Producer James Cameron and director Tim Miller have, in the latest Terminator epic Terminator: Dark Fate, taken another billion dollar entertainment franchise and driven it into the ground in the name of Social Justice, Hollywood-Style. Here’s how it happened.

The message of the first two Terminator films is in a line from Judgement Day, sequel to the 1984 original: “There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.” Heroine Sarah Connor utters that line in a powerful but regrettably deleted scene from the first film, and delivers this message: We have the power to change the present. The future is unwritten. Unfortunately, the latest installment of the franchise delivers a less optimistic message: You, white man, are doomed. Indeed, Terminator: Dark Fate might well be called Terminator: The Great Replacement.

The Marvel superhero films have been pushing that message as well, and now the latest Terminator adds its voice. Dark Fate, a direct sequel to James Cameron’s ground-breaking Judgement Day in 1991, literally pretends that the events in Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, Terminator Salvation, and Terminator Genisys never occurred. What viewers get instead is a myth more in tune with our anti-white, anti-male present [‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Director: Why Mackenzie Davis Will ‘Scare the F— Out of’ Misogynists, by Matt Donnelly, Variety, July 10, 2019].

That message still doesn’t work well. Empty theaters and $29 million in receipts greeted the new Terminator’s in its opening weekend. Losses for 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media might exceed $130 million [‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ Puts Franchise on Ice, Faces $120M-Plus Loss, by Pamela McCintock, Hollywood Reporter, November 3, 2019].

My advice: Avoid this bomb, which one would hope kills the franchise before it gets any more preachy and ridiculous. For the record, the first two films and Rise of the Machines are an underrated trilogy.

But if you plan to see it, here’s your spoiler alert.

Set three years after the events of Terminator 2: Judgement Day, the saviors of humanity—Sarah and John Connor—live in peace. They didn’t know another T-800 Terminator, Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character that broke the mold 35 years ago, was sent back in time with the mission to murder John, the resistance leader in the post-apocalyptic future.

The second T-800 dispatches John with a shotgun before most viewers have a chance to grab their first handful of popcorn or sip their soda. It’s shocking, and not just because John Connor is killed. Rather, in just a few minutes, the storyline of the first two films is erased.

But that’s what allows director Tim Miller to retune and bring the franchise into harmony with post-white America.

The heroine for mankind’s future is a Mexican named Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes). Sarah Connor—no longer the mother of the messianic John Connor—shows up to protect her from an advanced Rev 9 Terminator (Gabriel Luna). In this John Connor-less timeline, we learn a form of artificial intelligence was designed to fight cyberwarfare, but took control from humans. Nuclear holocaust was the result. Meanwhile, a white woman named Grace (MacKenzie Davis), cybernetically enhanced by humans in the future, is sent back in time to defend the Hispanic Ramos.

Replacement message: White John Connor becomes Mexican Dani Ramos; Schwarzenegger’s white T800 becomes an nearly androgynous white woman. On that note, by the way, Slate.com’s Christina Cauterucci [Tweet her] enthusiastically reported that “when photos from the set of Terminator: Dark Fate showed Mackenzie Davis sporting a fashion bowl cut, grimy tank top, and massive deltoids, lesbian Twitter lost its mind” [Terminator: Dark Fate Is the Gayest Terminator Yet, by, November 1, 2019].

“From the get-go,” one reviewer noted, “this new film is all about diversity: Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor gets to say ‘I’ll be back’; there’s a new politicized trans-human lady Terminator, plus a Latina hero and her Latino Terminator nemesis” [Terminator: Dark Fate—Arnie’s back, but he should have stayed away: Review: All the diversity window dressing can’t hide Dark Fate’s inconsequentiality, by Tara Brady, Irish Times, October 24, 2019].

Get it? Not just a lady Terminator, but a “trans-human lady Terminator.”

Anyway, the message in the removal of John Connor and his replacement by a Hispanic woman isn’t what one would call subtle. We’re supposed to hear it, loud and clear.

And not just with Connor’s demise. Miller also offers viewers another message in a scene where our three heroines try to cross the U.S.-Mexico border illegally, only to be caught by the U.S. Border Patrol. The villainous robot from the future disguises himself as an agent and tracks them down to one of the agency’s facilities. In the ensuing, bloody fight, cages holding hundreds of illegal aliens are opened and they are freed [In the 1990s, Terminator’s Ultimate Evil Took the Form of a Cop. In 2019, It’s the U.S. Border Patrol, by Chris Klimek, Slate.com, November 4, 2019].

Where might Miller have gotten the idea for that scene?

Miller cried when it the scene was filmed. Said Luna, who played the evil Terminator, “I remember that day he shed some tears because what we were doing. Sure, they were background actors—they could go eat lunch, they could leave to go to the bathroom, things like that—but still, there were a lot of people who look like me in these cages, laying on cement floors. He recognized what was happening. He cried a little bit, kind of brought it to everyone’s attention, what was actually happening back home, and I appreciated him for that. We don’t make any overt political stances; we just show you what’s happening in the world and you receive it however as you may” [Why ‘Terminator: Dark Fate’ director Tim Miller cried during filming, by Sofia Fernandez, Yahoo!, November 1, 2019].

If you believe Miller isn’t making “any overt political stances,” I have a bridge over the Rio Grande to sell you.

The fact is, the first two Terminator films, and even the third, were too white.

In James Cameron’s original classic, a robot is sent back in time by Skynet—an artificial intelligence for national defense that has taken over the planet—first to kill a white woman whose unborn white son, John Connor, will save humanity in the future. In the second, two terminators return, both white, one to kill and one to save the teenage Connor.

The first movie shows us a young Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton). A waitress in a restaurant in early 1980s Los Angeles, the blond-haired, blue-eyed Connor is the mother of the future. Kyle Reese (Michael Biehn), a blond-haired, blue-eyed freedom fighter, was sent back from the future to protect Sarah from Schwarzenegger’s eponymous killing machine. Reese doesn’t know it, but he will become John Connor’s father during an assignation with Sarah on their one night together. Here’s the interesting plot point: John Connor sent Reese back in time.

The Terminator kills Reese, but Sarah famously prevails by crushing the remorseless robot in a hydraulic press.

In the sequel, Cameron inverted that storyline and altered movie-making technologically. John Connor, has finally defeated Skynet, but sends another Schwarzenegger T-800 back in time to defend his teenage self from a T-1000, more advanced, shape-shifting robot made of “liquid metal” (Robert Patrick). Sarah is in a mental hospital, having unsuccessfully tried to blow up the company that would create Skynet, which tried to destroy mankind.

