On the eve of the Democratic National Convention, WikiLeaks — the courageous international organization dedicated to governmental transparency — exposed hundreds of internal emails circulated among senior staff of the Democratic National Committee during the past 18 months.

At a time when Democratic Party officials were publicly professing neutrality during the party’s presidential primaries, the DNC’s internal emails showed a pattern of distinct bias toward the candidacy of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and a marked prejudice toward the candidacy of Sen. Bernie Sanders. Some of the emails were raw in their tone, and some could fairly be characterized as failing to respect Sanders’ Jewish heritage.

The revelation caused a public uproar during the weekend preceding the opening of the Democratic convention in Philadelphia last week, and it caused the DNC to ask its own chairwoman, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, to resign. When she declined to do so, President Barack Obama personally intervened and implored her to leave. She submitted to the president’s wishes, gave up her public role as chair of the convention and eventually resigned as chair of the DNC late last week.

In order to take everyone’s eyes off this intrusive and uncomfortable bouncing ball, the leadership of the DNC, in conjunction with officials of the Clinton campaign, blamed the release of the DNC emails on hackers employed by Russian intelligence agents. Many in the media picked up this juicy story and repeated it all last week.

Clinton promptly named Wasserman Schultz as a campaign consultant and complained that the Russians are trying to influence the presidential election. She did not complain about the unfairness manifested in the emails, complete with their religious prejudice; she only complained about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s helping Donald Trump.

But the Russians had nothing to do with it.

Last week, William Binney, a 30-year career official at the National Security Agency turned whistleblower, revealed the unthinkable. Binney, who devised the software that the NSA has used to capture the contents of emails and cellphone conversations of all in America but resigned from the NSA because of the unlawful and unconstitutional manner in which the software was used, told a Philadelphia radio audience that the DNC hacking was most likely done by NSA agents.

Why would the NSA hack into DNC computers, and why would the NSA leak what its agents saw?

Here is where the deep state meets the political world. The deep state consists of intelligence, military, law enforcement and administrative agency personnel who aggressively protect their own interests, which transcend elections. Stated differently, many of these folks remain in opaque positions of power, and the governmental departments and agencies for which they work continue to expand, no matter which party wins the White House or controls Congress.

The deep state stays in power by a variety of means, some of which are lawful and not the least of which was visited upon the DNC last week. Binney knows the inside workings of NSA computers because he designed them. He knows how easy it would have been for any of the NSA’s 60,000 agents, many of whom have great antipathy toward Clinton, to employ their skills to frustrate her drive toward the presidency.

The intelligence community’s antipathy toward Clinton has two general sources. One is her misuse of emails containing state secrets. Among the top-secret emails that the FBI discovered on Clinton’s non-secure private servers were some that revealed the names of U.S. intelligence agents operating undercover in the Middle East. Because Clinton emailed secrets to others who the FBI found were hacked by hostile foreign intelligence services and because she used a non-secure mobile email device while inside the territories of hostile governments, her “extremely careless” use of her emails resulted in the termination of the undercover work of those whose cover she caused to be revealed. Many in the intelligence community also suspect that in some cases, U.S. undercover agents lost their lives because Clinton failed to keep their identities secret.

The other source of intelligence community antipathy to Clinton stems from her secret war waged against the late Libyan strongman, Col. Moammar Gadhafi. When she waged that war — using intelligence, not military, personnel — with the approval of the president and a dozen members of Congress, she exercised her authority as secretary of state to grant exemptions to a U.N. arms embargo of Libya. She wanted Libyan militias to have heavy-duty, military-grade arms with which to topple the Libyan government.

But the CIA and others warned her that she was arming terrorist groups, which was potentially lethal for some American intelligence personnel and which is a felony under federal law. One of those groups may have used Clinton-authorized, embargo-free weapons to assassinate Christopher Stevens, the U.S. ambassador to Libya, at Benghazi. Clinton disregarded the CIA’s advice and didn’t worry about anyone’s finding out about it because she thought her emails would remain secret.

Binney’s conclusion that the NSA and not the Russians hacked the DNC is further supported by official White House silence. Last year, when Chinese intelligence agents hacked U.S. government computers and accessed personnel records of millions of federal government employees, the White House lodged long and loud protests with Beijing. This time, there have been no such protests to the Kremlin.

What does all this tell us?

It tells us that Hillary Clinton continues to be the queen of deception. It tells us that some of those in whose hands we repose our freedom for safekeeping do not wish to see her in the White House because of her demonstrated lawlessness and indifference to their work. And it recalls to our attention the danger and power of the deep state and its willingness to break the laws it has sworn to uphold.

