Remember when the War on Terror ended and the War on Populism began? That’s OK, no one else does.

It happened in the Summer of 2016, also known as “the Summer of Fear.” The War on Terror was going splendidly. There had been a series of “terrorist attacks,” in Orlando, Nice, Würzberg, Munich, Reutlingen, Ansbach, and Saint-Étienne-du-Rouvray, each of them perpetrated by suddenly “self-radicalized” “lone wolf terrorists” (or “non-terrorist terrorists“) who had absolutely no connection to any type of organized terrorist groups prior to suddenly “self- radicalizing” themselves by consuming “terrorist content” on the Internet. It seemed we were entering a new and even more terrifying phase of the Global War on Terror, a phase in which anyone could be a “terrorist” and “terrorism” could mean almost anything.

This broadening of the already virtually meaningless definition of “terrorism” was transpiring just in time for Obama to hand off the reins to Hillary Clinton, who everyone knew was going to be the next president, and who was going to have to bomb the crap out of Syria in response to the non-terrorist terrorist threat. The War on Terror (or, rather, “the series of persistent targeted efforts to dismantle specific networks of violent extremists that threaten America,” as Obama rebranded it) was going to continue, probably forever. The Brexit referendum had just taken place, but no one had really digested that yet … and then Trump won the nomination.

Like that scene in Orwell’s 1984 where the Party switches official enemies right in the middle of the Hate Week rally, the War on Terror was officially canceled and replaced by the War on Populism. Or … all right, it wasn’t quite that abrupt. But seriously, go back and scan the news. Note how the “Islamic terrorist threat” we had been conditioned to live in fear of on a daily basis since 2001 seemed to just vanish into thin air. Suddenly, the “existential threat” we were facing was “neo-nationalism,” “illiberalism,” or the pejorative designator du jour, “populism.”

Here we are, two and a half years later, and “democracy” is under constant attack by a host of malevolent “populist” forces …. Russo-fascist Black vote suppressors, debaucherous eau de Novichok assassins, Bernie Sanders, the yellow-vested French, emboldened non-exploding mail bomb bombers, Jeremy Corbyn’s Nazi Death Cult, and brain-devouring Russian-Cubano crickets. The President of the United States is apparently both a Russian intelligence operative and literally the resurrection of Hitler. NBC and MSNBC have been officially merged with the CIA. The Guardian has dispensed with any pretense of journalism and is just making stories up out of whole cloth. Anyone who has ever visited Russia, or met with a Russian, or read a Russian novel, is on an “Enemies of Democracy” watch list (as is anyone refusing to vacation in Israel, which the Senate is now in the process of making mandatory for all U.S. citizens). Meanwhile, the “terrorists” are nowhere to be found, except for the terrorists we’ve been using to attempt to overthrow the government of Bashar al Assad, the sadistic nerve-gassing Monster of Syria, who illegally invaded and conquered his own country in defiance of the “international community.”

All this madness has something to do with “populism,” although it isn’t clear what. The leading theory is that the Russians are behind it. They’ve got some sort of hypno-technology (not to be confused with those brain-eating crickets) capable of manipulating the minds of … well, Black people, mostly, but not just Black people. Obviously, they are also controlling the French, who they have transformed into “racist, hate-filled liars” who are “attacking elected representatives, journalists, Jews, foreigners, and homosexuals,” according to French President Emmanuel Macron, the anointed “Golden Boy of Europe.” More terrifying still, Putin is now able to project words out of Trump’s mouth in real-time, literally using Trump’s head as a puppet, or like one of those Mission Impossible masks. (Rachel Maddow conclusively proved this by spending a couple of hours on Google comparing the words coming out of Trump’s mouth to words that had come out of Russian mouths, but had never come out of American mouths, which they turned out to be the exact same words, or pretty close to the exact same words!) Apparently, Putin’s master plan for Total Populist World Domination and Establishment of the Thousand Year Duginist Reich was to provoke the global capitalist ruling classes, the corporate media, and their credulous disciples into devolving into stark raving lunatics, or blithering idiots, or a combination of both.

But, seriously, all that actually happened back in the Summer of 2016 was the global capitalist ruling classes recognized that they had a problem. The problem that they recognized they had (and continue to have, and are now acutely aware of) is that no one is enjoying global capitalism … except the global capitalist ruling classes. The whole smiley-happy, supranational, neo-feudal corporate empire concept is not going over very well with the masses, or at least not with the unwashed masses. People started voting for right-wing parties, and Brexit, and other “populist” measures (not because they had suddenly transformed into Nazis, but because the Right was acknowledging and exploiting their anger with the advance of global neoliberalism, while liberals and the Identity Politics Left were slow jamming the TPP with Obama and babbling about transgender bathrooms, and such).

The global capitalist ruling classes needed to put a stop to that (i.e, the “populist” revolt, not the bathroom debate). So they suspended the Global War on Terror and launched the War on Populism. It was originally only meant to last until Hillary Clinton’s coronation, or the second Brexit referendum, then switch back to the War on Terror, but … well, weird things happen, and here we are.

We’ll get back to the War on Terror, eventually … as the War on Populism is essentially just a temporary rebranding of it. In the end, it’s all the same counter-insurgency. When a system is globally hegemonic, as our current model of capitalism is, every war is a counter-insurgency (i.e., a campaign waged against an internal enemy), as there are no external enemies to fight. The “character” of the internal enemies might change (e.g., “Islamic terrorism,” “extremism,” “fascism,” “populism,” “Trumpism,” “Corbynism,” et cetera) but they are all insurgencies against the hegemonic system … which, in our case, is global capitalism, not the United States of America.