The good terminator and John Connor free Sarah from her psych ward, destroy the technology that would bring about Skynet’s rise, and kill the T-1000 in riveting finale in which the Schwarzenegger T-800 kills itself.

They are absolutely perfect movies, but of course they lacked the Hollywood’s diversity propaganda that is redefining our culture with the de rigueur message that straight white men are the bane of existence.

If true, if white men are responsible for all the world’s evils, John Connor certainly can’t be mankind’s hero. So Terminator Dark Fate savagely murders him.

But that storyline has bombed. Badly. That’s not only a huge blow to those poisoning our culture, but also a hopeful sign that opposition grows to our displacement and replacement, whether in fiction or in fact.

In other words, no matter what our cultural elites have in store for our future, the message of the first two films stands: “There is no fate but what we make for ourselves.”

It didn’t strike me as particularly strange when the movie came out though, just exotic. Nowadays I would expect a somewhat messy office with three Asians working 24/7 with armed security wandering around the mansion. Expectations change. Have we given up?

Been waiting for this bomb to… well, bomb.

Terminator surprised everyone in 1984, T2 wowed ’em with early 90s effects that were cutting edge then and still impressive now. T3 was fun, not quite adding much but an impressive downer ending did make up for any shortcomings. That should have been it.

When they just milk it. it shows. And the wokeness makes it worse because they’re just adding Mexicans (in this case) and not really adding much new to the saga. They are guilty of pandering to Antifa and trying to stir the cold ashes of the franchise with bigger booms. Bad idea.

The previous record (as far as I’m concerned) goes to The Martian for its depiction of NASA’s dependence on Chinese space exploration rocket technology. They must have been laughing their asses off in ChiCom land when they saw that one. 11. People laugh at transhumanists now. But wait until an enhanced woman goes into the mountains and creates an ice castle with her superpowers.

Seriously, you have to postulate technological enhancements to give female characters (like Alita in Cameron’s earlier film this year) plausible super-strength and other useful abilities because real women simply don’t have what it takes to kick men’s asses. Healthy adolescent boys in their given state, like Barron Trump, already wield more upper-body strength than 99 percent of the world’s adult women.

I think T2 sucked (“Arnie, the good terminator?!!”). I didn’t bother seeing any after T2.

The hardcore sci-fi crowd of the early 90s agrees with you.

They were furious that T2 negated all the plot points of Episode One. The minute Arnie takes his bath at the end, all of the events of first movie are impossible. Worse was the forced humor, even overseas audiences were cringing when the “I need a vacation” line came up.

Lots of us just enjoyed it for what it was. T1 was drama, and fairly good for ’84. What with Star Wars and the knockoffs, it wasn’t easy to make serious science fiction without a serious in-joke (Think another classic, Escape from New York, just a couple seasons earlier. Great hook, that one.)

After the first, it was straight up “watch the fireworks” and most of us have no problem with that. T3 Rise of the Machines was a blitz of goodies. Who needed plot? Except for the closing.

That’s why they should have let it go afterwards: After the first, it was only going to be choreography.

  17. You know this started out as a very relevant review. It made sense, it highlighted what seems to be trend by millenials who want to piggyback or jumpstart a new series based on an old established storyline — thinking JJ Abrams and Start Trek — which literally wipes out the original star trrek series and its movie spinoffs by destroying Spock’s planet —

I was thinking as I read through, your comments if acurately depicting the new film is spot on.

Then you ruined it by dragging social commentary I to the previous film about of all things color. Total nonsense. It’s a well done sci fi series that actually avoids the usual tropes about social commentary on race.

Joe Morton is a classic actor who was more than well cast. He is known for his ability to act minus the usual stereotypical “black dialect”. In both Terminator 1 and 2, the black cast fists in so well, one is barely cognizant of their skin color at all. Joe Morton does a fine gone gone good job and his blackness is used — not at all — until of course you drag your own bizarre notions of about color into the two previous films which had total appeal to audiences in general.

By the way, if color is what a viewer wants to hand their hat on in these films — the message is clear through and through — whites male and female are destructive, unreasoned, irresponsible who have no grasp of future implications of their actions beyond the nose of their face. how incredibly obtuse do you have to be to think a transmexcican is avenging a policy that is the result of mexicans breaking the law.

By dragging the previous films into the nonsense of the new, you seriously weakened what started out as effective consideration about who’s doing what in Hollywood and what that says about our society.

  19. The Terminator franchise is stuck in causality hell.

“The major problem is simply one of grammar, and the main work to consult in this matter is Dr. Dan Streetmentioner’s Time Traveler’s Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. It will tell you, for instance, how to describe something that was about to happen to you in the past before you avoided it by time-jumping forward two days in order to avoid it. The event will be described differently according to whether you are talking about it from the standpoint of your own natural time, from a time in the further future, or a time in the further past and is further complicated by the possibility of conducting conversations while you are actually traveling from one time to another with the intention of becoming your own mother or father. ”
[Douglas Adams; Restaurant at the End of the Universe, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy]

The first Time Traveling Story that blew my mind (and depressed me greatly) was

Philip K. Dick’s “A Little Something for Us Tempunauts”

    https://philipkdickreview.wordpress.com/2014/06/18/a-little-something-for-us-tempunauts/

and to a lesser extend “The Meddler”

    https://philipkdickreview.wordpress.com/2014/04/29/meddler/

    The reviewer says:

The ruling council is called the Political Science Council. With this revelation it is safe to say that the bureaucratic regime described in “Meddler” is a variation of the philosopher kings idea presented in Plato’s Republic. But these academics prove no more capable in using power responsibly. Unable to be content with collecting evidence the old-fashioned way, the Political Science Council demands knowledge of the future. The results, as the story shows, are catastrophic. More than a time-travel story, “Meddler” is an assault on the pretensions of academia and its often anti-democratic tendencies. Anyone who has spent any time in an academic department knows that these people are not the ones you would want running a just society.

Here is a lecture by Scott Aaronson: https://www.scottaaronson.com/democritus/lec19.html wherein time travel that makes sense is being discussed, in the sense of “you are not allowed to use the timeline as if it were a palimpsest – one solution only!”. An approach using classical probability is used but feels unsatisfactory; you really need the superposition of “quantum mechanical probability”.

Bit of diversity in first film – the black Paul Winfield was dignified, compassionate cop in charge, Lance Henricksen was his immature, somewhat clownish subordinate.