After that revolution which will not be televised, Andrew Napolitano hopefully will establish a private arbitration firm in the first true libertopia, with "Boundaries of Order: Private Property as a Social System" (as another anarchist law teacher, Butler Shaffer, has titled a book). Both men are among the least venal ever to walk this earth, speaking truth to power. The Judge is certainly on the Clintons' "Arkancide" hit-list.

  2. I posted last Saturday (July 30) on Eric Margolis’ blog a link to an article about DNI James Clapper who was raising some doubt about whether the Russians were responsible for the DNC hack. http://www.unz.com/emargolis/americas-longest-war-gets-longer/#comment-1512167

    I posted the following:
“Just speculation on my part, but I think its certain that the one party who has those missing emails is the NSA. That means that Clapper knows what’s in those emails. Since it is reasonable to suspect that Russia or some other foreign player likely hacked Hillary’s private server and has the missing emails, there is a good chance they will be released before the election. ”
I wasn’t aware of the Binney revelation until I read your blog, but I think I gave Mr. Clapper too much of the benefit of the doubt. If what Binney says is true, then Clapper should have come out and stated, without any qualifications, that the Russians were not responsible, instead of leaving the question up in the air. (I should note that the jurisdiction of the DNI over the NSA is somewhat ambiguous. I was surprised to learn that the NSA remains under the jurisdiction of the Defense Department. According to Wikipedia: “Critics say compromises during the bill’s crafting led to the establishment of a DNI whose powers are too weak to adequately lead, manage and improve the performance of the US Intelligence Community.[6] In particular, the law left the United States Department of Defense in charge of the National Security Agency (NSA), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). (The limited DNI role in leading the U.S. Intelligence Community is discussed on the Intelligence Community page.)”)

BTW I just did a search of the NY Times, the so-called “newspaper of record,” for “binney + DNC hack” and got no results. But the Times did run an AP story datelined July 28 on Friday, July 29, which they used as an attack on Trump for his Russian ties. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/07/28/us/politics/ap-us-campaign-2016-emails-russia-qa.html I guess the “Russian angle,” which all the MSM appeared to swallow hook, line and sinker, is just too good a theme to use against Trump to abandon it when facts get in the way. I gather from the first article on the Binney revelation in Breitbart dated July 31 (Sunday) based on a radio interview that day that Clapper spoke before that revelation was made. http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2016/07/31/exclusive-nsa-architect-agency-clintons-deleted-emails/

BTW, if Binney’s account is true (and I have no reason to doubt it), there could be some good news on the horizon. It seems, based on statements made by Julian Assange, that WikiLeaks has additional leaked material in its possession, which will be released in due course. Earlier, I was just assuming that the Russians may have been one of the parties responsible for hacking Hillary’s private email server in Chappaqua and that they might release those “missing” emails depending on the polls. Now that we seem to know that the NSA was behind the DNC hack and leak, I believe it is safe to assume that the NSA also hacked Hillary’s private server and those missing emails are probably in Wikileaks’ possession right now, waiting to be released.

  3. laws? we don’t need no stinkin’ laws! we established a two-tier justice system for a reason. the constitution – the bill of rights – limits our power. we don’t recognize the constitution. we make secret laws. the proles must be kept ignorant. we operate in darkness. we shun the light. if they – the masses – know what we do, they might object. if proles know their fate, they might rebel. but, no worries. we’re establishing a police state. we abolish freedoms as necessary. we allow the military and the cia to kidnap or murder americans if we get too uppity. we can be rendered to black sites if we step out of line. we can imprison anybody indefinitely, without due process. we attack the ‘other’ for now; but soon it will be all.

consider this: the u.s. government has nothing but contempt for, we, the people. we are the useful idiots that stalin spoke of. we participate in a sham democracy by voting for the duopoly. both parties are champions of the status quo. after 30-40 years of neoliberal policies, the richest country in the world funnels all the economic gains to the top. a person can work a fifty hour week for minimum wage and not be able to afford a half-decent apartment. we once had the highest standard-of-living in the world. look at us now. we once had the greatest rate of social mobility. now canada has three times that of the u.s.
there are no saviors – there never will be. unless we reject our ‘useful idiot’ status, down is the only direction available to the great majority of americans.

The two major parties enjoy a complete monopoly on political power. They intend to keep it that way.

