million global Jews are causing great harm to the ~600 million members of global Europa because most of them, intrinsically–at an emotional level–share Kirchick’s attitude. He knows “what’s good for the Jews.”

It's actually amazing how so much of the South isn't very Southern anymore. Lots of major Southern metros (Atlanta, Charlotte, Raleigh, Houston, Dallas, Austin) are just generic American metros. There are a surprising number of Hispanics, Asians, Indians, Africans, Eastern Euros, and other "diverse" immigrant ethnicities in these places. There are also LOTS of Yankees. Plenty of blacks too, but I'd expect the South to have many blacks. I wouldn't expect Mexicans, Vietnamese, Koreans, and Indians. This has played a role in why the Democrats are so competitive these days in Georgia, Texas, and North Carolina.

I remember after the Charlotesville clash took place, CNN interviewed some Indian/Bangladeshi subcontinental woman. She apparently had spent many years as a university student in the city and claimed it was very progressive.

Even "old" Southern cities are often surprisingly diverse. Nashville has a very large Mexican population and even a "little Kurdistan." There are less diverse Southern cities, but many of them are majority black.

If these people whom you've read about actually cared about being correct, they would have abandoned their Anglicanism in their early adulthood like Ronald Knox, which is to say, as soon as they were capable of reflecting upon its theological errors. The fact that they are willing to switch creeds now only to avoid the cultural rot, while doing so is good in itself, actually displays a lack of genuine religious attitude. (Novus Ordo Catholics, by the way, commit an equal and opposite error by stubbornly sticking with the institutional Church despite it having adopted the heresies of Vatican II.) If the implication is that they would have gone happily along with the Church of England as long as she continued to look and act high-church conservative, their principled stand against heresy is less than convincing.

The problem with the Catholic Neotraditionalists like George Weigel and presumably yourself, AM, is that they reduce all their theology to its cultural embodiments, and metaphysics or theology as such plays no part in it.

No, not really. Still smarting over not getting that theology right with dude with the 100 kids? Sorry.

    Um….Anglicanism is heresy.

Anglicanism is more schism than heresy. The only heresy introduced was the divorce that King Henry the VIII wanted. The schism was rejecting papal authority.

CS Lewis had difficultly getting married to a divorced woman in the 1940′s, because culturally the Catholic morals had still held all the way until then. I went to both Catholic and Episcopalian Masses as a kid on Christmas…and basically it was the same format, but the Episcopalian Mass was nicer. Now with women priests and “rainbow” junk, it’s toast from theological standpoint.

There was also a deliberate messing of apostolic succession, but I like to think the Creator of Heaven and Earth could repair that.

(Novus Ordo Catholics, by the way, commit an equal and opposite error by stubbornly sticking with the institutional Church despite it having adopted the heresies of Vatican II.)

Vatican II did not introduce heresies. Priests and Bishops have used VII to preach heresies, but nothing in the documents changed anything about the Magisterium. Rome is well within it’s rights to change the Mass (the liturgy). VII was not the first time it’s ever done so by the way, it just hadn’t changed things for a very long.

The bottom line is if you think you’re going to Heaven because you go to Latin Mass, well check in with what Jesus thought about the Pharisees. The reverence for God is with your heart and mind, not the form of the Mass. God is not limited to the Latin Mass, nor in his powers to save to particular human form.

Speaking of good and bad noticing, here's the latest from Nature Human Behaviour on bad noticing:

To sum up, while noticing patterns (taking base rates into account) typically yields more accurate judgments about individuals, it is often morally wrong and even illegal to notice patterns. Therefore, the authors, anchored by the permanently aggrieved Mahzarin Banaji (an Indian-born Parsi and endowed Harvard professor of the IAT fame) set out to correct this pernicious (their word) imperfection in normative brain function, which they euphemistically call "base rate intrusion".

That is because they are culturally suicidal.

You cannot stop any of this with democracy or with more secularism. You cannot slow it briefly by pitting Jews against Moslems or Moslems against Jews. You cannot slow it briefly by hoping gays will support you against Moslems. Nor can you slow it by submitting to Islamic rule to avoid Queer Theocracy.