Henricksen is more flippant and extroverted, Winfield is more subdued. Terminator is unusually sympathetic in it’s portrayal of the police. They all seem well meaning enough, and when they are slaughtered in the police station they are seen as dying bravely in combat, rather than incompetent fools who deserve to be killed. Henricksen, by the way, has said that he had such good chemistry with Winfield that he thought a TV cop show could’ve been made starring the pair. They both were very good in the movie and helped elevate it above a “routine” action or thriller movie.

The 2nd movie also had a scene with a detective interrogating Sarah, and the detective brings up the police station massacre and emphasizes that these men had families. Again, it seems like Cameron really wanted to humanize the police in both of his Terminator movies. His animus is more targeted toward arrogant tech gurus and scientists, the elites basically.

Terminator actually opens with a black guy! As it happens, he operates a garbage truck, so maybe not so diverse. Also, Kyle asks a black cop what year it is. Diversity galore! and you didn’t notice. Maybe black cops and garbage men in Los Angeles represented reality.

I spent a few minutes watching the last bit of Terminator, seeing 27 year-old Linda Hamilton, to take away the bad taste of T: DF. She was also fun to watch with Tommy Lee Jones a couple of years later in Bad Moon Rising (with bonus appearance by NFL star Bubba Smith!).

Ah, but many did. They were still the old nuts-and-bolts Analog Magazine crowd and they were unhappy the way Ben Bova was in ’77. Ben was furious enough with Lucas over Star Wars (1977) that he wrote a letter (Time or Newsweek, cannot be sure) that “Somebody likes this movie and none of us real SF writers are allowed to dissent.” All the fantasy that started with Lucas drove some of the old time rivet heads up the wall.

The fellow in England was unhappy that The Rocketeer, a picture released the same year, was overlooked. Maybe because of T2. The Rocketeer really was a delightful send-up of fantasy, and probably was unfairly neglected.

    good grief

It’s all social commentary. What I said is that this was a very sound article, until the introduction of whiteness superior schtick of the previous films. Which a pretty fine job of avoiding the color dynamics in which the blacks on screen in significant roles were normative to the standard of the day.

I did not come our of either film thinking

“black police detective” Paul Warfield, juxtaposed against Lance Henriksen is no way ridiculous or hard to believe both roles had little or impact the political or social dispositioning of whites or blacks, save in a very subtle manner. And yet Mr. Kersy bends over backwards to insinuate that thrust which makes no sense compared to the film reviewed in which the whole point was female and more poignantly, latin female empowerment against whites. My comments are based soley on the review. Given the response by the movie goers, no small number of them white, it’s a safe bet that neither film was an afront to whites based on two roles played by more than apt actors who blended in very effectively.

News for you, at the time the first two films were made, there were black lieutenants and even black engineers, we just rarely saw or heard about them that Mr. Cameron made those casting choices hardly suggests an assault on white dominance.

I have little doubt you will consider the below all some kind AA give away

    https://www.blackengineer.com/article/beya-winners-in-all-categories-for-the-black-engineer-awards-revealed/

If the film’s tend had been blacks getting whites in some manner of social justice schema, I am sure my comments would be different.

Gotta always be a chick in this day and age. If they depicted married couples, they’d always have to be interracial like on the tee vee and raising a transgender offspring. Toss in all of Hollywood’s remakes, including most of the Disney animated catalogue, and somebody’s plans for major social engineering in this country are not very subtle.

  43. Sadly, hints that James Cameron had already started drinking the progressive Koolaid before writing T2 are evident. They were subtle and didn’t overtly create a distraction, but they were there. Making Arnie a good guy was more of a marketing decision, but Sarah Conner was transformed into a super warrior (similar to Cameron’s Ripley in Aliens, Jamie Curtis by the end of True Lies – pattern established?) – which helped pave the way for the endless super warrior female characters now ubiquitous in action films. The order the kid gives to the T101 that he isn’t allowed to kill anyone was partly to get the PG13 rating, but also to spin a tail of morality. The black scientist guy was the most obvious, who Cameron also martyrs, perpetuating the timeless Hollywood theme of the morally pure magic negro. Let’s also not forget the obligatory Hollywood cheap shots at white American (sub) culture when the T101 rousts a bar of bikers, when we see JC’s* abusive white foster parents (the viewer is manipulated into “rooting” for their death at the hands of the T1000), and the apparent sexually abusive white mental ward orderly (who also gets his comeuppance.)

Messianic characters in films often share the initials of Jesus Christ = Joe Cooper from Interstellar, John Coffee’s hideous character from the Green Mile, James Cole of 12 Monkeys, John Carter of John Carter, John Constantine from Constantine, etc.

If you destroy the film’s premise as Mr Kersy states, then it’s probably a bad idea. The movie is not really about social justice, it’s about the fate of humanity juxtaposed against a technological innovation. That premise makes it pretty clear, that the machines don’t give a hoot about skin color, gender, status or the existence of human beings. They just know humans are a problem and if that means hyperjumping to kill a potential resistance fighter so be — gender or skin color only relevant to that end — their agenda.

I guess, you can always fix that error by hyperjumping back, but for a fan of this franchise, that attempt to turn back the clock might have hollow appeal.

  54. I don’t care for movies ( I did, but I don’t watch them for years), but one should notice that, apart from this flop- Hollyweirdos, generally, succeeded to brainwash the American public. For instance, “Black Panther” was a huge success in the US & their cultural colonies (Anglosphere, some parts of Western Europe, perhaps Japan…), but most other audiences simply didn’t care for an all-black movie, even more unbelievable than superhero films (which suck, by the way). Most of Latin America, central & east Europe, Asia (Italy, Russia, India,..)… didn’t bother with that film, which can be corroborated by box office figures:

So- other than Americans & US cultural colonies, most of the world simply doesn’t care about superheroes, magical Negroes, womyn etc.

The Critical Drinker does a good review on Terminator: Terminator Dark Fate review – Yes, it really is that bad His videos are quite amusing. He usually rips apart modern films, with a quirky sense of humour.
As for the movie, never watched it and never will. Last one I watched in the franchise was T2, back in 1991. I don’t watch movies anymore, well not from Hollywood or anything from the rest of the west. They’re all promoting their agendas while brainwashing and indoctrinating the audience at the same time.
However, what I will state, about this movie is that it will reach its target audience. Jewwood knows, full well, that the above 30 generations are going to be harder to brainwash and indoctrinate. The older the harder. However, they want the younger audiences. Those who don’t know Terminator or T2, hence why we see them killing off John Connor and effectively obliterating both of the original two movies (on purpose), will be far easier to program into accepting, as Critical Drinker states, the androgynous heroine super human and the non white terminator and lead female. This is the audience they’re going for – blatant, in-yer-face, cultural Marxist programming – target the youngest generations.