Worse still, Washington’s continuous aggression (on behalf of Israel) towards Syria, Iraq, Iran, Palestine and Libya not only undermines world order, but flies in the face of the rule of law. Corruption has become endemic in Official Washington. “The whole system is rigged”, Trump correctly notes.

But please skip the part about poor Bernie being targeted in some fashion because he’s Jewish. Ridiculous. Jews virtually own Washington. Ditto on Wall St. and Hollywood

In fact, if Sanders wasn’t Jewish, he would never have gotten as far as he did.

Sanders’ Jewishness is actually a shield and entry permit. Being Jewish protected Sanders from the shit and abuse that would have been hurled his way if he was a mere gentile exercising his theoretical right to criticize Wall Street, our mass media, and the Zionist entity’s special relationship with the American taxpayer.

Had Sanders not been Jewish, he would have been branded a ‘virulent anti-Semite’ and ruined long before he even left Vermont. This is how Zio-America operates.

Pointed criticism of Israel–in the few public arenas where it is permitted at all–is reserved for establishment Jews. And Bernie is definitely an establishment Jew.

It’s left wing American Jews like Bernie who set up and monitor the boundaries of anti-Zionist discourse in America. Bernie was simply doing his kosher duty. Other ‘radical’ Jews who play this anointed role include Noam Chomsky, Norman Finkelstein, Amy Goodman, and Howard Zinn. It’s modern Jewish theater.

But these Zions of Good Conscience actually serve to legitimize and solidify Zionist hegemony in American life since gentiles are excluded from this role altogether. The unique status and ‘high moral standing’ of these special Jews actually allows Israel and World Jewry to forever float above the cesspool of Washington.

Meanwhile, unseen Zionist operatives orchestrate wars and impose international mayhem as needed.

Before the empire crumbles further, it’s time to find a way a way to prosecute and dismember both the Democrat and Republican parties under the RICO act, as they are both criminal enterprises.

The Party bosses should be rounded up, along with their top financial enablers. It’s time for a purge. Once the leaders are safely behind bars, Israel should be declared an enemy of the American people and world order. Let justice be done.

The ruthless working to prevent the rise of viable third parties that you assert can be questioned with test comparisons.

Australia, for example, has had many small parties start up and die leaving the Liberal National (was Country) Party Coalition - essentially one conservative party - slugging it out with Labor. For the first time the Greens may be established as a permanent split off of middle class Labor voters and the far Left though they are little represented in the houses with single member electorates. None of the failures require any ganging up by Big Money or the MSM to explain them. Actually third parties can get a pretty fair chance to succeed with public funding for campaign expenses (though I oversimplify) and compulsory voting ie. Attendance to vote.

Essentially major parties do the obvious defensive manoeuvring and ensure that they appeal to the disaffected, whether left, right or centre that the third party has targeted. The old Catholic anti-Communist Democratic Labor Party whose preferences in our preferential voting system helped keep their old mates in the Labor Party out of office for 20 years died a natural death but the Greens may be a longer lasting splinter from Labor because they are on the left rather than right and tend to be prosperous middle class inner urban people on the public payroll.

Unless you assert a dogma I suspect you raise an interesting (and very complex) question rather than state an evident truth. Consider: what would be the major changes needed to make establishment of a viable third party most likely?

Curiously it is your post which has made me toy with the idea of comparing the high IQ highly educated rich community of Jews with the traditional private school educated intermarrying WASP upperclass of yesteryear in the UK and US.

Disraeli's and Sam Untermayer's use of the word "aristocrats/aristocracy" put me in mind of that.

Again test cases can be conceived. In a country like Australia where the Jewish population is relatively smaller than in the US the typical large representation of Jews on, for example, public gallery fundraising charities is nothing like New York and doesn't mean that 4 or 5 out of 6 presidents won't be Gentiles. In short they fit in. It is also natural of course in a relatively young country with only small elements of an old educated WASP upper class, now probably unknown to the average young journalist aside from urban myths.

    , @Wizard of Oz
I should add just as one more of many relevant points about the viability of third parties that the combination of first past the post non compulsory voting, a vast diverse country and a presidential rather than parliamentary system must make it institutionally hard to get a third party up to viability. But your objection to the incumbency of the two parties that they rig it in favour of their criminal conspiracy is surely hard to sustain in the light of Trump's overthrow of the Republican establishment and the earlier eruption of the Tea Party while the Democrats' coalition of minorities has been a fast fluctuating playing field. I concede that the anger and disdain now prevalent in Congresss is consistent with the hatreds of two organised crime gangs but only as a rather fanciful comparison.
  6. A lot of this is contingency narrative preparation in the case that WL blows-up Hillary (and perhaps the whole Administration), I think. The Hillary camp of Neoliberals and Neocons want to unseat Putin and/or war with Russia; and in a desperate last-ditch effort they may try to agitate a conflict by blaming Putin for what transpires, arguing that interfering in elections or espionage or trying to topple the government– or whatever it is they will howl incessantly–is effectively a declaration of war.

