In my autistic drive for completion – at any rate from the end 2016, when I shared my impressions of London (Portsmouth, Oxford) in this blog’s first ever Open Thread before repatriating to Russia – the next couple of posts will be about my two visits to Blighty since.

Why London? Well, I need to visit it from time to time. Need to keep my MI6 handler happy.

Anyhow, unlike my other travel threads, I will be keeping these shorter (at least text wise) and more r-selected. London/SE England is hardly an exotic location so I don’t see any need to write detailed travelogues about it. Just enjoy the pictures.

Yes, this is the London visit on which I had my new phone stolen while reading Steven Pinker’s Enlightenment Now.

London

Generic London view.

I finally visited the Royal Air Force Museum in London.

Was good to see legends such as the Spitfire, Messerschmitt Bf109, and the Avro Lancaster bomber. Overall, I will give the museum a solid 4/5.

***

The Old Bank of England.

I think I might have just found my new favorite bar here.

***

Canterbury

Finally visited the world center of Anglicanism.

As one can see, Canterbury Cathedral was unfortunately an eyesore from the front as it was undergoing renovations at that time.

***

I managed to attend a church service, which involved singing psalms and listening to a sermon.

The choir was composed of boys from a local school.

***

The Canterbury streets.

Whereas London is now about 50% White, many of the provincial cities and towns around it are more like 90% White. This was true both on the streets, as well as of the school choir.

***

St. Martin’s Church is the the oldest church in Britain (late 6th century AD).

***

St. Augustine’s Abbey

***

Freemasonry Museum.

Oxford

Returned to Oxford for a day to visit a certain friend whose work you are likely to have also read at some point.

The building of the Oxford Union.

Oxford Union library (from 2016).

So that’s where my favorite living philosopher works. Cool.

Good to see Andrew Wiles honored so.

Where J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis relaxed at the end of the day. (From 2016).

Better known as Hogwarts Hall. (From 2016).

Tank Museum @ Bovington

Visited the Tank Museum at Bovington – it is 120 miles away from London, so you have to catch the train early.

Again, it was wonderful to see the tanks I’d read about in WW2 histories up close IRL.

This is a very good museum. I would give it a full 5/5.

Now comes the best part.

***

The globalists stole this glorious future of atomic tanks from us!

***

Even more tanks!

If you are new to my work, start here.

PS. I will imminently have a post on London 2019 as well, so I will refrain from opening comments on this thread so as not to have two separate discussions about London/the UK.