The way I see it, the global capitalist ruling classes now have less than two years to put down this current “populist” insurgency. First and foremost, they need to get rid of Trump, who despite his bombastic nativist rhetoric is clearly no “hero of the common people,” nor any real threat to global capitalism, but who has become an anti-establishment symbol, like a walking, talking “fuck you” to both the American and global neoliberal elites. Then, they need to get a handle on Europe, which isn’t going to be particularly easy. What happens next in France will be telling, as will whatever becomes of Brexit … which I continue to believe will never actually happen, except perhaps in some purely nominal sense.

And then there’s the battle for hearts and minds, which they’ve been furiously waging for the last two years, and which is only going to intensify. If you think things are batshit crazy now (which, clearly, they are), strap yourself in. What is coming is going to make COINTELPRO look like the work of some amateur meme-freak. The neoliberal corporate media, psy-ops like Integrity Initiative, Internet-censoring apps like NewsGuard, ShareBlue and other David Brock outfits, and a legion of mass hysteria generators will be relentlessly barraging our brains with absurdity, disinformation, and just outright lies (as will their counterparts on the Right, of course, in case you thought that they were any alternative). It’s going to get extremely zany.

The good news is, by the time it’s all over and Trump has been dealt with, and normality restored, and the working classes put back in their places, we probably won’t remember that any of this happened. We’ll finally be able to sort out those bathrooms, and get back to paying the interest on our debts, and to living in more or less constant fear of an imminent devastating terrorist attack … and won’t that be an enormous relief?

  1. Interesting article – nice read!

There’s not only Trump. There is Belgium now, Denmark, Norway, the Visegrad-states, the Baltic states, Switzerland, Austria, Italy. Maybe Spain quite soon. Brasil? And on the other side, we have what: Germany, and – – – – Jean Claude Juncker from Luxemburg and?

I find CJ a welcome edition to Unz. Thanks, Ron. His satire on blue-pilled reality is very well done & a pleasure to read. He’s here as a result of Ron’s desire to include some free-thinking leftists in his mix & it’s fun to see how he can’t actually advocate anything actually left (too absurd), but at the same time can’t acknowledge that there’s an alt-right with much in common with his alt-left point of view (too taboo). Come on, CJ. You’re here & many of us understand what you’re trying to say. Can you understand what much of the rest of us here are trying to say? You just might become a little less black-pilled.

We’re bombarded with false fights to see who’ll bend over for what. We have been divided by age and region, work and neighborhood, to see if these little details send each other for the throat so that the “globalist capitalists” can safely go back to their game.

My guess is one or two more squeezes, and the screws will not be safe anymore. Americans who’ve had their pay cut off, their pension funds rifled and their homes repossessed are no longer especially tolerant of the billions going to Israel. Clever of the local papers to put that right where we all could see it. Thanks, lamestream media. You got your priorities in order. And you’ve helped the rest of us make up our minds.

Trump MUST Achieve An Ideologic Momentum–“Tech” Monopolies Are Easy Target

The globalists can’t win this fight.

Absolutely agreed w. above quote. For Trump has brilliantly exposed “globalists” forever, and now there’s NOTHING “globalists” can do but for the “Samson Option,” most probably a bio-weapon, or perhaps a series of them–which they may well be doing already, actually.

And of course, Trump hasn’t said the least of it, the thesis being now the original virtue of STATES-RIGHTS (nullification and secession) of the old Confederate States of America–to which the logic inexorably leads–see TenthAmendmentCenter.com

Interesting Trump’s closest allies are really the Pauls, Sen. Rand, and ex-Congressman, Ron, though Ron also lambastes Trump w. excellent criticism too.

But MOST of all, Trump and the people must merely take heed of a simple little fact, which is this is truly and demonstrably age of satanic lies, subjectivism, and anti-reason–just observe first the explicit policy of Agenda-21 and -2030 GENOCIDE–this is literally the plan.

It doesn’t take much further imagination then to see how this genocide is being carried-out in a slow-motion sort of fashion/methodology, by means of poison vaccines, drugs, GMO foods, additives, and outright chemical poisoning by means of glyphosates, etc. Then there’s the deadly 5G micro-waving, “chem-trails” seeding of poison in the atmosphere, etc.–it’s literal culture of DEATH

So first, “globalists” must CENSOR the I-net–which is presently blatant and even too much in-one’s-face to be successful, so I guess we have to have some more false-flags.

Most of all, immediate problem is the central-banking which is literally legalized counterfeiting, these criminals now “owning” the big “tech” corp. monopolies, pretending to “private-property,” hence their pretended right to “censor” on vehicles which were originally developed w. public and tax-payer funds, then sold-off to fellow oligarchs and lick-spittles, pretending to “private-property,” etc., ho ho ho ho

Problem is money and banking are abstract subject-matters, so the people are still too easily confused on the subject, the oligarchs successfully keeping the people off-balance and conflicted w. one-another. But globalists have been spotted, tagged, and IDENTIFIED too well by such as Trump, and that’s his greatest virtue–and the more he’s attacked by these psychopathic criminals, the more the people sympathize w. Trump.

But Trump and patriots MUST maintain some kind of ideologic momentum, I submit, and that should be fairly easy to focus upon the “tech” monopolies, which so many already understand and grasp so well already.

  9. Nice article but your conclusion that this will go away is to say the least ……naive. This is not going away. Instead we may have the total collapse of civilization and it might just come 60 years from now or may be 6 months from now.

We have abandoned standard scientific protocols and replaced them with looking the other way. They will overwhelm every biogeochemical and social-economic system. Once the Democrats regain power look for open borders and you’ll find out about the lack of basic protection protocols rather quickly. Of course, this is run by the Magic Jews who control all money, media and for the most part the thought processes of this country and perhaps most so called democracies.