Incidentally, I was having a beer the other night (as you do) and one of my friends stated to me “women these days are just so crazy. They’re aggressive, they’re violent, they just don’t have any respect”. Of course, he was speaking about the under 30’s generally, but I then stated to him “what do you expect when you all they see are movies that depict them as 100lb heroines, beating up 200lb+ men along with the promotion of the UFC and people like Amanda Nunes and Chris Cyborg and Rhonda Rousey?
These young women mimic what they see on Hollywood and TV. Added to that the WWF, not the wildlife organisation, the other wrestling one, now has gone into overdrive promoting women wrestling, now that the one-trick-pony Rousey, is on the roster, having been thoroughly beaten by Amanda Nunes in the octagon. And to boot, I believe they are also trying to introduce cross-over matches with women wrestling men. The WWF has been a key organisation into the promotion of the New World Order, even having their own New World Order wrestling stable, lead by the then ‘bad’ Hollywood Hulk Hogan, between 1996 and 2001.

Anyway, this isn’t a history of the WWF, more to show that they’re seriously pushing women’s wrestling, while Dana White, over at the UFC is doing the same, but it’s the real deal, with women belting ten bells of sh*te out of one another. Just do a search of Chris Cyborg vs Jan Finney. Then again, just search any woman’s UFC/MMA to see what the elites are pushing. It’s sickening to watch ‘mostly’ beautiful women getting they faces opened up while the blood flows. This is the masculisation of women and your average man really wouldn’t want a woman with a smashed up face, but guaranteed, the lesbians would, as it makes them look tough. They want to look tough because they’re essentially men with vaginas. One lesbian plays the role of female, the other, more butch one, the male. Even in homosexual relationships there is the male/female hierarchy roleplay.
So yes, this is why, here in Scotland, I’m finding out about so and so female/s up on a court charge for assault and battery, or glassing/bottling some other woman in the face causing serious facial disfigurement. There is more trouble today with women fighting, courtesy of being charged up on alcohol and drugs (cocaine usage is on epidemic levels here in the UK) along with a huge rise in lesbianism. It isn’t natural, it’s wrong, but it’s reality. But again, what do you expect when the msm, Hollywood and TV are promoting the movies they do?

It should not be expected of women that they return to what they really are and thus reestablish the necessary inner and outer conditions for a reintegration of a superior race, when men themselves retain only the semblance of true virility.”
― Julius Evola, Revolt Against the Modern World

As Evola also pointed out, when there is a dearth of virility in any culture or society, the “ideal” male becomes merely a priapic type- therefore you get both the rise of the female over the male as a stepping stone to complete nihilism, i.e., transgenderism, transhumanism- along with the the negrification of popular counterculture.

In light of this, it ought to be observed that the Talmudic mitzvah to kill the best of the gentiles necessarily implies elevating the very worst and nastiest among them. Steroid muscles aren’t real muscles anyway, and girls don’t like the roid monkey look, but the homosexuals do, so why do it? Also there are bizarre side effects no one talks about. I was in a “Muscle Mag” shop, and there was a girl in there that knew the owner and was interested in these guys. One came in and she propositioned him. The owner said “you can use my office”. “Linda Hamilton looks like someone’s grandma now, a wrinkly old hag. What young man (the primary audience for an action film) wants to see an old woman star in an action film?”

Ah, but you see, this again is all programming. Women, courtesy of embracing feminism, that is a career over a family, end up getting old, miserable and single, turning into barflies either picking up younger men and women for a bit of ‘fun’ when essentially they’re just practice and don’t see this. This is promoting the ‘old single feminists need love too’ trope. Hay, maybe the younger lesbians will go after the older women, but the problem is that 99% of these single, older women are heterosexual. (((They’re))) trying to fix the problem, that they didn’t think of when they created feminism. That is, these older women, in giving up family careers are going to get incredibly lonely, which younger women are going to overwhelmingly notice and therefore, choose the opposite paths they took – bye bye feminism, careers and let’s start a family. The TV and porn industry are both promoting the ‘relationship with older women’ dogma. They have a serious problem here, failing to understand that young men DON’T want washed up, old women, unable to reproduce. Regardless, they still promote the ‘inter-generational’ sex agenda on younger men and women. Younger women chase older men, not just because of money, but also general attraction, hence why you’ll see men in their 50’s dating women in their twenties and very possibly with children through that relationship, but you won’t see twenty something men, in relationships with 50+ women (or in their 40’s) because firstly they can’t reproduce and secondly, they hit the wall ages ago.

The reality that our (((masters))) never envisaged was what to do with the washed up, old hag in her 40’s+ who is unable to reproduce and who no man wants. The path of woman has NEVER been careers. All the money in the world will not make them happy, far from it. They’ll just get older and miserable. Ironically, I watched Gavin McInnes (I know he’s an arse) but on what he speaks about feminism he is bang on. He stated that he knew a woman, an editor of an uber feminist magazine, that pushed careers for women and avoiding family, but told him that she’d cry herself to sleep at night, in her 40’s, no offspring, unable to reproduce and single. He laughed at her, stating “why the hell are you pushing this crap on women when you clearly see what this has done to you?”
The Jews, in trying to create an unnatural existence for women, have come up against nature and it’s a no-brainer who’s going to win that battle. Man and woman is nature, not woman and woman, or man and man. Man impregnates woman, woman gives birth and the human race continues. We just have to stop the Jews from procreating and remove them, completely from this earth, once and for all.

I liked Mackenzie Davis’ portrayal of the super soldier for two reasons – 1) She was a great actress in the series “Halt and Catch Fire”, and 2) She had her amazing fighting skills through BEING ENHANCED. Finally, some sensibility to sci-fi. She came back part cyborg. What’s most laughable is the trend to dial down reality with 100lb women instantly destroying 400lb brutes and not break a sweat, or else having “instant skills”. Sort of how Luke Skywalker had to train, fail, get his butt kicked, in order to go all-Jedi, while the female Jedi comes out practically fully formed – Instant pilot skills, fighting skills…the “wimmens” are JUST THAT GOOD. Nonsense.

There was an old gag in one of the science fiction magazines about ways you can tell if someone is a time traveler from the future. I can’t remember all of them but they included tell-tales such as:
    – The person seems to always have the sniffles and be under the weather because they have no immunity to present day diseases.
    – When they buy something they ask if that is a lot of money, and then have trouble figuring out if their change is right.
    – When they see certain news items their response is a knowing smirk.
    – They laugh all the way through science fiction movies but nobody else gets the joke.
    – If a clerk selling them liquor asks them their birthdate they have to pause and think about it.