The chickens of the Reformation that encouraged cultural and linguistic Germanics (And that includes Anglo-Saxons) to return to the vomit of their pagan ways of thinking and doing are coming home to roost.

Every part of Europe, and the colonies of Europe around the globe, faces cultural suicide. The only way out is to repent of the Reformation and embrace Christendom.

Your implication that the Reformation was heresy and Catholicism is true Christianity is dubious. Your argument is that only Catholicism can save global Europa from suicide? The papists are the ones who’ve demanded America throw open her borders to hordes of third worlders because said third worlders are Catholic and can enlarge the Church’s shrinking American community. The papists are the ones who’ve fought every effort to have third worlders adopt sensible birth control policies, again because their real politik strategy is to increase the number of tithe payers at any cost to society at large. The popes, Francis perhaps more than any other, are politicians at the head of a political institution.

(This is the same “Christianity,” remember, that facilitated who-knows-how-many molestations rather than face political scrutiny. That was 10-15 years ago. And let’s not forget the women’s and children’s homes in Ireland several decades ago. These are but two recent of the endless litany of shocking Catholic Church abuses.)

3rd worlders don't use birth control. They are suspicious of it. I'm sorry to rain on everyone's parade, but Africa's problems are not solved by throwing condoms at them. They sit in there in boxes or get used improperly because...get this: Africans are not Europeans. Crazy.

Anyway, it's not like America's issues been solved with contraception. There is sound evidence that wide spread contraceptive use increases rates of promiscuity, disease and abortion. Conversely, married couples are no longer reproducing the population.

Meanwhile, the Catholic church says, only as many children as you can reasonably support. That's the actual teaching. That doesn't sound like tithe payers at any cost to me. And at any rate, the major supporters of any modern church are always old people. Young people have to feed all those children, remember?

That's why the Catholic church is not quite going down yet - they've lost all the young people (so much for big families) but the old people keep putting their donations. Starting in about 10-15 years the local stories will be nothing but parish closing after parish closing as the old die off. That's already started in the north.

The movie begins, basically, on Calvary Hill, as a Mary is torn screaming from her son Jesus. In his agony, he screams, and the fence in front of him begins magically to pull toward him. In this manner, Jesus and a character modeled after Judas Iscariot learn of the existence of mutant superpowers.

Yup there's nothing blasphemous about using world historical tragedy as a cheap plot point for a sci-fi movie.

Jerry Lewis tried to make a movie set in Auschwitz and he gave up. Some places are just too holy to use as plot devices for Hollywood movies.

Yup there’s nothing blasphemous about using world historical tragedy as a cheap plot point for a sci-fi movie. Jerry Lewis tried to make a movie set in Auschwitz and he gave up. Some places are just too holy to use as plot devices for Hollywood movies.

“. . . . Too holy to use as a plot device for Hollywood movies”? Now that’s a laugh line if ever there was one. I’d make a joke about it, except that Kate Winslet and Ricky Gervais already did one far better than I’ll probably ever manage:

Ricky Gervais: “I’d just like to say you doing this is so commendable. You know, using your profile to keep the message alive about the Holocaust.”

Kate Winslet: “My God I’m not doing it for that. I mean, I don’t think we need another film about the Holocaust, do we? It’s like, how many have there been? No, we get it, it was grim, move on. No, I’m doing this because I’ve noticed that if you do a film about the Holocaust, guaranteed an Oscar. I’ve been nominated four times. Never won. The whole world is going, ‘Why hasn’t Winslet won one?’ …’Schindler’s List.’ ‘The Piano.’ Oscars coming out their arse.”

Holocaust films are so ubiquitous now that they could almost qualify as a subgenre in Hollywood. Even your point about Jerry Lewis falls flat when I can think of two comedies right off the top of my head that used concentration camps as a setting, “Life is Beautiful” and “Jakob the Liar.” They even managed to get an underaged sex drama out of it (“The Reader”) and that’s to say nothing of the Holocaust S&M exploitation flick that I already mentioned (again, “The Night Porter”). After all of that, having it make an appearance in a superhero film is small beer. You should’t take it personally, and for what it’s worth, tell Podhoretz that he shouldn’t either; all it means is that show biz now plunders Auschwitz for material just as freely as it does pretty much everything else that is in existence.