No this isn’t going away at all…it’s going to get worse. The purpose of all of this is to destroy all white populations and Western Civilization. This will happen by illegal immigrant populations overwhelming the systems, the collapse of the economic system, and legalized murder of whites just like S. Africa, as well as constant ruination of the white middle class by destroying their wages, and literally bleeding them to death while they work to support the illegals.

    The War on Populism

The basic fact that the Zio-Glob aren’t popular. Why should they be?

They don’t have any interest other than their own. Their globalism and open frontiers are code for cheap labour, and they bomb and hunt down any countries/people who oppose them.

  14. Tulip says:
    @Anonymous

Sure they can. First of all, democracy, in their view, consists primarily of procedures and substance (pro-globalist). The wise leaders decide when the voters get to vote, who they get to vote for, and what they get to vote on. The rest is left to wise Justices who decide those questions too hard for the simple minds of ordinary people (e.g. contradict the substance of democracy). Viola “Liberal Democracy”.

But beyond all that, all you need is control of the armed forces and the police, and you don’t need to conduct democracy at all, especially when you have a dangerous anti-democratic movement like populism (e.g. rule by the people), that makes it necessary to save democracy from itself. Obviously, in order to avoid illiberalism, it is necessary to start restricting extremist candidates and parties, and expanding judicial oversight of political decision-making, and if that doesn’t work, a figure like Pinochet would do the trick.

But I disagree – they don’t need to “get rid of” Trump. Now that Trump’s populist rhetoric has been shown to be as empty as Obama’s, Trump is very useful to the ruling elites. He serves as a lightning rod to get all the liberals voting for candidates that are just pure corporate shills – it’s OK to vote for a blood thirsty corporate quisling as long as you hate Trump. And ideally, get the ‘conservatives’ all voting for Trump, because the ‘liberals’ are all screaming that they hate him. Meanwhile the status quo continues….

Good to read a piece that is light enough to digest but points out the detail, and you are right on the timeline.

Populism before that was sort of washed onto socialism as a misguided common greed , or onto traditionalist charismatic figures who caught the essence but were lacking pragmatic depth, so labelling both as a feelgood enterprise. Look at latin countries and you will find various combos of the above, for example, and you will find that the derogatory meaning emanates from a supraset of rational that is bureaucratic and does not present itself to popular scrutiny. Maybe this is what the deeper state makes to represent, the prudent subconscious guardian that reasons beyond the trivial momentary sentiments of a population.

If so it is rare for its agenda to be presented so openly and critically damning of the nascent mood, something which antagonises by the blatant overstep which seems not only disrespectful of freedom of choice but actively destructive towards its directions. Why would this route be chosen? We like to believe it is of a fear that stokes a need to discredit opposition, or even conceivably of a deep belief that populist narrative is truly a danger to society. However what I notice is that the profundity of sentiment stretches back beyond the descriptions of populist given above and taps more into the era of the first half of the twentieth century. How could this not be as that period so strongly has shaped and has been used to shape reality since. However I do get the impression that those drawing from the darkness of those times to overpower the senses are more likely to be of the kind that were responsible for the tragedy of the day than those who would protect us from a repeat. The second half of the twentieth century self normalised until Euro and middle east – that is to say the agenda has reverted now to continue from the first half. It probably seeks forgiveness by asking for acceptance of a new domination, but you can just call that torture.

  22. @Biff

Absolutely, Biff. Whatever one thinks of Trump it’s a pure joy to watch all the msm/ establishment types become almost apoplectic with rage & indignation over Trump’s latest antics.
I look forward to some of them flying backwards off their office chairs with a last dramatic heave & cardiac spasm of pure incoherent anger….(What’s-his-name David Brooks comes to mind (or that other NYT prick, Friedman). Of course that’s impossible: Brooks long ago had a massive lump of grissly Conceit implanted where his heart had been….)

  23. Even suppressed yellow-jacket demonstrations are more successful in producing change than voting. In an entrenched Uniparty Oligarchy, it is impossible to vote out the global jetsetting bums, like the vacationing legislators watching a play in PR while Rome burns, mentioned in Trump’s recent Tweetstorm.

But with Trump, thus far, anti-mass-immigration voters “can’t get no satisfaction” except via Tweet dissing. Turnout for Republicans in the midterms was lower, with fewer Deplorables, due to the creeping realization that anti-mass-immigration voters might have just voted in another flavor of Uniparty neoliberalism.

If Deplorable goals appear to be unreachable via voting, there might be another alternative beyond street mayhem to unseat globalism: passive-aggressive non-voting.

I am not mathematical enough to figure out whether or not the Uniparty weasels could opportunistically game this form of non-violent resistance, thereby keeping their absenteeism-friendly jobs at $174k, with the perks of multinational corporate lobbyist contacts and other lucrative networking links that allow them to milk globalism while in office and after leaving office.

With so many financial incentives for the top 20% to keep it afloat, globalism will be hard to defeat, regardless of how much it damages the credibility of self-governing republics, but this is an interesting, low-energy resistance option.

Thanks, Mr. Hopkins, for an article both entertaining and insightful. I especially enjoyed your description of the issues and shifts in international democratic movements, and elite propagandistic counter-reactions.

You provide a clear window into a particular episode of the struggle of global elites to impose their policies, and the shifts in tactics necessary for the elites to maintain control and counter the rise of some popular resistance.

But neither the globalistsn or the populists will ever lose this war. Nothing will happen to make either side quit and go home and we are doomed to eternal warfare in this arena. The sad fate of Brexit illustrates the error of thinking victory is ever achieved. That effort will eventually collapse on the sword of a second vote, because its backers mistakenly thought that the battle was over after the first. They should have anticipated that the EU would react by making Brexit as painful as possible (to discourage other populations), and that the backers needed to continue the battle within their government to pressure and/or energize, their lukewarm leaders. Instead, leaders like Farage prematurely put down their weapons and withdrew from the field.