The TV show Wonder Woman was also feminist propaganda aimed at young girls. I remember my 5 year old sister watching it and turning to my Mom and saying “See Mom, girls are better than boys.” Interestingly, my 5 year old sister’s favorite show was Dukes Of Hazard, that was what she was naturally attracted to. The Sonny And Cher Show was also an early example of TV feminist propaganda, the opening always featured Cher on stage with Sonny, insulting the hell out of him, and he standing there and taking it.

That’s an interesting comment. If you’ve lost at marbles to a girl, you;d have heard the same thing, even without Wonder Woman. There is support for women and there is feminist theory. Schwarzenegger was a truly great body builder, his physique had “aesthetic unity”, today that scene is a nauseating freak show. Arnie was total crap as an actor. I really enjoyed the first Conan, but Arnie all but ruined it. Same with martial arts movies, you don’t use real martial artists as stars, you give special training to brilliant actors. The Japanese directors pre-1974 understood this and their movies are profound as a result. The Bruce Lee movies are crap, bad scripts and Bruce Lee was a crap actor. The only good scene in Enter The Dragon was the Hong Kong harbor scene with the water taxi, a sampan powered by a chick with a baby on her back wielding a Yulow(Chinese sculling oar) like a master. She even makes a 90 degree turn using the Yulow. Bruce Lee exudes that thin skinned, brittle egotism of the Chinese male that makes them totally intolerable, but the Chinese male’s numerous faults make them ideal chumps to start WWIII. But then you have huge hits like Black Panther or that one with the really stupid chick (who ironically was in another Pc flop, Wrinkle in Time). Someone here has already suggested that TPTB buy up ticket blocks to inflate box office figures. This is definitely a possibility, but unfortunately mainstream America still seems to be drawn to fairy tales about black technological superiority, etc. It’s like they want to believe it’s true. In other words, liberalism (a mental disorder, ultimately) still has a firm grip on the American mind.

Listening to most females talk, most do find the competitive bodybuilder look a bit gross, but how many guys even want to look like that in the first place? Lifting weights is a great way to stay in shape and not everyone with a bicep larger than 15″ is a musclebound “roid monkey.” I think Bruce Lee was mentioned in a comment. You can get everything you need, that is, you can lift your OWN weight at home and do every exercise required there, without spending any money for a gym membership. I think people go to the gym for more reasons as to keep fit. The madness, for me are people who get in their car, drive to the gym, then hop onto a running machine for half an hour, before having a shower and getting back in their car to drive. People clearly go to gyms to show off, socialise and meet members of the opposite sex, same sex, to initiate possible relationships and to advertise “look I go to the gym”.

“but the biggest “meatheads” out there are these martial arts “experts” and MMA wannabes. Most guys that I meet in the gym are pretty laid back and humble, but MOST of the martial arts clowns that I have encountered are delusional and really ignorant for the most part.”

One of the biggest problems, of late, as far as I’m concerned is MMA. What it’s essentially done is unleashed tattoos and roids on a whole new generation of thugs. This is essentially what MMA is. It’s thugs, getting into the ring to batter ten piles of sh*te out of one another and not get arrested doing so.

I’ve done martial arts for most of my life, various disciplines. I have no tattoos and I’ve never taken steroids and have never had ANY desire to get into a ring to beat up my opponent. I did martial arts to stop a fight faster than it begins and be able to survive against multiple opponents. I do my best trying to avoid trouble as all other traditional martial artists out there do. MMA is a joke. People who join MMA may have done a little boxing in the past, or Ju Jitsu, but not to a high level and then they saw MMA as a way to gain local recognition and of course, get covered in tattoos and build up bulk to attract girls, who are equally getting covered in tattoos as well. So they learn a couple of new disciplines to make up the normal three of MMA fighters – Boxing/Muay Thai – Ju Jitsu/Sambo/Brazilian Ju Jitsu – Judo/Wrestling. And then they start getting local fights.
Most MMA fighters are just thugs who want to get into a ring and fight and earn a bit of notoriety of being a hard man. Friends of mine wanted me to do it and I point blank refused. I’ve never enjoyed hurting people, even when I had no choice. These people revel in beating people up and it says alot about their character and MMA in general. All you have to do is listen to these narcissists with egos the size of Spain pre fight. It’s bred a new breed of incredibly arrogant and disrespectful peoples. They insult the very philosophy of martial arts.

You didn’t “catch” anything, Trinity, stop acting like a snarky girl. Here in Toronto, there was a Muscle Mag shop on Yonge north of College for years, don’t know or care if its still there. I was there because I was hanging with a friend that knew the owner, my friend wanted to say hello, and I got a window on stuff that no one talks about. I have lifted too, and I agree with you that the guys that work hard ARE very humble, they know what it is like to train to exhaustion, and that humbles you. I got bored with weights, and training indoors in a gym. I agree with you about the ridiculous martial arts scene, I’ve been in them for the free first lesson, and walked, never to return. The dojo’s are generally commercial operations, and squeeze their students by teaching as little as possible for the maximum amount of money, plus selling uniforms etc. However, you have a bad attitude toward martial arts that comes from ignorance. I don’t use the term “martial arts”, just ” training”. About ten years ago I switched to training out of doors and I chose the walking stick as my weapon as you can carry on the street. I chose the forgotten skill of “reverse grip”, and recreated the art myself, no lessons are available(there is Arturo Bonafont’s book from 1900, there is one translation to English available, but Bonafont has some imperfect technique). Training “reverse grip” is fantastic muscle conditioning, and it conditions the tendons too that lifting does not, plus I have acquired a fair skill at it. I highly recommend it. It uses a straight stick with no handle, so you get to carry an elegant weapon. A walking stick is only a useful weapon with considerable training, it is not for those unwilling to commit to YEARS of hard training. I train to exhaustion, the police have shown up five times, now they know me and don’t bother me. You must chose a “martial art” that corresponds to the threat you commonly face, there is no generalized skill like you see in movies. Cops train in ground fighting because they need to subdue resisting detainees, and no detainee will shank a cop, he knows he will attend his first hearing in a wheelchair. I’m a civvie, I will get shanked, or kicked in the head by his buds, so no ground fighting for me. I have never been threatened by less than three assholes, so I chose The Stick. Its weak point is it can be grabbed by your adversary, but a ferocious, continuous attack neutralizes that threat. Boxing is a great “martial art” because of its simplicity, but its best one on one, which I have never experienced. That’s enough for now…..