The Weinstein stories seem pretty innocuous. He didn't try to rape them (except maybe one who he got a bit handsy with). Nope, what he did was test limits and groom them. "Would you massage me?" = "Would YOU touch ME in a semisexual manner?"

He didn't drop his drawers in the street or in a club. That would be criminal. Instead, he invited them to his bedroom (i.e. his hotel room) which they agreed to. Therefore THEY came into HIS bedroom, HIS private and intimate space.

Then he started doing bedroomy things, like getting ready to bathe, and taking his clothes off. Or maybe he made sure he was in a dressing gown/bathrobe when they showed up at his hotel room door, and yelled out, "Come on in, I'll only be a minute." and then, once they were inside, appeared, not nekkid, but with a robe that was ... umm ... loosely tied.

In short, he tested the waters ambiguously, in a non-violent but somewhat sexualized manner and gently pushed them to check their limits. They could have left at any time. He did not bar the door. He did not place their hands on his genitals.

A classic seducer. And that is the reason that he got away with it for so long. I would guess that the majority of starlets knew what he was doing, knew they were complicit, and a substantial number of them went along with it. Gradual escalation combined with complicit behavior = no law suits. Think Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky.

Weinstein, Jared Fogel, Woody Allen, Polanski . . . It’s almost like the stereotype of the lecherous Jew poorly acquainted with the concept of consent has a basis in reality.

Stereotypes are often useful, but sometimes they're vague/not widely held enough that they aren't. For instance, this runs up against the contrary (and I think much more prevalent) stereotype of the "nice Jewish guy", who is meek, nerdy, introverted, etc. and barely can manage to ask a woman out on a date.

Do you think that if you had granular enough data to compare the rates at which white ethnic groups commit violent sex crimes, you would find that Jews do so at higher rates than Italians, Irish, Scots-Irish, etc.?

On the contrary, I think meek men who can barely manage to ask a woman on a date are most likely to harbor the resentments that lead to sexual sadism, an expression of which is rape/abuse. This is why women find betas to be “creepy sexual harassers” and alphas to be sexy.

Jared Fogle would be a perfect example. Similarly, we can assume that Harvey wasn’t killing it with the shiksas back in high school (or even the JAPs).

“Do you think that if you had granular enough data to compare the rates at which white ethnic groups commit violent sex crimes, you would find that Jews do so at higher rates than Italians, Irish, Scots-Irish, etc.?”

An interesting question, and of course nobody has collected the data. But in my experience, Jews tend to be particularly aggressive and selfish on average, as compared to gentile Europa and Asians. That those tendencies would spill over into the mating realm seems plausible.

But violent sex crimes may mischaracterize the scenario. Jews certainly don’t jump out of the bushes and rape strangers, like blacks tend to. Jews would probably be cowardly about their abuse, and only engage in abuse where they are likely to go undetected due to a great imbalance of power, e.g. a hollywood mogul and a young starlet, or an extended family member. There has been a scandal among Brooklyn rabbis molesting children in the Jewish community recently, but unsurprisingly it has not escaped the local press.

Indeed, the only one that’s credible for President is Kamala Harris, who boned her way into politics when she more effectively could induce boners 20 years ago.

Kamala Harris seems to be a prime example of the Manosphere's critic of the modern feminist, the Alpha F*cks and Beta Bucks fantasy.

Her political career got "jump started" by being Willie Brown's girlfriend

Kamala Harris got her political start as the girlfriend of California Assembly Speaker Willie Brown. She was 29, he was 60 and he helped advance her career with political patronage.