I don’t know. Binney simply could be engaged in the anti-globalist narrative battle. It could be Russia. And if it is I don’t care. A Hillary Presidency means the end of the United States. The Media and the Establishment and the Not-At-All Deep State– i.e., the President, the Attorney General, the head of the FBI, etc.– are all colluding and beyond corrupt: they are actively working to destroy the country.

Just watched the movie “13 Hours – The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi”. I usually avoid 2 1/2 hour movies, but this one was superb and should have gotten more recognition. It was apolitical and only hinted that there was no rescue or support even though southern Europe was full of NATO and US bases and assets. But it was obvious that something stank, and the lack of response had to be a deliberate decision by somebody.

This must be a tough time for the Deep State, balancing the fear that a President Trump wants to change the status quo versus the need to revenge the abandonment of military and CIA personnel by Obama and Hillary. I think revenge is the reason we are seeing these emails, and the most damaging ones are yet to come.

It appears to me that there must be more to the opposition to Clinton by parts of the NSA than just her recent carelessness regarding e-mails. I’m just guessing, of course, but it just seems to me that they probably know much more about her than the average person and that some people within NSA have determined her to be unfit for office in view of her long and shabby history going all the way back to the outset of her career.

I would point out that Hillary graduated from Yale Law in 1973 and went to work for Marion Wright Edelman in Massachusetts, but in 1974 she went to work for the House Judiciary Committee working on the impeachment of Richard Nixon. She was fired by the Committee for improperly sharing secret materials with unauthorized persons, something I didn't find out until years later, it was so effectively hushed up. That was an early sign that she could not be trusted and would work to bend the rules. How that plays into the NSA staffer's unhappiness with Hillary is completely unknown to me. (A former girlfriend of mine worked as a secretary for the committee, specifically assigned to the impeachment effort, and she used to rave about one Hillary Rodham, but I never had occasion to meet her.)
  12. NSA is known for sharing intelligence data with Mossad before it’s received by CIA or FBI.

Jewish investigative journalist, Glenn Greenwald reported on July 9, 2014 that 202 Muslim Americans including five prominent Muslim-Americans whose e-mails were monitored by the FBI and NSA for years for possible anti-Israel activities.

Greenwald’s report published on the Intercept news website said that the surveillance of Muslims was authorized by a secret intelligence court under procedure intended to locate spies and terrorist suspects. One wonders, why the tens of thousands of American Zionist Jews, who are openly involved in spying and campaigning for the interests of a foreign entity, which are mostly against the interests of the United States, are not monitored by the FBI or NSA?

You're right, rehmat, the Jewish element in this country is as dangerous and disloyal as the Muslim element, though in somewhat different ways.

Both groups should be permanently expelled and surrender their US citizenship and passports, preferably by peaceful voluntary means such as a financial incentive. If necessary, the law can provide for stronger defensive measures in that regard.
    , @sarz
Rehmat, it is precisely this fear that has got the mega-Jews shitting bricks. The first two comments by Trump that gave me a start were that Bergdahl should be executed for treason and that in his administration it would be back to saying Merry Christmas rather than Happy Holidays. When he followed that up with talk of monitoring mosques there was indeed suspicion by Jews that he really meant them. Maybe he did and does, despite his Jewish connections and sympathies. I mean, Alfred Lillienthal was a Jew and he believed in putting America first. It is possible, hard though it is to find incontestable examples. (Sad to say, Unz himself does not quite make the grade.) Maybe Ivanka and Jared are patriotic Americans. And Trump, too. Who knows? If they are, right now they all have a different game to play, within the confines set by the Masters of Discourse. Trump has now 'endorsed' McCain and Ryan. He has to go for Republican unity first. Then, who knows if a Trump administration will or will not continue to hide Jewish responsibility for 9/11. If Trump allows the truth to come out, as he has once stated he would, that will be the end of the new world order for a long time. America might then even succeed in de-Talmudizing Jewishness -- and de-Wahhabizing Muslim ideology. That might happen. Or, for all we know, Trump may turn out to be an incurably Judaic turd. Enough people will have to vote for him to neutralize the rigged polling in order for us to find out.