This statement is complete and utter BS. Who on earth have you been talking to? You’ll find that most martial artists, won’t really go near any gym to build up their muscles. They don’t need to. They learn how to defend themselves.
And geez….ever since some a-hole came onto YT to make videos about ‘McDojo’s’ everyone is calling almost every traditional martial art dojo a McDojo. Look, if someone’s going to a McDojo then it’s their own fault. They should always check the credibility of the sensei first and who he trained with. If they truly are going to some stupid Aiki dojo that’s teaching them they can use invisible energy hadokens to take down opponents, then good for the sensei managing to prove “there’s one born every minute” and I hope he/she takes them for every penny they have! But as for the overwhelming majority of martial arts that are taught, they work and the skill of the practitioner, determines the effectiveness of the martial art. There is no martial art, superior to others, only the competence of the martial artist.

“Hell, why should I pay money to practice a “martial art” that I won’t probably ever use in REAL LIFE or worse a “martial art” that is useless and results in me receiving a prime butt kicking when trying to apply it?”

Getting into a fight having trained to fight, albeit a little, will still give you a better outcome having gotten into a fight with no training. And I would much rather spend money training and never get into a fight as well. Look, it’s really simple when it comes to martial arts and that is, if you’re learning a martial art and you’re getting your backside beaten in fights, you’re clearly wasting your time doing that martial art as you’re learning nothing. More so, you’re wasting your time doing any martial art, because as stated it’s NOT the martial art that gives you your capability but your ability to learn and imply that martial art in your defence.

I don’t get in fights. I’m glad I don’t get in fights. I know I’m more than capable of beating my opponent and I also know it’s incredibly easy to kill or seriously injure someone in a fight. I also don’t want to be in the position of, especially here in the UK, defending myself against attack in a clear self defence situation, to be given a custodial sentence because I used ‘excessive’ force. More so, when the court finds out that I am a martial artist, then it’s even worse.

A true practitioner of martial arts avoids trouble. They accept and respect the philosophy that it’s used as a last defence to protect oneself. I rarely, if at all meat arrogant traditional martial art practitioners. Heck, when I do the last thing they like telling people is they actually do, do martial arts. Why? Because there are people out there who’ll say stupid things like “so you’re a hard man then” and attempt to prove themselves, there and then in a combat situation.

The scenes at the Discotech and the police station (‘I’ll be back!) are eerily remindful of the mass shootings of today.

The plot of the artificially intelligent machines making war upon man has it obvious parallels with the Matrix, and even broadly with Hal in Kubrick’s 2001.

In each of these movies mankind is shown almost being bested by AI guided machines and experiencing grievous if not catastrophic harm at their hands. And those are simply movies. The reality is, AI combined machines without the strictest of controls in place, could possibly overcome man, or be used by a portion of man against the rest as an unbeatable weapon.

Yet even with warnings from a very learned person such as Hawking about the disastrous potential outcome of AI married to machines, we’ve got those who continue to push for that with seeming abandon and little regard for the dangers.

All in all, the movie was a lot better entertainment wise than many of today’s modern flicks.

So you meet one man, a fool, clearly not a martial artist and you tar everyone with the same brush? It never hit a nerve. All I’ve done is tried to change your view on what you believe martial arts and artists to be. Most people involved in martial arts, whether eastern or western will rarely go around stating they do martial arts. They may once, but they won’t go on about it. This idiot had something to prove to others whereas martial artists have nothing to prove as they’ve already proved to themselves they’re capable. It those who have something to prove that are constantly seeking recognition – MMA is a classic example, along with boxing. I have, in the past, spoken about martial arts, while in company, only because I was asked to. Should I get into a conversation about martial arts, it will be with a likewise practitioner and the conversation will stop, should a non martial artists join. We really do not like to brag about martial arts, that is most ‘real’ martial artists out there. The overwhelming majority do martial arts to keep fit, with the bonus of also being able to defend yourself in a fight confrontation.

And finally, you clearly do not realise the law. A boxer/martial artist’s limbs are viewed as deadly weapons in a court of law. You could look at a heftier sentence because of it. I never wrote what I did to brag, whatsoever. It is, however, somewhat ironic that the reason people do martial arts is to defend themselves from trouble and to quickly end a fight situation and yet the courts will clamp down and punish martial artists should they do so.

They push that crap because they don’t want other women to have what they didn’t. They want other women to cry themselves to sleep at night and be miserable, because that is the nature of women. Women are women’s worst enemies. Nothing the so called “patriarchy” could ever do to me, would be half as bad as what the so called “sisterhood” does to its sisters. Well, yes. I’m presuming you’re female?
    As I stated above:

“I watched Gavin McInnes (I know he’s an arse) but on what he speaks about feminism he is bang on. He stated that he knew a woman, an editor of an uber feminist magazine, that pushed careers for women and avoiding family, but told him that she’d cry herself to sleep at night, in her 40’s, no offspring, unable to reproduce and single. He laughed at her, stating “why the hell are you pushing this crap on women when you clearly see what this has done to you?””

Most women are jealous harpies. They’ll go out and they’ll seethe inside, with resentment, when they see pretty, young girls getting all the attention from men. They know that they can’t compete with them and I’ve seen plenty of fights, happen because of this. And of course, this changes the very behaviour patterns of older women. Whereas in the past, they grew older with dignity, careful how they dressed, their makeup, the length of their skirts, how much cleavage was shown etc. because lots of older women have embraced feminism, they’re single, have no children, go out mimicking the fit young teens and early to late twenty women, wearing skimpy clothes with high skirt hems and low cleavage, COPY the young girls with tattoos and are the mutton dressed as lamb. They fight for attention of the younger (and older males) but fail to see that they see them only as a masturbatory device, whereas the younger ones they chase for procreation, families and a relationship with. And the older the women get, the bitter at seeing this. They’ve passed their sell by date. They have no sexual market value, even in their late 30’s. The men aren’t interested in them, only for sex and nothing more, not even a relationship. It’s a quick f*ck on a Friday night and a ghosting from then on.
The patriarchy is a future for women and families.
The sisterhood is their doom. And women are waking up to realise this, thankfully. Heck, even women don’t really like associating with other women.

I am not dissing the martial arts and saying that all people who participate in them are aholes, but they certainly have enough of them.

Did all sorts of martial arts and thought of myself as as a guy that was pretty much capable of defending himself. In most situations it worked, until I started to train with 2 Russian guys in Thailand.