The anti EU parties, most of the time just one in each member state, are quickly getting more and more support, this leads to rising tensions, in Bremen Germany a AfD politician was nearly beaten to death.

Interesting, in this respect, is Macron’s big national debate.
The debate subjects now have been published.
Migration is not subject, it can be discussed under ‘citizenship’.
EU membership is not a subject, though Macron in one of his now almost daily letters to the French people mentions something like ‘France’s international position’, that could be changed (somewhat).

I for one do not expect that the French people will allow Macron to fool them.
Prior to the 2005 referendum about the so called EU constitution a gymnasium professor explained quite well the consequences on a website.
This website was consulted intensively, the French voted ‘no’ in the referendum.
Intellectuals are in esteem in France.

These are weird times, in Germany is discussed the role of Germany, the German army, in a EU or NATO war against Russia.
That the EU clique at the end of this year should be happy if they still have jobs, this idea does not seem to exist in Germany.

And, of course, in Germany main stream history again is important in the debate about war against Russia.
Hitler attacking the USSR, 30 million Russian deaths, is mentioned again, with the question if Germany again should attack Russia.
That Hitler just defended Germany, it cannot be true, thus is ignored, despite what historians found in Russian archives.

Is there a sad Brexit fate ?
What will happen in the next few days, I do not know.

It was of course clear to anyone with some common sense that the stupid Brussels clique would do anything to punish the rebels, it also was clear that trade between GB on the one side, and especially Germany and France on the other, was of such magnitude that stopping this trade, or making it very difficult, was out of the question, for all three countries.

Now what will be announced in the next few days I suppose will be the usual, both sides have won.
    Possibly May will step down.

But, as in all wars, whatever will be the outcome, there are just losers.
Half the British population will not get what they voted for, my expectation.
In order to maintain trade GB has made concesssions, to what extent, w’ll see.
But I do not expect GB to be again the sovereign country it was in EEC times.

Brussels won a Phyrrus victory, how damaging to Brussels, remains to be seen.
Anyone of course by now understands the totalitarian character of the EU, despite harming the common people in the EU member states, Brexit was sabotaged as much as possible.
The EU elections of this year may show the consequences, boost in votes for populist parties.

    Yes.

    https://americanaffairsjournal.org/2017/05/new-class-war/

Hobson [in 1902!) envisioned a dystopian future for a deindustrialized West ruled by a class of transnational managers and investors …:

“The greater part of Western Europe might then assume the appearance and character already exhibited by tracts of country in the South of England, in the Riviera, and in the tourist-ridden or residential parts of Italy and Switzerland, little clusters of wealthy aristocrats drawing dividends and pensions from the Far East, with a somewhat larger group of professional retainers and tradesmen and a large body of personal servants.”

The “little clusters” of rich rentiers and their professional retainers and menial servants bring to mind today’s increasingly stratified “global cities” like London, New York, and San Francisco, embedded in nation-states with large tracts of derelict, former industrial zones. […]

It is not the Weimar republic but the banana republic that provides the most likely negative model. In many Latin American countries, politics has traditionally pitted oligarchs versus populists. A similar pattern existed in many Southern states in the United States between the Civil War and the civil rights revolution.

When populist outsiders challenge oligarchic insiders, the oligarchs almost always win. How could they lose? They may not have numbers, but they control most of the wealth, expertise, and political influence and dominate the media, universities, and nonprofit sectors. Most populist waves break and disperse on the concrete seawalls of elite privilege.

    The cure for such inequalities?

  33. @Endgame Napoleon

Even suppressed yellow-jacket demonstrations are more successful in producing change than voting. In an entrenched Uniparty Oligarchy, it is impossible to vote out the global jetsetting bums, like the vacationing legislators watching a play in PR while Rome burns, mentioned in Trump’s recent Tweetstorm.

obviously true…and it is funny how the Dissident Right fails to acknowledge that the french are much much better at resistance than us.

If Deplorable goals appear to be unreachable via voting, there might be another alternative beyond street mayhem to unseat globalism: passive-aggressive non-voting.

or better yet, just vote for the firebrand democrat—tulsi gabbard looks pretty good…and in 2024, AOC may be available.

  34. Jake says:

    Sheer brilliance, once again.

Our age is one of mass insanity, and our globalist new world order Elite, which is preponderantly the product of the British Empire, is worse in every way for those it rules than was the late 18th century House of Bourbon for the French (and Bretons and Gascons and Aixois, etc.)

  35. All very well, but there is a real system under all the lies, and it will only take so much before it stops working [1,2]. Putting a political party and associated feather merchants in charge of an industrial society isn’t a good idea [3].
So there is a limit to just how obviously dysfunctional information flow and decision making can become. Charles Stross [4] has given a very interesting look at failure modes in Orwell’s fictional world of _1984_. Stross is not nice, but is sometimes very perceptive. For a real historical example, consider the USSR, Vietnam (after the North’s conquest), the PRC.
Or, for something about to happen, N. Korea. N. Korea started acting better after its last nuclear test came close to collapsing the mountain on top of it [5]. Supposedly one, maybe two, more nuclear tests would free radioactive debris from previous tests. Wind carried radionucleides would eventually poison much of East Asia and Japan. Kim can bluff, but that’s all. So much for the money he’s been able to bluff out of other countries, and perhaps so much for his internal stability.

So: There is a reality layer in there somewhere. You may be living in a simulation of a simulation of a simulation etc. (as the Postmodernists and Buddhists claim), but somewhere there’s a monkeyspace level computer and a monkey paying an electrical bill. No pay bill, no simulation, and it doesn’t matter how well crafted the software.

  36. So we have another slogan:
“Populism is the enemy of our Democracy!” It is absolute trust in representatives that allows them to permit you to cast votes. Note that slogan was “our Democracy”, not “your Democracy”. It assumes that the people arn’t sovereign, “our” in that context meaning the representatives only.