The Brown-Harris affair didn’t last long. She was spotted dating talk show host Montel Williams in 2001

Despite voter registration rolls that showed Democrats outnumbering Republicans statewide by some thirteen percent, Los Angeles District Attorney Steve Cooley led Harris by 34,000 votes after more than 7 million were counted. But after provisional ballots were counted, she was declared the winner by approximately 50,000 votes.

Harris is now married to a successful connected Jewish attorney. Harris has no children of her own, so like Muti Merkel she could probably care less if America is further wrecked by Open Borders.

Calexit, even the word itself, is stupid. California is not Britain, a country with a 1000+ year history as a sovereign nation. America tried secession once and the result was a bloody Civil War. We now have a highly integrated national economy and separation would be even harder than it was 150 years ago.

We are supposed to have a Federal system where the states have considerable power over local matters and the Federal government is only supposed to deal with certain spheres of national interest such as defense. That's how it's supposed to be but over the last 80 years the Federal government has invaded every sphere of life and has sucked up the bulk of tax revenues. I wouldn't mind going back to our original Federal system, but for all 50 states, not just Cal.

Hillary's "deplorables" rhetoric was deplorable for many reasons, which I don't feel like getting into here, but that doesn't make your comment less stupid. The people she was talking about are net drains on society, economically and socially. She clearly did not mean "all whites" or even "all Trump voters." The worst aspect of her comment wasn't the accurate description of many Trump supporters, but rayher the unstated premise that the Democrat base doesn't have at least as many "deplorables" as Trump's base does. "Deplorability" knows no political or demographic bounds.

Blacks don't really care about other blacks. While all groups share ethnic loyalty, the black community is the easiest to get to start turning on one another, as they have little group cohesion beyond rioting/mob attacks. Black snitches aren't that highly rewarded by the authorities, and aren't even that harshly punished by other blacks, since other blacks would've been willing to snitch themselves. The moment black men get some upward mobility they immediately head out; if they can't find one of the dwindling black upper-middle class communities to their liking, the black men will grab the first non-black woman who takes them in and say sayonara to black women for good.

Jarrett, et al. will raise hue and cry over a black neighborhood being "gentrified", but only if she thinks she can shake the developers down for more money. Her lone real threat is a black "demonstration" that she hopes will get out of hand enough to scare developers into paying her danegeld. This is partly why corporations seek to get the Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson seal of approval via payoffs to them---not because Al/Jesse are helping blacks, but because Al/Jesse can start a riot in the parking lot.

As for Obama, he never was a black guy in his mind; he only started playing up his blackness as an adult to win Chicago (and later Presidential) politics. It's a learned trait for him to go to racial animus; he was always happy to be the exotic-token black friend to whites and yellows who acted exactly as they did. He's a lazy island boy who skated by on his ability to read teleprompters decently and didn't care all that much about anything else besides the boy in the mirror---that boy that neither of his parents cared very much for in their lives.

Blacks don’t really care about other blacks. While all groups share ethnic loyalty, the black community is the easiest to get to start turning on one another, as they have little group cohesion beyond rioting/mob attacks.

Then why are they the most monolithic voting block (96-1 or something for Obama, and 90-10 normally)?

We know the underlying strategy of the Ds is the coalition of the fringes, with which Steve came up, but why is it that all the leaders are so ancient? Most of them are in their 70s, and the only ones under 60 are minorities. I'm reminded of Ben Franklin's reply to Mrs. Powell after emerging from the Constitutional Convention in Independence Hall:

"Well doctor, do we have a monarchy or a republic?"

"A republic madam, if you can keep it!"

Looks like we'll end up losing it. But a small "r" republic of limited representative government seems to be the rare exception in world history, so it was probably inevitable. Much more common since settled societies began emerging is vacillating alternatively between oligarchy and autocracy.

"Earlier Sunday, news outlets reported that the Department of Justice had opted not to pursue a federal civil rights prosecution of former officer Stockley. The decision was made a year ago, but the department waited to announce it until after Friday’s verdict in the criminal case."

The crazy thing about the Stockley case, regardless of its underlying merits, is that the shooting occurred in 2011, and only after the BLM insanity did a political hack prosecutor reopen the case and pursue charges in 2015. The case sat there for 4 years before the political hack decided to make an issue out of it due to the then-prevalent media/Obama climate.

