The Philadelphia Eagles meet the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl on Sunday (February 4). But, 52 years after it began, this may be the last time the Super Bowl commands American football fans’ undivided attention—because America itself is dividing.

World Wrestling Entertainment [WWE]’s Vince McMahon announced January 25 that he is bringing back the XFL, and Main Stream Media enforcers are furious. [‘Alt-Football?’ Left Furious At Return Of XFL, WND, January 26, 2018] But they shouldn’t be surprised: the return of the XFL is only natural at a time when the NFL is taking sides in the culture war against the Historic American Nation. And, just as Donald Trump rallied actual Americans to defy the MSM, McMahon could find a large constituency ready to defy our hostile elite.

Of course, President Trump blasted the NFL players who knelt in protest during the national anthem, saying they should be fired. MSM journalists backed the anti-American players, and dutifully pressed McMahon on the flag issue at his press conference—especially as the XFL’s colors are now red, white and blue. McMahon made it clear his players would stand for anthem:

“I think, again, it’s a time-honored tradition to stand and appreciate the national anthem with any sport,” McMahon said during a press conference introducing the league. “Here in America–for that matter, in any country…so I think it’d be appropriate to do that.”

[XFL players should stand for national anthem, Vince McMahon says, by Thomas Barrabi, Fox Business, January 25, 2018]

And, in another sharp break from NFL practice, McMahon also said that players would not be allowed to compete if they have criminal records. [No kneeling, no criminals: XFL’s new rules draws cheers, jeers on Twitter, by Pete Blackburn, CBSsports.com, January 25, 2018]

McMahon’s make sense considering his background. Though raised in North Carolina, he’s spent his adult life in Connecticut, where, after buying out his father’s stake in the WWF wrestling organization, he worked to consolidate wrestling territories across the country into the WWF (renamed WWE in 2002). The new wrestling franchise became a global phenomenon that created icons like Hulk Hogan, the Ultimate Warrior, Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Rock. From being a regional sideshow, McMahon turned the WWE into a powerful trendsetter in both sports and entertainment.

The WWE has traditionally drawn on Politically Incorrect themes to create both heroes and villains. Older fans will remember Hulk Hogan desecrating the Soviet flag, as an American audience cheered wildly.

But in more modern times, right-wing Americanism was treated with more complexity.

Consider one “Jack Swagger,” who called himself a Real American, would use “We The People” as his slogan, brandished a Gadsden flag, and, as he himself noted, somewhat prophesized the rise of Trump. [Jack Swagger Talks WWE’s Fascination With Foreign Heel Gimmicks, Fightful, December 15, 2017]

Swagger’s manager, “Zeb Coulter,” once went on a rant that Glenn Beck’s The Blaze called an attempt to “defame” the Tea Party. Coulter screamed:

I look around and I see a country I don’t even recognize. I see people with faces not like mine. I see people that I don’t even know what they’re saying. They can’t even talk to me. And I look around and I think, where did all these people come from? But most importantly I think, how do we get rid of ’em? We the people! Americans, real Americans, know the truth! Zeb Colter knows the truth! Jack Swagger knows the truth! Because this is the land of the free and the home of the brave, not the land of the free and whoever wants to cross our borders! … It’s our country and it’s our land, to protect and defend!

[Have You Heard the WWE’s Wildly Racist ‘Tea Party’ Wrestling Character Named Jack Swagger?, by Erica Ritz, February 20, 2013]

Originally, Swagger was supposed to be a heel (villain). But he eventually became a face (good guy), with the audience joyously embracing his slogan of “We the People.”

In some ways, it presaged how Donald Trump himself went from reality show heel to hero in the eyes of so many Americans.

And that’s no accident. Trump (a WWE Hall-of-Famer) and McMahon are long-time friends, partnering together in the 1980s to promote WrestleMania IV and V at one of Trump’s Atlantic City properties [Donald Trump and WWE: How the Road to the White House Began at ‘WrestleMania,’ by Aaron Oster, Rolling Stone, February 1, 2017]. In 2007, they even faced off in a match at WrestleMania XXIII. (You’ve probably seen the edited video in which Trump clotheslines McMahon with a CNN logo.)

And while Vince’s wife, two-time CT GOP Senate nominee Linda McMahon, is hardly an immigration patriot, President Trump nonetheless chose her to be head of the Small Business Administration and hosted the McMahon family at the White House.