You’re right, rehmat, the Jewish element in this country is as dangerous and disloyal as the Muslim element, though in somewhat different ways.

Both groups should be permanently expelled and surrender their US citizenship and passports, preferably by peaceful voluntary means such as a financial incentive. If necessary, the law can provide for stronger defensive measures in that regard.

  14. Interesting motive. If true, this means that certain elements of our invisible government consider Trump a more reliable partner than Hillary. Very plausible, as Hillary brings a lot of death and destruction with her, and this draws the invisibles out of the shadows they like to quietly hide in to further their power. Trump may sound nuts at times, but he’s not. Whereas Hillary clearly is nuts, to the point of being dangerous to the invisibles.

It tells me that I continue to be correct when referring to the entire federal government as the “federal mafia”, which includes the “deep state”. The government and its thugs employees breaks the laws with impunity while citizens are subject to its abuses and predations. It needs to be reformed and reduced or ended one way or another.

I posted last Saturday (July 30) on Eric Margolis' blog a link to an article about DNI James Clapper who was raising some doubt about whether the Russians were responsible for the DNC hack. http://www.unz.com/emargolis/americas-longest-war-gets-longer/#comment-1512167

    I posted the following:
"Just speculation on my part, but I think its certain that the one party who has those missing emails is the NSA. That means that Clapper knows what’s in those emails. Since it is reasonable to suspect that Russia or some other foreign player likely hacked Hillary’s private server and has the missing emails, there is a good chance they will be released before the election. "
I wasn't aware of the Binney revelation until I read your blog, but I think I gave Mr. According to Wikipedia: "Critics say compromises during the bill's crafting led to the establishment of a DNI whose powers are too weak to adequately lead, manage and improve the performance of the US Intelligence Community.[6] In particular, the law left the United States Department of Defense in charge of the National Security Agency (NSA), the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). (The limited DNI role in leading the U.S. Intelligence Community is discussed on the Intelligence Community page.)")

BTW I just did a search of the NY Times, the so-called "newspaper of record," for "binney + DNC hack" and got no results. But the Times did run an AP story datelined July 28 on Friday, July 29, which they used as an attack on Trump for his Russian ties. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2016/07/28/us/politics/ap-us-campaign-2016-emails-russia-qa.html I guess the "Russian angle," which all the MSM appeared to swallow hook, line and sinker, is just too good a theme to use against Trump to abandon it when facts get in the way. I gather from the first article on the Binney revelation in Breitbart dated July 31 (Sunday) based on a radio interview that day that Clapper spoke before that revelation was made. http://www.breitbart.com/jerusalem/2016/07/31/exclusive-nsa-architect-agency-clintons-deleted-emails/

BTW, if Binney's account is true (and I have no reason to doubt it), there could be some good news on the horizon. It seems, based on statements made by Julian Assange, that WikiLeaks has additional leaked material in its possession, which will be released in due course. Earlier, I was just assuming that the Russians may have been one of the parties responsible for hacking Hillary's private email server in Chappaqua and that they might release those "missing" emails depending on the polls. Now that we seem to know that the NSA was behind the DNC hack and leak, I believe it is safe to assume that the NSA also hacked Hillary's private server and those missing emails are probably in Wikileaks' possession right now, waiting to be released.

Well, you have to realize that these secretive organizations need real people to do the work, so the knowledge of the secrets can be pretty widespread. Loyalty and fear of possible reprisals tend to keep most of the employees in line, but then you have your occasional Edward Snowden.

Back in the summer of 1969, I started dating a slightly younger woman who had started working for the FBI when she first came to Washington, D.C. after graduating from high school in rural southwest Virginia. Even though she did not go to college, she was well read and sharp as a tack, not to mention a secretary of excellent skills. One day that summer, as we were lying in bed relaxing, she started telling me about how she had worked for a high-ranking official at the FBI composing phony, incriminating letters which were being sent out with the signatures of such luminaries as Martin Luther King pursuant to a program known as Cointelpro. I was astounded to hear her tale, and, even though I had little or no knowledge about the law, I thought the program was either illegal or certainly improper. I suggested that we take the story to the prominent muckraking journalist of the day, Jack Anderson. She said absolutely not, so I did not press the matter. It occurred to me, much later, that she knew the FBI much better than I and probably, with good reason, feared for her life if she exposed the secret of Cointelpro. Two years later, a home-grown terrorist group broke into an FBI office in Pennsylvania and got some papers dealing with the Cointelpro program, which got some limited news coverage in the Washington Star, a then functioning evening newspaper. It was only in 1973 during the Watergate Hearings that Cointelpro received widespread news coverage.