The new slogan is added to
“War is Peace and Prosperity” if you import the losing side to your country.
Freedom is Slavery” Freedom is a deception that enables oppression, and oppression is slavery.
“Ignorance is Strength”. Oppressive propaganda makes you weak. Ignore it, your ignorance protects.

    and with Stross’s addition:
“Trust the Computer.” Staffing with people who believe the above slogans means that computers are the only rational actors, thus in theory the only entities capable of managing the physical system. Computers are also unlikely to become politically active, hence are not a political threat. Therefore, they are favored over (possibly unreliable) people for basic infrastructure (land, labor, and capital) management And, no, I’m not kidding, nor is Stross [1].

Perhaps I’m kidding about the whole list, and Orwell was kidding about his original three slogans rather than referring to the Left’s actual program back then (AD 1948). Not very likely, though.

Many are already silently on our side, but are not willing to give up their paychecks – for now. They may not be willing to start rounding up protesting citizens in large numbers and sending them to FEMA camps.

Their most formidable weapon is ubiquitous control of Big Media – as in Orwell’s “1984” and Huxley’s “Brave New World.” Today’s media is not yesterday’s media, as in the days of Walter Cronkite, but something much more technologically advanced and insidious. These aristocrats were actually mostly British and formed the upper rank of the global British Empire.

The excellent video shows that they were washed out in WW1 along with the British Empire, and inequality was reduced.

Back to today, and our own record inequality is accompanied by our own global aristocracy of Zionists with their global corporate allies, and they are equally determined to protect their privilege. And interestingly, they haunt the same places frequented by old British aristocracy, such as the French Riviera, Switzerland and the Italian lakes.

The news media and the Left of that time (mostly Postmodernists) formed an alliance with N. Vietnam and used it to frighten the Republicans and the Anglo Saxon establishment enough oust the Anglo Saxon establishment, their own Internationalist Democrats, and (at the end) to be the only man standing. They even managed to get the Republican establishment to largely neutralize Reagan’s policies after his attempted assassination. Essentially, they established escalation dominance. Their potential opponents were so terrified of renewed riots that the Left needed only to raise the stakes (“double down” in colloquial English) to make their opponents retreat while metaphorically apologizing profusely for breathing too much when others needed the valuable oxygen. And remember that the whole thing was planned by Left grand strategists. The Left is enthusiastic about Grand Strategy and taking the long view. Didn’t work out in WW II and the USSR endgame, but they’re still enthusiastic, and sometimes (late AD 1960s) the left wins.

The stake raising game is still being played. Trump is right now considering whether he wants to meet the latest Democratic raise by declaring a National Emergency, or to attempt folding by waiting for a national wave of support. Under games theory he has only one choice, “National Emergency”, but that’s right up there with crossing the Rubicon in terms of world history. That sort of action is quite a step. Caesar took it, Pompey probably would not have, Lepidus definitely would not have. We’ll see what Trump does. He’s running out of time.

  57. The 2016 “Summer of Fear” was really an over the top “Summer of Fake,” with regards to most of the “terror attacks”. So there’s your connection with the WoP: all fake!

“We’ll get back to the War on Terror, eventually … as the War on Populism is essentially just a temporary rebranding of it.”

Since the “terror,” showcased in most terrorist attacks is fake, the quote could be taken to mean that most of today’s “populism” is just as fake, and I’d second that wholeheartedly.

Much of what’s been going on with “populism” in Europe concerns carefully groomed/controlled opposition to the decades-long influx of unassimilable Muslims. The ((globalists)) have been using Muslims as weapons of mass migration for so long now, that they’ve had ample opportunity to see the popular backlash coming and thus organize it as if it were some grassroots movement.

All of the household names/orgs are controlled, be it Wilders in Holland, “Pegida,” the ghastly “EDL” and of course all of these counterjihad outfits, meddling in European nation’s affairs from the US of A (JihadWatch, Gates of Vienna, and that ((lady)) with the unmistakable looks of a street pro way past her prime).

In the midst of this, the Kosher Nostra already set up their beloved bête noir for the soon to be hyped up war on the “populism” they themselves had organized and branded. This convenient scapegoat to represent the threat of populism going just a little astray, is of course the Breivik circus act.

To recap: “populism” is the Kosher Nostra-coined stigma for the Kosher Nostra controlled fake opposition to the Kosher Nostra-sponsored controlled demolition of nations, deemed obstacles to the JWO, via the weapon of Muslim mass migration, with the added benefit of these “populist” anti-Islam outfits lending credence to all of these Kosher Nostra directed, and crisis (en)acted “terrorist attacks”.

So the “populism” this article refers to is just as fake as the terror attacks mentioned. Does the author acknowledge that? Dunno, let’s give this piece a second reading.