Vince McMahon appears to be a pure civic nationalist. He calls Martin Luther King his “hero.” But he also told Playboy in 2001 that “This country gives you opportunity if you want to take it, so don’t blame your environment” . [The Story of Vince McMahon, by David Shoemaker, The Ringer, June 2, 2016] Such proud patriotism doesn’t square with a “mainstream” rhetoric demanding adherence to concepts of “white privilege” and “structural racism.”

Thus, it’s not surprising McMahon’s attempt to Make Football Great Again was quickly denounced as racist by the checkmarks on Twitter and as “divisive” by ESPN pundits. [Well That Didn’t Take Long: Rebooted Xfl Already Being Called Racist, By Donn Marten, Downtrend, January 25, 2018]

Consider the reaction of one Bruce Arthur[Email him] a SJW sports columnist for the Toronto Star

Or ESPN’s Michael Wilbon:

“[I]t seems like just garbage—like he wants to sell some sort of whitewashed, idealistic brand of something to the country. I don’t think people are going to buy that. I don’t think you have enough people to fill the spots to even play it. The game is going to end in two hours, you can’t have a criminal record, you can’t have any rebels because you’re all going to salute the flag. I don’t believe in people like this. I don’t believe in this guy, specifically.”

[ESPN’s Wilbon Describes the XFL as a ‘Whitewashed, Idealistic Brand’ of Football, by Trent Baker, Breitbart, January 25, 2018]

These are arrogant reactions considering NFL ratings were down 10 percent in 2017 from the prior year, with white fans making up 85 percent of the lost viewership. [The NFL’s 2017 ratings slide was mainly fueled by white viewers and younger viewers, by Jason Clinkscales, AwfulAnnouncing.com, January 8, 2018]. The actions of black players may have been praised by Leftist sportswriters, but many fans saw them as divisive.

Enter the XFL.

As the Daily Caller’s Scott Greer noted:

“They [fans] don’t want politics, they just want to sit back, relax and watch the game. And that’s what Vince McMahon understands. He has a very tough challenge competing against the NFL and the already-crowded field of sports right now, but just promising a politics-free sport where everyone stands for the anthem and we ban everyone with criminal convictions, you know, I think a lot of Americans would like that, and he sees a market opportunity right now.”

[TheDC’s Greer On Fox Business: Americans Want Politics-Free Sports, by Justin Caruso, Daily Caller, January 26, 2018]

In fact, there does seem to be a market for people who want to see a positive image of their country and who are disgusted with the NFL. [Veterans group not backing down from NFL over #PleaseStand ad rejected for Super Bowl program, by Peter Dawson, Star-Telegram, January 31, 2018] Like Trump, McMahon still believes the USA is like the nation of his youth, where hard work and love of country are the recipe for success in life. And he aims to serve that market.

But McMahon may be underestimating what he’s facing. Colorblind patriotism is increasingly denounced as “white nationalism” today. And an increasing number of white people don’t just want an escape via politics-free entertainment—they really want their country back.

As even professional sports begins to divide, every American is going to have to take a side on far more fundamental questions in the near future. The conflict is irrepressible.

Hey guys; it’s time for me to come clean. I’ve been living a lie for 10 years now. The truth is, I’m just like you, Kersey, Derb, Federico, Sailer and the rest.

I was fine with this deception until the knee-grows finally drove a stake into the heart of my beloved league the NFL this year! I mean, all that good, clean white conservative fun, ruined by some dancing celebrating, malcontent jigaboos.

Hey, the NFL and it’s upstanding white players would have a beautiful thing if it weren’t for them. A BEAUTIFUL thing, it would be just like ancient Athens…

  2. There’s a lot of demand to see a sport where whites dominate physically and culturally.

If Vince McMahon is smart, he’ll fill up the league with white players. Especially at positions where whites are supposedly not that good, like tight end, cornerback, and running back. Lots of whites want a sport where the average athlete looks and talks like them. I’m not saying the XFL should be all-white, but 50-60% would be high enough to hold fans.

I suppose you could argue the quality of play would be worse, but most fans are too dumb to notice. Lots of people just watch sports so they can live vicariously through someone else’s fame. If that someone else happens to physically resemble you, it’s easier to feel connected to them.