They also had the cheek to suggest that the University of New Mexico isn't "diverse" enough, despite being over 50% Hispanic, and that standardized testing is a "system of segregation":

The elite college population will reflect the country’s overall demographics only when schools “blow up the system” of admissions, said Sheryll Cashin, a professor of law at Georgetown University and an expert on affirmative action. She proposed eliminating the consideration of standardized test scores and ending legacy admissions for the children of alumni.

“The elite schools are participating in and propagating the system of segregation,” Ms. Cashin said. Instead, she added, they ought to be willing to admit high-achieving students from high schools that offer few or no Advanced Placement courses.

With Obama's 2008 vote she should win those states and North Carolina and Florida.

White Democrats fear this issue so they scapegoat the White men they hate = "the Russians", Putin, Trump's deplorable basket of White racists, etc

I was a child when the book came out and far too young to understand what happened at the time. From what I can see, no one could really refute the book's single chapter on race nor could they refute the substantial evidence on IQ testing in general. Instead, the leftists just said "that's racist" and did their best to put the book down the memory hole. They were successful.

Fast forward today. Nealy every single single argument from the Bell Curve's opinions on race and intelligence or the importance of IQ or the stratification of society along IQ has proven true. In fact, in the 25 years since then we have gathered even more evidence that IQ matters and average IQ is extremely different among races.

It's absurd as we have wated trillions of dollars, millions of man hours and immiserated a generation of educators who toiled and failed trying to solve an unsolvable problem.

Gentle reminder that the vast majority of whites have sub 115 IQ and that the ~50% of the black population they interact with on daily basis have an IQ in the same 85-115 range.

Most white people don't interact with the black criminal/ghetto population, and so fail to realize just how unintelligent they are, and how this lack of intelligence drives their behavior.

Saying blacks are genetically less intelligent than whites is a HUGE taboo in many circles. These circles are mostly suburban whites with little to no contact with blacks outside of ordering their McDonalds meal. When they see how filthy with litter and trash these black communities are, they blame 'Trump supporters' for oppressing blacks into turning their own neighborhoods into shit holes.

The jews really want whites and blacks to interbreed so our average IQ falls from 100 to 90. In their evil minds, 90 is the perfect IQ because you are smart enough to work, but too dumb to fight back. Many blacks have an IQ that falls below the level of productivity, trust me I know from personal experience, they aren't even smart enough to steal my mise en place without getting caught.
    , @Forbes

How can so few people know that...

By not committing the iSteve crime of noticing...

In my experience, most (not all) people spend little time thinking. Thinking is hard. Sometimes--many times--it leads to no good answers or outcomes. E.g. life is unfair in ways too numerous to count. Why bother to contemplate such reality as it can be stressful and disappointing, inducing sadness.

Instead, they do. They transit life on auto pilot. They work for the weekend. They cruise through the drudgery hopeful to arrive at moments of personal joy. Not noticing relieves much burden.
    , @SMK
The reason only 26% of those polled -nearly all whites, I'm sure, with perhaps some "Asians"- believe that "blacks are substantially less intelligent than whites" is because the left controls almost everything -the media, the schools, the universities, etc.- and the only mainstream, respectable opposition is the conservative, Republican establishment, National Review and the Weekly Standard, Fox News, etc.No "conservatism inc." intellectual, e.g., Rich Lowry, William Kristol, and their ilk, no Republican, not even Donald Trump, no"talking-head" on Fox News, not even Tucker Carlson, would ever tell the truth about average negro intelligence, much less that it was largely genetic, even if they cryptically knew or believed that blacks as a group are innately less intelligent than whites and "Asians."

Everyone knows this. Of course, it is noteworthy that white variance is exceptionally high. The smarter whites are the smartest of all, where as the bottom 10% of whites (men become WNs, women become fat bluehaired feminists) are even lower than blacks.