The media was never objective. It has always steered the narrative and always hid the truth, if it conflicted with its “objectives” and always had a propensity to support communist causes. All one has to do is look at the holocaust claims of “shrunken heads”, jewish “soap”, and jewish “lampshades” to see how the narrative is spun to promote an agenda, the “holocaust” being one of the most enduring and successful agendas throughout history. In fact the “holocaust” figure of “6 million” was touted from the 1880s on by the media of the times. There are but many examples of this one falsehood…
From the lies about the Spanish-American war to the New York Times’ walter duranty hiding the truth about and denying the artificially engineered and forced communist “famine” in the Ukraine, to the lies about the 1968 Viet Nam communist Tet offensive (a military victory for the South Vietnamese and American troops) reported by walter cronkite as a military defeat, cronkite and his ilk were successful in prolonging the Viet Nam war for years, giving “aid and comfort” to the enemy, who bragged about being supported by the U S media.
Look at NBCs doctoring of GMC truck gas tanks, rigging them to explode, and the deliberate mischaracterization of George Zimmerman’s conversation withe the 911 dispatcher, deleting a key phrase, as well as showing Trayvon Martin as a 12-year-old cherub rather than his more recent “thug” facebook picture.
The media has become a “fifth column” of the government and is not to be trusted. The CIA has had its hooks in the media since the 1950s. In fact, Hollywood script writers were paid to insert anti-drug messages in their scripts during the “drug hysteria” period of the 1980s through 2000s. Today, we have “crisis actors” embedded in our government and media, the same “crisis actors” who keep showing up, being used in every (fake) “crisis”. The mainstream media keeps parroting these impostors, thinking that we are stupid, not being able to see through their lies and deceptions.
To our advantage, we now have the internet, which gives the ordinary citizen the ability to see through the deceptions and lies, and the capability to be real “journalists”, quite often getting and reporting the story TRUTHFULLY before the mainstream media.
In fact, there are calls by “mainstream media” to “license” journalists, in an attempt to keep these “citizen journalists” out…twenty years ago, any journalist suggesting such a scheme would have been thrown out, but nowadays…who knows?

There is a gentile class of people who benefit, and indeed one might wonder if Jews would have any influence at all if their interests were opposed to the managerial elite George Orwell called those “who effectively control the means of production: that is, business executives, technicians, bureaucrats and soldiers… [who will] “eliminate the old capitalist class, crush the working class, and so organize society that all power and economic privilege remain in their own hands”. While there is no doubt that the tendency for IQ regression to the mean does minority of people fall out of this class there is still continuity enough for the class to project itself into the future and flourish even if no family line survives in it all that long.

When you look at popular riots and massacres such as the Corsican Vespers or the anti Semitic ones against New Christian in medieval Spain, the technocrats of the day ( officials) being edged out of their traditional lucrative sinecures by aliens is always the root cause. And yet in Spain the King did nothing about it until he had to use the people to fight other countries, Only then did the Purity of the Blood laws remove the crypto Jews from the official positions that they had displaced the Spanish non-noble gentiles from.

I think you are right that he countries can be weakened as a class within it grows stronger, but I don’t think it is only Jews who grow stronger.. The managerial class are having fewer children but that may be an attempt to better educate them and keep them in their parents class. The lower orders of Western society are the ones being hurt by the current dispensation, unfortunately they are helpless. Unless it becomes necessary to draw on them for fighting kind of conflict much larger than any current wars.

    https://americanaffairsjournal.org/2017/05/new-class-war/

Most of today’s billionaires were born into this upper-middle class, and their descendants tend to disappear back into it in a generation or two. Actual hereditary aristocrats who survive in the modern West are anachronisms who, for the most, part avoid ridicule by disguising themselves as hard-working professionals and managers.

How big is the managerial elite? A rough surrogate is higher education. Only around a third of Americans have bachelor’s degrees. But many of these are degrees from low-ranked colleges whose holders are best understood as belonging to the upper strata of the working class. Using professional and graduate degrees as a surrogate for membership in the managerial elite would make it no more than ten or fifteen percent of the population.

Most of LBJ’s oldest and closest political allies, (ie established Southern Democrat political bosses), warned him to stay out of Vietnam militarily, because it was a no win situation. He ignored them.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%C3%AA_Du%E1%BA%A9n#Political_infighting_and_power

In 1963,Ho Chi Minh purportedly corresponded with South Vietnamese President Ngô Đình Diệm in the hope of achieving a negotiated peace

The leadership in charge of of North Vietnam was altered contemporaneously with American military involvement, Lê Duẩn became far more influential than and he was not going to settle for anything less than total victory.

Throughout the Vietnam War of 1955 to 1975, Lê Duẩn took an aggressive posture. He saw attack as the key to victory.

The US could not destroy the enemy’s army without risking war with China, so Lê Duẩn (who had sent his son to the USSR) could continue to order peasants to their deaths in the South. After Tet it was indeed a more conventional war in which the US inflicted huge causalities on North Vietnamese Army main force units (leading to them not burying their dead leaving weapons and food caches unconcealed ect but there were no mass surrenders, North Vietnam was not a democracy, and could not be invaded so there was no way to make Lê Duẩn stop.

It was of course clear to anyone with some common sense that the stupid Brussels clique would do anything to punish the rebels,…

…yet the Brexiteers behaved as if the battle were over. They behaved as if the consequences of the election of Tsipras, and the uxi vote in Greece, had NOT been object lessons, to use in preparation for an upcoming battle.

IMHO, to the EU, economy health is subordinate to political control. To them, prosperity is a political instrument, not a goal. I believe they’ll fiddle the books to their advantage.

The EU victory may be Pyrrhic, in the sense that it weakens them politically in the short term. But it’s an open question whether it will lead to their future defeat in the long term, as the metaphor implies, or, whether it will simply let them reconsolidate.

    Events, however, continue to press.

A real war would require the managerial–technocratic ruling class to draw on the ethnic majority working masses’ enthusiastic participation, and to secure it the elite would need to run Western states far more equitably. Good thing there is China.

  76. This comment maybe is off topic, it would fit the article ‘Terror of war on populism’.
Whatever, French police, in trying to control the Yellow Vest insurrection, have now been video’t with asssault rifles with live ammunition
    https://www.krone.at/1843556
The excuse, not completely nonsense of course is, that to continue beating police already lying down because of injuries, is unacceptable.
Yet, killing unarmed civilians usually backfires, as the USSR experienced after putting down the Hungarian, Tsjechoslovakian and Polish insurrections.
Nevertheless, the acronym EUSSR more and more seems to fit the Brussels ruling clique.

I agree that organized Jewry, on its own, could never have attained the power that it has in the West.