McMahon is gonna have to scare up more than a handful of billionaires to pony up the pallets of cash needed to run a professional football team in a competitive league that the public feels compelled to watch on the tube and buy tickets to see in person. Sponsors to buy commercials on his televised games will also be essential. No one will watch an unknown quantity on pay-per-view, so he’d better find a network with greater exposure than the Weather Channel. The whole enterprise will be a much heavier lift than launching the XFL (or the WFL or the USFL) the first time around. The niche for quirky simulated pro football is already filled by Arena football. Transmogrifying NCAA football into a pro game would have a greater probability of success. Of course, the people presently controlling things there would never touch McMahon with a 10-yard pole.

  5. It is reminiscent of the old Chris Rock stand-up routine about towns that have malls having two malls; one that the white folks go to and one that the white folks used to go to.

If I were asked to re-design football, I’d eliminate unlimited substitution, except for quarterback, reduce quarters to twelve minutes, maybe add a couple of time-outs per half, and impose weight limits on players. I think you’d get a better sport, but those head injuries are probably going to kill it anyway.

How much of the ratings drop was actually due to people no longer wanting to view gladiators at the Coliseum and on TV and how much was due to people ‘cutting the cord’ and moving away from cable/satellite TV?

McMahon’s XFL is just another ‘Bread and Circuses’ distraction to keep Americans dulled down to the point of having an IQ equivalent of a potted plant. Along with the NBA, NASCAR, MLB, NHL, MLS and don’t forget all the hoopla that emanates from college sports.

So lay back in your Lazy Boy rockers, consume some Clydesdale horse urine, eat a bucket of chips and let your mind turn into sludge while the thieves, liars, con artists, mass murderers, SJW’s and terrorists that have taken control of the USA, finish turning our nation into a complete police state.

Trivia aficionados playing a game for money all chose not to prepare for football questions. Did they even know the Super Bowl was a week away? I am guessing the NFL may have paid for the category football as product placement ad. So it is not a protest, people really don’t care, don’t think it is important, are not interested, and don’t know the rules or vocabulary of ‘American rules’ football, or even played it.

I will hazard a guess but to raise a child playing football you have to have 100% of your health insurance paid for by the government or your employer. These days that means daddy and/or mommy works for the government or you qualify for medicaid. Rich kids’ parents avoid concussion ball like the plague.

I am one of those people who is a long time non football fan, never played, and don’t know the rules, vocabulary ect. I took a small interest when the black guys showed some ‘beans’ and did the kneeling thing, and was somewhat embarrassed for other older and elderly whites like myself when the only response they could think of was that kneeling is mysteriously disrespectful. I know I would fire those guys if they were doormen said the president. One day maybe the MS-13 kids will show elderly white America what disrespect looks like.

  14. I don’t think this is going to work. Thoughtful people have not lost their interest in football simply because of Troofie’s kneelin’ knee-grows. The fact of the matter is that their interest has been on the wane for years but in America you have to at least feign an interest in football in order to keep up appearances.

The whole professional sports culture is rather off-putting these days. It’s the exorbitant salaries, the crass commercialism, the SJWism, the off-field criminality and on-field debauchery of the players. It’s also the fact that sports have become more popular with girls lately. For some reason, a lot of young women today feel compelled to act like “one of the guys” when it comes to sports, and so they adopt the whole Sunday-desecrating, jersey-wearing, fantasy league-playing, idiotic culture that their fathers, husbands, boyfriends, and baby-daddies subscribe to.

Of course, being women, they can never understand the actual appeal that sports have for the male mind, and they are all just faking it in one way or another. Their phoniness comes through in their typically exaggerated and tasteless female reactions, e.g. loud, drunken cheering and jeering and officious competitiveness, all designed to signal how down they are with the sports scene. This is the pathetic behavior of beta women.

It would be as if a bunch of guys wanted to signal their acceptability to women by cultivating an obsessive interest in soap operas and romance novels (pretty darn beta). Most normal men find these things to be almost unbearably boring, and I daresay that normal women should feel the same way about sports. There is something wrong with our women when they are all cucking out just to get the attention of a bunch of loser guys who aren’t worth it anyway.

I responded to the $400 and $1000 Jeopardy answers/questions correctly because neither required knowledge of football game rules.

Trivia aficionados playing a game for money all chose not to prepare for football questions. Did they even know the Super Bowl was a week away?

Jeopardy is taped two to four months in advanced. The contestants had no way of knowing that they were going to be on a show just before the Super Bowl. They were just as likely to have received questions regarding the Academy Awards, the Olympics, or depending on the taping schedule, even NCAA college basketball for March Madness.