    The hierarchy is :

    Successful, talented whites
    Asians (East and South)
    Hispanics
    Blacks
    WNs and bluehaired feminists

So there is a small subspecies of whites that ranks even lower than negros. WN losers and fat feminists arise from this group.

Most people arrange their lives so as to avoid exposure to the realities of the dysfunctional classes. This makes it easier not to notice the racial distribution of the functional and dysfunctional classes.

If you're a data analyst for Dynacorp, you work with other data analyst types, live in a neighborhood of people of comparable income, and your kids go to a good school by reputation and by test scores. The black people you encounter as coworkers, neighbors and your kids' school friends are comparable enough. Your environment is maybe 5% black, and maybe they're not top performers, but it's close enough to the 10% it should be to blame the difference on excess phlogiston I mean racism.

It's pretty easy for the person in the paragraph above not to notice that the prison population, and the neighborhoods where the prisoners tend to come from, run say 50-50 black/white. (Setting aside Mexicans, because they don't speak English super well, and how smart do you and I sound in Spanish anyway? That'll be fine when the kids grow up speaking English. You don't live in California or Miami, so the idea of an American society without English dominance doesn't pop up.)

"I’ve been told by colleagues that I didn’t need formal support because 1) I “asked” for what I got by engaging in public scholarship and speaking out against the alt-right; 2) I didn’t have enough of a scholarly record to merit support; 3) I didn’t have a traditional academic job that I could be fired from; and 4) surely I had ample personal resources at my disposal to protect myself. As a field, we can’t really do much to stop external harassment from happening – but we can challenge and confront these kinds of ideas and keep them from poisoning our collegial relationships, and we can reflect on how intersections of privilege and oppression play into our misconceptions."

To read between the lines, especitally those between points 2 and 3, it seems that she approached scholars she didn't know and they were nonplussed because they, in contrast to her, did not consider her part of the "field". Which would be unsurprising given that she does not have an academic job, I could not quickly find any academic publications of hers on Google scholar and her internet page seems to publish mostly lifestyle articles and political commentary rather than anything resembling scholarship.

She thinks her brother’s money can buy her entrance into the highest circles of the field. Nouveau riche at its worst. (I hope this observation doesn’t trigger any readers’ epigenetic country club memories.)

    Wrong.

The underlying dynamic here is that in the 1960s Art Sackler brought Valium's patent to the US from the company where his wife worked then became the first ad man in history to rack up $100 million in pharmaceutical sales for a single product.

He's in the medical advertising hall of fame for that, speaking of monuments that should be torn down.

Murray's article was dead wrong. Selection had to be recent, since Ashkenazi Jews are mostly (60%) European.

I agree. I doubt Murray wanted to argue the more plausible explanation, which is that finance and merchant activity in Europe during the last millennium caused Ashkenazi (but not Sephardi, Mizrahi etc.) intelligence. It’s not exactly PC, and has implications that are . . . troubling.

Wouldn't one expect God's chosen people to not have gone through a holocaust within the past Century?

The claim that the Jews were once God's chosen people and that with the Advent of Christ and the Christian era they became God's most accursed people seems more reasonable then to believe that Jews were and are God's chosen people. I am not confident about either hypothesis but I would be curious to hear a point of view that one seriously posits to the effect that the Jews were, are and will be God's chosen people. Honestly, if there is someone in charge, you wouldn't expect God to allow his chosen people to be murdered by their millions in gas chambers, ovens and slave camps.

That was Murray’s ultimate statement, not mine. I merely suspect that the statement helped convince Commentary to publish.

That said, a prominent theme in the Old Testament is that God blesses the Jews, 400 or so years pass and the Jews forget and start misbehaving, the Jews get severely punished by God, and then some charismatic leader convinces the Jews to behave again thereby yielding another blessing from God. And so the cycle continues.

The Egyptian enslavement and the Babylonian exile were two such episodes.

The Holocaust (the killing of a third of global Jewry) would be in line with the Biblical punishments, to those inclined to such beliefs.