My point is that I was aware of Cointelpro long before most people had heard of it because I happened to date a young woman who had worked on the program at the FBI. So there are usually people working at these secretive agencies who are fully aware of things most of us just suspect. Now it is possible that there are high officials at the NSA who wish to harm Hillary, but it is also possible that this could be a case of a disgruntled midlevel employee.

It appears to me that there must be more to the opposition to Clinton by parts of the NSA than just her recent carelessness regarding e-mails. I'm just guessing, of course, but it just seems to me that they probably know much more about her than the average person and that some people within NSA have determined her to be unfit for office in view of her long and shabby history going all the way back to the outset of her career.

I would point out that Hillary graduated from Yale Law in 1973 and went to work for Marion Wright Edelman in Massachusetts, but in 1974 she went to work for the House Judiciary Committee working on the impeachment of Richard Nixon. She was fired by the Committee for improperly sharing secret materials with unauthorized persons, something I didn’t find out until years later, it was so effectively hushed up. That was an early sign that she could not be trusted and would work to bend the rules. How that plays into the NSA staffer’s unhappiness with Hillary is completely unknown to me. (A former girlfriend of mine worked as a secretary for the committee, specifically assigned to the impeachment effort, and she used to rave about one Hillary Rodham, but I never had occasion to meet her.)

NSA is known for sharing intelligence data with Mossad before it's received by CIA or FBI.

One wonders, why the tens of thousands of American Zionist Jews, who are openly involved in spying and campaigning for the interests of a foreign entity, which are mostly against the interests of the United States, are not monitored by the FBI or NSA?

    https://rehmat1.com/2014/07/10/glenn-greenwald-fbi-and-nsa-spies-on-american-muslims/

Trump has now ‘endorsed’ McCain and Ryan. He has to go for Republican unity first. Then, who knows if a Trump administration will or will not continue to hide Jewish responsibility for 9/11. If Trump allows the truth to come out, as he has once stated he would, that will be the end of the new world order for a long time. America might then even succeed in de-Talmudizing Jewishness — and de-Wahhabizing Muslim ideology. That might happen. Or, for all we know, Trump may turn out to be an incurably Judaic turd. Enough people will have to vote for him to neutralize the rigged polling in order for us to find out.

  27. At any crime-scene, one must consider means, motive and opportunity, but a more complete list includes premeditation, presence, any modus operandi and cui bono?

Consider Napolitano’s ‘deep state’ which “consists of intelligence, military, law enforcement and administrative agency personnel who aggressively protect their own interests …”

Me: There’s a flaw there, namely “their own interests.” IMHO, Napolitano’s grouping is a 2nd level covert cabal carrying out some coordinated policy – coming from ‘above’ = some smaller, 1st level cabal. If we consider motive, refer to PPS23/George Kennan: “… we have about 50% of the world’s wealth but only 6.3% of its population. … Our real task in the coming period is to devise a pattern of relationships which will permit us to maintain this position of disparity without positive detriment to our national security.”

Now, Q: cui bono? A: *Not* us, we the people; proof = neoliberalism/globalisation driving down 1st-world living standards as illustrated by general US-population malaise, crumbling infrastructure and ~50mio US-burghers on food-stamps, etc..

Thesis: It’s driven almost solely by $s. The US-population was cargo-culted until the ‘deep state’ decided that they could dispense with them, as now, effectively completely dumbed-down via the Bernays haze and being increasingly oppressed. The 2nd-level cabal may be well-off, but generally are not getting filthy-rich. In contrast, the 1st-level cabal is not just already filthy-rich, they want ever, obscenely, more. Resources like oil (a “stupendous source of strategic power”) are pursued (by ‘fair’ means or foul, up to and including war), not for or on behalf of the people, but for the economic rents available and taken by the oligarchy-controlled corporations, mostly for the benefit of those oligarchy-controllers.

Now, in this scenario, the politicians are only puppets, and have been since latest JFK/22Nov’63. As puppets, the 1st-level cabal has nothing to fear from them – unless some puppet comes up with a countervailing threat? Recall that the ‘deep state’ is operating ‘extrajudicially;’ we can liken it to a ‘mafia on steroids’ where absolutely anything goes. IF the ‘deep state’ fears the proxy-murderess of Gaddafi, THEN just what could her standover threat be?