In my opinion, the key event was the 1980’s digital revolution, with the opportunities for record extra profits through outsourcing manufacturing to Asia (Western sales prices combined with Asian costs). Neoliberal globalization was the new religion, with global corporate elites effectively selling out the future of the West.

The intellectual foundations of neo-liberal economics and globalization were kindly provided by Jewish intellectuals, emphasizing the gains in global efficiency, corporate profitability, and international development, while lying about the effect on Western working and middle classes (who got cheap goods, loss of skills and unemployment).

The key point, IMO, was that global corporations had to square the position politically in the West (difficult), so special interest lobbying (corruption) had to go into overdrive to protect their globalization and open frontiers.

Once political corruption was standardized, Zionists could easily join in (they had the contacts and the money), get their $ trillion M.E. wars and also get their private bank (the FED) to issue the debt (dumped on the public) to pay for it all + their MSM to provide the narrative.

Conclusion that the Globalists and the Zionists have different agendas but they need each other.

“FUBAR is the current state of the GWOT. buy the way. A similar story.”

The elites have “wised up” since the Vietnam debacle. They learned a few lessons, and they learned them well, hence the NEVER ENDING GWOT.

1)The use of an all volunteer military is essential for the never ending supply of cannon fodder. Ever day citizens with a shot at normal life will never be met by: You are hereby ordered for induction into the Armed Forces of the United States. This will put an end to any real anti-war movement.

2)The media was to be owned by pro-war advocates in the government and military. There were to be no more stories of “baby killer’s” and “massacres” such as My Lia. The military was to be praised and honored at every turn. All mistakes were to be buried, not exposed. No more spitting on returning soldiers, all were to greeted with parades and waving flags.

Sad to say, I see nothing but war and destruction on the horizon of our dying empire. It’s really too bad when you think what a REAL force for global good America could have been if the whole of her energies were directed at the advancement of humanity instead of its death and destruction.

    Vietnam again…
There is more to the Vietnam war that is never discussed or even brought out in honest debate.
After much research on the subject, as well as serving a “tour” in Vietnam, seeing for myself, and talking with many people I have come to the following conclusion:
The Vietnam situation was an INVASION by the communist North, and was not a “civil-war” which is the most common explanation, even today.
There are both cultural and language differences between the North and the South. The South had no desire to be “ruled” by the communist North. All one has to do is look at how many people “voted with their feet” and moved south after the partition in 1954.
The United States did have a valid fear of communism taking over that whole part of Southeast Asia. It was feared that Cambodia and Thailand would be the next “dominoes” to fall to communism.
It is interesting to note that, when the communists took over, they could not enforce the same rigid communist controls and goals on the South as they had on the North.
Yes, there were many failures and setbacks, with the South Vietnamese government being corrupt (which government (even the USA) isn’t corrupt?)
There was war profiteering going on with American companies “getting in on the action”. An interesting note–major American contractors formed a consortium–RMK-BRJ which handled most civil-engineering projects throughout South Vietnam. RMK was a contraction for “Robertson-Morrison Knudsen”, Morrison Knudsen being a large American firm. BRJ was a contraction for Brown and Root, another large American firm.
The “R” in RMK was none other than Pat Robertson’ Senator daddy Absolom Willis Robertson. The “J” in BRJ was none other than President Lyndon Baines Johnson. So much for American politicians being involved in war profiteering.
    More to come…

Those who voted for leaving the EU were, in my opinion, based on tv interviews in GB after the referendum, average GB citizens, who never wanted more than a free trade zone.
Arguments I heard were like ‘we now have enough Poles here, they even interfere with vacuum cleaners’.
Heard no more grumbling over village petrol pumps, that had to be closed because of EU regulations.
From small businesses, Ltd. no longer allowed, high cost of starting business, producing clothes not for export, yet having to comply with EU labeling rules.

These average Britons had the illusion that the EU is just a honest organisation of nations, an organisation that one can leave if it is more a hindrance than a benefit.
Even if tonight the whole Brexit is cancelled, the true nature of the EU has been advertised in a way that nobody has misunderstood.

Macron has started his broad national consultation, the average citizen all of a sudden can join in political debate.
The last time the French citizen was consulted in a clear way was in 2005, the referendum on giving away sovereignty to Brussels.
The French voted ‘no’, the politicians did ‘yes’.

Now, tonight, it is quite possible that the same happens: the British voted ‘leave’, but GB stays.

I for one cannot imagine that the French let them be fooled again, in his last open letter Macron writes of ‘those who have chosen to come to live with us, who we must integrate’.
In other words, anyone anywhere in the world can decide to come to France, from day one they have the same rights as those who lived there for decennia, generations.
French police now have been given assault rifle with live ammunition.
A ‘no Brexit’ will give the French Yellow Vests more spiritual ammunition.

You write about the long term, in my opinion the term already is far too long, since 2005.
Trump ended his UN speech with ‘and god bless the nations of this world’, in November 2018 the status of EU embassies in the USA was lowered from ’embassy of a nation’ to ’embassy of an international organisation’.
In my opinion the era of globalisation, the EU is globalisation, is over.
Would be surprised if at Christmas the EU still exists.