Good points. But that will be changing. We are at the end of the Ashkenazi Jews. Here in the US they have a high median age and many are marrying blacks/Asians. In Israel, Israeli Jewish IQ is 93 and dropping. Over the next few years we'll see a reversal in longevity. That "115 IQ" is mostly a myth. There aren't that many Jews to begin with. They are very moderate drinkers but that was due to keeping their wits about them as they tried to survive through the centuries in Europe. Not era is over and other degeneracies inherent to them will take over.

Jews have been persisting as a diaspora for 2000 years. I doubt they’re going anywhere.

I didn't say "they were going anywhere." I said this is a miscegenated, meshuggah melange who is deteriorating rapidly. There will be some Jews, but they won't look like the Ashkenazi Jews of the West. The Ashkenazis are disappearing and the Sephardis and black/Asian Jews are now the majority. I support Israel because we need to send the Jews in the West to Israel. Shortly, Jews will be very strange creatures.

  • Charles Murray has a great 2007 article about Jewish intelligence in Commentary.

    https://www.commentarymagazine.com/articles/jewish-genius/

This was, of course, before Pod the Lesser became editor. I suspect the three final sentences greatly facilitated the article’s publication: “Why should one particular tribe at the time of Moses, living in the same environment as other nomadic and agricultural peoples of the Middle East, have already evolved elevated intelligence when the others did not? At this point, I take sanctuary in my remaining hypothesis, uniquely parsimonious and happily irrefutable. The Jews are God’s chosen people.”

People who are called white are carrying amulets of whiteness within their invisible knapsacks. Those amulets passively give off an aura of microaggresive energy that disturbs the vibrations of vibrant Black Bodies. Sometimes people who are called white unzip their invisible knapsacks (it can be so hard to find the invisible zipper!), retrieve their amulets of whiteness & crack them open, which releases their eldritch energies in a highly focused macroaggresive wave that zaps Black Bodies.

I was just thinking the same thing the other day - maybe "liberalism" is best understood as a religion that elevates racism/bigotry to be the number one sin that transcends all others.

This explains the excessive level of condemnation of people, including historical figures, as just being pure evil because they exhibited some racial prejudice. As opposed to seeing an individual as complex, flawed in some ways good in others, etc. - instead you get branded a "bigot" and you're one-dimensional pure evil.

Since this "religion" arose in the West, maybe it's best understood as a sort of Christian heresy. I think that blogger Mencius Moldbug made a similar point years ago, I might have to go back and re-read.

It's like they dropped certain aspects of Christianity (supernatural beliefs, sexual morality) but kept others (compassion for the poor and downtrodden). They removed or downplayed some of the Ten Commandments (adultery, coveting) and made Thou Shalt Not Be Bigoted the first commandment carved in an extra large and bold font.

I was raised Catholic but consider myself non-religious. I'm not a true believer in Christianity or in this new Liberalism religion. Nonetheless I actually find traditional Christianity much more appealing in general than this creepy new cult pseudo-religion. Christianity has a much more sensible view of human nature overall.

Since this “religion” arose in the West, maybe it’s best understood as a sort of Christian heresy. I think that blogger Mencius Moldbug made a similar point years ago, I might have to go back and re-read.

They removed or downplayed some of the Ten Commandments (adultery, coveting) and made Thou Shalt Not Be Bigoted the first commandment carved in an extra large and bold font.

Moldbug went on endlessly (as is his style) about how liberalism is a Godless form of Christianity.

As Nietsche would have it, Christianity is a slave morality. The downtrodden, and those who consciously eschew material wealth and social power, are more holy than those obsessed with and successful at acquiring wealth and power. As the Christ said, “More easily will a camel pass through the eye of a needle than a rich man enter the Kingdom of God.” Matthew 19:24.

Liberalism is slave morality with no sense of God or an afterlife, which makes people insanely attached to bringing about a perfect world on Earth. Thus the unhinged, rabid nature of many liberals–there is only this existence to them, so achieving a “perfect” world is not subject to compromise.

(Personally, I believe that all true morality is slave morality, for master morality a la Viking rapists, Muslim rapists, the Third Reich’s master race deal etc. is not morality. It’s gratification of base impulses.)