I did have the advantage of being taller, heavier and with a larger reach. Needless to say, I was sent flying all over the place. No matter what I tried [or how I tried it], I never managed to take either of them down [or get a proper grip on them]. It looked like they knew what I was going to do, way before I did myself. I was always running behind the facts. But they never mocked me or ridiculed me. They praised me for not giving up. When I asked them how they did it, they smiled vaguely an said, “You yanks watch to much movies and TV. There’s always this single move, this single shot that saves the day. In real life there’s no such thing. ”

They introduced me to the Russian Система [Systema] – Link to youtube. This should give you some idea. It simply is the best form of martial art I’ve ever encountered.

Re female “superheroes”, action characters and other such/similar nonsense (male “superheroes” are slightly less nonsensical), note the following result: the avg 80 y/o male has more grip strength than the avg female of any age — and it is not even close.

  147. You guys are buying into the same dubious notion as the “critical theorists” and grievance studies drones who say that popular culture is very important and influential and needs to be controlled by “us.” Let’s say that it’s true and is playing out in a zero sum culture war between the proponents of an engineered post-white, post-conservative United States and the defenders of a white majority nation imbued with traditional conservative values.

In that case isn’t stuffing movies and other cultural productions with minorities and homosexuals, while flying the banner of “tolerance and diversity” at every turn, exactly what you’d expect them to do?

Reacting with shocked incredulity every time this strategy reveals itself is an expression of impotent rage at an opponent who is beating you…and as a political tactic it’s about as effective as yelling at your TV. It’s basically a masochistic performance art of the powerless that invites members of your ideological tribe to collectively bond over shared outrage at a common enemy. SJWs and other groups have their own versions of this and it’s very similar in practice to deliberately feeding a troll and then being shocked when the troll behaves like…a troll. Ya really can’t say you didn’t see it coming.

The internet is many things….including an illusion machine. It can put people into a trance so that passively sitting around and obsessively cataloguing an ideological opponent’s hypocrisy or propaganda output (or whatever) – and being freshly outraged each and every time – doesn’t seem like an unproductive waste of time and energy….but is anything useful actually being accomplished?

Many Americans, city folk in particular, already spend every free moment “engaging” with the internet. It has literally taken over their lives. And the Googles and Facebooks of the world are constantly inserting themselves deeper and deeper into our lives in an effort to collect more personal data…and to exert ever more control over us. Most people aren’t even aware this is happening or how much they’ve altered their lives to conform to the binary logic of the gadgetry they interact with all day.

A year long nationwide internet and TV blackout would be interesting to experience. I wonder which parts of the country would thrive and which parts would go insane? But I digress.

I actually have respect for Thai boxers. Those guys are supremely conditioned fighters. Hell, I even adopted their routine of bouncing on car tires to develop my calves and improve footwork and stamina as part of my routine. I don’t want to hijack this thread discussing fitness and/or martial arts, but it looks like so many allegedly pro-Whites are still paying to watch this crap, so why respect the subject even though it is a meaningful one. No disrespect to martial arts participants, I am sure that all aren’t like the douchebags that I have come across in the gym, the work place, or social meda. I started boxing long ago, I was inspired by the 1976 Olympics and of course the ORIGINAL “Rocky” movie that year. Looking back at the classic, “Rocky,” you can really see the difference between “REEL” and “REAL.” My gawd, Stallone is throwing uppercuts from the floor. hahaha. Of course as one might expect, I am too old to worry about throwing hands with anyone at this stage of my life so I don’t train for any sort of self defense scenario. hahaha. The one martial art that I have really changed my mind about over the years is wrestling. The wrestlers that participated in MMA have shown everyone out there that their art is a force to reckoned with in a REAL LIFE encounter. Never had much respect for wrestling growing up, but I have found out that they are the best conditioned athletes in the world and some of the most mentally tough warriors out there. I will check out the info you provided and keep on keeping on with your training, sir.

    I like the movie

    “Rocky ”

a quintissential all american tail about an underdog, and class struggle, and the real social environment of lots of inner city white neighorhoods.

And by the comments its clear that many of you mentioning the film missed the point. Even the making of the film is the story of the US and the struggle against established power and money. And that production process was all about white to white. And it took 43 years for the film to evolve to what might arguably the true dominant composition of top tier professional boxing —

whining about Creed seems a tad hinged on fantasy

    “Rocky”

remains one the best films about the sport or perhaps sports in general.

Jake LaMotta, who was half Jewish by the way, was a complete POS. The guy nearly beat an old man to death with a pipe while growing up and was a serial woman beater. Of course the film was truthful about Jake slapping women around. The film also makes it seem as though Jake was a banger, truth be told Jake wasn’t much of a puncher and he had a low knockout percentage. He was a volume puncher, a swarmer, who wore down his opponents with his stamina and concrete chin. LaMotta was admittedly a great fighter, but he was a complete POS as a human being IMO. I have a friend who met him at an event held at the IFHOF and he said the guy was a total prick. He told me that the Spinks brothers, Marvin Hagler and Mike Weaver were really down to earth and likeable guys though. I do remember watching “Rocky” when it first came out in the theaters. The only movie that I ever attended where people were cheering during the fight scene and cheered after the movie. The original is the only Rocky movie that I found entertaining. Classic.

Yes, I concur. I referenced the earlier Alien films because they depicted masculinity. I’m well aware that there was a strong feminist lead — but it was still much more subtle than found in today’s Hollywood.

Perhaps the Negroids in these films were the “token” black actors as this phenomenon appeared to be a common trend for quite sometime. Unfortunately, even right-wing directors such as Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson included token black actors into their films. Eastwood chose a Negroid as one of the main characters in Unforgiven and Gibson portrayed a token black as a heroic slave who joined the Rebel Army to fight for his freedom in The Patriot.

It was more subtle for different reasons. For one thing, being new and subversive, it had to be. And back then there were still directors and studios who cared for quality, so if they forced a black actor you could do it with proper care.

What has happened since the 80s is that not only has the Marxist agenda grown to a proper monster, but the entire movie industry has been bought out by high finance. Before the age of special effects you needed artistic skill to sell a movie, hence there was always a need for real talent. Now the money is made in the special effects and marketing department, while the scripts are written by Soviet style commissars. No need for artists or even good actors anymore.

I was watching a Clint Eastwood movie the other day with a friend (Space Cowboys), and we both noticed that there were hardly any colored actors or Jews in the movie. ‘Absolute Power’ is the same. It made me think why Clint has had almost all of his career “outside Hollywood”. Either he made the movies himself (and mostly hiring whites and no Jews), or it was with foreign directors like Sergio Leone. My guess is he noticed quite early what Hollywood was about and did not want to be part of it. Perhaps the only actor who has risen to greatness without aid from the Hollywood system.