The XFL is doomed to fail, once again, not only because of tradition -the “storied” rivalry of the Packers vs. the Bears began in 1921, almost a century ago, to give but one example- but also because the players, especially the quarterbacks, will be manifestly inferior to those in the NFL Unlike basketball, in which all 5 positions are equal in importance, football is not an egalitarian sport. The quarterback is the most important player, by far. And most of the great quarterbacks, and those who are good rather than bad or mediocre, are still white and will be so in the near future. If the XFL could sign all the white NFL starting quarterbacks, and talented back-ups like Nick Foles, and all the best white college quarterbacks, the XFL would not only survive but thrive and soon surpass the NFL in popularity among white fans who are repelled by black thugs and idiots who kneel during the National Anthem to protest white cops shooting and killing black criminals like Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown n self-defense. But that will never happen, of course.

My suggestion would be to limit substitutions to 3 per quarter with a 15 yard penalty for substitutions beyond this. That would mean all players would play offense, defense, and special teams. Stamina would be at a premium, the game would move more quickly and fluidly, and perhaps the genetics required to play it at a high level would not exclusively come from West Africa.

Flipping the channels. Watched about 5 minutes (total) of the Super Bowl.
Foles . . “Ignore the clock. Ignore the score. Just play the game.” was best 10 seconds.

On another 15 second hit, T-MOBILE was running a sappy ad about “EQUALITY.”

Immediately called them to advise that they need to stick to running a business.
And that I would be finding a new supplier ASAP.

Thanks for that fascinating glimpse into the workings of a superior intellect.

  41. It amazes me how much of the right-wing absolutely hates the concept of freedom.

I could imagine a dictator-state like North Korea putting rules into place that dictate the posture of every person to be assumed while the National Anthem is played or the flag displayed. But such ideas are an abomination in a supposedly ‘free’ country like America.

Its is completely and totally anti-American and against everything that America once stood for to put meaningless symbols like a song or a scrap of cloth as being more important than the basic American idea of ‘freedom’ and the original notion that America is a free country of free citizens.

I thus cringe in horror at the right-wing in this country desiring to forbid any displays of individuality or of political statements in favor of rigid, authoritarian rules of exactly how every person must act when a song is played or a scrap of cloth displayed. Combine this with the current drive of the left-wing to overthrow democracy and put the Deep State (and themselves) into power, and it seems that America is now doomed as a free country of free citizens no matter if the left or the right should prevail.

    RIP America.

It seems the message is that Jews are in the driver’s seat giving orders in a multicultural setting or environment. That’s certainly the case in America.

Then you have moronic goys on jewtube saying how much they loved the commercial.

Screw McMahon. WWE did Benoit so dirty and to this date have never come clean. Benoit committed his horrible acts due to extreme brain damage he had suffered from wrestling. Benoit deserves no less sympathy than his wife and son. The WWE can rot for all I care.

  45. But if the Superbowl died, wouldn’t you miss stuff like that tongue-in-cheek truck ad quoting the black guy the government capped, and suffocated, and horked on in his death throes?

Judging a comment by the identity of the commenter is generally a rather womanly thing to do. Regardless of who wrote it, the comment was on point. Pro football is a stupid distraction that helps to pacify a dumb and lazy populace while our country is being exploited and destroyed.

We’re familiar with (((relentless anti-White male propaganda))) disguised as (((advertising))).

The moronic enthusiam in (((YewTube))) comments following these (((ads))) reeks of (((ad agency plants))). A hasbara/sayanim sideline, I’m guessing.

What’s distinctly execrable about he NFL protests is not that the players knelt and raised their fists during the National Anthem but why they did so: to denounce and protest the right of cops to shoot and kill black thugs when they resist arrest and assault them so as not to be killed or seriously injured. Just imagine the reaction and outrage and hysteria if scores of white players knelt during the anthem in 2016 to protest Obama’s support for the cop-hating and white-hating lunatics of BLM and to defend the right of police and other whites to shoot and kill black criminals in transparent self-defense.

“Toyotas are great, but Toyota should not hire Jewish ad agencies or we get Jew supremacist propaganda.”