You are correct that a military “draft” would help to put a stop to many of our present “wars” almost all of which ARE fought for the benefit of “poor little Israel”–not the USA.
However, I must part ways when it comes to honoring American troops. The pendulum has swung the other way when it comes to honoring the American military. In fact, it is Vietnam veterans who have sworn to NEVER again allow the American military to be disrespected by those who didn’t or wouldn’t serve…
As a product of and participant in the Vietnam war, having extensive knowledge of the Vietnam situation, atrocities by American troops were extremely rare.
Yes, My Lai was a horrible, sickening display of out-of-control American troops, which should have resulted in many more prosecutions, but atrocities by the communists were much more frequent, and never reported by the American mainstream media. Look up the communist massacre at Duc Duc. The communists not only slaughtered the occupants of the village, but tortured men, women and children as well. I’ll bet that you and most others have never heard of it. There were many other instances of communist atrocities throughout the South.
MEDCAPS were “medical civic action programs” in which medical treatment, inoculations and other preventive measures were rendered to Vietnamese civilians by American Navy corpsmen, Army medics and doctors. There were cases where, after the Americans vacated the village, the VC would come in and chop off the arms of those who received inoculations–men, women, children–it did not matter to them. Cooperating with Americans would result in maiming and even slaughter by those espousing a “communist paradise”.
As to disrespect of returning veterans, blaming those who are sent off to war is NEVER right. Yes, we have a voluntary military force, but those who serve DO sign on the dotted line “for up to and including one’s life”.
It is interesting to note, that when the military draft was abolished, the protests stopped. The “anti-war protesters” cared not one wit about the plight of the Vietnamese people, but were only concerned about one thing–saving their own skins. Even present-day “uber-patriot” rick-and-roller Ted Nugent got in on the “game”, defecating and urinating on himself and not washing for a month before reporting for induction. He was sent home. He later declared that Vietnam was “not his war”.
These same “anti-war” protesters were totally silent when the Vietnamese boat people started escaping their “communist paradise” in droves, risking life and limb in the process. I, for one will NEVER have respect for those “anti-war protesters.

    You’re missing the point.

The “elite” can enjoy a “democracy” – even if it’s managed and fake – as long as they have the consent of the governed. That’s gone now and we’re moving into a stage where the 0.001% are trying to force the 99.999 to comply.

“I think if we don’t vote for the deal tonight we will do damage to our democracy by saying to people we are not going to implement a Brexit, and the opportunity that all of us have to live up to our democratic obligations is clear.”

This then is the fifth time at least that what voters want has been ignored.
We had the three referenda in 2005, France, Ireland, Netherlands.
Forgot the number of ignored referenda in the last two years or so in the Netherlands, the anti Ukraine EU association, the Dutch Patriot Act, Sleepwet, the nickname from fishing, trawling.
Anti Macron political parties in France say about his ‘great national debate’ ‘il ne sert a rien’, it means nothing.

Merkel and Macron seem to be discussing an EU army, they fail to understand that a house on fire needs firefighters, not an army.
Lacking a constitution GB now is in complete chaos, also legally.
In stead of a constitution GB relies on custom, but of course there is no Brexit custom.

But leaving the legal considertions aside, what will be the political consequences, among politicians, among the population, both in GB and in the EU member states.
Never in my life anticipated to experience such a mess, just caused by politicians believing WWII propaganda.

Apologies for this belated reply. Recent vents in the UK have just confirmed that the political situation was what everyone thought it was.

These average Britons had the illusion that the EU is just a honest organisation of nations, an organisation that one can leave if it is more a hindrance than a benefit.
Even if tonight the whole Brexit is cancelled, the true nature of the EU has been advertised in a way that nobody has misunderstood.

Power once acquired is never freely relinquished. The EU’s treatment of Varoufakis, and the subsequent nullification of the Greek uxi vote by closing ATM machines, made plain what was to be expected.

While Farage did argue the case for national sovereignty, he downplayed the predictable EU political and financial resistance. It’s politically tricky to sell the necessary idea, that considerable national courage would be needed to weather the economic rage the EU is likely to express in the upcoming decades. The truth is, EU bureaucrats and UK elites are going to make it as difficult as possible for the UK to leave, and IMF and World Bank financiers are likely to impose as many negative financial consequences as they can conjure to make sure that no one else even thinks of leaving. Despite seeing deception emerge through the fog across Europe, in the end, the people may simply decide to jettison any pretensions of democracy.

I do agree that Britain is only one of several countries, alongside France, Italy and perhaps Spain, coming to resist the oligarchic EU agenda, but IMHO only the eastern Visegrad group has so far shown the basic level of courage needed to face down financial punishment, political ostracization, and indeed, the demonization of the Always-Defaming-Loonbags, that such political disobedience incurs.

You write about the long term, in my opinion the term already is far too long, since 2005.

If only it were shiorter, but, to mangle a famous quotation, the term of payment for the price of liberty is not simply long, but eternal. A political struggle to dismantle the EU has a scope comparable to the struggles between the liberals and reactionaries following the Napoleonic Wars, and here we haven’t even reached 2048! The struggle is likely to drag on, and evolve, over decades, if not centuries, and I doubt that the outcome, like the post-Napoleonic, century, will ever be decisive. The best hope is that populist voices will thrive, and that popular will as a political force, will survive.

    NOT the only legislative achievement.
There is FIRST STEP in December 2018 backed by the ACLU and Urban League which begins to reverse the New Jim Crow laws that the Clintons and others enacted back in the day when Hillary called young Black males “serial predators.”
Obama never did that but the “racist” Trump has done so.
And although not legislative the end of TPP on day one as promised, the Singapore Summit with the end of NK nuclear and ICBM testing and the end of US provocative war games, the withdrawal from Syria and Afghanistan and Iraq where 100o more troops have come out in the last two months with a large number already withdrawn in 2018. These are things Killary and the rest of the Respectables have greeted with alarm and contempt – mass murdering racists that they are.

And when they lose “the consent of the governed”, what is the mechanism by which it changes? Voting? Angry and disorganized citizens charge trained military personnel armed with machine guns and tanks? [Sort of like Kent State except if the National Guard had been ordered to deliberately kill the maximal number of hippies.] Or is it magic?

Do you think it is possible we live in a world where the bad guys generally win, and they can keep winning for a long time? Perhaps justice is precious precisely because it is a rarer commodity than gold?