I completely agree with this is, along with working outside of Hollywood, is why Clint Eastwood did so well — especially throughout his collaboration with Sergio Leone in Spaghetti Westerns. Eastwood’s path was chosen largely due to his brilliance in recognizing the pitfalls of Hollywood. I suppose that the same could be said for Mel Gibson as he’s been a vocal opponent of the Jewish influence within the industry, especially in terms of their high finance accountabilities and agenda-driven narratives.

There’s no doubt about that, hence you never see them reading anything of substance. If you’re lucky enough to catch one reading, it will be something superficial, such as Sports Illustrated or ESPN Magazine — which are well-suited for their inferior IQ of 80.

Piss on Hollywood. I refuse to give one dime to those Jewish bastards. If people stop going to movies, stop buying Netflicks subs and stop buying blu-rays Hollywood will dry up on the vine. Cut your cable too. Put up an antenna and watch all the free stuff you want. Oh, but there is a new movie coming out that you just have to watch? Give it a few weeks or at most a few months. It will be on pirate bay.

haha. GREAT REBUTTAL. Practically anyone can kill another person in a fight. The human skull and body for that matter is pretty fragile. I read of a case where two young girls got into a fist fight over a boy and one of the girls went home afterwards and collapsed. She died later from injuries sustained in the fight. These were two girls that weighed less than a 100lbs. Interestingly, as far as boxing is concerned, often “light punchers” like Emile Griffith wound up killing a man in the ring while tremendous punchers like Jack Dempsey, Mike Tyson or George Foreman escaped without killing anyone. In boxing it is a given for the most part that punchers are born and not made, so I don’t care if you train night and day, you are not going to increase your punching power by that much. I fear anyone’s fist, and I think that most of these karate and judo masters have never been in an actual fight in their life. ANYONE who is 100% healthy and with proper motivation can be dangerous in a fight.

Hey Paulie, when the next Terminator Movie comes out you can say the same thing. Don’t worry, I know Hollywood will shove another one down our throats, complete with Woke Peoples too.

Never had much respect for wrestling growing up, but I have found out that they are the best conditioned athletes in the world and some of the most mentally tough warriors out there.

    This is true.

The wrestlers that participated in MMA have shown everyone out there that their art is a force to reckoned with in a REAL LIFE encounter.

Uh, there are tons of people better-informed than I who will tell that going to the ground on the street is a really, really BAD idea.

  202. @Trinity

ANYONE who is 100% healthy and with proper motivation can be dangerous in a fight.

    Correct.

The best solution to a potential fight is to flee the area as quickly as possible.

If you cannot do that, or if you attempt to do that and are cornered in a dead end, the next best thing is to have a weapon in hand and pray your opponent does not.

  203. @SteveRogers42

Absolutely. Yuuuge legal difference between a fight (mutually agreed-upon combat) and self-defense.

People (and the media) tend to conflate the two, but they are separate entities.

Likewise. I haven’t spent money to watch a movie at the theater in over five years. Furthermore, I haven’t watched any Hollywood production during the aforementioned time period. If I decide to watch a movie, it’s either an older one or a foreign/independently produced film. I completely agree about cutting your cable, too. Don’t only cut your cable, but pitch your TV as well. TV is inherently toxic, unhealthy, indoctrinating, counterproductive, and a form of propaganda. Networks, especially MSM, tell you what to think. There’s no real reporting or investigative journalism. It’s not hard to get rid of your TV as I’ve been without one for over 10 years — and it’s not missed at all.

The fact is, the first two Terminator films, and even the third, were too white.

There’s a good public review on IMDb of the new “Charlies Angels”

    Go Woke Go Broke

The box office is a reflection of how these SJW/PC films just can’t reach an audience. Don’t try to force these ideas down people. I grew up with strong female roles and never had an issue about it. Because those movies never emphasized that it HAD to be a woman. It just was. Now they make movies and cast them BASED on gender and race.

There have been a lot of super intelligent and insightful comments at Unz Review, but this one is the only one that, to me, is perfectly inspirational. I hope you don’t mind that I printed this out, and will see this daily from this day forward.

I can’t imagine there is any part of the world, except for the most Satanic or destructive forces where such a basic and life affirming principle would not be celebrated.

    Thank you for that.

    If they get lucky, yes.

Once a person knows what and where to hit [and why] said person becomes [even] more dangerous.

Nobody can actually train for the difference between shadow boxing and a real fight. That’s to be found out, once it happens.

  209. @Miro23

I grew up with strong female roles and never had an issue about it.

My mom ran her own private school, but always remained my mom. She never competed with my dad [or vice versa]. There was a true and natural balance.

    Thank you for that.

    Thank you. I’m humbled.

When I trained taekwondo in South Korea, it turned into full contact ‘whack-a-mole’ game play. This was to ‘teach’ me I was [and always will be] a foreigner dabbing into something that wasn’t [supposedly to be] mine…

Onward to North Korea and [much to my surprise] the experience turned inward, as to why and why not fight/defend yourself. A truly ‘spiritual’ angle. No more black and blue days.

That’s how I grow, by acting, learning and understanding [at least try to. Occasionally, I do fail spectacularly as well :o]

And exactly when did “Rocky Balboa” become a negro, which is what he was scoffing at in the first place?

  214. Well, given the amount politically correct BS flooding from Hollywood in all recent years, I’m surprised that the bad guy in this movie has hispanic features. Their thought police probably was asleep – otherwise the bad guy would’ve been white as a fresh snow.

    No, but had forgotten it.

To me, the young man who plays a wise semi-retarted character was the worst. His appearance was where I started thinking ‘walk out’, ‘walk out.’

IIRC, the same gormless and chinless actor was in at least one of the atrocious Matrix sequels.

I may be wrong there, but he strongly resembles a character in at least one of the stupid sequels.

The only Matrix sequels worth viewing are the Japanese and Korean-American parts of the Animatrix.

    Very good work.

TIII had a unique combimation of (minimal) CG, matte painting, practical effects (as effects people use the term), real action shots, set design, and (most notably to the original spaghetti western Django), tributes. Perhaps the like will never be seen again.

Everybody should understand that the plot of The Matrix (original) was a wholesale copy of that of Dark City, for those who have not seen the latter, I strongly recommend it.

Oddly enough I have an almost irrelevant question about the movie: Did John Connor know that Reese was his father when he sent him back in time or was that just a happy coincidence???

A good chunk of the way bodybuilders look has to do with flexing and strategic posing. Here’s the same guy at the same time in two separate pictures:

Flexing for a photo makes muscles more defined. “Your abs are not going to be visible unless you flex,” he says in the video.