You are exactly right. Jews that are money and power hungry use their superior intellect to scam and take advantage of Whites with significantly lower IQ’s. These type of Jews have almost total dominance in sectors of our society that allow them financial and political control: Entertainment, media, financial organizations and both political parties in this country as well as other countries. Most all Whites in these sectors are useful idiots and serve at the Jewish pleasure.
The average 15 point IQ advantage the Ashkenazi Jews have over average White IQ is a tremendous tool to control Whites.

  50. Realist says:
    @anon

    No it doesn’t.
It gives those Jews that are greedy and worship control, more power. Most Whites don’t know or care about this. They are happy to give adulation to their entertainment heroes, gamble, drink and other useless bullshit, all the time oblivious to the monetary ass kicking they are experiencing.
You don’t see many Jews drink, gamble or in other ways fritter away their money.

I’m not sure what an old woman thinks about football, and don’t care – I care what “Greg Bacon” WROTE about football, I agree totally, though I don’t know what the MLS (league?) is. I especially like the part about the Clydesdale horse piss. If you’re gonna drink cheap swill, at least make it Miller High Life – I have a soft spot for that stuff.

Car racing is OK. One time at the drag strip hearing and feeling the noise of those engines on that nitromethane is something all of us should experience at least once, along with monster trucks.

  53. @grapesoda

How would the fantasy-football “players” rate in terms of testosterone and ass-kicking ability, Fanta-Boy? That stuff is all about stats. Not as any sleight to our host here, but stats is kind of nerdy – not Star Trek convention-attending nerdy, but quite a bit though.

Possibly some of the non-NFL watchers were using their testosterone in different ways on Superbowl Sunday than to shout out luvie-dovey screams at some thugs on the TV screen. Hell, I dunno. I don’t know who won the damn game, because I don’t do my taxes during half-time anymore – I like to owe the IRS a little bit now – gives me the leverage. Therefore, I wait until April 14th now, to get it all into the middle of the pile.

  54. @American Sulla

I am sure it is possible to cut on time off, crap, so that a game lasts no longer than 2hours and includes at least 30 to fourty minutes of actual play

Of course, at this point, you could also watch rugby which is not american, but matches (y)our defintion of what we would like to see in an XFL match

  55. @Diversity Heretic

While we’re speculating, I’d go in a bit different direction: full 15 minute quarters and no TV timeouts–just the regular breaks for quarters and halftime. With more emphasis on endurance the ridiculous size means should drop. Another idea along these lines would be continuous play by an 11-man roster with substitutions only for injury.

I think the main problem is the equipment. Athletes feel invincible in shoulder pads and masked helmets. The equipment drives the technique and the game becomes a collision sport versus a contact sport.

In sum, I’d like to see American football de-scaled socially and economically and the play revert toward Rugby union but I don’t see that happening.

    Colin Flaherty, via Ron Unz:

“…Not long afterward, Colin Flaherty’s YouTube channel focused on black crime issues was also summarily vaporized, casting into limbo the 1100-odd videos that had attracted nearly 25 million views. This was actually the second time that his channel had been eliminated by YouTube….

“Fortunately, I’m now pleased to announce that I’ve completed and released the remaining components of my new video system aimed at helping to circumvent such YouTube censorship.

“It is important to realize that YouTube’s near-monopoly on the distribution of video content is actually far less secure than might seem to be the case. A crucial fact is that the technology for hosting and serving videos has become a simple commodity these days, and although YouTube stands as the overwhelmingly dominant player, the same video files can be uploaded to any one of a number of different YouTube competitors including Vimeo, DailyMotion, and Bitchute, or even merely hosted on an individual server as simple .mp4 files. Aside from its gigantic scale and established dominance, YouTube’s main competitive advantage seems to be the convenient and attractive interface it provides for displaying the hundreds or thousands of videos that constitute a sizeable channel.

“However, I have now built a video display interface that I believe is at least as nice as YouTube’s, and currently provides convenient access access to over 250,000 videos.

    — (http://www.unz.com/video/ ]…”

    PS: Thank you, Ron.

TV stopped showing the kneelers, Game commentators stopped discussing them or Trump. So the issue is over for the average viewer. It was just another communist attempt that failed, so they made a tactical retreat. TV Jews thought White fans would rally for their teams against Trump, or something. They were wrong, they’ll try again and again and eventually find another winning communist issue such as gay marriage.

If the XFL threatens, NFL can feint right. This happened when the Fox Business channel launched with an appeal to the right (all about American Business). CNBC moved right for a while by launching some ‘Made in America’ tribute and sending their correspondents out to factories in flyover country.
